Cozy Snap (00:00):
What's going on guys
and welcome back to another
episode of the Snapchat betterlate than never as I'd like to
say, actually, we haven't had tosay that too many times.
This is probably the latestwe've gotten Snapchat out.
We are filming this as ofWednesday.
So we are midway through theweek here.
So you can expect anotherSnapchat episode, obviously to
hit you guys early next week,Monday as typical, but we wanted
(00:22):
to go ahead and get this done.
We have not broken our streakyet.
We wanted to keep it this way.
We wanted to.
To ensure that we don't miss aweek here and how you doing bud?
Glad, glad to be able to dothis.
Alexander Coccia (00:34):
Yeah, I'm
doing great cozy and it's like
it's, it's been a pretty crazyweek.
Obviously a lot of interestabout the Snapchat, you know,
where the Snapchat's been.
And we got a brand new card thatcame out, which I think was by
far one of the most anticipatedcards to come out this season.
We've got a lot of talk aboutbuddy, a lot to talk about.
Cozy Snap (00:49):
Yeah, man, that's,
that is for sure.
We have as one of the subjects, the future of the Snapchat, and
we don't want to scare you guyseven early.
It has nothing to do with usstopping the Snap.
So I get this is a greattransition What we're talking
about so guys we are now two twoand a half years Yeah, two and a
half years that we have notmissed an episode and we never
plan on it We never plan on it.
We've had some crazy thingshappen from power outages to
(01:11):
trips to you name it And we'vegot it done.
And recently this week it waslike The triple full man quite
the busy week over here.
You know, first and foremost, asI'm sure you guys saw was
commentating just a dream ofmine being able to do a pro
event of casting.
It was good.
I was doing that for Marvelrivals.
Super fun.
But on top of that, one of myone of my kids, I have one kid
(01:33):
might get out of medical thing.
We had to work through and thenmy my side of the family came
and only get to see him once ayear.
They came in as the castingconcluded to go to Disneyland,
so I am fresh off two days atthe, the happiest place on
Earth.
I feel like death.
They don't tell you that whenyou're, when you're there, that
you come out feeling like deathand destruction.
(01:53):
But here we are, man.
We're able to get the we don'twant to break our two and a half
year streak, so we wanted tohave Maybe a little bit of a
quicker one, but an episode ofthe Snapchat.
Alexander Coccia (02:01):
Absolutely,
and I want to start off by
saying, first of all, congratulations on the work that
you did.
With Marvel Rivals in thecasting position, because I know
for a fact that that's a dreamcome true for you.
We've talked about, you know, casting, like, just Us
ourselves, you know, you know, shooting the breeze, stuff like
that.
We, I know how important it isto you.
And I had an opportunity towatch you at work and I have to
(02:21):
say you were absolutelytremendous.
And I'm not just saying that toyou because you're my friend.
I'm saying that to you assomeone who knows how hard it is
to put that work in, who knows.
The, the types of nerves that, you know, kind of runs through
your body as you sit there infront of thousands of people
trying to, you know, break intoa scene that you're new to, you
know, you got pro gamers leftand right, pro casters left and
right and cozy snap baby, breaking the mold going in
(02:44):
there, buddy.
I was so proud of you.
And honestly, you did aphenomenal job,
Cozy Snap (02:48):
dude.
Thank you, man.
It was I'd like these to the newaudience thing.
First of all, man, I love you.
You know, I love you.
But the Stroud was watching hispro team.
So he casted the whole thing.
So it was on his screen for liketwo hours and I had to go back
and see.
And the amount of people arelike, isn't that that Marvel
snap dude?
And I loved that.
I was like, yes, we havesnappers out there everywhere.
Closet snappers, as I like tocall them.
(03:10):
But thanks man.
Yeah, I really appreciate it.
It's definitely been Taxing onthe body to say the least just
trying to do a little bit ofeverything, you know, I think I
made a commitment a long timeago.
Family comes first both with mydecision making, but also my
time.
I can't That's why I don'tstream guys.
This secret's out.
You know, I would love it toomuch, and I would be away from
my family too much.
For me personally, that's forme.
And so, with being able to doall the content, like, I could
(03:33):
be an awful father and husband, and make sure all my channels
got, you know, content, or I canmake sure I put what, you know,
priority and family first.
And so, you know, superapologize for getting late on
the Snapchat here, guys.
You know, I can apologize, butat the same time, like, so a lot
of the comments, and we, some ofthem crossed the line a little
bit, guys, all right?
I, it sucks we even have to openthis way, but just want to let
(03:54):
you guys know, like, I loveSnap, I still love Snap, it's an
incredible game with a veryunique flavor that I don't think
will ever go away and also, like, my love for this
community, and everything tiedto it, but as a creator, and as
a father, and as a husband, youknow, we'll keep growing as
people, and that's going tonaturally happen.
So to hear and have words put inboth of our mouths at several
(04:16):
times, we and Alex, I think arevery pros at ignoring the noise.
I don't think we've ever caredabout that, but we've done two
and a half years of nevermissing, and that expectation is
pretty hard to follow up on.
I think the pressure has gottento us a lot of times at, at
certain areas and times, and Wedon't want that for us.
We're gonna keep on trying notto break that streak But if you
saw last episode, you know howmuch we love We're loving this
(04:40):
and loving each other and itListen, I love I love marvel
snap a lot I love alex 10 timesmore than that and you know,
this isn't going it's not goinganywhere and I appreciate the
passion.
We love that you care.
I'm going on a model on but welove that you guys care how much
that we put this out on time andnot missing it.
But at the same time, there'sdefinitely like a line that I
(05:00):
feel like was a tad crossed.
Alexander Coccia (05:03):
I feel like
you should never have to
apologize for your success.
You've done a tremendous amountof work for the snap community.
I remember watching your earlyvideos and thinking that this
guy's amazing.
Like look at all the, theediting and just the way you
handle yourself, the way youspeak, the way you can carry
entertainment.
It's incredible.
And somehow you've continued tomake that process better.
(05:25):
You've continued to make eachand every video better.
And it's only natural.
That you enter another spacelike Marvel Rivals and you, you
take off because at your heart, you're an incredibly talented
creator and incredibly motivatedcreator.
And guess what?
You're also extremely committedto the profession, to your
family, and of course, to theThe, the promises you make in
(05:49):
the Snapchat and everythingelse, and I know you're trying
your best and I hope thateveryone watching understands
that Cozy is trying his best.
I never want you to feel cozythat you're in a position where
you have to apologize for yoursuccess.
The fact that you're being, youknow, you're doing so well in
Rivals.
It, it, this is, this is a greatopportunity for you.
And I think that every Snapchatthat I get to do with you is not
(06:10):
only a ton of fun, but it's alsosomething that Like that last
episode, like I, I watched itback, like smiling ear to ear
and I hope we can continue doingthis, but also I want you to
know that at the same time, soproud of the success you have
found and I hope that ouraudience who has watched you
progress through over 124episodes of the Snapchat is
proud of you too.
Cozy Snap (06:30):
Well, it's official
guys.
I'm getting a tattoo on my chestsays I love Alex Kocher, big
Canadian fly the whole works.
Thank you, buddy.
You know, the love I have a foryou for, and I think, you know,
the love that I have for thisand, and not only Snapchat, but
just.
Trying to, trying to do, youknow as much as I can for each
and the, the what, you know, what it takes, I think there are
times I, you know, wish I hadmore time you know, certainly,
(06:54):
and without question, you know, this is easily the most fun I
have, like, this is so fun everyweek, like that, that's truly
what drives a lot of this andaltogether, man I, I appreciate
that, listen, I totally give youguys hate rivals.
No, no harm to like I obviouslyman a different strokes for
different folks as they alwayssay, right?
(07:16):
We're all bound to like our ownthing.
Never force you guys to watchthat content Please don't has it
affected the content hereslightly not even slightly.
Yes, it has and I'm sad about itbut it doesn't mean I'm not
gonna you know Try my damnhardest to keep on getting
videos out and I don't think itrepresents like current times
never represent current pictureRight.
So I could come back in twoweeks and do five deck guides.
(07:37):
It all depends on what'shappening in my life right now.
Personal life also extremelycrazy.
A lot of things I can't evenshare.
So that's what's been going onover here.
Hate to start this, you know, with a little bit of a cold open
rather than our usual warmththat we have here.
We're excited about to talkabout today and what it has to
bring, but we just saw as awhole some of the reception and.
Again, there's been times Alexhasn't been able to make it and
(07:59):
we barely made it happen, viceversa.
And we don't want that pressureon us, ever.
We plan on making it all thetime.
We've got two and a half years.
But if we don't, it's gonnainevitably happen.
And if it does, it's okay.
It's gonna be okay, guys.
But with that, it's gonna be aquicker episode today, but we're
gonna kinda give our firstimpressions.
Of fire hair and our thoughts onher obviously she came out
yesterday as of today'srecording and just kind of our
(08:21):
first thoughts Playing with theguard even though it's been a
busy week I've been able to getsome snapping and play with a
good amount of fire hair there.
Also ota Killed me.
I could not do my video on theota but obviously been able to
experience the ota and kind ofgive a recap review what But
y'all missed if you missed ityourself and or our thoughts on
that.
And then we're going to talkabout the future of the
Snapchat.
We put that bad boy first, Alex, what are we talking about on
(08:43):
your side?
Alexander Coccia (08:44):
Cozy.
We'll be talking about starbrand in review.
I know the card's already gone, but we'll be talking about star
brand.
Nonetheless, we'll be talkingabout whether or not season pass
cards are OP.
Let's just have a little frankconversation about the state of
season pass cards.
And then finally, as always, ourSnapchat mailbag
Cozy Snap (09:00):
fire here, obviously.
If we were to talk about her onMonday, we were both very
excited about the card.
We had high, you know, anticipations about her working,
you know, with misery anddestroy and everything under the
sun.
And I would say she performedeven, so even better than I
thought in the role that she wasgoing to play, but about evened
out where I thought she would beultimately, like as a card,
(09:23):
she's really good, but the decksshe's.
I still think we're even justscratching the surface.
Alexander Coccia (09:29):
You literally
knocked out of the park with
what you just said.
That's exactly how I felt aswell.
Basically the card hastremendous potential.
The fact that it can triggermultiple times on multiple
destroys and has like, it justmakes it insane.
Like quite frankly, it's insane.
However, the deck building hasto get figured out.
This feels like, do you knowwhat it feels like?
It feels like anti venom.
It feels like Ajax where likethe first couple attempts or the
(09:52):
first couple of weeks of deckbuilding are going to be sloppy.
And then some genius is going tofigure out a way to break fire
here.
And it's going to bring the metato its knees.
It feels like it has that typeof potential.
And it's also, I know we like,we love using this phrase, but
it's going to age like fine winebecause it synergizes with
destroy.
It synergizes with on reveal.
It synergizes with so manydifferent things.
I already came away impressedand to touch on what you were
(10:14):
saying, when I came into mytesting, I had like eight decks
ready.
Like I did not know where tostart.
I had eight decks ready and someof them were crap.
This is the way it works.
And a couple of them, I'm like,damn, I can't believe Firehair
just actually completely tippedthe scales for that game single
handedly.
So I was really impressed.
Cozy Snap (10:32):
Yeah, I had the
ultimate time playing with her
because I played her while I waswaiting in line for rides at
Disney, which was fantastic.
So I had a long time.
I would have like 40 minutespurts and I agreed like I would
open up, like I open up, I'mlike, okay, what deck First?
I'm like, oh gosh, there's justso many.
And I gotta tell you man, soDestroy obviously felt really
good.
Like there's just so much youcould do with Destroy and I
think how you just said agent, like fine wine, she's gonna do
(10:54):
even better.
Especially when we get those twocards we were talking about last
week that enabled like that Kid
Alexander Coccia (10:57):
Omega and
Elixir.
I think Synergize will destroy.
Yeah,
Cozy Snap (11:00):
those two are gonna
be crazy with it.
Like.
The, the combo making of likethree turns ahead is going to be
so nuts with Firehair.
Like she complicates the game ina great way so that was a lot of
fun.
I know like Thor and Billy RayBilly Ray, Billy Bob, Billy Ray
Cyrus, God I'm tired.
Beta Ray and Thor, it was nasty, like really good.
(11:23):
Misery clearly, like.
The, you know, the term miseryloves company, right?
Like clearly that was a asynergy.
I think Mill always is fun toplay and then you play it and
you're like, it hovers at like a51, 52, whatever percent, but
she obviously made it that muchbetter.
I know, I don't know if you sawthat Galactus clip with her.
That was nuts.
Like she has really coolinteractions and again, we're
(11:43):
only a day past her release.
And so that's what has me, hasme pumped, man.
Like this card has tremendousvalue in the future.
Alexander Coccia (11:51):
Where I played
her and I had the most success
with like, there was a bunch ofdifferent successful decks, but
the one that really stood out tome was I was playing this list.
It was a Shuri Nimrod.
Symbiote Spider Man deck withDestroyer, and what was awesome
was, if you think about theselines, right, you play Fire Hero
on turn two and then, like, youmight actually, not even turn
two, because I had a magic, so Ican do it later, but if I do,
(12:12):
like, a Wolverine turn two, thenI Deathlock the Wolverine, and
then I play Shurier, SymbioteSpider Man, Nimrod, and then on
turn then eventually you getFire Hero as well, so, yeah.
When you destroy the, the, like, whether it's Carnage or Deathlok
or whatever, whenever you Venomthat lane, Firehair is going to
reproc the destroy, and so theNimrods will split, and then
(12:35):
Firehair will split them again.
And then you can split it again, because you usually have a
combination of like, VenomCarnage, Venom Deathlok, to
close out the game on turn 7.
It was actually incredible, there was Nimrods everywhere.
Literally everywhere.
And so I had a lot of fun withthat particular deck.
And again, that's like the kindof shell that I don't think
people were really picking upfor fire hair and it made the
(12:56):
deck better.
And so it made me wonder oflike, where else are we not
thinking we're fire is going tobe successful.
Cozy Snap (13:02):
Yeah.
It could not be a better card tohave, even though we're doing
like kind of her, our firstimpressions, like the interview
on your side next week will beperfect because we'll have that
much more time to like, okay, this is truly what we think.
I mean, I could tell you, I feelpretty confident that if you
are.
If you have a good like tokeninflux right now and or like
want her I think she's gonna begood My fear of her is the
(13:24):
common fear of cars like thisShe's gonna get nerfed in some
capacity.
Like do I see a 2 2 in herfuture?
Probably probably right?
Like could that even go downlower who knows depends how
broken she is with other cardsthat come out This will be a
card though that she's sopowerful that they're gonna have
to think about when they'remaking new cards You know, like
how some cars have that mrNegative effect where like they
have to think about it in designShe's going to be a part of
(13:47):
that, especially with howprevalent on reveal is and
common on a destroyed XR.
Alexander Coccia (13:53):
So in my
testing, like we both came in at
like, well, I came in at five, you came in at 4.
5, then like drifted to fiveeventually.
And I can see it feeling thisweek, not like a five star card.
Cozy Snap (14:03):
Yeah.
Alexander Coccia (14:04):
But I, with
confidence feel like this could
potentially in the long run be afive star card because of the
potential, the ceiling isabsolutely insane.
And if you think about thespotlight cash week as well,
we're talking about rolling in aspotlight cash week with fire
hair, Cassandra Nova and NicoMinoru, like.
We talked about how there'slandmines and spotlight caches
and they're just not goodenough.
(14:25):
Like, this is the example oflike, I'll go three, four keys
and I'm feeling okay about it.
You know what I mean?
Like, it's a great week.
And fire here is going to be oneof those cards that like, you
will not be able to substitute.
Like this is such a combo pieceand such a unique effect.
Like there is no.
Substitute for something likefire hair and we're only on the
onset of the deck building withit.
So for me, like, I don't know,I'm looking forward to the final
(14:47):
review in just a couple of days,I guess, but like we'll have
more like perspective, but like, yeah, like I, I'm pretty
confident that this card isgoing to have a good spot in
Marvel snap.
Cozy Snap (14:57):
Absolutely, man.
Yeah.
So we'll find out more on Alex'sside on Monday and how we break.
You know the rest of her downand what she can do fire hair
fire hand I can't tell you howmany times I had to actually
think about What her real namewas because of you honestly
because of the snapchat episodewe had a few days ago But yeah,
it was fun.
It was this was like the bestpossible card to test in line I
(15:18):
did like this could not havebeen like if it was star brand I
would have been like, you knowWhat you're talking about, but
it's just like more like onesided, right?
whereas this was like what Iwant to do I can you know, I can
do anything but anyway, we'regonna move on we've got ota
Recap now.
This is one of the otas.
I feel like I like of courseI'll cover the ota where there's
like one change or somethingminimal and then this one we had
(15:39):
just A ton of stuff.
Like this OTA was just stackedwith with a bunch of changes to
relevant cards, man.
I mean, there's two that standout to me that we have to kind
of break out first.
I mean, should we just startwith Loki at this point?
I think Loki, I feel like isthe, is the, is the, is one of
the main ones to highlight here.
They addressed not only thingsthat were kind of towards the
(16:01):
the top of the meta, but thenthey also Hit on a bunch of
other cards, which alex hasalways cracks me up They kind of
mentioned how like this cardoesn't seem limelight in a
while.
We wanted to bring it Eventhough there's several cards
that can kind of be in that, that bucket, Loki going down to
a one, two bro, I saw this and Iimmediately just thought, Oh
God, this is going to be sointeresting into how many decks
(16:23):
does he truly fit in?
Alexander Coccia (16:25):
I like this
change.
I haven't actually had a chanceto play much Loki just because
fire hair and some others havebeen, and I really wanted star
brand at work.
And so I, I focused a lot ofenergy on the new cards and not
necessarily on some of the OTAones.
I had a couple thoughts.
First of all, Loki, I think thatthe changes to Loki made me a
little sad because the, theoriginal design while
(16:46):
overpowered, I think wastremendously fun, especially
when you consider having like, Ihad like this God split on Loki.
And so watching my whole handturn into this beautiful gold
ink split, which is awesome.
There was elements to it that Imissed.
Moving it to a one cost, Ithink, makes a lot of sense.
And obviously, this card hasseen so many different changes.
You know, one to dodge itsoutright insane power at the
(17:06):
start.
And then you had one to dodgethe Ereshim.
And then one to dodge, no, oneto dodge Collector, one to dodge
Ereshim.
And then it's like all thesedifferent changes.
And then I had this thought.
Can you imagine if this 1 2 Lokiexisted with Chavez?
The original Chavez, thatthinned the deck and also turned
itself into one of the cardsthat you can draw.
Like, absolutely insane.
(17:27):
Obviously you wouldn't havedrawn it, you would have drawn
it on six anyway, because itwould have been something else.
But like the one thing aboutLoki is you want him on turn one
now.
Just like you want Zabo on turnone.
I, I'm, I'm actually kind ofhappy about this change.
At least it puts Loki back intothe lane of being a legitimate
archetype again.
Cozy Snap (17:42):
Absolutely.
With that too, we had when I saysmaller, not so much, but, you
know, quick conversation.
Hell hell cow.
And Swordmaster all hit to kindof tame the Hela archetype,
which made sense.
I mean, they did such a boldchange with the scar.
Like it ended up helping Helamore than I think they intended.
And they wanted to bring thatdown.
And Hela is just one of those.
Archetypes that people just theyjust they just don't like if
(18:04):
it's if it's too good
Alexander Coccia (18:07):
Yeah, I mean
hella as a whole I think part of
the issue is like the lack ofinteractivity with it Yeah, and
the new version of hella thoughlike if you think about like the
beta hella beta hella was Youplay invisible woman you modoc
and then you just play hellabehind invisible woman You know
what?
I mean?
Like that's basically what theplan was But now, like, there's
so much consistent power, like, you're, you're, like, even
Swordmaster got buffed, like,Swordmaster was not always a 3
(18:29):
7, like, it was a 3 6, it gotbuffed to a 3 7, so you're
playing Swordmaster, you'replaying Haukau, you're playing
all these kind of chonky cards, and they're consistently hitting
things you need, and Hela'snever getting discarded, and so
there's this lack ofinteractivity for your opponent,
And you're throwing down atremendous amount of power that
they can't anticipate where thepower is going to go.
Yeah, like, it's just, it's justa little too much.
(18:51):
And even if you're runningsomething at Alioth, like,
because they have no cards onthe board, you can't clog them.
So you can't really guess.
It's just a 33%, 33.
33, repeating, of course, chanceto guess Hela.
Yeah.
Like it's just, it's anuninteractive card,
unfortunately.
And I think it frustratespeople.
Cozy Snap (19:06):
The greatly Roy
Jenkins as Alex loves to quote
here on, on the Snapchat, how wefeel about mama Mia, black cat
going.
I feel like she lost a lot ofher identity.
Like I get that black cats beenin the game so long at this
point.
Right.
So she kind of, she kind ofbring in Alex has just this,
this,
Alexander Coccia (19:21):
what do you
like?
You're just the monetizing yourown channel.
He's just smiling.
Cozy Snap (19:25):
He's just smiling.
Are they?
He's like.
Yeah.
Hey,
Alexander Coccia (19:28):
listen, now I
got to just, just keep eye
contact with cozy, just her
Cozy Snap (19:32):
identity a little
bit.
I felt like with this, like wealready have interesting discard
stuff with like two, six withother good value stats.
And you know, I think theymeasured, they try to bring it
down to a three before thatdidn't work.
So they brought her down to atwo.
It's fine, like, I mean, there'scool things you can do with it
now, but I almost, like, I likedwhere she was at.
I wish they would have testedthe other stuff first, and then
(19:53):
came back to this, potentially.
Alexander Coccia (19:55):
You know what
it was?
It was just that, at, like, whatever, 10, 9 power, what's
the power she was at?
I can't remember.
She was changed so many times.
Yeah.
She was just so much extra powerfor Hela.
Like, it was just a free Helacard.
Yeah.
That you didn't even have to doanything, you didn't have to
risk discarding Hela, nothing.
And I think their idea here isnot only are you taking power
off the top, but, like, is therea world?
Where you're playing like asurge deck or something where
(20:17):
you're just playing top decksnonstop and you top deck block
cat You know, I mean and they'relike, yeah, I can play this You
know, I mean, I guess this is acar that you actually run the
risk of trying to play likereally it only dies In your
opening hand.
Cozy Snap (20:30):
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, it's definitely fair.
I mean, I think The value makessense.
Obviously, it's there.
I I just I don't know.
I felt like what it did fordiscard was Kind of unique and
now it's still unique, but it'sjust it's less of so I guess
like the there's times likebecause she's only two It's so
much easier to be able to playher for just good stuff.
(20:50):
Which is a 410, right?
so that I mean obviously, yeah, you're right that was just
stupid stats, but 2 6.
Yeah, if you get the lock andthen great outside of the
opening hand Yeah, anyway, Ithink this card though.
They have a lot of plans withthis card still We have more
cards coming out to help it AndI mean, heck, you got, you know,
Ghost Rider coming out.
He's gonna bring whatever.
(21:11):
Obviously, we have Khonshu andwho knows what that brings.
So maybe they're looking ahead alittle bit here.
So we have those changes.
We also had, and I know, thisone, there's a couple puzzling
things.
First, let's, before we talkabout Doom, let's talk about the
shield for Captain America.
I think it's funny, we broughtup his interaction with Cole
before he was even out.
Like, man, I think I was like, hey, I think this is going to be
(21:34):
cool.
Alexander Coccia (21:34):
Actually,
yeah, I remember it blew my
mind.
I was like, oh yeah, like that'scrazy.
Cause I think I literally wasblown away on the Snapchat when
you brought it up.
I hadn't thought of it at thetime.
Cozy Snap (21:43):
So I, I was puzzled.
Cause I'm like, well, if Ithought about that without even
playing the card, like I wouldhave, I would have wished that
was something they thought aboutwithout like.
Letting that happen for a whileand then taking that out because
there's such a cool interestinginteraction that made cool I
mean I get I get The philosophybehind it, but it doesn't make
me like it
Alexander Coccia (22:00):
I get it like
they were listening to the chat
snapchat You said what if youplay culp city with it and
glenn's like?
Shut
Cozy Snap (22:08):
at his home.
At his home having like hismorning coffee like no.
Alexander Coccia (22:11):
Yeah, never
thought of that.
Yeah, no, you're absolutelyright.
And I mean, the change probablyhad to happen.
It's a little unfortunate'causeCulp City was just free real
estate.
He was suffering.
So to play a TMA with him.
Cozy Snap (22:23):
I'm glad they didn't
change Cole at least like I'd
rather the change here.
Yeah.
And then like make him like afour nine or whatever, just like
ruin that deck even more.
So what he does, but and then dobro, do what, when he came out,
we looked back, we're like, ah,I think he's gonna be a pretty
good car.
Definitely a fun car.
And now he has been like Ubernerfed.
Your boy gave him five stars.
Yeah.
I was, I was, I was headedthere.
I was heading that direction ofAlex's like, was the OG super
(22:45):
doom lover over here.
And my gosh, like two points ina row on the, on the doom bots,
man.
Alexander Coccia (22:53):
What was
interesting about this change?
And obviously untapped is likea, it's, it's a snapshot at
potential accurate information.
Right.
It was running like a 5 percentplay rate.
Despite still having a good winrate, but they basically said it
was the de facto best 4 drop inthe game.
And so they went after it again, despite the fact that, honestly,
I played a lot of Snap.
That was even, I think that wasthe Twitch Drops week.
I was playing so much Snap, Iwasn't playing against Doom
(23:14):
bots, man.
People weren't playing Doom and, like, the Decent Infinite.
Like, I wasn't seeing it.
And so, the nerf honestlysurprised me.
I was like, oh, okay.
This has happened before.
Remember when they nerfedDarkhawk?
Yeah, that's what it reminded meof, dude.
Cozy Snap (23:28):
The Darkhawk change,
this is the exact same thing.
I was like, hmm.
I wasn't seeing that, but Iguess it's metrically good on
their side.
Like, you know, it's doingbetter than they thought it is
sad though, to see what he wantswas like, this is.
Because of the snowball effectof what he can do.
Alexander Coccia (23:42):
Yeah I think
now you have to lean more into
the ongoing like now it's moreit feels like in my early
testing again I haven't played aton of doom 2099 because of the
new cards has been coming outBut like it feels more like huh?
I really have to hit these withspectrum now, you know, I mean,
I don't know That's just yeah, that's just my take on that
Cozy Snap (24:00):
for sure man.
Thanos, you know, they talkedabout they had big plans for the
stones It doesn't seem like thatDoesn't seem like they worked
out what those are going to beever.
Maybe those turn into automotivecars.
I don't know but you know thathas got himself a little bit of
love here And I think I think itworks dude was thanos a sick
wasn't he an eight power cardwhen he came out?
(24:21):
Was he 8 was ever 8 power.
I think he was the first 7,
Alexander Coccia (24:24):
wasn't he?
Cozy Snap (24:25):
He was 6, 8, no
power.
Yeah, he was like a 6, 8.
Oh, I was
Alexander Coccia (24:30):
thinking
Cozy Snap (24:30):
cost.
Alexander Coccia (24:31):
Yeah, no,
power wise, I think he was a I
think he was 9 and they buffedhim to 6, 10.
Cozy Snap (24:37):
Maybe he was 9, maybe
he was 9.
All I know is I was thinkingabout him and then I was
thinking about like Agamotto andsome of these, you name it bro,
Surtur and I'm like, oh my god,the Mad Titan like the essence
of power.
Was so bad on release powerwise.
And now we've gotten them up issix 12 and his stones are great.
Thanos, we have seen time overtime.
It's just the card that theywant to like cycle in and out.
Of relevance, and sometimes itdoesn't work.
Alexander Coccia (24:59):
Let's be
honest, so the, whatever drawing
board they did, like whiteboardwork they did on the new Thanos
stones, turned into InfinityAltron and Agamotto.
Those are literally stones.
Right?
Like, they took those andthey're like, Oh, what about
like OG Thanos?
Like, well, if we Turn it into anew card, like Agamotto.
We can sell more season passes.
(25:19):
So maybe we'll do that.
And we'll give that was supposedto be, and they're like, Oh, the
space stone sucks to play.
I'm like, bro, the whole thingsucks to play.
Like,
Cozy Snap (25:28):
dude, that actually,
that's such a good leeway.
Whenever we get to your subject.
But before on that is like, Ifeel like they're in the design
room at times.
And they're like, what if thiscar did this?
And you know, the guy in thesuits in the back is like, you
know what that sounds like?
That sounds like a Februaryseason pass cards.
But like anything that's supercooks, they're like, write that
down.
That's how that's a season passcard.
(25:50):
But yeah, that, that, that, thatdefinitely that is I maybe that
maybe, maybe they bring the newdesign that was Christmas.
Yeah, I was around then.
Alexander Coccia (25:58):
I don't
remember man, but like I gotta
tell you, I love Thanos and Ihope that Thanos is like legit
at least playable becauselisten, anybody that's burning
on, on snap, it's cause you'reprobably playing the same damn
thing all the time.
Like playing Thanos feelstotally different than playing
regular snap.
It gets a very differentexperience.
Actually, I was testing a Thanosdeath deck.
It was kind of cool.
(26:18):
My hand was fully in time.
I had a token double dinosaur inthere for no reason.
My hand was always stacked.
Cozy Snap (26:23):
There are times where
whenever I am too busy to, to be
able to get deck guys out.
And this is a product for my owndesign of like man I wish I
would have not gone withoverproduction on half my videos
because sometimes I could havejust spit out a deck idea But
i'm like, oh this would be socool And it always begins with
like thanos destroy and liketrying to do something with the
killmonger and the chaos of itall And now with with our new
(26:46):
fire hair over here,
Alexander Coccia (26:47):
I'm joined
today, as I always am, by the
man who's dressed like aHawaiian surfer.
I, I just, I don't even know.
Is that, is that a surfer shirt?
What is that?
It's like sweater?
I don't even know what you'redressed like.
When I get
Cozy Snap (26:59):
stopped and people
ask about it, I like to say that
I'm one of those guys that helpland the airplanes.
You know?
I do this, but I'm the, I'm thecone.
Like I'm the stick that theywave.
You're the stick that they wave?
To land the plane.
Alexander Coccia (27:12):
Aren't they
just red?
Just red sticks?
This
Cozy Snap (27:15):
would do a much
better job of landing the plane.
All right.
That, that, that, that's all Iknow.
This is dude, this has been a,I've had, this thing is like
it's almost dying and I can'tuse it.
You want to know the catch?
All my content lately has beengreen screen and this, you
cannot wear this thing.
I would, I'm like see throughbro, completely.
So I'm like, you know what?
In the most like metal hard lookat this like art in the middle
(27:37):
and I'm wearing this it'sfantastic
Alexander Coccia (27:39):
It actually
reminded I think it was Dexter
that said did he say that wewere we were somewhere, right?
And it's so funny cuz like wewere we wrote and someone
recognized you like hey cozy andlike they were like talking to
you They were so excited to meetyou.
I was like in there a snapchatfan I was standing right beside
you, but they didn't even noticeI was there to be and in
Dexter's like ice peacocking
Cozy Snap (27:58):
Peacock.
Yeah, that's what that's thegoal.
I, I, I, I tried to peacock inmy life.
I didn't even know what thatmeant.
I think until he said, I think Iheard it in a movie or
something.
It's like,
Alexander Coccia (28:06):
yeah, I'm
pretty sure.
Yeah.
It's, it's about the, of thefact it's like, I was dressed
like this and then you'rewearing like, I think you were
wearing that green, the, the Theteal jacket that you always have
with the wolf
Cozy Snap (28:16):
on it.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You look like a Greek god, mightI say, right now.
I look like a Greek god?
You look great.
You do.
Which
Alexander Coccia (28:23):
one?
The one that just drinks untilhe's blocking
Cozy Snap (28:25):
out?
Yeah, there's the wine god.
Bear or something.
B something.
Well, I should know this from myanyway.
What, I do have to tell yousomething.
I was in a, I was in a Costcothis week.
I hate your, I hate your effecton me.
Like, I It's like, like, whenyou go to church, you think
about God.
I go to Costco, I think aboutAlex.
And I, I, it, you, I can'tescape you.
I can't, I, and, and, can I tellyou what else I hate, bro?
(28:48):
Is I hate that you're rightabout it.
Like, I'm around, I'm gettingthe samples.
Like, I had some, what the hell, the corned beef sample.
I don't eat corned beef a lot.
I was like, this is fantastic.
This whole place is great.
Look at the deal.
I don't even need that.
And I'm going to buy that.
That's what I think they do.
Well, and it's all good tastingtoo.
I hate you.
Alexander Coccia (29:08):
I'm sorry,
dude.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
Costco's fantastic.
And I was actually, sometimes Iwonder, I'm like, yo, if I were
to start just loading buggieswith toilet paper, could I start
the toilet paper run?
Like right here, right now inCanada, where someone like takes
it.
TikTok of me loading carts worthof toilet paper and it just kind
of moves through the, it goesviral and then all of a sudden
(29:28):
everyone's hoarding toilet paperagain, no one knows why, they're
like, tariffs, you gotta get thetoilet paper, they're gonna
tariff the toilet paper, andthen it's like, I don't know
man, I just, I had that thought,I was in Costco staring at the
pile of toilet paper, I'm like, could I do this right now?
Could I do it
Cozy Snap (29:42):
every time I look at
their clothes section?
I'm like alex would wear that.
Oh, look at that Another alexoriginal right there
Alexander Coccia (29:49):
Wait, what do
you think?
I got this shirt, right?
Definitely cost like 16
Cozy Snap (29:53):
Definitely has the
gosco the gosco look to it.
Yeah, it's great.
You are I know I It's a shamethey've never sponsored you.
It would be a very big waste oftheir sponsorship money.
I don't know if card gaming andCostco really inter You know,
well, a little bit.
Physical card products.
Physical card products.
Dude,
Alexander Coccia (30:08):
they have
Magic the Gathering commander
decks right now.
I actually took a picture ofthem.
The new ones?
I thought about it.
I'm like, man, should I tweetout, like, because I wasn't sure
which Four different commanderdecks.
It's the outlaw junction onesand they have like four
different ones.
And I was like, Oh, I kind ofonly want to buy one or two.
Like which one should I buy?
And I was going to throw it outthere.
I mean, actually, if you'relistening to this and you want
to give me your opinion, let meknow in the comments.
Cozy Snap (30:30):
There's a new Spider
Man one coming out later this
year.
They're doing a I don't know ifit's secret layer, but they're
doing a new magic crossover withSpider Man.
It's going to be sick.
And the magic ones that theyhave with the, with Marvel
already is impeccable.
And there's some of the beststorms, like the single best
commander right now.
Alexander Coccia (30:44):
That's
unbelievable.
Yeah, I gotta figure, I gottafigure it out.
Like, I've just been, I bought awhole bunch of the Fallout ones.
I showed you the Dogme one.
I was hunting for the Dogme oneforever.
Cozy Snap (30:51):
We should do a
Commander with like me, you, and
Dexter.
Cause, you know, Commander issuch a social game, right?
So like, it would be so fun tohave like the four of us who
don't play that often, right?
But when we played all together,it would be so I feel like me
and you would win because ofjust, cause Because like we I'm
not attacking you.
We're just winners, baby.
Yeah, but I'm like, I'm notgonna attack your face You know
(31:13):
what?
I mean?
I'm like, I I love you You know,I can't dexter has an attackable
face, but I can't attack you.
Alexander Coccia (31:20):
You can't
Cozy Snap (31:20):
attack dexter
Alexander Coccia (31:21):
He's too
Cozy Snap (31:21):
cute.
Who else would be in there?
Who'd be our fourth bin?
It.
Get bro on bro.
Get bro on.
You gonna make this
Alexander Coccia (31:27):
happen.
Do you commander with, oh dude,Glen.
I texted him yesterday.
Obviously
Cozy Snap (31:30):
Glen would be great.
I
Alexander Coccia (31:31):
texted Ben and
Glen.
Glen would destroy us though.
Like he
Cozy Snap (31:34):
actually played a ton
of magic.
Glenn, Glen would, B, he mademagic.
We can't play.
Yeah, we can't.
We can't play.
He's like an advisor to half thestuff they make.
Yeah.
I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna getGlen.
I texted Ben the other day andhe was in the middle of Jerry
duty.
And he responded to you?
Yeah.
Well, later, that's the pool youhave.
It was a little later, it waslike an hour.
He was like, Hey bro, mid juryduty, what's up?
And I was like, no big deal.
(31:54):
I need you to do this.
And I was gonna ask him to do awhole bit.
And, and he is He's like, I'mnot near anything.
I'm like, just film me where youare right now.
And he is.
Cameras are illegal, screw it.
But yeah, we would have been asour, as our fourth.
What are we talking about today?
What do we, what are we doingagain today over here?
What is this?
Are we filming?
Alexander Coccia (32:11):
I don't know,
but if you want to know the
difference between cozy snap andAlexander Kocha, it's that if I
were to text Ben Brode, hisresponse would have been, who's
this?
Cozy Snap (32:19):
I think you're
selling yourself short.
Alex Kocha, you are.
You're a famous man.
Alexander Coccia (32:24):
You know what,
I'm only famous because I get to
spend my podcasting days withthe peacock himself.
What can I say?
But you know what, we're talkingabout big and bad and great
stuff.
You know, okay, Costco's big, weknow that.
But it's great.
You know what's big and bad?
Like actually kind of bad?
Starbrand.
And it's actually really sad.
Starbrand is incrediblydisappointing, guys.
I have bad news.
(32:46):
Cozy and I came in at 4 stars.
Cozy, it's not looking likeStarbrand's gonna be hitting 4
star territory.
I got some really, really badnews from a win rate
perspective.
46 percent Cube rate negative 317 percent popularity The Saron
deck that you would haveexpected to play him in running
a 48 percent win rate.
This card is a 310 just pile ofpoo.
(33:08):
And it's so unfortunate, but youknow what, I don't think it's
Starbrand's fault.
I think the Sauron archetypeneeds more than just Starbrand.
Cozy Snap (33:14):
Yeah, there's too
much going on with other decks,
too many things.
Just look at Firehair, man.
Firehair giving you a hood, youget ten demons, you get two Iron
Patriot cards back, and you youwin, right?
With this, you're like, I hopemy big stat wins, and it just
And it comes with this, like, 10cons, right?
Yeah, it's a bummer.
I think I mean, it really showsyou where we are in Snap, you
know, and I think there aretimes in metas where, like, big
(33:36):
stat stick is good, and itworks, and there's times where
it's, like, more combo centricor different He just doesn't do
enough of what he's throwinginto the table.
Alexander Coccia (33:46):
I'm gonna call
it right now.
Cause I think that if you'regonna try and fix Sauron and
make it a playable archetype,Sauron turns into a 2 2.
You heard it here first.
Sauron gets changed to a 2 2,and then you could play,
basically, Like, Sauron on 2,Starbrand on 3, Typhoid on 4,
and there's an actual curve, andat least the deck has some
semblance of being competitive.
Cozy Snap (34:05):
I'm glad you
mentioned that, because it is,
it's less of like, the cardsthat are supporting it, because
they're good, and they work, andyou have Lizard, and you have
him, you have Typhoid, you haveRed Skull.
It's just like the or the orderof the flow and like Soran and
like what do you do?
It's just awkward.
There's no like good curve playto it.
It's almost like Black Swan attimes where it's like it does
great thing But when do you playit with other things that you
(34:28):
need to also do?
Alexander Coccia (34:30):
Yeah It's like
well Black Swan the whole
problem with Black Swan is likehow many hoops do I got to jump
through to get value out of thiscard?
Right.
And part of the problem withStarbrand and Sauron was that
they occupy the same turn andyou, you have to play Sauron
first.
And so Starbrand turns into aturn six play under most
circumstances, which alsorequires you to play Zabu on
turn one so that you can TyphoidMarion Starbrand.
(34:52):
Like, yeah, that's how you getthat 48 percent win.
The 40 percent of the, 48percent of the time, it's
because you drew Zabu on one andthen you're able to play Sauron
into Starbrand Typhoid.
And the line, the line had to betoo specific.
And ultimately like it justwasn't enough man.
It wasn't enough and then allthe other shells He was actually
working in serger from mytesting and in serger.
(35:12):
He has a higher win rate, butit's still not great But it's
just because serger carried, youknow what I mean?
It's not because of star brandstar brand probably brought the
win rate down for that deck
Cozy Snap (35:22):
Yeah, just other ways
to get it done.
There's just other ways to getit done I mean again what I just
said with the whole hood andmisery and fire hair like how
many demons you're getting atthat point That could just
There's just easier ways to getthe stat sticks these days and
more creative like ultimate decksynergy and even more
importantly is The stat stickdecks are very straightforward.
So there's not a lot of liketrojan horse going on, you know
(35:44):
what I mean?
They know what you're doing.
They know what's happening.
And so like with something likeagain, I would just bring up
fire hair But with that, it'slike, what is it going to do?
Even the Nimrod deck youmentioned, right?
It's like, it's so hard tocalculate everything going on.
And like, what, how much poweris going to be?
It's like, it's pretty, there'sonly five outcomes from, you
know, a Sauron deck, let's say,or Surtur, you can kind of do
the math.
That's where I feel like it itlacks a bit and yeah It it's
(36:07):
just a card you can wait on atthe end of the day And if Soran
gets a boost then great
Alexander Coccia (36:14):
Yeah and I
mean at the end of the day like
I came away disappointed becauseI this was one of the cards I
was most Excited for because Iactually like the Sauron
archetype, but it's notnecessarily Sorbran's fault.
That whole archetypes is notgood enough It's your
Cozy Snap (36:26):
highest rated, but
this was your favorite of the
month.
I remember you saying this wasyour favorite Like most excited
card of this month before.
Yeah.
And it disappointed me and letme down
Alexander Coccia (36:33):
cozy.
Yeah.
Big
Cozy Snap (36:34):
expectation, big
disappointment.
Alexander Coccia (36:36):
But you know
what?
Almost never lets us down isspending 10 American on a season
pass card.
I thought you could say that wasone of the best transitions in a
while.
Cozy.
Usually you roast me for mysegues.
I always admit that that was agood one.
I was
Cozy Snap (36:48):
going to get, it was,
I was going to say Rick roll,
you know, you're never going to,I'm never going to give you up.
Never going to let you never letyou down.
Never going to turn.
Okay.
Yes, that was a good transition.
And with that.
And I killed it a little bit,but I had to say the word.
Anywho, our season pass card'sOP, Alex.
Alexander Coccia (37:03):
You know what?
They're, so this, this wholeconversation kind of stemmed
from there was a, a Redditthread, right?
Every once in a while I stumbleon the Reddit.
I don't know why I do it either,but I
Cozy Snap (37:13):
did.
And someone
Alexander Coccia (37:14):
said that this
is what they always do.
They release an OP season passcard and they nerf it once
they're free to free to playPlebs, get their hands on it.
That's their words, not mine.
And then Realistically, I waslike, you know what?
I don't know if that's actuallytrue.
We have seen some very highlyimpactful season pass cards.
And we do know that Second Interhas mentioned in the past that
(37:34):
they want the season pass cardto be meta relevant.
And that they almost want theseason to be, not necessarily
revolving around that card, butit to have a major impact.
And I think one of the premierexamples of this was the Loki
season, where Loki was obviouslyoverpowered.
And they never wanted to nerfLoki.
They nerfed everything aroundhim.
(37:55):
Collector got hit, everythingelse got hit.
But Loki seemed to have thisplot armor because he was a
season pass card.
So, I just want to go through acouple things here, okay?
March 2024, we had Hope Summers, which never got changed.
We had Baron Zemo in April 2024,never got changed.
We had Blink, May 2024.
(38:17):
Never got changed.
June was Gilgamesh, that had toget buffed.
Gwenpool was July, no changes.
Kate Bishop with no changes inAugust.
So already you have a big stringof cards that realistically have
all been pretty decent, have allfound their places in the meta,
but not necessarily gamebreaking, despite the fact that
they kind of carry their ownthere.
You had the symbiote Spider Manfor September 2024, which had to
(38:40):
get buffed.
Then you had Agent Venom, whichhad to get nerfed.
Agent Venom was the first one,but now listen to this, listen
to this run.
Agent Venom, Surtur, Galacta,Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson,
Agamotto.
So like, I'm going through thislist and I'm thinking to myself,
Okay, nah, it's not all thatbad.
And then all of a sudden it'slike, Whoa, these last five
months, what are we doing?
So I actually, Cozy, I'm hittingyou with the hook here.
(39:01):
I'm flip flopping on my originalplay here.
I was like, Oh, you know, it'snot that bad.
Cozy, it might actually just bebad.
Cozy Snap (39:06):
You know, here's the
thing though.
I think, I think at the end ofthe day, it's not rocket
science.
It's not that they plan thisaround how the game's doing as a
whole, but like I think thatcards that are super fun and
inter like, There was a slump, whether whatever you want to
say, there was a slump and snapat one point, especially towards
the end of the year, start ofthe year, and I think that
(39:27):
Honestly, given to a lot of thecreativeness of some of these
season pass cards, it's kind ofincreased that a little bit.
But yes, I think overall, they've always been a bit too
good.
I mean, like, you can look at itoutside of I mean, going back to
Zabu and Silver Surfer andHitmonkey, like, these are ones
that are bang, bang, bang, theyall had to adjust.
It's high high evolutionary.
Another card that they had toadjust.
And you had Ghost Spider.
(39:47):
Obviously not, you know, anywhere near there.
Then you had Phoenix Force thatgot boosted right after that.
These are just off the top ofthe head, right?
And then it was like Daken, Ibelieve.
I don't know why I know some ofthis stuff.
This could be out of order abit, but It's crazy, yeah.
Regardless, because it goesDaken, Loki something Miss
Marvel.
What was October?
I forgot.
Oh Elsa.
So like, it also got massivelynerfed, right?
(40:08):
There's, there's been way moregood overpowered Season Pass
cards than there have been bad.
Like, a tremendous amount.
And it's like a dance that theydo, almost.
But we have been on a bit of aheater.
That's for sure.
Alexander Coccia (40:21):
Do you think
Agamotto is continuing the
trend?
Cause some people seem to thinkhe's not that bad.
I think, I don't wanna, no, Idon't wanna I think Agamotto's
great.
I
Cozy Snap (40:28):
think he's
Alexander Coccia (40:29):
very
interesting.
I don't wanna kind of disruptyour, your thought process here.
Like what do you think Agamottois right now?
Like if you were to give him astar rating based on your
opinion right now.
Like what would you give him apreliminary?
I
Cozy Snap (40:37):
don't, I don't know.
I can tell you that I'd give hima 5 star of uniqueness, fun, and
like entertainment value.
And that's what matters.
Alexander Coccia (40:44):
You like, you
like getting Wind of Wutum hit
every single time for a slide tothe right for me.
No, no, but others
Cozy Snap (40:49):
do, but others do.
Like, yeah, that Gared'sobviously busted.
I mean, but like, more of like,he's so interesting in what he
does.
He's like a high evolutionary.
He's like an Aresham.
And so like, that was going tosell it regardless.
Alexander Coccia (41:01):
Yeah, I guess
that's fair.
It's worth noting as well thatwe focus in on the season pass
cards.
But we've just had a lot of metashakers coming out lately.
Like, It seems as though, forthe most part, most of the
spotlight caches are actuallyreally good.
Like, in the Symbiote Spider Manseason it's easy to forget that,
like, that was Silver SableMadame Web.
Like, think about, remember theMadame Web season?
(41:23):
Like, MOVE people were rejoicingat the potential of what those
spotlight caches had.
In the Kate Bishop season, youhad Wiccan and Speed, right?
And then, in Agent Venom, Imean, the standout there is
gonna be Scream.
Like, Scream created a wholearchetype, and so, while the
season pass cards have beengood, I think that we've had
(41:44):
many good caches as well.
Is it just general power creep?
So,
Cozy Snap (41:51):
AgentVidim's tough
because, like, he was
ridiculously broken.
They had to tune himimmediately, right?
But like another thing about itthough is that everyone swarms
to it's all like the brilliantminds and snap everyone swarms
at the season Pass cards tocreate the most unique decks and
to create the most, you knowwhat I mean?
But yeah power creeps justhappening regardless like that's
something that every game runsinto at some point in time or
another It's, and the OTAsalways have that, like, vow
(42:15):
release of, of that.
Do I think they're too, I mean,we've had this discussion here
before, do we think cards shouldrelease bad or good?
I'm always towards the worseside, you're towards the good
side, I think, and we've had ourdiscussions and reasons on why.
I think the reason I'm always, Iwould rather a card be a little
less good when it comes out isbecause people are gonna be
hesitant to get it, and then itgets better over time.
It's a lose lose either waybecause if it comes out bad and
(42:37):
it gets buffed like GilgameshIt's like they weren't selling
enough.
They they made it better And ifit was too good and it was bad,
then you didn't get what youbought So it's it's like either
way they lose but I do thinkthat season pass cards will
always be a little bit Moreinteresting and or better most
of the time
Alexander Coccia (42:57):
cozy.
I'm gonna hit you with thequestion that like this is this
is the hard one This is like thethe setup.
Okay cozy.
Do you think that there's anyconsideration for?
power of the season pass cardversus potential revenue
generation
Cozy Snap (43:13):
Did I answer that?
Yeah, like definitely
Alexander Coccia (43:15):
okay, so you
think that like they sit there
you kind of joked about itearlier, but Is there an
opportunity for them to say,Hey, we think that this card is
more interesting and we'll sellmore as opposed to like, if
they're going to release fivecards, do they say this one's
the most interesting that I'llsell the most, the rest are
caches.
Is that how you think theyfigure it out?
Or do you think it's more aboutthe meta shakeup?
Cozy Snap (43:37):
It's theming and, or
yeah, for sure.
I mean, what I just said was,and it's always the, it's not
always the best, but it's,what's the most unique and
interesting, right.
And that's.
Literally, outside of like,Ghost Spider, which again, they
probably thought that was gonnashake it up a lot, like, the
move stuff, maybe, at the time.
Cause like, Phoenix Force wasnot even close to the best card.
Legion was.
He was an S4 card, right?
So sometimes they get it wrong, per se.
(43:58):
I think they try their best toget it right.
But then if you look at PhoenixForce, it brought the most
unique thing to it.
It created its own archetype.
So, they're always gonna sellthat.
Always.
It's the most interesting, unique, and or powerful thing,
Alexander Coccia (44:12):
usually.
Okay, that's absolutely fair.
And for the record, I know I wasthrowing you on the spot, I
agree with you.
I think it's definitely aconsideration that they have.
And I don't know if that's agood or bad thing.
Like, I don't know.
Like, they're in Listen, theonly reason why Marvel Snap has
its lights on right now isbecause they sell season passes,
and they sell variants, andtheir business makes sense,
right?
But at the same time, it's likeI just hope that they also sit
(44:34):
down and say, Hey, how do wemake cards more accessible?
And obviously the free modeshave been doing the gameplay
modes have been very kind ofresourceful in that sense.
Cozy Snap (44:41):
It's going to get
worse, but this is what I mean
by that and hear me out.
I'm assuming whatever they dofor new acquisition for cards is
going to make it a way better toget cards.
But season pass cards alwayshave the limit of being a season
pass card.
So if cards get easier to easierto get season pass cards in
theory down the line will likeafter the month it's been out.
But on the arrival month, it'llbe harder to get.
Or stay the same, right?
(45:02):
So like, if you make, I don'tknow what they're doing.
But if you make tokens, whateverit might be.
More, whatever it is.
That's gonna be kind of a stopgate there a little bit, right?
But it makes sense because youhave It does make sense, but
what I'll say is like, You getall the other stuff with the
season pass card, right?
So you're paying, what, 9.
99 at the U.
S.
To get all the resources to setyou up for the month.
(45:24):
Plus the card itself, but ifthey make card acquisition 10 X
better, it's only going to makeseason pass cards feel 10 X
worse for those that don't getit.
Alexander Coccia (45:34):
I hear what
you're saying, right?
Cause it feels like such animmense value right now.
Although you do have to spendyour 10, I'm like, try to buy
any other card.
10 is an absolute bargaincompared to like buying the
tokens or whatever, or thehundred dollar bundle for the
variant to confer a card youdon't have, or.
God forbid you spend money onthe 4U bundles or you can buy
(45:55):
Mystique for 600.
Right?
It's like, you know what I mean?
It's like, I see those tweetsevery once in a while, my buddy.
Like what is going on?
Who programmed these 4U bundles?
Cozy Snap (46:04):
Yeah, bro.
Right.
I know.
I know.
I got one the other day, bro.
I was like, what the hell am Ilooking at?
I got a 4U bundle the other day.
It was like.
99 bucks for like a dinosaur andsomething else.
I don't even know what it was.
It was like, get out of here.
Instead
Alexander Coccia (46:15):
of for you,
they should just put F you.
Yeah.
And then I'd probably buy
Cozy Snap (46:19):
it.
F you, I'd be like, well, Irespect the honesty.
I'll buy it.
Alexander Coccia (46:22):
F you.
Here's Mystique for a hundreddollars.
You know what I mean?
Oh, fair.
Cozy Snap (46:25):
Yeah.
Alexander Coccia (46:26):
I do kind of
suck.
Yeah, it sounds about right.
Yeah.
And I guess the final questionI'll ask on this topic here is
So we, we definitely know thatthey're coming out stronger.
What do you think Glenn's liketarget star rate?
If he was going to use ourscale, what do you think Glenn's
target star rating for a seasonpass card is like, where do you
think he's like, he's not reallyseeing a two star,
Cozy Snap (46:45):
a four.
I think a four and less and lesstimes.
You're off.
It's a five, but like, can Itell you something?
Like, some things are obvious.
So if you look at CaptainAmerica win Falcon, what came
out, what came out?
That same that same time that, that did.
Game mode.
Oh man.
Game mode.
Just a game mode that will helpyou out.
Alexander Coccia (47:02):
Obviously it
was the the sanctum and what was
good in that sanctum game.
Oh, damn.
Was he good in that sanct mode?
Yeah, he gave free points,basically.
Exactly.
Cozy Snap (47:09):
So like, they know
what to do, like, you know what
I mean?
So I I, whether it be a four orit helps out in some way or it's
like, look.
Yes, I think it's four, five, I,it's clearly never below a three
because we've seen it beenbuffed.
Like the only time it's fallenthat short is like Phoenix force
or Gilgamesh.
And in those cases it got buffedwithin a week.
Alexander Coccia (47:29):
Yeah.
And I bet you, honestly, perhapsthose cards just underperformed
their expectations.
I think they're probablyshooting for like four and a
half to be honest with you.
I think five is too obvious.
4 might not make the suitshappy.
Cozy Snap (47:44):
Is Surtur too
obvious?
Bro,
Alexander Coccia (47:47):
Surtur was so
stupid.
We called that like from the getgo.
And that wasn't even a like,that wasn't even like a gutsy
call.
That was like, are they actuallygonna release this like this?
Cozy Snap (47:55):
No, my guess is dude,
on, in September of 2020, was it
3 or whatever, Loki, Mobius,Alioth, and Ravonna, I think
everyone was hammered.
I think, I think either that orit was like corporate retreat.
They went to Bahamas and they'relike, Oh God, balance.
And then just, it all came, camein at once.
Or the show was just banging.
They wanted to promote it.
I don't know.
But anyway yeah, that's, that'sI think they're OP.
Alexander Coccia (48:18):
Yup, buddy.
And listen, if you think thatwas OP, you got to hear the
worst segue ever into theSnapchat mailbag.
Cozy Snap (48:26):
You just came off an
S tier transition and then you
hit me with that.
Alexander Coccia (48:30):
I'm sorry,
dude.
To be honest, that was part ofthe joke.
I knew it was going to be bad, Iwas leaning into it, but you
laughed too hard, you kind ofruined the moment, again.
Before you ruined the good one,now you ruined the bad one.
But you know what was ruined,Cozy?
Is my understanding of theAmerican vernacular.
Because we had a plethora ofcomments last week about
everything.
We, buddy, we got comments, wegotta go to the well on next
(48:53):
week, too, because there's somuch.
But this one here, there's,okay, this is a series of
comments here.
Cain Spaddy said, back blown outis a crazy statement.
Followed up by Novaclay
Cozy Snap (49:03):
who
Alexander Coccia (49:04):
said, you
watched me blow my back out is
wild.
Followed by Steve Russell Wellswho said, hey guys, I'm a Marvel
character designer on x men 97who loves snap and the snapchat.
As much as I want to commentsomething meaningful to the
conversation, I just want to saythat I've thrown out my back,
putting on socks, almost 50times
Cozy Snap (49:25):
thrown out cozy.
I think
Alexander Coccia (49:26):
something was
lost in translation last week.
Cozy Snap (49:28):
You said it on
Twitter too.
And I was like, you know, guys,Alex doesn't even know what a
chorizo is.
So like to expect him to know, dude, when I read that one that
said he watched me, you watchedme blow my back out is wild.
Alexander Coccia (49:55):
Just stop
saying it?
Okay, I'm gonna stop saying it.
Cozy Snap (49:57):
It's like, oh, it's
so funny.
That was, that was peak.
That was peak.
Like, Alex is too pure for thisworld.
It
Alexander Coccia (50:04):
was great
though.
For what it's worth, man, Ithink that must be an American
thing.
If I said that, like, in class,I don't think anyone would even
doubt No! No, don't don't testit.
Don't Okay, I'm gonna take youradvice on that one I'm not gonna
test that and then Lou Tarotsaid the fact that cozy is
terrified by Alex's water usageShows that he's a true San
(50:28):
Diegan
Cozy Snap (50:32):
Yeah, but I got the
case the get people thought we
were high You weren't oh No, I'msaving that for the next You
aren't?
Yeah, wait, you're not filmingOldies High right now?
Yes, I I don't even think thatmakes me a centurion.
I think it just makes me aperson, you know?
I think anybody who takes 9showers a day, 10 on a good day,
(50:54):
you know, needs to be talked toa little bit.
Do you blow your back out in theshower?
Alexander Coccia (51:02):
How dare you,
Cozy?
You know I blow my back out fourtimes in the shower every day.
There goes the sponsorship.
There goes, they're all gone,buddy.
The sponsorship, themonetization, the viewership,
it's all gone.
It's all gone.
Everything's gone.
But okay, should we try totransition this into a real
Marvel Snap question?
Because, or else, you know, there's going to be someone in
the comments that's going tocomplain that the Snapchat
(51:23):
mailbag has nothing to do withSnap.
Good, good, yes.
Like the guy who alwayscomments, Actuals podcast starts
and always puts the timestampbecause he hates all our intros.
Oh, that's my
Cozy Snap (51:34):
favorite guy.
That's definitely the guy that'slike It'll be 630 a.
m.
PST.
No, 635.
We're five minutes late.
It's like where the hell is
Alexander Coccia (51:42):
Yeah, and then
comments about how he hates
everything we talked about otherthan the star ratings
Cozy Snap (51:49):
Well, all I know is
we're gonna do a lot more off
the beat topics after last weekThis week's like a short
episode, but usually yes
Alexander Coccia (51:57):
Yeah, okay,
Kozy, I got one last one here.
Cozy Snap (51:59):
Okay.
Alexander Coccia (51:59):
This is a real
Marvel Snap one for the people
that are interested in MarvelSnap.
JeroDube says I wanted to shoutout Esme Cuckoo being such a
cool card design from a loreperspective.
She is biologically the daughterof White Queen, who is now a
three costed four power card.
And Ismay, which I probably saidwrong again, also has a bunch of
clone sisters, so her being a 34 making 3 4 copies is super
(52:22):
cool and fitting.
I just love when they do loweraccurate cards.
That is cool.
That is cool.
Cozy Snap (52:27):
I also, they name a
better combination than us
naming the same names wrong inthese Marvel characters and
getting just blamed in thecomments for it.
But yeah, that is cool, man.
I always actually like to know,I just, it's not often I don't
know Marvel characters, so, it'sall cool to learn.
I had just out of memory.
I was on the cast for, for therivals cast and guy goes, how,
how, how good is your Marvelknowledge?
(52:47):
And I was like, bro, like a,like a 10, like, what, like,
what, what do you mean?
He's like, he's like trying tohit me with a character.
I don't know.
And I was like, as my cuckoo,we're deep, we're deep in the
Marvel snap.
Well, Marvel, well, now thesedays.
Alexander Coccia (53:02):
That's
absolutely hilarious, dude.
That's hilarious.
And once again, I want to justreiterate how awesome you're
doing on Marvel Rivals Pro Tourthere.
Like, it's incredible, and yourknowledge of the game really
stands out in your commentary, just like it did at Deadpool's
Diner.
When CozySnap and Alex Kochatook to the kitchen.
(53:23):
Can you believe that we've onlybeen on one cast together in
Snap?
No,
Cozy Snap (53:26):
one cast together and
it was a bot fest.
That was all it was.
And they were like, Thanks guys, have a good one.
And we were like Oh, okay, isthat, that was it.
That was all, that was all theywrote.
It actually makes me mad I wasgonna just steam people up more
about the Rivals thing.
But it makes me mad how muchRivals has given into their
competitive scene and just like,my god, could it be so si it's
(53:47):
too late, it's gone, it's nevergonna happen.
But it like, at launch, if theywould have just dipped into the
competitive scene to Snap, causelike, god, it'd be so fun to
cast at a high level.
I think Snap is just so, andthere's room in between plays to
have a really intriguing, like, just fun conversation.
And so, like, I wish they did.
I do.
Alexander Coccia (54:05):
Yeah, there's
like no down time, and if they
had done a competitivetournament, Kozy, I could have
finished number one every singletime, and you could have
finished number one every othertime, I guess.
Kozy, we would have dominatedthe actual competitive scene.
That's actually untrue.
We would have just cast it, I'msure.
I probably would have gottensmoked.
But it's okay.
You know what?
I know my role.
I love it.
Thank you guys so much forjoining us on the Snapchat
Podcast.
(54:26):
We appreciate each and every oneof you.
And guess what?
This next one's gonna come evenquicker than last time, only a
couple days away.
And we'll see you on that nextone.
Cozy Snap (54:34):
Guys, that's going to
be a shorter episode of the
Snapchat this week.
A little bit of firstimpressions on fire hair, a
little bit on the OTA.
And then of course, our, our, our, just our thoughts about the
Snapchat and moving forward, notgoing anywhere.
Snapchat's not going anywhere,guys.
You get your, your your crazyquestions and Mondays to rely on
for the foreseeable future, myguys.
(54:55):
So, anyway, guys, have a goodone, have a great one.
Until the next one, happysnapping.
