Cozy (00:00):
What's going on guys?
And welcome back to yet anotherepisode of the Snapchat.
Happy summer and happy June andbrand new season.
We have the masters of theArcane the Wizard season upon us
with some really interesting andgood cards for Marvel Snap.
And it's gonna be a good way tokick things off.
This is gonna be a strong month, man.
(00:20):
I'm pumped to talk about it.
How you doing today, man?
How you doing?
Alex (00:23):
I'm doing great, buddy.
We Had some good weather here inCanada.
We got birthday party from myson.
We got drum kits and everythingfor him.
It was so fantastic.
Had all the family over and wasplaying different instruments
and stuff.
It was one of those weeks whereit was like, the weather was
nice, family's over and you justlike hell yeah, man.
This is what it's all about.
You know what I mean?
It was a really, it was a reallynice weekend, I gotta tell you.
It was fantastic.
Cozy (00:43):
Love it buddy.
We listen at first, did you seewe don't always get the luxury
of the Snap videos coming outprior to recording, but we've
been lucky this time.
And did you see it, did you getthe chance to see what I thought
was one of their better?
One?
It could've, it, it could'vecome off as low budget, but I
actually thought it was solid.
Alex (01:01):
It was by far their best
like new card hype video they've
done I remember why, I was like, wait a minute, this is a joke.
And I'm trying to remember fromlike my internet archive of what
this was referencing.
And it took me a while to figureout all I knew what was, but I
recognized it immediately, especially with the, it was
honestly broad, crushed it.
The whole thing was well done.
(01:22):
I think it was by far the bestseason video they've done.
Cozy (01:26):
Yeah.
I, again I feel like I've talkedabout this on the Snapchat at
some point, but like forwhatever reason when in like my
youth and even now I'm a suckerfor magic dude.
I've always liked magic, notmagic the gathering, although
there is that.
And funny enough, I actuallytalked to Ben Broad two days
ago.
'cause I reached out to him.
I was like, Hey man.
Awesome performance.
It came out really well.
And then we were talking aboutCommand Air.
I was asking about some of hisfavorite colors.
(01:46):
Anyway long moving on Magic hasalways been super fascinating to
me.
So when like David Blaine blewup and Chris Angel more, David
Blaine, Chris was okay to me.
But David, to me, I was like, Ialways thought it was so
fascinating.
So I watched the hell out of it.
So I knew immediately what moreof what he was doing.
But the street magic bit wa wastoo good.
They've done that on like SNLand stuff before, but I thought
(02:08):
Ben's performance was top notch.
Alex (02:10):
Oh it was fantastic.
It was awesome.
And actually there's this newshow on Disney Plus called do
Not Attempt, and I'm strugglingto, it's either Chris Angel or
David Blaine.
Now I'm mixing the two up in myhead.
This is so shameful.
I've watched like four episodesof it too, and I can't, anyways.
It's worth watching.
It's so cool.
And it's interesting'cause hegoes to all different places in
the world to learn like magic inthat area.
So he goes to Southeast Asia andhe sees kinda like buskers in
(02:33):
the street and they're likeeating glass and they're like
getting spikes and they'reputting it through their chest
somehow and all this crazystuff.
Like really, like he's findingmagic all through the world.
And it, it's just, it'sfascinating to watch.
And the title's perfect.
Do not attempt, do not attemptany of this stuff.
He does some really cool stuff.
Cozy (02:50):
Seeing Copperfield in his
prime, like before technology
was super advanced I think wouldbe awesome.
I think like that would've beensick.
And this, that's, we're talkingabout magicians, but this season
is about wizards.
I've got another question beforewe hop into Snap.
What is the, what do you thinkis like the top, what's the
Mount Rushmore of Wizards out ofvideo?
(03:10):
All the wizards, what are themost powerful in your head?
Because I was trying to think ofsome ways.
Alex (03:15):
I'm not ready for that
question.
Gandalf came to mindimmediately.
I
Cozy (03:18):
think Gandalf's on there.
I think he's gotta be, he'sgotta be on there.
The
Alex (03:20):
problem is there's Gandalf
and Dumble.
Dumbledore, and they're they'reboth casted by the same guy.
Cozy (03:24):
Dude, I feel like
Dumbledore's, does he make I
feel like he makes it by fame.
By fame, but would he make it bypower?
That's the question.
Because I think strange is upthere for sure.
Strange's gotta be.
There's no question Merlin do,but Dr.
Strange.
Yeah.
Dr.
Strange.
He's a wizard man.
Yeah.
He's definitely a wizard.
It counts.
Alex (03:41):
Yeah.
I, yeah, I guess that, thatmakes perfect sense.
Or man, I would definitely sayGandalf's near the absolute top.
Cozy (03:46):
If you think an old man
wizards, then it's definitely
Merlin, Dumbledore, Gandolph andthe dude from Wizard of Oz, even
though I think he's, you knowwhat I get
Alex (03:54):
what you're saying about
Dumbledore though.
Dumbledore was like, he was aman of reputation and less about
action.
Like people respectedDumbledore.
True.
And I'm trying to remember, Iread the whole Harry Potter
series
Cozy (04:04):
until he did that on the
movies until he did that water
ball spell.
I was like, you never seen
Alex (04:08):
the movies?
What do you mean?
I've read the books and not themovies.
I don't know, man.
Do I gotta watch those movies?
Now?
Are you adding more movies tothe list?
What did you sold Drew ShutterIsland Else did
Cozy (04:17):
five to 2015 or 2000 from
two.
Like what were you doing duringthat time?
The Harry Potter?
You just, you've never, I wasplaying
Alex (04:24):
World of Warcraft.
What were you doing
Cozy (04:26):
that too?
But I was on a good old Saturdaynight.
I was popping on the uh, youhaven't seen any of them?
Alex (04:33):
No.
I haven't seen any fair.
You've, the books, I don'tbelieve the actors, like I know
the actors, but
Cozy (04:37):
yeah, I find that funny
too.
'cause you knew the, but youread the books and you didn't
want to see the film afterreading the books.
Alex (04:44):
Yeah, I do.
I do wanna see them, but I justnever they're not on Netflix.
I think they're on some reallysuss thing in Canada that I'm
like, I don't wanna subscribe tothat.
And the DVDs are stillsurprisingly expensive.
Not DVDs, Blu-Rays, I should sayMax.
I bought a DVD in 2025.
Maybe I should watch it.
I bet you my kids would like towatch it.
You have
Cozy (05:01):
too much things ahead of
it though.
Totally.
You've got a lot.
You've got the inception you'vegot inception, you've got this
now you've got what was theother one that I had?
Shutter Island.
I just finished.
See, I'm running outta stuff towatch.
Me and my wife just watched someshow called Sirens.
It was, it's okay.
It was a little weird.
It was okay.
I think it was like a seven outTed, if you're curious.
Anyone watching.
And there was that
Alex (05:21):
other one you told me to
watch too.
Was it?
Oh my gosh.
Severance You told me I had towatch too.
And people.
That's pretty good.
And the comments were telling methere's apparently there's some
coach on Apple TV that I have towatch some.
He's a coach.
I don't know.
Oh, Ted Lasso.
Ted Lasso people said, I wouldreally like Ted Lasso.
You would like Ted Lasso?
Apparently I give lasso Tedlasso vibe.
I
Cozy (05:40):
would say yes.
I would actually say out ofeverything we've talked about,
Ted Lasso is at the top of thelist that you should watch
specifically,
Alex (05:47):
but the top of list
changes every single week.
How?
No, that's top just because
Cozy (05:51):
of you.
Like you are Ted lasso,essentially.
And that's good thing.
That's what everyone says.
I'm like, how am I Ted lasso?
I
Alex (05:56):
don't, apparently he's
like a, he's a coach or
something, but I'm notwholesome.
Actually, I was a coach for awhile.
Cozy (06:00):
You're a wholesome,
you're, it's wholesome.
It's wholesomeness, but it alsohas a little bit of everything
in there.
So it's top notch.
I'm still blown away that youthought Alicia Keys was
Beyonce's daughter and combinethat with, you haven't seen
Harry Potter.
There's a lot that I'm alwaysmystified.
You might be the biggest wizardthat I know.
I just you always shock me.
Alex (06:17):
You know what?
It's funny, people in thecomments, there's two camps,
right?
There's people that think it'sfunny and there's people that
are actually like insulted byit.
There group of people, I'm alittle.
There was a co, there were acouple comments where like I,
you made mention of somethingand I'm like, I don't know what
that is.
And people were like, bro, Idon't wanna listen to this guy
talk about Marvel stuff if hedoesn't know what blank is.
And I'm like, I've never heardof it, Mike.
(06:39):
I know he doesn know
Cozy (06:39):
JayZ, he can't talk about
Dr.
J.
It's that's nothing to do withit.
I think it was
Alex (06:43):
when I said I didn't know
anything about Secret Invasion.
I think that tilted people out.
There was a couple guys who werelike, no, Alex doesn't exist in
my mind anymore.
Because that's, if you don'tknow Secret invasion, you can't
talk about Marvel.
No.
So I'm okay.
I gotta resub to, I gotta getsome comics or something.
Cozy (06:58):
You can, you could
probably miss that one.
Buddy, we've got a lot to talkabout there.
So a ton of cards coming guys.
And this is by far, what all I'mtelling you is I've got, you've
got multiple fives this season.
I've got multiple fives.
No, I got two fives.
Alex (07:11):
You have multiple fives?
I got two fives.
Two.
This season, honestly, I got alot of four point fives, maybe
fives.
I wasn't willing to commit tofive, but maybe there's one card
that I just might, we'll talkabout it probably really soon.
But even ranking the cards.
Dude, there's 10 carts.
I was like, this is so hard torank.
I was, honestly, I'm so nervousabout this episode.
(07:32):
There's so many cards.
Have notes.
Actually think they're farbetter this month than they were
last.
Cozy (07:35):
I, we've had friends in
town.
I've been on the beat.
I have just zero notes, so I'mgoing all off of just the old
imagination.
I, I am ams, but that's how Ilike it the best, man.
That's where I, that's where we,it all thrives together.
Alex, we know what we're talkingabout on this side.
Because we have Ted cards.
It's the cards.
Alex, what are we talking abouton your side of the Snapchat?
Alex (07:51):
Cozy.
On my side of the Snapchat,we're gonna be doing a complete
review of all the cards thatreleased last season, giving our
impressions, and of course goingthrough our prior rankings.
We'll also be talking about theOTA, giving our hot takes and
letting you guys know what wethink.
And then as always our Snapchatmail back.
Cozy (08:05):
Buddy, we've got Merlin,
the game Changing Wizard coming
as a two cost, three power card.
And he reads at the start ofeach turn, add an incantation to
your hand.
Now there's a lot of these to gothrough.
Not really.
There's a few of them, butyou've got two threes, so you've
got good stats.
Off the rip.
Let's talk about Merlin.
(08:25):
And I guess before we dive in,actually I always like the
initial, so we don't build upour hype or not hype later.
What are you giving them?
Alex (08:33):
Also, let's just state for
the record that this has been
years of me giving star ratingsfirst and potentially
embarrassing myself ahead ofyou.
I almost find it so much morestressful giving the star
rating.
We can also, so I.
I almost, I do appreciate that,Cozy.
But you know what, this has beenworking for us for years now, so
let's keep it going.
This, I almost gave this five.
I do think Merlin is gonna beone of the new, oh, this goes
(08:54):
pretty point much whenever Iwant it.
I did 4.5.
I don't like the 0.5 and thereason why I did 4.5 was'cause I
think it, it could touch five, but I don't think it's like an
obvious oh, Serer release five.
Or I don't see oh, this is gonnaactually destroy Snap five.
I just think it's gonna be areally good card and probably,
definitely worth having in yourcollection.
(09:15):
I think he's a
Cozy (09:15):
five without even
hesitation.
I think he's a full five.
Really?
You think he's there?
Yeah.
I think he's a full five.
I think he is too good.
I think he's too good.
I, okay.
Alex (09:23):
That's interesting.
Cozy (09:24):
Yeah, dude, just look at
everything he does and the
amount of different decisionmaking and how much that's gonna
impact games in Snap and the.
Man, I just, I think he's got somuch going for him.
This is probably my favoritecard of the month.
I can even spoil that.
Maybe there's one other one thatI have right there with him.
But this is a solid five and Ithink, so we'll break it down.
We'll get into more specifics, but again, we've got that, we've
(09:47):
got that two, three, Mr.
Alex.
And let's talk about the thedifferent things that he can
start creating.
Now each turn, he's going togreat one while he is out there,
right?
While he is out played on thebattlefield.
So first up, we got the classicPolymorph.
So on reveal, transform yourlowest powered card here into
one that costs two more.
This is a one cost skill card.
(10:08):
So this is the first one thatwe'll talk about.
And this alone, I'm just, I'msaying seems pretty strong and
really a lot of why I can give agood amount of my no hesitation
of a five star.
Is that I feel like, dude, thisguy can fit into anything and
make several archetypes waybetter.
Like every now and then we getsome cards like that only fit in
(10:29):
one archetype, but we couldalmost give it a five, like
serer'cause he does such a goodjob.
I feel like this guy can beplayed all over.
And then there's a couple thingsthat he really amps up.
But Polymorph man sounds prettydamn good.
It's a, it's like a Circe forone card, but it costs two more
and it's only one to play.
Alex (10:48):
It's phenomenal.
And the other thing about it toois it can be used both
offensively.
Like you can use it on somethinglike a hood, right?
Turn a hood into a gladiator.
That's a pretty good trait.
And you have the demon in yourhand, of course.
Do bear in mind, this is also acounter play to something like a
clogged deck they throw over hobgoblin, you turn it into, I
guess rim or scar.
And then you get something likea green gowin turn into a five
(11:08):
cost, get a debris rock, turn itinto a three cost.
That's pretty cool, man.
Honestly, if you think about theability to use it offensively
with the hood or defensivelywhile you're being clogged it
really does provide a lot ofversatility for for the player
playing it.
Cozy (11:21):
It's the fact that yes,
Merlin's gonna be costing extra
energy, but I love the fact thatyou're gonna have all these
different plays that you can doas you curve into what is the
given situation.
But yeah, to your point, don'twanna spoil too much, but I will
say, I think Bounce is reallycool here.
I think Joaquin, who doesn't getplayed much at all, Joaquin, all
of these are on reveal cards, soI don't really know how that'll
(11:42):
exactly transpire and if you'regonna want to do that, but I
think it's a cool synergy.
But I think Bounce is just agood example of one that I think
is a cool archetype that shouldjust work well and then clog to
your point as well.
Alex (11:53):
Yeah, there's a lot of
really cool synergies.
I actually thought about whatabout the century and void
combo?
Like you can polymorph the void.
That's like void into Dr.
Doom, Hey, that's, I'll takethat all day long, right?
So yeah, what
Cozy (12:06):
I love about that is
you've got the incantations that
you can have, in your hand toplay at a later time.
Or if you wanna just play it oncurve to get a little bit of
that advantage, it can be builtaround a lot of those decks, but
this is just one of'em.
But going up two is crazy.
Dude, a three to a five afteryou've used its ability that you
need to use, or not as many, butfour to a six that's definitely
(12:26):
pretty strong, especially forthose last desperate hope plays.
On turn six where you'redefinitely gonna lose, but you
are looking at what's availableand you can maybe get something
to work.
And this is being a big part ofit, obviously, lowest power
card, you can make someinteresting things outta that
because it's not cost, it'spower.
I think this one alone is reallycool.
Alex (12:45):
There's lots of locations
that this will synergize with
too.
Like when you get the Raptors orthe Ninja dudes or the Discard
and put a rock there orwhatever, right?
There's lots of things that justjunk your board up.
Like even locations junk yourboard up.
Central Park is awful.
I hate Central Park man.
What do we just freakingsquirrels everywhere all the
time.
And I think that obviously it'lldo more to provide you with some
utility where your opponent's Iguess I'm playing with
(13:06):
squirrels.
In my experience though, everytime it's Central Park, I'm
against a Patriot player.
Un like believably.
But anyways yeah, polymorpho.
Cozy (13:13):
And then next up we have
Omniverse presence.
Another one Cost Skill on Revealwill replace this location with
a new one and give Merlin plustwo power Scarlet Witch and
absolute shambles At this pointthis is literally just the, this
is so bad.
It's almost man I wish I, Ithink Scarlet's more powerful
than Merlin.
What are we doing?
(13:34):
They gotta re-release her orsomething if they're gonna go
that route.
But again.
We know location control is verypowerful.
This is really interesting of acar that you can just hold onto
for one cost.
You just have this in your handthat how many times you play and
rely on a location for thereason you're winning, or the
opponent is, or there's, a,something massive can change.
If you could just change that.
(13:55):
Oh, and on top of that, you cangive Merlin up to a two five.
Good old shout out to Lizard ofOld I I.
This is also cracked.
Alex (14:02):
It's absolutely cracked.
It's phenomenal.
Location control's huge in Snap.
Good enough that they took itoff.
Rhino, when they buffed him, they're like, bro, we can't have
Rhino being too good.
So they took it away from Rhinoto give it to Merlin over here,
which is nuts.
And yeah, Scarlet Witch, whatare you gonna even do?
I think Scarlet Wish you need tobe completely reworked, like six
cost card change all threelocations and summon wicked and
(14:23):
speed or something like that.
She needs to do somethingcompletely wild.
I think changing all threelocations, kinda but like
instead of Legion it's like allrandom locations or something.
Yeah.
Could be cool.
I don't know, man, whatever.
But no it's totally funny howthat works, honestly.
The other thing is that like itcould work in like Cerebro
decks.
We're seeing Cerebro locationcontrol's important there.
But keeping in mind that thiswill Buff Merlin, does C five
(14:44):
make a comeback?
Yeah.
Just throwing it out there.
Maybe.
Cozy (14:46):
So I wanted to, I wanna
back up and you mentioned Wcan.
I actually think Merlin is likeone of the best Wiccan cards.
'cause you have this card thatcan.
Like definitely help you fillthat middle gap.
He's perfect.
Especially if you were like to
Alex (14:57):
keep bishop up.
Cozy (14:57):
Yeah.
I think he could be reallystrong just to have more
dependable of that ramp.
But this is what I'm saying.
You've got polymorph, you've gotomni universal presence, okay.
Both of which just give you somuch control, power, and options
and different ways to get outtasituations.
This is a two cost card that'snot doing anything but putting
these in your hand.
(15:18):
Lastly, we've got a one energyzero power card.
Your skill card on reveal.
Shuffle your lowest power cardhere into your deck, and you get
plus two energy next turn.
So your lowest power card goesinto the deck.
Something like the hood, whichis obviously very strong.
And then you get plus two energythe next turn.
So we've got a one cost cardthat's gonna give you ramp of
(15:40):
two, bro.
All of these, there's only threeoptions too.
I love the lack of optionsbecause it means that all of
these are going to be very goodover the course of the game.
On curve.
It's crazy, but even not stillvery good.
I think this is a no-brainer.
Five, and I don't even know howyou end up fixing some of the
stuff that they're gonna becreating.
Alex (15:59):
I am just excited for the
first time in Marvel Snap's
history.
Baku is gonna be a fi a, a steerguard.
You Baku once and future back inyour deck.
He comes down from the top ropefor the win.
Oh, what a beautiful sight, man.
It's gonna be so nice.
I can't wait for it.
Berlin's great.
I do think Merlin's really good.
Also it's worth noting thatomniverse presence destroys
(16:21):
magic too.
Not this particular card, butthe one prior.
'Cause he just has everything.
He has location control.
He has ramp.
He's like a jack of all treats.
And if you can think criticallyabout, like we mentioned Keith
Bishop there in passing KeithBishop was a season pass card
has ultimately been a prettyreliable good card.
Just a good card you put in manyplaces.
This feels like it has a higherceiling.
This definitely has a higherceiling than Kate Bishop and
(16:43):
Kate Bishop has proven to be alegit card.
You
Cozy (16:44):
know what options can do
in the game.
And maybe I'm dead wrong, but Ifeel like he's going to continue
to age and I have no questionabout it.
He'll be nerfed by August.
That's my guess.
I think mid, no July's too soon.
I think end of July, earlyAugust, he gets a Nerf.
The
Alex (17:01):
season past p plot armor
here.
Remember that?
He
Cozy (17:03):
does.
Yeah.
That's why I gave it till later.
But that's how good I think heis, man, because the two, three,
you've got the solid stat line.
I don't think he stays at twothree.
That's one way you hit him andthen you just have outs, like
you just said.
You have like control oflocations.
You have control of ramp to helpyou out in the future.
All of these are one, it's thething is they're all one cost.
That's what really gets me goingcrazy.
Like how does this guy live inInfinity Old ultra and stuck
(17:25):
with what he's got?
It's crazy.
Alex (17:27):
Yeah, I know the card's
really good.
The only reason why I went to4.5, I wanted to give him five
and for the record in ourrankings, I do have him at one
for this season, so I amagreeing with you here.
The only reason why I didn'tgive him a five.
Because I almost, when I give afive, I almost want that oh,
this card's broken.
I think like for instance, Igave Scream a five.
I gave like when I see a reallyoh yeah, this thing's getting
(17:48):
nerfed a hundred percent.
I don't know if Merlin getsnerfed.
Like I know you're saying likeit's coming For sure.
I don't know if he completelybreaks the game.
I think he's making some cardscompletely power crap like
Scarlet Witch we joked about andstuff like that.
He is very good.
And actually something youtouched on too, which I think
was a great point, is the lackof options.
It makes him much moreconsistent.
(18:08):
And we joked about oh, we werescared of Nico Minoru.
This is a, has half the cards ofNico Minna.
Half the versatility perhaps, but double the reliability.
You know what you're gettingright.
Cozy (18:20):
I wanna take this moment
to say hello real quick down
there in the corners.
You see there's Alex and Cozy inthe future.
Going back to this take andreacting to the content of one
of us being dead, dead wrong.
I, but hello I,'cause I thinkwe're saying hi to Alex.
Hi Alex.
Of the how you, why are youlooking like that?
Why are you looking down?
Alex, it wasn't that wrong.
You weren't.
(18:40):
Hey, no, you could be completelyright.
Yeah.
So anyway, two, three, man, allthese skill cards, keep in mind
they're skills that's gonna beimportant to remember.
And it's, yeah I think this isone of the more exciting season
pass cards.
This is a must pull, must buy.
If you play the game, anycapacity, no matter the deck
type, you are going to enjoythis card.
You're gonna play it.
And we're not even scratchingthe surface.
Take those three cards and thenjust look at all the DI mean,
(19:02):
different archetypes that thiscan fit in reliably with a ramp
option, with the polymorphoption.
And then obviously with the thelocation change less or so.
Alex (19:10):
There is something super
important that you just
mentioned by accident.
Okay.
We'll talk about it later, butNicholas scratch.
Yep.
We are getting a scaler that canscale with this card already,
which is really important too.
That's a really well played Cozythere.
But yeah I'm excited for thiscard and I think that honestly,
and for what it's worth, I thinkit's a good choice for the
season pass.
They could have went sexier andcould have went dormammu with
the season pass.
(19:31):
However, Duam I think is gonnahave a much more narrow focus
and I think that anybody likethe average player playing
Marvel Snap casually, I thinkMerlin will be a better card for
them because it can fill gaps incollections the way Duam is
likely gonna be unable to, doyou know what I mean?
Like it's just a good the wayCopycat was like, oh, you don't
have that card.
(19:51):
Just play Copycat
Cozy (19:52):
Aham came out of this
month last year.
Aisha's that old.
Yeah.
No way.
So it's funny that Dorm Mama'scoming out because.
It's like they do.
It's like we get one, we've gothigh Evo.
You get that, you get air show, you get that.
It's like one of those gamechanger.
I'm interested to talk abouthim.
We'll get to him.
He's definitely spicy though.
He's gonna be an extremely funone to talk about.
(20:14):
Let's move on though.
We've got Morgan Lafe.
Anything else on Berlin?
By the way, I feel like we couldliterally talk up Berlin for 30
minutes.
Like I, there's so manydifferent little things about
where you can utilize him evenwhat was, what one of those
skill cards.
Oh, polymorph.
Jubilee.
I was thinking about that.
You play down Jubilee of oldbecause I was thinking about Log
jaw.
You throw that down.
Jubilee, boom, bring somethingdown.
(20:34):
And then you polymorph theJubilee that four one into a
six.
Alex (20:38):
True.
Yeah.
'cause Jubilee's always feltlike a little bit of dead weight
there.
Cozy (20:41):
I'm there's way more
examples of, this is all I'm
saying.
We've
Alex (20:44):
barely, like how dare you
give yourself the wife Who?
Morgan Lafa.
You give me nightmare.
Oh, I like, listen,
Cozy (20:50):
I hadn't have noticed.
I just.
I just plopped them down.
I just put one on side.
No, you know what you did side.
I can either confirm nor denythat I wanted mine where I have
mine.
And you
Alex (21:01):
always get the yfu in the
graphics that you always have
the y always
Cozy (21:05):
Do I usually get the Yfu?
Probably.
I think so.
I think I think that might beMorgan LA phase A four cost,
seven power card.
Alex, on reveal return all ofyour discarded and destroyed
cards throughout the game toyour hand with plus three power.
How do you feel about Morgan?
Alex (21:24):
Bro?
This is one of the ones, I don'tknow what to rate it.
I have it currently starredthree question mark is what I
have in my notes because this isone of those ones I know we go
back to it.
We say this often.
I think it's a really cool card.
I think it's a really cooldesign.
I really think they cooked withthis.
I like it.
However, I don't know if it'sgood.
Like I, I don't know if it'sgood or not.
(21:45):
And so I've been trying tofigure out like, what am I gonna
do?
Is it a discard card or is it aDestroy card?
Because we've had cards thatlike, have both texts like X 23.
It's very rarely a discard card, and that is a destroy card.
Where does Morgan Lafe Dr.
Fall?
Is it really discard?
Is it really destroyed?
Yeah.
Where is it?
Man, I've been all over theplace with this card.
I just, I'm really tossed upwith that.
(22:06):
I've, I'm going with the threestar, but honestly that's a very
hesitant I'm honestly not sure.
I, I just, I'm punting on thisone.
Like this one is a really weirdone.
Cozy (22:13):
Yeah, I think she's really
fun because here's the deal.
This is what I thought abouther.
I thought to myself, if you getto play her, I think she's
fantastic.
I think she's very good.
The problem is if you don't getto play her, what does the deck
look like?
What are you building to makeher work really well?
Because if you play her, I thinkshe's a.
Good guard, bro.
Plus three, stupid for fourseven.
That's really good.
But then I was like what are yougonna play?
(22:35):
What do you destroy?
And then what do you play?
And there's a lot of steps toyour point, and to what you
said, you've gotta set up a lotto get her to work, right?
I think though, when I was goingthrough the options of what you
can pull off with her, you can'thave anything too expensive
because it's already turnedfive, right?
You play here in four, allthese, whatever happens, comes
back.
And so you have to be somewhatcareful of what you're working
(22:56):
out, bro.
Is this one of those Death Zoodecks, right?
So you've got all these cheapone cost cards.
You have Killmonger, you havedeath in your deck, you have all
these one costs.
You destroy them with Kon onthree, you play her on four,
they come back, you get allthese one costs with plus three
on them.
And then, it might not cooking.
I feel like this is a hundredpercent you're cooking.
(23:17):
I think this is it.
You're cooking.
You could do what is that?
What's that?
SOB you could do bullseye, youcould do some discord stuff.
That works like ramps into it.
But what I don't like about thatis discard can have things
happen that you don't want tohappen, right?
There's some funky things likebullseye safer I guess.
But I think that the story zoois the play.
I think I actually, that to meit's a whole new way to play
(23:38):
that archetype and that's whathas me pumped about it.
I'm gonna give it a four.
Alex (23:42):
Okay.
Ooh, that's nice.
I think four, five worth, dude.
3.5.
I'm gonna go back 3.5.
Okay.
Fourth's worth.
I think it could totally be afour.
I just, so while I was trying tolike figure.
Out my notes for the pod.
What I came up with is preciselywhat you were just discussing.
Think about its synergypotentially with fire, hair, and
misery.
So fire hair had been largelyunderplayed despite the fact I'm
(24:03):
still, I still think fire hair'sa great card.
I still think it's a great card.
It just hasn't found its nicheyet, but when it does, it's
gonna be fire.
You like that.
And misery, I think has beenseeing play here and there.
So those are ways instead ofKillmonger, you could be using
fire, hair, misery stuff.
I thought about what if you dropa one drop let's say you do
Silver sable or rock raccoon, two in one.
Turn two, you do something likea fire hair and then on turned.
(24:26):
I dunno.
Turn four you misery, whateveryou've been playing, you blow
them up.
Turn five.
You Morgan, LA Flay.
Oh sorry.
Turn two is black swan.
Okay, that's what I meant.
That's what's missing there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You have black swan on the boardon turn two and then on turn
five you play Morgan La Flayafter you blow them up on the
turn four with misery and thenwhen you bring them all back,
they're one cost you canactivate Black Swan not only
(24:48):
getting the plus threes, butthey're gonna be free in your
hand too.
I was trying to figure out howthat deck could work and I just
described it in like the worstpossible, most confusing way
possible.
But what I'm trying to say is Ithink that there is a way to
make a Black Swan one drop deck.
Possibly even with somethinglike a Joaquin Torres Falcon
work with this, what it lookslike right now, I'm still trying
to iron out, I it, I'm treatingMorgan Lafaye as like a deck
(25:11):
design challenge for myself.
But Cozy, I think you're on theright track.
I think the Destroy side isprobably better than the discard
side.
And I think we have better toolsin fire here and misery.
Cozy (25:20):
Yeah.
And so what I was saying toallude at the beginning is that
like when you get to play that,I think it's almost game
winning.
I think you'll win with thatkind of deck, but if you don't,
how strong is the Zoo death deckin its current form And what are
your backup options?
So that's what I think of.
Maybe Merlin, maybe you gotthese ones in your like
Polymorph and stuff like, Idon't know.
(25:41):
But who else do you have on topof that?
Oh okay, maybe you do Merlin andNicholas scratch and we get to
him and then you, I scratch isbuilding up.
There's stuff you can do here.
And I love the idea of all thesecheap skill cards, all these
cheap zoo cards.
It, to me that's the more I playSnap, the more I realize.
I like playing cheap stuff andnot the stuff that just takes so
(26:01):
much to get done.
You know what I mean?
I like playing cards and that.
I feel like this is a cool deckto do.
Alex (26:07):
Hey, listen to this.
This is, I was just thinkingabout this.
Wanna hear something stupid?
Okay, watch this.
You play one drop on turn.
One turn two blocks, Swan turnthree, Shauna.
Okay, there.
Cozy (26:14):
Turn
Alex (26:14):
four.
Skill monger, whatever you want.
Iron.
Turn five.
Morgan Lafe activate black swan.
You have a, you have multiplerandom one drops.
You don't even have to play theones that are garbage.
There you go.
But they're like even a what'sher name that tries to lose?
Seanna would definitely be inthe deck.
Cozy (26:28):
Yeah.
Shauna's gotta be in the zoodeck.
Oh yeah.
Big time.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
That's sexy.
Wait, when Shauna's on.
Even
Alex (26:34):
go ahead.
Like misery is like a what?
Like a onee?
Naturally.
Yeah.
Not misery.
What am I talking about?
No, not misery.
Martyr.
Yeah.
Martyr.
Martyr's.
A onee.
You got the hydration bobber.
He is one seven.
Like these are bro.
Just bangers, man.
Cozy (26:47):
Did you see that?
They're putting a bundle calledHydration, Robert.
Alex (26:52):
Someone tagged me on this.
Marty, I'm so excited for it.
Cozy (26:54):
I'm excited for you.
Look at you, man.
You're making your stamp onSnap.
Alex (26:58):
I know.
It's literally the most impactI've had on Snap Hydration,
Robert, coming up.
I wish they did hydrationbobber.
'cause it did evolve intohydration.
Bobber.
Okay, but I'll take hydration,Robert.
I'm so proud of that.
I can't wait when it goes out,I'm gonna do a screenshot of it.
I'm gonna post to my YouTubecommunity.
It's gonna be a great day.
I'm
Cozy (27:14):
proud for you.
But yeah, anyway, I thinkdestroy, definitely gonna hit
here in Morgan Lafe.
You've got a really funarchetype being made this month.
Has a lot of cool new archetypesor sub archetypes that are gonna
be made from it.
And that's what has me pumpedup.
Morgan Lafe 3.5 consistency ismy worry.
Moving on, Alex, we've got theancient one now.
(27:38):
The ancient one is a three fivehonor reveal.
You're gonna add Tau Mandala toyour hand.
Now, who is that?
What do they do?
Alex, it's a three cost card onReveal.
Copy the text of one of yourongoing cards here onto your
other characters here.
So this is another skill card onagain, on reveal copy the text
(27:59):
of one of your ongoing cards toyour other characters.
This one's interesting to me.
What are we thinking about?
What are we thinking about here?
Go with the star rating first.
Alex (28:09):
Early star rating.
I wrote four.
I do think this is a good card.
I have concerns though.
Like I, I might even go 3.5.
I don't like going to the 0.5.
If I can avoid it, I'd like tostay at four perhaps.
However, it is expensive toplay.
I think it does feel slow.
Yeah.
And that's my concern.
Yeah.
But man, is the ceiling high onthis.
Cozy (28:31):
That's my concern was the
slowness.
Like I just went on that wholerant about, oh man, I love cheap
cars to play.
What does it look like?
What are you playing on?
One and two.
And is it.
The new cards probably likeNicholas scratch and then
probably Merlin is like what youwant to try to do.
Then you play, you got thiscard, but you want these it
doesn't even have to be Nicholas'cause you're actually wanting
(28:51):
to turn some of these bad cardsinto the ongoing card.
I just feel like it has, notthat I don't know if it'll
produce the same, but it has thesame, like this, long mystique,
gambit flavor.
That's when you'll win.
If you could pull things offthat are really crazy and stuff,
and you can go high and do somepretty, there's some super
strong ongoing cards.
Talk about that.
(29:12):
What are some of your favoriteshere?
What You give her a four.
Alex (29:15):
Yeah, but this is, again,
this is a very hesitant form
where like these cards, I thinkthey're really scratching a very
fascinating niche in a lot ofways.
These are cards that I thinkthey're very inventive.
And I like the designs.
Honestly, I think this month isimpeccably well designed
compared to prior months.
So yeah I'm sticking with fourhere.
Even early on I was like, Hey,what would I want to just flip
(29:36):
over?
Even as simple as an antman, like honestly copying an antman
and then having all obviouslythe skill will disappear, but
you copy turn everything intothe ongoing of an antman.
That's a lot of immediate power.
In the video example, theyprovided something like a blue
Marvel, which is cool.
I think one of the challenges iscan you isolate an ongoing card
in a location to copy.
Cozy (29:56):
Yeah.
While
Alex (29:57):
also having two other
cards there, you'll never have
four copies because the skillhas to occupy one.
But, so I'm a, I know man, I seeit.
I'm a four.
Cozy (30:04):
I'm a four with you.
And not even, because I don'tknow, I don't know how this is
gonna land, but it's mainly'cause I play a lot of Patriot.
That's my comfort deck.
That's what I love to play.
And I think this is just a funsquirrel, girl patriot.
You play this down, they allbecome Patriot.
You finish with Ultron and thenyou've got like your three
Patriots.
I just think that's the stuffI'm gonna do.
(30:25):
And I think there's enough ofthat out there.
That warrants her to have somecreative deck design.
And so I'll give her the benefitof the doubt.
This is more of my fun fourcard, but it's probably like
more like a three.
But I think a four could beplausible.
Alex (30:37):
I'm hesitant on this.
I feel like this is, of all thecards, one of them I can miss
high on.
Cozy (30:42):
Yeah, for sure.
Alex (30:43):
But I just see it, man.
I just think that there's a lotof very heavy combos that can be
pulled off and not just like theWong Combos, like they show a
lot of those Wong combos arevery greedy.
Cozy (30:53):
Yeah.
Alex (30:54):
Even something like
copying a moonstone, like
moonstone can be incrediblypower.
Ah, wait a minute.
But if you're copying Moonstone, are you getting rid of all the
other effects?
I take that back.
Hold on.
I don't think Moon Stone works.
Cozy (31:04):
Yeah, never mind.
Alex (31:05):
Never mind.
Cozy (31:05):
That's fine.
But what I, what I think why sheshould get a four, even if we're
missing high, because like thefear of missing is okay, she
just made to be a fun card.
Like end of the day is that herdesign?
Yeah, but there we're alwaysgonna get ongoing cards, like
specifically when we get stuffwith on Reveal and ongoing, it
just it tends to get me moreexcited for this car's relevance
as we continue down Snap's line.
(31:26):
Because you continue to have acar that can interact with
ongoing cards that really wantit to make it work.
So I think that's why I likeher.
Moving forward, she's going to,this is a card that if you pull,
you can't be mad.
Alex (31:39):
You know why I almost
wanna draw mine to a three
because Merlin's spells are allones.
And this is a three.
It's expensive, bro.
I it's a very, from a three, I
Cozy (31:48):
was a hard three and I'm
like, I'll meet you at four
'cause I wanted to meet youwhere you're at.
I'll go right back down tothree.
You don't have to twist my arm,
Alex (31:55):
man.
I don't know, man.
I don't wanna convince you to bewrong.
I'm gonna three.
Cozy (31:57):
I'm staying at three.
Alex (31:59):
I've moved.
Okay.
We going?
We okay?
We just doing this together.
We just both going to three.
I
Cozy (32:02):
think we
Alex (32:03):
go to three.
Cozy (32:03):
I think at the end of the
day, there's no way, think about
it.
It's gotta be a three.
Because if it, the things thiscould do too strong.
If Toad was too
Alex (32:13):
cost skill would've been
easy.
Cozy (32:14):
Of course.
But it's too strong to be tooreliable.
That's my issue.
Glenn's very careful with that.
Does that make sense?
Like this thing free.
I know exactly what you'resaying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's too strong to be tooreliable.
And that's how we get that'swhere the funness comes in.
And that's where you see the funcards, right?
So what are other cards likethat?
Infiniti.
Ultron not reliable.
What could be strong?
Like I, that's, I, that'sprobably, it's not as bad as
(32:36):
that, but I'm gonna go three.
Alright, Alex, next up isNightmare.
Who is a three cost negativeone?
We don't get a lot of negativecards, Alex, so why?
Why is it a negative power card?
On Reveal, replace the text ofeach card in your hand with text
from a random card of the samecost.
(32:59):
Oh man.
Oh man.
Oh man.
We're gonna talk about the OTAon your side, but so on.
Obviously going down andchanging him altogether was a
lot of why this guy is existing.
Those two cards are gonnacoincide together.
We've got a new so on card, butwe also have a new, very strong
card, man.
I, okay.
Before we get into it, what doyou rate this thing?
Alex (33:22):
I'm really nervous
Cozy (33:23):
about this.
I'm giving you the two stars, two.
I'm giving it two.
Alex, it's not too late.
I can edit it out.
It's not too late.
Alex (33:31):
I know.
I really wrestled with this onehere in a three negative one.
I think it might be bad.
Do you think it's good?
Cozy (33:40):
I think it's pretty
Alex (33:41):
good.
I'm so nervous about what thisthis is gonna be a really bad
take.
I'm so nervous.
I, but
Cozy (33:46):
I think it's, I, you know
what, before I get I want you to
have the floor for a second.
Why besides that it's a negativeone.
Why do you think
Alex (33:55):
it's bad?
'cause I think it's probably aworse Mr.
Negative.
I think the way it's gonna playis not gonna be strong.
I think you're playing having itcome down on turn three with a
lot of cards that you wanna flipis slow.
I think that I think that whenit was a two, two, I think it
was very strong coming out thatturn earlier.
I think it was a big deal.
Three negative one is just toomuch.
(34:16):
I think it's a massive nerve.
The only thing that gives mepause is obviously at two two it
was completely broken,obviously.
It was incredible.
Okay.
However, there are just too manyquestion marks as to what you
can get stuck with it.
Like just, I just don't know.
I just don't see it.
There are some absolutelyphenomenal hits that I can't
wait to talk about that wouldprove my evaluation incorrect.
(34:39):
I just feel like ironically, Mr.
Negative is likely more reliablethan this.
And I don't like playing Mr.
Negative and Mr.
Negative all pretty good withGore and stuff.
I just see the holes innightmare and I'm concerned with
its power level.
Cozy (34:53):
No, I actually don't think
this thing's like the best card
of the game or anything.
I, so I feel like it, you gaveit a two, I think you're right.
So a two Two, this was a fivestar to the Moon card.
Yeah.
To the Moon.
Yeah.
Now it is.
Oh man, I don't, I'm gonna giveit a four.
I'm gonna go down to the fivefive.
(35:13):
I'm gonna give it the benefit ofthe doubt.
I'm not gonna give it a two.
I think my issue is, I thinkit's a super meme card, like
pixie in this sound awesometogether, like in the craziest
way.
I think pixie in this is reallyfun.
But the idea, dude, this hasemperor hulking written all over
it.
The idea though, of playing anfinite that puts out Dr.
(35:35):
Dooms or playing a, an Ebony mathat you know has ant man's
effect playing lizard red Skullman, red skull.
It's just I like that it's thehand'cause you're able to
control if you even want to play'em, like negative's the deck.
And so then you have to like, hope you top deck the right
things.
This, you're not gonna play thisunless you've got the red skull,
unless you've got infinite.
(35:55):
Maybe the Ebony Mall, I thinkthis is a four.
I'm gonna say four and a half.
I'm going up.
Alex (36:01):
Wow.
Four and a half.
I'm just concerned, I don'twanna talk you down from your
five, if you were thinking youwanted to give this five no.
Five.
I think five was more at thetwo, two I, when I was really
sitting about this car listen, you can really get caught up on
the crazy stuff.
Think about a tma, typhoid Maryturning into Captain Marvel.
That's pretty good, right?
What about Red skull turninginto Ironman?
That is, is that not what youwere just mentioning?
That's a dream come true, right?
(36:23):
How about destroyer or if infantnot with Dr.
Doom?
Hell yeah.
I just mentioned this as well.
Here's another cook.
Okay?
As someone who loves Surfer, imagine brood with star brand's
text or te sorry, star brandwith broods text.
How this cooking, right?
This not,
Cozy (36:35):
how is this not a afford?
Because I know you're gonna say'cause I know you what you've
got.
You're gonna be you've got theinverse.
You've you're about to come inhot with that inverse'cause in
for a huling, I was on the, Iwas on the train.
I think that upside's too goodin the fact of how you can
control that at only a threeCause, and the sheer fact that
he was a two, two.
And not only did they have tomake him a three cost'cause
(36:57):
they're like two broken, theyalso had to give him negative
three power.
So he was clearly like, okay, this is the best card in the
game so let's tame him down.
And I don't think they'd takehim from that down to a three or
a two.
I think they take him from thatto a four, 4.5 very good card.
Amazing.
In the decks especially thathe's supposed to work in.
Alex (37:15):
I agree.
Here's the thing.
Okay.
Yep.
So obviously he was broken as atutu.
They also pre changed Saron.
If you think about what they didto Saron, they made it so sarn
only affects the things likedoesn't affect the things in the
hand.
Yep.
Which leaves nightmare.
The opportunity to then impactthe things in the hand.
Sars gonna strip the deck.
Nightmare strips the hand.
They work hand in hand together.
No pun intended.
(37:35):
However, my concern is that ifyou're playing stuff like Ebony
MA and all these like suss highpower cards that have all these
downsides, what do your firsttwo turns look like if you're
like, assuming you're not justplaying Sarah on stuff.
Like what do your first twoturns look?
So
Cozy (37:48):
on is who you're playing.
Turn you have to have so on.
Yeah, probably.
Alex (37:51):
Sure.
But like I'm saying there, therehas to be other opportunities to
play other archetypes too, tosome degree.
'cause I'm just saying thatthere's a chance that's not
necessarily reliable.
You are giving up turn three toplay.
Nightmare.
Nightmare is a complete wash toplay on turn three.
It doesn't have the upside thatMr.
Negative does.
'cause Mr.
Negative, you know exactly whatcards are getting flipped for
the most part.
Obviously you draw your Ironman, that feels bad, but Mr.
(38:13):
Think about how much morereliable, negative on three,
rvoa negative into whatever,lady Jane.
And then you pull all thosecards and you have this God hand
nightmare can give you a bunchof garbage.
There's no guarantee.
And now you have a threenegative one on the board.
Cozy (38:26):
Lady Jane, first of all,
you're mentioning like the one
thing that is the most like, probably retreated thing in the
game, right?
So like that happens, people areout.
Yeah.
Okay.
So there's that, there's thesurprise factor.
So you're not ever gonna getall, you're not gonna get that
pulled off unless you're low ELOstuff.
But then let's forget that thenthat's a plus for him because
here's the deal, you play himout on negative you play him out
as a negative one.
Okay?
(38:48):
Talk about the Snap initiativethat you have.
'cause now you get to see, youget to see what your red skull
turned into.
It's not a cce that's like goingout on the board and then
changing everything and you'relike, I hope you get to see what
happened.
You Snap into it.
'cause you see what Ebony mabecame, you Snap into it'cause
you saw the Captain Marvel, TMAor the typhoid Mary.
And you have three more turns tonot just cook, but like super
(39:10):
cook, right?
You've got the potential ofthose that crazy upside of a red
skull with 15 power.
There's really almost like a redskull with dno Devil Dino's
power.
Or his thing.
There's just infinite scalersthat are laying winners that are
impossible to predict.
Now you could say the same thingabout Pixie, but all that is
happening within the deck andthis is within the hand and it
gives you so much more agency.
Alex (39:32):
You know what?
Cozy, I wanna say something.
Okay.
I don't wanna get off topic, butthis is a perfect example of
what makes me so nervous aboutthe star rankings because if I
want to play it safe, I wouldsay, oh, three stars or four
stars, whatever.
And I'm not quite sure whatever, but I'm gonna be so nervous for
the entire month.
Don't be nervous.
Screw, I gave this two stars.
Who cares?
No, because there's people thatdon't forgive these ratings,
(39:54):
right?
Whatever's
Cozy (39:54):
true.
It's a video game.
I know
Alex (39:56):
but for me, it's I.
I want to provide the mosthonest interpretation of this
card that I can.
And for me in my heart, I'mlike, you know what?
I'm gonna stick my neck out abit.
I do think that this ispotentially gonna underperform
people's expectations.
I can be absolutely wrong,right?
But it's moments like this that,it just makes me nervous, man.
You know why?
(40:16):
You know the feeling, right?
Nah, bro, I don't give, it justgets you nervous,
Cozy (40:19):
bro.
You gotta own it.
It is just, that's the fun partthough.
It's,'cause then you give powerto the neck beards out there the
internet typers, bro, you can'tgive the power to'em.
It just doesn't.
You are a YouTuber.
You've got that shield ofimmunity built up on you, man.
You gotta just not care whatpeople think and you die on that
hill that you thought it wasgonna be bad.
I think there's plenty of pointswhy this could be bad.
And I, and that's fine.
Alex (40:39):
I know.
That's why I wanna stick to myguns and stay two stars.
Cozy (40:43):
Good.
Do it man.
I do think nightmare though, inthose decks having a red skull
that can move like vision, blahblah blah.
I think that hulking as a six,as a final play was way too like
Last card.
Hail Mary.
This is a three that you couldcurve into.
I think he's dope.
Alright, so going on to our nextcard.
We have Lea now Lealea one, two.
(41:07):
Alex, when this permanentlygains power, add flames to ine
to your hand.
Definitely mess that name up.
Now if if this is if in yourhand or in play, so this is just
like Sebastian Shaw.
Now this beauty is gonna be aone cost skill card, zero power
of course, on Reveal.
Afflict an enemy card here withnegative three power.
(41:30):
A little bit of winds of ooreveal to it.
Alex, what do we feel about thiscard and what are your thoughts?
Alex (41:38):
I love it.
I think it's four, four and ahalf.
Like I think this is a verystrong card.
I think we're getting a lot ofsynergy with it, with all the
skills coming out.
I like the idea that you canbuffet in hand and on the board.
I think that the flames of Ty orwhatever is very powerful.
I think it was data mind atnegative two power.
So it's a one zero negativethree now, which is really
strong.
You're right, it's like wind ofwith tomb.
(41:59):
And I think the key thing aboutit too is that there's a couple
cards that I really like thatI've been playing that I think
will benefit this card.
Like honestly Kari, like I'vebeen one of the ones that I've
been, even though I was ho humon Kari, honestly in my review,
it's been a card.
I've been playing here and therewhenever possible Kari pumps
this card, right?
Get a couple flames in yourhand, stuff like that.
(42:19):
And I think that the onenegative three is really good.
I dunno man, I like this card.
I think it's potentially a verydecent scaler.
Cozy (42:26):
I like want to really like
this card.
Like I like it a lot.
And then I keep trying to thinkso this is one that I want to
give a high star rating.
I'm just trying to like, workout, play lines of how many
times.
So even if you get to do itonce, he's a, it's a it's a,
it's technically a two five,right?
If you get to pull it off once, plus the card that you're
buffing it up.
So this thing's gonna scale upwith it.
(42:48):
I think it's so close to beinggood.
I just, it's gonna be theperfect puzzle piece to a few
decks.
Like some of those scalingdecks.
It's gonna really be perfectthere.
Heck, maybe even in Surfer whereyou've got Sebastian and you're
doing that anyway and you'retrying to make that work, but
then, Sebastian gets off theSurfer mainly.
So how is this one gonna benefitfrom it?
But we've got cars that arecoming that are gonna give plus
(43:08):
power a ton.
That means this thing's alwaysgonna be able to continue to get
more cars to feed under it.
I think people are low on thiscard for how many times you can
get this thing to work for you,but it's gonna start adding up.
And I think you could get atleast a couple.
And because of that, I'm gonnagive it, I What did you get?
You gave it a four.
Alex (43:25):
I'm gonna say four.
Yeah.
Four.
Cozy (43:26):
Yeah.
Probably three and a half.
Say four.
I'm probably three and a halfhere.
But this could age into a fourbecause it does have cars that
will come out that continue toget back.
I, it, this is one of those thatlike when you look at Windwood
Tomb and what that did, it makesyou want to give this a much
higher rating because that wasjust such a, oh, like that card
(43:46):
was everywhere.
So it's is this the same?
Alex (43:49):
I think that the buffet
they gave to the negative three
power is pretty significant.
It just seems like it's probablygonna be good.
It's good.
It's just probably gonna begood.
And being as inexpensive as itis.
The only problem is it's thesame problem.
Sebastian Shaw had the cardsthat buff Other cards are
generally not great.
You're talking about ake Nikias, you're talking about Akos Khors
(44:10):
Iron Heart.
It needs permanent power.
It can't be hit by like thelarva.
It has to be permanent power.
And so there are a limitednumber of choices that provide
that.
Thankfully we do have somethinglike Galata, which obviously is
huge.
Cozy (44:23):
Yeah.
That not there cost moretypically.
That's the thing.
The ones that are good, theycost more.
Like Nico's really cool here.
I like Nico with this.
'cause it's like that's an easypotential role into it that you
get the plus one, you just putit right there.
But you're right, it is, it'slike, it's the same reason why
Scarlet Spider like fell flatback then.
We've gotten way more cardssince then.
But you're right, like the onesthat are good cost too much.
And then if you do go to this, what are you playing?
(44:44):
What are you trying to puttogether?
Alex (44:45):
If you're playing, even if
you za GED out on turn three,
like you're playing this on turnfour, it's like, why?
You know what I mean?
It's it's it's tricky.
So I agree.
That's the one challenge I seeis I think the card is good.
I think it's supporting staff isprobably not.
Cozy (45:00):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Alex (45:00):
I don't know, man.
Theoretically I don't know.
Will will FAOs work with it?
I'm not sure.
It has to be in hand or on fieldto play, not in deck.
Cozy (45:08):
Yeah.
Alex (45:09):
But also I think that it's
probably good.
I don't know.
I just think the effect's good.
Cozy (45:13):
So those are all the fives
except for one, Alex.
The one that people have beenwaiting for door Mamu or Mamu is
the car that when we used to getasked all the time, what card do
we want to come to Snap?
I constantly said, I want thisguy right here.
Seven costs, 10 power card game.
Start, beginning, begin asummoning ritual.
(45:33):
Add step one to your hand.
Alright, we got a lot to breakdown.
So let's go through it all thenwe'll talk about him as a main
card, right?
So step one, Alex zero zero onreview.
Merge your highest powerdestroyed card with door mamu.
To continue, you need to do theaction to continue.
And once you've done so, you getstep two.
(45:54):
Now, Alex, step two, you mightask what is what could step two
be?
Step one doesn't seem great.
I'm a little confused.
It's a seven 10.
Is this gonna be something thatyou want to play?
I don't know, Alex, but we go tostep two and we've got one zero
honor reveal Al who steals onepower from each card here to
continue.
So he is, he's the ever at.
(46:14):
This is such a cool card, bro.
What a, they cook so good here.
And then lastly, step three, honor, reveal, destroy two of
your characters here to summon,do Mamu.
So these are all the steps.
This is the ritual.
He is a seven 10 at the base.
Alex Kocha, I'm gonna hand youthe floor.
What do you think about the newbig bad.
Alex (46:32):
I think it looks super
cool.
I think that it has a chance tobring a lot of interesting cards
into the fold in the deck designstar rating.
I'm willing to go four starshere.
I think that I see thepotential, but it's also so
complex that like I'm not quiteready to like.
I don't know what my deck lookslike yet.
Cozy (46:51):
Yeah.
Alex (46:52):
You know what I mean?
I'm still building what thislooks like to like on turn six,
do I play Phoenix Force andElixir?
What am I doing?
Am I bringing the two cards thatgot destroyed back, get that
power where mom moves out, there's just power everywhere.
What do those decks look like?
I'm trying to answer thatquestion.
However, for me, this is like amust have card.
This is like the big bad.
(47:12):
You gotta have it even if it'snot good.
'cause even if it's not good,it's gonna be good.
Eventually you want it in yourcollection.
This is five star.
You get it in your collectionpower level.
Right now, in terms of what I'mseeing, I'm leaning towards the
four star range.
Cozy (47:23):
This is what gets me
pumped for having an audience.
I can't wait to see what theviewers say.
Double O like you could do this, and this.
'cause I do think that they cookthe cook for him.
The deck for him is not out.
It's not close to beingconceived.
No, this guy is gonna have avery, so like I wanted to give
him a five'cause he's a big bad,right?
Alioth came out swingingridiculous.
But Alioth works across theboard.
He is gonna be very.
(47:44):
Niche.
But that niche has got to begood.
It's got to be good.
So that's why I do think it'sgonna be a four.
I agree with you there.
I don't wanna give him a five.
I don't think he is worth afive.
How often and how well can youdo that?
And what can you pull together?
Like Phoenix four is a greatexample.
You can make multiple men flyingaround a billion power.
That's cool.
That's it's topping what is doormama who's topping, like what is
(48:05):
the reliable thing You can gethappening a lot.
And we've got a new way todestroy.
You have, what's cool too is bystep one, you're merging your
card tool.
It's not gonna be a lot ofpower.
'cause you want to get thesedone quick, right?
So it's like you're gonna beusing destroy cards like Nico or
Carnage or whatever to get thatdone.
And so you're trying to speedthrough some of this.
So what does that big picturelook like?
(48:26):
Like I, this is such afascinating card to me.
Alex (48:29):
It is, it's a super
fascinating card.
The problem that I'm trying tofigure out is, so you brought up
RA SRA was very clearly a highlycompetitive card.
It's design really lendedtowards competitive Snap.
The challenge with Dormammu isthat I can not yet determine
whether or not it's like acracked competitive card the way
(48:50):
Aham was, or if it is gonna be alegitimately solid fun card that
can potentially become a verycompetitive card with maybe, I
don't know, I'm not gonna say abuff.
I don't know if it needs a buff.
I just can't tell where it fallsin that line.
It's clearly a very fascinatingnew take on playing Snap.
(49:10):
But will it be competitive?
And what's I think fascinatingabout Snap Players is we all
want cards that are fun, butpeople also really like winning.
Winning tends to be fun.
I'm not sure how competitivethis is yet.
I almost just, I just need moretime
Cozy (49:23):
to, it feels like such an
MPG card.
Like it, like that's how itreads.
It feels like a commander cardor something.
Because first of all, step twois by far really strong.
Being able to steal all thatpower from just a lane is
awesome.
So you get to steal all thatpower.
Hell yeah.
Step three.
It's okay, destroy two of yourcharacters here.
Fine.
That might, you might want to dothat.
(49:44):
You might want to get rid ofBucky Barnes that you have in a
lane and something else, right?
Whatever.
Like you could set that up forsuccess or they can be cheap
things that you don't careabout.
I like the idea that he's like abunch of things packaged into
one and one of those things islike a ramp, like a cheat card.
Like you're cheating somethingbig out.
How easy is it gonna be cheatedout?
It could be very easy dude toget done.
It's a three costa to do that.
(50:05):
So it's gonna be a late playminimum, but I still think it's
this guy's got some strongpossibility.
Alex (50:11):
The thing that really
stands out to me from a design
standpoint that I really likeabout it is it feels like you
design its power.
'cause you're stealing power, you're taking on what you've
destroyed.
And so you're you're putting inwhat you're getting out.
And I think that's really cool.
It's not just oh, it's just whenyou summon it, I'm assuming it's
power's gonna be variabledepending on what you've done to
it, how much power you'vestolen, kinda like Laie does and
(50:32):
stuff like that.
I don't know, man.
I just I'm just excited to getmy hands on it.
Cozy (50:37):
And what I think is cool
is this is gonna add a lot to
destroy too, because you've gotlet's say death getting
cheapened by all this destroyhappening.
Okay?
So then you have death that youcould play on, let's say death
goes down to a three cost, right?
You put death down at three andthen you put this down at three
or five on turn five.
You're gonna be able to combotwo big cards being played or
multiple big cards being played.
(50:57):
That could all happen on,potentially even turn five into
six.
I, this seems like a new way toplay destroy that's not just
kill the big thing, getting oldto happen.
So that's gonna be its nichemost likely.
But then there's also gonna bedecks that are just having the
most random cards put together.
It's whatever you're gonnacombine this with to put big
door Mamu in one lane and thenwhatever else with the rest of
the energy you have in theother.
Alex (51:20):
It's also worth noting
that it is a new way to play
destroy, as you mentioned, because Deadpool Wolverine and,
X 23, those don't, they don'tget destroyed.
Those are regenerated in a way.
So if you're looking to playdestroy and destroy things, you
have to go a different route.
And I do find that fascinating.
So it is gonna carve out its ownniche and destroy for sure.
Cozy (51:40):
Yeah, so I, and there's
almost like that's the route to
go with it, like building upthose, how dependable can you
do?
It's another, it is a threecost, so you got like venom and
we have another way to cheapdestroy that's always nice to
have in the pocket.
Nico's always been good for thatchance, so you could steamroll
this really well and make thatwork.
Nico on one, destroyingsomething on two, and then
merging that the ritual isgoing, it's got some high upside
(52:03):
and the animations, are gonna befire.
And so I, I don't know man.
This is a fun one.
I'm excited.
I'm glad we know we're not bothat five, although, yeah, we just
have to see this could be like aclear obvious five than it
belongs in destroy, but thisone's definitely like way more
puzzling.
Alex (52:19):
Yeah, no it definitely is
a hundred percent.
It's again, we say it all thetime.
It's a card you gotta get yourhands on.
Cozy (52:23):
Next up is the series four
cards.
We have Jennifer, kale Jenniferis a two, two.
Tutu that activate next turn.
You get plus one energy.
So you got side lock a littlebit, but you can hold it on
reserve.
We've talked about this.
We were up and down on it whenwe saw our in the data mines.
Where are you at now?
Alex (52:40):
First of all, hearing you
say tutu this late at night was
funny.
I don't know why I laughed asmuch as I did, but it was really
funny to me.
Jennifer Kale, I'm coming in attwo stars.
I, we have a lot of ramp optionsand I don't think this is good
enough.
That's just my take
Cozy (52:52):
two.
Yeah, this is I like a two and ahalf.
I think there's cards you'dwanna play with this
potentially, but also I justdon't, I don't, I don't see it,
I don't see this as being like,I feel like she's gonna work in
that one deck and that onedeck's gonna be like a good
deck.
'cause I can be like, the decktwo and a half.
Alex (53:06):
You know what I was
thinking about?
It's like when I play ramp it's'cause I'm trying to get stuff
out fast.
Like I want like bigger stuffearlier.
Activates slow.
So already you're delaying, likeyou're delaying a turn because
of it.
And so yeah.
Oh, but Alex, you can get a sixtry.
Yes.
I understand that.
Like I understand theversatility side of it and
that's why it's set up the wayit is.
It just ramp, it seems likeActivate is counterintuitive to
(53:27):
what Ramp wants in some way.
In a six turn, seven turn MarvelSnap game.
And also, I've been playing alot of ramp, I've been playing
more ramp than most people.
I've been playing Luna SnowBaby.
And I actually think Luna Snowis totally underappreciated
right now.
I think Luna Snow's better thanJennifer Kale.
Straight up like I a three sixversus a two.
Two activate.
Three six with immediate, yeah.
(53:48):
Okay.
You're giving it to youropponent, but my deck is built
for it baby.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
I dunno.
I like Luna Snow better.
I've been playing a lot of LunaSnow.
Jennifer Kale just does notexcite me.
I don't like kale either.
Cozy (53:58):
Yeah.
I'm not a fan of vegetableseither.
Bam, roasted.
I agree.
Yep.
And there, there's a reason whythey're series four, right?
Like at the end of the day, thisis why they come out how they
are.
Nicholas Scratch.
We've been hinting at himtalking about him a lot today.
Let's show'em.
He's a one cost two power cardguys.
One, two.
After you play Skill plus OnePower, this is our scaler for
the Skiller.
(54:19):
And I think I think this guy'snaturally gonna work.
We're gonna eventually get adeck that's aka Moto him Merlin,
get things cooking, but alsobecause Merlin's gonna be so
dominant, he's just gonna fitright in.
He gets pretty high.
He gets to, you can get intoprobably like a one.
5 1 6.
Alex (54:35):
Yeah, he looks like he
hits the hookah.
But what I will say though ishonestly, yeah, you said he gets
high.
I had to do something.
Actually, I don't even know ifhookah gets you high.
I'm not even sure I've seen ahookah.
I'm not really sure what's init.
Nicholas scratch, I'm givingfour stars.
I do like Nicholas scratch alot, however, in my notes I say
four stars brackets in thefuture.
He is the prototypical.
(54:56):
I say it all the time.
Age like fine wine card.
This is a good card that's gonnaage well.
'cause every single card thatgets released in the future of
Marvel Snaps history will, likeevery skill card will benefit
from this.
Cozy (55:09):
Yeah.
Alex (55:10):
Nicholas Scratch will only
get better as more skill-based
stuff gets introduced to thegame.
He's a one-two scaler.
And think about how good TRO is.
RA's easier to activateadmittedly.
Yeah.
However this is tro for skills.
Cozy (55:23):
Yeah, I agree.
I think like at first he's meh.
But then like even from whatwe've done to the Fantastic four
season, come out the first stepseason and all those cards are
gonna get skills.
And I think skills is here tostay and it's here to last for a
while and he's gonna go frombeing like, ah, cool.
I got this car.
I could play him here.
Oh, he's, he sucks on release.
He's not that good.
True.
(55:43):
Like being the staple core ofDex down the line.
No question.
Alex (55:48):
Yeah.
And even think about Clea,right?
Clea adds a skill to your hand.
You play it, you're gettingnegative three power applied and
he gets plus one.
Yeah, it's like a one four forthat card, for that play.
It's honestly, I think NicholasScratch has a lot of potential.
I really like the card and forthe record, it's coming out as a
season series four card, whichobviously you mentioned, but
that's good because.
(56:09):
We've had ROC and now NicholasScratch two inexpensive scalers
at series four.
I appreciate that.
Yeah.
I think these, honestly thesecould have been series five
cards.
Yeah.
I from a power level
Cozy (56:19):
because you put, because
skill is here to stay, like
skill is almost kinda like onreveal ongoing kind of, if we
had an on reveal or ongoing oneone cost that would get plus one
power.
If you played an honor revealand there's a one two, right?
You would be able to get thatgoing pretty fast.
Obviously those are better, butlike that we'd be going crazy
for that Goliath, we werealready like, whoa, look what
Goliath could go up to.
I think that for a one cost, himbeing a one two is fascinating.
Alex (56:43):
Put it this way because of
like the design landscape around
a card like Morgan Lafe, whichhonestly I'm torn about, but
could be a good card, but Ithink it could under
underperform as well.
Nicholas Scratch comes out as aseries four'cause it's ability
is seven words or whatever.
I don't know.
It's like a very short Yeah.
Text box so it doesn't feel likea Series five card.
Doesn't mean it's gonna not begood.
(57:04):
Yep.
You know what I mean?
Think about like in, in a magicgathering, how good lightning
Bolt's.
A Beauty
Cozy (57:08):
Legion was series four
Legion was a series four when he
came out.
You never, you can't judge abook by its cover.
And I think for now he is aseries four, but he won't be as
we move on.
Next up we've got cards that wedefinitely have talked about
Plenty on the Snapchat kid Omegatwo two.
Did you
Alex (57:23):
star rating the I don't
think you star rated the, I gave
him a four scratch.
I gave'em a four.
Oh, you give him a four?
Okay.
I
Cozy (57:28):
missed
Alex (57:28):
it.
Cozy (57:28):
I like the four.
I definitely like the, the likeI believe he'll be a four
eventually too kind of thing, even if he's not right.
Release kid Omega two, twoactivate, destroy the next card.
You play this turn to gain itspower.
So clearly door mama, who'sgonna love this car that just
works very well into door, notmama.
And we need cheaper cards forhim to work better and better.
So that's great for that.
We have a elixir.
We've talked about this a lot.
Kid Omega, what do you think?
Alex (57:50):
I'm going 4.5 here.
I think it's a strong card.
I really do.
Especially for what's gonna behigh voltage overdrive
potentially free, freelyaccessible card.
I think it's legit.
I do.
And I think that in this case, activate is very strong.
'cause Activates gonna allow youto like, to stack the ordering
like you want.
Bro.
I don't, which I think is prettycool.
What did you
Cozy (58:09):
give him?
Alex (58:10):
4.5.
Cozy (58:11):
Okay.
Yeah, I almost gave him a five.
I'm glad you did.
4.5.
I think the ability to holdthat.
Think about what hell cow waswhen hell cow came out for
discard and we're like, whoa.
Good example.
Being able to hold that powerdestroy, can do so many good
things, and it can be usedearly.
So like you can use it early ifyou need to and get things
going.
Or you could do the crazy ni rodplay, right?
(58:32):
I like Kid Omega and I feel likeit's what would we give venom
these days?
Even though he is only indestroy, we'd still call Venom a
five star card or whatever,right?
So I think that's what I'd givethis guy.
Alex (58:44):
It's a good point.
It's gonna be very niche, but Ithink it's gonna be
irreplaceable in this niche.
Irreplaceable,
Cozy (58:49):
yep.
4.5.
I feel strong about that too.
We can line up together on that.
And then Alex the long return,we've all missed him.
He's back.
Two, three.
Cobra activate.
Alex (59:01):
Look at this Dweeb.
What a dumb ass.
Honestly, if you're gonna be asuperhero and you look like
this, just retire, dude.
What doing this
Cozy (59:08):
is what he gave up or even
everyone has gin.
One of their costume Spidermansdidn't slap right away.
He was like, he stitched ittogether.
Then he made something reallycool, pop Oprah.
He put this together and he isthis is the, look, I'm staying
with this one.
This is what I wanna do.
Alex (59:22):
You know what reminds me
of you remember, like it was in
the eighties or nineties wherepeople used to wear suits and
they would wear pads in theirshoulders to make them look
bigger.
Do you remember that?
Yeah.
The pads and the shoulders.
Oh, definitely.
It's he's yo, what if my K hadshoulder pads and I wore glass
like goggled?
He bought this on Etsy and Ilooked like an idiot.
He bought this on Etsy, butjacked at the same time.
Yeah,
Cozy (59:41):
for sure.
He definitely he did not put alot of love into this costume.
What's fun is if you remove oneword on this card, it's insane.
Activate switch.
He's a two three activateswitch.
One of your opponents createdcards here to your side.
Now, if that was just one ofyour opponent's cards here, hey,
what's the best card in thegame?
But he's not he's not great.
There's a lot of created cardsthough.
Alex (01:00:03):
Are you gonna cope that
hard?
Are we doing this?
Cozy (01:00:05):
I'm coping for Cobra.
Alex (01:00:07):
Give him, I'm saying two
stars.
And like even then, like I can,oh man, I wanna give him one,
but I'll give him two.
Cozy (01:00:13):
I'm gonna give him, nah,
I'm gonna give him one.
Alex (01:00:17):
I was just gonna say, I
didn't wanna give him two.
Man.
Can I say one card?
You're not playing because
Cozy (01:00:20):
here's the thing.
You have to play'em down.
You have to, so you're playingone too, but then your opponent
could just not play theircreative cards on that location.
Like I know.
It's so cringe, dude.
It's so bad.
It's stupid.
If it was an honor reveal, Iwould like him way better.
Way better.
Because you can save him forlate, but you can't even save
him for late because he'sinactivate.
Alex (01:00:38):
Yeah, I'm giving him one.
I can't do this.
I hear, I was gonna give him twoto give him the benefit of the
doubt.
I can't.
Cozy (01:00:42):
No.
He's a piece of, he's a piece ofgarbage, man.
I hate Cobra.
So outside of Cobra.
Lot of fascinating cards.
Tons of cards, man.
Man, we talked about a lot.
Let's rank'em.
Best card of the season is who?
Alex (01:00:55):
Oh man, this I've, it's so
funny.
I did this ranking list prior tous talking, and then after we
talk it's I almost wanna flip acouple, but I'm gonna stick to
what I had written.
Okay.
I have not done.
Number one for me is Merlin.
Cozy (01:01:04):
Merlin, a hundred percent.
Alex (01:01:06):
Number
Cozy (01:01:06):
two,
Alex (01:01:08):
I'm going with Kid Omega
number two.
Cozy (01:01:10):
Ooh, I like that.
Is it Nightmare Kid Omega, Ithink the staple ness of I'm
gonna go Nightmare.
Alex (01:01:17):
Ooh.
Okay, cool.
Cool.
Number three for me and thisman.
I don't know, I might be hottaking here.
I went with Clea.
Cozy (01:01:27):
Ooh yeah.
That, that that's higher than Iwould have it.
I am gonna go with an door malmove.
Oh man.
But I gave him a four.
I gave no Kid Omega.
Yeah, kid Omega.
Then that door mal move for me.
Alex (01:01:42):
After CLIA number four, I
went, Nicholas scratch.
Cozy (01:01:47):
Yo.
The disrespect on the door.
I know, man.
I don't know.
I'm nervous, man.
This is hard.
All right, so after dorm Mamu.
After dorm Mamu, I will go.
Yeah, I guess I'll go, Nick.
All right.
Because Ta Yeah.
I'll go Nick.
I'll go Nick.
Alex (01:02:02):
Number five for me is
dorm.
Mamu.
Cozy (01:02:05):
Five for me would be
Morgan.
I think Morgan Lafe four, seven.
Hold on, I'm gonna go.
I'm gonna go with Morgan.
Alex (01:02:15):
Yeah.
I feel like we're drafting solike here.
Cozy (01:02:18):
You know what I mean?
Like we're too, I know.
No.
Or like they can hear us likewe're like their family.
Alex (01:02:23):
I know.
I know.
Number six.
I go The ancient one.
Cozy (01:02:27):
Yeah.
Ancient one, man.
Three, five.
I was thinking about that statline.
It's so good.
You don't even have to use thething.
We could be sleeping on that oneHard.
Alex (01:02:37):
I can see the ancient one
being a mess.
The only thing that's
Cozy (01:02:39):
certified is that we're
just like two, a couple of dumb
asses on here.
This whole podcast.
Three, five.
Alex (01:02:44):
Always been
Cozy (01:02:45):
three five.
Yeah.
Ancient one.
And then CLA for me,
Alex (01:02:48):
so number seven, you have
cla.
Yeah.
Number seven for me isnightmare.
Cozy (01:02:54):
Okay.
Yeah, that's definitelydifferent.
And then the worst card of themonth, or sorry Jennifer Kale is
next.
Alex (01:03:01):
We still have three more
cards.
Cozy (01:03:03):
No, we have Cobra and
Jennifer Kale.
Alex (01:03:06):
I we're missing something
'cause I have not, so number
eight for me is Morgan Lafe.
Cozy (01:03:11):
I stuck in clay online
because I said the one.
Okay.
That's
Alex (01:03:14):
what clay is for you at
eight.
Cozy (01:03:15):
Wait.
Maybe.
Maybe I messed up.
Sorry, Morgan then ancient onethen Clay.
Alex (01:03:22):
Okay, that makes more
sense.
And then for me to finish atnine and 10, I do.
Jennifer Kale, Cobra lost.
Cozy (01:03:27):
Yeah.
Cobra is, yeah, kale and Cobrafor sure.
Kale.
Kale.
Like they're, it's like kale andthen cobra's not even on the
screen.
Alex (01:03:36):
Yeah.
So we're pretty much inagreement.
So Merlin, number one for sure.
I do agree.
And I, for the record, I can seethis being a five star card and
maybe it's good that it's not asbroken as Certa was.
Maybe it'll have a little moreplot armor, maybe it'll last,
maybe it won't get Nerf Cozy.
Maybe it's just busting.
Maybe it's gonna fly under theradar Just enough.
Fly close enough to the sun.
I think this has
Cozy (01:03:56):
oh, it's so cool.
Loki vibes.
Oh, this is so cool.
This is so fun.
And then give it like two daysand everyone's gonna hit it.
Alex (01:04:03):
You think it's that bad,
eh?
Okay.
We'll see, man.
Maybe you're right.
I don't think it's that bad, butmaybe it is.
Cozy (01:04:09):
This could be a fun
season, regardless.
There's so many fun cars thisseason and there's something for
everybody.
Yeah.
If you like destroy, if you likerandomness, if you like, there's
crazy stuff with the ancientone.
There's seriously a deck foreverybody.
Alex (01:04:23):
I have to say from second
dinner standpoint, they really
cooked this season.
They did these are a lot of wellthought out designs that even if
they're not good, you can tell alot of heart went into the
design did and I appreciate that
Cozy (01:04:36):
it cooked hard.
Alex (01:04:37):
Cozy.
It's one of those ones whereman, we just did a marathon
session on the opening.
I was gonna say half, what do wecall it?
The, what is it called?
That like an orchestra plays thefirst set of the Snap, dude, I
don't know, but there's
Cozy (01:04:48):
20 cards that came out,
and we were not, we were like,
oh, we had a lot of familystuff.
We're like, we'll do this alittle bit of a later one, but
then there's.
An hour and a half with carddiscussions and that was without
even diving into the cards asdeep as we could.
That could have been like a fivehour podcast.
And now we're here.
Now we end up here.
We're here together in themiddle of the night.
(01:05:08):
Just two guys hanging out.
Alex (01:05:11):
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know what, I gotta tell you,it's fun because despite that,
we had a great discussion andI'm looking forward to
continuing here because althoughthe cards that are coming out
this month.
Including Merlin and the othersdo look incredible.
The cars that came out this pastmonth, we do have to discuss
because you know what?
Listen, if you don't have'emall, you're gonna be hitting
them in your spotlight.
(01:05:32):
I was gonna say spotlight Cashs.
You're gonna be hitting them inyour Snap packs.
You're gonna be hitting them byaccident sometimes.
And so as a result, what we'regonna have to do here is we're
gonna have to go through whatare good, what is bad, and we
start with Esme.
Cuckoo Asme Cuckoo Cozy was acard that came out in Marvel
Snap as the season pass card.
And you know what?
Cozy, this is one that was notnecessarily pay to win because
you didn't win all that muchwith it.
(01:05:53):
It really underperformed likemany of these cards did on
aggregate.
It ran a 47% win rate at a 10%meta popularity.
Now some of the decks and someof the stats are so bad we are
using untapped statistics.
By the way, infinite only, thatI'm gonna focus on some of the
best decks that it was in, andthose best decks were generally
(01:06:14):
running a 52% win rate, whichhonestly is not.
Enough.
It's not very high.
Does Esme get buffed?
Cozy (01:06:23):
I think so.
I bro, when you compare herversus Merlin, it is crazy like
those two cars are.
And we get that every now andthen.
We get like a bad season pa nota bad, but like eh, and then it
gets a lot better.
She's tough to yeah I can seeit.
I could see it happening.
The OTAs have been that's it.
(01:06:44):
It's own conversation here in asecond.
But yeah, like I, to me this isone of those cards.
It's as we move forward, it justswept just be swept under the
win.
Yeah.
That's what I sum it up to
Alex (01:06:57):
for what it's worth in my
play experience with it.
I actually didn't mind the card.
The more I played ads made, themore I actually thought it was
not too bad.
But what I'll say though isCozy, you and I star ratings
wise, we came in at I came in atfour.
It's, you ready for this?
Cozy.
Did I keep in at five?
You came in higher.
No, you didn't give a five.
You didn't give a five, four anda half.
You came in at Cozy.
(01:07:18):
What do you think?
Cozy (01:07:19):
Yeah, I think I was wrong.
I think I was cuckoo for thatevaluation.
I always just try to give it thebenefit of the season passed
out, right?
There's no way.
There's no way.
And I think four and a half's alittle high.
I think it's a smidge high.
I miss it's
Alex (01:07:34):
Snoop Dogg high buddy.
Cozy (01:07:36):
It's, what do you give it
now?
Alex (01:07:38):
I gave a four too.
I'm back to, what do you give itnow?
What do you give it now though?
Cozy (01:07:41):
Whatcha you giving it now?
Alex (01:07:43):
You know what I mean?
It's started like a two, onealmost, but for me it feels like
a three.
Like I feel like it's betterthan 47%.
I didn't think, like that's justthe way I've played it.
Cozy (01:07:54):
That's fair.
I think it's like a three, fourand a half Goodness Cozy.
Alex (01:07:58):
But you know what though?
It's like I gotta give, gottabe.
Give him credit man.
Like it's a season pass card.
They didn't jack it up likecrazy.
I would love to see Glen's takeon it honestly, like what he
actually thinks.
Retrospectively, I think thiswill get buffed to three five,
no problem.
Like it'll just get, be buffedto three five probably.
But however, I think part ofit's the lore'cause they want
them to be three-fourths.
'cause white queen isthree-four, it creates a
(01:08:19):
three-four.
They're all clones.
White queen buff to three fiveguaranteed.
Upcoming.
Now the next card though, Cozy.
Cozy Snap.
It's time for you to do a littleflex.
I hope you've done somestretching.
'cause sir, you gave this card afive star.
It's surge.
You gave it a five star.
Your boy Alex came in lower, came in at a four star, despite
(01:08:41):
the fact that I said that it wasmy favorite card of the month.
I had questions about itsplayability and boy was I wrong.
Yeah, because this card ispretty much everywhere at a 34%
play rate.
Cozy 34.
34%.
However, it's win rate onaggregate hovers between 50 and
51.
Not as high as you would expect.
However, some of the bestperforming shells, including you
(01:09:02):
mentioned on the pod we got theScarlet got a scarlet spider
version that's running like a 5250 3% win rate.
We have some other versions withPetroc running about 54%, and we
also have some toxic versionswith Ajax running almost 55%.
So there's some shells.
At the top end running almost55% with Surge.
How's your experience been?
Cozy (01:09:19):
Yeah, it's it landed
exactly where I thought, and I
wanna say the reason the winrate is so low is it is gotta
be, dude, 34% of popularity.
That's a lot of people playingthis card, man.
Yeah.
Seeing it everywhere, I think Isaid whenever it came out that
the, it's not how we playedSnap, but it's how we're gonna
play Snap.
And I think that evolved superwell and Surge just feels.
(01:09:40):
I be, again, we said thisalready on my side, but feels
like a magic card in the senselike, I just the, I like, I want
more cards like her that allowthis kind of it's a new way to
play, but it that fit the gameperfectly.
I.
Alex (01:09:51):
You know what I liked
about Surge, and I think I
figured it out.
I was playing Surge, and firstof all I love the card.
I think it's great.
I think everyone should have it.
It's phenomenal.
Not just from a playperspective, like power-wise.
I think it's just fun.
I think it's just a good card.
I was like, what makes this cardfun?
And I think it's the same reasonwhy I refuse to go to a casino.
I.
It's like surge is the one armbandit ding, pull, because you
(01:10:12):
hit the surge, it goes boom.
And you're like, baby, what am Igetting next?
What's coming?
What got buffed?
And I don't know if you feelthat, but I'm like, bro, what
did I pull?
What got hit?
And it's exciting.
It's the ding.
It's the arm, it's the ju it'sthe ju it's the
Cozy (01:10:25):
jubilee effect.
Yeah.
It's getting, even if it's notthe best, it's just fun.
It's just fun.
You said it perfectly.
It's just fun.
Even if it's not the best thingto do.
It's fun.
Alex (01:10:35):
Yeah.
And honestly for that reason Iget a full recommendation of
this card.
I love Surge.
Yeah, I think everyone shouldhave it worth the tokens.
Forget about the win rate.
It's just a fun damn card.
Obviously it does not excellater in the game.
Sometimes you hit things thatyou don't wanna play yet.
There's all those things, butthe card is good and it's
definitely worth having.
Cozy.
You got the five right there, inmy opinion.
I was four.
Maybe from a win rateperspective, like four is
(01:10:57):
probably fair, but it isdefinitely a five star.
I think you have to add 30, but
Cozy (01:11:00):
when was the last 30%?
Play rate card.
That's high bro.
Alex (01:11:04):
Last time we had a card
that high was probably Doom.
2099.
Cozy (01:11:07):
Yeah,
Alex (01:11:09):
but I think Doom 29 9 was
better than search from like it
was from a win rate side forsure, but it wasn't nearly as
fun.
No Search is a better card.
It's a better Marvel Snap card.
Cozy (01:11:19):
Yeah,
Alex (01:11:20):
doom 2099 was a better
competitive card, but Marvel
Snap, but man.
This game.
I think really it pulls ouremotions in with the snapping
and stuff and that's why Surgeis so great.
I think it hooks our emotions ina way that a Doom 29 9 doesn't.
Who cares about the extra threepoints percent win rate on Doom?
29 nines release.
Yeah, it was good, but Surge.
(01:11:40):
You feel it, man.
You feel it.
You know what I mean?
Dude I feel like I'm, like, I'maddicted to surge.
I say, I feel
Cozy (01:11:46):
I wish I felt your surge
of energy right now.
That's I need that, gimme someof that.
Alex (01:11:50):
But it's literally the
next day right now.
Like I gotta go to work in a fewhours.
So I gotta get hyped up somehowas well.
Just go through
Cozy (01:11:56):
the whole night, just fall
asleep on my desk, just put some
expedition, watch inception, getall that to-do list done, and
then you'll be good to go.
You'll just like, dude, don'tyou hate that?
Have you been in those positionsin life where it's I can sleep
and get two hours of sleep?
Boy, just rock and roll thewhole thing.
I hate that decision.
Alex (01:12:14):
I've had the thought so
many times where I'm like, if I
go to sleep, I'll be more tiredthan if I just don't.
Cozy (01:12:22):
No, it's true.
And my wife's
Alex (01:12:22):
that's not a good plan,
Alex.
She's you have no, andscientifically it's, I'm like,
Cozy (01:12:25):
it's Cozy.
Wrong, scientifically.
It's just wrong too.
Alex (01:12:28):
My wife has actually
floated the idea of moving to
California, so you and I can beon the same time zone.
Come on over.
Cozy (01:12:36):
At least come to it's
buddy.
You could say in Canada.
Just go to Vancouver.
Alex (01:12:41):
Vancouver.
Van Vancouver's way tooexpensive.
So San Diego.
Yeah.
I'm stuck here.
Aren't I?
Just San Diego?
I'm stuck.
Diegos not
Cozy (01:12:47):
any better buddy.
Not any better.
Oh man.
Do you know
Alex (01:12:50):
what's better than?
Actually, you know what's notany better than San Diego?
Cozy (01:12:54):
What
Alex (01:12:55):
Prodigy?
Proje.
We came in low on Pro.
And you know what?
I gotta tell you, I think I didproje a little dirty.
I don't think it's a great card,but I had more fun than I
expected with Proje.
I was like, you know what?
What'd you give him?
Too bad.
I gave him a two stars.
You started at two and a halfand I talked you down at two.
Damn man.
From what it's worth, I wouldn'tsay damn Cozy.
(01:13:16):
I like because the stats aredisgusting.
Cozy (01:13:19):
Yeah.
But I give about two and a half.
Alex (01:13:21):
Win rate Cozy.
Do you want to take a guess?
Untapped 42.
Oh buddy.
That's what an incredible get.
43.2%, 43 point.
The stats are disgusting.
The card sucks even its bestdecks.
The best deck available to itright now is a Silver Surfer
deck running 51.9% win rate.
Cozy (01:13:44):
We got a lot of heat on
that one too, for not liking
that card.
Yeah, I know,
Alex (01:13:49):
and I played some decks
with it.
I played actually pro, I playedPetri with it.
I didn't mind it.
I think it had potential, and Ithink it's being carried right
now by very good ongoing shells.
It's being placed in ongoingdecks where like all it can do
is win.
Like it's just the ongoingeffects are very strong and
project copy those, but that'snaturally hate.
That's what project should bedoing, i, the card felt
lackluster for the same reasonswhy a forecasted.
(01:14:13):
What's her name?
What?
Peggy?
Peggy Carter.
Why am I forgetting her actualname?
Captain Carter.
Captain Carter.
It's Captain Carter.
The reason why Captain Carterwas awkward.
It's the positioning.
So why are you laughing?
Her name's Peggy.
No, it is Peggy.
Cozy (01:14:23):
But I didn't know we were
on a first name basis.
And I also love you.
What's Peggy Carter's firstname?
What is yeah, no, it's, no,it's, I Can I turn my lights
down a little bit?
We're live.
We're live.
Can I turn my lights down?
Yeah, we're gonna guys, we'regonna, we're gonna, oh, that's a
little.
That's a little dark.
I think that's too dark.
Is this too much?
Let me see.
Let me let me match you a littlebit.
Oh, this is nice.
(01:14:44):
I can.
I'm staying here.
So this is
Alex (01:14:45):
just my key light.
This is all my lights.
Oh, that's off.
Cozy (01:14:48):
This is, I've got, man, my
setup's weird.
I got two key lights and then Igot a big old light that's on
right now.
A diffuser, and then ceilinglights on.
'cause I don't know why I digthis lighting though.
I actually like this.
My eyes feel way better too.
Alex (01:15:02):
Your lighting looks way
better than mine.
And I look super red like Thanosagain.
Cozy (01:15:06):
Nah, you look great.
Alex (01:15:07):
Or do I just always look
like Anos?
I don't know.
But yeah, prodigy sucks.
It's unfortunate.
I do think that Prodigy mightget better someday, though.
I have hope for Prodigy.
You know what I mean?
Cozy (01:15:15):
Yeah,
Alex (01:15:15):
I Does that make sense?
Cozy (01:15:16):
I think, yeah, I, not a
lot of hope, but there's hope.
A little bit of hope.
Alex (01:15:21):
A little bit of Coke, a
little bit of hope, little bit
of unlike Elixir, who's justabsolute dog shit.
And it's unfortunate becauselike with Elixir, we do have
cards coming out.
Here's the thing about Elixirand you called it, we talked
about it.
It's like Elixir.
At the time this car was so bad.
Do you want to guess it's winrate still in the forties?
Cozy (01:15:38):
Yeah, I was just gonna say
46,
Alex (01:15:41):
40, 40.
You know what I was gonna, sorry, there's no continuation
to that number.
Just the 40.
Cozy (01:15:51):
Oh God, that's, it's just
weird that Kid Omega came out so
much later.
Like I don't, what were theydoing?
What?
What was happening there?
Alex (01:15:59):
I think that Elixir with
Kid Omega is notable.
I think that Elixir with Duam isnotable.
I think they released this cardat the wrong time.
It's just that simple.
It came out at the wrong time.
Yeah.
Elixir is probably gonna be acard you're gonna find in Al
Deck.
Probably gonna be a card youfind in some sort of mirage
shell with, kid Omega orwhatever it's gonna happen.
(01:16:21):
But on release this card wasprobably one of the absolute
worst cards I ever played inMarvel Snap.
Cozy (01:16:26):
It was bad it
Alex (01:16:28):
really bad.
Cozy (01:16:28):
We had a bad, a few bad
weeks.
Like we knew prodigy was gonnabe, pretty mid.
And then we had this guy, he waslooking gloomy and he somehow
exceeded our expectations.
I, but yeah, kid Omega does itdrastically make him better?
Alex (01:16:41):
I think.
I don't know man.
I think kid Omega's really goodand I think that, does it make
it worth playing elixir though?
Like the elixir ever?
Probably.
Honestly, I think the first kidOmega deck will probably have
Elix.
You don't play so
Cozy (01:16:53):
many cars though.
Alex (01:16:54):
It is true.
That's actually, that's aconversation for another day.
The fact that with more cards,we got 10 cards coming out this
month with more cards coming outin Snap.
It's like this 12 card declimit, like it squeezes cards,
man.
It squeezes the designlandscape.
You can't just.
Throw whatever in there anymore.
It just doesn't work that way.
Like they have to earn theirspot or, and then you get the
(01:17:15):
power creep situation and that'sanother cringe Snapchat
thumbnail.
You know what I mean?
It's like we gotta it is just alot going on man.
It's a lot of cards coming out,but elixir.
Probably would've been betterserved in another month.
I think it's the wrong card atthe wrong time.
I think it's a good example ofwhy the ordering of cards is
important in their releaseschedule, and perhaps they
learned that lesson.
But I don't wanna talk aboutlicks anymore.
(01:17:36):
We didn't wanna talk about itwhen we reviewed it and then,
and now we don't wanna talkabout it.
Now we do have Zorn that cameout though.
Zorn came out a little moreexcited about that.
Cozy, you came in at 3.5.
It has a 47% win rate.
Cozy.
Do you wanna defend yourself?
You
Cozy (01:17:50):
didn't like him?
I like Zorn.
I gave him a two, still gave hima two.
I like Zorn.
I do, I feel like he will.
He'll age.
He'll age.
I think three.
I'm gonna stick with a three.
I
Alex (01:18:02):
am going to cast doubt on
him.
Aging well.
Cozy (01:18:05):
Are they stopping?
The reason fours, those aren'tcoming out anymore.
Alex (01:18:10):
No, they just, no, they're
done.
They're done with that Nickla,Nicholas Scratch is gonna take
over.
No, that's not the case.
I do see what you're saying, like the disruption side.
I can definitely see them beinglike, yo, he's a three, he's a
two, three now.
He actually throws fives now, orhe throws twos now, or whatever.
Or there's a three, a four.
Cozy (01:18:27):
There's another vulture
that comes out like that helps
dramatically.
Alex (01:18:31):
That's the other side too.
I think that him and Topaz areoccupying too much of the same
lane.
It's like the identities are tooclose and so I wonder about
that.
His popularity was 8% win rateat 47% negative cube rate.
Top performing shell wasliterally him slammed and met a
scream at 40 54%, but a veryweak cube rate of only 0.15.
(01:18:51):
So basically yes, he got carriedby the scream, scream deck, that
whole archetype.
Other decks were, I had a listthat was like running like a 50,
51% win rate with slightlypositive cubes.
It just did not, it didn'tshake.
Didn't shake.
Now what I will say though is II did make a deck with Redwing
and stuff like that.
It was really fun playing RedWing.
It was fun, fun.
And I also played no turns inthat deck too.
Cozy (01:19:12):
I kept telling myself
there was gonna be a super Coke
with a red Wing, though.
That was like wildly consistent.
Wildly good and just fun, cheat.
But it was fun.
I think he checked the rightboxes for me.
Alex (01:19:25):
He did check the right
boxes.
And maybe in the future, maybein the future he'll impress, but
ultimately Cozy.
Zorn right now is definitelyfeeling a bit of a skip at a 47%
win rate.
However.
We did get some surprise Seriesfour cards dropped.
Those cards came out ofabsolutely nowhere.
We had no idea that they werecoming.
We had, we didn't even star ratethem.
We didn't star rate them becausewe didn't know they were coming.
(01:19:46):
These cards here are Roc, theLeaper fan.
Faye and Topaz.
That was this month.
We did, that was this month, dude, that was this month.
They surprise drop on the seasonreveal.
Oh yeah.
Cozy (01:19:56):
Very beginning.
Yeah.
Alex (01:19:57):
Yeah, we spoke about him
last week actually, which is
funny.
We, because we, again, this ishow forgettable that whole
situation was to some degree, but quickly to recap stats wise
but Roc the Leaper is running awell as of recording a flat,
exact 50% win rate at 8%popularity with some of the top
shells, like scream running a55.6% win rate, and then another
(01:20:19):
version running a 54% win rate.
Petroc De Leaper honestly hasbeen a tremendous, I love scaler
at One Drop, and hon, it'sprobably one of the absolute
best cards released this month, despite being a Series four
card.
Cozy (01:20:32):
Yeah, I agree.
I think, I think he's what gaveNicholas scratch our hope that
we had for him because it justshows like s scalers at that
level, at one cost we've alwaysliked, and if it's just
naturally works with what you'retrying to do anyway, which in
Nicholas Scratch's case wasskill cards.
Obviously movement move is movehas needed something like this
that wasn't all in like humantorch.
(01:20:53):
I love it.
Alex (01:20:54):
I honestly was thinking
about like how much I like one
drop scalers things likesunspots, nebula.
I don't care what their poweris.
I like the idea they come downearly and they have this very
consistent impact on the game.
Like they have this, they have afeel that whole game.
And I like that, like Petroc.
You see him moving around theentire time.
You see the number gettinghigher.
He's vulnerable to kill monger.
(01:21:16):
He's vulnerable to.
Shadow King or whatever, right?
But they have this veryconsistent impact on the game.
And it feels fun.
It feels fun, and so I do reallylike the card, unlike fan Fay
who came out as an absolutetrash tier card of 41% win rate
on fan Fay, seeing almost lessthan 1% win play rate.
Sorry.
(01:21:36):
What are your thoughts on fanFay?
Cozy (01:21:38):
My thoughts are we summed
her up in five seconds on my
side last time, and that's aboutwhat I'm willing to give her
now.
It just occurred, I'm not gonnaplay.
Alex (01:21:45):
Yeah, I agree.
It just, the effect's not strongenough on, she feels like
stagger
Cozy (01:21:49):
on when stagger on was
bad.
Alex (01:21:52):
Yeah, I can see that too.
It just doesn't, it doesn't doenough.
And would it be better if wemoved the entire board or is
that just too strong?
Is that just literally reverseHy Doll?
Yeah, I think it was last timeto be.
Cozy (01:22:01):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't think you could do that.
Alex (01:22:03):
Yeah.
But anyways, fan fee's, adefinite miss on four, A 41% win
rate.
All the top performing, move.
Shells are not playing fan Fay.
They actually they're notplaying topaz either, which is
unfortunate despite the fact, the idea that Topaz is a better
car than fan Fay, it's running avery similar win rate according
to Untapped at 41%.
It's its popularity is only 2%.
Though this though, I feel likeTopaz is probably being somewhat
(01:22:25):
disrespected, although clearly Ithink it can, it's a three,
four, probably can go up to athree five.
But yeah.
These cards.
Batra is definitely the leaderhere.
It's definitely the one thatlanded the best.
But unfortunately with the waythe seasonal series four cards
are gonna be working, let's sayyou didn't roll them, you have
fan Fay and to pass sitting inthere you still are gonna be in
(01:22:45):
a situation.
You're like I want Nicholasscratch.
What do I do?
I don't want fan Faye.
Cozy (01:22:50):
Yeah, I guess I mean that
she's like the one, she's like
one of the few bombs in there, right?
Like you just have to.
Yeah.
That's gonna happen.
Yeah.
'cause I feel like, yeah, butChuck, I'll, I play, I would
play he, he'll be in any kind ofmove, cook moving forward for
me.
Topaz, sprinkle in when I want alittle bit of extra like core
move feel rather than what mightbe all the time.
(01:23:12):
Meta and fan Fay.
I just don't know.
I just would, there's just notan instance.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm just not, I'm not playingher.
I haven't cooked a deck with hereither.
It's rough since we even came.
Alex (01:23:24):
Yeah, it's really rough.
But long story short, Cozy.
Let's talk about the finalrankings that we provided here.
Those are our rough takes there.
Last week we did discussrankings of the series four
'cause we didn't do themformally.
I think we can both agree seriesfour Ys, petroc, the Leaper
Topaz, then fan fay.
But we did formally rank theother cards for the season.
(01:23:44):
Cozy.
I think I gotta give you the dubhere.
And it's simply because yourrankings were surge at number
one, Esme and number two, Zornat number three.
Prodigy at number four, elixirnumber five.
I think that's perfect.
I think that's exactly how itlanded.
I think you literally got itperfect.
(01:24:05):
Maybe Prodigy Zorn, maybe youcould argue that.
Really?
Okay.
Because your boy Alex went Esmenumber one.
Surge number two right away.
Boom.
Wrong.
It's just wrong.
Alex is wrong.
Prodigy number three.
Zorn number four.
Elixir Number five.
I would say that maybe Prodigylikely is better than Zorn.
I would take Prodigy over Zorn, but you can't, you cannot argue
(01:24:27):
as May over surge.
That's just a total wh Cozy winsOn the rankings of this prior
month,
Cozy (01:24:33):
do you think we could make
money by making microphone,
pillow pillows?
So it goes over your microphone.
When I came back I used therestroom between our takes here
and I saw Alex, he was using hisas a pillow.
And I tend to do that the laterwe get.
Do you think there's a marketyou think Yeah.
Do you think Steve, do you thinkI was gonna say Steve job, do
you think like Tim Cook wouldbuy it?
Alex (01:24:54):
The mic pillow.
The mic pillow.
So when you fall asleep whilestreaming or while recording
podcast, you just put your faceinto it.
Call
Cozy (01:25:01):
it my mic.
Mic.
Sleep.
Sleep.
Phone.
Sleep.
We're working on the branding.
Alex (01:25:06):
Yeah.
I like the idea.
But I think you need the mark, the mic arm too.
'cause you need something tosupport your, if you can just
get it to just like
Cozy (01:25:13):
very, the sound that made,
if you could just like echo that
sound.
It was perfect.
It's a niche market.
It's a niche market.
I'm cooking up the idea.
You gotta work on past thecrater.
What am I gonna do past this?
My pillow?
Just saying.
Yeah, moving on.
Alex (01:25:27):
We're way too cooked for
this podcast right now.
Cool.
So let's jump to the Snapchatmailbag.
Guys we're so gassed.
We're, wait, we got the ota.
We gotta say that.
There's an OTA to talk about.
That's right.
We did gotta talk about the OTA.
I don't even know what I'mtalking about anymore.
Okay.
The OTA Cozy Snap.
I was like, wait
Cozy (01:25:43):
dude, I love that you call
me Cozy Snap.
Like my full legal name.
Like you're the only person thatcalls me Cozy Snap.
Alex (01:25:49):
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, I, I do apologize forme, sir.
Sir.
Snap.
No.
Let's talk about the OTA.
I
Cozy (01:25:55):
love that you're ready for
the Snap.
I OTA.
What was the biggest We could, what was the biggest?
Wow.
Alex (01:26:03):
First of all, we didn't
have OTAs for a while.
Yes.
And that was, I don't know, manI liked the idea that the meta
felt.
There's always room forimprovement, but I was like, you
know what?
I'm just, I'm playing some surf.
I enjoyed playing what I wantedto play.
One of the things that wears onme sometimes is I feel like I'm
being shoehorned to playing aspecific type of thing on the
(01:26:24):
weekend.
I, on Tuesdays, I gotta play thebrand new card, whether it's
sucks or not.
I gotta there's, I always haveto play something in Marvels.
I always gotta play a veryspecific thing.
And then, so when this, wedidn't have OTAs and stuff, it
was like, you know what, man?
I'm just.
I'm just gonna play.
I'm just gonna enjoy snapping.
For that reason, I actually hada lot more fun than usual.
Okay.
And then they're like, okayguys, let's take a look at the
(01:26:45):
cards that Alex enjoys.
Let's actually just spank thecrap out of them, because why?
What do we do?
Oh, what are some cards that areseeing play that we can just
destroy for no reason?
I don't want to, I can't believeI'm gonna defend Macari here.
Macari going from a three fourto a three three blew my
frigging mind.
Yeah, that was because I don'teven think Macari is that good.
A hot It was a hot, I reallydon't think it's that good.
It's just good.
But Nerf macari must be one ofthe, like the most I read like
(01:27:09):
Nervy, Macari is being soheavily dedicated to the stats
of stuff.
That like you're not seeing theforest through the trees, in my
opinion.
It's like macari.
We're nerfing macari.
It's like the car saw literallyzero play.
It's zero play until the momentit saw play.
It's like the worst thing thatcan happen to a Marvel Snap car
is it finally gets played.
(01:27:31):
You, yeah.
Cozy (01:27:31):
Dude I like, we've gotten
batch notes before when we like,
we will get'em a day early,whatever.
And we've gotten them where likethey accidentally put something
in there and that's not gonna bein there.
Man, that was, we tested thatone out.
I swear.
I thought, I was like, there'sno shot.
There's no shot.
I did think it was cool.
It was a dubs to get storm.
(01:27:51):
We were just talking storm lastweek.
In fact we were talking Stormand so on with two cards brought
up last week in length on theSnapchat.
And both those got touched and Ithought that they fix, here's
the deal, they got rid of mycard, but at least they gave us
Oxia two, three.
Alex (01:28:06):
Yeah, I don't wanna talk
about that.
Screw taxi.
Doxy.
I'm glad they gave a storm backthough.
Storm as a three.
Cost is legit.
I'm glad it's back.
Cozy (01:28:12):
If you had to play with
one card in your deck for the
rest of the time it was Cobra orToxic Doxy, who are you doing?
Why do
Alex (01:28:19):
you guys do
Cozy (01:28:19):
this?
I need to know.
It's for science.
I was just delete the game.
Is it uninstall?
I would delete the game and thechannel
Alex (01:28:26):
and I would play called
Penguin.
Cozy (01:28:31):
Get on scape.
It is a great job.
I would just
Alex (01:28:33):
play with a tamagotchi,
put a little, get enough
batteries to keep thatTamagotchi alive.
Sorry.
Now would discipline the crap.
Discipline.
Discipline.
Cozy (01:28:40):
Hey, what do you think
about bro, imagine if someone
was like, Hey, I have a cup ofcoffee.
Hey, I used to like playingThanos when he came out.
Will you walk me through all ofhis changes and like when they
happened and what happened tohim, bro?
How many 17 changes?
Alex (01:28:56):
I don't know, man.
I, you have the memory for thatyou know exactly which season
with which cards.
Thanos, I can't track anymore.
I don't know, but I will tellyou that the time Stone Nerf, I
think is very significant.
Taking the draw off the stonesis huge.
Cozy (01:29:08):
That's always like a ma
that's always their, it's huge.
That's their whole we don't wantThanos anymore.
Like when they do the, they getrid of the draw.
That's when they're like, Nope,you're done.
Alex (01:29:17):
Yeah.
And it's gonna hurt.
I think the hazmat change wasweird.
It was like one of those Heyguys.
Like I know like affliction issgood and it's always like in the
top ranges, but like you'retalking about like a card that
has a two and a half play rate.
What are we doing?
Like we, we got a Nerf got herNerf hazmat, and that's been a
day, do we really have to Nerf
Cozy (01:29:33):
hazmat?
That's been a day one stapletoo.
That's always been a two cause.
So it's just weird.
I will say I'm pro cerebralchanges.
They've been having some funwith those.
They've been doing some crazystuff.
Alex (01:29:43):
Do you know what the
challenge is?
I like what they did withCerebro, but if you really want
cerebral playable, you have tochill at these frigging
locations.
They gotta stop releasinglocations like we're done.
Like when they talk about locain the comment section, how many
of you dream that snappedtrailers that they're doing like
with Ben, bro?
No.
Honestly, he crushed it, bro.
How many of you're like, bro, Ican't wait to see the new
locations they're adding to thegame?
Cozy (01:30:04):
No, bro.
It was so quick this time thatthey literally just showed'em as
posters on the wall and theydidn't even address them.
I'm pretty sure
Alex (01:30:11):
people would cheer more if
they didn't release new
locations and they got rid ofthem.
Instead, announce that you'regetting rid of shit ass
location.
I gotta stop swearing, announcethat they're gonna get rid of
locations and people will behappier.
Cozy (01:30:25):
Yeah.
Honestly they just they'rereally strong and good, but they
just come out at too fast of arate and is the, yeah, the very
simple.
Alex (01:30:33):
Alright, I'm tired and I'm
angry.
You guys wanna hear an actualhot day about the OTA?
Yeah.
Hit me.
I think the Dr.
Strange nerve is a skill issuebecause that card was
susceptible to so many differentthings, including Shachi.
You could hit it with ShadowKing, you could Killmonger the
stones.
Cozy (01:30:50):
Yeah.
But do you think two ones arereally gonna do that much?
But
Alex (01:30:53):
no, I they, first of all,
they hit him from that
standpoint.
They hit the shield.
They hit the time stone.
They hit the whole archetype.
But I'm just saying the numberof times that I just punched
out.
That card was just so often, like I knocked that card out.
I starved it of Stones, bro.
I like, it made me wonder if youknow what guys like, so
(01:31:13):
situations about, we have thetools to answer the problem, we
just don't answer it.
Cozy (01:31:17):
It's usually whatever's
complained about the most.
So I have an idea, okay, we'vegot some following on Snap.
We need to pick a random cardand get some discourse going.
You know what I mean?
Just like we pick a card random, like where I know some random's
already been done, but we dosomething else, and we like, we
just test our theory.
We're like, go to Twitter, justcomplain aimlessly like you're
losing.
Confuse them and let's just seeif it gets nerfed.
(01:31:38):
See what happens.
After a month,
Alex (01:31:41):
we get crystal nerfed.
Cozy (01:31:43):
Oh, crystal, that's a good
one.
Electro three, four electro.
What a time to be alive.
Who gives a crap?
Alex (01:31:51):
Who gives a crap about a
three, four electro Cozy?
Do you care?
Cozy (01:31:54):
I do.
Alex (01:31:56):
You care what?
A three, four electro.
You're the only one.
Cozy (01:31:58):
I you don't like them?
Alex (01:31:59):
No.
Screw electro.
Why would I play electro when Ican play anything else?
Give me manna.
Manna.
What?
You don't call it manna, is itwhat?
No.
Okay.
Sorry.
Energy play.
Cozy (01:32:12):
It's energy.
We're playing.
Marvel.
Marvel style.
Here comes the comments like, you guys aren't taking this
size.
Hey we're doing the best we canover here.
Alex (01:32:20):
We are doing the best we
get.
Listen, okay, I get my son tosleep on a air side play electro
side.
What?
Sorry?
You get plus one land next turnand you can't play card.
You can't only play one card.
So for extra land, is it reallyworth playing?
Electro bro?
It's smokey and
Cozy (01:32:31):
magic right now.
Smokey
Alex (01:32:34):
Magic.
We just started playing.
We just the rest of the podcastwith us just playing a commander
game.
Little top down.
Cozy (01:32:38):
Might as well, man.
Might as well.
What's the Snapchat chat mailbaggot, there's something in there
about Alicia Keys.
Alex (01:32:44):
So I tried to avoid too
many of the questions and
statements about Alicia Keys.
'cause they were very frequent.
People were apparently veryupset with me.
And they think I'm joking, buthonestly, I have no idea who
these people are.
I'm not making it up.
I'm not just trying to bait thecomments.
I don't know.
No, but when you said, I barelyknow their songs,
Cozy (01:33:01):
when you said you haven't
seen Harry Potter this is just
Alex Kosher, this is.
This is Alex Kocha.
This is who he
Alex (01:33:07):
is.
Yeah like this is not a facade.
Like I have no idea who halfthese people are that we talk
about.
But what I will tell you, oh,also people think I'm so dumb.
Here's a great, here's a great,so last week you asked me about
the three rappers that I thinkwere very influential.
Yeah.
Ice
Cozy (01:33:20):
Cube.
You got a little, I said,
Alex (01:33:22):
that's, I still think
that's a reach buddy.
I said, okay, Eminem.
And I said what else did I say?
Eminem?
I said, ice Cube.
And I said, DMX.
First of all, DMX was areverend.
Let's not forget, A man of holyDMX is great.
A holy man.
Yeah, sure.
Holy man.
Gotta respect that.
Hey, here's the stupid thing, and this is what's funny and
(01:33:42):
what, how people, they readthrough me, but at the same
time, like they don't even theyread through me in a way they
don't even realize.
When I said ice cube.
People thought there were peoplethat thought I meant Vanilla
Ice, and there's a chance thatyou thought I meant Vanilla Ice.
No, but I said Ice Cube.
And people responded, like Isaid, vanilla Ice, and I'm not,
(01:34:03):
no, not so stupid.
But that's also the type ofthing that I would do.
However, what's really dumb isthat I said ice cube, but in my
head I was picturing Dr.
Dre.
So they almost got halfwaythere.
What I mixed up with people.
Dr.
Dre would've been a
Cozy (01:34:17):
much better tr I would've
not given you any, anything on
Dr.
Dre and my son made a noise onit, but I said Tupac and that
ended up getting cut.
But I just say we should add, weneed to add Tupac.
Alex (01:34:28):
I can agree with Tupac,
but it's funny.
So peop I said Ice Cube.
People thought I meant VanillaIce, but I actually meant Dr.
Dre.
Cozy (01:34:35):
What about ice tea?
Do you ever watch SSVU Law andOrder.
Alex (01:34:39):
No.
Does that surprise you that Idon't watch Law and Order?
Cozy (01:34:43):
I don't know.
You seem like one of those guysthat watched that show.
Alex (01:34:47):
Why would I seem like a
guy that would watch Law and
Cozy (01:34:48):
Order?
I don't know.
I actually watched it back inthe day.
Olivia and Alioth, they werecute together.
You
Alex (01:34:53):
look like you watched X,
like the X what's it called?
XFiles.
Was it XFiles with Molder andScully?
Yeah.
But that's great.
That's a good show.
I never watched that crap.
Crap.
I.
I don't know, man.
Is this
Cozy (01:35:05):
thing
Alex (01:35:05):
on?
We haven't even answered aquestion yet.
Pillow.
What the hell are we talkingabout?
Wait, you haven't said aquestion yet.
I haven't said, dude, youremember me saying a question.
It's a Snapchat mailbag.
We haven't answered any mail.
I'm thinking
Cozy (01:35:15):
about how much shipping
costs for the mic pillow.
I'm like, do we aren't shippingor not?
We're
Alex (01:35:20):
just talking now.
This isn't even a podcast.
This is as we're not even sureif we're recording anymore.
Alright, listen, we've gotta getright to something important
here.
Okay.
Question number one from grovel.
This is hard hitting informationhere for about Marvel Snap from
Grovel Cozy.
Looks like he's an undercovercop trying to buy drugs.
Saw.
I saw, and that's in referenceto how you were dressed last
night.
I saw
Cozy (01:35:40):
my, a tank top and a
backwards hat.
It hurt.
That's what I wear sometimes, Ithink that was the first time
I've ever worn a hat.
On camera.
That's why.
And people were
Alex (01:35:47):
like, Alex is doing a
podcast with his stepson.
I was, that was so funny.
Me, that one cracked me
Cozy (01:35:51):
up.
I I, yeah, I thought about it.
I'm like why was that so weird?
But it is.
'cause I don, I've always, Inever wear a hat, at least I do
all the time, but not on this.
Alex (01:36:01):
Yeah, it's funny, just
like I never ever wear glasses
anywhere I go in my entire lifeexcept directly facing this
camera.
This is the only time I'll wearglasses.
And by the way, I bumped intosomeone at PAX who did not
recognize me.
I was standing behind them on anescalator and I was talking to
my brother and they were likethis.
They were like,
Cozy (01:36:20):
they took off their
glasses to see if you were
wearing glasses.
Alex (01:36:23):
They were like looking at
me.
And they're like, and they like, they're like, Alex.
I said, yeah, what's up?
They're like, bro, I listen toSnapchat every week.
I didn't recognize you withoutyour glasses.
It wasn't until you, I heardyour voice that I realized it
was you.
I'm like, really?
It was the glasses.
The glasses.
Like completely it was like,it's you know what, like in,
you're like a superstar.
Like when who's someone that'sfamous puts like sunglasses on
(01:36:44):
the hat, and all sudden no knowswho
Cozy (01:36:46):
they are.
Alex (01:36:46):
Ice
Cozy (01:36:46):
Cube.
Yeah.
Alex (01:36:47):
Ice Cube does that.
Cozy (01:36:49):
21 Jump Street.
Alex (01:36:51):
Yeah.
Okay.
With Korean and Jesus.
Yeah.
You see an ice cube on that?
Yeah.
That's why I like him.
That's why he comes to mind.
I, I think ice cube's sick man.
He has one of my favorite lines, and I can't repeat it here.
You ever see Friday?
You ever see Friday?
Stop blanking with Cree andJesus.
He's busy doing Korean stuff.
Do you ever have you see Friday?
No.
(01:37:11):
You have to watch.
Cozy (01:37:12):
Is that a movie?
Movie?
Yeah.
Don't,
Alex (01:37:13):
yeah, but you can't just
keep putting movies on me.
I'm not even watching the onesyou're telling me.
But there is something that Loomis gonna bring up.
About storytelling Cozy.
And this is a very importantcomment, very important mailbag
question loom and says, I'mgonna tell my future kids about
the legend of the time Alextook, came to a tournament.
Cozy (01:37:33):
Oh, took, came to the
tournament.
Yeah, that one got me.
I could barely get the question.
That one got me.
That one got me.
Yeah, because I'm telling youman, it's gonna be like 20 years
from now.
So I'm like, you used to hostthat podcast.
But yeah.
Yeah.
What was that thing aboutsomething about Kang and Alex
playing.
K I'll never be able to see Kangin the MCU.
You've ruined him for me.
Alex (01:37:54):
I'm sorry.
We have another statementthough, and this is a good one
from Sammy.
Sammy man, what a breath offresh air.
I love when you guys talk aboutother games in car games,
especially more MTG and Pokemon.
Sammy, I'm glad you don't wantus talk about Snap'cause we
haven't done much of that inthis particular episode.
You'll love
Cozy (01:38:11):
this episode.
Yeah, this has been great foryou.
Yeah.
We have something cooking up inthe pipeline where we might have
bonus content coming on random.
Yeah, we're trying to figuresome stuff.
Alicia Keys and Beyonce lineage.
Alex (01:38:26):
Okay.
'cause I'll let you decide'causeI'm tired as hell.
I gotta go to bed, but i'll, Imean you, you're three hours
behind me and you gotta go tobed.
So I've settled on it.
I think
Cozy (01:38:34):
we
Alex (01:38:34):
go with pillow, Mike.
Cozy (01:38:36):
Pillow, Mike, oh, sorry.
Go ahead.
I have a
Alex (01:38:37):
question for you.
Do you want a Marvel Snaprelated question or no?
One last one.
See,
Cozy (01:38:42):
this is a lose loose.
Can I tell you why?
Because I say no, like Cozyhates Snap.
I say yes and I hate thequestion.
Alex (01:38:50):
Okay.
So you want the question?
Yeah,
Cozy (01:38:52):
I'll take the question.
Alex (01:38:54):
Okay.
Cozy Snap.
This is from Alex, is Pagan.
I don't know if that's inreference to me.
I don't know, maybe, I don'tknow what's going on.
Maybe I'm reading the name wrong'cause it's honestly a really
small font and I'm really tired.
I've got a question that's beenhaunting me for a long time.
Why are there still cheatingbots in this game?
What's in it for second dinner?
(01:39:14):
I don't know about others, butfacing them, and in most cases,
losing big cubes against them isextremely frustrating.
It makes me want to quit thegame and not play anymore.
So why do you think they'restill in the game?
PS I love your nons Snap relatedconversations.
The candy ranking bonanza, theNintendo Squabble, the Alicia
Keys, being the daughter ofBeyonce.
It's so hilarious.
(01:39:35):
Keep it coming.
Cozy (01:39:36):
Yeah.
All games have bots and I thinkcard games are hard to program
bots'cause it's like you do.
Do they do the same thing eachtime?
If they do, that's easy to know.
Do they mix it up and play?
The ch Yeah.
Dude, that's a tough one to endon, man.
I'm.
Yeah, he should have laid up.
I will tell you
Alex (01:39:53):
that there's some, they,
okay, so I think Griffin had
answered a question that they'relike, oh, we didn't make any
changes to bots, bro.
I have like livestream footageof me getting my, not even my
cheeks clapped.
I'm saying my cheeks gotdemolished by like some of these
bot plays for eight cubes.
It's'cause once I see it's abot, I just Snap.
I'm like, whatever.
These are free cubes.
(01:40:13):
And then I'm like, bro, what didthis bot just do to me?
This is like mathematically, like they, yeah.
Knowing what's happening.
NASA scientists figure it out.
Like the exact trajectory topump me, bro.
And that's exactly whathappened.
These bots were absolutelysavage and griffin's oh, we
didn't change anything.
And there's some internsomewhere going like this.
Cozy (01:40:31):
Yeah, dude, I in rivals
when they do bots and rivals,
you can't flink you'll go aroundand they the boss just like it
knows you're there.
Yeah.
Put you asleep.
Is that it?
Is that the final nail of thecoffin?
Hey guys, we really appreciateyou coming by today.
Hanging out with a couple guysthat are just here talking about
(01:40:56):
Marvel Snap.
We wish you'd have a great oneand a good one.
A very special Monday.
That was, that's how I want Alexto die when you go out.
I need you to, yeah, just likethat.
You look like you're doing, oh,who does that?
It's super powerful.
Who puts this head?
Es strange, right?
I don't remember.
It could be Merlin.
Well guys, hopefully you enjoyedthis.
(01:41:17):
It is episode, the Snapchat.
It was a longer one, but we hadto talk about all the cards.
We even cut a subject to makesure this one wasn't too long
and we're still easily at anhour and 40 minutes.
Love it.
Great stuff guys.
Alex (01:41:29):
It just says more of a
Cozy (01:41:30):
Snapchat down there.
I love that.
Not the Snapchat mailbag.
Alex (01:41:33):
I just saw that.
I just really, I didn't noticethat before.
Cozy (01:41:35):
I did too.
Until I read it.
