Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to Transformation Church Podcast, where we represent God to
the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so
glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe
God will transform your life do Today's message.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Is are you ready for the Word? All right?
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Hebrews chapter number ten. Hebrews Chapter number ten is where
it will be. We're gonna read two pieces of scripture.
It's both in Hebrews. So if you got a Bible, you.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Ain't got to flip a bunch.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
But yeah, Hebrews chapter ten. We're gonna read this. If
you gotta say I.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Got it, there you go.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Hebrews chapter ten.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
The old system under the Law of Moses was only
a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come,
not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system
were repeated.
Speaker 5 (00:59):
Again and again, year after year, but they were never
able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would
have stopped, for the worshippers would have been purified once
for all time. Their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.
But instead those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins
year after year, For it is not possible for the
(01:33):
blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Hebrews
chapter nine, verse eleven says this, So Christ has now
become the high priest over all good things. He has
entered the greater and more perfect tabernacle, which was not
made by human hands, not a part of this created world.
For with his own blood, not the blood of goats
(01:55):
and calves, he entered the most holy place once and
for all, and secured our redemption forever.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
The title of this sermon, if you're taking notes, write
it down.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It had to be the blood. It had to be
the blood. Lord, I thank you so much this morning,
may we get a revelation of the value and significance
and the gift that your blood was to us.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
It's the name of Jesus, we pray. And everybody said amen. Oh.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Now, depending on if you grew up in church or not,
people start talking about the blood of Jesus, its a
little weird. And let me just acknowledge this. There's a
lot of stuff we do in church that church people
act like ain't weird, but definitely is weird.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Just a lot of stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Certain things would be saying you done met people.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
You're like, how you doing, blessed? How you're favored servant
of the Lord most High God? Lifted up with Jehovah.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Job.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
They just start saying something like, I don't know what
you're saying.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
I just asked if I have piece.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Of gum, and you're like, Hallelujah, out to God, praise
and we thank you for the blessed God. He's like, okay,
I was talking to God this past week, super kind God.
But he was saying glory to God every two seconds.
I was like, how you doing, man, He's like, glory
to God.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Just I'm like okay.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
And then he hit another glory to God and say, hey, bro,
you only get three glory to God's to day.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
He got a chill. Okay. I'm just.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
But there's a lot of stuff in the Bible that
we kind of skip over as believers. And one it's
because we ain't never really thought about it, or are
we afraid that if we start thinking about it, we
might spiral, and so we just act like it's not there.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
As a matter of fact.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
One idea I have and I started thinking of what
I want my next book to be. And one idea
I have is based on some Bible studies we did
here at the campus. But the idea is called asking
for a Friend, and the idea is there's a lot
of questions that we have of the Bible that we
don't be asking because it's kind of crazy what's going on.
Let's say, for example, how many you ever.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Heard of Abraham and Isaac in the Bible?
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Just to show of hands, like, yeah, I know Abraham. Okay,
God asked Abraham to kill his son. That's weird, super weird.
But when I said Abraham and I was like, oh, yeah,
you mean the guy that tried to kill his son.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
God asked me to do that. Yeah, super casual, super weird.
And of course, you.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Know, last minute, a little ram in the bush, like
I just kidding, don't do it.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I think that's where that came from.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
He's like, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
So it's like, no, he didn't really ask him to
do it. It was a test.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
He's like, why did them testing with a scan tron
not his son?
Speaker 2 (04:31):
That's a.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
Come on.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Some of y'all missed them scan trouns. I'm not even
gonna lie to you. I took my act. I started
off strong my act. That's the last time I held
a scan trunk I had. But I had took my
act and I went really strong in the first couple pages.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Then I got tired.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
What I do? I just hit all s's on the
rest of that joint. I knew I wouldn't going to college.
Who are playing? Come on, you better get out of here.
Mama had to be up in that act col. I'm like, Mama,
come on, get out of here. What are we doing?
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Anyways? What was I talking about? Oh yeah, God test
in Abraham.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
There's just a lot of stuff in church that we
don't talk about.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
It's kind of crazy. Then one of those one of
the most central ideas of Scripture is the blood of Jesus.
Now we sang all these songs about the blood of Jesus,
and y'all be like, man, the worst em really locked in.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
We told them.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
I told them, seeing those songs, I'm like, hey, we're
doing blood Jesus. It'd be grateful you sing about the
blood Jesus.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
But some of you in those songs were balling your
eyes out. Some of you in those songs were like,
what are we doing what's going on. It's because if
you do not understand the value of the Blood of Jesus.
If you don't understand, I'm gonna jump a little bit
to the.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
End of my sermon. Here's what I've realized.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
You will never understand the value of God choosing you
if you don't understand how much it costs Him to
choose you. See, we don't think about it this way.
We think, oh, yeah, God chose me, It's not that
big of a deal. He could have chose anybody. What
you don't understand is how much it cost him to
(06:13):
choose you, how much it cost him to stay with you,
how much it cost him to keep giving you chance
after chance, and grace after grace and mercy after mercy.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
If you do not.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Understand the blood of Jesus, you cannot understand how valuable
it is that you've been chosen by Him. We spent
seven weeks talking about how important you are and how
much God loves you, and how much value He's placed.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
On your life.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
And I got to the end of this series and realized,
if we do not talk about the Blood.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Of Jesus, you will miss the entire gospel. This is
the idea.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
It's so interesting because I was looking on on YouTube.
There's not a ton of sermons about the Blood of Jesus.
But if you do not talk about the Blood of Jesus,
you cannot to ever understand.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
The gospel message of Jesus.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
It is the central whole concept of it. Be like
driving your car and not knowing there was a gas pedal.
That's how essential it is. Understanding and knowing what the
Blood of Jesus means is like driving a car not
knowing there's a gas pedal and still trying to figure
out what the steering wheel does. But for some reason
(07:28):
we don't talk about it. Well, it's just a little weird,
and we empires what's going on now.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
It's just strange.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
But if you don't understand this, if you don't understand
the value of this, you will never try find the
true gratitude and fuel you need to live the life
He's called.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
You to live.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I want you to write this down if you're taking notes.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
The power to live.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
The life you dream of is only found when you
understand the purpose, the promise, and the power of the
Blood of Jesus.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
You are trying to live everything you're trying.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
To do because I know some of us feel like
the blood Jesus what I got.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
To do with me every day.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
I'm telling you, if you do not understand the gift
that this is in your life, you will never find
the true power, the purpose that you need to live
the life.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
He's called you to live.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
I was thinking about it, and you know, when you
get saved, there is classes and things you go to
and things you start hearing about. And if you were
to give your life to Jesus and go up to
anybody and ask them, all right, what do I need
to do and what do I need to know? I
would be interested to see how quickly some up would
(08:38):
someone would bring up the Blood of Jesus to a
new believer. I know they bring up a good worship playlist,
they bring up reach a Bible, they bring up pray,
they bring up go to a group.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
I would argue, one.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Of the first things we should explain is how valuable
what you got really is, because if you do not
understand the value of it, it will be drastically difficult
and very very hard for you to understand how to
take care of it. All right, I'm gonna tell you
a story don't know if I was gonna tell a
story about a him. Okay, growing up, I always loved watches.
(09:17):
My dad had watches growing up, and I just really
liked it. As a matter of fact, one of the
first watches I got my dad. In our first family photos,
my mom and dad, they were dressed up all nights.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I remember by dad telling me, he said, we went
to J. C.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Penny's to take our family photos. When I was one
years old. My dad and mom had went to Goodwill
and got him a suit in a nice dress, and
my dad bought a Mickey Mouse watch and he put
that Mickey Mouse watch on and he's wearing a first
family photo. I'm sitting there in the photo. And so
from that moment, I always liked watches. Well, there's definitely
different levels of watches. Anybody who know this, You may
(09:49):
not know nothing about watches, but you know.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I know some levels of watches.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Well, there's a watch called a Rolex. What Relexes are expensive.
I always wanted a Rowlex, but you know, my bank
account didn't want a Rowlex. It was a different difference
between those two things.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I'll never forget.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
It was a friend I had and I had this
one watch. I still wear it to this day.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I had this watch.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
It looked like it was a Rolex, but it was
not a Rolex. I got it from we were getting
our watch from the good Will. I guess I got
my watch from the good Will and.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
The clasp was broken. So I would take the watch.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Onto myself every day, like I would take it off,
tape it on, and then every day I'd have to
untape it and take it off, and.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I'll never forget.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
I had this friend come to me and he was like,
hey man, I'm gonna give you something.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
I was like, all right.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
He sat down and he just told He gave this long,
beautiful thing about how much you know I've helped him
and all these different things, and it's like so I
really felt like I wanted to give you this watch.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
And I was like okay, And he pulled out this box.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Now I'll study watch us. And once I saw this.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Box, I thought, oh shit.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I opened up the box. It was a Rolex. This
watch I'm wearing right here now.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Some of y'all, because some of y'all already know, y'all
see preachers go down there.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Money and spence.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
My friend gave me just like, be quiet, get out
of here. It's your little YouTube channel.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Well I see he's wearing an expensive watch. Yeah, I
am take a picture. My friend gave it to me. Scrum.
I ain't worried about you.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
That's so dumb, such a stupid thing. Anyways, it makes
you feel any better. These shoes are thrifted, that's so dupe.
But because I know how much the watch costs, even
though it was a gift, how I treat it is
(11:41):
based upon not that it was a gift to me,
but my understanding of how.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Much he had to pay for it.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
So there are some watches when I can't find it,
I'm like, oh, I find a Mickey Mouse watch later,
or I'll just go on Amazon and get one for
twelve dollars.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You can ask my walk my wife.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Anytime I cannot find this watch, I'll be having my
kids in a line, like lined up against the wall,
which one of y'all took my watch.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I'll be split them up, interviewing them in different rooms,
like where was it?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
I know you had it, they told me you took it,
trying to turn them.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Against each other.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Why, because the value of it has me caring for
it In a certain way. In the same way, you
will never understand how valuable your purpose is if you
do not understand what God paid for your purpose, the
value that is placed on your life by what He
(12:37):
paid for it. That's how we understand value is what
value is? What are you willing to.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Pay for it? That's how we know it's nice.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
If you don't talk about the Blood of Jesus, you
don't understand what God did for you. It makes sense
why you would not live with the conviction and the
passion and the boldness that He's trying to give you
because you don't understand how much it cost. It's just purpose.
So it's just life. Oh, it's just it's just whatever. No,
let me tell you something. It was expensive. I'm gonna
(13:06):
do something for a second. I love teaching the Bible study,
and so we gonna get into our Bible study teaching
vibe real quick. So I'm gonna bring up the school
real quick. I'm gonna give you four terms and were
gonna learn about the Blood of Jesus.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
First word you need to know if you're gonna understand
the Blood of Jesus, the first thing you gotta understand.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Is sin, sin. We gotta talk about sin. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Everybody don't want to talk about sin. Saying what's sin
send me feel weird. I'm a sinner?
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Oh I ain't no sinner. Yes you are. We all sinners.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Sinner means you ever made a mistake ever in your life.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
That's all it means.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Sin.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
You have to understand sin. Sin is anything that goes
against God's will, intention, and design for your life, and.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
It takes from your life.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
I gave you an official defintie anything that goes against
God's will, design, or intention, and it separates us from
His presence. Sin, the original word, is an archery term.
It means if you were shooting a bow and arrow
and you didn't hit exactly in the middle of the target,
you sinned. You missed. All sin means is you missed.
You missed being kind to your friend, You missed doing
(14:09):
what you said you were going to do. You missed
having a kind thought towards your neighbor. We all sin,
the Bible.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Says, for all have sinned and fallen short of the
glory of God. So we have sin, then we have holiness.
This other word.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
You need to understand holiness. God is holy. That means
completely set apart. This is the definition I wrote down holiness.
God's absolute uniqueness, purity, and perfection that sets him apart.
He is utterly other, morally flawless, and infinitely glorious.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
So you have our sin.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
We sin, we make mistakes, we do things we don't
want to do.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
We sin.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Then you have God's holiness, which because He is so perfect,
so holy, so glorious, he cannot be close to or
associated with sin.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
He cannot not like. It's kind of like a no,
It's like oil and water. It don't mix. He is
the sun.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
If sin gets too close, it burns up, catches on fire.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Go with me, okay.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Then we have this word righteous. Get you another dirt,
Write down all these words. You gonna go home and
study all these words twenty points if you remember all
four when you get here next week. Righteousness the state
of being in right standing with God and therefore having
access to the blessing of a relationship with Him.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
May have heard this word, you may not.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Righteous means I am in good standing with God. I
am in good standing, I'm righteous, I am in the
right place. You have sin, you have holiness, You have righteousness.
The last word you need to understand is atonement. Atonement.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
What is this word?
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Payment made to cover sin, restoring the relationship between God
and humanity.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I'm gonna lay this out for you. If you have
a business and you have a business card.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
And you get that card to somebody and they just.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Go start buying stuff like crazy at some point, let's
say it's a credit card.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
What's happening is they are buying stuff like crazy, stuff
they not supposed to be buying, and they buying all
this stuff.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
And the more they buying, you like, hey, bro, what
are you doing. I'm just buying stuff. I'm thought.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
What happens is you get in bad standing with the
credit card company and they gonna call you, hey, we
see your card ten thousand dollars at Sam's Club. Were
gonna need that money. Atonement is I don't care who
ran up the bill. Somebody's gotta pay for it. Somebody's
(16:54):
gotta pay for it.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Here's what happens.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
I'm trying to teach you, because we're gonna land somewhere.
When you sin, when you make a mistake, it is
a bill and someone has to pay.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Because God is holy.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
If you want to get back over here with me,
if you want to talk to me, if you want
to hear my voice, if you want to understand my presence,
if you want to have that moment where we were
just singing and you lifted your hands and you start
your eyes starting to well up with tears, that moment
right there, somebody had to pay for that. Somebody had
to pay for every mistake. So there's sin, there is
(17:26):
God's holiness, and if you want to be righteous, someone
has to atone.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
And here's why you have to understand.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
The blood of Jesus, because without the blood of Jesus,
there's a list of thousands of things that people used
to have to do to close this gap. I'm gonna
teach you some of these, because again I'm trying, you
will never Here's here's the example. It's like if you
a kid and your parents is rich, and you think
y'all always been rich, and your daddy have to show you, hey, brother,
(17:56):
first of all, you ain't rich.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
I'm rich. You have to tell the first of all,
and let me show you.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Let me take you back to where you were born,
let me show.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
You where you go.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
This is what I'm trying to do today. We live
in the richness of God's grace. But if you don't
understand how it used to be, how much it used
to cost, you will never be able to appreciate this.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
So I'm gonna give you seven things. These aren't up
on a screen. This is just seven things. You can
write down one or none of them. But this would
be the state if it had not been for the
blood of Jesus.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Number one, endless animal sacrifices, endless.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Now some of y'all, like Charles had just for the
old times.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
No, you would have goats in your backyard right now,
because to come to church today you would have had
to bring a goat, and you wouldn't have been in
this room. You would have been out there, and I
would have had to walk out there as a pastor.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Of a priest.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Get your goats, come in here and ask God to
forgive you for all of them stuff you did one
at a time.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
I take you go I come in here, sacrifice.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
It, bring back out next, get your goat, come back in.
You don't get to worship, you don't get to lift
your hands, you don't feel the presence of God.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
You don't get to talk to God for yourself. Forget that.
No way, Jose, you ain't talking to God. You are
not a priest. You have not gone through the rituals,
you have not done the things.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
You weren't chosen because only certain people were chosen. You
don't get to be chosen. This whole sermon series does
not exist because you're not chosen.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Only the Levites are chosen.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
So any goosebumps you get that time you felt like
you heard God's voice, throw it out the window because
you have to give animals to pay for the debt.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Your sin is racking up every single day.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
And it's not just once a week, it's not once
a year, it's every day of your life. Bring a goat,
sacrifice it, kill it, do it once a year, once
a day. Why Because only momentarily can you not feel
guilty until tomorrow when you wake up and you feel
guilty again, until you sacrifice another goat. Endless the rest
(20:05):
of your life trying to get what God now gives
you in an instant.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
You don't get that no more.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
No, you don't get to come into the presence of God.
You don't get to feel his presence, you don't get
to hear his voice.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
No, you don't at all, because you've.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Got to pay for what you did, because it's your fault,
nobody else's, and you get what you deserve, endless animal sacrifices.
The high priest is your only access to God, so
you don't get to just start talking to God.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
You don't get to do that. Hey God, Yeah, that
don't exist. If you want to talk to God, you
got to go talk to a priest.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
That's the only way God hears you. You got to
go talk to the priest if you want to have
any conversation with God.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
If it had not been for the blood.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Of Jesus, Number three, six hundred and thirteen laws you
got to follow every single day.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Don't mess up.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
One of them are about the clothing you're wearing and
whether or not the twines have been mixed together with
cotton or silk. Look at all your tags, figure out
if there's any mixed cottons. Don't wear anything that is mixed.
If you do, you are sinful, unrighteous. Get out of
the camp. Get out of the camp. You don't get
to come back until you go get another sacrifice on
(21:21):
top of the daily sacrifice you do to bring a
different one so God can even get close to you.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
You don't get to wear your favorite clothes.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
No, you get to p You gotta find somewhere that
is just single strand do not mess with it, because
if you miss one law, you're unrighteous. One Bible Satan
says in James two nineteen that if you mess up
one of them, you might as well.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Have done all of them.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
I'm trying to paint a picture of you to understand
we living in grace now, but if it wasn't for
his blood, this would be what we do today.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Guilt. Listen to this. One.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Guilt is recycled, never removed.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Your house ever be.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Really dirty, and you don't actually clean it, but you rearrange.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
The mess to make it look more orderly. Come on,
some of you are your car.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
You don't actually throw away everything, but you just got
everything kind of like okay, you know the McDonald's boxes
in this corner and in a trash. This is what
would happen with your guilt. The guilt was always there,
but momentarily the blood of that animal would just lift
it a little bit. Never truly being able to be
(22:35):
free from the guilts that your sin produces something you
feel like man I don't feel guilty. At some point
the life you live it starts to take from you.
I don't care who you are, and this is just
a quick take on culture.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Culture would try to sell you.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
You can do whatever you want, drink whatever you want,
smoke whatever.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
You want, have sex with whoever you want, and you
can just live your life. It don't matter.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
It's just not true. You lie into yourself. Get out
of here. Love you, and that's stupid.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
You don't know who you are.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
You feel embarrassed the things you've done, you don't want
to talk about it, and you're not proud of what
you're doing.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
At some point, it.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Reaches the spot where you are so empty you have
to take more drugs, have sex with more people, have
better parties.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Stop lying to me and you.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
You're gonna have to keep doing that until you either
overdose and die or you realize that stuff has nothing
for you.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
And you need to come to Jesus. It's the truth.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
I love you, and let's stop planning and acting like
you canna have sex with whoever you want, and you
don't wake up feeling empty because nobody.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Really knows you. Get out of here. We gotta talk straight.
Do it. It's awesome. Sex is great.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
I chose to do it with one woman for the
rest of my life, just you know, for the shame
and guilt, because my little emotional self would not have
been able to handle it.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
I told that to Abby. I said, I thank God.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Me and Abby because people don't be testified by the
Me and Abbey were visions when we got married.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Shout out to Jesus.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
We had a couple close calls there, but God, a
couple of close calls, but the Lord brought us through.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Why didn't say that the gay Abby?
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Me and I've been together for ten years and I
thought I could not take I know.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
I remember looking at Abby.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Be like, oh my God, that's the love of my life.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
I could not deal if I having said to somebody
and then waking up and them being gone and I
don't know where you at.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
He just left my house.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
I couldn't do it, no way.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
God knew he kept me for me. He said, yeah,
he ain't gonna be able to handle that.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
It's true, man, tell the truth.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Shame the devil A couple bore.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Forgiveness is never permanent. No permanent forgiveness in your life.
None imagine that in any relationship you value. Now, you
make a mistake with a friend, the coworker, with a spouse,
you forgive me, and they say, for now. That was
(25:20):
God's conversation to you when you made mistakes before the
blood of Jesus. God, I'm sorry I made a mistake.
I didn't know you forgive me.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
For now I do the last one. The curtain.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Is eternally closed between you and God's presence. I want
you to think about whether a follower of Jesus in
this room or listening or not. Anytime you either know
or think you know, you felt God's presence. Sometimes it
feels like a deep emotion in your spirit. Sometimes it
(25:57):
feels like a warm hug. Sometimes it shows up his tears, goosebumps.
At any time you feel like, oh my gosh, I
feel something. I don't know what that is, but it
is greater than me. You don't get that no more,
never again. The only person who gets that is the priest.
And hopefully he ain't been doing nothing he ain't supposed
(26:17):
to be doing because they have a rope tied around
that man and jingle bells on him. And if he
walks in and has messed up in any area of
his life six hundred and thirteen laws. If he's missed
one of them, he steps over the threshold, Bam, dead.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
And people would be standing outside of.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
The Holy of Holies listening for jingle bells, and when
they stopped, they would drag him with the rope out
of the Holy of Holies and get the intern priest
and say, congratulations, you've been promoted.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Because so and so.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Apparently had something.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
We didn't see but God saw. So he's dead and
you gave him your goat. Now you gotta go. You
out a goat and forgiveness. This is what your life
(27:28):
would be right now. Every day sacrifices.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Every day, sheddy and killing animals just to get above
the water of your guilt. Every day feeling like does
God forgive me? Hopefully I don't do anything wrong, Hopefully
I don't miss it. And if you were called into
the ministry, if you were a Levid, you knew that
if I walk in here and I haven't washed my
hands the right number of times, and I haven't burned
(27:55):
the incense the right way, I will step.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
In here and I will die.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
So when it comes to understanding the value of God
choosing you, and.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
We sing songs that the blood.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Of Jesus reaches to the highest mountain and it flows
to the lowest valley. The reason I'm sitting here in
my chair balling my eyes out is because I know
if back then I would have touched that stage and
drop dead, because all have sinned and fallen shorts of
(28:33):
the glory of God, but because of the blood of Jesus,
because he was the eternal payment for everything I have done,
I am doing, and ever will do. I understand the
value of what's been given to me, so I do
not have time to play around with purpose. I do
not have time to make room for my sin, because
(28:56):
I understand I should still be paying for that. You
should still be paying for what you've done. You technically
should still feel all the guilt of all of your
worst decisions, all the darkest moments.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
You deserve those under the law.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
You deserve that feeling, you deserve, the abandonment, you deserve
nobody being there. Because the Bible says the wages of
sin is death.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
And here's the thing people get hung up on that scripture.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
That's not just a Bible scriptures. That is the result
of life. If you keep doing here's what happens. It
causes the death of relationships.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
If you keep talking about.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Your friends and you abandon your friends, and you turn
on your friends solely, all your friends leave you and
there's death in your friendships.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
If you do not know and do it things God's way.
It's not a matter of oh, what does the Bible
gonna do?
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Trust me, this is the way life is set up.
It's just gonna happen to you, whether you believe the
Bible or not.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
This is what it should be right now.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Sacrifices guilts upon guilt, forgiveness lulls. You're following rules, you're
following having to study and prove that you're good enough.
You being able to lift your hands, you be able
to pray in your darkest moment and immediately feel his presence, not.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
A thing if you don't have the blood, not at all.
You don't get it. And some of you are saying,
Charleston feels harsh. Yes, exactly exactly when you.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
Read the Old Testament, this is why people are like.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
This just feels so intense. No, here's what happens.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
If you read the Old Testament, I would encourage you
because one thing I've learned as a pastor is people
have a lot of opinions about stuff they've never actually read.
It'll actually have never actually read the scripture. There are
certain opinions you hold what the Bible says it.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
If I ask you.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Where in the Bible, you would have no idea because
you've never actually read it.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
So I would just encourage you.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
If you're going to hold a strong opinion, just read
it just so you least know.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Now, all, yeah, I read that part. It really is
in there, because I could just be making up stuff.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
You know in there it technically says that you know,
you're supposed to give me a thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Y'all laughing jokers still do this. This hap it all
over the world. Send me a thousand dollars, and I'll
send you a rug that I pray for and it's
gonna heal you.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
I'll see.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
Now we're acting weird because you send some prints in
Africa one thousand dollars and you ain't never got that rug. Okay,
that's the thing, y'all look weird to me about, Okay,
not the rug. In the Old Testament, God is so merciful,
(31:33):
kind and patient with the children of Israel.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
He's like, hey, I create this garden. You can have
anything you want. There's just one tree. Don't touch it.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Like, all right, bet so where that tree at.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
He's like, okay, you touch the tree.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
You gotta have consequences because here's another word you need know.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
God is just.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Me and my wife talked about this. One area we're
trying to grow in is being just parents. Because if
you tell your kid, if you do that, I'm gonna
give you a consequence, and you don't do it, you're.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Not being just. Come on, I'm gonna count two, I'm
gonna count of three.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
I'm a count to eight, I'm aa coount twelve. If
you come, I.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Will count to thirty. You better be over here. It's crazy.
You can be graceful, but also you need.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
To be just.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
And here's why you need to understand that, because some.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Of us feel like, oh, the Old Testaments so intense, God,
so intense. What's up with all the sacrifices.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
If you had a court case and you have been
done wrong, you would pray to God you have a
just judge. You would not want a judge who would
not follow the order of the law, especially if they
created the law. You want a God who is just.
So God was so just. He said, here's what I'm
(32:51):
gonna do. If you do these things, even though you
are a nobody and I randomly chose you out of
all the people on the ar and you are my truck.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
If you do these things, I got you.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
If you read those testament, the way they violate God's
rules is egregious. We didn't reading like he was so
harsh on those people. They literally God sets them free
for four hundred years of slavery. Twenty minutes go by
it and they're like, we're gonna make this gold calf.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Were about to throw a party forget God man, and
He's like, hey, man, let's not do that. They start
doing so many crazy things. Noah, Noah in the arc.
We've been teaching no off in our TC kids. Noah,
get off the arc. Startavinya, get drunk out of his mind.
Come all them animals that many days. It kind of
sends you to a place.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I read that scripture about number like, man, I get it.
You know what I'm saying, because saying this is what
the Bible over and over again.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
They get caught up in the culture of.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
The time and God's like, hey, do not take anything
from that. You need to kill it's all unclean. This
will be arguments you'll watch on YouTube. Have you inspiraled
it on your faith?
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Well, that's so intense. Why would God say that?
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Because the countries they were invading were sacrificing babies to
their made up gods.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
So a just God says, if.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
You're gonna kill my creation over and over again, I
can't let you keep doing that.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
That's why God said some of those. It's not some
ridiculous thing. It is why I'm telling you gotta read
your Bible.
Speaker 4 (34:27):
What am I saying? I'm trying to say.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
The truth is I'm gonna stand up here yelling for
seven weeks now eight and I really genuinely I got
to point this week where I was like, they gonna
have to find out for themselves, because the truth is
I can get up here and yell about how important
you are and read you the Bible, but until you
(34:52):
realize for you, I can't do nothing for you.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
I can help you. That's what I've been trying to do.
That's what I'm trying to show.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
I'm walking you through, like, hey, just so you know
you technically should have walked in with a goat.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
And a sacrifice, and you'd be standing to get a line.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Out there technically, But because of the blood of Jesus,
you walked in here freely.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
You're gonna lift your.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Hands, You're gonna feel his presence, You're gonna pray, and
guess what, he gonna answer your prayer, even though you
ain't even done stuff he asked you to do, because
He's just that kind. When you start to think of
some of that stuff, it brings you a different perspective.
It makes you realize, Oh, I didn't do anything to
get this.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
He freely got.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Me out of something I should be paying for. In
the context of this scripture and this idea, some of
y'all you have a house payment right now.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Somebody walked up and said.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I paid off all your house, you would immediately start shouting, screaming,
and then.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
You would say to this person, watch this, what do
you need?
Speaker 4 (35:55):
I'll do whatever.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
God took all of the guilt you would ever feel
in your life, all the embarrassment you would ever feel
in your life, all of the decisions you would ever
make that would hurt you and hurt those you love,
and He became the eternal atonement that covered your sin,
(36:25):
so you would not have to work so hard the
rest of your life proving to God that you're good enough.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Marid you.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
A scripture, and then were gonna get out of here first. John,
my dear children, I'm writing to you so that you
will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have
an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He's
Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous, and he
(37:02):
himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins, not
only our sins, but the sins of all the world.
This is what's happening in heaven right now. You have
made mistakes that have robbed you of peace, of purpose,
(37:25):
of clarity, and Jesus is in heaven saying, hey, I know, technically,
because of what they did, they should deserve the consequences
of that, but remember I paid for all that, So
instead of doing to them what they deserve, I take
(37:46):
on all the punishment. I didn't do anything wrong, I
didn't deserve it, but I will take on all the
consequences of everything they're ever going to do wrong, so
that you treat me how you should have treat them.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
So you can treat them how you treat me. This
is the gospel.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
God treated Jesus how he should have treated you, so
that he could treat you how he treats Jesus. The
Bible tells us that when God looks at me and you,
he doesn't see you. He sees the covering and the
atonement of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that he who
(38:26):
knew no sin became sin so that you and me
could become the righteousness of Christ. This is the reality
of the grace of God. Every day when you wake up,
God does not see you working and doing good things.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
He says, it's already paid for. You ain't got to
do all that. This is why you.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Have to be set free from the law that still
tries to show up in church. If I give this
money and I do these things that I go to
the outreach, then God will love me.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
God says, no, no, no, I already paid for all that stuff.
You don't have to do that.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
You don't have to do any other thing to prove
to me that you love me, Because the truth is,
the gospel is not about you loving me. The gospel
is about me loving you.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
First John chapter four or versus it nine. Look at this.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
God showed how much he loved us by sending his
one and only son into the world so that we
might have eternal life through him. This is real love,
not that we loved God, but that He loved us
and sin. His son is a sacrifice to take away
(39:38):
our sins. Dear friends, Since God loved us that much,
we surely ought to love each other. One of the
ways you can tell someone completely does not understand the
Gospel and the Blood of Jesus is how judgmental they
are to other people. Because it's very difficult to be
judgmental to other people when you really you are standing
(40:01):
up not under your own strength, and you shouldn't have
anything you have, and you realize, oh wow, I.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Know what I've been through and God's been this kind
to me. I don't deserve any of this.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
So how am I standing here judging someone else assuming
what they are doing to do or don't deserve.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
It's very hard to.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
Judge people when you understand God did more than he
ever had to do. He's been kinder than he would
ever have to be to me. Every day I wake
up the breath of my lungs is not my own.
You're not telling your heart to beat right now, much
(40:47):
less worried about six hundred and thirteen laws and the
fabrics in your clothing, and whether or not your priest
is gonna get your sacrifice done it how many times
you have to wash your hands, and what food you
have to eat and where you have to go. You're
not worried about any of that. You just get to
wake up and live. Because God, the moment man sinned,
(41:15):
the moment man sinned, I'm gonna show it to you.
Genesis chapter number three, starting in verse eleven.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
Who told you were naked? The Lord asked, have you
eaten from the tree of the fruit? I commanded you
not to eat?
Speaker 3 (41:34):
The man replied, it was the woman you gave me, dummy.
Then the Lord God asked the woman, what have you done?
The serpent deceived me, That's why I ate it. Then
the Lord God said to the serpent, because you have
done this, you are cursed more than all the wild animals,
domestic and wild. You will crawl on your belly and
growl in the dust, and I will cause hostility between
(41:56):
you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring,
and will strike your head.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Get this right. I'll read again.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
I will cause hostility between you and the woman, between
your offspring and her offspring.
Speaker 4 (42:09):
He give you a little teaching in the Bible. Capital
h he it's Jesus.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
He will strike your head and you will strike his heel.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
The moment humanity screwed up.
Speaker 3 (42:28):
In the same breath that he is explaining to them
what they've done, he immediately makes the promise of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Immediately from the jump.
Speaker 4 (42:43):
He says, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (42:44):
Why did you eat that? What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (42:46):
Okay, here's the consequences, Satan, this was going to happen
to you. But also you're going to try to bruise
his heel, but he will strike.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
One of the translations says he will crush your head.
God has always had a plan for grace from the beginning.
Speaker 4 (43:03):
I want to give you three quick things. The title
is what to do with the blood?
Speaker 2 (43:07):
How is this.
Speaker 4 (43:07):
Important in your daily life? Three things?
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Write this down? What to do with the blood? The
first thing you do is you got to receive. If
you do not receive the payment that Jesus paid, you
will find yourself working for something that has been given
to you.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
Imagine if you have kids.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Your kid woke up and you came outside and they
were cutting your grass. Some i'n be like, man, that'd
be incredible if I can give my kid to cut
my grass.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Then they come inside.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
They're cleaning the bathrooms, and then they walk into your
closet and they clean up all your clothes, and then
they're doing laundry and they're working, and you say what
are you doing and they say, well, I was just
hoping I could eat today.
Speaker 4 (43:53):
I was just hoping you'd love me enough to give
me some food today.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
You'd say, you don't have to do all of that
to get me to feed you, to love you, to
be in this how you I love, I will do
any of that for you. Yet some of us wake
up and the reason you're reading your Bible is because
you're thinking, God, if I read enough of this book,
that'll prove to you that I love you a lot,
(44:22):
and it'll make me worth you saving. So I'm gonna
show you how much, and I'm going to prove to
you so that.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
You will.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
You haven't received it because you can't do anything about it.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
It's just thank you, that's all it is.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
I'm not saying you don't do those things.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
Let me be very very clear with you, but the
reason you're doing those things is out of recognition.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
He already loves me. I'm already eternally.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Secure, so I can serve him from a place of gratitude.
But I'm not doing this to try to get something
from God. This is why there are spaces and places
in different religions where.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
They tell you you got to pay.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
Money to talk to God. It's a lie, it's not true.
It's a good way to fund a religion, but it's
not true. You can talk to God for yourself. So
you have to receive that because if not, you will
create your own version of the law. Maybe you're not
doing that six hundred and thirteen, but you've got your
(45:26):
own version of the law.
Speaker 2 (45:27):
What you have to do and who you have to be,
and how much you have to pray.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
And if you do all those things, here's what we do,
then we place an unreasonable expectation on God that he
never said. We say, God, I served in church, you
have to answer my prayers, and then you do all
these good things you pray. He doesn't answer your prayers,
and now you're mad at God because you were trying
to hold him to something he wasn't asking you to
do in a way to control him so he could
(45:53):
answer your prayers and treat him like a genie.
Speaker 2 (45:55):
Then he disappoints you.
Speaker 3 (45:57):
Now the devil can attack your faith and say God's
and it's not true. You were living under the law,
and the law only produces the Bible says a reminder and.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
The weight of your sin. We do this all the time.
I did all these good things, so you should do
this for me, not how it works.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
I do all this for you because I love you.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
You have to receive that. You have to receive the blood,
and I said daily thing. The next thing you do
is you gotta rest. You gotta rest. It's covered. You
ever go out to eat with some of your friends
and you're like, oh, I'll cover the bill, and they're like, no, no, no,
don't do that.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
And you know, sometimes you know, if you for me,
I don't even hit the note.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
Don't do that.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
I just be like, thank you, appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Well, I'm gonna argue with you for it to prove that.
I'm like, hey, we got it. I'd be like, hey,
I appreciate you, man, thank you I just received that.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
But some of you will sit there and argue, no, no, no, no,
didn you say I'm gonna go get the waiter. I'm
gonna go, and you'll do that with God? Hey, I
chose you, well, God, come on not just don't don't.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
Let me just get some things together. No, I got it,
Chill you, no, just let me. I gotta do enough good.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
I gotta make sure that I got it covered and
I got chill.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
Calm down.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
You are eternally secured when you put your faith in Jesus,
and you have to remind yourself.
Speaker 2 (47:25):
I can rest in that I do not have to
prove to God how much I love him. What loving
relationship is like that. I don't do.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
Stuff for my wife to prove to her. Hey, just
case you just so you know I'm doing this, So
you know I do it.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
No, I just love you. You know I love you,
and I want to do This is my joy. And
here's what you find yourself doing in a relationship.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
That you start doing stuff that is beyond what they've
asked of you because of how.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Much you love them.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
This is the beauty of a relation. It's not because
you have to do it. You love them so much
you want to do it. This is what church should be.
When it comes to church, even serving in church pre
you talked about today, we have servant leaders that served.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
Here's the truth. And I'll be telling the team this.
I don't want to trick you into serving. So you've
been doing that church sometimes, come on, serve. It'll be amazing.
It'll be easy. It'll be It's not easy.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
There are people up there wrestling two year olds, our
bad two year olds. It's not easy telling the kid
that you can't spake to listen to you.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
Come on, that's difficult. Like you've been listening to you stupid.
You're like, you better go stay there. I ain't standing
in the corll. You ain't my daddy. I will literally
start doing a robot. You're like, I swear se serving
(49:02):
is not an easy thing.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
And when we gonna do serve pushes, I'm never like, yeah, man,
it'll just be super.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
It is.
Speaker 3 (49:10):
You should want to serve because of the contextuff you
realize you know what God gave so much to me.
It'll be my honor to take some time to go
stand in this parking lot and tell people no, not
that spot, the one over the note, not that spot,
the one right there. But I want you serving because
you feel like you gotta serve.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
Well, if I don't serve, what's gonna happen? You know
what's gonna happen. God's gonna be glorified.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
People don't getting saved, and he'll speak to somebody else
to serve.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
But you should wanna serve. It's an overflow, it's a joy.
Your life will change through serving. Ask any serving lated,
I'll tell you no. It reminds me.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
It's a beautiful thing. The stories I get to hear.
But I'm not up here to trick.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
You to serve. You don't want to do. This's on you,
it's not on me. I know it'll help you. I
know it'll change your life.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
But they're not doing it to prove something to God.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
You're doing it because you realize. Hen God, I'm so grateful.
You gotta rest, you gotta receive.
Speaker 3 (50:12):
The last one is you gotta remember, You gotta remember
it's a beautiful thing. One of my favorite things to
do as a parent is you know, on your phone,
it'll pop up and I'll show you these. Even on
social media, pop It'll pop up and show you.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Old memories and I'll raanly pop up.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
And one of my favorite things is when it pops
up an old picture of my kids.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
And it just will come up and it'll be some bald.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
Headed, little light skinned kid and I'm like, oh my gosh,
look how small they used to be.
Speaker 4 (50:48):
Oh my gosh, what's that so special?
Speaker 2 (50:51):
You remember they used to what was that one word?
Speaker 3 (50:53):
Literally, I have a note on my phone of all
the random.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
Words they used to say.
Speaker 3 (51:00):
It's just funny, just random words like right now blue,
she says, blue Sunday, cat calf, and cat calf is
down in my list of words. Because when you start
to remember, it kind of helps you zoom out for
a second and you realize, Man, I really frustrated about this,
(51:25):
But in the grand scheme of the bigger picture, I have.
Speaker 4 (51:29):
So much to be grateful for.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
And the Bible instructs us to remember the blood of Jesus.
And today we're gonna take communion together as a church
as a reminder of the blood of Jesus. And when
you walked in today, they hand you a little cup.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
If you don't have one, you can raise your hand.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
Our ushers have extras for the irresponsible people who lost
theirs in a matter of forty five minutes. I'll give
you a moment to grab that. But Jesus is with
(52:16):
his best friends. Bible tells us he is having a meal.
It's known as the Last Supper, and Jesus knows what's
about to happen, and they don't know.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
And it's his beautiful moment.
Speaker 3 (52:33):
Where he's trying to get them to understand the gravity
of what's happening.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
And I would to encourage you. We're gonna take communion today.
But in church on a service is not the time
you can only take communion.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
Some people feel like, why don't the church be doing
more communion? Because this instruction was not for a church
building on a Sunday.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
It was for a personal believer. Anytime you start.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
To forget the power of the grace that God's given you,
you can go to your house, grab a saltine cracker,
grab whatever you got and something to drink, and you're remembering.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
What God did for you.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
You're remembering God, I thank you that I am not
under the weight and the guilt of what I have done. God,
I thank you that because of You I do not
have to carry the shame of my decisions. God, I
thank you that Lord, I did nothing to deserve every blessing.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
You've given me.
Speaker 3 (53:36):
God, I thank you that because you were beat beyond
recognition and the eternal atonement for my sin. God, I
thank you that I am righteous in you.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
I didn't have to do anything to get it. I
don't have to do anything to keep it. As I
say yes to you, I am.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
Eternally and permanently secure with you.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
I'm gonna read you the scripture.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
I'm gonna ask everyone actually to stand, if you will,
for this moment, and I'm gonna invite the worship team.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
To come up, and we're gonna take communion.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
We're gonna sing one more song, and then we're gonna
be out of here. I'm gonna ask some of you,
it's gonna be the most powerful thing that's happened over
the last eight weeks for you, cause you're gonna find
it's gonna click. Some of you, you've been right there,
You've been right there on Okay, I'm gonna do what
God called me to do, and he chose me. It's important,
But this moment, it's gonna beautiful.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
I want to read you.
Speaker 3 (54:30):
This scripture Matthew twenty six, Verse twenty six. Now, as
they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it,
he broke it.
Speaker 4 (54:46):
And gave it to his disciples.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
Take eat.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
This is my body. Could everybody eat bread? It tastes
nasty on purpose, just to remind you how difficult it
was for God, says And he took a cup, and
(55:14):
when he had given thanks, he gave.
Speaker 4 (55:17):
It to them.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
Drink, all of you.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
This is my blood of covenant, which is poured out
for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
You can drink.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
Take a moment. I'm gonna pray, and I want you
to sing this last song. This song we sang today.
It's a newer song. It's a beautiful song written by
one of my friends. Her name is Tiffany. It's called
the Wonderful Blood. And the lyrics talk about how simple
(55:58):
it is, but it's actually so.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
Divine and beautiful.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
And as we sing this song, I want you to
now sing, to listen to hear these lyrics in the
context of what the reality should be.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
Because you can't sing some.
Speaker 3 (56:14):
Songs without the knowledge of understanding the value of what
we're singing.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
So when we sing Oh, the wonderful blood of Jesus.
You realize, Oh, I didn't know it did all that.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
God.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Right now we say thank you for the blood of Jesus.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
Thank you for your blood. Thank you for doing what
we could not do. God, thank you for shedding that blood,
Lord God, that cleans us, that cleanses us, that makes
us new, that gives us clarity, that can heal us.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
God, right now we are taking a.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
Moment to acknowledge the beauty of the blood of Jesus,
Lord God, that it's that blood that shows us.
Speaker 6 (56:53):
It is that blood that frees us. It's that blood
that heals us. It's that blood that can calm the
anxiety on the inside of us. It's that blood that
can cancel out all of our sin and wrongdoing. It's
that blood that can lift the shame that we've carried.
It's that blood that can give us the power to
live the life we've only dreamed of. God, we thank
you for the wonderful blood of Jesus.
Speaker 4 (57:15):
It's in your name, I pray Amen.
