Seeing it's own, Jeff Backlar.Everybody knows you're working from home.
This is you don't have to clarifid. Yeah, it's it's just a little
(01:17):
different now I changed jobs. Yeah, I'm sorry, yeah, hold on,
hold on, hold on right, correct directions. Actually there was something
I was pretty excited about, uh, with this, with this move,
(01:42):
with this change of moving over toOkay, sorry, I don't want to
to the games to the Games group. I don't want to. I don't
want to harsh your boys. Here, Hold on a second, let's okay,
I could just if I could justshow you what I mean. Watch,
just watched this glare. It stoppedmoving. The chair no longer rotates,
(02:12):
no longer rotates. But you know, in retrospect, a rotating chair
is kind of comfortable. So Iregret everything. I kind of want to
turn here. Uh yeah, it'svery exciting, very excited. I've I've
moved over to the games group. So it's not exactly like a Giant bomb
(02:37):
specific sort of thing, but ofcourse, you know, Giant bombs a
big part of this games group. So let's say we're part of the Games
group. Here we are, anduh, you're still playing some some fun
tunes. No, that wasn't Thatwasn't me. I think that was just
something. I think that's just thefust. That's just like wow, is
(02:58):
that just a s Is that justthe nolways you always hear when you're over
here. Yeah, I'm very excited, super exciting. What can I say?
Maybe it's been a long time coming, maybe it hasn't, But would
you say it's been a long roadgetting from there to hear. Yeah,
if you want to join Giant Bomb, you have to say that. So
(03:19):
why did they kick you out ofSina? Okay, well all right,
if you really want to get downto business. Had no choice. But
I had no choice. I triedlocking in one day and that didn't work
there. So, uh, Ihad nowhere else to go. I had
nowhere else to go. My keystill worked over here, that's right.
(03:43):
I got real lucky. I openedthe door. I hid in one of
the boxes that you and Alex packedin the studio, and when they unpacked
it, they're like, I guessthis belongs to the Games Group. I
was like, what do you do? And that's my house? Put a
sticker on it. We found thisbacklard in their studio. Does this belong
to you? Yeah? Okay, yeah, yeah yeah. Put them with
games you know. I used totell people it's nice to feel wanted,
(04:03):
but in this case, it's niceto have a place where you can put
your stuff in sleep. So well, good luck to you, sir andngratulations
on your move over to the GamesGroup. A lot of a lot of
fun things in the Games Group thereare. It should be very exciting,
very interesting and uh yeah, it'sit's going to be an interesting ride for
(04:27):
where do you want to give peopleyour email address so they can attack to
you shoes or problems? And no, no, no, no, that
is that is not what this is. I just want to get that out
of the way. Just if thestream is hitching or you know that's audios
out of sync. Oh there's yourguy that I really need to reread the
(04:48):
job description because that is I saysomething wrong on real quick. Look that's
spec Look to get in touch withJeff Battle or his email address is mister
Hockey at Joe dot com. Yesit's a it's a mister blue line at
GeoCities dot com. Uh if yahwho webmail? If you want those time
(05:09):
stamps in your podcast, baccalo.I've been asked, I've been asked a
few times about how this came tobe. And you ever see office space?
Yeah, I think most people have. You know when Milton is like
still getting checks but he's really notsupposed to be there. Yeah, yeah,
(05:30):
you know I do. I wouldn'tsay my situation is that dissimilar.
Now I'm kidding it is not okay, but imation and I'm the basement.
Uh well again, congratulations, Alot of roll up them sleeves on your
little hockey shirt there. It's cool. I don't really have a lot of
(05:53):
long sleeve shirts, so that'll workout really easy to get a long sleeve
shirts so you can roll them up. You're listening to the Giant Peace Cast,
as you well know. Despite despitethis back lard guy here, it's
still the show. You know,it's freaking guy, this freaking guy here.
I played a odd World, ohthe new one. A play that
(06:15):
new odd World? All you wantto talk more about you? Yeah,
go ahead. Well I always liketalking about me. But wait, I
didn't realize I was even out.Let me just say, let me the
games group, but have been busy. But uh, let me just say
I've been busy with games grouping.Okay, No, no, no,
I think not noticing that an oddWorld game came out is actually very much
gamer culture. No, I wasgonna I was gonna say, kind of
nailed it. I was gonna say, not not having time to play games
(06:39):
is the most games group. Thatis true. Oh, were you win
like eight hundred meetings? Let's say, yeah, well that's a high seven
hundreds, you know. Uh,soul Storm, Odd World soul Storm,
the Alex. This is a funbit. So if I'm gonna ask you
or back lard, if you openup a browser and go to the Odd
(07:00):
World soul Storm, let's just say, go to Wikipedia. I would just
love you to read the development studioson this game, because, uh,
this this was maybe not that abnormalor odd World, but holy fucking but
it was a weird thing to seethat if you if you find it,
(07:21):
oh my god, that's like seventeenstudios. Do you just read them on
for me? Odd World developed byFat Cracking Studios, Titanium Studios, Sabotage
Studio, Big Boat Interactive, FreeRange Games, Supersed Studios, Streamline Media
Group, and System Studios. Publishedby Odd World and Happenings. Is this
(07:46):
like a like a bit? Isthat like part of the joke? Is
that like a joke? It's likethe ep list on the episode of the
Office, like listen to a lotof work gets into getting odd. So
I played odd World soul Storm.I think it's okay. I think it
is very reminiscent of the original adWorld stuff. But if so, it's
a game where you play as Abe. It takes place I think really shortly
(08:07):
after that is new and tasty wherethey kind of repackaged or we did a
lot of the original Odd World stuff. I think, so until the new
game it takes place. After that, you are the story and set up.
There is the Moodawkins, who arethe race of enslaved workers there are
being turned into food by the overlordsthere. And who's eating them the other
(08:33):
people? Yeah, the overlords profitsare down, so they have to make
a new product, and they justhad to make them you know a little.
What we've got here, what's ourresource? Some Madakins anyway, Odd
World, lighthearted, fair anyway.Abe sets them all free from UH and
then UH, he's got to goset them free free some more UH in
(08:54):
here. Basically it's clunky, it'snot it's clunky. You do this by
this kind of two point five Dscroll moving you know, left and right
world. As you move Abe around, it's a lot of stealth some puzzles
in there. The coolest part Ilove is when you can kind of chant
(09:16):
to possess an enemy and then takeover take over their body and kind of
move them around open doors and shootother things with them. I really enjoy
those parts. Of it. Idon't love the stealth parts. I think
the aiming when you throw stuff isalso not very good. Like I said,
it's clunky, but it still hasthe charm is still there. If
(09:37):
you haven't played, if you haven'tplayed one of these, you might want
to look at our quick look andsee what it's all about. If you
have played one of these, andyou probably kind of know where this is
gonna fall on your if you ifyou remember it, how it's gonna fall
the It's available on PlayStation five andthe Epic Game Store, n PS four.
(09:58):
It's on PS five plus, PSfour plus, so also, if
you buy the PS four version, you get a free upgrade path to the
PS five version. If you buythe PS five version, you do not
get the PS four version. NowI'm I mean, I maybe misunderstanding that,
(10:18):
but I looked into it a littlebit, and that's what I could
get out of it. I'm notsaying there isn't a certain level of sense
in that, because presumably if youare buying the PS four PS five version,
you maybe really don't need the PSfour version. It is also that
is a little weird. It wouldit's weird. It's because it shows up
in the store as forty nine. It's fifty dollars forty nine ninety nine P
(10:41):
five forty nine ninety nine PS five, PS four, So it is a
It is a little bit like whywouldn't I buy the old that went on
the right there? You get alittle bit more for your money. I'm
an American. I like a biggerhamburger. Last question, how well marked
is that? Because, boy,we know that at the PlayStation Store has
not always been the best about communicatingwhat version you are downloading. Or boy,
(11:05):
when I went to the PSN anda browser went to PSN and a
browser to double check this information,it's pretty well mark if you had a
little PS five TAS four PS fivetag. But it is just kind of
confusing. Okay, again, freeon PS plus if you have a five
and PlayStation plus, so that isnot just free. You don't just get
the game for free. So yeah, I've played a bunch of it.
(11:26):
I'm gonna keep playing it. Playedit a little bit this morning because I
am enjoying it. I think thecheckpoint stuff, and those who have played
it, hear me out. Letme know what you think the checkpoint stuff.
I wish you can manually checkpoint byclicking on the little checkpoint icon when
you pass it. There are pointswhere you run pass a checkpoint and then
have to engage in a pretty longsequence of puzzle solving, which you can
(11:50):
blow at any second, Like youcan mess it up, and then it's
a lot of stealth and waiting,so you're gonna have to wait for timers
to go down again. Once yourestart that checkpoint, you can pick it
up what I'm putting down like out. Yeah, Like imagine hitting a checkpoint
and having to wait, you know, twenty seconds for a wheel to spin
around to the right position and thenyou can move no before you have to
make a tough jump or something. Then you die and then like you just
(12:13):
re checkpoints and you have to waittwenty six sounds dumb. So it'd be
nice if you could like hit thecheckpoint and then you know, the wheels
moving and then just go back andjust hit the checkpoint again to get to
a spot because there's a lot oftrial and erin. Like I said,
things can go sideways pretty quickly.I've also hit points where you're trying to
save the Maducans and they'll be intow and you know, you don't want
(12:35):
them to get shot or killed becauseyou're trying to do this well, and
you know you'll you'll hit a checkpointright as one's dying, and you're like,
I can't reload the previous checkpoint, and now I have to restart the
whole level of phone. Some stufflike that kind of clunky. I've also
heard reports of bugs in it thatI have not necessarily encountered, but some
some game stopping bugs, which canbe tough. It's a it's a it
(12:58):
can be a little punishing up pointsat that point. It'll test your test
your patients. So you know,I'm curious to see what other people think
of it. It is of atype those games I did enjoy the first
two. I think they got alot of traction in Europe. They seem
too. I kind of put likeOld Odd World in kind of the same
(13:20):
vein as like Medieval you know, yeah, those kinds of well regarded but
not necessarily extremely popular PlayStation games ofold and look shout out to them for
continuing to keep that thing alive. And it like Soul Storm itself, I
think it's been in development for atleast like five years or something. So
it's been a wild wild that they'restill making those. But you know,
(13:43):
Lauren Landing is not done with Abe. But it seems like I think I
might have just I was looking overand I think I clicked on a window.
Sorry if I just deleted your commentfrom the from the chat, I
was just trying to I was tryingto refocus the thing. That's at my
intention. I don't know how toundo that. The mass is over there.
(14:03):
That's how close you are to deletion. At any moment you are,
you are out of focus, windowaway. I also was looking at my
notes. I also finished That's OddWorld soul Storm, the new Odd World
game again fifty dollars on Epic Storeand on PS four ps five. Sorry
about the comment may be deleted tothe live thing. And I also finished
(14:26):
Dishonored. Oh good, yeah,I really Dishonored. Saw a super long
game. I thought it was gonnabe a much longer. The kind of
ending just kind of rolled up onme and was like, I think two
is longer. Okay, yes, oil, I don't know. Whale whale,
whale Oil. That's a game thatgets better as it goes on,
(14:48):
especially as you get more and morepowers, it gets to be a lot
of fun. And uh, Ithink once that game clicked in my head,
I really didn't enjoy it. It'sabout the second or third time time
I tried getting into it, andI still don't like a lot of things
about it. Half the powers,if you're trying to do a run where
you don't kill a lot of people, are useless, like they're mostly death
(15:11):
powers like hey, kill these peopleturn into ash when you kill them,
or the swarm of rats will devourpeople. And I'm like, I'm trying
to kill as few people as possiblein this run. So but that,
but that being said, I thinkyou probably wouldn't get enough upgrade points to
do. Maybe you can. Somebodyelse who is a very those dishonored heads
out there could let me know ifthere are enough runs to upgrade all those
(15:33):
powers. I tried to collect mostlyall of them, and I don't I
don't think I would have made itto upgrading all those powers. So it
is a focus. It's gotta followthat that heart thing, yeah boom boom.
I do hate that. Every timeyou pop your your vision and it's
lies whatever it is it says eyesor whatever it's like, dude, I'm
popping this thing like every every timethe cool down goes. I don't need
(15:56):
to so annoying. This is creepy. Yeah. I liked it that the
blink is so fun, like gettingthat blink and upgrading it and just blinking
behind somebody. And once you gotit, there's a bone charm for choking
people. I had very fast. You just blink behind somebody, choke him
(16:18):
out, and then throw them, throw them that off the cliff because you're
not trying to kill him, throwthem into a corner, and then blink
away. That's that's a fun game. I gotta figure out which DLC I
want to get into or just gointo two. If there's the two two
DLCs for the first one that Iwas looking at, the dowd Dodd,
(16:40):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Did you guys
played this hun or two? Ihear that's the one that's the one you
know played both. I have notfinished either. I don't think. Okay.
Uh. The only thing that stoodout to me that I remember specifically
from two was like that impossible room. The portion in two that was it
(17:03):
was like the root like constantly shapeshifting house or something that's control is what
you're talking. But yeah, thatwas definitely a memorable thing. I think
in two for me? How old'stwo now? Uh? Six months?
(17:26):
Twenty fuck out of here? Sevenso seven years? I gotta I gotta
look it up at this How oldis? How old am I? But
how old is the first one?Because they did that like definitive first one's
twenty eight two was twenty sixteen,so five years. That's actually way uh,
(17:48):
that's way younger than Dishonored was twentytwelve. If if you're listening to
this and you've played Dishonored one,the kind of nice edition it does run
very nicely in the load time.Kind of nice addition, the kind of
nice edition. Yeah, by theway, put a pin in that because
I'm ill if I'm getting that akind of nice edition. Yeah, I'm
(18:10):
buying it, Like that's that's offered, sign me up. So in the
fair fairly good addition. On theXbox, what are we on now?
Series X is the Xbox Series X, there's a thing where if everybody's played
it, because I did not finda lot of this online, there's like
(18:30):
a thing where if you get hitor you possess a rat or something,
the screen goes red or sometimes grayin a way that doesn't recover or takes
ages to recover, like minutes torecover. But if you hit like the
back button to pull up a menu, it'll go away, or if you
hit start to pull up a menu, it'll go away. You get this
like you get this like hit jellyon your screen. That's like, yeah,
I get it, But then itjust doesn't go away until you kind
(18:53):
of pull up a menu like seventimes. An each time you pull up
the menu, that goes away alittle bit. And I looked it up
and you know, it just wasn'ta lot there, and it makes sense
for a game that's very old.I don't know if I'm the only one
playing Dishonored. It was like, wow, it's time for Dishonored. It's
funny when games, uh, youplay very old games on very new hardware
(19:15):
and like the loading screens haven't achance to even sit there for a second,
or like there's information on loading screensand you're like, oh, I
bit back in the day, peoplewould like read this like it's just a
blip, you know. So thishas the thing where it's it sits there
until you push a but it's almostinstantaneous, like it runs incredibly well,
I'll say on that Series X ina way that made it very nice.
(19:38):
Do we still do that? Weknow we don't do that. That's we
don't Okay, okay, dude,if you gotta ask, my gosh it
sometimes we're still doing that. Isthere are things that there are things that
just like trickle down that are justlike on the way out that the garbage
shoot right and they're just like whoa, whoa, whoa, go left,
go left. Well, I feellike, well, you know, because
we're not doing it anymore doesn't meanyou can't do it. It just means
(20:00):
that everyone else isn't doing it.I feel like now it's it's like you
know, when like a meme comesback around and it's like a meme because
it's a meme kind of thing.I feel like maybe that's where that exists.
Sure, so good for you,Vinny, you've unlocked. You've unlocked
that seal. That's right, weget ready for pestilence next. So yeah,
(20:22):
dishonored an odd world. That's what'sbeen taken up my time. I
really enjoyed dishonored. You were allright, not you, Jeff or Alex,
everybody who is. Yeah, Ineed to actually go back and replay
those and like play them the wholeway through, because I always liked what
I played. It's just one ofthose series where like I played it for
a while, I dug it,and then something else came along and I
(20:42):
just never went back. Speaking ofdigging it, what you been digging?
Nothing? Great? Great? IfI'm being completely honest. Yeah, I
this week, my brain has beenfucking mush. What little I have played.
I did play some more of thatCozy Grove game. I don't think
I actually like it, you know, I gave I've I've given it a
(21:04):
few in game days, and I'msure there's more that I need to unlock
and see. But I my initialproblems with it are the busy work is
not offset enough by the charm forme to want to do the busy work,
which is you know, I mean, look that's the animal crossing formula,
(21:25):
right. They give you busy work, but the reason you do it
is because you like the characters, you like the writing, you like building
your space, You're like doing allthat stuff you say, So that's that's
the that's the premise. We'll gowith it. As far as this goes,
I have not really latched onto anyof that stuff. I think the
art style is cute, if alittle distracting and sometimes hard to tell what
(21:45):
I'm supposed to be looking at andcollecting. And the characters are fine,
but the thing they're trying to dowhere like, you know you're helping these
spirits and you know you're you're talkingto them, interacting with them. It
does like it's not trying to bethis, but it is inevitably. The
thing I go to is spear Fairer, a game where the reason you want
(22:07):
to keep doing the busy work isbecause you like these fucking spirits, you
know, even the ones who areassholes, You are interested in their personalities,
who are interested in trying to dothings for them, right, And
I'm not getting any of that fromthis, Like I'm not having that that
feeling of I'm I want to keepengaging with these characters and yeah, Cozy
Grove. And you know the ultimatetest is I've put that game in front
(22:30):
of my girlfriend who fucking still playsAnimal Crossing every day, and she is
playing it. But there is thisconstant feeling of begrudging that seems to come
out every time I talk about She'slike, I don't like this. I'm
not into this, I don't digthis. So why are you still playing
it? I don't know. Andthat's the answer. So I don't know.
Like I'll give it a little moretime. But I kind of feel
like that one might be amiss forme. Okay, okay, you know,
(22:51):
And I'd say, and I've beenplaying something else, but I can't
talk about it yet because it'sm Bardountil next week. So I put the
kids, I downloaded the it takestwo uh, and put the kids in
front of that very teachable moment. There some some learning going on about learn
about well not that learning that itis okay to get divorced, and it
(23:15):
is okay for people who don't likeeach other. We have a lot of
friends who are divorced. It isokay for people who don't get along to
not feel guilty and to not stayin the house together and buy a magic
book. But uh, that stuffaside. I don't know how much of
the story they're absorbing. It isit is, it's probably for the best
(23:37):
that they don't. Yeah, I'veI've sat there and watched most of it,
and we pause it and we talkand we go through it and like,
you know, I'm surprised you're doingthat. Okay, Yeah, which
part just playing it? Oh?Pause? Yeah with them, I think,
yeah, yeah, but I guesslike it is. It is a
perfectly enjoyable co op. Yeah,if you just pretend none of the characters
ever talk. It's it's a completelywell designed game. Challenging, but it's
(24:03):
it's fun. You get through thelevels and then you're like, okay,
ear muffs and blinders, no,no, kind of like there's some salty
language in there, and that's like, okay, but they're But the big
takeaway is they're pretty good at it. Like they're getting older, they're getting
games. They're like and they fairwith the with the nail gun and I
did so I did. I didsome of that with my son and it
(24:26):
was fine. Yeah. My daughtergave me the controller, was like can
you do this? And I waslike okay, but she's six. He's
nine, so he was able to. He I did this shooting the nails.
He did the jumping. But theythey did like the timing on the
button presses thing they did they've donemost of the game themselves, some of
(24:47):
the boss fights. I take thecontroller. My my daughter gets frustrated,
she gives me the controller. ButI love that. I love and like
it's like you do this. Yeah. I want to say, like seven
at a rate was probably around thetime I started feeling okay playing harders,
Like, you know, I thinkat that point, I like, it's
six. I was probably if Iwas playing any video games, I was
(25:11):
probably playing them at a friend's house, and it was usually like, what
are the easy games, Let's let'sjust play duck Hunt. I don't know,
but you know, like at acertain I think that was around the
age when I started being able tounderstand like, oh, I know how
to do these button prompts. Iknow how to deal with you know,
challenging design like bullet hell games, what have you. You know, things
like this is the nys Era.So it was a different thing, But
(25:33):
nonetheless I feel like that's where Ikind of start figuring it out. Yeah,
I mean, my son, they'reway better than us. He's ye,
that's two fucking buttons, man, come on, he's good. My
daughter's also very My daughter and someof the platforming staff I'm like, kiddo,
like you you're getting there, younailed it, which she does.
She does that like smile and likeno, like yeah, yeah, I'm
(25:56):
pretty good. Yeah I fucking ruleye dude, good, I'm good.
I mean I kind of need toalmost like figure out how to wind back
some of the cockiness going on inthat family room these days. It's like,
oh, I guess you figured outhow to use left and right sticks
at the same time and understand firstperson stuff. That's right. You know,
(26:19):
there's like a Roadblocks game where there'slike nerf guns and shit, and
he's just like moving. I'm justlike, oh fuck, he's gone playing
a half Life two before you knowwhat. Fuck you're six, all right,
Yeah, he's like he's like it'slike that. It's like that oh
pro I was like, okay, you have to fight you now? Is
(26:41):
that? Like? So the onlything we have now really is like is
this is this? Is this akind of uh there's three tiers of game,
kids game, big kid game, grown up game? Uh? So
hey dad, is this a whatis this is a forgot porno game?
But yeah, and then that goesunder that big kid game. You listen,
you're old enough, you got it, you can go and play.
(27:03):
Wow. I don't know if you'reold enough to get those ads in your
browser, if you're old enough toplay them, I'm ejecting from this conversation.
Anyway, there's you can So i'dsay big kid games are like it's
hard, but maybe like content wise, it is like fun kind of okay,
like my kids can watch a bigkid's game. That's fine, right,
Like, hey, this is abig kid's game. I mean an
(27:26):
example, what are we talking about? Okay, So like Dishonored, right,
so that seems like an adult game. So Dishonored, if I'm stealthing
my way through, like you're,there's limb dismemberment and all that stuff.
It's that's borderline. Like yeah,we're getting, we're getting. Why is
that borderline? Because I think it'sit's it's cartoony, it's blood and gore,
(27:48):
cartoony. The thematically though, probablypushes it into adult game. I'm
just like, yeah, like hey, this you're paying attention to that story.
Yeah, but it's not necessarily game. I'm about you're you're not you
could be you play it. It'snot a call of duty where you're just
like your goal is to go andjust mow down everybody, right, Like
you can get through that game andput him to sleep. And like when
(28:10):
I when my son came down, was like what are you playing on?
It's can I watch? And Iwas like, okay, like you what
are you doing here? Like I'mtrying to put everybody asleep. I'm trying
not to be a murderer. Youknow, I'm trying to you don't do
that, And like, okay, put everybody to sleep except for this guy.
What are you trying to do?This guy? Oh, I'm gonna
brand his forehead so he's kicked outof his his religious cult and then can
(28:33):
never can never serve again and he'sostracide. Do you understand? Do you
know what ostracized means? You knowwhat it means? Anyway, moving on,
Yeah, so these guys know, these guys are gonna get their tongues
ripped out and they're gonna go workin a mine. But you didn't didn't
learn about that eventually anyway, that'sthe tearing system in that game. Like
(28:56):
I'm trying to think of other examples, Pack ME ninety nine Adult game just
clearly thematically, that clearly dangerous thoseghosts died. Man, that's dark.
Who were they? Who are they? Who were they? They're all the
people I killed and dishonored. It'sit's tough, you know, because now
the kids. I have worked outa situation where I tried to squeeze in
(29:19):
some of my work game playing andmy my funzies game playing during while they're
in school, because they're a littlemore autonomous than that thing. But they
have breaks like every forty five minutesor something. So they're running downstairs.
What's this one? Who's Why doesthat guy have an onion for a head?
That's Abe? He's right around tryingto free everybody. What do you
(29:40):
do? What is he? Whathappens? Why did you blow that guy
up? You know? I mean, I'll just pause it. You want
some cream cheese? Yeah? Youwant to eat cream cheese out of the
head? You want to just it'scoming. Do you want cake right now?
Let's just go have that and don'ttell your mom about this. So
anyway, back like what you've beenup to games wise, I'll be just
(30:03):
as honest as I can be.I've been playing a whole bunch of nothing.
I did go back to that retroArcade I spoke about last week because
you're Yeah, we went again becauseI was supposed to have a birthday party
for my son outdoors on Sunday. It rained all day, so we went
back to the arc very rainy. When I went back to the arcade,
and you know, he has todo the Ninja turtles and all that,
(30:26):
but I didn't realize there was afinal fight cabinet there, and uh,
final fight has awoken a new thingin that little kids game. Yeah,
that's probably a big kid game.Yeah, I mean also I think a
little kid could play that game.Oh totally. There's nothing bad aside from
like there's a lot of like unnecessarycleavage I feel like in that just like
(30:52):
you know, a lot of likeweird boobed stuff. But I think some
of the representation that game is youknow listen, I mean it's not like
to a little kid, it justlooks like a fucking sarcus. It's just
like this, what is all that? Then you have to be like punch
it everything. Kick Why is thatguy got a cape with a biohazard logo
(31:15):
on it? I don't know, but beat him up, beat him up,
kill him. Does your child needto be before you teach them about
Biohazard, the hardcore band. Thehardcore was never too young to learn?
Isn't that like? Isn't it likeJerry Seinfeld's cousin. There is a guy
named Evan Seinfeld. I don't knowif they are related or not. I'm
(31:37):
I'm nine sure they are like distantcousins. Okay, I'm sure that could
absolutely be true. I have noidea. All I know is Biohazard was
a fairly sccessful hardcore band, andthe Grand Scheme of things and also Onyx
you know Iconic Pair? Did you? Did you? I thought you're gonna
ask. At what age do youtell your child that, no, there's
not a fully cooked ham in thatbarrel on the street. You don't think
(32:02):
any that's one of the first thingsyou should teach a child. It's just
like, you don't know. He'she's kind of bossy, like he's playing
the Ninja Turles game or even likethe X Men, but you only played
for the first time last week andhis friend came along as his birthday and
he's like, it's like, no, no, no, Wolfine. His
(32:23):
superpower doesn't kill everybody, only onlynightcrawlers, does Wait that's true. I
actually don't know. I'm I havea bone to pick with that with him
on that one, because I feellike, yeah, it's like Giles Sonic
Boom everywhere. Yeah, Nightcrawler coversthe He might have a point. He
might have a point. He mighthave a point. When I put together
(32:45):
mine doesn't want to kill everybody. It was so funny. Dude, He's
like, who's that mouse? Like, that's Nightcrawler, Dude. That motherfucker
is a demon and it's not amouse. Okay, just because he's got
white gloves on doesn't mean he's afucking mouse. Okay, No, but
(33:05):
that it's just so fucking great,And like they really got into this Star
Wars vector game that you sat in. It was like a next It was
like a typewriter something, but itwas like the real old school controller.
Yeah. I didn't play that.I just I only try and play pinball
that I have not played before. And now like I've kind of done everything
(33:29):
that I need to play in thatplace now, which is which is great.
Have you not played the Star WarsArcade game original? I mean,
I'm sure I got around to it. I've seen it actually played. I'm
sure I touched. It really chooselike the death Star, you choose the
difficulty and it's a death Star run. I mean, you're you're at a
level of specificity that I feel likeit's not gonna be reciprocated here. Did
(33:52):
you? Did you at least showhim that, teach him that Mike Hagar
is a proper mayor getting out thereand he's maybe the only good politician in
America. He's the mayor and hejust wears like a single strap fucking wrestling
get up. He presaged the Jessethe Body Ventura political run is what I'm
saying. You know, it's thatwhole thing is just like a weird fucking
(34:13):
snake eating its own tail. Bitthere of like life imitates art, art
imitates life. Circle of is thisis this Mike Hager kind of based off
of Jesse the Body of Ventura, but like a mayor And that was Jesse
the Buddy Ventura based off of MikeHagar, the fictional character and is now
a mayor. I'm do I thinkMike Hagar would have a podcast about conspiracy
theories? Absolutely? Yeah, ohyeah that actually tracks that. Yeah,
(34:37):
you know, but you know, like we're gonna dig we're gonna dig deep
into the secret origins today. TheBad Gear Gang. Do you know the
CIA in nineteen eighty eight, theythey brought to the streets of Metro City.
They brought the duty. Yeah, they're putting trash cans. They're just
they're out there putting hams. Anddo you think there are real at least
(35:00):
seventeen different indoors think that that's anatural thing. The CIA in the cointelprol
they brought the indoors to the streets. Oh shit. And sitting on that
for a little bit, you knowwhat, It's something I've been working on
because that's actually the first time Ifelt like I ever done a successful jesse.
I'm very happy, perfect opportunity.Well done, Bravo. Uh So
(35:23):
you had a good time at theart Dag Jeff Backlar. You don't think
God they got a fix it Felixcabinet from Rick it Ralph imitating art And
it's like it's it's a game youcan play, and I assume it.
I mean, it's it's fine,it's like functional. I just didn't I
(35:44):
guess I like, you know, you like walk in. It's like right
there on the display and you're likeI said to my wife, I'm like,
wait a minute, they made thatup for the movie, right,
And she's like, what are youfucking happen to me for? I don't
know, And I'm like I thinkthey did. But then you look at
the screen. The screen is likean ELC D and it's like in this
restro cab and you're like, okay, you know, I'm sniffing something weird
(36:05):
here, but yeah, it's it'sit was pretty like Ralph is in there.
Yeah, I mean like that mightas well just play the movie in
it. You know, he's reallyalive in there. He's in there.
They never explain what happens if youhave two of the same arcade games next
to each other, do they?Dude, I'm sure all that narrative was
left on the cutting room floor. You don't want to unpack there. You
(36:27):
don't want to pick those scabs,my friend. You know what's really cool,
it's like a lot of the uh, you know, renovational sort of
stuff they do in these restro arcades. You know, they like put in
new buttons, they put in youknow, everything is clean and nice.
Some of the some of the dotMatrix displays, like like specifically on pinball.
They use these things called color dmdsI think they're called. And they're
(36:50):
basically like a colorized version of theyou know, orange dots. You know
the orange dots on old pinball games, Like that's the display and they use
it to make graphics and the scoreand all that. They they upgrade that
unit with this colorized thing, andit somehow like takes the commands for all
the dots and makes them colored. How do they know, I don't,
(37:15):
you know, I don't know.I don't know if there's there might be
another chip that has to you know, sit in line to finish the process.
I'm sure I'll get corrected on theon that and how that works.
But that's a super neat. Ilove that. I think that's super that's
super cool. You know what I'msaying. No, it's not a ruining.
It's like an up it's an update. It's a it's a it's a
beautiful update. It's a beautiful thingwhen you see if you ever see one
(37:37):
in person, it's it's kind ofstriking. Yeah, no, shit all
over it. I appreciate shit onit. That an upgrade. Two,
Hey, any shit on this. It's a look at that. That's pretty
good. Do we here take ashot on this? Here? Wow,
make a booty now? But uh, so I did. I did a
(37:58):
keyboard stream with through without you?Oh the you two. Uh it's keyboard
the you two keyboard with or withoutyou? Dude, come on, you
know what. I'm I'm happy thatwent over my head. Okay, okay,
I'll come on. That's a goodat you two. So it is,
it's one of them. Uh whendid you? When did you do
(38:20):
it? What day did? It'sSaturday night? And that's Sunday, not
Sunday, bloody Sunday. No,I uh, this is not a rebel
song. Yes, go ahead,So I guess I I carved out a
bit of time for how long Ithought it was gonna take? And I
went over it? Oh, Ijust want to ask you how long you
think it took me to what's full? What are we talking? Full?
(38:45):
Full? Uh? Half stack fullstack quarter cookie cookies? And it's so
and it's downstairs still. It's it'sbased off that Apple, an old Apple
keyboard that had like two little sections. I guess all in all it was
maybe like eighty six keys solder threethree pins two two pins each key and
(39:09):
like a lot of me also havingalmost next to no idea of how to
build it because I'd never opened thisup before. It had a daughter board
in it, which is like youknow what that is? Yeah, it's
getting more complicated here, yet it'slike a little daughter board. Actually,
who did have a ribbon cable tothe daughter Yeah? Well obviously if the
(39:30):
doorward has to talk to the regularPCB, well it could have been.
It could have been in a sloton it, but it was just a
ribbon cable next to it. No, I know you're smart, and you're
smart. No thanks, I wouldn'tneed to prove to the audience once in
a while making me look So it'sa it's don't worry. This is for
me. If you want to knowwhat it looks like, it's called a
Molly board by the key Dot company. If you want to just look for
(39:51):
yourself. There the heaviest keyboard I'veever like eleven pounds aluminum aluminum, a
new born aluminum in a way thatI cannot just like heavy duty this thing?
Wait say that again? Heavy duty? He heavy duty? Like whoa
(40:13):
is? Like? I let Stacylike grab it for a second, and
she almost like dry. It was. It is insanely heavy. People love
that, people love that and thatin the keyboard scene. But uh yeah,
so so how long? So here'swhat to do. Here's what to
do. Okay, unbox the keyboard, Okay, figure it all out.
(40:34):
Pretend I know what I'm doing.This is all I pretend I'm a streamer
guy, where I'm like looking atthe chat and doing the thing all right,
almost nothing, almost no delay.Way better than this garbage five hours
almost to the dot. Yeah, okay, damn, So there's there goes
that game. Thanks for thanks forletting the air out of that five hours
(40:58):
un till you plug it in andtype on it. Yeah, so until
it's fully complete. So caps areon whole Yeah exactly, So unpacked it
the you know, really inspecting thewhole thing, understanding where the daughter board
goes, the screws for that, then unpacking the plate because the plate came
attached. Uh. I didn't loveany of the switches, but I did
(41:22):
love the stabilizers, which is likethe big thing you want to do to
get your board sounding good. Spacebar a left shift backspace enter, and
then on the numb pad side,I think I just had the enter be
a double take. No tap keyis only one and a half units.
(41:42):
Yeah, okay, so anything Ithink it's what is it? It's probably
I'm just looking at my keyboard now, it's probably anything two units or larger.
Get a stabilizer. So uh so, yeah it was. It was
fun and like you know, Ihad a really good vibe. It was
a really chill kind of stream.I had a lot of fun. But
(42:05):
it took a long time. Andand and these keyboard streamers like that's how
long they do it, Like Itook longer than the average one. I
feel like a very experienced person cando it in two to three hours.
But I mean it was great, had a great time, drank some good
beers. It was a fun.It was a fun couple of hours to
really just kick it. And Idid archive it. I know people were
(42:30):
asking to see it after the facts, so I'll put it up in some
capacity somewhere. It's not it is, but that gets deleted after like two
weeks. Oh okay, yeah, get in there. So but I have
the file, so we're all good. And uh yeah, it was awesome.
So thanks to everyone who came inand hung out. That was great.
Yeah, thanks you Vinnie for doingthe thing you said you would think
(42:52):
about doing but didn't commit fully appreciateit. I was that five hours that
I was just kind of doing nothingon Saturday. I probably should have just
given to you. It was late, started at like almost nine o'clock starting
on Yeah, I started at eightthirty and I was done by So just
to be clear, no, Iam not looking. If I was beholden
(43:13):
to no one and no no rules, I could do whatever I want.
I would never be awake during theday. If I'm completely honest, I
would be up all God damn it. Oh my gosh. I look forward
to sometimes going to the bed earlier, going to bed early on a weekend,
being like, oh my gosh,I don't have any work to do
tonight, I'm gonna go to bedat nine. Uh, because I can
you think you think I got thisgentle power, this beautiful, glowing,
(43:37):
fucking skin tone by going outside duringthe day. No, that's that's all
moon shine, you know, moonmoon glow. But so I put the
thing together, and uh, itdoesn't more, it's for real. Like
I put it together. I hookedin the USB and I used this program
called VA which everyone uses to youknow, test all the keys. I'm
(43:59):
typing away on the fucking thing, the USB, Windows notices the device.
I start typing, it's not working. It didn't work. So then proceeded
like a forty five minute process oflike loading drivers with the help of chat
and it was great. We figuredit out. Oh what was it?
So and this is still the thing. As long as I've been involved in
(44:19):
this hobby, I still need Istill don't have my head fully wrapped around
all this. But you know, there are these processors on board that control
you know, that basically is likethe brain of the board, and you
need to sometimes flash that sure, depending on the type. So there's like
at Mega, there's there's at MEL. There's like all these different sort of
(44:43):
processors that need instructions, and ifthey're not SYNCD up, sometimes Windows will
just be like them. Yeah, you normally have to flash a keyboard in
my experience, all the ones Ibuild. Yeah, you normally don't have
to flash a keyboard in your world. Yes, my world is commonplace when
you Alex and I mostly plug thekeyboard in and start typing and that's it,
(45:10):
right, you get your driver.Yeah, maybe if you're unlucky like
don't you realize I created this fornothing? Okay from you didn't mold the
plastic yourself, dude, Yeah,Alex, he gave birth to this keyboard.
He was. It's a tame keylist. Oh my gosh, I
(45:31):
love you. It is as bespokeas I am technically capable of bespoking.
And yeah, so like you dohave to do a little bit of like
scrambling its brains a little bit beforeit's gonna work. And yeah, so
so that was a good time. That was a lot of fun. And
we gotta go and we gotta workin I'm using it downstairs. It's a
(45:53):
beaute. It is five hundred andfifty dollars a second without and that's without
the keys, the caps. Wait, you're saying you're paying for a keyboard
with no keys. Yeah. Yeah, it's buying a car with no engine,
(46:14):
no tires. I guess you'd buya chassis and you're like, this
is a really good chassis. Well, you gotta start somewhere you can't,
Okay, Yeah, this is thatcommunity. This is on the higher end.
Let me be fair. This ison the higher end, the one
the one that I was gonna buildreally expensive stuff that is dumb. Okay,
dollars worth of the transformers behind him. I can't relate to this.
(46:37):
I can't relate to this the thingyou use every day and type on every
single day and use it a lot. Yeah, I couldn't type on anything
else. You're right, that goodpoint. It's not my point. Keep
building these things. You keep makingmore of them. How the keyboards you
need eleven, You're gonna have onefor each letter. At some point it
just be like, this is myqueboard, my w board, my e
(47:00):
board, hard board. I'm givingthem to people. Okay, I'm I've
I've sold a couple that I've mademyself, So yes, it is I
see it's your art. Now,this is your art. It is dangerous.
What did I get in shy ye? Are you like you gotta go
(47:21):
to those specialty insurance places and belike, what kind of collection do you
have? Keyboards? We're exploring,We're exploring. That's right, you got
keyboards, are real nice keyboards. So yeah, I mean this is a
very very it's a very very expensivepiece of machinery, but it is beautiful
and I don't have to explain howto you. You. No, No,
(47:42):
definitely not to me as a glanceover him and be like, no,
you don't. I've been in yourfucking basement. Yeah, it's hard
to get back out. It's gotsecrets. Oh yeah, the secrets sometimes
bubble up. Secrets, They bubbleup out of a pipe and then spill
a little over the floor. Sothe duty, the duty, the the
thing that is wild to me isafter you build it, do you like
(48:05):
it's so expensive you use it?Or do you Yeah, you use it?
I mean, so should it beperfectly clear you guys? And I
was clear on the on the stream, uh the ie you know, the
this was given to me. Ididn't buy this myself too. I'm just
saying like, I just want youto be it's probably worse. Yeah,
but you know, like for mepersonally, I think if I was looking
(48:30):
for a very permanent solution, Iwould consider spending that kind of money on
a keyboard. Uh what happens ifthe alphabet changes? That's a very good
joke. Yeah, we're gonna moveover to the metric alphabet. Uh so
you know that's like that's like alittle partnership put together with them. But
(48:53):
yeah, like I get it.It is a lot of money and explaining
it to somebody like that is ahard sell. I think a lot of
people start to realize once they beginto use one, just how how how
much you use it, and yourealize how much you use it, it
becomes kind of a game changer fora lot of people. That's what I've
(49:14):
done during my time in the pandemicis I've convinced people that I've shown people
that you can get a brand newkeyboard and change your your whole work from
home life in a very positive way. So I don't know if that's better
than spending your pandemic finally putting togethera working Jesse the body venture impression.
But we're coming out of this withtwo very valuable things. That's right,
(49:39):
and Alex, I want to buildyou a keyboard, buddy, Oh okay,
will you take it? Will youhave one? Will you? I
wouldn't say no, I have this, like I have a totally decent hyper
X keyboard, but like if youmade something for me, I have no
attachment to this thing. Very good. We will talk, all right,
and I'd have to see you inperson to receive it. It's not the
(50:00):
mill works, but I just realizedtoday I'm fully juiced. Good for you,
congratulat weeks since shot. I'm allgood now, well, I mean
as good as all candy, Iguess. Yeah, I get my second,
I get my second stabby tomorrow.Nice. And then you got two
three weeks after that too. It'stwo weeks after two, okay, and
(50:22):
uh the fires fire CEO today said, uh, expect in twelve months,
you're probably gonna need a boost there. Yeah, yeah, I mean twelve
months. Sure, yeah, justlike I get a fucking flu shot every
year. That's fine too. Imean, we like, talk to me
in twelve talk to me in amonth. I'll check, we'll check in
and see if it's even worth goingoutside again. All right, yeah,
(50:43):
yeah, twelve months? Who's thisguy? So? What are you so
optimistic? Ab I guess being abillionaire makes you a little live for h
Fights are ceo? Al right?Fights, you're CEO? Just a talking
pill? What is the fser ceo? Is it just like a gel cap
(51:04):
with it's a prescription bottle? Yeah, let me tell you about Sorry else
has gone to jail. It's justbe happy. It's just the viagra pill
with legs walking around getting excited. All right, let's take a break here.
I'm here to tell you about goinginto medical debt. Let's let's get
(51:27):
ready to take a break. Here, got the music, Hey, folks,
stick around, we'll be right backa little bit. Make sure you
can hear this. Yes, Ithink so. Here we go. Oh
no, that's too low. Ilowered it down when we did your bit.
Hold on, louder louder. Herewe go. Oh yeah, oh
(51:53):
yeah, oh yeah, no,oh yeah, oh yeah. You're back,
and you're listening to the Beast Cast. In case you were wondering,
in case you just kind of cruisedin here case someone in your household with
blarness out there speakers got the radioon it. And what is what is
that you're saying to yourself and hand this voice on the radio on these
(52:15):
speakers says you're listening to the GiantBeast Cast. Oh, let me get
a seat. Let me go siton your bean bag chair in your dorm
room and listen. What we're hereto do. The new dude that I
don't know it's listen. It's likeseventeen years of doing this. You gotta
it's like, you know, wegotta spice it up once in a while.
(52:35):
We're a funny costume. Spice itup. Talk about beanbags. I
like a go bean bag. Thenews. The news is here and it
is ready to enter your ears.Alex Navarro, what's going on with the
news. Oh, I don't know. If there's some stuff we can talk
about it if you want. Yeah, I do hit me all right.
(52:58):
Uh, Indie games, you knowwhat I Uh, Nintendo also loves them.
They've been putting them on the Switch. They had an Indian Yeah,
the Nina. Well, I don'tthink I don't think they used that term
anymore. I think it was Nintendoin the world is what they call those
streams, at least for the best. But so they did another one of
those recently. Uh. They announcedthere were some new games announced, some
(53:19):
some things that were shown that werealready known. For instance, the teenage
Ninda Turtles new game Shredder's Revenge thatis coming to Switch. There was a
new trailer for that. Uh,there was the h and also there is
no game remember that game? YEAmentioned very good game. Yeah, it
is coming to Switch. Good buildon the shop right now. People should
play that. Do you know howmuch that is? I don't know how
(53:42):
much it is, but it isit is. It is available now,
so you can go look it up. Good. It's a great game.
Uh. And then a few newthings got in there, a couple of
new Annapurna games. Uh. Thereis a sequel to Ali Ali that is
coming out called Ali Ali World.Okay, okay, and it that it
has a whole new look to it. It is. It is very cartoonish.
(54:02):
They kind of got away from thepixel art stuff and there's like a
whole like world navigation. There arelike NPC's that you talked to in that
game. Now it's got a vibe. You got a cool vibe. You
like Ali Ali? Right? Ilike a first fun game. I don't.
I would love to see what thisthing does. It looks neat.
(54:23):
Yeah. I do think they aremaybe missing an opportunity here by not getting
Vernon Hertzog to maybe do some narrationfor that game. When are they not
skateboarding? But I would love tosee him talking about the you know,
the act of skateboarding bordering on thesacred, you know, you know,
it's like when he would do hisski jumps back home. Yeah, totally.
(54:45):
I saw the longing. Do youremember that game vague? Yeah?
Yeah, it was like right whenLockdown started, which is weird now thinking
back, because it's a game aboutwaiting like four hundred days to be able
to exit this y or whatever. So that was on PC for a while.
I do want to watch that. But new Ninja Turtles trailer. Yeah,
(55:08):
yeah, it's a good it's agood trail. It's good. Yeah.
That game. Yeah, Jan waskind of getting me back into Ninja
Turtles. He mentioned there's a yeah, yeah, he said, you mentioned
there's a comic that was it likea last run in style comic for the
Ninja Turtles where there's one surviving turtle. Uh and he sounded really interesting.
(55:29):
What the BVG is a big ourold studio manager. Yeah, big Ninja
Turtles guy, big turtle head, big turtle is that? What is that?
What they goll Is that what itis? Yeah? Little turtle head,
turtle head, Yeah, little turtlehead, real shell head. You'd
always peek out and be like, there's a got a little turtle head purchase.
God, I love being a turtleand he and he uh, he
(55:54):
turned me onto some like I feellike some ship where they got going out
with Batman or something. I readthat with the kids had a short series
of four Run where the Turtles andBatman get together. They were just like
yo, Batman, He's like,yeah, I believe you're real, and
they just get into Shenanigans. Itwas like a four epting run that I
(56:16):
U episode. I mean, yeah, I am jazz that Ninja. Turtles
pretty much didn't take a break atall in my lifetime. I mean maybe
like early two thousand, late nineties, maybe turtles you know, went into
hibernation for a little bit from TurtlesHybernate. No, I don't think they
(56:37):
do. But but yeah, real, real, real dope to see them
back and bigger than ever. Nonstop turtle action, NonStop turtle action.
Even Michael Bay couldn't couldn't destroy them. So it's pretty great. Turtles live
a long time. Uh turtle power. So the Nintendo Indies, Yeah,
(56:59):
there's a couple of other things, you know, like some other games are
coming soon. Fez is coming tothe Switch. It's out now, I
think, I guess. Yeah,Fees will eventually be playable on every single
platform possible. Art of Rally iscoming to Summer. I like that game
a lot last year on PC.There's a House of the Dead remake that
(57:20):
is coming to switch. Sure, fucking why not the tap shooting on that?
Or what am I? I don'tknow? And then the last thing
they announced kind at the end isa little teaser. Is there's a sequel
to Oxen Free. Do you rememberthat game? Yes? Oh? Yeah,
school how Okay, wait a second, now, wait a second,
that's wrong. Everybody sit down.Yeah, I'm getting get back on that
(57:45):
bean bag chair. You're telling me, Alex Navarro. Yes, there is
both in this one announcement you can'tdo it and a sequel to ox and
Free. Yes, Ali, Ali, Oxen Free was in the same stream.
Okay, are you happy? Areyou glad that you know this?
(58:06):
Now? I'm not a foking amusedby this debauchery, by this fuckery,
but have added Vinny go to townon it. But let's hear it,
let's hear it. Oh yeah, the answer to your question is yes,
that felt good stamping out that fire. Aztec Forgotten God was an outstanding this
(58:30):
thing. Thank you? Are you? Are you okay? Do you need
a minute? Are you all right? I mean like that's like the center
square on the Bengo card for you, big guy. Okay, I got
my Transformer Ecto one. We're gonnatalk about Transformers later, right, dude?
(58:50):
Did you just try and do likeI need to get out of this
bit? What do I do?Okay, guys, I'll be right up.
I gotta I gotta go in there. I'll be right up, guys.
I got no, no, I'llbe right up. Just podcasting.
I gotta go. I gotta go. Can you do the walking downstairs thing
on camera? Just so sorry?Yeah, guys, I gotta go see
(59:15):
you. I can't believe you triedthat. Yeah, that was good.
Look over here, look over here. So okay, yeah, all right,
Alex. Anything else going on?Oh yeah, there's some things.
They put out a trailer for theMass Effect remaster coming out, the collection
coming out, and they showed someside by side shots of you know,
(59:36):
the original game and the all thefuckery they have done to these games to
be better. Is I'm conflicted.I mean, you're the other Well,
so I'm conflicted for a couple ofreasons. One, I played it with
the super textures and all the mods, and we put on PC and we
(01:00:00):
made that game look pretty goddamn good, all three of them. I think
even even Mass Fact one I thoughtpretty good with all that shit turned on
and all the business. It wasthe first time I think I had heard
the DLS or whatever from Yeah,We're like, wow, yeah, they
did these movies upresed with special computerAI. Yeah. So I'm looking at
(01:00:21):
the side by side stuff in here, and I admittedly, you know,
yes, the textures, especially likethe skin stuff for for the different aliens
and whatnot, like in the outfits, there is noticeable improvement there, certainly.
The other side of that is thatsome of the scenes they chose to
show and some of the bits thatthey showed, the lighting is completely different
(01:00:43):
in a way that I don't thinkis just a matter of we are using
a different engine. We had tochange some things, Like there is some
intention I think that is maybe alittle bit lost there, Like there's a
couple of shots in there that lookkind of that are supposed to be kind
of foreboding, and look, I'mbe ascribing too much meaning to this.
It could have just literally be thattheir lighting engine was not that great back
(01:01:04):
then. But it's losing something forme, and I don't really know every
sane just like you're messing up sane. No, it's not that like there's
a shot where you're like it showedthe tank that may go like driving along
and it's like it's supposed to bekind of a you know, kind of
a darker scene, but then likethey just brightened it all the fuck up
and it just doesn't. I don'tknow, Like I've seen this a lot
(01:01:25):
with the stuff that in recent HDremakes, where there are scenes that,
again maybe they were this way becauseof limitations of the hardware and what could
be done back in the day,but to me at least feel like they
are losing some mood when they shiftthis stuff, even like the Judgment HD
update that is coming out for forPS five, like the shots they've shown
(01:01:45):
with that that's a game that cameout like two three years ago, and
some of the shots look like theyhave changed lighting in a way that totally
makes it look different, not ina better way. And I don't really
know what's going on there. Idon't know if it's just the tech they're
using, if it's like a mandateof this has to look X amount of
better for it to be justifiable.I don't know. Maybe maybe it's something
(01:02:07):
also that just to play a littlebit of fast and loose with the trailer
stuff can be tough, and whenyou're playing through it, it will make
more sense. And like you're inthe scene, you've seen the lighting change,
you've seen everything around it, andwhen they do those side by side
things, you're like, oh,that's drastically different. But when you're playing
the game makes more sense. ButI hear you if you're you feel like
(01:02:28):
they have changed some of the artisticintent maybe of the original one that was
like, for instance, they mademy wife's boot, they added some definition
to my wife's boobs that I didnot ask for, thank you very much.
They were just you know, forfixing the important stuff. Yeah,
yeahs you got to spend that timesomewhere. Uh, when when do we
have when we got the thing comingout? When we got the thing it's
(01:02:52):
made fourteenth right, Yeah, that'ssoon. I think that's soon. That
is I'm maybe not ready to startthose games over now. I do want
to see what it looks like.I just want to see in motion too
soon. Well, I want tosee what they did to mas effect one.
I want to see if, like, what what changes they actually made
to that thing, because you knowthey've they've talked some game about how they
tried to rework it. A littlebit to make it more in line with
(01:03:15):
the other two. And I'm curiouswhat that actually means. And it's Pinnacle
Station is still lost the time, right, that's the one thing they could
not bring back. Yes, that'swhat you that's what you have on them
now, Alex Oh, oh youguys, don't you guys never been to
Pinnacle Station. Huh that you playedMass Effect, You don't have real You'll
never know the real story. You'llnever know what happened there. It stays
(01:03:36):
on Pinnacle Station, happened on Pinniclestation. That's how it goes. What's
up next? Uh, let's see, there was a PS five update.
I downloaded that right before I didthe old quick look for Soul Storm and
want me to update my controller, which is still maybe a little weird,
but you know this, those thingshappen. Yeah, he controllers have feelings
too, yeah yeah. And PCBspossibly dark daughterboards yeah yeah yeah. So
(01:04:01):
the main the main thing for this, uh, this update is that you
can now store PS five games onexternal storage. You cannot play them off
of the external storage, but ifyou just want to shove one of those
games off, Let's say you downloadedCyberpunk just as an example. And let's
say that you booted it up acouple of times and we're like, maybe
(01:04:21):
I should wait before I try andplay this again. And it's been sitting
there on your hard drive like abig lump in your stomach that you just
can't seem to get rid of,you can't seem to quite shit out.
Yeah, so you just want toput it somewhere so you don't have to
download another one hundred and fifty fuckinggigs or whatever it is later on because
they're on limited internet. You mean, you just have to transfer it back.
(01:04:44):
Yeah, So what you can donow is you can shove that onto
a hard drive and then it willcome back to the SSD when you want
it, if you want it tocome back, And that's you know,
that's the thing you can do.But these games are optimized, remember they
are optimized for or the first story. Yeah, they have to be played
off. Yes, five games orit's all about the SSD, so you
(01:05:05):
play Wait, not the other youmean the PC the built in Yes?
Sorry, yes, that's right.Uh is this the Call of Duty Call
of Voodoo, the Call of DutyUpdate? Then this is the like,
hey, we know, but nownow you can free up your hard drive
(01:05:26):
space because we know you don't playCall of Duty but once a month anyway,
so put this off on your externaldrive. I don't think we can
call that the Call of Duty updatebecause PEP, we're still playing that.
Yeah, it's too I listen.I have it sitting on my hard drive
waiting for someone to invite me backLark to play with them. Uh,
and it takes up a lot ofroom there. I also just realized that
(01:05:46):
Cyberpunk example is a bad one becausethey actually still haven't put out the PS
five update. Right, good,Yeah, so it is never never mind
what I said. I'm trying tothink now that last time you invited me
to play call well that's never happened, so I wouldn't have a memory of
it. But I'm just trying tothink, like, yeah, most of
the games I have on my PSfive RPS four games, so you don't
(01:06:11):
have an external drive like that. The only two games I've downloaded for work,
actually, two of the three gamesI've downloaded for work this year have
both been PS four games that I'vebeen playing on my PS five. I
guess the only one for me ismaybe Miles Morales and uh, I mean,
I don't know if sack Boy islike the if there's a PS five
(01:06:31):
version of zach Boy, I gottalook. But either way the boy I
thought it was, it's definitely onboth. Okay, yeah, so no,
here's the thing though, right sothe the you know, what I
was thinking about right away was like, oh man, what is USB three
point oh transfer speed? I know, yes, right? And is that
(01:06:53):
it's pretty It's probably quicker than yourinternets downloading, yes, fast and nownloading,
But what is the real delta there? Like, what are you you
know, saving in terms of time? Well, if you do have that
gig a bit or if you do, you know, realize there's caps and
people. Yeah, but I don't. Yeah, I get I get the
finished gig. He knows it's amust pet. Yeah, that's that's anything
(01:07:16):
else on that update, that's thebig one. That was the big one.
I think there's another thing on here. Uh, let me just look
it up real quick because I it'sso cross generation share play. Yeah that
is if you I believe there wassome funkiness if you were trying to share
play a PS four game on PSfive with like someone else on a different
(01:07:40):
generation console. I just think allthose moving uh you know, the matrix
of like what the people could haveall talk to each other now, So
I don't think there's any like midair collisions with that stuff anymore. That's
good. Uh yeah, I don't. I got that thing. It doesn't
see anything in here about my PSfive just kind of not coming back from
(01:08:01):
sleep. Yeah, really just whenit's I gotta say, and then then
it doesn't go to sleep, itdoesn't. I am not playing that console
at all lately. Really, Yeah, it is just Series X. Nope.
Well I guess other things. Yeah, I mean mostly PC, but
kind of nothing. I mean there'sstuff I want to play. I want
(01:08:25):
to get into Disclazi, you know. Look, but uh no, I
want to five hours on a keyboard. Huh, you know priorities, right,
No, I want to Uh.I do want to do a disco
Elasi, but that will be aPC thing. Okay. I've been on
PS five quite a bit obviously latelywith the Soul Storm, but on that
(01:08:49):
Xbox Series X with that that Dishonored, and then on the PC with that
Desperadoes three. But I haven't hadmuch time to get back there, so
I've been I've been bouncing around.I got it. And then on this
sway with the Smash Brothers with thekids, you know, cool, everything
gets a little fun. Low love, low love love, low love.
Alex what else he got? Uh? This is not about video games,
(01:09:11):
but I'm just gonna I'm gonna putit out here anyway, because I mean,
we did watch seven of these moviesfor the site. Uh fast nine
new trailer. Did you all watchit? I did not know. I
like, I like to go intothat movie clean. I wanted here.
I would never watch it. No, I'm gonna watch it right. Here's
a live Vini reacts. Here wego, no no audio live. I
(01:09:32):
just want to hear what you haveto say about it. Okay, here
comes here comes a car. There'sthis is three minutes. They're barbecueing in
the backyard with dominic I'm gonna playby play the Dominican. Look who's in
there? Who? Who's at thatbarbecue? They went too fast? This
te Diggs, dude, the TokyoDrift people are at the barbecue. Oh
yeah, this guy was there. He just made a heart. Everybody's so
(01:09:54):
happy. And there's Universal Pictures logojust came up. Now they're going on
a big old plane for some reason, and John Vin Diesel's like, hey,
we're getting the family back together. And then he's like, oh my
gosh, I love money. Andthen they're racing in a car and he
jumps off a cliff. Is like, if it's final Fantasy time, why
did you say that? Because it'slike fast and furious and they're both f
(01:10:15):
oh. And they pointed a gunat him. There's John Cina with the
gun. It's like, I'm JohnWick. Motherfuck. John Cina is Vin
Diesel's younger brother exactly? Is Johnthe bad guy? Yes? Uh?
And then here we go and theneverybody's running around and there in the kill
zone suits and now he's in atank and now he's a riddick. Now
(01:10:36):
there's an alien scene where she's bangingon the wall. Now he felt in
the tank watching the trailer some ofthe sis. And then we just kicked
a crt oh and then the matrixout of the window kick. That was
very Trinity. And then getting apartwith the magnets. People, no magnets
yet we're in maybe so that's coming. Now we're sitting on Yes, this
(01:11:00):
is a new level of stupid whatI'm looking at. They're driving, they're
talking, there's a tree. It'sin the entire YouTube react genre is exactly
like this. This June it said, now there's a sword. Uh,
and there's a motorcycle. Oh,somebody's rann into a tree like a Jedi.
Now Giant Sena is on a ropeand just gotta pushed it in a
window. Now there's a very shortJohn Cena. Now what big diesel just
(01:11:24):
broke a brick wall with his head. He shifts out that before uh,
and now cop cars are crashing, and then he just went back in time.
The fux capacitors just kicked in.He's on a walkie talkie. He
just put in two nineteen eighty four. Oh that's the magnet. Okay,
push the cars away, so theokay, this is supremely dumb. Okay,
now this is uh the cars orall. They're doing a lot with
(01:11:45):
the magnets. Why I even seethe movie here is that's what that's the
bit. Did every year every moviehave like a bit like this. Well,
I mean there's definitely like a newbig dumb car stunt that gets in
there or two or three. Nowthere is happening in space. Wait,
you must be ahead of me.This is the big truck is flipping over,
like if Vinny and Alex were playingeuro Truck. The big truck is
flipping over in a funnel truck overmy euro truck is flipping over this ship
(01:12:11):
like if you this Just when didthis turn into Saints Row like that around
the fifth movie? I think itis really went in that direction. I'm
just happy. Maybe that's an accurateuh it is. I think it's more
that Saints Row took their cue fromthose movies and realized that what if we
just made these characters likable chuckle headsin the dumbest possible environment. I mean,
(01:12:34):
in F ten, a motherfucking dinosauris going to show up. So
yeah, I'm not, Yeah,I'm not, you know, I'm I'm
It's fine. They're in space now, yeah, yeah, what can they
call off? F Then the firstscene is like a race on the I
SS he's just like he're the twokey takeaways here one Justin Lynn is back.
(01:12:57):
Justin Lynn is directing this one,and I think next two, and
I think that's kind of as farahead of they as they have played with
these movies. So we'll see wherethey go after that. It's fine,
I you know, forgive me.Yeah, this trailer, if nothing else,
was very illustrative to me that itis a fucking crime that they have
not figured out a way to translateany of this stuff into a good video
(01:13:20):
game. I know it is avideo game. How how have they still
not? I mean it's because noone will assign an actual budget for the
for those games to be good. But it's just like, it's fucking criminal,
it's stupid. They there's this isthe most video game ass movie franchise
currently in operation. But somehow they'dget it wrong, somehow it would be
bad. Yeah, they'd be like, we got finally got into a video
(01:13:43):
game, would you make it's ahex based turn based stealth game. Wait
what Yeah, you play as thecar and you guys sneak up on people
and hunk the horn. It's reallyfunny FX y f X right, that's
some furious ten ten that will beten Yeah, stunt stunt race FX,
(01:14:03):
stunt race FX. They have theyhave a year to figure it out.
They can get a F nine.Is there any fun play on words there?
Oh? That's bad, that's bad. Excited? Yeah, I am,
Look, I'm ready I'm not readyto go into a movie theater yet,
but I would go to a drivein movie theater and watch that in
(01:14:24):
your in your holler from my car. You, uh, what are you
looking forward to more? This orthe Mortal Kombat? This Mortal Kombats like
tomorrow, isn't it something like that? It's next week? Okay. I've
heard some light not good things aboutthat movie. You know what I've heard
about, like good things the oldyou know who? The two the Godzilla
(01:14:49):
and King Kong. Oh, yeah, I've heard good things. I hear
they fight, which is what youwant. It's funny because yeah, who
does win is the question. Ican't show. I can't show that to
my kid, right, even thoughas much as as bad as he wants
to watch that, he is jazzedevery time we fire up HBO Max and
(01:15:13):
they show that like split screen withthe god with the Godzilla I and the
King Kong I, he is like, let's watch that trailer again because being
mad at each other. No.I think I think there's just like massive
amounts of like simple of like verynonchalant death in that movie. Which will
I don't know. I don't knowhow I feels may you start with like
(01:15:36):
early Godzilla, like some rubber suitGodzilla, and see where he goes from
there, showing rubber suit Godzilla likethat. I don't know a six year
old that doesn't pass the sniff testwith with a with a six year old
that was probably at the age Iwas when I first saw Godzilla. Yeah,
but that's clearly a man in asuit. But I am entertained.
(01:15:57):
No, I know, but Ijust think I don't know if if I'm
gonna get to where he needs tobe. That's like goofy and fun right,
or I can't remember this some shit? Alright, alright, some you
think it's cool, like the littlegirl like is like King Kong's buddy,
you know, and they like theydo like a little boop on the finger
(01:16:18):
together. Did you see that? And then he accidentally steps on her and
that's when when when just straight fuckingKing Kong just like sucker punches Godzilla in
the in that trailer and it looksso like a SlowMo boxing that he loses
his mind seeing that. He's like, that is amazing, trade deal funny.
(01:16:43):
We will not it is so funny. I was looking forward to that
movie and I will still watch itat some point. But at some point
someone told me that like Hollow Earththeory heavily plays into the film's plot,
and I'm just like, you know, fuck it. I just threw my
hands up. I was like, okay, get around to it. Okay,
you know, okay. I don'tknow much about it, but I
can't wait for the setup the premisefor like, yeah, hey, this
(01:17:05):
is our boy, King Kong isour boy Godzilla. Well, it seems
like from the trailer it seems likeKing Kong is like a soldier. He's
almost like an American treasure. Yeah, he's just like, bring me Kng's
that could take care of this.I like cong Skull Island a lot,
(01:17:28):
mostly for John c Riley and thecong bits everything else around the edge.
And actually Samuel Jackson is also verygood in that movie. I did not
like the last couple of Godzilla movies, so I like, I'm there to
watch him fight. That'll be fun. But I have never liked what Western
movie studios have done with Godzilla,so I'm not I'm not holding out a
(01:17:50):
lot of hope for thinking this isan actually good movie. Alright, alright,
one listen, Godzilla can breathe liketea and fire. I don't know
how King Kong stands out watch shinGodzilla that that would be kicks fucking ass.
He Godzia can also swim. Godzillais basically is a fish. He's
(01:18:11):
like a fish, yeah, Ithink, but it can like breathe under.
Like I don't know how King Kongwins this fight. But listen,
I think so many questions about likethey're like they're like their backstories, like
I just it's just it's so funny. Are you going? How did you
get here? Yeah? Like whatlike are you are you? Like?
Are you the last one? Areyou an endangered species? Did you mate?
(01:18:33):
Like? How did you get athing in there in this movie about
like how there can only be onegreat Titan of the Earth, Like there's
some sort of weird, dumb mythologyin there about that, and how when
there's two Titans, it's bad. There's just green Ape sitting there being like
yeah green baby. Uh he's abig great baby. Is I remember grat
(01:18:54):
baby? Thank you good? Sorry? Yeah, no, I remember Hannah
Barbara? I know, well, yes I do have like suspenders and ship
yeah yeah, kind of like it'skind of like a giant Diddy Kong maybe,
but like, I think I onlyknow that from Harvey bird Man.
But yeah, that's the thing.I've seen that episode of Harty for a
Man more times than I've seen actualGrape ape cart So Harvey bird Man rules.
(01:19:15):
Yeah. Uh, what we're talkingabout, Oh news? Is that
the end of it? Well?No, because there's I think there's a
burning question. Everyone on the GiantBomb extended universe has been dying to know,
Vinny, And I'm gonna put thisto you right now. Yeah,
there is a seven hundred dollars selftransforming self walking. It's almost keeps cry
(01:19:36):
that is coming out. Yes,will Vinny Caravella take the plunge? Fuck
that. I'm not answering this questiontill somebody sends me a seven hundred dollars
transformer and then I put my Instagramtake up and I'm like, let me
look at this. You guys seethis transformer yet no comment? Well,
then that's the answer is No,you're gonna wait for someone to send it
to you. You're not gonna buyit. I don't mean I don't mean
(01:19:57):
somebody. I mean has bro Okay, you are the transformer and influence out
there did in these videos and they'relike, oh, man, Hasbro sending
all these people this fucking Optimist Primethat transforms. I'm sitting here like a
like a dumb ass with my transformerson a shelf that I got to use
a fucking spudgeer to pop a panelout and it takes one hundred and fifty
(01:20:20):
hours to transform it. These jackassesare sitting there don't know a thing about
transformers, yelling transform Optimist Prime thatdoes it on their shelf. I ain't
a idiot. Oh my god,if someone just clipped all that fucking babble
babble bullshit that came out of yourmouth just now, that would be amazing.
Number two to put that in thetrailer for Like, all I heard
(01:20:42):
for eleven seconds was like, no, would even Mabel spikes You just said,
I don't know what you said.It like some sort of like like
ridiculous auctioneer or something like that. That's what's your point? So so we,
uh, this kind company seen itthat I used to work for put
up a video where I saw thatI watched a bridget. Yeah would you
(01:21:05):
think I think we did a greatjob? Yeah, yes, it looks
like she I remember back when Iused to work there. She was saying
it was like the best toy inthe history of toys. She was like,
this is a She's like, thisis an achievement, this is okay,
this has been around for a littlebit. I've seen this video,
(01:21:27):
so just you could should tell him, you tell me she's a liar,
Bridget No, I mean she mightbe right. I mean that's okay.
So first of all, that's anopinion, right, So her I'm saying
her opinions wrong. But I'm hearingwhat I want to hear. I'm saying
I've seen this in prototype stuff fora while. It's on Hasbro Pulse.
It's like they're basically their version ofKickstarter. They've had a lot of big
old Unicron on there. That's whereI got my Hero Quest reboot that i'll
(01:21:53):
hopefully it's get some day. Uh. Do I think this thing is cool?
Yes? What I buy? Ibuy it? I would not Okay,
it's too much money for me,hint. Received seven hundred dollars is
a lot of fucking money for It'sa lot of money. I could almost
buy two keyboards. You know. It's uh, it's it's could you get
(01:22:14):
in and out of the keyboard forunder seven hundred with the caps and everything
and the keys. Yeah, yeah, close though, right, it's real
close. Anyway, I think thekeyboard would be a little more useful than
this to tell you the truth. All right, as long as we can
admit that, as long as youcan you're willing to admit that watching I
like, I think I get outof it watching the videos. What I
need to get out of it.That's not to say, Hasbro. Maybe
(01:22:39):
there's something having it Hasbro. MaybeI would say something like, you know,
having it on hand really changes this. It's a beautiful thing to touch
and have on Well, we won'tknow until we get your video. Yeah,
we will know until so you're notsubscribe to my Instagram on Twitter and
then Hasbro, you need to hookme up. Give Kevin Smith this Transformer
and not give it to me.What are we doing here? What we're
(01:23:00):
doing here? Hands Bron. I'mgonna be honest, I was barely listening
through all this. I've been tryingto find a way to turn this into
a snows Informer musical parody as we'vebeen talking about it, and oh,
from the whole blabbering auction, Igot to transformers on your shelf. Seven
hundred dollars. Now that's all Igot, Jabe, I can't do that.
(01:23:20):
Also makes it makes the transforming soundlike multiple times while it's transforming,
and I think that's a little namebecause it Yeah, I should only do
it once. I gotta I alsogotta think too, like I would imagine
these things, like we're making awhole bunch of like noise while I'm doing
this thing, and it's just like, oh, Optimist Prime, are you
okay? Were like osteoporosis Prime. Also, it's not how he transforms,
(01:23:42):
so hey, I know, listen, it's hard, right, Look,
you do what you can make themechanisms do, all right, I get
it. I get I'm not sayingI think the cartoon maybe took some liberties
with physics. Do you know howmuch the transforming masterpiece Optimist Prime was like
five hundred bucks? This isn't thatfar off? Like, what's this run
on a couple of double a's.What are we doing here? I don't
know, there's probably some of them, Like there's like actually a nuclear cell
(01:24:04):
at the center of it, Acouple of D batteries. Now that I've
been buying a lot of toys thatplug in and require power, Like a
lot of them do have USB portson them that just charged that up.
And I could see that at thisbeing a chargeable thing. Yeah, I
bet the batteries are in the hisback back hump where his gun would store
(01:24:25):
on the toy. If you knowwhat I'm talking about, people who know,
no, no trailer, seven hundreddollars, no trailer. That's eight.
Yeah, but it's actually a realtrailer for a truck. You could
actually you get the trailer it wasdelivered in. Yeah, I think it's
neat. Again, I think watchingthe video is cool. Does it do
(01:24:46):
anything else besides just transform? Ittalks? I mean it better do a
lot for seven. We'll do yourtaxes if you feed it in and uh,
it will make sure that freedom isthe right of all scenting things.
It is cool. It is cool. I will say this. I will
say this about a transformer thing. It is cool. M Yeah, you
(01:25:10):
know it's not cool. What thisis a this is a Okay, before
we get off, I'll say Isaid I joked around with this a little
bit. The new thing is nowtransformers that don't transform the flames. Toys
like five hundred Oh you mean justtoys. You mean just toys? Well,
there anything. They're more like hottoys style, like where they're like,
(01:25:30):
no, you this looks like superarticulate and you put it on a
shelf. Yes, look pretty goodor or the end they're like five hundred
bucks, but they look gorgeous.I also do any of those transformer that
does not transform? Yes, whatis your purpose? That is shitty?
There's not, that's it's against God'swill. I'm with you, like,
(01:25:50):
but I also as a hot asa as an owner of many a hot
toys. Yeah, you get it. I get it. I feel like
a giant piece the dog duty thatI have not since I've moved into this
house unearthed those half a dozen orso. You got that Marty McFly,
(01:26:11):
I got that Marty McFly, Igot that Jack Nicholson joker. Is Marty
McFly hot toys or they certainly? Is it? Certainly? Is okay?
Do you have a couple of sideshows? Right? I have a couple.
I A I think I have aDeadpool side show. Yeah, and
uh I get it, come on, get it, I get it.
That one ikea fucking thing that everyoneon earth owns, like the swarping uh
(01:26:36):
fucking display case whatever it's called.I got like eleven of those with the
Yeah, the D TOF that's probablywhat it really is. Dos on it.
I don't know. It's got. It's got the glass with like the
mirror with like the magnet latch.Yeah. Uh. And I also like
wired up a bunch of those LEDdisplays on there. I think I probably
(01:26:58):
have to redo it because I don'tthink that survived the move. But I
got I got. My wife wasactually yelling at me the other day because
there's there is a room in thishouse where they're all just like in a
corner in a box. I'm bad. Speaking of bad things. Yeah,
did you guys catch wind of thisblockbuster documentary that's on Netflix. It's called
(01:27:20):
The Last Blockbuster? Wait? Isthis new? I thought this? This
is the one in some town reportingon it? Yeah? Yeah you did.
It's in a town called Bend,Oregon. Yes, and the last
Blockbuster on Earth? Is there? Our our dear friend, a friend of
the show Ron Funches, is inthis documentary. It's sort of like a
(01:27:44):
commentating talking head, comedic relief characterand does a great a job of that.
Outside of Ron, this movie isjust not good. Oh boy,
wait, you came here just atrash this movie. Yeah, because I
actually was kind of surprised as tohow bad it was. I want to
get that out there and I wantto talk to you about it. This
(01:28:06):
movie should not have been almost ninetyminutes. Like they just show so much
unnecessary garbage, the information about whyBlockbuster went out of business, and also
the busting the myth that it wasdirectly because of Netflix, which is not,
(01:28:29):
as this movie maintains, is nottrue. It really is. You
know, they just like that informationis super interesting. You're like, oh,
let we talk to all these peopleand we're like dig through the history,
and then you start to realize, like, that's it. That's the
only interesting part of it. There'snothing else that you really care about.
You can only wax nostalgic so muchabout what it was like going into a
(01:28:51):
goddamn video store because that was justa blip. It was a fucking blip
Blockbuster. It kind of was, dude, like, it's like twenty years
for me. It's like twenty yearslike like a cosmic calendar kind of way.
Sure, and the Carl Sagan senseof the way here, I don't
know, maybe maybe that's maybe saythe Jurassic period not very long, and
(01:29:15):
maybe that's an unfair, you know, categorization of like what it is.
But buster would be second like likeI we we we had to watch it
in three sittings because it was somind numbingly stupid at points, like they
were and they like follow these characterswho as we are not anyway. I
know this just sounds like me dunkingon a thing that I doesn't need to
(01:29:36):
be dunked on. But I'm justlike, I couldn't believe. I was
so excited, Well, I wasinterested in watching this thing, and then
I just got something that I wasnot expecting. I got the informational parts
like that stuff. There is somedrama there, and there's some interesting you
know sort of uh twists and turnsin that story that you're like, huh,
(01:29:56):
I can't believe that. Oh Ididn't realize that documentary filmmaking is art
just like it is. It reallyis badly is there? You know,
there's a reason why Errol Morris isnot making this movie because he's got better
fucking things to do. Maybe they'rejust just wasn't that great of a story.
Maybe they just didn't have it.That's the thing. You know,
a lot of documentaries work because maybethey're like uncovering the story as they go
(01:30:17):
where this thing, the story wassort of you know, done before they
began. But the Hollywood Video Town, though, that's like they they spent
like almost what felt like over thirtyminutes just sort of obsessing over the press
that this store was getting. Whatare we doing? We fast forward in
(01:30:39):
half of it. It was insane, just like just like a Blockbuster movie.
I really wish video stores would comeback. But I don't mean Blockbuster.
I mean well, you mean likethe culture you mean the yeah,
you mean you want to hang outstore down the block that had a bunch
of like weird you know, foreignfilms and like stuff that wouldn't just be
found at your average Blockbuster video andwas curated well and was tat with a
(01:31:02):
hole in the wall, you know, either one yeah, you know,
just I'll take another one. Yeah, that's the one that's behind the turn
then doors. Yeahs. The Ithink the video the video story of vhs
and all that stuff is interesting andis important because it was a it was
a really wild thing to let peoplestart renting movies and and having that stuff
(01:31:26):
at home, and that story therelationship and how it went to the Supreme
Court, and the Supreme Court wasbasically like, no, you can't control
what's yeah for a tiny, tinymoment, and they're like, well,
Blockbuster is not really a part ofthat. They came in much later,
they did. But what happened was, uh, you know, the studios
were like, yo, one ofthese VHS tapes ninety nine dollars Batman,
(01:31:48):
remember Batman? Right? And thenif the case went to the Supreme Court,
in the Supreme Court was like,no, you can't fucking control what
someone does after they buy it,you crazy assholes. And and that,
you know, set the precedent. So that's what made renting. What if
we make it a federal crime? It's a federal crime. Like for all
the fucking warning labels you want atthe top of this VHS, Yeah,
(01:32:12):
nobody'll ever copy it. It's afederal It's an FBI is gonna come get
you. There is a dude inthe beginning who like tries to explain like
the absurd Hollywood studio mentality on it. Why like they were there their reasoning
and charging one hundred dollars for aVHS and they're like, if ten people
watch that tape, that's all themoney they'd spend going to the movies anyway.
(01:32:33):
And you're you're just like like you'retalking like there isn't a world.
We're just taping ship off HVO anyway. So that's why, right, it
costs you about five thousand dollars becauselike that if four people get in a
cab and that cab is you know, thirty thousand dollars, like each one
would have to buy the cab,you know, you know, it's the
(01:32:55):
same thing. Fucking sucks. Uhyeah, but now we have Kingdom Hearts,
So take that copy. I don'tknow what that is. I don't
know, but anyway, that's that'snowhere to be seen. Should we take
another break and come back into email. Yeah, alright, let's let's get
(01:33:15):
this set up here. Folks, stick around. We'll be back in a
little bit here, and we areback, and it's time for emails.
(01:33:43):
If you have an email, youcan send them into beast cast at giant
bomb dot com. That is beastcast at giant bomb dot com. Jeff
Backlar Games groups own Jeff Backlar.Let's pulled the emails this week, Jeff
backlar I did. I'm very excitedto explore. Are all the new details
of my new job? Yes?And I now read well. I read
(01:34:08):
all this week. I read allthe emails. What can I say?
They were great. There's a lotof emails. I still don't have access
or the ability to reply reply tothem, so I'm sorry. It's an
eleven click process for me to replyto an email, which adds up and
uh that goes for forwarding too,So they're getting out there. I did
(01:34:30):
lay eyes on every single one ofthem, so it means a lot.
Everyone's saying it in nice, niceemails. Appreciate it. Let's get through
as many as we can, becauseI did. I cut down this list.
I want to say at least threeto four times cut it down to
them. There's a lot of goodemails at times. So let's let's start
off this first one from Julia Vinnieif you will sure, Julia says,
(01:34:57):
it's a late night snack time. It's always attack them. Your fridge is
open and you have a spoon inyour hand. What are you spooning for?
Julia? It'd be whoa palm is? Jon cheese? Now Julia is
from Palisades Park. Here. Whatare you spooning? What are you spoon
what are you selling? Uh?You got some pre you got some pre
(01:35:19):
shredded palm there, Julia. I'mnot sure how I feel about this.
You great? The shredded You great. She's got a bag of shredded and
she's just putting a spoon in there. That's weed. Yeah, okay,
okay, well is I don't knowthe shredded is weed. No, I'm
just saying it's shredded cheese taking aspoon and it's Are you talking about weed?
(01:35:45):
I thought shredded was like a letgo for weed, Like I thought
maybe somebody weed the shredded, becauseI imagine like a baggy that was like
crumbled up shake. You know.I know people like you man, we
act like I haven't smoked weed inten years, so therefore it completely left
my brain and I have no understandingof what it was. Ever like smoking
(01:36:08):
weed four times a day. Okay, we know what you did. Don't
give me this hello, hello fellowkids. Bullshit. Okay. Anyway,
I have not been on the street. I have not dipped into the shredded.
I've not been on the Devil's littersin about a quarter century. So
that's funny because what I would pickwith my spoon is a whole hunk of
(01:36:29):
less. Anyway, I was gonnasay, you need, you need to
you need to grate that parmesan cheeseon demand, is what I'm saying.
If you especially here in New Jerseyplanning a great palm. Yeah, but
like if you're in wherever you're in. Okay, let's actually answer the question.
What, uh well, if Ikept the if you keep the pea
(01:36:50):
beat, if you keep the peanutbutter in the fridge, it's peanut butter.
That's probably what I'm gonna just takeout of there and and scoop into
my mouth. That's fair, Alex, What would you do? So?
I find that generally what I amgoing into the fridge it is not with
a utensil in my hand. Itis because I'm grabbing like a pickle or
something like that, or a forkif I'm eating, you know, some
(01:37:12):
some other leftover thing. If Ihad to pick a spoon, it would
probably be peanut butter. Or ifI would just go to the freezer and
get some goddamn ice cream. Ohgonna go Oper, where's your Is your
freezer on the top, it's abovetop the freezer call like that audible right
at the line of scrimmage there likemakes a lot of sense to me,
because you know, because you knowyou're gonna make out well with some ice
cream. Like I don't, Yeah, I don't go to the Yeah,
(01:37:35):
I guess. So it depends likemy my freezer doesn't. Like the ice
cream isn't rock hard in my freezer? Yeah, it's uh, it's it's
it's scupable. Uh no, can't, can't. I don't run up.
I don't describing it as I don'trun up to the goddamn uh fridge with
(01:37:56):
the utensil. And I'm just likeneed food now, you know. Like
but if I was going to thefridge, I would definitely get a nice
scoop of tempty ice cream cream cheese. Tempty cream cheese. Okay, is
that super whipped come on, pinkthe pink tub. It's kind of like
a Northeast thing. I don't knowif they sell tempty elsewhere, but empty
(01:38:18):
is the legit whipped cream cheese. She's a crime, but a crime not
because it's terrible, because it's likebecause it's six hundred calories that it should
be illegal, yes, because it'slike, yeah, you don't realize that
this this isn't cottage cheese. Youshouldn't just be scooping this into your mouth.
I'll do the cottage cheese too,And I love Trader Joe's. Yeah,
(01:38:40):
Trader Joe's cottage cheese is banging.I am too good for it.
Fu cotta cheese terrible food. Ilove it cotta cheese. An apple sauce.
Learned about that off from my kids. Love apple sauce, and you're
making me not want to ever eatit. Yeah, you'd be surprised,
dude, give it a try, don't not. Everybody loves apple sauce.
Not talking about cotta cheese, butapple sauce. It's good. It's like
(01:39:01):
the foul apple sauce that way. It's just got a really short like shelf
life, Like you can't like thesecond you mix up. How does chuese
an apple sauce? Like, yougotta eat it within like eleven minutes because
if you don't, if it getstoo close to the room, that's what
they mix together to make the greenslime on. You can't do that on
television. Yeah, presumably, sure, but yeah, that's that is the
(01:39:25):
story with late Night spoon in.Thank you for the email, Julia Alex,
please answer this question from Chris.I suppose I can do that,
Hey beast cast so. I recentlypurchased a high end moded game Boy Advance.
Along with the game Boy, Ibought a lot of GBA games.
In this patch of games, Ifound a still in plastic pristine copy of
(01:39:45):
Tony Hawk's Underground Too. I'm ata crossroad. Do I open the game
to play or leave it preserved inits an original state forever and an add
an addendum here in parentheses, oruntil it becomes profitable to sell it.
I love this game and I reallywant to play it again. Chris,
your games. First of all,Chris, stay out of Jeff Gershman's garage.
(01:40:09):
Second of all, Chris, firstof okay, Third of all,
what's the mod on the GBA?What are we talking here? It couldn't
play like it couldn't play like ROMs? Can you just pop a ram in
there? Because I'm gonna say,if you can get if you can get
just a cart with ROMs on it, maybe just put mat me go find
Thug two and yeah, if it'sramen popping, I say, go for
(01:40:30):
it. Yeah, yeah, whatthe storage space on that would be?
Yeah, Like what's the moded Yeah, that's a that's a that's a deal
breaker here. Yeah, I don'tknow. I don't actually know what a
moded GBA would do for you,so I'm not certain. But I also
am of the opinion that if it'snot a situation where you can just load
up a ROM play your game, just play it. Who cares? Now,
keep it sealed up, put itin loose sight, you should go
(01:40:51):
get it graded. Sailing ocean.Yeah, loose sight is probably toxic.
That's why you need to put thatloose sight then in a plastic bag,
just so you can't off gas.If not to look at it, it's
to look at seeled things are tolook at, not to open. If
you're unless your goal is to bea collector and make money and do this
(01:41:12):
kind of bullshit, like just itdoesn't matter. Play your fucking video games.
That's how I feel about it.That's how I've always felt about it.
Okay, I want to be theperson that goes and opens that fucking
Christine copy of Super Mario three that'ssold for like six hundred million dollars.
I want to be the guy thatwalks in there with a fucking box cutter.
I'm like, time to go towork. M Yeah, I hate
(01:41:33):
that ship. All right. I'lltake this next one. Probably probably go
on people's houses and you peel thatfucking protective film off of shit. Though,
oh yeah, I take the plasticoff their couches too. You're you're
at my grandparents. No, no, no, no, so sorry,
you're not meant to sit on theplastic, old lady. But it makes
(01:41:57):
my thoughts sound good. Is thatit's not really still a thing. I
mean, I'm sure that ship's outthere, but yeah, I'm sure still
people get plastic on couches. Ifyou got have you been to queens recently?
Yes? Fine, plastic on couches. That's actually a requirement. It's
a blue law. Do you havemore than two of those like fake marble
lion statues in froy in front ofyour house? Then do you have to
(01:42:18):
have at least some It's weighted byhow much uncooked pasta is in your pantry,
and that's how't work. I'll takethis one from Marlin. Marlin says,
high gang. I assume it's pandemicrelated. But have any of you
noticed a shortage on PS four controllers. I'm in need of a new one,
(01:42:39):
and Walmart targeting Best Spies website areall sold out of most colors and
models, and the prices on Amazonare getting out of control. A lot
of sellers trying to get over eightydollars for them, seeing if anyone noticed
this. I did notice this.I can't replace ANYPS four stuff in a
while, so I didn't know.I had a buddy reach out and was
like, hey, dude, Iknow you have must have a billion of
them, give me one because they'resuper expensive and I can't find any.
(01:43:00):
I don't know what that is.I don't know what that is. I
could just be that they're manufacturing Prioritiesor elsewhere right now and putting out a
lot of new hardware for that stuff. Like I don't I don't know if
it's necessarily related to any shortages ofanything, but that's the only thing,
because they're having a hard enough timejust getting those systems out. The PS
five's out, so maybe they justdon't have the resources. Yeah. I
also don't know if they're like comingfrom the same plant, but well,
(01:43:21):
yeah, I don't know. That'syeah, I don't know, but but
I I can, I can confirmthat that is an issue in my in
my experience. Yeah, I don'tknow who who? Who was the ketchup
criminal last week? We ketch upin the fridge. It's in the fridge,
(01:43:43):
open open, ketchup? Yeah? All right? Then then then then
you can take this from rowan whowhich which? Which person who believes in
proper sanitation should take this? Andboth of you, both of you ketchup
criminals will, but Vin, you'rethe one who can take it from rolling
there. Okay. After hearing lastweek's discourse on ketchup cats up in and
(01:44:06):
out of the fridge, I feellike I must weigh in ketchup catch up
or tomato sauce as we do.I have to take this, yeah,
because I wanted you to catch upor tomato sauce. Tomato sauce, as
we call it in New Zealand,is better cold. Why contrast? Do
(01:44:26):
you know how a really cold sliceof tomato in a sandwich with some hot
meat really hits the spot? Idon't know what the fuck are you doing
down there on that island, man. That's the wrong way to put that
in your country. What are youtalking about? Yeah, like a thing
that interrupts your your your tasting experienceapparently is a good thing. You know
(01:44:50):
how ice cream pears well with ahot apple pie? Okay, yeah,
yeah it does in that example.Yeah yeah, yeah. Contrast means balance
and balance. Contrast does not meanbalance. Contrast means balance and balance.
Balance is the way of all things. I was not always this way.
(01:45:13):
I grew up keeping the sauce inthe pantry tomato sauce aka ketchup. This
was a point of contention when Imoved in with my partner because she insisted
on keeping it in the fridge.I became It became a constant thing where
we would move the sauce. Everytime they stay sauce on they say catch
up. Okay, We moved theketchup back and forth and pretend to be
(01:45:33):
legit mad about it. So naturally, once I realized that fridge sauce is
the new gospel, I couldn't actuallytell her that. I kept moving it
back to the cupboard and for anothertwo years or so, until finally telling
her and letting the joke die.We are now a happy family of two
women and a crisp, cool bottleof sauce. You know, look,
(01:45:56):
you guys are right, okay, but I think I'm Look, I keep
it in the fridge, Okay,I do. I just prefer broom temper
carriage, right. So I soif i'm if I know I'm gonna have
like a nice plate of fries,or if I'm gonna use ketchup in a
certain capacity, I will put itout. And we talked about this last
(01:46:16):
week. I will keep it out, let it take off some of the
chill, and then enjoy it likethat. Do you think there's a problem
here? Do you think there's aproblem here where Rowan from New Zealand is
actually confusing tomato sauce with ketchup ina way that maybe you know what it's.
(01:46:39):
It's it's like Australia adjacent. Theydo weird things down there. Maybe
they just call it that they could, but it is I would not.
I would want my tomato sauce warm, too too hot as well. So
maybe maybe we are in a situationwhere we have backed into this accidentally.
We need to take a second andsay a point, hold some pictures up
(01:47:01):
of like spaghetti with the red thingon it and be like tomato sauce ketchup.
Catch yeah, yeah, maybe maybeit's a communication SketchUp, Yeah,
ketch up. Okay, you know, French fries tomato sauce ketchup could go
either way. Okay, someone inthe back to sales mayonnaise, pocine macines
(01:47:25):
anyway. Uh, that we canwrap that up. But I did want
to address the syrup conundrum, andwe had plenty of people emailing about the
syrup issues, syrup drama, syrupconspiracy theories. I'll take this one from
Chris and then a quick follow upfrom someone else, and this is as
far as I'm concerned. I feellike on the other side of this,
the jury's gonna be hung. Heybs, guys, I'm not wanting to tell
(01:47:48):
people what to do in their ownhomes, but I want to at least
send a little cautionary tale about thebenefits of refrigeration. Just said last week
that he leaves his maple syrup outbecause quote, it's just sugar. What's
the worst second happened? Well, yeah, that was a quick I think,
so I said something like that.Well, there was a time I
was at a friend's place and someof us were teasing him about the state
of his kitchen, and it specificallycame up that he doesn't even refrigerate his
(01:48:12):
maple syrup. He insisted that it'salways kept out this way and it's been
fine. Fast forward to the nextmorning where we ordered breakfast food to help
with our hangovers, and I orderedpancakes, a favorite of mine. As
soon as I started pouring syrup ontothem, what comes out of the bottom
of the syrup, long strands ofwhat I can only assume we're large cultures
affect, So listen. Listen.First of all, it also sounds like
(01:48:34):
you were also possibly in something adjacentto like a dumpster kitchen, or you
were in that you were in ahouse from seven Like what do you like?
What stop it? Did? Hecome in and be like, well,
that's the that's the sixth one rightthere. Here's the thing, okay,
I still maintain keeping syrup is okay. Outside is okay? And Zach
(01:48:57):
sent us a photo different email thatwas Chris See from Boston. Zach sent
a counterpoint email of a photo ofa bottle of syrup on the back that
circles the words refrigeration not require thereyou go neither is I don't want to
think about this email. Stop Alex, We'll stop thinking about the email and
(01:49:19):
we'll talk about game Pass. Iwas pleasing. I was eating cereal the
other day and spiders and centipedes crawledout of the bag. What are you
doing? That is so fucking stupid. Don't even, don't even, don't
even Alex thinks this is from Dylan. Please sure thing. Since game passes
fruition, we have seen plenty ofgames come to the platform, new and
(01:49:39):
old. These games being easily availablethrough subscription and with limited free time in
life, we bounce off some gamesin this ecosystem quicker than others. Do
you, guys, feel any needor give any thought to paying for games
you enjoyed on playing on the platformbefore Microsoft pays the publishers and developers for
the games to be there. However, this is similar to music for me,
when it started to mainly resolve revolvearound streaming platforms. Buying an album
(01:50:01):
now is a bit of an outdatedconcept, but there is some guilt if
you enjoy it and don't buy it. I feel the same about games on
game Pass. Do you relate youwell? I kind of do. Like,
here's the thing I went out,I paid for Spirit Fair. I
played the whole thing on game Passlike I finished it, and then I
was like, you know what,I'm gonna throw some money at these deaths
(01:50:21):
because this is my favorite game oflast year. It should be done.
And I've done that with a coupleof game Pass games. But like,
I've also had this experience where alot of stuff I played on game Pass
that wasn't like an old game,I just kind of wanted to go back
to and be like, ah,I want to see what that is.
I haven't played that far in orI bounced off and I was just like,
yep, I'm good. And Ithink it's really up to you.
(01:50:42):
Like I think, if you wantto support the devs, if you want
to support the companies that made thosegames, and you really liked what you
played, then yeah, I thinkyou should throw the money at him.
But you know, the whole pointof the thing is that it's there for
you to try that stuff and makeyour own determination. If I was gonna
say, like, what if youcould you know, I don't know,
tip them or something, wouldn't thatbe good? Well, I don't know.
(01:51:03):
I think like it of the gamefor the price what I mean.
If it's like a forty dollars game, you're like, well, go buy
a skin. By the time youfinish on game Pass, it'll probably be
ten bucks the way way things gothese days, So I do that.
I don't necessarily do it for gamePass, though, I will buy it
like the DLC or something, becausesometimes that's not on game Pass, or
(01:51:24):
I'll buy stuff inside. I'll Ido that more for stuff we get codes
for for work. If I likethe game and we got a code for
it from work, I will generally. Not generally, I will sometimes go
buy it on a different platform orsomething and just be like, you know,
like I like this developer. Sometimesit's a small game, I want
to play it here anyway, Orif we were like sharing games or something
(01:51:46):
like that, I'd be like,I'm just gonna buy it and buy that.
Sometimes I'll do it. When weused to get discs for games,
I would do it just to buythe digital version and be like, I
really like this game. I wantto have it. I'm gonna give this
this back, I'll hand it offto somebody else, I'm gonna bring it
back in the office. I'm justgonna buy the Horizon was the last one.
Maybe I got on disc and Idid that for like, I really
like this game, I'm gonna I'mjust gonna buy it. So yeah,
it depends. Usually it's only forstuff I really like. And usually it's
(01:52:10):
if we have it and we gota code for something and I'm like Usually
smaller developers think I bought Haities likethree times. Yeah, like everybody?
Yeah, yeah, all right, very good. Do we have time for
one or two? More? Onemore? Okay, Vinny? Yes,
(01:52:33):
let me say this one from Jason. You got it, Jason from Chicago,
That would be the one. Okay, this says hello best cast.
Dust frequently collects on my gun.Damns. They are so fragile, especially
real grade kits, that parts areoften getting knocked off and poses are ruined
(01:52:56):
when I try to clean them.I relate, Jason. I have now
given up and opted for the strategyof gently blowing on them once in a
while without touching them. I can'teven blow too hard or they'll get knocked
down and a domino effect ensues. How does Vinnie deal with this? What
does he do with his toy boxesand extra parts and accessories? Though this
(01:53:18):
is deep, The boxes take upmore room than the toys themselves. But
I don't have the heart to getrid of them. How do you save
them from the children? Help?Sincerely, Jason from Chicago. While let
me take this one step at atime, we'll break this down. First
of all, don't clean your toys. Well, the first of all,
it's a very it's a it's aweekend long procedure of taking them down and
(01:53:40):
getting those long Q tips and wipingthe dust off. Or you're gonna have
to take them down. Give hima blow. Hey, look at it
as an opportunity to rearrange your shelf. You're gonna do some blowing at the
blower. You blow on them.Gotta be careful sometimes I hear them gun
damns or the Gundam's are are fragile, and those pieces do come first.
If you didn't glue the thrusters inand stuff, pooh, that thing's gone.
(01:54:02):
Forget it, or like God forbid, one of them falls. That
thing is you might as well justabandon that shelf. That's gone. What
do I do with the boxes?I get rid of the boxes. I
cannot keep the boxes anymore, Ido, I can't. It's at some
point one of the people I followon for the in the scene of collecting,
said, what are those boxes worthof you? You're gonna resell this
(01:54:25):
thing? How much of your lifehave you given up storing these damn boxes?
Is it worth the difference in priceyou're gonna get back? Think about
how much your apartment or the realestate you're in cost. And if that
thing we're charging, if those boxeswere charging rent, are you gonna make
that money back on the premium ifit's in a box? And I'm possible,
yes, but what about your mentalhealth on it? So right now
(01:54:46):
it takes me a little bit,but I fold the boxes up and get
them out of there and are gonewith them. No more boxes, Bye
bye bye box parts and accessories. You can almost see it if you're watching
the video version. But there isa little bit the thing of little bins
here. That's where they go allthe little spare hands and you can't see.
(01:55:08):
It's stacked too high the top one. Uh. If you see,
maybe you can see some tape onit, spare hands, extra weapons,
stands, tubes, faces of screws, bits. I have enough hot toys
where like I probably need a storagesituation like that. Yeah, Like,
oh, twenty seven hands great, this one points, this one's waving.
Oh the sunglasses, the alternative, the thing that was in the cartoon,
(01:55:30):
ones that came with it that younever want to pose with your your stupid
toy. All that stuff gets itput in the bins and gets sorted out.
Megatron. Remember this thing, youhold this thing, Remember the mace.
He holds that. See if youcan find a spot, they'll fit
that and sit. My problem withthe car Tom he's getting too much into
these accessories. They're charging five fortoy. The plastic ain't any good anymore,
(01:55:51):
and they put on all these accessories. You don't care. How many
Daniels do you fucking need on yourshelf. All of them suck anyway.
Oh that was spicy. Yeah, listen to me. Listen to me.
Your skids better be good. Listento me that fucking new Star scream.
If that thing's fucking weak joints andthe plastic is like the hound you put
out, I'm fucking coming for you. WHOA, No, that's was a
(01:56:15):
two hundred and thirty dollars toy.You make it right, You fix a
new Vinny s go. I knowyou should be doing this the right way
you shouldn't. Alright, the pastnew labeling, and Iune's ready to fall
apart. It's like a polod dustover there anyway, So so what I
(01:56:35):
do? Okay, that's what youdo. I just spray it all with
pledge. It's really easy. Guesswhat dust hates pledge doesn't want to settle
on it. It's scared of it. It's scared of it, doesn't want
(01:56:55):
to be there at all. Ispray it right in Marty's face. Hot
ties, Marty, he's been stiffas a brick. You ever see the
blob you know that's seen in theblob where over there? Just yeah,
you know, Uh no, Ithey're all dusty. Here's the only thing
I could say is like put itin a case. If you could swing
it a case, will will mitigatethat substantially, because as we all know,
(01:57:20):
inside of a nikea case, uhthus creates a vacuum uh where there
is no air, cannot cannot survivein there. And uh no, I
have not I have noticed that thatdoes mitigate it. But I have so
much. Yeah, you just thisjust this necessary evil. There's really no
good way to do it. Likeit's also you're saying all that shit behind
(01:57:42):
you is like, paynous, it'sbad. Can you pick up? Can
you pick up one controller and blowoff the dust? One transformer and blow
off the dust? Is it bad? I just want to see it,
just want here's it. Here's ifhere's the fun game? Ready? Ye
if you're watching the audio version orlistening to the other version of poege but
(01:58:04):
backlar name a transformer but optimist prime? No, okay, how about uh
the garbage brabot bumblebee bumblebee? He'slike what he's like, how many bumblebees?
(01:58:24):
How many bumblebees do you have? One? I didn't get the remake
of it. I don't like this, okay, so blow off the dust.
See it? He's picking up okay, trying to hold him up.
It's it's hard to see. Yeah, like a little bit on there.
Yeah, it's kind of a he'scool, right, it's a hefty guy.
Huh, he's a little guy.But let's see if we can see
(01:58:45):
his window there, it's kind ofblurry. I'm gonna I'm gonna rub my
finger halfway on it. You shouldjust right clean me on it. Yeah,
there you go. Okay, there'sthere's contrast there, there's there's definitely
needs a little clean. I likethis little do you? Yeah, that's
cute. What's a sea spray? What the hell is a sea spray?
(01:59:08):
Is that sea spray is short forspray? Nerd? Do you have to
see? Here's the here's the firstone. Yeah, here's the second one.
I like chunky. I like chunkysea spray. Yeah, chunky spray
is alright, chunky one. Whatis that airboat? He said? He's
yeah, it's a hovercraft, likea hydrof What do they call him?
Hovercraft? Yeah, he's a catamaran. Anyway, if you're listening to audio
(01:59:35):
version, I held up my toys. Yeah cool, we got that.
Yeah, I'm gonna put him backwhile you guys forgot the next Oh that
was the last email. That's it. So there you have it. And
also, uh flawless podcast from lastweek. We had zero corrections. And
when I say we had zero corrections, that is code where I didn't like
(01:59:56):
any of the ones that came in. Now that that was Does that how
it works? That's how it works? Yeah, okay, okay, we
decided if they matter or not.Yeah, they were not. They were
considered invalid. That's not corrected.Okay, that's gonna do it. Hey,
I got this light here. IfI do this, oh, scary
time again. This is the videoversion, spooky, that's gonna do it.
(02:00:25):
For the podcast. Can you havethe Transformer the Ghostbuster thing ready for
next week so I can see that. Oh we didn't talk about. I
just want to see you. Iwant to see a transforms. It's a
pretty good looking acto one. What'swhat's the what's the transformer's name? Tron
is the name? Uh yeah,I think so Ectotron. The Deloreans coming
soon? No shit, yeah,so se Ectotron that they really stayed up
(02:00:49):
all night. I don't think theyshould be allowed to do this unless they
find a way to insert them intothe cannon like they have to appear in
the cartoon. What about what aboutthe movie coming out? What would have
Ectotron is in Ghostbusters Afterlife? Okay, well that's just stupid. Well look,
(02:01:09):
man, that is a very plausiblething, let me tell you.
I mean that movie does look kindof stupid. But nonetheless, when when
life splatters you with marshmallow goo, just go with it. That's Ectotron's quote
when Ghostbusters need a ride to thenext paranormal hotspot. It's nice to have
one who can handle a protime pack. So Ectotron in the Ghostbusters universe,
(02:01:32):
but not in the Transformers universe. It is I am very I am disappointed
by Ecotron. Ectotron is very bad. Like when life splatters you with marshmallow
goo. Yeah it sucks, Yeah, just sucks. Just go with it.
My my rebot Ghostbusters. That's anadult transformer. My shoes are my
(02:01:55):
shoes might be better than that description. Hey, but what is what's the
dolor in transformer called the lower Tron? Shut the fuck up? Really,
Dolores? Oh, Dolors? No, I don't know, Okay, that
I would actually I don't know,I don't know. Look it up.
Look up Dolorian transformers. They actuallyjust put the consciousness of John DeLorean into
its optimist capacitor. It's the onlytransformer that does cocaine. It's butthead of
(02:02:21):
Tron mister fusion. Yeah. Iheld off getting them for a long time,
and then they were on sale.I got one, and I was
like, oh, I might aswell get them both. I kind of
want that. Yeah, well here'sthe good news. I would buy that.
This, here's the good news it'snever coming. I got it,
and then I was like, oh, that's this is some classic box on
(02:02:42):
here, Alex I'm never gonna openthis now. The box is the old
Transformers box. Oh I couldn't tell. I don't know that. Oh,
open your toys. It's open yourtoys and play with your then open your
fucking toys. Yeah, make ittransform once. I'm not saying to do
it right now. I'm just saying, at some point you gotta open that
(02:03:05):
I was looking to see. Well, you don't have to tear asked the
box. You don't have to destroyit. A couple of things, all
right. Anyway, let's finish thispodcast. That's all right, folks,
