lot of the original Odd World stuff. I think, so until the new
game it takes place. After that, you are the story and set up.
There is the Moodawkins, who arethe race of enslaved workers there are
being turned into food by the overlordsthere. And who's eating them the other

people? Yeah, the overlords profitsare down, so they have to make
a new product, and they justhad to make them you know a little.
What we've got here, what's ourresource? Some Madakins anyway, Odd
World, lighthearted, fair anyway.Abe sets them all free from UH and

here. Basically it's clunky, it'snot it's clunky. You do this by
this kind of two point five Dscroll moving you know, left and right
world. As you move Abe around, it's a lot of stealth some puzzles
in there. The coolest part Ilove is when you can kind of chant

to possess an enemy and then takeover take over their body and kind of
move them around open doors and shootother things with them. I really enjoy
those parts. Of it. Idon't love the stealth parts. I think
the aiming when you throw stuff isalso not very good. Like I said,
it's clunky, but it still hasthe charm is still there. If

when I went to the PSN anda browser went to PSN and a
browser to double check this information,it's pretty well mark if you had a
little PS five TAS four PS fivetag. But it is just kind of
confusing. Okay, again, freeon PS plus if you have a five
and PlayStation plus, so that isnot just free. You don't just get
the game for free. So yeah, I've played a bunch of it.

I'm gonna keep playing it. Playedit a little bit this morning because I
am enjoying it. I think thecheckpoint stuff, and those who have played
it, hear me out. Letme know what you think the checkpoint stuff.
I wish you can manually checkpoint byclicking on the little checkpoint icon when
you pass it. There are pointswhere you run pass a checkpoint and then
have to engage in a pretty longsequence of puzzle solving, which you can

blow at any second, Like youcan mess it up, and then it's
a lot of stealth and waiting,so you're gonna have to wait for timers
to go down again. Once yourestart that checkpoint, you can pick it
up what I'm putting down like out. Yeah, Like imagine hitting a checkpoint
and having to wait, you know, twenty seconds for a wheel to spin
around to the right position and thenyou can move no before you have to
make a tough jump or something.Then you die and then like you just

re checkpoints and you have to waittwenty six sounds dumb. So it'd be
nice if you could like hit thecheckpoint and then you know, the wheels
moving and then just go back andjust hit the checkpoint again to get to
a spot because there's a lot oftrial and erin. Like I said,
things can go sideways pretty quickly.I've also hit points where you're trying to
save the Maducans and they'll be intow and you know, you don't want

them to get shot or killed becauseyou're trying to do this well, and
you know you'll you'll hit a checkpointright as one's dying, and you're like,
I can't reload the previous checkpoint,and now I have to restart the
whole level of phone. Some stufflike that kind of clunky. I've also
heard reports of bugs in it thatI have not necessarily encountered, but some
some game stopping bugs, which canbe tough. It's a it's a it

can be a little punishing up pointsat that point. It'll test your test
your patients. So you know,I'm curious to see what other people think
of it. It is of atype those games I did enjoy the first
two. I think they got alot of traction in Europe. They seem
too. I kind of put likeOld Odd World in kind of the same

vein as like Medieval you know,yeah, those kinds of well regarded but
not necessarily extremely popular PlayStation games ofold and look shout out to them for
continuing to keep that thing alive.And it like Soul Storm itself, I
think it's been in development for atleast like five years or something. So

game. I thought it was gonnabe a much longer. The kind of
ending just kind of rolled up onme and was like, I think two

whale Oil. That's a game thatgets better as it goes on,

especially as you get more and morepowers, it gets to be a lot
of fun. And uh, Ithink once that game clicked in my head,
I really didn't enjoy it. It'sabout the second or third time time
I tried getting into it, andI still don't like a lot of things
about it. Half the powers,if you're trying to do a run where
you don't kill a lot of people, are useless, like they're mostly death

powers like hey, kill these peopleturn into ash when you kill them,
or the swarm of rats will devourpeople. And I'm like, I'm trying
to kill as few people as possiblein this run. So but that,
but that being said, I thinkyou probably wouldn't get enough upgrade points to
do. Maybe you can. Somebodyelse who is a very those dishonored heads
out there could let me know ifthere are enough runs to upgrade all those

powers. I tried to collect mostlyall of them, and I don't I
don't think I would have made itto upgrading all those powers. So it
is a focus. It's gotta followthat that heart thing, yeah boom boom.
I do hate that. Every timeyou pop your your vision and it's
lies whatever it is it says eyesor whatever it's like, dude, I'm
popping this thing like every every timethe cool down goes. I don't need

to so annoying. This is creepy. Yeah. I liked it that the
blink is so fun, like gettingthat blink and upgrading it and just blinking
behind somebody. And once you gotit, there's a bone charm for choking

not trying to kill him, throwthem into a corner, and then blink
away. That's that's a fun game. I gotta figure out which DLC I

the screen goes red or sometimes grayin a way that doesn't recover or takes
ages to recover, like minutes torecover. But if you hit like the
back button to pull up a menu, it'll go away, or if you
hit start to pull up a menu, it'll go away. You get this
like you get this like hit jellyon your screen. That's like, yeah,
I get it, But then itjust doesn't go away until you kind

of pull up a menu like seventimes. An each time you pull up
the menu, that goes away alittle bit. And I looked it up
and you know, it just wasn'ta lot there, and it makes sense
for a game that's very old.I don't know if I'm the only one
playing Dishonored. It was like,wow, it's time for Dishonored. It's
funny when games, uh, youplay very old games on very new hardware

and like the loading screens haven't achance to even sit there for a second,
or like there's information on loading screensand you're like, oh, I
bit back in the day, peoplewould like read this like it's just a
blip, you know. So thishas the thing where it's it sits there
until you push a but it's almostinstantaneous, like it runs incredibly well,
I'll say on that Series X ina way that made it very nice.

I played. It's just one ofthose series where like I played it for
a while, I dug it,and then something else came along and I

and see. But I my initialproblems with it are the busy work is
not offset enough by the charm forme to want to do the busy work,
which is you know, I mean, look that's the animal crossing formula,

is because you like the characters,you like the writing, you like building
your space, You're like doing allthat stuff you say, So that's that's
the that's the premise. We'll gowith it. As far as this goes,
I have not really latched onto anyof that stuff. I think the
art style is cute, if alittle distracting and sometimes hard to tell what

I'm supposed to be looking at andcollecting. And the characters are fine,
but the thing they're trying to dowhere like, you know you're helping these
spirits and you know you're you're talkingto them, interacting with them. It
does like it's not trying to bethis, but it is inevitably. The
thing I go to is spear Fairer, a game where the reason you want

to keep doing the busy work isbecause you like these fucking spirits, you
know, even the ones who areassholes, You are interested in their personalities,
who are interested in trying to dothings for them, right, And
I'm not getting any of that fromthis, Like I'm not having that that
feeling of I'm I want to keepengaging with these characters and yeah, Cozy
Grove. And you know the ultimatetest is I've put that game in front

of my girlfriend who fucking still playsAnimal Crossing every day, and she is
playing it. But there is thisconstant feeling of begrudging that seems to come
out every time I talk about She'slike, I don't like this. I'm
not into this, I don't digthis. So why are you still playing
it? I don't know. Andthat's the answer. So I don't know.
Like I'll give it a little moretime. But I kind of feel
like that one might be amiss forme. Okay, okay, you know,

kids, I downloaded the it takestwo uh, and put the kids in
front of that very teachable moment.There some some learning going on about learn
about well not that learning that itis okay to get divorced, and it

is okay for people who don't likeeach other. We have a lot of
friends who are divorced. It isokay for people who don't get along to
not feel guilty and to not stayin the house together and buy a magic

and we pause it and we talkand we go through it and like,

perfectly enjoyable co op. Yeah,if you just pretend none of the characters

ear muffs and blinders, no,no, kind of like there's some salty
language in there, and that's like, okay, but they're But the big
takeaway is they're pretty good at it. Like they're getting older, they're getting
games. They're like and they fairwith the with the nail gun and I
did so I did. I didsome of that with my son and it

was fine. Yeah. My daughtergave me the controller, was like can
you do this? And I waslike okay, but she's six. He's
nine, so he was able to. He I did this shooting the nails.
He did the jumping. But theythey did like the timing on the
button presses thing they did they've donemost of the game themselves, some of

the boss fights. I take thecontroller. My my daughter gets frustrated,
she gives me the controller. ButI love that. I love and like
it's like you do this. Yeah. I want to say, like seven
at a rate was probably around thetime I started feeling okay playing harders,

six. I was probably if Iwas playing any video games, I was

probably playing them at a friend's house, and it was usually like, what
are the easy games, Let's let'sjust play duck Hunt. I don't know,
but you know, like at acertain I think that was around the
age when I started being able tounderstand like, oh, I know how
to do these button prompts. Iknow how to deal with you know,
challenging design like bullet hell games,what have you. You know, things
like this is the nys Era.So it was a different thing, But

nonetheless I feel like that's where Ikind of start figuring it out. Yeah,
I mean, my son, they'reway better than us. He's ye,
that's two fucking buttons, man,come on, he's good. My
daughter's also very My daughter and someof the platforming staff I'm like, kiddo,

She does that like smile and likeno, like yeah, yeah, I'm

I mean I kind of need toalmost like figure out how to wind back

this is this? Is this akind of uh there's three tiers of game,

you're old enough, you got it, you can go and play.

hard, but maybe like content wise, it is like fun kind of okay,

so that seems like an adult game. So Dishonored, if I'm stealthing

that borderline? Because I think it'sit's it's cartoony, it's blood and gore,

cartoony. The thematically though, probablypushes it into adult game. I'm
just like, yeah, like hey, this you're paying attention to that story.

could be you play it. It'snot a call of duty where you're just
like your goal is to go andjust mow down everybody, right, Like
you can get through that game andput him to sleep. And like when

clearly thematically, that clearly dangerous thoseghosts died. Man, that's dark.

the kids. I have worked outa situation where I tried to squeeze in

have breaks like every forty five minutesor something. So they're running downstairs.
