Mikayla bravely opens up about growing up in a chaotic home as one of seven siblings, navigating childhood trauma, and the sexual abuse she endured starting at age six. She shares how the aftermath of that trauma still affects her marriage today and the therapy, tools, and self-awareness that have helped her begin to heal. Mikayla talks about becoming pregnant at 16, what happened when she finally told her mom the truth, and where their relationship stands today. She also reflects on how her skin struggles impacted her self-worth, the importance of learning each other’s love languages in a relationship, and how she and her husband continue to support one another. Mikayla touches on her thoughts on fellow The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt’s appearance on the podcast, then shares what she’s most proud of in herself: becoming the person she needed when she was young.
