Hello everybody, and welcome back tothe Giant Beast Cast as it was in
the beginning, is now and evershall be podcast without end. I'm Vinney
Caravella here on the Giant Beast Cast. Once again. You can't get rid
of me that easily. They rebuiltme. I'm better than ever now.
I people said I was a coward, but now I got more backbone than

(00:34):
ever. It took some of theit took some of the spine out,
and that was just all fucking backbone. I'm joined by Alex Navarro. Hello,
Vinny, congratulations to your spine ona successful fusion. Thank you very
much. Yes, it was theWe have done the fusion dance to Vertebrae,
have done the fusion dance, gotrid of that disc in the middle.
Who needs it? And now theynow they are volterra vertebrae. L

(00:58):
Now I am volta. Jeff Backler, how are you? What's up?
Man? Man? I'm so gladyou're back. You are doing such a
good job at further complicating my understandingof human recovery. Yeah, that's that's
what I like to do. Iget off. As soon as I get
off Mike with you, I fallinto a puddle of tears. So I

(01:19):
just want to confuse you. Ijust don't get it. I mean,
last week you sounded well, yousound like a fucking monster person, and
this week you're like basically perfect,uh sounding, and uh, you know,
I'm just glad you're back, becauseyou know we're nothing without you.
I mean, it turns out that, you know, swelling of the vocal

(01:42):
cords does a real number on you, and then when that swelling goes down,
it's like the person you knew andlove returns. Uh. Yeah,
I had, I had a lotof swelling going on. Swelling? Did
you like talk to anybody about that? I'm sure it was all part of
the normal healing process. But Iam curious if like the surgeon or whoever
like calls you up. He's justlike, I just want to hear your

(02:05):
voice up. Yep, you soundlike that. You're right on schedule,
see you later. An interesting point, the surgeon did call, But as
you know, I talked to you, Jeff. I think I talked to
you every day, well every nightbefore we go to bed. Yes,
yeah, every night before we goto bed. I'm talk each other.
What was his surgeon called on Wednesday? But I sounded fine for a while

(02:28):
and then I suddenly didn't sound fine. So when the surgeon called, he's
like, wow, your voice soundsgreat. I was like, you know,
I was a little lower than theoctave, but like it sounded fine.
But then Thursday was was bad. That was a swelly day. See
you say bed, I say, intriguing, I say, I say colorful.

(02:50):
Yeah, okay, all of thosethings. Yeah, I'm back.
I'm you know, in case youdidn't know, I was out for a
little bit air but I'm back now. And uh, you know on the
men, as they say, punchingthat clock so much so that you were
able to come into the city thisweek, I don't know about that.

(03:12):
Let's just say I came into thecity. Yeah, last week, you
and I went into the city topack up the the office in a way
that I had packed up a littlebit. So the saga of that is
we have to get out of thatbuilding because red Ventures does not own that
building, so they anything that isred Ventures within the CBS VODKAM CBS building

(03:37):
needs to find its way out ofthat buildings. Fosso prefaces with this vibe
was red Ventures, I wouldn't wantthat building either. I mean, let's
just let's just be let's just callit an unnice building. But it's probably
not worth the money you would haveto pay to own it. At this
point, Yeah, I would.I would own that building and then sell
it. Sure, yes, reallythat's all we're talking about. But yeah

(04:00):
boo yeah. So so, yeah, we had to get out of there.
That's the thing we knew since arounddecept I'm gonna say January, esh,
which is about two weeks after myback started doing, decided I'm done
with you. So so I hadgone in there twice once to go pack

(04:21):
up the desks. That was, yeah, that was what you were there
the eighteen around there, the eighteenthof December, I think that was January,
Okay, January. She went themonday after. I went, oh
right, yeah, okay, wow, how do you remember I just got
a thing with dates. I'm justgood, just move on, Okay,
I'm good. It's really good atthat. Okay, when was the last

(04:42):
time you were nice to me?Uh? This morning? January sixteenth,
twenty fifteen. The and then Iwent back in there to start the studio,
and I knew this is when Iwas like in a kind of a
bad way. I tried my best, but I started messaging people that were
managing and being like, you know, this one's gonna go pretty slowly.
I'm going to a doctor. I'mgonna go see somebody. I'm not sure,

(05:04):
Hey, what's the worst The worstcase scenario here is like we throw
this all away, or somebody somebodyelse maybe comes in and just does all
this because I don't know how muchI'm gonna do on this. Uh.
And then turns out you and Iwent in last week, this week,
this week, it's two days ago, man, I mean, and then

(05:26):
we did the rest of it.We did the rest of it, and
it took it took a good din'tsay we could all today hauled some butt
and you hauled some computers and someand monitors. I tried not to lift
anything too heavy, doctor said, don't don't. Don't lift anything heavier than
a gallon of milk, which whichnot light, not light, not light.
But most of the things in thatstudio crossed the threshold beyond the gallon

(05:48):
of milk at least two gallons.Yeah, so uh we did. We
did that and piled up all thePCs. And I'll tell you my favorite
part the best part, best part. And I say thank you to John
from seen that mister fell Cone.Yeah you know what, he said,
thank you, great job. Youguys did a great job. Thank you.
And Alex and I looked at eachother and he said, he said,

(06:10):
so, kay, can we belike somehow brand this into a plaque
and own this forever? Can you? Can you? Can you like write
us an email that says like, great job, thank you. I don't
feel like I haven't heard that insuch a long I haven't heard that in
such a long time. John, thank you so much. Can you can
you be our parents? He seemedvery appreciative, and I felt pretty good
at John's the best. John wasvery nice and he's managing that whole process

(06:35):
for what why, I don't know, but he is any thinking for it.
And they today they went in thereand they took all the lights out.
So that was one of those stipulationswas and again John was very much
on top of this. Do notclimb a ladder, do not get up
on anything, do not lift anythinglike a TV, unmount of wall or
anything from a wall. You getwith keeping those lights they're traveling. I

(06:58):
was going to say, the lightsare the only thing that's not gonna get
old, you know what I mean, that's the only thing that's not going
to get outdated. I mean, they could make better lights, they could,
but you know they're those lights arethose lights are They're good? They
were pretty recent purchases. There LEDsthere, you know, the whole thing.
I was able to throw the spotlighton the funky shop before we left,

(07:19):
so hopefully whoever came in there today, Uh was either the fuck is
this ship? What the fuck? What is this cursed room? What's that?
Don't go and don't go in thatroom? Smells like farts and selts.
That's not good. I was worriedabout the farts. But I'm glad
we took care of that. Alot of very little, very little of

(07:41):
that stuff is really going away exactlylike it's going into storage. It's going
into a place where it will liveuntil such time as perhaps maybe someday there
is another studio, but as ofright now, there are no immediate plans
for that. My final recommendation toJohn and to whomever was going to lift
and move those boxes and pack therest of that stuff was you should probably

(08:05):
put a label on these that's agiant bomb. Yeah, and then but
hey, so we if we canfind them if we need to. Hey,
Alex and I maybe didn't take thebest care to like sort these boxes
in ways that any any humans shouldunpack these other than us, so that
we cannot avoid embarrassment. You willopen that box and be like, Uh,
this is a PSVR headset, seventeenUSB cables, a half a controller,

(08:28):
a bottle of milk. Uh,what is what is this box called?
That's called what was on the shelfat three thirty? Uh. This
box, which appears to be nothingbut network and USB cables, appears to
have come alive into some sort ofstring like beast creature and is threatening everyone.
What you really got to do isput a tracking device in one of

(08:50):
them their boxes, and you canfollow the box on its adventure through through
you know, wherever the hell it'sgoing, my guests, Yeah, where
all things got island? Yeah,I was gonna say the East River,
but sure your house in Jersey.Yeah. I don't think it's going to
swim with the fishes, but Ifeel like it's gonna it is. Somehow,

(09:13):
those boxes are somehow already on thatship that is in the canal.
That is in Egypt. Yes,somehow on that mega ship full of the
world's goods on that apparently it's onlyten that only the Suez Canals. So
that ship is so big and they'reso oh my gosh, what do you
think's on there? That's that's anembarrassing thing. Okay, So this happened

(09:37):
a little bit. I'm not gonnaname names, but this happened a little
bit when some of the deaths said, this is a fun story, so
hang with me. Some of thedeaths had to be cleaned out in the
office and some people had, youknow, things they not by us,
Like some people had to have theirdesks. It's me, it's not you
know, some people had to havetheir desks not in New York and San
Francisco cleaned out. And this isnot anybody a giant bomb, but by

(10:01):
other people because you weren't allowed inthe office. And some people I talked
to were like, you know,I got ship in that desk. I
want people to see. I wantpeople to see. It's fair. I
think that's fair. Yeah, Imean also like, what are you doing
with that in the office? Butyeah, yeah, I got personal items,
I got something there. People tosee sure do you think do you
think any of that happens with thatship now? That stuck? Uh?
And like it's like you know, when we were leaving, there was just

(10:22):
extra room. It's on that ship. You know, I threw some shit
in there. I don't want peopleto see like, uh, it's not
all flesh lights. I mean it'sit's fucking it's gotta be went to that
one. That's that's toys. Itlooks like four hundred thousand pounds of heroin.
Yes, you know, I'm justnot gonna lie. That's what that
is. That is, that isa lot of hero it's from it's from

(10:43):
an anime. It's anime heroin. It's I bought it. I bought it
on a collectible site. It's it'sfake. I promise that would be.
I mean, that is a thatis content that I would pay for if
they could somehow like be right, like we gotta get on that ship.
We have to get the ship off. Before they started loading that ship,
you just look at like the billof lading right and see like what exactly
the manifest is, like what's upin there? And they're just like,

(11:07):
oh boy, wait till the cigarettesand fucking like illegal animals. It's just
ratte It's just a giraffe head pokingthrough a thing. They must have greffe
and cocaine. I must. I'mgonna assume this is true, but I
would I would not be surprised ifit weren't true that I'm gonna assume they
have like a three dimensional or stackedthing that tells him what is in every

(11:31):
cargo container, Like, hey,row one, Yeah, it's like a
Cosco on the water. It's gotyou right. They can't just stack that
stuff and then look at the barcodeon the side later and figure it out,
right, It's got to be like, hey, I need to get
the thing in the middle shelf outof there. I just wanted to show
you that the Philadelphia seventies six ersare calling me. Great, she should

(11:54):
answer that call your call baby.Oh no, you know what, man,
it's time to know what I knowwhat that is. I think that's
like the Devils. I think theDevils are owned by the same people,
and these guys keep trying to getme to buy tickets. Anyway, that's
your current news segment. Like no, Like, I think it's crazy that

(12:16):
uh the show that I would loveto see is is someone who like like
you get like you get the youget what's ever end cargo ship? Cargo
three, it's like the it's likethe ultimate storage locker thing. Or it's
just like, yes, you're biddingon this cargo ship. Yeah, we
need to get this ship out ofhere. Yeah bid you know, I
don't know, ten bucks, tenbucks for everything? You know, there's

(12:39):
like at least eight hundreds on theship, right all right? Fifteen bucks,
fifteen bucks for everything. I don'tknow. I'd be so cool.
That'd be like almost I hate tocall it a reality show, but holy
shit, would I watch that andjust be like, what's it gonna be
Koalas or Heroin? What's it gonnabe Eypewriters or Tesla's. I don't know,

(13:01):
I don't know. It's how manyps five do you think are on
that thing? Probably at least acouple of hundred, Right, Wait,
it's got look how like the implicationis like it is all of the World's
like, it's just one ship,man, I mean's a big one.
You see the size of that thing. It's massive. Yeah, it's like
the size of the Rhode Island.I'm assuming nobody was hurt when it kind

(13:24):
of ran and wedged itself in there. But like you have to imagine the
person driving it at some point though, and it's out of his control because
the wind blew it. Right,It's out of his control. The wind
took it. That's what That's whatI read that the winds what they said,
okay see and that at some point, you know, you just you're
just hands off the wheel, likeoh, this is so bad. This
is this is so bad in away that everybody saw that the wind took

(13:48):
it right? Just is there isthere video? Again, haven't been following
this story that closely. I've onlyheard like cursories or details about it.
Is was there like a situation whereyou just heard like a bunch of people
just go like oh oh yeah, and then and then like cable we have,
oh I see what happened, Likekind of slowly enough, it's a

(14:09):
huge ship that just kind of yeah, I bet it's up and now there's
just like a traffic jam behind themof just all the world's goods. Oh
damn. It's just like it's likeit's just we went aground stuck. Yeah,
yeah, yeah, it just thatthing doesn't stop moving once it starts
moving. Yeah, no, theboat's penis got stuck in. There's like
there there's satellite imagery of the fuckingdumbass thing just like caught up sort of,

(14:35):
you know, the way like athing gets stuck in a pipe.
It's just sort of like caught up. It's bad. I thought I read
somewhere that this boat is technically notwithin the regulation space of like boats size
that is supposed to go through thatcanal. But I've also heard that a
lot of people maybe bribe their wayfrom that canal in a way that maybe
they're not supposed to. I don'treally know. It ain't exactly like a

(14:56):
a you know, a trail offthe beaten peth motherfucking Suez Canal. Like
it's pretty important canal. Yeah,Like, how do you how do you
just like slide the guy of fiftyBecause if it was a carton of cigarettes,
you know, we'll be in andout. I don't know how long
it takes to do all the locksand stuff, and I'm gonna assume it
takes a day or two. Right, we'll be in and out. You

(15:18):
won't even know, you won't evenknow. Take pick any cargo container you
want we lose it. We loseat least five percent on the way here.
This is just like a bit outof idiocricy, is it not?
Well, it's just like it's it'slike a mess on top of a mess
already where it's just like, oh, the world, the world is already
super nerve sensitive to the interconnectedness aswe've been up. Yeah, yeah,

(15:43):
and now it's just like, wellwe have we have like one or two
ways to do this route. Whatif we knock one out? What happens?
Then? How do you guys feelaround about going around Africa? Again,
that's a you know capa good helphasn't seen much action, you know
recently. Let's go so what arethey doing? Like, well, this
is a really interesting story just becauseof the ramifications and like the sea I

(16:06):
mean again, it's like, well, everybody was really baffled. And then
one small child said why don't youdeflate the tires? And then they figured
it out. No, she's gota references. That reference. That's the
one where the truck gets stuck underthe bridge and they don't know how to
get it out. And then likethe kid comes by and says, why
don't you just deflate the tires andthen they know it's just like a riddle
book or a real life event. What has two legs in the morning,

(16:26):
has four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three
legs at night. A stuck ship, I don't know. I've been following
it kind of loosely. It soundedlike they were trying to use an excavator
to kind of dig out some ofthat portion you saw that was stuck over
there. Yeah, we're gonna haveto get out and push guys. Yeah.
I mean, they had a wholebunch of tugboats at one point trying
to pull the thing, and Idon't think that was doing anything. I
think I heard they they might haveto take something of the stuff off there.

(16:48):
Other ships are just debating whether ornot they should reroute, which is
explode the boat. Maybe I don'tthink that was on the thing. That
doesn't seem like the best solution.Fifty one boats a day passed through the
Suez Can. Hell, if youwere searching for that little tidbit of information,
yeah, okay, day, okay, nineteen thousand a year or a

(17:08):
while for all the you know, all the locks and stuff, like the
water to rise. And isn't thatthe Panama Canal that does I thought they
both have it, because they're notboth. I know slightly more about the
Panama Canal. This one's the logflume. You're thinking of the logs.
I'm thinking of the Disney's log flume. Yeah. Yeah, it's easy to
it's easy to the Panama Canal, the canals, rolling thunder, I get

(17:33):
it. Like, yeah, anyway, Uh, that's what's happening. If
you're wondering this will date, well, that's the news of the day.
It could be worse, I guess. I don't think anybody was injured,
hopefully unless the maybe a smack inthe head on the drive for at some
point by somebody. You think itwas that part of a stop. I
don't know. No, I'm justsaying the guy behind it be like,

(17:55):
you idiot, what are you doing? I thought I was going right,
you were going left. Yeah,I had controls inverted. The name of
the boat is the ever Given ifyou were wondering ever Given? Okay,
okay, who owns the boat?I don't know. Who owns one of
those other corporation yeah, corpse,I don't know. Oh, I know,

(18:19):
is the only shipping. I knowabout is that we put a bunch
of stuff in boxes. That's right. I rescued a few things from the
office, last few things. Thedread poster is safe, is all I
can tell you. And there mayin fact be a steering wheel in this
house. I don't know. We'llsee. Oh, okay, would you
guys steal? Would you guys steal? We would you steal? Anything?
Like? Yeah? Like, youknow, would you take nothing? I

(18:44):
don't want anything more in my house. But I did take There was a
mass effect print that I was there, and that was that belonged to no
one but us, and I didtake that. It was a frame print.
I thought I had grabbed all theprints before, but this one was
in a frame. Did you getthe thing I wanted? You know what?
I wanted one of those acoustic squaresas a memory. Oh we threw

(19:07):
those away. Yeah, we threwall the way. Yeah, those are
all on the they're all in thegarbage. So when I asked you for
one of them, and then you'rethe garage, I'm gonna say I either
ignored you at the time or completelyforgott I don't know which one. Do
you want to go with? Okay, all right. I mean all those

(19:29):
things were kind of leaking some ofthe sound. Maybe you don't actually want
that because from the back and theyhave yeah yeah, no, they fell
on my neck a bunch. Iget it. Which one would you want
more of that in your life?Sentimental value? I will remember this,
I want okay, wow, allright? Good? Yeah, No,
neither of you remember this, sothat's fine. Yeah I didn't. I

(19:53):
don't recall you ever saying that, but it's possibly didn't possible idea. Well
you got that. As long asyou got the postcards, that's that's all.
Okay. Yeah, the ship toactually put them back in the mail
with return to you, so theyshould be shown up your house that time
too. And that was all thatwas a lot of postage, just licking
envelopes. Yeah, just thanks Eugene. It turns out, Oh yeah,

(20:15):
how's he doing. He's doing great. Yeah, he's still Eugene. Yeah.
I love it. I love it. But a good what a good
person got to get stink eyed fromthe construction workers who had to wait for
us to take the elevator. Thatwas good. Oh stop it. They
don't like, they don't like thosecities. They don't like the normies.
Yeah, they listen. They gotwork to do too. I played a

(20:38):
bunch of Story of Seasons. Yeah, I'm back, played a bunch of
Story of Seasons. Uh, thepioneers of Olivetown. This is I'm not
doing the bet. I'm gonna sayit is from the makers of Story of
Seasons, when previously the makers ofHarvest Moon. I don't let somebody else

(21:00):
in the comments sort of all thisis the actual Harvest Moon game. This
is not Harvest Moon game. Yeah, the I want to look at the
what Harvest Moon currently is. Wehave the quick look up on the site.
This is a much better game thatgame I was not very good.
This one much better, though, has technical problems. The frame rates not
great. I'm usually not that harshon frame rates, but this one gets

(21:25):
to the point where you're like,ah, this this thinks uh, and
it gets in the way of thefund sometimes the I'm starting to just blame
the switch though. I am kindof getting frustrated with the switch this game
is. It could be poorly optimized. There's kind of no reason I've seen
why this game should bog down thatmuch. It could be a lot of
them, you know, computational stuffgoing on with all the farming and you

(21:48):
know, all the machines, ButI don't know, I don't know.
I think we need a new switch. I think we need a beefier switch.
There might be one coming. Wemight talk about that more later or
bring bring bring that game to anotherplatform, bring that game to other platforms,
and and we'll do it. That'sa story season Pioneers of Olive Town.
It's pretty good. I do notengage, or necessarily tend to engage

(22:11):
with the social aspects of that game, so I couldn't really speak to that.
But the farming is fine and fun. The maker stuff in it where
they have gone maker bananas, Uh, there's just you. You have all
these machines and they can only makeone thing at a time, So if
you want to turn raw lumber intosomething else, you have to have,

(22:32):
you know, as many as youwant to make for the end product at
the same time, which is inpractice winds up being you have fields of
these things and that's not fun. They should fix that so you can just
drop your raw lumber in and it'lljust keep running on its own. It's
very tedious. At some point.I'm not enjoying that part, but I'm
continuing to play even after the quickclick. I want to get my farm
optimized. I want to make alot of money on my farm and then

(22:53):
leave that town. So I don'twant to get to know anybody. I'll
go to your weird holiday parties andyou're like seasonal things and show up,
and then I am looking to becomea bajillionaire by selling you mayonnaise and butter.
That's that's really what I'm about.Okay. Yeah, I have a

(23:14):
dog and a cat and we livehappily on our farm. Are you supposed
to I think you're supposed to givegifts to people in those games, and
I just never Starty Valley. Ikind of got into it because I found
the people charming there in the StartyValley. Yeah, this person's cool,
not all. I also played. You guys probably talked about this a bunch
of more of that loop hero, the couple of loops that. Sure,

(23:37):
I see why people like it.I'm not sure I'm loving it. I'm
not. I think I'm hold on, I got to readjust okay, let's
let's hear it. Okay, Ithink it's a good game. Okay,
Yeah, I don't know how muchI have to add to it. I'm
not being like, I'm not like, get back and play hero what I

(24:00):
don't think it's just hasn't bitten youyet, it hasn't bitten me. So
what happens? Like, you goto the town, you do some upgrades.
I should I kind of remember thattime we were talking about this is
now weeks ago, and I waslike, what happens when you die?
You're not kind of know I haven'tdied. I've died a lot. Yeah,
okay, so I'm at the pointwhere I haven't died. So does
it just get ramps up the challenge? At some point? Stuff just gets

(24:22):
out of hand. So when youdie, you you feel like an idiot
because you're like, this game isjust a loop. I all I gotta
do is make it to the otherside. I'm an idiot. And you
are then told you only get tokeep a certain amount of the resources you
collected in your many loops. Getback to the camp site and you do

(24:45):
what you will with the things youhave, and then you go out in
your expedition again and you try notto die like an idiot again, like
an idiot again? Keep you keepyour mostly your upgrades, like your weapons,
and no you don't keep that. You keep like your resources, your
you know, your twigs and yourfucking rocks or whatever. No, the

(25:07):
town all that stays the same, the town stuff. Yeah, but not
the map, not the loose no, none of like the details of the
map are the same, and youstuff and you start back from like zero
again on your stats stuff. Yeah. I like that game a lot.
I just I was watching Jan playbefore a little bit streaming before we went

(25:30):
live here, and I could tellthat dude's way better at that game than
I am. He's just maybe he'sjust put more hours into it to sort
of unpack all the like. Yeah, he looked like he knew what he
was doing. I it took mea while to realize, like, oh,
you gotta be really Oh I knewthis. I just didn't know how
to be strategic. But with whereyou place all of the things and the

(25:51):
tiles and what they are adjacent toand what they're touching, you know,
I still I still enjoy my simCity reference to that, where it's like
power line's got to touch that tileor you're not gonna have a library with
power The same sort of thing welike get bonuses for things that are touching
certain you know, whether or notthey're geographic piles or whatever. It is,

(26:11):
so like spawn limitters, Yeah, okay, strategically like I could tell
him, so, he like hada really good sort of you know,
he had had his hands on onthe on the enemy sort of ramp up
in a way that I just letout of control way too quickly. So
but I still play that a coupleof times a week now. I do

(26:36):
want to get I want to makemore progress in there to kind of feel
like I've I've done what I cando in it. So yeah, I
think I'm gonna try and get backin there as well. But like I
said, it hasn't bitten me,but maybe it will. I also keep
every time I sit down at theTV to go play a game, well
not every time that has happened.More than once. I'll boot up Desperados

(26:57):
three because it was on game Pass, and then I'll be like, I
worry that place. People say reallygood things about this, and I played
for a little bit, and Isay, ah, I really feel like
I should be playing this on PC. All the controls on everything on here.
It feels like I should be playingon I'm gonna I'm gonna stop playing
before I get too far, andI'm gonna save it from when I'm downstairs
again and I'm playing on the PCand that has happened like three times,

(27:21):
and I just need to get downstairsand play it on the PC. That
game seems neat. It just feelslike when I'm moving the cursor around with
the controller and all that stuff,it's like this really just feels like I
want to be on the PC withit. So yeah, so hopefully,
hopefully I'll get some of that time. And it's been like a nice time
to go back through the backlog andget some stuff done. It seems like

(27:41):
this is a good time to beable to do that kind of stuff.
Yes, this seems like a downtimeto get that stuff. What anything else.
I mean, we did lose anentire day to you know, moving
and stuff, so if you didn'tand also you've had some medical things going
on, so maybe if you worksit down playing a lot of video games.
I think people can hippie for that. I watched the Snyder cut.

(28:03):
Oh, that's that's a big partof someone's death. I mean, it's
that's about as long as a videogame average. I watched a Batman versus
Superman Extreme Edition, Ultimate Edition, then I watched the Snyder cut over two
days. Over two days feels alot. Yeah, I feel bad,
Okay, I feel okay. I'mnot sure why it has to be four

(28:25):
by three. See, I don'twant to bring that up, but like,
was it I don't know. Ihaven't seen any of us. Wait,
I thought it was in four bythree. It is and four by
three and it says at the beginninglike this is in four by three to
keep in respect with you know whatthe dude wanted, and we're going with
it. I feel more like Ifeel more like this in four by three

(28:47):
because that saves us money on effectsand we don't have to do that.
I don't think it does. Itdoes, we don't have to render out
the edges have more pustles here.I've heard some colorful conversations about that choice
by by sort of Oh, Eve'sdropping in on a couple zoom calls.

(29:08):
My wife has had okay with peoplein that biz uh huh. They think
they think it's pretty stupid. Yeah, the people. The thing I keep
hearing around is like, oh,it's closer to IMAX format, so we
can we can get in there.I don't I don't think it. I
mean three is imax. I thinkfour imax has its own. It's it's

(29:29):
similar to four by three. Itis not exactly four by three now,
yeah, I mean here's the again, Like I don't know, I don't
think they what did they do?They cropped it? And did they crop
it? Or they just shot?I don't mean they could have. They
could have cropped it to the sixteenby nine oh and shot in four by

(29:52):
three. They definitely shot in sixteennine. Maybe maybe maybe they shot in
imax. I don't think. Maybethat's what it is. Yeah, it's
shot in Imax, shot in panorama. Actually this was supposed to be one
of those Disney look around the wholerings. Anyway, the movie's fine.
I thought the movie was enjoyable.I couldn't seventy million dollars fine or I

(30:14):
mean, if they had just givenme seventy million dollars, I would also
just be fine. But I wouldn't. I wouldn't know more about Cyborg.
I just feel like I've been I'vebeen very very much pressured to care about
it. You don't have to.No, I know, it's just I
just feel like it's fine. No, No, it's fine, and I
don't and I don't mind people beingexcited about it. Of course, be
excited about the thing you're excited about, that's great. I just feel like,

(30:37):
uh, you know, I Idon't know. I'm I feel like
there's been a disproportioned amount of pressureto care about it when I cannot find
the bandwidth the care about it.I think, Uh, if you are
not extremely online and not extremely inlike I'm extremely online film circles, I

(31:00):
don't think it really matters. It'sjust not like if if you were desperate
to see the new Justice League andZack Snyder's original vision, Godspeed enjoy.
I think the notion of this havingto be a forced cultural moment in some
way or another is ludicrous and notnecessary. Four hours, four hours.

(31:21):
I don't have four hours, fourhours seven ideas because the movies I could
watch that amount of time are likeseventy minutes long. You could probably just
watch on a sixteen by nine screenthe first two hours in the last two
hours side by side and be goodto go. Oh yeah, you'd get

(31:41):
there, finish it. All upin two hours, be done with it.
But it went by quickly. Achat is just exploding with the Imax
stuff. So hey, listen, that's your choice. Go for it,
man. What was the other? There's something else I can't and now I
can't remember yet. What do youwant to talk directly to Zack Snyder?

(32:02):
Go for it, man? Yeah, I think he I think he did.
I think he went for it.I'll do it again. Yeah.
What else has he done? Thistime? Shooting? Not in Imax though,
syder? Yeah? What else done? He's done? He's done like
a handful, like all the likethe Sucker Punch movies or something like that.
Right, well, first, there'sonly one of those, thank god.
Yeah. Yeah, no, hedid Sucker Punch three hundred, the

(32:25):
Dawn of the Dead remake. Uh, those two Superman movies, which were
not particularly well received. Batman versusSuperman. That one I didn't like.
But I don't that was a question. I just don't like that affleck.
That's Batman. I just okay.I think I think he's the divorced Batman
this era deserves. But that doesn'tnecessarily mean I want to watch him play

(32:45):
Batman. So can you just explainto me real quick. So the movie,
that movie comes out a while ago, right, and then I understand
personal reasons Zack Snyder had to likego away. And then now is this

(33:07):
movie like incredibly different. It addssome stuff and like involves a lot of
stuff that I think was kind ofleft on the cutting room floor during that
transfer transfer process to Jos Wheedon. So it seems like they did they reshoot
stuff. They did reshoot a bunchof stuff, some of which had to

(33:28):
be done on the sets of otherfilms, which is why a few shots
apparently in that movie kind of looklike no one is in the same room
because they're not. Somebody told methat this is sure enough. Somebody told
me he did not want to useany of the Joss Whedon stuff, that
he used only his original footage andreshoot stuff and did not use any of
the I that's the thing. Idon't know the specifics enough about which stuff

(33:51):
was specifically Wheedens versus Snyders. Thereare only so many more videos I'm willing
to watch and mind, yeah, that's destining sword lodging. But I my
understanding is that yes, he triedto make it as close to his original
vision as possible without using any ofthe extra stuff that was done for the
first release. I'll tell you what. I enjoyed the movie. Alright,
I'm glad. I'm glad those fourhours were not wasted. Yeah, I

(34:14):
enjoyed it. I thought it wasentertaining. I thought it lost slow motion,
but like, hey, listen,I'll sit there and eat some popcorn
and watch some slow superheroes. That'swhat's four hours. I also think that's
the same criticism I had the originalJustice League version of it. It's I
think it's really impossible to do aJustice League with Superman. He's just too
powerful. Like you need to figureout a way to do it. I
think they do, and they thinkit's fine enough. I think it's just

(34:37):
too hard, and like he's justhe's just too powerful superhero. Right.
That's well, that's a larger critiqueabout Superman, I think, which I
share, uh, because I dothink he's the dumbest superhero. That's why
they should have replaced him with Steel. When you know they killed Superman back
in the nineties. Steel clearly shouldhave become the permanent Superman after I don't
know what's steel. Steel is oneof the various New Superman and that came

(35:00):
along after the death of Superman.Back in the day, Steele was a
guy, a very large man whobuilt himself a big old steel suit of
armor and had a giant hammer anduh they made a movie about him that
had Shaquille O'Neal in it. Ohshit, okay, Jesus, do you
remember the death of Superman? Ifeel like I think they do. Wasn't

(35:22):
that Yeah? Yeah, I stillhave that comic and it's like little plastic
baggy that came out. Yeah, well it's worth nothing because there's like seven
billion of them. Everybody in theworld got one. Yeah, you it's
like that and the first issue ofYoung Blood. Like those are the two
comics that, like, you know, you're like, oh, this is
gonna be worse something something. Nope, Baskin Robbins, you got that for

(35:46):
free. Wait. Wait. Supermansucks because you just ask any kid about
Superman and they'll just be like andbe like oh what, oh, like
what's that? What's his powers? And you're just like, all of them?
Yeah, what do you mean? He's God, He's all of them.
Oh, And then that kid willsay to you, look you in

(36:07):
the eye and be like fuck Superman. Yeah, I mean, I don't
know where they heard fuck, butthat is what they'll say to you because
they see value and there's none inSuperman. They see value in limitation.
They need to see something there, the vulnerability of something true. Yes,
kryptonite, I get it. Butlike Supicial Rock, Superman's weakness is he's

(36:31):
like a he's a he's a dupe. He's like a simp, right like
his Superman's weakness is like he's toogood. He's a gullible Like yeah,
that's why Alex Luthor's a good villainfor him, because he's like Superman's like
a gullible piece of shitus Like, yeah, super Superman's weakness is that he's
a fucking moron. He's Alex Luthor'slike, I'm a businessman. Yeah,

(36:53):
I could take you for a rideany day of the week. I didn't
even go to business school. Andwhen fucking when you find smart, gonna
launch me into the sun. Butit's gonna be a fun journey for this
and until we go. That's whyI thought Gene Hackman Superman was pretty good.
He played Alex Lee, Yeah, really good. Slime Ball for sure.
For that I think. I thinkthe who's like he's doing like the

(37:15):
missing thumb trick to Superman. Alwayslook at this guy. Yeah, you
can't do that. What is hecapable of? That's why he's a villain.
Uh yeah, he's uh yeah.Anyway, Alex, Alex, what's
been up to? Uh? Well, I haven't been watching the Snyder cut,

(37:36):
I will tell you that much rightnow. I you know, I've
been playing some of the same stuffI was playing the last few weeks,
still working my way through fights andtight spaces. I've made it about halfway
through chapter four, which is whenthey just uh it's a bunch of mob
guys with guns. So that's fun. I played a little bit more of
that mon Dawn game, but notvery much more of it. I'm still

(37:59):
digging that one new thing I wasable to play this week, which we
just did a quick look for yesterdayon the site. I paired up with
my work spouse, Brad Shoemaker, and we got extremely divorced in It Takes
two, the new game Hazelight, the studio headed by Joseph Ferris, makers

(38:19):
of a Way Out, and Iplayed with my wife and got real divorced.
Yeah. So this is a weirdone. Man. Let me preface
this with a couple of things.I said this on the quick. Look.
I my parents got very bitterly divorcedwhen I was younger. I have
a certain feeling around stories that tryto turn divorce into whimsy and you know,

(38:46):
flights of fancy, and my thatopinion is that shit sucks ass.
But that's me. I'm not sayingpeople shouldn't try and tackle those kinds of
stories or address them however they fuckingwant by all means to make your art.
I don't give a fuck. Pointis that but that stuff I just
have a deep allergy to it.So right out of the gate, the
vibe of this game is weird. You are a pair of parents who are

(39:08):
getting ready to split up, andyour precocious young daughter who is very you
know, not necessarily in denial, but definitely doesn't seem to fully grasp what's
going on there and just thinks mommyand daddy are mad at each other and
you know it's need to figure outtheir shit. Do they say how old
Rose is? She said she couldbe between five and twelve. I genuinely

(39:30):
cannot tell. If you were tryingto wrap our heads around that too.
Yeah, she's young, but notI can't tell exactly how young. So
you know, she's sad, she'supset, and she's made these two little
dolls out of her parents, youknow, because she wants to envision them
out of their flesh. Yeah, yeah, a fantasy version of them where
they're happy together. Uh. Andthe the the one true magical ingredient in

(39:52):
the world. A child's tears fallonto the dolls. Gotta gotta say,
did not like that part. It'sa choice, that is a choice.
Was not happy they did that. And as soon as that happened, the
parents consciousnesses are sucked into the dollsand they find themselves in a sort of
honey I shrunk the kids situation wherethey are dealing with sentience, household goods,

(40:17):
and other things and trying to figureout a way to get their daughter
to put their brains back in theirbodies. I guess I don't know.
Have you finished it? No,about two and a half hours. That's
about what I've done with states.I really want to know how this wraps

(40:37):
up, because I watched I watchedyou guys play it, you and Brad
some of it, and the Ineed to know if that book as marriage
counselor winds up being the villain oris fude that books that books something else?
Huh. There is like if thatgame ends and it's like we're getting

(40:58):
a divorce but you know that's justhow it is and not everything ends well
and fuck you book, you know, like yeah, and then it's like,
if that's how it goes, Ilike, okay, maybe the journey
there was a little rough, butif it ends in like the book and
the other thing sitting back as theparents are like, we can work this
out, then maybe I think itmight be cash out for that. Yeah,

(41:22):
I uh yeah, I I wouldbe very surprised if they did that.
Although nothing really surprises me after playingabout almost three hours of this game,
Okay, the total shifts in itare really something they go yeah,
I mean look but but but tojust focus on, like, well,
it's fun. I'm having a funnyexperience with it because I'm finding well,

(41:44):
my wife is finding out that she'snot very good at camera controls on a
stick, and a lot of themajority of our time is just sort of
laughing at each other about how,you know, how it starts. Yeah,
that's it. It starts off realgreat, we're in the we're in
the honey moon period now if youwill, so you know, we're we

(42:04):
are having a lot of fun withit. I think like as a game
like the actual just like co opMechanics. Yeah, the way stuff shifts
from level to level, like it'sbetter than a way out was certainly like
it feels a lot more refined.I think for the most part, the
platforming is pretty generous. It's notsuper frustrating. Some of those boss fights
are a little tough, but youknow, like it's not it's not mean
spirited as far as the gameplay isconcerned, and it does feel like they

(42:28):
are shifting pretty significantly from level tolevel in terms of like what mechanics you're
doing, And that, to meis the highlight of it so far,
where you are in very different areasall the time at very sort of smartly
detailed and you know, even thatfirst level with all the cool vacuum stuff,
I thought it was a lot offun. Like you know that that
stuff for me is the best partso far. Every time you know,

(42:52):
these two talk to each other orthe book shows up, we're sort of
just like we just got to getthrough this part, and you know,
we'll have some fun, you andme laughing at each other. Why did
they make the book sound like cheechmarin? That's the thing I don't really
understand. What's the name of thebook too, doctor doctor Hakim something.

(43:12):
Yeah, I don't know what.I don't know. Yeah, I don't
know why he sounds like that.Uh, it's the book is so weird.
The book is so weird. It'sa weird game. Like I like
the it's weird game from what Isaw. Yeah, it's sharp looking too.
Yeah, and it performs pretty wellwith the dual screen stuff too.
When I was watching you play it, I thought this looked fun. I
was waiting for stuff to see iflike, oh, is this a game

(43:36):
that is just awkward to play withyour kid? Like I think it might
be with my kid. And again, it kind of think. It depends
where that story goes and what happensin it. But yeah, yeah,
I don't know. We'll see,Brad and I might end up playing through
more of it, depending on howlong. I guess. I don't know
it. Brad seems curious about it. I'm I'm like this much curious,

(43:59):
But also I don't know man,I just I I have this strong feeling
inside of me that where it's goingto end up is exactly where I don't
want it to end up, whichis with these people just being like,
yeah, you know what, wejust we were being selfish, we're working,
we'll work out our differences for thefamily, and it's just like,
God, I don't want that.I don't want that. Yeah, I
know, I agree. I think, I guess and all the things that

(44:22):
I have been surprised or not beensurprised with this game, I guess I
would be surprised if that's how theytie it up. But you would be
surprised if they were just like, let's reconcile, you know. I hope,
I hope there's something there's more dimensionto it than that. Yeah,
at last, the path is isjustified. Right. I bet it's something
like in the middle where it's likeit's like a goodbye, right, and

(44:44):
like, yeah, it is likeI'm made out fire situation where they actually
stay divorced, but like they becomefriendly and they're they maintain a relationship with
some I remember that was the thatwas like the takeaway headline about Missus Dowfire
in the nineties when that came outwhere it's like they stay divorced. This

(45:04):
is so edgy because they stay divorcedat the end. Yeah, you know,
and I thought that was has hadlike a very taboo period like in
the in the nineties. It waslike a you know, divorced race started
shooting up in the eighties especially,I think, and that's when you know,
people were all just sort of wringingtheir hands about it, being like,

(45:28):
oh, is there something wrong withmarriage in America? Yeah, there
is, but nonetheless turns out soyeah, I uh yeah, anything else
that's kind of been it. Heyhey hey, hey, hey hey,
how's it come by you? Iwas surprised to see. I was surprised

(45:51):
to see what I was. Igonna have the chat before. People get
pretty passionate about Superman. I don'tknow, Uh, you know who likes
Superman? Jerry Seinfeld? Are youJerry Seinfeld? Are you there? Are?
Is that your personality that you whatyou think Superman is the best hero?
I don't. I don't think I'mJerry Seinfeld. Okay, but I
could be convinced. Uh wait,that's a way I feel like that's a

(46:15):
weird, Like you don't want tobe What is there is Jerry Seinfeld?
I mean, I guess he's justboring. He's just kind of a boring
dude. Like, yes, hewas part of the most successful not a
show that I love very much, but nonetheless, I mean its entire personality
on that show is that he likesserial and Superman. Great. Now I'm
gonna get about Superman and Jerry Seinfeld? Did they did they weave? Again?

(46:35):
I am one of these people whohave maybe only seen about thirty percent
of Seinfeld. Uh was he reallyinto? Was that part of the thing?
There was a whole episode that wasbasically a Lois and Clark riff.
Uh like, and like he constantlyreferences Superman on it. I not constantly,
but like regularly enough that it isa personality trait. Vinny, what

(46:58):
do you surprise about people like Superman? Well, like, turns out I
like Superman. I'm not passionate aboutSperman. Yeah, you like You're a
Batman guy, right? You like? You like the Batman. If I
had to choose like my one superherothat I'm always probably gonna give a fuck
about, it's Batman for sure. What do you think? What do you
think as the Batman. I don't. I've never seen him as it I

(47:19):
think. I mean, I tome Ben Affleck as Batman just would just
kind of seem like stiff in aweird way. He's pretty stiff. Uh
he's older though, Like it's actuallyan old Alex is right, he's like
an older like he's divorced Batman.Yeah, he's right, so is it?
So it's more like what's it called? What was that book? Where

(47:43):
like it's like the Reagan one.I don't know, Batman Superman like having
a Pisso and match. I don'tknow. You know what I'm talking about.
It's like the nuclear he like preventsnuclear war or something. Barely read
any DC comments. I was growingup, I was mostly a Marvel and
he was like or extent image guy. Uh someone in chat will help me
out in in a minute when theycatch up. But uh yeah, Batman's

(48:08):
my guy for sure. Like thosethose Burton ones, h those are intouchable,
institutionalized me in a way that uhthere ain't never going back. I'm
never going back. What else isgoing on in the old Batcave? What's
going on by you? Uh?Had a nice week? Uh you know,

(48:29):
hung out? Uh? Yesterday, had a nice birthday. Uh,
spent a lot of that with you, Vinny, So that was special.
Thank you happy, So thank you. That was fun. Thanks everyone to
reached out. It was a nicelittle day. Yeah, you know,
streamed Guns and Roses one last time, saying goodbye to that game as I

(48:53):
teased last week, and uh,goodbye to the jungle. Yeah, more
welcome. It was a big goodbye. Uh and yeah, what what did
you have for dinner on your birthday? Oh? Okay, Jeff's birthday dinner.
So you know, I'm like abig snack guy. I love snacks,

(49:15):
but I'm also attack right, andI'm also someone who like doesn't is
very conscious of like, well, those snacks are real good, but if
you have a lot of them,it's like having dinner at two o'clock.
So you don't you want to overdoit. So my wife, who's very
who's who I describe as like thebest gift giver. I know, she's

(49:37):
so good at it. She's justskillful. Yeah, admittedly I am admittedly
terrible too. I never know whatto get anyone, even if it's like
sitting on my face I have,I still can't figure it out. I'm
not giving that to you as agift. Again, I gave that to
you as a gift two years ago. Then you just did not appreciate it.
He didn't even realize what was happening. Yeah, that's my point.

(49:59):
U. Yeah great, I thoughtwe were going to talk about that.
But uh so she seems really unappreciated. Yeah, and you heard me clearly.
Uh So, she's she's so sosweet. She she like she knows
all the little things I like.So she put together this like ridiculous what

(50:22):
I can only describe as like asnack tray. It's like all my favorite
things because look, this is mysecond quarantine but not quarantine but but pandemic
birthday. The first one was justlike how long are we gonna be like
this? Fast forward a fucking yearand it's like enough already, let's just
do it. And she did thiswhole like snack or ay thing. My

(50:44):
kid was so stoked about it.He like woke, it's your birthday.
This is so great and he's like, you know, the two weeks leading
up to it, he's so excitedto give me his gift that he got
me. He like, you know, he has he literally like puts his
hand on his face because he thinksit's just gonna somehow leak out of his
mouth that he's unable to control it. And I open I open up the

(51:06):
gift and I'm like what. I'mlike, oh, thanks, buddy,
this is what is this? Sohe goes remember like a bunch of months
ago when I was asking you whatyou want for your birthday and I was
like yeah, and he said, and you answered marshmallow pants. And I
was like, I said marshmallow pants. He's like, yeah, dude,

(51:29):
that you said marshmallow pants. SoI take out of this bag. He's
like, you know, hang aroundlazy, you know pants that just got
a bunch of marshmallows and s'mores allover it. You want just what I
said? I don't remember saying that. Perhaps you misunderstood what I said,
but I don't even remember what Icould have said. I think I'm adorable
that you got marshmallow pants. Ithink it's adorable, adorable that you give
your kids a credit card to justgo buy. I gotta get a line

(51:52):
and type in marshmallow pants, here'syour credit card information, and just send
us to this house. No,he actually called up on the phone and
read the number on the phone,So that was super cool. But no,
I had a couple of friends comeby and deliver some some beer,
which is becoming kind of a traditionwith some of my friends on birthdays and
stuff. So that was really cool. Ads that supports some ads with Vinny

(52:15):
got new garage doors. I'm gonnachalk that up as a new birthday.
That's fun. Are they they're theAre they insulated? What's what's so new
about these garage doors? They're notmade of wood and are not actively rotting
to fucking deaths. Okay, that'sprobably better than uh, they're they they're
still getting installed right now, soI was worried about the banging going around,

(52:36):
but I can't hear that. No, they're cool. They're like,
uh, they're so quiet. Newgarage doors are so quiet. They're like
whisper quiet. You can't even tell. Marty doesn't even know when they open
now and everything. It's wild.He used to lose his mind when that
thing would open, and now hehas no idea. It's pretty cool.
It's pretty cool. Yeah, sostuff like that, you know, that's
fun. And you know, II I love Snap so much that I

(53:00):
kind of feel like I don't know, I just want to like I almost
want to do like a snack, like a snack thing. If like if
the three of us all tasted thesame snack, yeah, and talked about
it for five minutes, would youwould you want to share snacks with me?
Because I love weird snacks that peoplehave like not heard about, like
super special snacks. We did somesnack stuff early in the bomb Cast days.

(53:23):
I'm a fan of eating weird stuffand some sis. I don't like
fish stuff I don't like. No, No, we'll we'll we'll all sort
of discuss this behind closed doors anddecide what are the parameters and the limits
of like you know, you know, sort of snack perversions, and we'll
keep it in check. The micalso a little bit, no, so
you know you just you just sortof move the mic. Yeah, everything,

(53:46):
put everything, and we put themin a bowl first. You don't
get the crinkle on that. Yeah, we will prepare this in a way
that makes a lot of sense. What's your what's your go to? You
got one bag to pick out.It's a it's a lazy saturday. You're
by yourself. You don't have toworry about your hands. So these days,
I'm really feeling these like parmesan crisps. They're like these they look like
almost little rice cakes, but they'relike cheese based, really good. Yesterday

(54:10):
she got me these they were calledlike tie crisps or something like that.
It was like it was like arice cake but with toasted and a roasted
sesame seeds like all up in it. Oh that's all right, who like
really feeling I'm a big nut guy. Give me like cash, Give me

(54:31):
that nut put gay once one daya week, twice on Sunday, give
that to me. Give me liketoffeed candied or just traditional cash shoes.
But you know what I missed Imissed in the city, Like even though
I would never really get him,I missed the smell of that nuts for
Nuts cart. Oh yeah, doyou know what I'm talking about? Those

(54:52):
hot steamy nuts. I love thatso big fan, big fan. And
how about a trash snack you're inlike you're in a you're in a bodega
or a deli, pure trash snack. That's a good question. Trash snack
for me is probably just straight uplike peanut M and m's. I know,
that's like a candy. Yeah, but uh yeah, give me trash,

(55:15):
Like now we got the Easter Reese'sEggs coming out, and I'm a
fucking filthy pink of garbage with that. I'm a big peanut butter chocolate guy
for sure. You men like Dustygiven had dusty bag of Combos that's been
sitting down there. No, no, yeah, that one that says,
uh the one that the Bodega catsbeen laying on. Yeah, that one.

(55:36):
Yeah, blow the cat hair offand it's real indentation on it and
just sort of like they don't evenmake this flavor anymore. Huh yeah,
yeah, it says uh, itsays it says you eat by nineteen seventy
three. Oh why is this theold Combos logo? I can redeem this
for a free ticket tonight at themuseum. All right? Uh, should

(55:58):
we take a break or you gottayou got anything else you want to talk
about? That was just your birthdaystuff? Anything else got going on?
Back? Alar Uh No, notreally. I've building a couple of keyboards.
I'm gonna stream it with or withoutyou. Uh, And I've got
two set ups. I'm building onefor a friend and then one for myself.

(56:20):
That maybe I'll just give away.I've got this one right here that's
like almost just needs to be soldered, so we're gonna do that. Uh.
And then I've got like the keyboardsfrom Mechanical Keyboards dot Com that we
got to do. So I'm inthe keyboard zone, baby. And if
we have good keyboard question for youwhen we get to the emails, so

(56:45):
say some of that. So we'lltake a break and we'll come back with
the news. How about that soundsgreat? Here we go, make sure
you hear everything. Uh, stickaround, folks. Uh, we'll be
right back. We've got some adsto play, so stick around, and
we're back in a few and we'reback. Hello, everybody, Welcome back

(57:13):
The Giant Bees cast by Alex Navarro, Jeff Backlar. My name is y
Caravella. What's up, Jeff Backlar? Who's that? Here's the snack trace
she made me? Oh, you'reholding up if you're listening to the audio,
holding up a very nice It's likea if i'm describing it looks like
a large tup aware with a littlecups little like a little muffin cup muff

(57:35):
uff yeah, cup cups with it'slike there's a name for that, and
I don't know what it is likewith a little or doorsion. Well you
can tell it's fancy because it's guyshredded. It's got your taxes in it,
just shredded up right. This iscalled quality right here. That's how
you know. That's how you know. It's a very easter like the grass,
like like an easter thing going on. Yeah. So the cool thing

(57:58):
about it is like yesterday, I'mlike working and I'm just like I'm snacking,
right I look away, it turnedaround. It's refilled perfectly. It's
magical. It just refill. Shewas sneaking in here like a little I
don't know why and just with likeseven bags of refills putting it generally eat
in your your little office space there. But yesterday was my birthday, so

(58:20):
I was allowed to do that.Oh yeah, I also didn't tell you
guys. I got my US remindedme. I got my first COVID vaccine.
Snicker. Oh yeah, show,I got COVID. Thank you for
not holding up your car. GotCOVID shot. You got your COVID shot
in Jersey? Where the New JerseyI think Jersey is basically are you breathing?

(58:45):
Then you're eligible. Yeah. Imean on on Monday or like two
Mondays ago, they basically opened upeligibility to like eighty percent of the state.
Yeah uh if Yeah. I meanyou know, I've I've I've talked
to a bowl nurses, her,a friend, and they're just like they
just need everybody to get a freakingshot right now. And I'm like,

(59:05):
well, look, you know Iwant to make sure I qualified. And
I sure did because I learned aboutbmies. Yeah, and I have a
BMI of just under twenty six, which is overweight. Oh yeah, and
I therefore qualified to get my fauciauchi in in real, real short order.

(59:32):
You know, I don't qualify.I just I'm just too fish.
Oh. I left so hard,I got like I got like a stasm.
So here's the thing, right, like a BMI right, Like,
look, i know I'm not theepitome of health by any stretch, but

(59:55):
like, if I'm considered overweight,yo, some of my friends got to
like really take a look at what'sgoing on. B M I is also
maybe not actually for determining health, but what I get that. But like
I'm with you, I get whatyou're saying because it got you your shot,

(01:00:15):
just just just roll. But Alex, like you know, it's one
thing to be like you recognize it, but like I don't know it.
Maybe it is. Maybe that's maybeit is a good way to measure because
when we do I'm not a doctor, we're not doctors. We can't say
that, right, Like, Idon't know either way, I'm not a
doctor. Doctor. I'm aware.I know you're a lawyer, but you're

(01:00:37):
definitely not a doctor. Uh anduh, well, I'm very jealous.
I my qualified, Vinny, youcan get it. Well, thanks,
that's a that's a backhanded way ofsaying that maybe you should check my weight,
but thank you very much. Yeah, no, you get it because
it's also handsome people. Thank you. Yes, right, I forgot qualify.
Some people in Jersey all tend ofus save Meanwhile, I'm just across

(01:01:00):
the river, and if I'm notat least fifty years old, I still
can't go get my ships. Becauseso what I'm doing is I'm keeping an
eye on sign ups. My townhas sign ups, and I'm waiting to
see when they don't, if there'syou know, availability, if they're if
they're filling up immediately, I'm lettingit just go. That means that people
are obviously very much in line toget it and desperate to get it.

(01:01:22):
But if there's if it slows downand there's more availability over time, Right
now, they're still they're still goingout in like, you know, five
minutes right that, the slots arestill going because I'm in a pretty good
place now. All my loved onesand the people that needed to get it
that I know got it. They'revaccinated, people that had health conditions,
people that were older, and I'mnot going that many places aside from that

(01:01:42):
stupid office. So yeah, assoon as there's availability and I feel like
I'm not taking somebody else's spot thatmight really need it, then I think
I'm man, I'm first in line. I want. Yeah, I don't
think you'd be taking I don't thinkyou'd be pushing over a senior citizen to
get it. I think we aremaybe past the range for the most I
think I think we're getting close, and they were getting close. I just
said, like I said, mytown, they're still going pretty quickly.

(01:02:04):
So people are Why is it likeyour town. I don't I don't think
that's how like you don't have todo that I don't have to do that.
No, I've gotten emails from likethe hospital and stuff like that.
Yeah, that's how. That's howmy wife got it. We had signed
she had signed up through the medicalpractice that we like, the group at
large, and they were handing themout and yeah, it's good. Most

(01:02:25):
of the people, most of thepeople I've talked to that really needed one
have gotten it, that had theunderlying health stuff. And it's I don't
know too many people now that havebeen at least and I guess maybe it
could be very lucky and on peoplesituations around are different that have been really
actively trying to get one that haven'tbeen able to get one around here thankfully.

(01:02:46):
You know, it's New Jersey's atough state. A lot of people
in a small spot. Yeah.Yeah, yeah, So when you got
your follow up coming, Yeah acouple of weeks, two weeks, right,
Uh no, the one I haveis a month in between, uh
maderna. So yeah. The otherthing that that makes my situation a little

(01:03:07):
different too, in your situation too, Like, I know you're scared of
shots. I love shots actually, but our kids, my kids, my
kids, my kids are not.So it's so we still you know,
there's no there's no one for kidsunder eighteen currently. Yeah, there's no
like timeline on kids. I feellike, but I think they're testing just
think they're testing kids over twelve ormaybe they started doing that. Yeah,

(01:03:29):
so it still means like our kids, whatever we're doing, we're still gonna
have to protect our kids from it. As if you can't just run around
without a mask, which is notwhat I would do anyway. I'm just
saying in terms of we still havetwo unvaccinated people, that I will be
wearing a mask for the rest ofthis year. Minimum. That's the bare
minimum. I think. I thinkI would not wear a mask with my

(01:03:49):
my, my parents or my inlaws if we were all vaccinated inside that
Yes, that makes sense, that'spart of the guideline. Yes, uh.
And also we might eat inside.Finally. Yeah, well, you're
gonna get your shots and then you'regonna come over and we're just gonna like
play pinball. No I don't know, six feet apart. Yeah, well,
he's got plenty of pinball machines. So he says to put two of

(01:04:10):
them back to back, you playon the outside. All right, let's
get into the news here. That'sgood news, Jeff. Good for you.
Good, good for you, Goodfor you. Don't forget to set
that appointment. Make sure it's notThursday, Okay, Alex. What's going
on the news? A fair amountof things. Actually some of them are
quicker than others. But you know, we're just we're gonna, we're gonna
work our way through these. Here. I am leading off with a change

(01:04:33):
in branding. As we all know, I love I love the brands,
and I hate it when the brandschange. But the brand is changing here
Xbox Live, Xbox Live. Thisis how we have known the Xbox Online
ecosystem for many, many years, eighteen in fact, but that is going
away in the near future. Itwill be referred to exclusively as the Xbox

(01:04:55):
Network. All names sound bad atfirst, so my initial reaction is it
sounds bad at first, So giveit a minute here, en, well,
PlayStation network already that they kind ofhave that one. Yeah, I
thought, didn't you guys think didn'tWe didn't? We didn't. We talk

(01:05:15):
about how we all just thought itwas going to be just game pass everything,
right, Like, yeah, well, I think that will refer like
game pass and all that stuff.Gold what have you will all refer to
their subscription services. The Xbox networkis going to just be Hey, this
is the network on which all ofour online services, when our marketplace,

(01:05:38):
our online service for games, allthat stuff. So I guess in a
way, they are kind of differentiatingbetween the thing you subscribe to to get
video games and the thing you connectto to download and play video games.
But also, did that really needthat? I don't know. I mean,
I'm just very accustomed yeah right, yes, I'm very used to.

(01:05:59):
Hey, we can't reach Xbox Live. Xbox Live is down, and you
know it's Xbox Live is dead.Yes, but now it is dead,
but it is much more descriptive.I guess to say, hey, Xbox,
the Xbox network is down. Ican't connect to anything. The online
isn't working because Xbox network is down. Nobody want to know. I don't.
I never say PlayStation network. Ithink I always say PSN, PSX

(01:06:20):
them. So I guess XBN XBN, that's that works. They didn't somehow
fuck that up. XPLN. Yeahyou got that XBN. I no,
No, I don't. Okay,Well, when when is that in effect?
Now? No, it will bein effect in the coming month.
Sometime this year that that s whicheverwill happen Xbox Live. When I give

(01:06:42):
Xbox Live, I want to sayI did have worked on a video.
I don't want to say I didbecause I might have worked on with a
bunch of people for anniversary at XboxLive at Game Spot, and that team
is very talented, at least fromthe inn views I saw in Man,
kudos to that Xbox Live team backin the early days. I want to

(01:07:04):
say they a lot of really smart, forward thinking people with that service.
Uh, go watch that video.I don't know what that video was.
I remember watch the video that Idon't want video that. I don't know
what it is, but it's probablyby me. If it's really good,
that's all. Look for an XboxLive documentary and if it's really really,
really really good, then I'll justassume credit for Yeah, all right,

(01:07:26):
what else? Uh, Jeff hatesthese stories, so I'm going to do
one. Uh, this is aslight update on potentially what will be inside
that their new Nintendo switch that theystill haven't actually said they're making, but
they are almost definitely making you hateit when we talk about these stories because
they're like, I don't know itcould be anything like that cares about the

(01:07:48):
chip size and the flaw. Yeah, we don't know until they say it.
We don't know. You've said thisbefore, Okay, I mean I
don't remember a lot of stuff Isaid. But I'll go obviously, I'll
go along with it. Okay,Yeah, go along with hating them.
So there's a Bloomberg report out asof this week. It adds a little
bit more information on what might actuallybe under the hood and that thing.

(01:08:09):
It sounds like it will be anupgrade Nvidio chip that will include the deep
learning super sampling technology. Yes,so that is I my understanding how they
will be going about out putting somefour K into your television when that thing
is docked. They are also bandyinga potential price of this thing at three

(01:08:32):
hundred and ninety nine dollars. There'sone other part of that that we should
talk about. Okay, talk Well, I was just gonna say, who
is bandying? Where's this coming from? Bomber Bloomberg? But like, but
like Bloomberg is getting out of terminal, the terminal, the terminal where I

(01:08:54):
don't know. They're reporters, youdon't, Yeah, they're talking to people
guys in the supply chain. There'sa guy on a boat right now,
full fucking to do, but talkabout what's going on? What's in these
boxes? All right? Just curious? All right, continue please just well,
Jeff, Jeff, what did youwant to say? So? Uh
did you mention? And also anupgraded chip like not just it was an

(01:09:16):
upgraded end video yeah, but notthe GPU. The there's they they apparently
there's gonna also be a beefed upCPU. Okay, maybe more maybe more
memory and there somewhere, Uh,there was a talk, a rumory kind
of talk about the notion of possibleexclusive games for the for the pro as

(01:09:42):
in games that will only run onthis Now that's how I understood it,
which you know, that's the wayyou can go. That's the way you
can go. I feel like I'vealready now made I have I've already now
made the recommendation. We've switched theclock. We've now moved the clock couple
of hours forward, and we areno longer recommending the current Nintendo switch as

(01:10:03):
a bye. We are now declaringit a weight and see, so if
you are in the market for aNintendo Switch, and we are to believe
this report from Bloomberg. I wouldsay, why don't you wait? You
waited this long to get a switch. You can wait a couple more months
or like seven and us coming outright now. I mean, unless you're

(01:10:27):
really hot for Mario golf, youcan probably wait goodbye? Can it for
a little bit? So what doyou got? You got switch pro?
Where are they gonna call this thing? Switch? Plus, they haven't said
I have again, Nintendo was notsaid. They haven't said shit. They're
not saying shit. I saw grubwrote a story who also had a birthday
this week. Have a birthday,Jeff grub Man, it's aric. Yeah,
you know that. I found thatto be interesting, so speaking at

(01:10:51):
the Jeff birthday so close to mine. Don't know what that means. We'll
unpack that at a later date. But both of my parents' birthdays or this
week two huh. My my dadwas on Monday. My mom's is today.
Birthday, Alex, you'll appreciate this. I have the same birthday as
the motherfucking undertaker. So my sonSatday is coming up this week. See

(01:11:13):
this is something something good's happening. My stepdads is on Saturday. All right,
you know what I'm sorry to thinkpeople have birthdays all the time.
Yeah, weird. H. I'mgoing to interject here for a second and
say that Bloomberg says, this isfrom people familiar with the matter. That
is their people. Look, Imean like you do when you do report

(01:11:38):
colon, you're you're putting a bitmore behind that. Please do not report
on my Colon says, uh,this says I like this line said quote
said the people who asked not tobe identified, said the people because they
say this, same guy said, harmonized who it's not to be identified because

(01:12:00):
the plan is not public. No, but uh, I think the idea
of yeah, I think the ideaof an exclusive, I don't know.
That's that's a tough one to splitthat market. That means like you might
have Nintendo make one or two,or the contract the third party to make
a couple of games, but itwill not be this is Nintendo. Yeah,

(01:12:25):
this is everyone. I feel likewe just don't realize this. Places
don't split their market Nintendo. Nintendosplits their user base. Oh you're saying
like, you guys can't buy this, You guys can, or this only
works if you have the expansion pack. This only works if you have the
extra memory. This only works ifyou have the works if you have the
weird extra analog stick that you boltonto the thing. Yeah, this only

(01:12:45):
works if you have the motion plus. This only works if you have You
know, they have split their userbase user base a bunch of times.
Let's say, I mean, maybethey will, maybe they won't, But
I would not get that. Iwould not I would not place money on
man all the games are now forthe pro you know, I would bet
that it's a like, yeah,I don't think it's gonna be overnight.
A switch is flipped, nice nicelike you. But I think DLSS is

(01:13:13):
like the most no brainer thing I'veever heard for a portable that looks like
the switch for a console, fora hybrid console that the switch is.
This makes total sense because DLSS,Yeah, it's fucking it's fucking dark magic.
It's like it's like, I don'tknow, I played Cyberpunk in d

(01:13:34):
LSS, I play. I meanit seems to be this sort of like
witchcraft, right, like it is. It does really impressive stuff. It
is AI. It it uses AIto to sometimes have something display better in
d LSS then it's native display. So is it pretty much just a small

(01:13:58):
I'll read up on it. Butit's deep learning super sampling, I think,
is what it? Yeah, it'sright right, but is it?
Is it mostly like a very it'sa it's a more complex compression algorithm.
That's like, hey, I canlook at this image, and I don't
know if the exact category, theright category to throw it in is compression.
I don't know. I'll look atit offline, and all I know

(01:14:20):
is whenever I hear the term, all I want to do is just the
fucking the evil scientists from Mystery sciencetheater thing and just say deep learning.
Here's don't remember the deep hearting.I remember the deep hearting. I remember
when I was first when Nvidio firstlike briefed us on it the tape,
like the thing that I, youknow, thought of right away when I

(01:14:42):
saw it in motion was just likedoing more with less, right like.
And that's and if you don't careabout the super you know intricate details of
how it works. I think that'sa safe takeaway that you can get from
what DLSS is without needing to knowexactly how it works. But I think
I've watched those it's if it's acrump scale. It's like a fancy upscaler.

(01:15:02):
It's a fancy compressor. But I'llgo look it up. It's all
this and more. Oh okay, well I look what it works. And
you've used it too, like you'veseen the net benefit. Yeah. Yeah,
uh that's that's why most like nowat this point be like, Okay,
maybe this thing is is not tresseffects, and maybe we're here and
maybe I'll take some time to actuallylook it up now because it's not going
to go away. Yeah, SoI look forward to hearing more about this

(01:15:28):
mythical switch that apparently has more detailson it and the other console that out
or imagined. At this point, what's going on with Reggie speaking of Nintendo
mythical beings. Yeah, this isa quick one, but I'll just an
update on the saga of Reggie Fismeand his time on the game stop board

(01:15:48):
that is coming to a close. He got that stock up now he's out,
like he did his job. Wellhe's out before the squeeze. Baby,
he's at. He pumped it upand was like, got your stock
up? What else you need?I'm not holding the bag. Here's the
thing all right. As we allremember Reggie joined the board I believe last
year sometime, and he was quotedas saying, the gaming industry needs a

(01:16:11):
healthy and vibrant game stop. Theproblem is to create a healthy and vibrant
game stop, they had to pumpit so full of drugs that it is
now basically unrecognizable to anyone. Sohe's out as of June, I believe,
alongside I believe eight other board membersof game Stop, including some various
CEOs of other major corporations in theUnited States. And they're walking up.

(01:16:34):
This isn't They're like sticks and they'relike being planted in front of the gates
or something. It's hard to reallytell what's happening here. It seems like
this is a voluntary we're stepping down, but it probably has to do with
the fact that nobody really wants todeal with this mess anymore if they don't
have to. So Chad in Wisconsinrunning the last like like open the game

(01:16:56):
stops. You're in charge now,Chad, Okay, yeah, I don't
know. All right, they stillthey still have a CEO as far as
I know. But whatever's going onwith the board there, people are are
are jumping ships, so kind oflike Hudsucker Proxys thing happening over there.
It's okay. He will find somethingelse to go, some other board to
go sit on and and be veryrich. So Reggie will be fine.

(01:17:19):
I'm sure Reggie will be fine.I've never had a doubt about Reggie.
It's that Game Stop. I'm alittle worried about. Yeah. I think
worrying about Game Stop at this pointis just that's unnecessary stress. No one
need it in their life. Yeah. I think I haven't ordered in with
them for something for shares or agame better off stock. No, it's
not for stock. No, Ithink I think I have. I think

(01:17:39):
I bought the like Ecto one transformerpre ordered from them at some point,
So let's see if that gets hard. I feel like that's the last thing
I bought from them, too,was the toy A toy? Yeah it's
not Func pop but yeah, yeah, I mean, all right, Reggie.
Hasn't this news, This Reggie newshas not I affected their stock.

(01:18:02):
It affects nothing. Yeah, Ijust I just like talking about Reggie because
we so scarcely get to do itthese days. At the risk of at
the risk of talking about this, what is where is their stock currently,
it's very up and down. Now, it's kind of been in the hundreds
for a while. It's at one, it's at one seventy eight today it's
up fifty percent, Okay, fiftypercent, it's the whole stock fifty percent

(01:18:29):
today, and then a couple ofdays ago is down forty percent. So
it is the most it is movingforwardly. It is moving so much that
you can't even it's moving so muchyou can't even like plot a trend.
It is like it's like the sensationof being in a bounced castle that a
kid vo it's an actively rupting volcano. Also like, yeah, it's a
ride. It's just you look atit over like the last month and it

(01:18:51):
looks like a fucking i don't know, like some mountain, like a mountain
range. Yeah, like it isjust yeah, buddy, all right.
Well, speaking of things jettisoning anddisappearing, this sucks. So as of
Monday, there was a report cameout that Sony will be shutting down the

(01:19:13):
digital store fronts four, the PlayStationthree, the PlayStation Vita, and the
PlayStation Portable as of this summer.I think that's sad news, but I
also did not know they were stillopen. Yeah, well they were only
opened in very limited capacity, Likeyou couldn't really get to them, I
think through like you couldn't get toPS three games through the main market places
or things like that. You kindof had to work your way into them.

(01:19:36):
And I don't know, like Iget it. You know, you're
not supporting these systems anymore. Theyare discontinued. They are not making more
of any of these. But alsothere's a lot of digital games, especially
on the Vita, and I kindof hate that they are just removing the
ability to access those things for peoplewho want them. So is that what

(01:19:59):
this means is it means you cannotaccess your digital purchases. Ors that mean
you can't you if you already ownit, Yeah you can't. That's fine,
But basically you have to go ona buying sprey soon because they will
not be selling any of those thingsanymore. All right, Well, here's
here's possibly the silver lining. Theywill sell those to you on another platform.
They will either will be right now, some of them, they will

(01:20:21):
remake. They will once they're theywill, they will take their franchises,
they will put a code of painton it. Maybe if you're lucky.
Yeah, like they're not going towalk away from it forever. But they
But that's the thing though, JimRyan is very much not in the same
ballpark as like Microsoft is when itcomes to their backward compatibility and you know,

(01:20:42):
sort of the merits of keeping oldgames in that ecosystem. Like he's
the guy who said, yeah,I watched some people play some PS two
games. I don't get it.I understand that people will play that stuff.
Yeah, I'm just I think they'regonna I think they'll package look for
furs. Furbisher says, coming toyou know, PlayStation whatever. Man,
Frobisher is dead. Oh my god, what does that mean? Frobishers Robisch

(01:21:06):
is dead. Save me, buyme please? He was free. Uh
yeah, I listen. This isour digital nightmare, right, Just go
buy those games, whatever games youwere thinking about buying for your PS three
or your Vita, you know whatever, qumds you can fucking pull off of
game flies, you know, closingfucking it, close out sales. Just

(01:21:29):
get whatever you can. Man,that ship's all going away. Yeah yeah,
yeah, okay. But one thingSony is also doing that is not
involved shutting things down, and it'sinfect an investment. Uh. This happened
I think the day after we didthe Beast Cast last week. Sony is
buying Evo the fighting game tournaments. There you go, it'll come to a
PSP. It's just Evo. Itjust Evo yet Evo. What's they're buying?

(01:21:54):
Evo? Yes, them and acompany called RTS, which I believe
is an East sports organization. Theyare they've basically created a co investment where
they are now the co owners ofthe EVO Fighting Games tournament. Was Evo
independent before this? Technically yes,I believe it was the play on Sony

(01:22:16):
platforms from now on. Well soI Jeff talked a little bit about this
when it would be briefly touched onI think on the hot spot last week,
and it was like the vast majorityof games that are played at EVO,
I believe are played on PlayStation hardwarealready. Because people don't want like
a widespread of like controllers they needto bring with them and other stuff.

(01:22:38):
It tends to just kind of unlessit is something that can't be played on
PlayStation. My understanding is that theymostly use PlayStation hardware anyway. Now,
the thing this does for a Wrentionis like, what do you do with
Smash Brothers at this point? DoesSmash Brothers ever come back to Evoke only?
Yeah, it doesn't intend to onlyrun their own tournaments from now on
for that stuff. And look,I'm giant Smash fan, Like, it's

(01:23:00):
not the thing that I come tothose tournaments to watch, but there's a
huge fucking fan base for that ship, and it's it was a big component
of those tournaments. Yeah, Iwonder how much I wonder how much Sony
puts their thumb on this one.Are they just kind of hopefully give it
to some people, Like do theyfund it, they try to make money
off of it? I wonder howmuch they try to blanket it with PlayStation

(01:23:24):
stuff? Is this this is Sonyor this is like PlayStation of America or
Sony Entertainment bought this it's Sony Entertainments. Okay, yeah I think so.
Yeah, Like I want to howmuch PlayStation branding they put in here,
or if they just kind of sitback a little bit and they're like,
okay, listen, I bet therewill be a lot Like I would certainly

(01:23:45):
if I were them, I wouldcertainly use that opportunity to be like playing
on PlayStation five on literally every fuckingbanner I could, but I don't know
if I was them, I wouldalso not necessarily look to create roadblocks to
other teams that people want to playat those things, right. Honestly,
to me, the greater likelihood feelslike Nintendo would be like, yeah,
we don't want to do this anymore, because they were always kind of weird

(01:24:08):
about that stuff. They've never beensuper great about, you know, their
involvement in independent tournaments of any kindlike reluctant or like kind of like,
uh, they kind of had tobe dragged into it. They like pull,
didn't they say, don't do it? A couple of times there were
times, and especially any time thatthey tried to do something that involved melee

(01:24:29):
and like using hacked net code oranything to sort of like make that viable,
they would always step in and belike, fuck that no, so
interesting. What's the current status ofEVO. So there is supposed to be
a tournament this year. I thinka lot of it is going to be

(01:24:50):
online, if not all of itin August, and they've announced a few
of the games that will be there, which are just some of the kind
of the obvious heavy Hitters. Okay, Station All Stars the headlining. Yeah,
obviously, I look, now isthe time, if ever there was
a time for them to bring backPlayStation All Stars and this is their day.
What's that Car Combat one that justcame out on a PlayStation Oh the

(01:25:14):
Destruction All Stars. Yeah, yeah, that's in their weird lineup this year.
Yeah, all right, evo evou. These last few are just some
some quickies here. Uh. There'snew Hitman three DLC that has been announced.
Uh. It is a series ofnew missions all each one is based

(01:25:35):
on one of these seven Deadly sins. If you're into thematic stuff, they're
doing that, but it's not newmaps. It sounds like they will be
doing reworked versions of the existing mapsand like you know, I think you
know, NPC placements and all thatkind of stuff to kind of create new

(01:25:55):
stories out of those existing environments, which isn't completely surprising considering one they're working
on that Bond game now, andit kind of sounded like they were mostly
done with Hitman for at least awhile, so they're gonna keep supporting it.
They're gonna keep you know, newlist of targets, and they're doing
this DLC. But those maps arereally resource intensive from what I understand,

(01:26:17):
and I as disappointed as I amthat maybe it doesn't seem like there's any
new maps coming on the horizon.I kind of get it, and at
least there's something here. So butyeah, this the if you want all
of the DLC uh, it istwenty nine ninety nine for all seven missions,
and then each one is being soldfor five dollars apiece. So these

(01:26:40):
kind of sound like escalations, thiskind of yes, okay, okay,
so okay, yes, five dollarsper escalation. I hope they're good.
Yeah. I mean, look,I I keep checking in on that game
from time of time. You know, I'll just I'll poke around, play
a couple of maps here and there. I'm still having a lot of fun

(01:27:03):
with it. So, and they'regonna run stuff, and this will run
through only Hitman three maps, right, This isn't pulling in one or two
stuff because people don't. I thinkthey have to do that because they can't
guarantee that people have the other ones. So yeah, I hope there's a
what's in the box? Reference?Yeah, God, that'd be great.

(01:27:25):
Uh yeah, maybe no Kevin Spaceythough, and then, so let's see
that. Also on the DLC front, Assassin's Creed. Valhalla's first expansion has
been announced. You're going to Irelandif you want to go to Ireland.
So they're gonna take it to Ireland. Hope. I hope it's seventy five
hours. Hope it might as wellbe. So it's called Wrath of the

(01:27:46):
Druids. Uh. It involves yougetting gaining influence with Gaelic kings uh and
and dealing with some some perhaps supernaturalnonsense. On top of that, it
is a twenty five dollars standalone item, or if you have the forty dollars
season past, it will just bepart of that. And you know,
there's I have some reservations about that, not because I don't necessarily want them

(01:28:12):
to do DLC, it's that everytime they seem to update that game,
they seem to make it more broken. Okay, so I'm not I'm kind
of crossing my fingers that this doesn'tjust melt whatever console you have whenever it
comes out. So we'll see.I almost uh, Valhalla was almost the
ones I picked up. It's like, what should I be playing now?
But then I got the fear inme. I got the scared eason when

(01:28:34):
talking to you, Rory's put likea thousand hours into it. It's too
fucking long. It's just it's toolong. It's maybe this DLC sucks time
away that something else. That's right, the first DLC that just takes time
off of the game, which justgoes in there, and yeah, I
call this the more reasonable DLC.And I know if I got in there,

(01:28:56):
I would wind up trying to doeverything. So a little afraid there.
All right, now it's us therea couple of last quick hits here,
Human Kind, which is a thethe CIEV like that was announced a
little while back that had some youknow, i'd say, it's had some
very promising looking notions about how tokind of do a slightly different spin on
Sieve. That was supposed to comeout next month, but it has been

(01:29:18):
delayed, albeit not a terrible delay. It is coming to PC and Stadia
on August seventeenth instead, so itwill still come this year, but it
is not coming out next month.Okay. I am personally very much looking
forward to that one because we arenearing the end of SIEV six's big DLC

(01:29:39):
push and I'm ready for something different. So what's what's his last one?
Uh? This last one? Sothis is funny. So Ghost of Sushimo
was very successful for PlayStation for Sony, sold, according to this story,
six point five million copies since itcame out. Yeah, but so there

(01:30:04):
is apparently just bringing the whole looparound here. There's apparently a Ghost of
Sushima movie now in development. Uhthat is being spearheaded by director Chad Stahelski,
who you may know as the dudebehind John Wick. But okay,

(01:30:24):
so there you go. Here's what'sinteresting. Let's let's just lets yes,
yeah, that's the thing. We'restarting with a video and so we're starting
with a Kua Kurasawa who made alot of very beloved Samurai films. We're
talking about a game that drew alot of inspiration from those specific films.
And then we're loving back around toa white guy making a movie set in

(01:30:45):
Japan that's based on a video gamesetting in Japan, made by Americans,
based on movies made by a Japaneseguy. It's it's a it's a what
a tale? Do the math that'shere? We are it's that is some
Scott Steiner math. And let metell you it equals out to maybe we
don't need to do this. Idon't know. I like Chad Stahlsky,

(01:31:08):
I like the John Wick movies.I've also seen The Last Samurai. Do
we really need to do this?I don't know. I don't know.
I don't know. Maybe this isanother one of those things that will end
in development hell and it will neveractually come out, or maybe it'll turn
up to be a great movie.I have no fucking idea. I just
like it's a funny tale, regardlessthe game has been out a year,
not even a year. Yeah,I got those options quickly, scoop them

(01:31:30):
up. Yeah, I mean,I don't think whenever look the first half
a dozen reports about a game turninto a movie, you can sort of
just oh, they're always bullshit.I know. Flick off the table there
when you start, when a castingbegins, is that when when you see
your production still then you have agood idea that when someone is on a

(01:31:53):
set somewhere in a costume, there'sa decent chance that that thing will actually
come out. Okay, when theprinciple for Dog for You commences, you're
somebody's usually getting there gonna make thatmovie. There charted that an uncharted movies
start filming. Yeah, that thingis mostly filmed. I think. Okay,
point, okay, that's that's gonnacome out because it's also got Tom

(01:32:14):
Holland talking about like I probably shouldn'thave done this movie already. Wow alone
that that wasn't that wasn't going.I heard that as well. He might
have been goofing, but like hedid say, it isn't say like Mark
Wahlberg is Sully, right, Yeah, I think he was just saying that,
like I, he didn't love theidea of being sort of the hunky
action hero role, like that wasmaybe not a thing that he was super

(01:32:36):
into doing it. But yeah, listen, could you sign up for a
bro? That's right, That's right, Come on, it's gonna be you
got you gotta be a boy likeme? What are you gonna do?
It is just hug just people wantto cast you. I mean, this
is a whole podcast full of hunks. We all know that. That's right,
that's right. We're a hunk qualifiedendorsed podcast. Two hunks hanging off

(01:32:59):
my hips, trying to so wego into we go. You know,
there's a there's a there's a movie. We're a guy deals with that.
No grossn alex aw, it's threeis the first actually the first DLC.
All right, we're gonna go takeanother break. Here, we'll be back

(01:33:20):
and I gotta bring this thing backup. We're gonna be what did you
do? And I'm crossing seven withuh what did you do? Radioda in
uh oh, good fell good Fellows? Yeah, yeah, what did you
Garry? What did you do?Coming in what didn't you do? O?

(01:33:45):
My favorite? A lot of yellingin that movie, so much Ryan
Davis and I would just scream thatback and forth, so much yelling you
do? All right, we've gotso much yelling. Okay, there we
go. I'm sure my kids arevery happy with all this. There.
We gonna take a break. We'llbe right back. And we are back,

(01:34:17):
and it's time for emails. Let'sget you know, I'm excited time
for you. No, it's it'stime for the emails because you know,
we we we wanted to talk abouthow more special of a relationship I could
have with with Giant Bomb. AndI'm happy to say that in twenty twenty

(01:34:38):
one, I now have access tothe Giant Beast cast mailbox a GEM and
I can actually see what comes butcomes in. I see I get notifications
every time one of these emails coming. I cannot believe how many there actually
are. You guys in tell methis? Can you get it on the
phone. So when I was achange in twenty twenty one, and here

(01:35:01):
it is. So when I wasout, because I'm such a good person,
I messaged it because I knew itwas gonna be out, and I
said, it's I'm gonna be outhey, because Alexi was the only one
who had access, and I waslike, well, I'm gonna make sure
that Alex isn't the only one whohas to pull emails. So I said,
all right, can you put Ithink I put Jan and back Lar
on it. And then they didn'tnot no offense to them. I'm sure

(01:35:25):
they had other stuff to do,but they didn't. I got an email
I think it was Friday after theshow went up. That's like done.
So now Backlard's on the emails thing. And then I went in the emails
today, I'm looking at throw themand there's all these like intermitt anyone that
says pinball is red. Everybody anybodysaid pinball is like marked as red.

(01:35:45):
I'm like well, yah, you'rejust so Now Backlard, you can help
us out in pull emails every week. I'm not sure that's the takeaway from
this change. I feel like whatthe thing is though, is that if
you just want to run me alittle some some if you just want to
put like four Jeff in brackets ordid those to you? Always? I
always, oh, you do youdo? You do? You do?
You do? But don't forward theone that's say for Jeff, hey,

(01:36:06):
you're smelly poopoo. And then Ididn't forward those. But now you look,
you have a question about it,Biday, come to me. You
have a question about pinball, Youcome to me, and I will create
a fancy little rule set here inoutlook so that I'm just gonna filter out
all the other so you know, junk oh all the other beast cast emails.

(01:36:27):
Okay, that came up thrown away. Yeah, so next week,
Backlards pulling emails. This this wasmy accent. I thought that's not official
yet. I thought we had towait on something that yeah, to be
access to the inbox. So congratulations, you got it. That's you got
it all right. If you havean email and you want to say,

(01:36:48):
get to fucking work. If youhave an email and you want to backlard
and read it, probably go background. You know you can't also ret click
on those and say Marco's unread. So you make it my life a little
easier when I'm going through it andbe like, there, I look at
this one already. You could dothat, but you did. I don't
know. Also, maybe your brainworks the right way and you just like
remember things you already read before.I know, I was impressed. I

(01:37:08):
was impressed with the quantity. Anyway, if you want to send an email
to task, you can send itto beastcast at giant bomb dot com.
That's beastcast at giant bomb dot com. Don't send an email that says backlard
smells like poop. I don't wantto read. No, just brackets again,
guys, before he talks again inbrackets for Jeff. Just do it.
You'll get right to me, allright, right back, all right.
I need to change the password onthis inbox. I did not need

(01:37:29):
it. For the record, Idid not. Hey, I got one
already. I uh, that wasgood. Stop talk, stop talking.
I didn't need a password to getin here. Just why would you say
that? Live on the air.Why would you say that as a thing
one that you would say live onthe air. How what are you talking
about? How does that? Ohsomeone else hit someone out there being like

(01:37:54):
yes apparently once I'm signed hell ohoh goody, gum your eye. Consider
it's a list of people that canaccess the inboxs. Do you think they
put them sing? Guys put themselveson that Listen like Lily, this fucking
email. Look, look they gotDLSS. I think they're important. Somebody

(01:38:17):
must have been talking about Superman again. All right, if you got an
email at the beastcats at giant bombdot com, bestcats at giant bomb dot
com, remember no password. Thisfirst one coming in from Stephen, you
can tell I picked them this week. So I'm gonna read this one here.
Actually, alex wyn't you read thisone from Stephen? Okay, first
one here from Stephen. Hey bescrew. Ever since Vinnie said he started

(01:38:43):
playing Destiny two again, I've beenwondering NonStop about his choices in game.
What class Hunter, Titan, Warlockdo you play? What class do you
play? And what are your favoritesubclasses to use? Golden Gun, Giant
Void, Bomb of Death, runningaround covered in arc energy, et Cetera's
on the current season story. Forthe rest of the crew, what classes
do you play? If you stilldip in to Destiny too, Let's start

(01:39:05):
with you, Vinnie, since youwere the target. It's great email.
Good job, Jeff, thanks forpulling that one. Yeah, so I've
been I play as a warlock.I've been really loving that Malfeason's hand cannon
I think it is. It isa great gun. I usually run that
and an SMG lonesome. I can'tremember the other SMG I usually run with,

(01:39:27):
but that is uh if i'm that'smy slot there, and then I
run around with the guillotine sword mostlyunless I'm switching over to a heavy machine
gun or something in my big boyslot. I run void mostly unless but
I'm now that they have fleshed outthe Stasis stuff, I actually am starting
to enjoy Stasis a little bit more. Some of the upgrades on Stasis are

(01:39:49):
pretty cool. To chain stuff onStasis is pretty good, so I've been
using that a little bit more. But usually it's a big old void void
bomb for me, because I dolike the the voidability that lets you get
your health back on Melee. Ilike that I run with a glove that
lets you get to melee abilities backto back, and that thoughts on the

(01:40:11):
current season story, it sounds likeyou're going around, you're just killing all
these head han shows from that thecabal wants to recruit, so you wind
up. I don't know this,this season's thing that hasn't really grabbed me
that much with their little war tablething and you kind of run around.
They're like, now go, youknow, put some emblems in your hammer
or gold in your hammer, andsmash your chest at the end of the
thing, and like, that's allright, it gets it gets me moving.

(01:40:33):
But I did enjoy that job.I enjoyed the epic quest they had.
I thought that was actually really good, the one that was inside that
derelict ship. All right, that'sit, okay. I will say,
very briefly, for myself, Ihave not really played any Destiny too since
the last time we streamed it forthe site as a group. I was
very into the void warlock business backthen, and I probably still would be

(01:40:55):
if I were still playing. ButI am absolutely not still playing okay at
all, at all, at all, Jeff, you don't even need to
go to me, Yeah, noteven nothing. What class do you think
you would play? I don't rememberwhat they were. A hunter, you're
definitely a hunt. Hunter, Tightener, Warlock, you're a hunter. I'm
hunter. Yep, you're definitely ahunter. Yeah. I thought about going

(01:41:16):
hunter when I when I first startedout, but I just I like the
Warlock too much. Titan is theonly one that has never really held an
appeal for me. Yeah, yeah, alright, alright, alright, I
see, Okay, listen, Ijust don't, I just don't pull the
mouths for me Backlar, I wantyou to read this next one from Andrew.
Andrew says, Hey, Internet guys, I enjoy listening to Jeff and

(01:41:40):
Vinnie talk about soldering keyboards quite abit a few weeks back. Started to
look into my first mechanical keyboard thisweek and pulled the trigger on a ducky
one too mini bon voyage. Asto me, it resembles the original Gundham
colors. Okay, okay. Asfor switches, I got silent reds.

(01:42:01):
My question for Jeff you mentioned youwere quote far beyond basic switches. Dude,
what more is out there? Whatare you working on? Tell me
your secrets? Wow? That iscertainly a loaded question so when you say
you got Silent Reds, I'm assumingyou got Cherry Silent Reds. The keyboard

(01:42:27):
community in the last five years orso, I'll say, has exploded in
ways that I really can't sort ofdescribe. Again, I have only in
the last year really dove back towhere I back into where I was a
couple years ago. But you essentiallyhave now more than a dozen companies independent

(01:42:53):
companies sort of throwing their hat intheir ring with their custom switch sort of
efforts. So the days of Gadaronand and and Cherry being sort of like
the top two are gone. Andnow everyone wants to perfect the perfect bump
in a tactile switch, and someonewants to make you know, the spring

(01:43:15):
weight on this be different, andthe and the shape of the bump on
a tactile switch. Maybe it's asmoother shape, maybe it's a rounder feel,
maybe it's however it is. Youcan pretty much get anything you want.
Here's the catch though, And formy money, I feel like at
this moment, and I have beentrying out a lot of switches over the
last few months before my money rightnow, I think you can you can

(01:43:41):
make the safest bets with UH There'sa company called Novel Keys. They make
switches that I really like. They'reusually abbreviated NK. There's a company called
Zeal that makes uh more expensive switches. They're Canadian baste and trying to think

(01:44:02):
what other. Oh and and theKey Dot Company or t KC for short.
They have some really really good switches. And also now we're getting into
like cool looking switches even though they'regoing to sit under your key caps and
never see the like, oh yeah, t KC make They have a fruit

(01:44:25):
line, so there's like kiwis tangerines, banana splits, uh uh and uh
and dragon fruit, which is mymy new favorite of theirs. Are there
equivalents if you are looking for youknow, Red's browns blues, like do
they kind of like say, hey, this would be equivalent to this.
Are they completely different? Yeah, there's uh, there's different. Uh.

(01:44:45):
I mean you can get like theone to one comparison. There's plenty of
like information you know wikis that thatshow you like spring weight and then actuation,
and you can sort of find theone you want. I mean,
but you know a lot of thesepeople will lube them. Now, so
take him apart and you love him. But this is like what a dragon
fruit switch looks like, little pinkpink switch with a white stem. This

(01:45:09):
is this is a really kind ofsmooth pack to like, Oh yeah I
hear that a little bit. Yeahthat sounds like so yeah it's pretty that's
that's gross. But yeah, theseare the dragon fruit ones. But yeah,
these are how much has like abeen of those? How much is
a whole a full keyboard? SoI'm working with t KC on a project,

(01:45:30):
so they so they sent me these, but I think you buy them
in packs of twenty five. Okay, this is this is probably like a
hundred right here. Okay, yeahyou don't you don't how much twenty five?
I'm like wondering if he's like afour hundred dollars, it's like fifty
bucks. How much a dime baggo for? What's that? What's a
dime bag go for a dime bag? Well, if we're just I mean

(01:45:53):
that depends on where you live. But they're switches. I want to say,
go four in groups of twenty five. You can get yourself, uh,
twenty five switches for sixteen and dollarsand twenty Okay, that's that's that's
reason. Yeah, zeal like thecompany zeal I mentioned before. They're they're

(01:46:15):
they're you know, they cost moremoney. You're almost looking at a dollar
switch with those gays. Ask youthis, tough guy, Let me ask
you this. I'm tough. What'sup? Yeah? Has anybody made variable
weight or variable bump? Like youyou have a slider or something on the
key? How could you do that? You resistance hydraulics. I don't know,
but you're saying like in the actualswitch itself. Yeah, yeah,

(01:46:38):
yeah, round dude. These theseare cheap. These are cheap little things.
Make an expensive one that it's like, oh, okay, you want
stiff, I got it. Ohwhat you do is you when you build
your board, you can you know, or if you have a hot swap
board, which is that you takeout switches and pop in new ones,
you can change the feel of thekeys all around the board, Like a

(01:46:58):
lot of people will build a tactileboard like this one, and then maybe
for the space bar, put ina linear switch for the space bar.
Oh man, me personally, Ilike a uniform kind of thing. But
but that's all preference. But yeah, I hope that answers the question that
this listener had Andrew. Those aremy secrets. That's that's when you ask

(01:47:23):
about what are we? Where arewe beyond basic switches? There are so
many switches out there. The thingthat sucks about it is that there's so
many that you you won't know whatyou like until you actually touch the things.
You can get like a switch tester, you know, keyboards, Well,
something like this that a friend ofmine made me where I know which

(01:47:45):
each one of these has a littlebreak it. But here's like the banana
split. You see that. That'swhy they call it banana splits. Pink
purple, pink, purple and bananaspink and a banana split is it's like
strawberry ice cream. Yeah, that'sthat's the strawberry. I scream the purples,

(01:48:06):
the bullets in and there's the banana. The banana stand. You go
with it, all right? Theylook Yeah, so this kind of looks
like warrior to me, it doeslooks like a little warrior thing. Yeah.
But anyway, I'm very much intothe keyboard stuff. As you know,
I'm gonna I'm gonna do a streamvery soon and we'll build some stuff

(01:48:27):
and we'll talk some stuff. Yeah, I love we got some. We've
got some rapid fire questions here tokind of cleanse the palett a bit.
This comes from let's trap you guys, ready, you just shout these out
right and we'll gotta keep moving here. It comes from Travis Storry for some
rapid fire questions. Potatoes or sweetpotatoes, potatoes, potatoes, mac and

(01:48:51):
cheese or spaghetti spaghee. I'll takea mac and cheese. I think spaghetti.
Okay, Metroid or Zelda Zelda, these are two children removable forces.

(01:49:16):
Shit Metroid okay, outer space orthe ocean? Outer space? Outer space
okay? Ketchup or Marinara. Wait, you should not be using those interchangeably.
Those are not He really should notbe putting ketchup on things you would
use Marinara for. That's not agood idea. Yeah, but I mean

(01:49:36):
ketchamin mustard wouldn't would be the samething, but Marinara and mustard would not.
I want to say ketch up moreversatile, but I would miss Marinara
more. Yeah, yeah, specialto me, That's how I would.
I would go as well, Christminfrised the Marinara and be just fine Christmas.
Oh, I know this Backlard's answeringthis Christmas or Halloween, Halloween?

(01:49:57):
Halloween? Okay? Wow, uh, Jim or Levigne, if you got
it, I just go. CanI just leave? Probably Coachma, I
guess in a knife fight. Whatis that question? I guess I don't
know which developer is more. Idon't know, just don't have to answer
it. No, yeah, uh, tortilla or potato chips. Potato chips,

(01:50:25):
tortilla Okay, none chucks or bowstaff none, chuffs both. I
would injure myself terribly with maybe slightlyless with the bow staffs. I'll go
with that. Fruits or vegetables.Fruits, fruits, yeah, don't get
wrong. Pizza or tacos. Ohboy, that's a tough one. It's

(01:50:46):
a tough one. I said, pezz and then I was like, oh,
I know these like these are likeif you had to pick my my
food pyramid. These both sit atthe top of the food pyramid that they
are the ones that are pointing towardraw, you know, to worship.
So it's very hard to choose.I'm just going to be slightly off,

(01:51:10):
you know, just just just tobe dissenting. I'll say tacos. But
they're both amazing. Food. Iwould. I would trade almost all the
other food in the world for both. They're very good. They're very good.
Okay, here's another rapid fire one. I'm just going to read because
it always feels good to be ableto just answer a question that we get.
This one comes in from Chemo fromPhoenix, Arizona. Finny. I

(01:51:30):
would also like to say, youdidn't answer a lot of those No,
I didn't because because I was readingthem and then I wanted them to be
a rapid fire. Yeah, allright, it's a mystery. We'll never
know Metroid or Zelda. We'll neverknow where I fall. Yeah. Uh,
keep me up. Keepa Chema says. I recently picked up a cheap
little cheetour Beast Wars transformer from mylocal grocery store on a whim, and

(01:51:54):
now I'm flooded with nostalgia. I'dlove to splurge on a high quality version
of him, or maybe another BeastWars figure, as a gift to my
nine year old self who could neverafford it. Are there any third party
manufacturers or a certain run of theofficials toys that I should look for if
I want something intricate and detail.Everybody who knows out there is notice is

(01:52:17):
just shaking their head, is maybesaying, Vinnie, don't answer this question.
Just say no, Just say no, Just say no. Responsible thing
to do is say no, justsay no. But what I'm gonna say
is the answer is you're looking forMasterpiece MP thirty four cheetour, which is
the actual Takar told me Hasbro Masterpieceline, and go look that up and

(01:52:42):
apologize to your wallet. I believethat it might. I think there might
be a pre order for that.I think it's coming back around. I
think they're re isssuing it again.I'm not a big Beast Wars fan.
I don't think all the Beast Warsstuff looks silly to me. But but
yeah, good luck, God blessLook if you need inspiration, put the
video on, look at the shelfbehind me, and just no, it
doesn't end. It never ends,No, clearly not. It doesn't end.

(01:53:08):
All right. You can't even seea lot of them. No,
no, they go. And there'ssome that are just like, you know
you're getting bad when they're something thatare just like I don't have a spot
for this anymore. Okay, let'sAlex, why don't you take this one?
From Joe about being online. Surething, Joe says, when I
hop on to play games, Itypically default my visibility to appear offline.

(01:53:30):
I'm a pretty introverted person and myjob requires me to talk to people all
the time. When I'm done withwork and my wife and child have gone
to bed at getting an hour ortwo of games into relaxho I fall asleep
is a common occurrence. I getanxious receiving game invites from friends because while
I love an a door my friends, playing games doesn't have to have that
same recharging effect when I have tobe on Mike holding a conversation. So

(01:53:51):
rather than deciding if I'm going toignore the invite or tell them thanks but
no thanks, or something, Ijust stick to appear offline most of the
time. My question, how doyou approach your visibility or online status when
you want to play something alone ifyou keep your visibility set online? How
do you handle invites from others whenyou don't want to play a game with
them at that time? Uh?Huh? How how often do you appear

(01:54:15):
as offline? Alex? Frequently?I do because I do, and it's
it's not really because I'm necessarily tryingto avoid game invites because I will say
I keep my friends list pretty tight. Yeah, it's mostly people that I
know I would want to play somethingwith it. It was going to come
down to it. And I don'tget a lot of RANDO invites from people
that I don't really know. Veryoften. It's more just a I just

(01:54:42):
want to be in my cone ofseclusion. I'm you man, you know
what I mean. Yeah, liketotally. Sometimes you're just like, like,
nobody's gonna message me, nobody's gonnaprobably you don't care. But like
then I just want to I justdon't want to be seeing online. I
just no one needs to know thatI'm ticking over my eight hundredth six you
know, like that's not important forother people to be aware of. Yeah,

(01:55:04):
And sometimes I'll do it if I'mlike, you know, if I'm
playing a game and I'm just outthere to do a grind and something,
Hey, I just I'm just gonnagrind this out. I don't want to
get pulled into a party. Idon't wanna get doing anything. I'm just
out there to go do my grind. I gotta get five hundred of these
things that's I'm spending doing my Fridaynight, and I would feel bad telling

(01:55:27):
somebody that, hey, what areyou doing? I see you're playing.
Yeah, I'm just grinding this thingout come joining this party. Okay,
you're right, this is stupid, right, So yeah, sometimes I'll appear
offline. The bad party is.Here's what happens though. I see you
though, is it because we're friendsor I don't do it all that often,
But like you see me when I'monline, you don't see me an

(01:55:48):
appear off line? Right? Sohow do you know? How would you
ever know? Sure? Well, some games, I want to say,
some games in the in game menuwould show you as in. Maybe it's
only if you're in a clan togetheror in a party, or you have
partied up before. I feel likeif you had set to offline, I
feel like division did this. Ifyou're in a clan or something and you

(01:56:10):
were set to offline, but yourclan members would see that you're in the
game. In the game, theycould see you, which was always like,
oh, this is now awkward.Or sometimes I'll get an invite from
somebody. I'll get an invite frombacklard that's like join my voice chat,
Like, dude, you're offline you'renot online? Oh right, yes,
yes, okay, yes, no, I'm actually not online, just kidding

(01:56:31):
by uh yeah, Like when youforget you're marked as offline, you're like,
oh, hey, le's let's goplay like you're offline? What are
you doing? There shouldn't be astigma around it, but there kind of
does feel like there is, Like, hey, I don't want you to
know my I mean, you know, I think I think by now they
would have figured out the right wayto do it. There's something that it's

(01:56:54):
just not computing with like the perfectway to do it, because I want
to peer offline do every one butlike six people. You know. How
you do that is you keep yourfriends list tight, which is what I
do. Like that. You know, I have like more people on like
probably PlayStation and Xbox than I doon on Steam. I keep my Steam
list literally just to my close friendsbecause otherwise I do just get all higgledy

(01:57:18):
piggledy, and I don't need thatin my life. Yeah, I don't.
Yeah, And sometimes it's like Ijust I just want I don't want
to be I don't want to talkto anybody. I want to talk to
me if I want to talk tosomeone. If I'm open to it,
I'll usually be playing on consoles. If I'm not, I'm on Steam.
Just leave me the fuck alone.Yeah, and also, I don't want

(01:57:39):
to feel I would feel bad ignoringthe request, so I just I don't,
but I just I try to saveus the hassle. Yeah, all
right, that's gonna do it forthis week's show. We Oh, we
do have one uh one correction here. This is actually kind of a nice
correction, so I would be happy. Yeah, let me let me get
the old business up here. Holdon, let's do it. Play that

(01:58:03):
music at time? Yeah, Ithink so. Let me just remember how
to do it. Actually we didtwo when you weren't here, so okay,
it's been a week four corrections. You've got a correction. You can
send him into Beastcast at giant bombdot com. That is Beastcast at giant
bomb dot com. Alex Navarro, why don't you take this one from Sophie

(01:58:27):
Sure thing. I was listening tothe latest beast Cast last week's and you
piqued my interest when you mentioned thegame moundon and that the voiceover is in
a Swiss native language. While Alexwas partially partially correct in calling it a
Swiss native language is actually not Germanbut Romans, the kind of obscure fourth
national language of split of Switzerland.Only about forty four thousand people, roughly

(01:58:49):
zero point eight five percent of thepopulation in Switzerland, speak it, but
it is still recognized as an officiallanguage for state documents and such. Also,
maybe as a question, or youware of any other games that you
is such really obscure and maybe dyinglanguages for their settings. I don't know
any off the top of my head, but I will say that I said
this last week, and I doappreciate it. I think Mundawn using that

(01:59:10):
language, I assume that it's specificto that region you were playing in and
not just doing an English dub ofit, I think goes a long way
to creating a good effect for thatgame, Like it feels like you are
in the damn Swiss Mountains, andI appreciate that. All Right, what
you guys got up to last week, We're going to the Swiss mountains and

(01:59:31):
crazy shit happ Man calls some troublewhen the When the Popham bears away the
Cubs, Swiss will play burn thefucking house down. Baby, don't don't
do that. Uh, that's gonnado it for this week's show. Hey,
I get this one out of therail right at the top here.
If it's a birthday, happy bird, apparently a lot of a lot of
birthdays, a lot of birthday's happening. I gotta call my mom. It's

(01:59:54):
a birthday, Happy birthday. Wegotta figure out what we're gonna do for
around two of the old Young OnsCOVID parties, you know, like this
is the Around the Morning again.Yeah, I thought you're talking about the
young Ones the TV show. Nowthe young Ones, young blood. We're
doing something interesting. I'll tell youabout it. Okay, interesting interesting for
his kids? Yeah? Wow,alright, I felt like given this year.
