A few weeks ago, an AI-powered teddy bear powered by ChatGPT and shipped from China was recalled after it started giving kids graphic sex advice, BDSM instructions, and even telling them where to find knives in their house—without being prompted for any of that. Yes, even CNN had to cover it.
So as a new mom who is firmly a wooden-toys-and-vintage-Americana kind of girl, I needed to know:
👉 Is that nightmare teddy bear just a one-off…
or is this what AI kids’ toys are actually doing behind the scenes?
I ordered three of the leading AI toys you can grab on Amazon — including a demonically possessed La BooBoo-style “Emotional AI Companion” a hyper-stimulating little robot called Miko, and a plush rocket buddy named Grok — and tested them on camera so you don’t have to. The results? Deeply disturbing.
As a mom, I will never be putting one of these AI toys under my Christmas tree. I want my daughter playing with real toys, real books, and real people—not a data-harvesting robot that can be updated overnight with whatever ideology the manufacturer wants to push.
