Cozy (00:00):
What's going on everybody?
What's going on?
Strangers?
And welcome to the Snap back.
I was gonna say Snap back.
Snapchat.
I'm back, is what I meant tosay.
And Alex, I am joined by you orshould I say you're joined by
me?
I guess this time around man.
It's been far too long and mygosh, man, just, I'm so excited
for this episode.
So excited to be back buddy.
(00:21):
How you doing?
Alex (00:22):
I'm doing great buddy.
Like I want to hear about yourtrip.
I want to hear about the event.
I want to, you have so much youhave to catch us up on, man.
So I bet like we better dive in.
We're gonna be here for like sixhours.
We even tried off screen to nottalk too much about it so we
could save it for the podbecause Cozy and I, we always
chat beforehand'cause it's likeit's a nice chance for us to
catch up.
But Cozy iss like, no, we gottatalk about it on the pod.
(00:43):
Yeah,
Cozy (00:43):
we were talking and I was
like, wait, we're just talking
about all the stuff we wouldeven talk about while we were
filming.
Yeah.
This has been by far.
The busiest era of my life, andit's not even close.
So for starters, for those thatdon't know, I think it was on a
Snapchat, but then I also thinkit somehow maybe got deleted.
I don't even know.
I'm having my second child inless than a month.
(01:04):
Uh, Ms.
Cozy is as pregnant as you canget, and I've been working, uh,
double dad duty when I'm notdoing the rest of the chaos.
So, uh, I thought a fun way.
One of our subjects today iswe're gonna do kind of, Cozy
catch up on where I've been thelast few weeks.
We went from never missing anepisode to three in a row.
Great job, Cozy.
Fantastic.
But then also the, we're gonnado a very fun game of Cozy
(01:27):
ketchup with the cars that havecome to the game because I've
been gone, this has been thelongest.
I've been away from Snap sinceAlpha.
And so it is gonna be crazy toknow what has come into this
game.
I'm gonna kind of guess how goodthese cars have been that I've
missed.
And everything in between.
And then Alex and I have thefallen one to talk about today,
(01:47):
and of course the Snapchatmailbag.
But yeah, man, so it's beengood.
It's been a little bit of achaotic really since, I wanna
say two weeks into July.
Really even June was busy'causeI was doing some casting stuff,
kind of, live for them there.
But then we had ComicCon, which,uh, I'm very, uh, I know you
know what ComicCon is, but it's,it is the biggest thing that we
(02:08):
have here in San Diego.
And, uh, essentially I was, Iwas picked there to, we're going
to go to this beautiful screen.
I was picked to host, uh, anevent at ComicCon, which was
super cool, super fun, reallyexciting.
And long story short, got to bewith a lot of the, the, the
voice actors of rivals and, uh,help host with extra Emily and
(02:31):
Iru, both extremely nice people.
Do you know them at all?
Alex (02:37):
I'm not too familiar with
them.
No, I mean, I've been watchinglike your casting events and
I've been like keeping track ofthe eSports scene and so like
I'm starting to learn more aboutthem like by like kind of
osmosis through you to somedegree.
Yeah.
Well, to be
Cozy (02:50):
fair, I, so I like, I
don't watch their content.
I just know of them.
Uh, she's the biggest, I is thebiggest streamer on Twitch
female wise and extra.
Emily I think is like top five Iwant to say.
Uh, but both very sweetindividuals.
They did like a cosplay contest.
The cosplay there was awesome ininsane hosting was really fun.
(03:10):
I, you know, it's, it's crazy,uh, getting ahead of myself, but
it, whenever I went to China, Ihad this streamer there who
typically streams in front of20, 30, 40,000 people.
But then he was on stage and hewas like, man, why am I so
nervous on stage compared to onstream?
Right?
And it's so crazy that there'sso many viewers all the time for
these streamers, but as soon asyou get to a live environment,
(03:30):
Alex, it's just like such atotally different game.
Alex (03:33):
It is so funny, once
you're outta your element, like
everything's out the window.
I actually talked about this onthe prior podcast.
I was talking about how like,uh, you know, because, uh, Husky
had done the casting for theGolden Gauntlet, and I was
saying like, when I was doingthe Deadpools Diner, I was, do
you remember how nervous I waslike, behind the scenes, man.
Like, remember like, you'relike, Alex, you're not being
yourself.
Like, what's up?
I'm like, I'm just so nervous.
I don't know why.
(03:54):
And you were like, cool as acucumber.
Like you, you'd walked this roadso many times before and you
actually had legitimately like, calmed me down, helped me like
get not through it, but likehelp me kind of get back into
the flow of like what I'm knownto be.
Right.
And it was so bizarre.
Once you're outta your elementjust a little bit.
Like it can be difficultsometimes.
Cozy (04:13):
Yeah.
That's, that's essentially whatit is, right?
It's like once you have lesscontrol, especially over content
making, it gets just harder todo.
So whether that's on likesomebody else's stream, if
you're like guest starring orwhatever, or in person and
there's.
Spaces to views, right?
Like, that's when it gets kindof crazy.
So luckily I've had like, youknow, I had some nice, like, I,
I wanna say almost, you know,I've done conquers and some
(04:34):
other things, but I had somenice, like, baby steps before I
got on the stage in China.
And before I continue, I wannasay huge shout out to everyone
that filled the spots.
Super Tech, God, Dexter, loveYou and Husky for, for joining
in Dara, for joining in andhelping out while, uh, while I
was away.
Guys seen the comments.
I love that y'all love theSnapchat and we love that you
(04:56):
love the Snapchat.
I love the Snapchat.
If it was something that I couldphysically have done, I would've
done it.
And I'm just happy to be backand, and talking here with, uh,
with my best buddy over here.
And it just felt wrong.
It felt like I was watching my,my, my ex-girlfriend do
something.
I I, it made me, it made me sad.
Alex (05:15):
Well, yeah, you're, you're
definitely missed, dude.
And, uh, yeah, we, we had some, some great people fill in, but
at the same time, like there'ssomething special about the
Snapchat, Cozy Snap, Alex Cocha.
And I think that's, there's likea magic here that is like, it's
one of those things where it'slike, it's hard to define.
It's like, uh, intangible.
And so I, uh, yeah, I really,uh, just have been having tons
(05:35):
of fun, like kinda learningabout like, you know, different,
um, you know, different kind oflike different ranks and how
they approach playing the gameand stuff like that.
Like with Husky and how highranked he is, you know, it was
just really interesting to kindof be with like different
personalities but at the sametime like there's something
special about the Snapchat andI'm glad that we're back at it,
you know what I mean?
Oh dude.
For sure.
And
Cozy (05:54):
it also just getting like
different perspectives is really
interesting.
Obviously we've been talking nowthree years, so we have like the
same and regardless, no matterwhat, it's no secret, obviously
by time is split with Rifles andSnap and so someone that only
plays Snap, it's gonna be ableto offer like I'm sure people
that are just pure Snap headswere in it.
'cause had like, that's justsomething like straight up I
can't offer as only a Snapplayer.
(06:15):
Right.
But it has been cool playing.
Snap is like a mobile game toonow, which is interesting.
I have to say it's, you know,I've met thousands of people
over the last couple of weeksand how many people either
played Snap.
And got into rivals.
And then they knew me from thator they knew me from just Snap.
Or even best of all, just likelong-term listeners of the
Snapchat, I called you.
(06:36):
There's a, a great gentlemannamed Scott Porter.
He voices Star Lord in in Marvelrivals.
Uh, but he is also the mayorthat lead actor in Ginny and
Georgia, a really big show.
I think he was one of the mainactors in Friday Night Lights.
One of the most genuine humansI've ever met.
Really good guy.
Millions of followers, massivelistener and fan of the
Snapchat.
Like, it's just so funny.
(06:57):
You never know, bro, who'slistening.
It's just crazy.
No way,
Alex (06:59):
man.
My wife and I watched Ginny inGeorgia.
That is mind blowing.
I this is an absolute bu I'm soglad you saved this for dude,
this is wild.
That's crazy, dude.
Like this is, we're talkingabout like actual Hollywood,
someone who I know and watch andrespect, like, this is crazy.
Cozy (07:14):
Well, I, so I don't know
the show.
I know my wife watched it a lotand like, it was just one of
those, like, me and my wife tryto watch the same shows, but
every now and then she'll startone.
And then if I wasn't there, it'slike, it's too late, right?
It's already too far gone.
But I, yeah, like he hit me upon Instagram not long ago,
Scott, you listening?
What's up Bubba?
But, uh, and he was like, Hey,uh, you know, keep doing what
you're doing.
Been been, uh, listen to theSnapchat.
(07:35):
And I was like, do you know whothis is?
Uh, to my wife?
And she's like, yeah, this isthis guy.
And it was like she happened tobe watching the show right then
and there.
So, anyway.
I was watching this, this showcalled Quarterback on Netflix
and he was talking about JoeBurrow and he was, he was
playing the piano and he wasmentioning how like people never
know what these celebrities perse are doing in their off time.
Right.
And you just never know.
(07:56):
What they're watching, whothey're watching, what they're
doing.
So it's really cool to just seefrom, you know, just kids we've
met that watch us all the wayto, yeah, Hollywood actors just
so insane.
And every single time it hasnothing to do with Snap.
They're just, they love thebanter, they love the Alex and
Cozy chemistry.
And that's what I love too, bud.
So it's just, it's so much tounpack here.
(08:16):
But uh, so yeah, comic Con,really fun.
The magic team over at Wizardsof the Coast invited me over to
go to this magic panel with, uh,because they got the Spider-Man
set coming out.
Soap, dude, that's gonna besick.
Can't wait for that.
That's in about a month comingout.
Did some of the toughest hostingI've ever done, Alex.
They're so all these gentlemenare great.
They only speak, uh, Mandarinthough Chinese.
And so dude trying to host a qand a panel with a translator
(08:41):
is.
Impossibly hard.
Very weird and hard to do.
Yeah.
Alex (08:45):
I couldn't only imagine
how difficult that would be,
Cozy (08:48):
but it was fun.
A lot of fun.
ComicCon is great, and soComicCon two days after
ComicCon, uh, ignore Blade here, even though this is sick.
Two days after Comic-Con, I wason my flight to China to go host
Marvel rivals, uh, midseasonFinals for their eSports
tournament.
Ignite, and just a, a crazyamount of things to break down
(09:10):
my guy.
First of all, have you been toChina?
Alex (09:16):
Kind of questions that
Man, I have never been off of.
Like the mainland of NorthAmerica before going to San
Diego, uh, was by far thefurthest I had been.
Like, I've not tr I'm not welltraveled.
No.
Have you had Chinese food?
That might surprise some.
Have you had Chinese food?
Yeah, we've had Chinese food,but like, I don't think I've had
like genuine real Chinese food, you know what I mean?
(09:37):
Name a Chinese food, like realChinese
Cozy (09:38):
food.
Name a Chinese food.
Chicken balls.
Chicken ball.
Well, we're already owe forwhat?
What's chicken balls?
I don't think that's that thing.
They don't have chicken.
What?
Chicken balls.
It's just chicken balls on themenu.
Alex (09:48):
It's a ball of chicken and
they bread it and you dip it in
like a red, sweet and soursauce.
That is a hundred percentChinese food.
If dude, no, you're crazy now.
Like you're looking at me likeI'm recycling.
You're crazy.
Chicken bowls is the most likeChinese food, Chinese thing on
the planet.
Cozy (10:01):
Talking like orange
chicken.
Alex (10:03):
No, like orange chicken's.
Like that breaded thing.
I like that too.
But no hundred percent chickenbowls with like the red, sweet
and sour sauce.
Have you ever had the red, sweetand sour sauce?
So like
Cozy (10:12):
when you land at the
airport, like you know, China
landed the chicken balls, likethat's like an iconic thing
there they got going on.
Not low main.
I don't
Alex (10:18):
think they advertise it
like that.
No.
Have you had low Maine?
I don't think so.
Low Maine?
Is that like the green, thebeans sprouts.
I don't, I don't like the beans,sprouts.
I gotta be honest with you.
You know what I really like?
They have like, they have likeorange chicken.
They have orange beef, which isnice.
I like when, uh, like placesnearby that do Chinese food,
they do like shaved beef andthey put like, it's like black
beans, spicy beef, and it'sunreal.
(10:40):
I love it.
It's so good.
Cozy (10:42):
You, I'm, I just, I'm so
glad to be back talking to you.
I need like my, I need my dailydose of Alex and I've, I've,
again, I is the classic.
I have a fever and the onlyprescription is just, it's just
more Alex in my life.
It's that simple.
Listen, so we, so uh, okay.
The last time we talked, remember I did my first class
trip ever to Miami.
Do you remember this?
(11:02):
Yeah, I do.
I do remember this.
That, that, that was theequivalent of going to like the
local fair and saying like, Ithink I've di been to Disney
World going on a first classtrip to China, bro.
There's a full bed, bro.
I laid down horizontal on anairplane.
Alex (11:17):
You actually laid down and
slept on a bed.
A full dude.
15 hour flight.
15 1 5.
Your, your Twitter says 20
Cozy (11:26):
hours of flight.
Well, that's okay.
The first flight was 15.
I went to San Francisco, then Iwent to Hong Kong, then I went
to Gong Joe.
That's 20 hours.
The, but the, the, the, the one,the long one was 15.
Alex called me on with threeconnections.
snoop.com over here.
Did I?
Yeah.
Three connections, bro.
Which landing in a Chineseairport with no English is like
a stressful experience.
And like, you know, I decided tostart China on hard mode.
(11:49):
Right?
I get there.
Fantastic flight.
Watch the Mario movie.
I love it.
I, I, I get there, get in theairport.
Guess whose luggage did not makeit to China?
All my, oh no, you
Alex (11:57):
gotta be kidding me.
Serious.
Seriously,
Cozy (12:00):
all of it gone.
All of it.
Not, I have no luggage, bro.
And I go to the luggage the lostluggage counter.
They don't sp no, no English.
It's not like, oh, here, talk tothis per no.
It's like, none.
Good luck.
Have a good day.
Gigi.
Luckily the rivals team trackeddown, took a couple days, but I
was wearing, uh, I was wearingsome infamous local favorites.
(12:21):
So, dude, it's too long to gointo all of it, but I'll tell
you this, man, China is one ofthe best places I've ever been
in my life.
I don't think I knew anything ofwhat to expect about China.
It, I honestly, like, I, I, doyou
Alex (12:35):
know anything about China?
I, I know I can even tell youanything.
I have no idea what it wouldlook like.
Yep.
I have no idea what people wear.
To me it is a complete blackbox.
Like, I couldn't even begin toexplain what China would be
like.
That's how I was, man.
Cozy (12:48):
Like, I had no idea what
to expect.
And it is, first of all, bro, itis like, it's cyberpunk man.
Every building's lit up.
Everything has like, uh,everything's lights.
That just, that's how I couldexplain best.
Super clean though, crazyhospitable.
The people were extremely justfriendly from start to finish.
Man, I love it.
I'm a big fan of China now.
I'm not even kidding you.
Like I would go back in aheartbeat.
(13:09):
I would go to China before Iwould go to Miami.
Now I dead serious.
But yeah, this went to a mall.
It's cool.
It's great stuff.
We did a co, we had like acouple days to uh, acclimate
there a little bit and, and didsome of the, the tour stuff.
But then we had the event.
So bro, this was one of the, like, we didn't know a lot about
this before going in, so whenthey walked us to this stage
(13:31):
where we, so this is the castingbooth here.
But thi this is the main stage, this main this.
Show me that pose again.
Go back.
You gotta show the pose again.
That's a, that's a salute, bro.
They're, they're pink.
Pink.
Only You could wear that
Alex (13:43):
too.
Cozy (13:43):
Look how just stum, you're
pink is Good luck there, bro.
Look at this stage, bro.
How insane is this stage, man?
I don't think I'm, I'm nevernervous about anything.
I, it takes, I, I can't rememberthe last time I was nervous, but
when I saw the stage, I waslike, oh, damn.
Hold on.
I, that, that's a different,that's a different feel also,
obviously being in a countrythat's not my own and, and, and
(14:04):
hosting something to thatdegree.
But dude, it was, it was thesingle best experience in my
content created life.
I could say that.
Full stop.
Full, no question about it.
Just unreal, bro.
Unreal.
Being able to do something likethat.
You know, when I was a kid, Itook all these tests, what do
you wanna be when you grow up?
And I just kept gettinganchorman.
And to be able to kind like be apseudo anchor man, it was cool.
Alex (14:28):
Yeah.
No, man.
Like honestly, I was watching,it was very difficult with like
the different time zones andeverything to figure out, like
when you guys were live.
Yeah.
And I kept, like, they keptgoing live multiple times on
Twitch and it was like thereruns and stuff like that, so
it was hard to like, catch youlive.
But what I was watching wasphenomenally well produced.
You're actually the wholecasting team, like obviously you
(14:49):
crushed it, but the wholecasting team was tremendously
talented and the productionquality was through the roof.
The actual games were reallygood too.
And, um, I, I don't know, man,the whole thing was so
unbelievably well put together.
Like, I'm not just, I'm not justthrowing out praise here, like
legit, like rivals and theirteam, like they did a fantastic
job and you hosting and the, theco-hosts and of course the
(15:12):
casters, like the whole thingwas an incredible production.
I, I can only hope and wish thatmaybe one day in Snap we could
have something like that.
Like I feel like it was one ofthose things that like had we
leaned into earlier on
Cozy (15:23):
Oh yeah.
Alex (15:24):
I think it would've paid
dividends forward for the game.
But I, I guess they never feltlike it was worth it.
And, and watching how wellMarvel Rivals Ignite was like
produced and the excitement itprovided to the communities,
like everyone that I know wastalking about it.
Not just'cause obviously I'madjacent to you, but like it's
all I was hearing about and Iwas watching it here and there
and, uh, dude, I don't know.
(15:45):
It just, it, it, it put a smileon my face and also a tear in my
eye because, uh, you know whatcould have been,
Cozy (15:51):
bro?
I, first of all, well I guessbreaking that into pieces is me
and Alex was like right before Ileft.
I'm like, alright, bro, here wego.
We'll just film when I'm inChina.
Just a stark 15 hour difference.
In fact, it, it is a perfectdifference of filming, of middle
of the night for both of us nomatter what.
And so not only that too, every, you know, things are banned
there.
So there's not discord, there'snot YouTube.
(16:13):
So trying to go through VPN is awhole nother beast, which is why
I guess it was a couple extraweeks of, of, uh, of, of, of me
not being on the Snapchat there.
But yeah, it, it felt like thatman head to toe.
It was funny, I was talking tofan here who did like a, do you
remember fan, fan did this hugething for Marvel Snap.
Do you remember this?
Alex (16:30):
Yeah, yeah.
Fan Fan had streamed for Snap.
I think they were part of theconquerors.
We casted.
Weren't they?
Oh, we casted disguise Toast.
Was there fan was there?
Uh, lyric and his his brotherwere there.
Right?
You, you're totally right.
Yeah.
So
Cozy (16:41):
I, I was talking to her
about that.
I was like, yeah, you were insome, uh, you were in this
tournament that I was in.
Well, and I think we met her, bro.
Uh, the first time we met her.
By the way, love, love her.
Incredible, uh, individual gotto know her really well, but we
met her when I think, I mean, Iwas a three sheet center, the
win at TwitchCon, but we raninto them at TwitchCon.
Do you remember this?
I do remember.
It was outside, right?
(17:01):
Yeah, I do.
I do remember we had a couple inus.
Yeah.
Yeah.
'cause I think it was after the,the club you went to at the
shorts on.
Alex (17:09):
Yeah.
Well, I, yeah, that's, that's a,another story goes, I promise
this Twitch con I'm gonna dressmore appropriately.
Okay.
I'm gonna pack pants, I'm gonnahave shirts.
It's, I'm gonna be ready.
Cozy (17:17):
I do, I'm, I'm ready for
you.
Yeah.
Twitch con's gonna be a, a hootthis year.
But yeah, they had really goodcosplay.
This not a great photo, but coolcosplay.
This venom guy was sweatingbullets, man.
I can feel it the whole time.
But yeah, I was there for abouttwo weeks, man.
This my infinity stone, uh,outfit.
And then, bro, so then I getback, man, I just get back, I
get back Tuesday.
So what is today?
I don't even know what today.
What is today?
I don't know what's today.
Uh,
Alex (17:37):
it's, you put me on the
spot here.
It it's a Monday, August 18th,sir.
Cozy (17:41):
No.
So I got back Wednesday orthird, Wednesday of last week.
I got back Wednesday of lastweek.
And I, I then went to go, theygo host a oh bro.
It was on China tv by the way.
Alex (17:55):
Did you see this?
Really?
Have you not seen this?
I didn't see this.
No.
I haven't logged into Twitter inso long.
Whoa.
You look like an NFL coach doingan interview after a win, dude.
So I'm so hosting
Cozy (18:05):
this event was the
craziest thing I've ever done.
'cause there's literallythousands of people.
I'm going up to doinginterviews, doing different
things, and I get grabbed bythese one people and they're
like, Hey, can you come do thisinterview?
And I was like, yeah, why not?
You know, it's my 20th one a dayand I go there and right as I'm
going on, this lady tells me, bythe way, this is China's
national tv.
I'm like, what do you mean?
They're like, it's like NBC inAmerica.
(18:26):
And I'm like okay.
And they do like six cameras.
And they did tell me which oneto look at first of all.
So I'm just like trying to takea guess.
And then they just said onequestion.
They were like, what do youthink of China?
You got this guy breaking down.
I don't even know what.
I guess I hit him with the rightanswer.
I, I, I didn't know.
They said, what do you think ofChina?
(18:47):
And I gave you essentially whatI just gave as my, my, my
outreach.
But dude, I was on China tv, youcan cross that off my bucket
list.
And then finally they asked meto come host a Fantastic four
and Marvel rivals event at theEl Capitan, which is like a, a
very famous theater here inHollywood.
And that's where I got to meet alot more of the voice hack, bro.
(19:08):
It has been at you Wild, wildcouple weeks.
And then it all ends with, todayI'm headed back up to LA to go
to a the, the, the music of theMCU where it's like, uh, uh,
it's all the, all the composersand the, some of the actors at,
bro.
I don't know.
This is cra I don't even knowwhat my life has become, but I,
it's, it's fun.
But I, I miss you.
Alex (19:29):
Your life has become the
dream, my man.
It's honestly, it's sophenomenal.
I'm glad that you've been ableto kind of like, uh, get these
experiences because first ofall, you've earned them.
And secondly this is what likefuels the fire of content
creation.
The sleepless nights and the,the work that we put in the
countless hours prior tosuccess.
I've always said the only placeyou find success before work is
(19:52):
in the dictionary.
You've put the work in and nowyou're finding the success.
And I, I honestly love to see itlike I absolutely do.
And, uh, dude, I don't know, couldn't be more proud of you.
Cozy (20:02):
Oh, bro.
Hey, man, blessed, a blessedBeyond Compare, honored Beyond
Reason.
And also, yeah, man, it's justit's very surreal.
In some ways, in other ways,it's like, you know, with my
other child about to be born,it's so, it's just so tough,
man.
Like trying to, you know, this,we talk about this all the time,
like just not having enough timefor anything.
(20:23):
Right?
So, like me, not Cozy, but me asa human have had no, like zero,
zero time for that person at allbecause, you know, been gone.
I've gone for two weeks.
Yeah, I love the Snapchat, butthe first people I'm giving my
time to is obviously my family.
Trying to make that up.
Haven't posted on any of mychannels now for far too long.
Luckily had a couple, like threeweeks ago on my rivals channel,
(20:45):
but like, it's just been purechaos in the best way possible.
And I'm just so blessed to bewhere I'm at now.
And so now I'm just playingcatch up mode before number two
comes here.
Alex (20:57):
Yeah, I know, man.
And, uh, it life is constantlygonna be throwing curve balls at
you, right?
And, uh, this career that wehave in content creation is
amongst the least flexible,right?
You know, carts come out onTuesdays, there's all, there's
like a schedule that you almosthave to adhere to, right?
And I think one of the mostchallenging things that a lot of
people may not appreciate is thechallenge of kind of managing
(21:21):
the expectations of the peoplewho watch you.
Right?
Like, you don't wanna let anyonedown.
Yeah.
You want to do your best, makethe best content you can be
there when they hope you'rethere.
And I feel that stress.
I feel I don't wanna take a dayoff, I don't wanna take a week
off.
I don't wanna miss a video.
And I can only imagine thestress you were feeling in, in
knowing that, uh, you know, thatyou were absent during those
(21:41):
times where, people were hopingthat you were there.
Uh, and a in a lot of ways, thatcomes from a place of love,
right?
Like people love to see CozySnap, right?
But at the same time it is, it'shard because you want to do your
absolute best for your audience.
And I know you are, and I know Iam.
And I just hope that people, they see that.
Cozy (21:57):
Well, dude, thank you.
I thanks for saying that.
I think as a friend to peopletoo, that's just who I try to
be.
I hate being that person who'sabsent and gone.
Right.
And, and that's why like, peoplewho I have friendships with, I
really make sure that they, theyhear from me.
And, you know, we talk, often.
And I tried that so hard withthis channel for so long that I
(22:17):
never like, man, it'cause itsucked.
Like, I don't like not beinghere.
Right.
And it's, it's like I have topick and choose my battles at
the end of the day.
And I, I've just accepted, like,I, I will let people down.
I have to, I have no otherchoice and I have to be okay
with that.
And the people that want to hateme for, uh, not being here,
(22:38):
whatever, like, and you areentitled to your own opinion and
totally just, don't click on thevideo.
Nope, no, no hard, no foul.
You know, unsubscribe for me,whatever you wanna do, because I
just can't pease those people.
But everyone else has beenlistening for a long time.
And enjoy us and, and understandwhat's going on.
You know, it's very parasocialand, and hard to understand life
of us because to the viewers andlisteners, we're just a voice
(23:01):
and entertainment, right?
So as when we stop providingthat, we stop giving them, uh,
any sense of value forourselves.
So it's just a tough, it's sucha hard thing to feed that but
also make sure that you'refeeding yourself in any regard.
So, and then of course itdoesn't hurt that, you know, uh,
the, the way I provide my familyhas made a lot more sense on the
rival side.
But yeah, man, totally listen, outside of new season launching
(23:24):
and, and doing some really easyreaction content on arrivals.
Uh, haven't done something inthree weeks there.
And this was the first content II'm doing'cause this is the
first content I wanted to do,wanted to catch up with.
You wanted to say what's up toeverybody.
Uh, that's listening.
And, uh, just pump man.
I am excited, genuinely, right, because I've been so involved
with Snap for so long.
I've known every card comingout.
I've known about every cardcoming out.
(23:45):
I'm so pumped to know nothingabout what we're talking about.
Like, I quite literally didn'teven have time to log into
social media outside of a coupleposts here and there.
So, I know nothing aboutAugust's season.
We didn't break it down ahead oftime.
So I'm amped for what today'sgonna be, man.
Do you wanna break down whatwe're doing today, Alex?
Alex (24:05):
Yeah.
So basically we're gonna becatching Cozy up.
He has legit not seen or playedthe cards that have come out.
He's not in touch with the meta.
This is as out of touch.
You can have, uh, a Cozy Snap Band we are going to take full
advantage of it right now.
So Cozy, you might get a littleembarrassed here and there, but
we're gonna be going after whatyou think these cards are doing
(24:26):
to the me right now.
Cozy is gonna try to predict howthe cards are performing, how
they've been doing, and I'mgonna be the bearer of good and
or bad news, depending on hisassumptions.
Cozy, why don't we get startedwith, uh, Galactus.
Fantastic.
Four first steps.
Dude
Cozy (24:40):
I don't know anything
about these and so I feel like
I'm going to whiff'cause for thefirst time you do know and I'm
now in the, in the, in the hotseat a bit.
But yeah.
Okay, so let's see here, man.
So this is a six 12, okay?
Galactus is a six 12.
First steps Galactus.
My Herald is the next character.
I see you play.
End of turn.
(25:01):
Plus two power if you're winningmy herald's location if in hand
or in play.
Um, my only question with thisis, sorry.
Uh, does he, so does he have tobe, he doesn't have to be in
your hand for you to, uh, tohave a herald?
Alex (25:15):
He does.
So this is amongst the mostconfusing text ever.
Yeah.
Um, written on a Marvel Snapcard.
Uh, so basically the way itworks, he's a six 12 when he's
drawn into your hand or if he'sin play somehow, but usually he
draws into your hand the nextcharacter you play.
An animation happens.
Okay?
And it becomes the herald ofGalactus.
And if you're winning thatlocation, Galactus in your hand
gets plus two and your opponentdoes see it.
(25:37):
It's kind of like the Red Hulktype thing where it pops out and
shows you that's how it works.
So if Galactus is in your handor on the field of play, the
next character that you play, nomatter what it is, becomes its
herald.
Cozy (25:48):
Okay.
So I think I like this.
I don't love it, but I think Ilike it.
'cause my thought is, if youhave this in your head,
obviously drawing it is probablyvery important.
Clearly.
And if you don't draw it likeit's a six 12 at the end of the
day, I guess, you know, havelike magneta level power,
whatever.
But if you have it in your handearly and then you're able just
to play like I feel like thiscan go in a fair amount of
decks, right?
(26:08):
Because a, it can go in likeyour typical, like you could
even go like discard with it anddo like, you know, I don't how,
whatever, stuff like that.
But on top of that, you, I feellike you can also just play this
in good.
Like, like something like, um,uh, iron Patriot.
This is going back to old cards, but like Iron Patriot, captain
America, those cards that webegan the year with, like, those
are just good cards to get out.
(26:28):
And you can even starting there, right?
You're able to just play cardsthat can adapt around things and
then you have a really big sixdrop to end it at, but they can
see it build up.
So they have, so I don't likethe cube rate on this, but I do
feel like as a card, it's notterrible.
I'm gonna give it a.
Four star as a card.
Alex (26:48):
You know what, you're
probably approximately correct.
Yeah.
The way the card has played outis that on first launch it kind
of unimpressed.
Even in the decks that I haddesigned I was often like
holding a massive galactus andalmost baiting my opponent by
not playing it and doingsomething else instead.
If you think about like what alot of turn sixes are in Marvel
Snap right now, they're oftennot big chunks being dropped on
(27:09):
six.
You have like the mercurycannonball fenner combinations,
like there's a lot of power inturn six plays, and it doesn't
always come from one giant statstick.
Now there are gonna be sixsituations where like a six.
18 Galacto is gonna bepreferred, right?
But there are also times whereit doesn't call for that.
The card is running a relativelymodest positive cube rate.
(27:30):
On aggregate right now ranks 70to 100 pool three according to
untapped, with the latest OTeights running eight 53% win
rate, which is like not greatfor season pass card.
We do have a couple, uh, decksthat are hovering around like
the 56, 57, 58 range, but thoseare playing like, um, the
cannonball Mercury combinationswith Fres.
And you also have like theQuicksilver Wcan.
(27:51):
Quicksilver Wicken looks likeit's the best way to play it as
of right now because you're ableto sneak'em out on turn five
essentially and have a turn sixwhere you can do some of those
magic plays that you're tryingto pull off on turn six.
So yeah, it's, he's kind ofaging well, to be honest with
you, but he's not, he's notcrushing the meta by any, uh,
stroke of the imagination.
Cozy (28:11):
I think it's kind of cool
to have a Galactus, someone as
iconic as Galactus that you can.
Somewhat flexible.
You know, like the galacto theof olds.
You just, you, you only had acouple decks.
Right?
So I think at least that's kindof cool.
But yeah, I don't feel like, um,I don't know, I don't feel like,
how do you think this thing'sgonna age in time?
Alex (28:31):
I am not sure.
I, I like the play style of it.
It almost feels like a minisanctorum showdown, sanctum
showdown, I should say.
And so I, I kind of like thedesign.
And you were also right toidentify Iron Patriot as a good
play with it, because a lot ofthe cards that follow up with
Iron Patriot effectively arecards that you wouldn't mind
being played as Harolds ofGalactus.
Right.
If Iron, iron Patriot is yourherd of Galactus, you naturally
(28:52):
wanna win that location, thenext turn anyways.
So you're playing stuff likeeven Negasonic who can trade a
location effectively.
Right.
Which also feeds into theFenris.
So yeah, like the actual playpattern I think is cool.
I think that the zine of thecard is fascinating.
I actually liked the card.
I almost, I think it was asuggestion.
I'm not sure who had made it.
I'd read somewhere or heard it.
(29:13):
Essentially.
It would be cool if Minoruchange were.
If the actual card, who's theHerald gained plus one power
every time it won a location tohelp seal the locations and
maybe change the stats on theactual G-Man itself could be an
interesting take.
But overall, I don't think thecard's bad.
I don't think it's mid, I thinkit's probably does not have the
(29:36):
ceiling.
Definitely not of Mr.
Fantastic.
But it doesn't have that crazyceiling, but it seems like a
fair season pass card with a atleast fun, intuitive way to play
the game.
Cozy (29:45):
Has Mr.
Vanta been naed yet
Alex (29:48):
obviously, yes.
Cozy (29:49):
You
Alex (29:49):
don't
Cozy (29:49):
know this, did he?
No, I don't.
I did.
Okay.
No, like one of the last timeswe talked, it was like a couple
weeks after he released, and doyou remember I said somewhere
around August, maybe lateAugust.
I guarantee you this card'sgonna get in there.
Please tell me, did they takeaway power or what do they do?
You actually
Alex (30:04):
don't know though.
I swear to God.
Okay, this is actually crazy.
No, you, I'm not just, you gotthere butchered the card, but
it's a three cost now.
He was a, oh, they, they wentcost he a three cost.
So you went from two to three.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Didn't we call this this?
That's a huge nerve.
Yeah.
I vaguely remember you callingit.
And I also, oh, Toddville.
(30:25):
Last season, I also correctlycalled that invisible woman was
gonna ruin the meta.
So was she crack?
Crack?
We both got something.
Yeah, she's, she's pissingeveryone off.
Cozy (30:35):
Does she work well with
this card?
I'm guessing.
Yeah.
No.
Bummer dude.
I, she's,
Alex (30:39):
it's, she's allowing these
end of turn decks to go
absolutely insane.
Cozy (30:42):
Dude.
We, we said that, we said, I'mtelling you, we, we reviewed
Reid and I'm like, dude, this, there's no draw for this
downside, for this card.
This can be one of the bestcards of the game.
And I was like, they're gonnaNerf this card and Merlin, which
I guess, have they done Merlin?
Alex (30:54):
No.
Merlin's still intact.
Okay.
Serious.
Insane.
He's still kind of, and Merlin'splaywright actually has gone
down pretty significantly.
Makes sense.
Which I disagree with.
Merlin is so good.
Guys.
It's a great card.
What are we doing out there?
Why aren't we playing Merlin?
It's whole other conversation.
Cozy (31:05):
Dude, I can't believe Mr.
Fantastic.
Got hit.
What, what, what else got hit inthat OTA, uh, or whatever.
Alex (31:12):
Oh man, they put me on the
spot here.
How long ago was this?
Like, this was like three daysago, four days ago.
This, oh, it was this week.
This week.
Cozy (31:17):
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Alex (31:18):
Yeah.
Thursday this week they, theyhit, uh, havoc.
They took a power off.
Uh, they gave ha havoc a power, but took it from plus four every
turn to plus three because, uh,instead of Nerfing Invisible
woman who's doing all thesedouble pros specifically with
Prodigy, so it's like quad prox.
They nerfed the havoc.
Yeah, they, they're, they'retried.
Oh, they completely reworkedGhost is no longer an ongoing,
(31:40):
it's an honor reveal thatremoves end of turn effects for
cards in that location.
Um, it's like tech.
It's a tech card for end ofturn.
Yeah.
It's a brand new tech cardghost, which is kind of wild.
Yeah.
Everything's different.
Cozy (31:53):
Yeah.
That's what's crazy about thisgame though,'cause I've never
experienced this.
Right.
Like, you know, like you neversee your kids growing up'cause
you're with them every day.
Right.
So like, you know, if you're, ifyour grandpa, grandpa comes
like, oh, you guys gotten sobig.
You're like, oh, I guess so.
Right.
Like with Snap, you just, whenyou're in it every day, you
don't.
You like this, you know, there'schange, but not too much.
And then when you, but if youtake a break and you come back
(32:13):
and do it, it's like that's whenyou feel like, oh shit.
A lot has changed.
Right.
In general.
But alright dude, so what's thenext card?
What's our next one?
Alex (32:21):
Uh, the next card would
probably be the, uh, Silver
Surfer First Steps.
Uh, that is the super premiumseason pass card.
Or conversely we can talk aboutwhat's the name?
Stardust, which was the Seriesfive card, either one.
Cozy (32:33):
Silver Surfer.
Fantastic.
Four First Steps rolls right offthe tongue.
End of turn, if you're winningthis location with an on reveal
card copy, its text wait, soit's essentially Prodigy, but
you have to win at the end the,it's
Alex (32:49):
Imagine Prodigy and
Absorbing Man Mash together.
Yeah.
Cozy (32:53):
And it's a three four, oh
wait, I don't know if I love
this.
Hold on.
If you're winning this locationwith an on reveal card copy, its
text and it only happens onceper.
Once
Alex (33:03):
it gains the text, it's,
that's, it's the card.
Yeah.
And it only doesn't, once, youcan't like repeatedly, it only
happens at one time.
Yeah.
This doesn't interact with theinvisible woman or anything.
Cozy (33:11):
And it's a three four, so
it's an Yeah, it is, it is a
absorbed van with Prodigy uh, Imean, my only guess would be
Surfer.
Sure.
But does it need it, I guess, Iguess Surfer, but does it need
it?
And then you could also playSurfer with like bigger things,
or you could play,'cause youhave like doom you can repeat.
(33:31):
I don't know.
I don't really like this cardthat much.
Is that this, it doesn't seemthat good to me.
Alex (33:36):
Yeah, it's uh, it's not
seeing that much play right now.
That's a bummer.
It could take some cooking, butI do think you're also seeing a
lot of still repeated communitybacklash against the super
premium season pass.
And that's what this is.
Oh,
Cozy (33:46):
Is this the super
Alex (33:47):
pass?
Yeah, that's the super premiumseason pass.
So a lot of people are notbuying it, which is fair.
I absolutely vote your wallet inlike a hundred percent.
I agree.
Um, so it's not seeing that muchexperimentation right now.
I've, I've had some, evenmyself, like I, I talked about
it, uh, you know, in priorweeks, Rob, like I, I just don't
wanna play it.
Like, it kind of feels a littledirty still, you know what I
mean?
I have had some success playingit with the stuff like, uh, you
(34:07):
know, the Iron Patriot'cause itdouble pros that effect, which
is really cool.
Then like you're able to kind oftake advantage of that,
especially with initiativegranting decks, which we tend to
be playing right now.
But yeah, it has not necessarilybeen a meta shaker.
But this type of card couldpotentially find its niche
somewhere.
You know, ironically we talkabout Prodigy and and absorbing
man, like Prodigy saw almost noplay until Invisible Woman First
(34:29):
Steps came out and then all of asudden you have an absolutely
insanely broken deck.
Uh, that where Prodigy actuallylegitimately doubles its
effectiveness.
Right?
And so this essentially doublesthe effectiveness of a non-real
card in a bit of a different waythan a Wong would, but still
kind of fascinating.
So maybe it'll age better.
I don't think it's gonna agelike fine wine, but it'll at
least age.
Cozy (34:49):
It's funny that we said
that about Prodigy, that we said
we were on it, but there'salways new cards coming out and
because of his text it couldinfinitely always scale, right?
Like,'cause there's alwayssomething that could double up
and go crazy.
We have to do another React onewhere we go back and listen to
some of our takes.
'cause I think we're.
We were, I'm sure we were wrongabout a lot, but it's still fun
to to go back.
Yeah.
Uh, I don't have the fantasticcar card'cause I skipped out on
(35:12):
that season pass and, uh, Idon't, I won't have this.
Not a fan of the new model.
I think it's, it is still stupidbreaking news, but okay.
Yeah, that sums it up.
That's, that was a little biteasier to digest than Yeah.
The lactus or at least breakdown.
What's our next card?
Alex (35:27):
Uh, next card.
Let's do Stardust.
Stardust is gonna be the cardthat released into the, uh,
series five packs firstalongside the super premium.
Looks cool.
Eh, so I have a question foryou.
Is he wearing, is Stardust, whois a, she?
Is she wearing pants?
Cozy (35:40):
I don't know what I'm
looking at here.
What is this, what is this?
Behind the pole there?
We, it's a, she the pants arevery well hidden
Alex (35:50):
by the, the Trident.
I see a bolt.
Yeah.
This has been a question that'sbeen stumping
Cozy (35:54):
people.
And the bottom of the six packof the she.
And then there's something goingon down there.
There's something, I mean,there's always
Alex (36:01):
something going on.
No,
Cozy (36:02):
there's, yeah, there's,
there's more lineage that aren't
pants suspect.
There's a lot going on.
Suspect pose.
I suspect a car piss.
I also don't like this pose.
This, this leg is straightenedout and this one is kneeled.
So like, I don't like the poseeither.
I don't like, no, the Carter
Alex (36:20):
is not great.
I'll admit.
Cozy (36:21):
No
Alex (36:21):
offense to the artist
looked,
Cozy (36:22):
it looked cool until I
looked at it.
Now I don't like it now I'm,it's like one of those 3D books
that I'm looking at here.
Alex (36:29):
I Oh, like when you stare
at them with your face really
close to the page and you'resupposed to see an image
afterwards.
Cozy (36:35):
Yeah, but I'm just staring
at their abs now and I don't
know what I'm seeing.
I think I'm seeing parts I fourseven ongoing cards can't be
added to locations except byplaying them or moving them.
So like doom.
2099, Dr.
Doom, any of that stuff youcan't brooded.
(36:57):
Yep.
Ah, that's a tech card.
I don't think we knew we neededpotentially, I actually think, I
mean obviously this is aboutlike,'cause it's tough to
evaluate this card right now'cause I don't know the meta
meta, but what I would say is somany of those cards have been
doing pretty good that I feellike, is this like triple M in
the sense of like, does it solvea problem?
(37:18):
We don't necessarily have, youknow what I mean?
Like, do you play it enough tothrow it in there?
Four seven's not a bad statline.
And this does protect you fromsome pretty good cards.
I have a hard time saying ifthis is needed.
I don't think I would end upplaying this anywhere near like
a Red Guardian, Chung Xi,anything like that.
But I don't think it's a badcard either.
I don't know.
Maybe a three that you don'tplay.
(37:38):
I it, it?
Or has time even been able totell this might scale better in
the future?
Alex (37:44):
So if you're looking for
the answer, the answer has is
that, uh, people were superscared about this card.
On release people were like, this was probably one of the
more controversial ones.
There were people that say, thisis gonna ruin Marvel Snaps meta
completely.
There's other people saying, this is mid, who cares?
And it's kind of fallen to themid side, to be honest with you.
Okay.
And partially I think because itdoesn't have much of an
offensive capability in thesense that like, you know, you
(38:06):
can't convolute yourself withanything.
It is a pure tech piece.
And if your opponent isn'tplaying those cards, it's just
seven power or potentially ninealongside a spectrum or whatever
at four costs.
So.
Yeah, like it definitely doesimpact a wide range of cards,
like way more cars than youmight even think about.
Right.
But um, as of right now, it hasnot been a meta defining card at
(38:28):
any shape.
Like it has not been somethingthat people have been
necessarily worried about.
And even on tap the bestperforming decks for Stardust or
like decks where they're gonnabe doing good anyways and
Stardust is just being splashedin like the end of turn
Invisible woman stuff whereStardust is in there for kind of
no reason.
You know what I mean?
And the stats are kind of beingcarried from there, but it does
have a complete, it has anegative cube rate across
(38:50):
untapped ranks, 70 to a hundredright now since the OTA even
idea and it's only running a 4%meta share, it's not shaping up
to be the meta dominator thatwas maybe feared.
Cozy (39:01):
Yeah.
I just feel like it just dependstoo, like when, it just depends
like what the meta is.
But I just feel like any tech,we kind of seen this like any
tech card that's at a four cost,it just, that's a tough one to.
That, that's a tough, that's atough one to, to get behind, uh,
uh, being a good card, in myopinion.
Alex (39:20):
Yeah.
And the other thing is, and thisis kind of something I kind of
mentioned in my review, is thatlike, it doesn't have the cube
equity of like an enchanter orShan sheet.
Obviously there are differenttypes of tech cards.
This is much more along thelines of like a, like a Mobius
Mobius, right.
It's a softer tech card.
You don't just destroy someone'sboard with a Mobius and Mobius.
But for that reason though, youdon't see Mobius am Mobius as
(39:41):
often as you do a ch or anenchanters.
Right?
Yeah.
It's not reactionary.
It's like, like prepping course.
Yeah.
That,
Cozy (39:46):
yeah.
I guess it would have to belike, I don't know how they
would do this, but like, I don'tknow if it was this and then it,
it said any card that wascreated that wasn't placed or
moved, destroy that, orsomething like that.
Like if it was like a reactionthat you could surprise with at
the end, then maybe it would getbetter.
You know, if someone plays allthese dooms and they're thinking
they're gonna win, then you playthis and it gets rid of all of
them.
Maybe.
(40:06):
But, uh, I don't like, yeah, Idon't like, I don't think this
one, I, it's just kind of, it'sfeels.
It keeps feeling like problemsthat we don't need solving.
'cause they're not a big enoughissue per se.
Alex (40:15):
I suspect that this card
is because somewhere down the
line.
Yeah, they have like a five dropthat is like five 15.
But every turn adds a doom button your opponent's side or
something, right?
Probably.
So like something stupid.
Premium pass, turn that off.
So you just have the stats andnot the downside.
That's what I suspect.
Super,
Cozy (40:34):
super premium pass card.
What, uh, what is our next card?
Alex (40:37):
Uh, next card.
If you wanna stay in the, uh,Snap Hacks would be Frankie Ray,
Nova.
Cozy (40:43):
Frankie Ray
Alex (40:45):
Nova.
Uh,
Cozy (40:47):
she's on
Alex (40:47):
fire.
Cozy (40:48):
She's on fire.
She's on fire.
Two, three.
Oh Love, love.
Two costs.
Three.
After the next time you play asix cost card, double this
card's power.
Ooh.
This is kind of a fun card.
Ooh, I like this card for sure.
This is like, um, man, thiswould've been cool way back in
electro ramp days like way, wayback because like, at the very
(41:10):
minimum you're almost, notalways, but you can often get
I'm sure a 12 power card.
No.
Alex (41:16):
Yeah.
You, you definitely can get thiscard to absolutely astronomical
numbers, but one thing I wannamake mention of, I like it,
which I, one thing that like Ithink a lot of people glossed
over is that the effect onlyhappens once.
Oh, it's the next time you playa six drop.
Oh.
So if you're thinking electro, you can't just keep playing six
drops.
Right.
So you
Cozy (41:32):
have to, okay, so like if,
like you had to read or
something to boost up the power, then you play a six drop.
So you could boost it up then dothat.
At minimum it's a two six, thatyou always play six drops.
Right.
Often like, like, I don't seewhy this would not just be a
good.
If you don't draw a six drop,sure.
But if you're playing Doom orwhatever, any, I think this is a
good card.
I like this card.
I don't know how often it wouldbe played because of like the
(41:53):
competitiveness of the cardsthat are around right now in the
two cost slots.
But I do think it fits in somany decks that I'm a fan.
I'm gonna give it a four.
Okay.
Alex (42:03):
I actually like this card.
I like it on aggregate stats.
It's not doing great.
It's cube rate is more or lessflat.
It's win rate is 50%.
Okay.
Its popularity is only 6% andthis is in the weekend where
people are getting tokens forplaying it.
So like it's not doing greatstatistically.
However, uh, here's a fun fact.
I don't even know if you realizethis.
I actually made the officialMarvel Snap video for Frankie
(42:23):
Renova.
Oh, dude.
They, they reached out.
Yeah.
They talked to you?
Yeah, they reached out.
Yeah, they reached out.
They talked to me.
How did you pull that off?
I, I don't know.
They, they actually, theytouched base with me and said,
Hey, would you be interested indoing this?
And they said, pick a card fromthe season.
I actually was one of the firstones to get to choose.
I'm like, I'll take Frankie RayNova.
This card looks pretty cool.
Cozy (42:40):
I have a workplace sign
behind me.
It's like X amount of days sinceSnap has reached out.
And I just, it goes up a dayevery day I look at it, slap it
on my way in the office.
That's, uh, dude, I'm, hey.
Honestly, though, I'm just gladthey reached out to anybody that
I, I couldn't be boy happy foryou, buddy.
That's, I gotta go watch it,man.
I gotta go.
Uh, the comment that you're hotor something the Well, that's,
that's cool, man.
(43:01):
I'm super pump for you for that.
Alex (43:02):
It's funny you say that,
dude, because, so first of all,
it was kind of stressful becauseI just submit the video like
weeks in advance for like,approval.
Like, you know how that processworks, right?
Yeah.
And then, uh, but I'm like, Igotta make decks for the video.
Like, I have to suggest D butlike, I don't know what the
meta's gonna look like threeweeks from now, two weeks from
now.
Like, I don't know, like, Igotta try and make something
kind of cool.
So I, I tried to really cook andI was stressed about it.
(43:23):
I was like, I gotta cooksomething.
Cool, man.
I cooked a Nomura deck and in mytesting I got her to like over
30 something power.
Oh wait, thirty's.
Cozy (43:31):
That's a hot call.
Alex (43:32):
I like
Cozy (43:33):
that
Alex (43:33):
call.
Yes buddy, because I got FrankieRenova.
I had like, you can use SymbioteSpider-Man on top of Frankie Ray
and the power of Symbiote andFrankie Ray gets doubled and
then you Nomura.
And then when you Odin theNomura, what happens is, is Odin
comes down Nomura.
Buffs Frankie Ray, and thenFrankie Ray checks the condition
of Odin.
So you double dip on the mo uh,Nomura Effect.
(43:54):
I like it.
The only thing holding this cardback right now is the fact that
it just dies to CannonballAnders and all that stuff.
Oh dude.
And the other major challenges.
Oh, the Canonball
Cozy (44:01):
Bs still there.
The Mercury Cannonball thing.
Alex (44:03):
Yeah, a hundred
Cozy (44:04):
percent.
The big thing
Alex (44:05):
is right now it's running
Fenris, so Fenner Fenris,
Cannonball and Mercury.
So they'll destroy your FrankieRay and bring it back.
So like it's pretty savageactually, to be honest with you,
Frank, uh, not Frankie Ray,sorry.
Fenris might be the most agelike fine wine card.
No way in the last year.
It is aging particularly well, but yeah, I, I really like
Frankie Ray Nova.
I think it's a fun card and youdid touch on a very important
(44:25):
thing.
There was just so muchcompetition at the two spot.
Thankfully, not thankfully, depending on which side of the
fence you're on.
Mr.
Fantastic.
We moved to a three, doesalleviate a little bit and I, I
should mention Surge got nerfed.
I dunno if you realize this, itgot nerfed still same effect,
but it's just a two one.
It's much, that's probably fair,honestly, but still.
At the two cost.
It does give a little more spacefor Frankie, but she has her
(44:46):
very niche role.
Cozy (44:48):
First of all, the Testco
three is ridiculous.
I think that's crazy.
I get why they had to do it, Iguess.
But also it's just like we areat the point now where it's so
obvious if a card feels likeit's really, really good by
itself, not with like anothercombo card, but by itself it's
gonna get ner.
Like, I think we can now justknow that forever.
Alex (45:04):
No.
The thing that concerns me, andI, I brought this up in my OTA
video, I'm glad we have a chanceto talk about it, is that, um, I
think they should havecommunicated while it was still
in the season pass, even likewithin the last few days of the
season pass, like, hey, beforethis hits Snap packs and before
you spend six K tokens on it orwhatever.
For players who don't buy seasonpass, like, just so you know,
it's on the watch list or weintend on nerfing, uh, you know,
(45:26):
the season pass card come thenext OTA because it comes out,
it has like a 50% meta share.
It drops in the Snap packs and acard with 50% meta share, you
feel obligated to own it like afree to play player or anybody
who's not just gorging on thegame.
Right?
Let's be honest, um, with theamount, amount of cards being
released, like you just, you runoutta resources so fast, the
(45:47):
card comes out, it's in the Snaphacks for a week or two, and
then it's boom nerfed, and whileI get, they have to keep the
health of the meta in check.
There's no way, after weeks andweeks and entire month of the
season, they didn't have theinternal data to say, Hey, like,
we gotta, we're gonna have tonerf this.
Like, that's not a decision.
You're, you know, you're notsitting there one night like.
I think Mr.
Fantastic needs to be a threedrop.
(46:08):
That just doesn't happen.
Like you obviously know inadvance that's gonna happen.
Right.
So, I would maybe like to seeimprovement there because we're
at a point where there's in thisgame where you have to do right
by the people that are stillplaying.
'cause there's still playing andthere's fewer of them.
So do you just feel like, takecare of'em,
Cozy (46:24):
they can keep doing this,
I guess like, let's say like,
uh, they do another kid Omegasituation.
I don't know.
Right.
Is it just the same thingthough?
Like we have like the peopleupset and then they come like,
you know, everyone just kindamoves on.
You know what I mean?
Like how many times could they.
Realistically how many timesthey can keep doing it.
I guess they're going, it's likethat's the, that's the
unsettling point.
Alex (46:43):
It's a good question.
I'll tell you right now, Idefinitely see in my numbers a
massive reduction in, uh, theplayer base.
I see a massive reduction inviewership.
Um, I can't speak on officialstats or anything, but I can
tell you that from myperspective it would look like
Marvel Snap has seen a majorexodus of players in particular
(47:03):
since the Kid Omega situation.
I can see them, my numbers andI'm sure others can as well.
So how many times can they dothis?
I guess until we're the onlyones left.
But that's not sustainable,right?
I don't, I can foresee them notdoing the kid Omega situation
again.
I think that was probably a stepin a bridge too far.
And I think they realized that.
But everything's about, like, italmost feels like that death by
(47:26):
a thousand cuts situation wherethey're gonna continue trying to
figure out where they can makemoney and that's absolutely
fine.
It is a business after all, butI'm concerned about the long
term health of the game whenstuff like this, like very
avoidable small things like goodfaith gestures of like, Hey,
it's the last week of the seasonjust before the sensor Snap,
enter, Snap hacks like thiscard's on the docket to get
(47:48):
nerfed or like.
A refund based system, which I,it's not quite the same as like
hearthstone's refund basedsystem where you get your dust
back.
Because I think they did balancepatches way less frequently.
Marvel Snap's, cadence forbalance is so much more
aggressive that like, you knowwhat I mean?
Like, it's, it's, it's harder todo that.
I, I understand.
But at the same time, I, I feelfor the players that invested
(48:09):
6,000 tokens where tokens areextremely hard to come by and
then all of a sudden the cardgets like a, a very legitimate
Nerf, like the surge Nerf iswhatever, two, two to two, one,
whatever.
But from two costs of threecosts on a card that affects
each end of turn.
That is a very significant, asizable Nerf.
I just wish it was done better.
(48:29):
Yeah.
It hits you with
Cozy (48:30):
that whole like Smite
League of Legends where they
would release like a crazy hero.
People would buy it.
Oh yeah.
And then they would Nerf fromthe next thing.
Here's how the storm did thattoo.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, you know that.
And it was like that, that wouldhit hard.
'cause it was the same thing, like people bought it for what
it was.
Right.
But I, it, but, and then it'salso, it's like, it's tough
'cause like you want cars to bemedium good in Snap.
Like if, if you love a card andit's a 10 outta 10, don't love
(48:52):
it.
'cause it'll be gone.
Right?
So you want your car to be likea seven outta 10, and then
you're cooking right Then, thenit's like, okay, you're right in
that perfect ground, I guess.
But yeah man.
So what, what's our next card?
Alex (49:04):
Next card?
Okay, I think we've gotta talkabout Redshift now.
Cozy (49:08):
Redshift, okay.
Alex (49:10):
There's so many cards,
Cozy (49:11):
bro, by the way.
What the hell?
There's so many, man.
I
Alex (49:13):
know, bro.
That's a, that's a conversationfor another day.
We gotta talk about day cardreleased and what's going on,
but, um, yeah, two threeRedshift on reveal.
Discard the leftmost card inyour hand.
Oh.
To add a random card with thesame cost to your hand, bro.
Wait.
Already know there's oneparticular card, one old lady
who loves this, bro, I made a
Cozy (49:33):
lot of videos on this
lady.
I was, I immediately left.
Most I go, I was like, Thanos, wait, no, Agatha boom.
Is this an Agatha card?
Oh, buddy.
You wouldn't even believe how
Alex (49:42):
good Agatha is with this
card.
Cozy (49:43):
Oh, I'm sure, bro.
The fact that you, now, first ofall, they change Agatha to be
like the other, every other tearthing.
But secondly, bro, this is just, this is just the sauce brother.
Like the, the fact that you candiscard her, bring her back with
Ghost Rider or whatever.
But then you also get the randomcost car to continue to fuel the
deck that this is
Alex (50:02):
awesome.
What would like, okay, so weknow Agatha's always been sus
and you want to, you wanna likeAgatha, but you know, you can't,
what do you think?
I'm putting you on the spot.
Okay.
Like, what do you think, if youhad to guess for a million
dollars, the win percentage of atop performing guy, don't you
cheat?
I see.
Don't you cheat?
What do you think?
No.
Do you think it is aga the deckwith Redshift?
(50:23):
I don't
Cozy (50:23):
even know how to cheat.
The.
A a, a wind percentage of aregular Agatha deck.
Right now, dude?
No, no.
With
Alex (50:33):
Redshift.
Redshift Aggregate.
Yeah, with Redshift.
What do you think it's
Cozy (50:35):
running right now?
Okay, so like, because I'mexpecting higher than normal
because you're like, it's good.
That would be correct.
I'm gonna go 55%,
Alex (50:45):
58.4% right now.
An
Cozy (50:48):
Agatha deck is so for an A
of the deck.
What the fuck?
Alex (50:51):
And at one point last week
it broke 60% dude as a meme car
deck.
It's not a meme anymore, man.
Red, uh, at Black Knight,Agatha.
Think about it, you Black Knightone, Redshift drops Agatha.
You have a massive Ebony bladein your hand.
Andhas gone.
You go shryer it, like it.
The power of puts and it's atwo,
Cozy (51:10):
three is what you, I
agatha at 58% is something I
don't think I ever thought Iwould see in the game.
Alex (51:18):
I know, and actually I was
playing.
I've been thoroughly enjoyingplaying.
Oh shit.
It's fun.
The only heartbreaking thing isthat like she steals the booster
still, and I've mentioned thisin the past where I'm pretty
sure you might remember this.
This was an alpha when theymentioned the reason why, maybe
you remember, and I'm just kindof hazy with it.
The development teams hadinternally, they had to
incorporate Agatha stealingboosters because they figured
(51:38):
out an exploit early on inMarvel Snap's Alpha, where you
could farm boosters with herlike on ladder.
Remember when the ladder used tojust, not the ladder, but the
season boxes?
Well, you could just macro, youcould just
Cozy (51:48):
macro it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You just start a game.
Even if you win or lose, youjust let Agatha play it out or
whatever.
But they Yeah, but they couldget rid of that now'cause you
have to play her, or like youhave to play for her other tune.
So they could just get rid ofthat now.
Alex (52:01):
Yeah.
And the season pass, like thecrates only go up to a hundred
or something now.
Right.
They, they used to be unlimited.
Yeah.
Right.
Yeah, that's
Cozy (52:07):
true.
Yeah.
They should definitely changethat.
That is a bomb that shecurrently takes.
That is he used.
So outside of Agatha, my, no, heis not because I'm, no, my
thought was like, can't you, like, now that we're getting so
many of these discard cards, can't we just like, is there
like, um, is like proxima andwolverine and all those, like
discard kind of like play thingsworking out or no?
(52:30):
Is that still?
Alex (52:31):
So I've actually looked
into that.
Honestly, there's almost nogames on it.
Like there's no stats or thoseright now.
Why?
Because I think people are soobsessed with the Agatha
variation of it right now.
Yeah.
Um, but intuitively it's tricky.
While there are gonna becircumstances where discarding
from the left side of yourhand's gonna be beneficial,
cards that are discarded land onthe right.
So he kind of finds himself atodds, right.
(52:53):
With like what your general gameplan is.
Cozy (52:55):
So what happened after
Agatha Weight?
Who, who's next?
Alex (52:58):
Okay, so the next card I
guess TerraX would be the next
one to talk about.
And, uh, I'm, let me read thisguy here.
I don't wanna say, okay, I'm notgonna say anything.
I have, I have an opinion onTerraX.
It's hot.
That's a hot three.
Three
Cozy (53:10):
four.
Three four.
TerraX.
The tamer on reveal for eachlocation.
Shuffle a rock into the losingplayer's deck.
So this, before I say anything, this looks at location one.
If you're winning a losing, andthen that person gets a rock.
Location.
Two, yes.
Winning or losing.
So it's all individually.
Oh.
Annie's a three, four.
(53:30):
Wait, why is this not justcracked?
Wait, I like this card a lot.
If you play this, especiallylike, again, iron, patriot,
whatever you play this withpriority winning cards.
Okay.
Why would you not just playthose cards into this, into Dark
Hawk?
Why like, that just seems like abusted ass day.
Alex (53:46):
So I like what you're
saying and I actually love this
card.
And it's funny because Dexterand I were talking about how we
both loved this card andseemingly everyone else hated
it.
And it's interesting because thedark Hawk Dex that I was playing
were performing really well, andyet he actually was a three
three.
He statistically wasn'tperforming well internally.
(54:06):
They buffed him to a three fourin the most recent OTA.
They buffed him.
Oh, they buff him to a threefour, a little
Cozy (54:11):
bit less enticing, but
three, four.
It helps you win that priorityand he's good value and
Alex (54:18):
you clog.
There's a very important thingthough with TerraX that isn't
inherently obvious until youplay it.
Okay.
First of all, apparently theydidn't have enough time to put
an animation in, which is kindof hilarious and maybe
indicative of the amount ofcards they've been releasing
lately.
Yeah, that's a whole otherconversation.
It's like the fourth time we'vereferenced that.
But with TerraX specifically, ifyou have initiative going into
the turn, his power is appliedto the location while your
(54:41):
opponent's card is faced down.
So you automatically providedyou some gaps.
Oh, priorities.
The three or four power.
Oh yeah.
So if you have priority, he's,his power gets applied and then
the condition is checked.
So he often just wins hislocation naturally.
This seems good.
Like I like it.
Yeah, I like this card a lot.
It's not seeing much play, it'swin rates flat 50.
(55:02):
I just like it.
Do you
Cozy (55:03):
remember when Iron Patriot
came out and we were like, man,
I hope they do more winninglocations once.
'cause there's such, it's such afun, engaging mechanic.
Look at how many we have now.
I mean, like Yeah.
Glasses.
Yeah.
Seriously.
And because it is, it's, it is agame within a game.
It's a more engaging.
Uh, mechanic and it's a way toreally utilize three locations.
He's cool, man.
Three, four.
I like him a lot better too.
(55:24):
Uh, I think, I think this guy'sgonna age plenty fine.
Alex (55:27):
Yeah.
I, I like him.
Um, I think that, uh, like darkhawk shells as a whole might be
a little shoddy.
Uh, this was a nice littleinfusion of something for them.
Is it good enough?
I'm not sure, but, um, I mean,time will tell, but I, I
actually do like the card.
I would prefer if it had ananimation though.
That'd be great.
Is that all the new cardsoutside of the one coming out?
Uh, yeah, pretty much.
(55:49):
The only thing I guess missingis, uh, the fallen one, which is
gonna be coming out, uh, thisweek.
Tomorrow.
Cozy (55:55):
Yeah.
So we have the fallen one.
Let's pull this up.
We'll look at it together.
The follow 1, 5 5 on reveal.
Set your max energy equal tothis card's power.
Oh, yo.
What?
Okay, so five, five.
Is this why Reed got nerfed?
Um, like I get, right?
(56:17):
Like, I don't know.
I guess you could still utilize'em a little bit there, but
yeah.
I don't know as a five and yetto build it up and make sure it
works.
I mean, those, those cardincreasing, uh, the power
increasing cards are justexponentially getting better.
I think this is a cool card.
Alex (56:34):
It's definitely a cool
card.
Also, I, so sorry.
Like the tone of the last wholelike 30 minutes has been like, I
also don't know how this card'sgonna perform now, just so you
know.
Right.
Like, this card's not out yet, this guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
No, no, I, yeah, yeah.
No, that's fair.
No, I think you asked me like,we were talking about the, the,
the other cards.
I would
Cozy (56:50):
say very true.
I would say this hits in the uh,remember we always talk about,
you have like one side, you havethe scale from right to left.
You have fun card, you have metacard, and then there's like,
there's scales in the middle.
And if it leans too much oneside, then you know it's gonna
be that.
And then sometimes they're like, well, infinity old Sean, let's
make'em now from fun to good.
And they look at all thesethings.
I think he is more on the sideof fun, but is still can be good
(57:12):
in the right situations.
Alex (57:14):
So what star rating would
you give this card initially?
Hmm.
Cozy (57:17):
Geez, dude.
Uh, I'm putting
Alex (57:19):
you on the
Cozy (57:19):
spot
Alex (57:20):
this
Cozy (57:20):
week, dude.
Yeah.
Well, if I know, man, yeah, goahead.
Alex (57:24):
Okay.
I think he's gonna be a two starweek one.
Cozy (57:27):
Okay.
Alex (57:27):
And then I think that
someone's gonna figure out a
pretty decent deck for him wherehe, you are almost gonna be
enticed to get fallen one, but Idon't think he's ultimately
gonna be worth it.
Do, and I don't care if you canget to like, oh, you have turned
six with like 12 energy.
I don't think it matters.
I, I don't, I'm a littleconcerned at the viability of
this card, especially with howtempo oriented Marvel Snap has
become.
I don't think you could punt onlike, turn four to play Surey,
(57:50):
turn five, fall in one for the10 power.
Like, it's just, I don't thinkyou can, I don't know.
And I have a, there's anothercard I wanna talk about too,
which I think eats its lunch.
Cozy (57:59):
I think the main thing
with this is, ever since me and
you, we were live togetherhaving, uh, old fashioned ever
since we got duped by ScarletSpider way back when, I feel
like ever since then I've alwayslike scaled my expectations for
anything that needs power.
Like outside of like, you know,to, to do things right.
Especially the higher cost yougo.
Uh, I would say I think thatthis car can automatically do
(58:21):
something fun with agony.
Uh, you know, you can do so'cause right when you just play
that into it and then you couldget that power, yep.
Does agony shift though with itbefore it does the power on the,
on reveal?
Oh,
Alex (58:32):
that's a good question.
Agony is on, the agony is on thefield to play.
I'm not actually sure how thatin that interaction will occur.
So you, I, I'm not sure.
Cozy (58:39):
So you got that.
You can maybe do gwenpoolwhatever.
I, yeah, dude, I, again, I thinkif you had like, this side, how
do I do this?
This side is meta, this side isfun.
I think it's like, here, I thinkit's more fun, but I think in
the right ways it can win.
But it's not gonna be like, Ithink I, yeah, I think I, I, I
think I have it like a threethough.
Maybe a two.
Okay.
Like a, like, I don't know bro.
(59:00):
It's a five's pretty tough.
Maybe.
Maybe a two and a half.
Alex (59:03):
I think that someone
somewhere is gonna figure out a
cool deck, right?
It's gonna happen.
I think there's gonna be a cookavailable where it's gonna seem
good.
The only thing is I think someof like the more synergistic
cards, like people talk aboutsurey with this card.
But like if you surey red skulltaskmaster, that's not even
played and that's probably justa better line.
You know what I mean?
Like Yeah.
Uh, and the other thing is that,um, we do have a lot of buff
(59:24):
decks that are performingparticularly well.
Like you do have cards, like aKoi surge, obviously Mr.
Fanta, you have GalacticGwenpool.
They're all seeing play, likeyou talked about Symbio sorry,
we talked about SymbioSpider-Man.
Prior, you talked about Scarlet.
But Scott Spire is legitimatelyseeing a little bit of play here
and there, like it's notcompletely out on its own
anymore.
Fast Dose is being unironicallyplayed, and so like, there's
(59:46):
lots of options for this to benaturally played in.
The, the only challenge is whenyou look at those high
performing decks, the carrycards or where the power comes
from is usually like Mr.
Sinister.
It's usually the broods andthose types of things.
And you don't really need thefallen one.
You don't need the insane energyon turn six.
Like it's just doesn't feel asnecessary.
(01:00:08):
Is Herbie Garbage.
No, Herbie's legit.
It's not as good as Fanta was,but it's legit
Cozy (01:00:14):
because I don't hate
Herbie with this.
Right?
Because you have a couple thingsthat could work with it.
Like you could maybe scale itout.
You could also add the power.
Doesn't Herbie add power withone of his things?
Right?
So like, I guess Herbie's kinda
Alex (01:00:24):
interesting post postcard
drop, right?
Cozy (01:00:27):
Oh yeah.
It doesn't add
Alex (01:00:28):
power to the hand.
Cozy (01:00:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right.
So no matter what it would be,it's the on reveal point.
That's kind of weird.
Yeah, I don't know.
I, I think this guy might fivefive is super conservative too.
That means that they tested thisout at 5, 6, 5 7, and it was
probably a little bit tooconsistent.
Clearly.
'cause anything you do to it isgonna, this is still being said,
like every PowerPoint they addto it, it like supercharges the
(01:00:49):
card.
Alex (01:00:50):
Yeah.
We've had a couple cards likethat, right?
Where like the extra power isnotable.
Like actually TerraX is a goodexample of that.
It helps trade the location moreeffectively.
Uh, gladiator was a greatexample of that too, where like
it's, it's just double dippingon what that power does.
Right?
But the other thing that's worthnoting is like.
Is it even worth waving him out?
Not really.
You can't wg it because it setsthe power.
(01:01:11):
Yeah, it doesn't just add power.
Right.
It sets the power, so thedoubling doesn't matter.
But the major problem for me isthat like, why not place Sarah?
Like if you think about it, yes,Sarah's susceptible to Triple M
and whereas this card is notnecessarily the only thing, it
might be susceptible tosomething like a redhawk or
whatever for extra energy.
But with Sarah, if you thinkabout Sarah's effect it
essentially extends like you'rekind of getting free energy.
(01:01:34):
Like you don't see it that way.
Yeah.
You're getting up to three.
You're three reducing the costof every card by one.
That's basically one bonusenergy per card you play.
Cozy (01:01:41):
Yeah.
Right.
So like for Surfer deck, you'reliterally getting paid, playing
three cards.
So you're getting a one free.
Yeah, it's a nine energy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're getting a three one free.
Yeah.
It's just like a gimmick forramps that I don't think we
need, or like extra.
And like there are gonna be waysand cars that can come out, as
we always say, that could becool with how this works, but
there's not a, is there, why amI blanking?
Is there a card that from the, from the when on play it can
(01:02:04):
copy a card in your hand?
Alex (01:02:07):
Yes.
Uh, as for projection.
Cozy (01:02:09):
Yeah.
That was what it was.
I guess maybe that, maybe, buteven that, that's a three,
right?
That's three.
That's a three.
Yeah.
It's like, whatcha doing?
Hate it.
Alex (01:02:15):
You may as well just
lecture or whatever.
Right.
Cozy (01:02:17):
And yeah.
That's not great.
Well, uh, so that hits tomorrowand so Alex will be testing that
over on his, uh, stream.
What a time for me to come back.
Is come back and get this card.
What?
Wait a way to go.
So buddy, we've got the Snapchatmailbag and for those that don't
know if it gets out, so we'regonna be doing for just a little
bit here for the time being Alexand I to make sure that we
(01:02:37):
always have like really goodtopics.
We're gonna do an episode overon my channel and then episode
over on his channel, not at thesame time.
So each week, if it's not on mychannel, that means it's on his
and vice versa.
Uh, and that way we can goextremely long.
You don't have two intros.
It makes a lot more sense for apodcast and every topic makes
sense and it makes sense bothfor both of us.
So that's what we'll be uh,going with.
(01:02:59):
But with that being said, buddy,Snapchat mail back.
We got some good ones besides, Idunno, hit me with like a f You
Cozy.
Why have you been gone so long?
What, what do you got out there?
Alex (01:03:07):
Alright, we got one from
Austin and it reads, Alex,
thanks so much for keeping theSnapchat alive while Cozy is
doing Marvel rival's majorcontent, all the love and
support to you.
Both the guests help keepeverything a little fresh while
Cozy is gone.
But I'd be lying if I said Ican't wait until good old Cozy
is back.
So glad you both are doing welland you are successful.
Cozy (01:03:28):
Thank you.
My guy.
I, yes, and I, I think I saidthanks to the guest, but of
course Alex, keeping the torch, the torch lit goes without being
said the love I have for thisman.
Yeah, I think, you know, we hadRudy Jas on for that one
episode, and I think guests arereally cool.
Contrary to belief, they'repretty hard to line up.
Like, I remember we were gonnabe doing this like years ago and
then like, I think we were eventrying, and then it was like
(01:03:50):
trying to get another person'sschedule with our crazy
schedule.
We're like, that's nuts out andjust didn't work out.
But when one of us is out, Ithink it's amazing and we
certainly want to try to havemore guests on here, uh, for the
future.
But big shout out to you guys.
And again just this is like, almost like therapeutic to me,
man.
I just love talking, Snaptalking.
You know this more than anythingwhen you.
(01:04:12):
Play a game, but it's your work.
Also, that game can lose some ofits joy.
But now because rivals is moreof my work, this is more of my
joy.
Right.
So it's like an interesting, uh,give and take that you have.
But yeah, man just fun.
Good to be back.
Alex (01:04:27):
Yeah.
It's great to have you back.
And, uh, we have two, the twonext ones will be actually
Marvel Snap related.
Uh, JS says they need to startdropping stuff to series three,
like maybe stuff that's been outfor a year, drops to series
three.
Collecting cards just isn't fun.
Cozy (01:04:42):
Yeah.
Thought I think, how do I saythis?
We haven't gotten a lot of newcontent in the game because they
keep going back and trying tofigure out how to make this game
more accessible from the handthat created it themselves.
And so, like, I'm so tired ofthat, right.
Of them.
Like, okay, we found a new wayto, do the card system, but it
took six months of dev work.
(01:05:03):
Whatever.
I agree.
I think there's some really easysolutions to this.
What I don't wanna see is whengames are like quote unquote,
heading to the end of their lifecycle, or, or, or just you can
see negative reviews coming andthings like that.
That's when they're like, oh, webetter do it now.
I, I hope that's decisions madequicker because they quite
literally have such a, a, aneasy paled answer on how to get
(01:05:25):
things on the right track, andlet's just make it more
accessible,
Alex (01:05:28):
yeah, there's no question
about it.
I think that one the mainargument against Marvel Snap
right now and the exhaustion alot of players feel is around
like, can I actually evencontinue playing this game
without spending a legitimatefortune?
Right.
And so, it is, it is a challengethat I hope they try to rectify
and figure out the answer to.
And, uh, Jeremy comes in with asimilar question and it reads,
(01:05:50):
one thing that you guys in thegreater community never seem to
mention is that the game is sohard to come back to, but it's
basically impossible.
As a new player, I startedduring the Esme season and as
much as I love the game, I keepthinking I need to drop it.
I'll let you start with thisone.
Yeah, I think that like the newplayer experience is one of
(01:06:11):
snap's strongest things.
Actually at the start whenyou're playing and you're
unlocking cards at a steadycadence and you're getting fed
these bots and you're climbingthrough rank 30 or whatever, I
actually think that experienceis probably pretty cool.
However, it becomes challengingonce you're thrown into the
general player pool.
And I'm not entirely sure howthe matchmaking works because I
(01:06:32):
haven't, uh, had the experienceof starting a new account since
I started my new account.
But the problem is, is that likeI'll play against players who
are like 6,000 collection level.
And I'm into the 40 thousandsand it's clearly not fair.
And I al, I almost feel badhitting them with like the new
sauce and they're like trying tomake a Punisher ongoing deck
work.
It feels awful.
(01:06:52):
And on occasion I'll, like, ifI'm streaming, I'll like just
give'em the cubes type thing.
Like I'll, I'll be winning inthe last term, but I'll retreat
anyways.
Or something like that just togive it to them.
But like, I think it is veryhard as a new player, especially
when you're thrown into thegeneral play pool and the
catchup mechanics pretty muchdon't exist.
And I think that one of themajor challenges too is that if
the kind of publication and hypecycle of the game is new cards
(01:07:15):
being released, new cards beingreleased, but you don't have a
means to actually reliablyacquire those cards, it's just
gonna cause fatigue for the newplayers.
So Yeah, I agree.
It's, it's a major issue.
Cozy (01:07:25):
Yeah.
I feel like too, as player basesdwindle, that's where that
problem rises even more, right?
Because there's less people, humans that get matched up.
So then it's gonna prioritizehuman v, human matchups.
But that only works if you guys, you know, when you have 40 K
collection, they have six k.
Even though they somehow got to,you know, infinite or wherever
they're at, it just doesn't, itjust, it doesn't it's, it, it
(01:07:48):
becomes just not fair for thatperson with the same access to
the cars that you have.
I think the easiest thing forthem to do is just like, if the
old pool and series concept islike, just scratch that, that,
that one and two I get becausethey want to ease the player
into the game.
Like that was why those weremade everything past that they
should just be unlocked the sameway.
How they, you, you know, how youget'em in the cas, you know,
like pull three cards, but itcatches you all the way up to
(01:08:09):
like six months out like that.
That's just the most like, logical way to make this whole
thing make sense.
And then you get cards byplaying the game.
You're getting players to playthe game.
There's the way you catch up asa new player is that, and then
there's some other ways maybeto, to boost that even more.
But then it feels good to play.
You know, I, I think that's, Idunno an answer potentially.
Alex (01:08:32):
Yeah, I mean there's uh,
there's a lot of different
opportunities that they have toimprove the card acquisition.
It's the tail as old as time.
It's a matter of whether or notthey're actually going to do it.
JC Mellon with the last questionof the day, it's not even a
question.
Cozy, it's a statement JC Mellonsays, for what it's worth,
Stardust is not wearing pants
Cozy (01:08:52):
is not wearing pants.
That's what I said is notwearing pants.
We've come full circle.
So that Triton is, we've gotfull that the Tritton ISS
covering up a lot is what you'retrying to say.
Alex (01:08:59):
Yes.
The Trident is doing a lot ofheavy lifting there.
Cozy (01:09:02):
Uh, on some Reddit post
somewhere that Trit is gone.
Well, bud, all I have to say isjust good to talk to you again.
So much to like word vomit out, that I feel like there's just so
many more conversations to behad and, uh, looking, looking
forward to having thoseconversations and guys.
We've got, man, we got a, i Ialways love the second half of
the year, right?
We got football coming up, wegot the holiday season and just
(01:09:25):
more who even knows what kind ofcars.
Did you see the new movie, bythe way?
Fantastic.
Four.
Alex (01:09:30):
I have not seen it yet.
No.
I, I want to, and I'm actuallylooking forward to Thunderbolts
is almost to the point whereit's gonna be in Disney plus.
It was on the
Cozy (01:09:38):
plane.
It's like one of those things, Ifeel like planes get movies
early, but I think it's close tobeing on Disney Plus.
Alex (01:09:43):
Yeah.
So I, I'm really looking forwardto seeing Thunderbolts.
'cause I heard it was amazingand I actually have heard good
things about Fantastic Four aswell.
That's good.
I haven't had a chance to seeyet.
Um, the cast is great, trying tospend as much time with the kids
as I can.
Cozy (01:09:53):
It looks like it, man.
You're tan than me, which Ithink speaks to China, but also
speaks to how much you've beenoutside, bro.
Alex (01:10:00):
Yeah.
My soccer, right.
Not my soccer.
My daughter has soccertournaments, like literally
every single week I standoutside.
I told you I just stare at thesun all day.
I just battle the sun.
Refuse to wear sunscreen.
Cozy (01:10:09):
Number one thing I get
when people meet me after we
talk about the Snapchat a littlebit is they go.
How does Alex do it?
And I'm like, what do you mean?
And they're like, he's got likeseven kids, and it always goes
up.
The number always goes up.
I'm like, he has 15 kids.
Like, how does he do it?
I'm like, I don't know.
And I, my answer is I don'tknow.
He's just my Superman.
(01:10:30):
Uh, but it's Marvel.
So my gladiator
Alex (01:10:34):
buddy it all, it all
starts with this, listen, if you
wanna know how to do it, this ishow it works.
Okay.
I'm just joking.
I'm, we're talking about twodifferent things.
I think it all starts with the,uh, the, who's the guy who does
the sax?
The oh, oh, uh, uh, the sexy saxguy.
Yeah.
I can't remember.
I can't remember the name.
Oh my gosh.
(01:10:55):
Wham.
No, it's not wham.
It's, oh, it's, is it Robert?
Robert Michaels.
Oh.
From Wham, George Michaels.
George Michaels.
That's it.
It's George Michaels.
Yeah, that you if you wanna knowhow the magic's made you just
turn on some George Michaels andit does the rest,
Cozy (01:11:12):
man.
People I'm sure have missed, missed that beauty.
I were you talking about howyou, how you laid pipe with uh,
Dexter other guests.
Alright guys, well thank you forcoming.
We appreciate you.
We'll be back next week asalways, the two, uh, amigos over
here.
We love you guys.
We'll see you guys till the nextone, guys.
Happy snapping.
