Speaker 1 (00:00):
After moving into their new home, Karina and her family
begin to experience a different sort of darkness, one that
appeared to have attached to one of them. It all
seemed to lead back to a mirror that was there
when they arrived. My name is Edwin and here is
Karina true scary story.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
My name is Karina.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I live in Houston, Texas.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
So this happened back in June of twenty twenty four.
My husband and I got a rental house. We got
it for a decent price since we had to do
a lot of the update renovation things like that in
the house. We are recently married, so it was just
like to have our own space start our life together
(00:53):
and stuff like that. Being at the door of the
house and you and them opening the just opening the
door and walking through. You're looking around and you're just like,
this house is gonna easy.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Maybe it was just the color of the pain of
the walls.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
It was just like very dark, very dim, gloomy light.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
And as we walked through the house and just checking
it out and being like, Okay, it's gonna be our room,
it's gonna be the guest room, it's gonna be his
gaming room. We were walking to the house and we
noticed that in one of the bedrooms there was a
mirror on the wall. I had already told my husband, well,
I don't like that mirror being there. We should probably
(01:35):
take it down when we start painting. And he's like, no,
this is gonna be my gamer room. We'll just leave
it there. It's gonna be my room. You're not going
to be in here. It's gonna be my man cave.
And I was like, no, I don't want it in
the house.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I don't like it. It just gave me.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It just gave me this weird vibe just it being there.
It was like those antique oval shape looking mirror. Yes,
whenever you looked in the mirror, for me, it was
just like I wasn't quite looking at myself, if that
makes any sense. I just didn't feel comfortable looking at
(02:14):
the mirror.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Just being in the room.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
When you walk into the room, it was just a
bit of an uneasy feeling as well. It felt a
little bit more heavier in that room than the other
rooms in the house. The first week we got in,
we were just recently putting everything up, trying to get
everything together from the move and then with work and
all of that, we were sleeping in the living room
(02:38):
for about the first week until we fixed the floorings,
did the painting and all this stuff to the interior
of the house. The first night I was laying down,
we had the TV next to the bed.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
The lights were off, everything was off. I just looked
in the hallway.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
The hallway was right like when you sit up from
the bed, the hallways like right there. I just felt
somebody looking over, like looking in from the bedrooms over
to like where we were. I couldn't quite sleep very well.
I probably only got maybe I would say, four hours
asleep because I would toss and turn. I would just
(03:16):
not I would just feel like somebody was watching. When
i'd go to the restroom, I'd get my phone, shine
the light and just walk walk over there and walk
right back. Once we got settled in, I was cleaning
in the living room one day. The ceiling fan has
three light bulbs, and one of the light bulbs popped off.
I turned around really quick, and I'm like, what happened?
(03:39):
How did that happen? And my husband was fixing something
in the kitchen and he's just what was it?
Speaker 3 (03:44):
And I was like it was a light bulb.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
The plastic of the light bulb, it was like one
of those led circle lights. It popped off, and I
was more like, this isn't normal. Why is it just
going to pop off all of a sudden. And he
was like, Oh, it's probably just because it's an old
light bulb. They didn't change it.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
What changed them? Later in my mind, I'm thinking, okay,
but I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
A couple weeks past and he gets a phone call
that his sister is in town. He is from Venezuela,
so he is a family. It's a family of six.
He's the youngest. He hadn't seen his sister in about
ten years. He hadn't seen her nor her kids. He
got the call, we drove out about twenty five minutes
(04:34):
to go see them. She was staying with a friend.
We got there, we talked everything like that. The next
day we went over to visit again. And this was
a Thursday. I suggested to her like, hey, you guys,
we have extra rooms at the house. You guys should
come over and stay with us. Maybe you can find
she could find some work or something on this side
(04:55):
of town. It's still summertime, so the kids didn't have
to go to school just yet, just to spend time
and ketchup.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
She decided, okay, yeah, we'll go over there.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
They came. It was that Thursday night. They settled into
one of the rooms we had an extra bed, and
the next morning we leave at about nine am this Friday,
it was actually my day off.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
We're leaving in the morning.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
My car's parked in front of my husband's truck and
we have a little like a little shed carport area
on the side of our house. And my nephew points
to the side of the truck and he's like, yeah,
that aunt in English, did you see that?
Speaker 3 (05:36):
There's a dead cat?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
And I'm like where, and he's like, look, there's a
dead cat next to the truck. I didn't believe him.
I thought he was just joking because this is the
older one. Is my older nephew. He's fifteen, and he
jokes a lot. He likes to joke a lot and
play around, both of them do. So I was like,
let me see. So I went up to the side
of the truck and there's a black bag thrown on
(05:59):
the side of the truck with a cat that is
curled up in a like a perfect circle and it
was dead. My thought was, how the heck did it
even get there? Why is it even there? I didn't
(06:19):
know what to say. I was more like speechless. I
was just confused and I didn't think much of it.
And I was like, Eh, okay, we're just gonna brush
it off. Later on that evening, we're all in the
living room. In my living room, I have pictures of
my husband and I from our wedding. We're sitting on
(06:40):
the couch just watching TV, just talking. The picture frame
falls straight down. It falls straight down from the wall
and hits the floor and it stays standing.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Didn't tip over, did it nothing?
Speaker 2 (06:55):
And I look up to the wall and we all
looked to like see, like what was that. I look
up and I'm like, the thumbtach.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Is still in the wall.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Normally, when that's something like that happens, it's gonna break
or if it was a nail, it's gonna come out
of the wall. I tell my husband, I said, I
think we have something in this house.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Jokingly.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I was joking with him, and he's like, oh in Spanish,
he's like.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
You and your ghost stories.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I'm like, you never know, then, things little things here
and there, like the creaking of the floor.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
We would hear it.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
We would hear if somebody was maybe walking around in
the living room area.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I did have a camera in my living room.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
It would detect motion and it would catch little video
clips and it would say person detected. And the thing is,
there's nobody in the videos. We'd go back on them.
There's nothing there. I do have two small dogs, but
my small dogs are in the kennel. It's nowhere near
the camera, so it's not in view.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
It.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
My older nephew when he got here, he was a
very angry, angry person.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
He was just so angry.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
He just it's like for every little thing, he just
wanted to fight with somebody and just want to argue
with somebody and argue with his mom. One day, it
just got completely out of hand where he was just
just acting out and just wanting to like, no, don't
talk to me, just leave me alone. I don't want
to talk to nobody. Just whatever. Close himself in the room.
So we sat down and we talked to him. We
(08:33):
took away his phone because sometimes it's just like kids
don't understand if you don't take away their electronics. She
took away his phone, and we're sitting there and we're
talking to him, and he's sitting on the edge of
the bed.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
But when you're looking, if you were to have looked
at him, his face was not him.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
He seemed to be a completely different person, like an
older man or an older person. He has a little
piece of paper in his hand and he's just ripping it.
You could just hear the paper ripping and ripping to
where there was nothing left in his hand. And we're
talking to him and his moms. Are you understanding me?
Are understanding what I'm telling you? He wouldn't respond, but
(09:15):
he was looking down. And then once we said his name,
it's like he snapped out of it and he was like, what, Like,
why are.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
You getting mad at me?
Speaker 2 (09:26):
It wasn't him, He wasn't even he wasn't even here.
He didn't know why we were getting mad at him,
didn't understand nothing. I was like, we noticed it. We
didn't say too much. We were just like, Okay, there
has to be an explanation for all this. The next day,
we're in the kids room.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
We are.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Just laughing and talking and giggling and making jokes with
each other. If you were to enter into the room.
Next to their room is our bedroom. So from our walk,
our doorway and their doorway make like an L. So
it's like an l angle where my husband standing at
(10:09):
the doorway of our room, my nephew is up against
that same wall where the doorway is, my sister and
all standing at the doorway.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
I'm in the room towards the wall that I can't see.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
I can see out that I can only see out
into the little hallway that's there because my hallway makes
like an L shape. So it was just like a
family moment. We were all having a good time. My
sister and all was like, oh, my stomach hurts from
all this laughing. I'm starting to get hungry.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
I'm gonna go make something to eat. Are you all hungry?
So we're like, oh, yeah, we're hungry, we're hungry.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
As she's walking to the to the kitchen and the
little hallway area up against the restroom door, I had
placed the oculus that oculus you put on your eyes
and you have the little controllers in your hand kind
of thing, the virtual the virtual thing.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
I had that on top of the chair.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
And I specifically put it in a position to where
it wouldn't fall. You would have had to literally pick
it up and place it somewhere else or move the chair.
So as my sister walks through the walkway, halfway through
the hallway, my husband and my nephew see where the
(11:27):
control gets thrown at my sister in law and you
just hear the controller hit the floor.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I was like, WHOA, what's that?
Speaker 2 (11:37):
And my husband and my nephew had this look on
their face like what just happened?
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Like how did that just get thrown? How did that
just happen? I get up, I.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Go to the living room. My sister and I was
coming out of the kitchen. The only thing we see
is that this controller is finishing its spin in it
that we all are around this controller trying to figure out, like,
what the heck just happened.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
As we're looking at it, I look up and that.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Same picture frame that had fallen prior is now tilting
side to side, and I'm like, yeah, definitely we have
something in this house. Something has to be in this house.
I don't know what it is, but we need to
be careful. We're all trying to figure out, Okay, where
(12:36):
was the cat? At did the cat accidentally knock this
controller over who was next to the door of the restroom.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Nobody.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
We were all accounted for exactly where we all were.
So my husband jokingly he was like, oha, meaning we
have a ghost here with ghosts to start paying red
And I'm like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
You right, he does he or she does because it's
not free.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
So from then on, like, I noticed that my nephew
and my husband, the oldest one, he's fifteen.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
He's here with me, he as well.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
They start bumping heads when I say that, they start arguing,
and they just start My husband's just oh my gosh,
I just can't stand him. I can't stand him in
his attitude. I just can't no more. My nephew is
just like getting like getting aggressive with him, like being
in his faith or what are you gonna do?
Speaker 3 (13:41):
And things like that.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
And I called up my mother in law and I'm
just telling her like, hey, this is what's going on
with both of them. What can I do or maybe
we can say a prayer something to get them to stop,
because they were getting to a point where my sister
was there right just you know what, maybe we should
just leave.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Maybe we don't need to be here.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Being the he's he comes from a big family, but
when he came here to the United States about four
years ago, he didn't have no family. I was like, no,
you guys need to stay, don't go. We're gonna figure
something out. We'll figure it out. So one day they
just they got faced to each other to where one
(14:24):
of them was gonna end up. One of them was
gonna end up throwing a punch. First, I just said,
my husband, you know what, come on, just calm down,
Let's go to the room.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Just calm down.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
My nephew went to his room, he went to our room.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
My mother in law tells me she did tell me
to do an egg cleanse. So I did an egg
cleanse on everybody here in the house, because if you
do for one, you gotta do for all. Because of
the energy I can attract to somebody else. I had
sent them to her so she couldn't maybe help me
read them. She tells me that my nephew has something
(14:58):
dark attached to him and we need to be careful.
My husband has a white light, meaning that he's protected
so white with the darkness and the light. Herliking a lot,
and I was like, ah, that makes more sense. Now
it's making more sense as to why they're being so
(15:19):
mean with each other. So I do cleanse on them.
I'm just like, okay, maybe everything's gonna be okay. So
things were okay for a while. I was at work,
we were all at work, my nephews were here at home.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
We had the camera in the living room.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
I kept seeing motion detective, but I wasn't quite sure
what was going on. Maybe it's just because you know,
it'll catch the detection of my cat or my dog.
So I wasn't too worried about it. So my husband
calls me and he says, hey, have you checked the cameras.
I said, no, what happened? And he's like, well, the
(15:56):
boys were trying to get my attention on the camera
because they didn't have their phones, so they're trying to
get my attention on the camera, your attention because they're scared.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
I said, what happened? And he says, I'm at work.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Try to get them on the cameras and see if
you can talk to them on my phone at work.
And I'm checking my cameras and I'm like, hey, guys,
like what happened? They said, Diah, we're scared.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
I said, okay, what happened?
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Looking at them through the camera, they have these faces
like they've just seen a ghost. I was like, okay,
calm down, tell me what is it.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (16:34):
One of my nephew says, okay. So we're sitting in
our room, we're watching TV, and all of a sudden,
the handle to the closet door starts to jiggle.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
I said really.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
They're like yeah, and then somebody knocks three times and
I was like, are you sure. Maybe you guys just
weren't hearing something from the TV or something since it
was leaned up closer to the closet door.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
And they're like, no, we know what we heard.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
They ran out of the room and stayed in the
living room for the rest of the time, and I
told them, okay, I said, you know what, go ahead
and put the camera that's on top of the refrigerator,
grab it or put it in the in yeall's room
and let me see if I capture anything.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
And they said okay. So they did.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Two hours pass by. I'm checking the cameras just to
make sure they're okay. I work about two minutes away,
so you know, if they needed me, I could be here,
so I checking on them and everything like that, I
get this motion detection in their bedroom. So they have
curtains that are like kind of a blackout kind of curtain,
(17:44):
so there really shouldn't be like coming in. There may
be like just like a little bit of light, but
it shouldn't be a lot. So I look at the
camera and it's catching motion. And I look back at
the pictures and I see where the cameras just moving
from one side of the room to the middle and
then to the other side. On the third picture, I
(18:09):
capture a figure. You see the face, you see the nose,
you see the eyes. It's like a maybe from like
the old time, a hat, an older hat. The face
looks a bit angry, looks like he's smiling in it.
(18:30):
So when I'm looking at this, I'm at work, and
I get chills. I didn't even know how to tell them.
I didn't even know how to tell anybody in the
house because we were already scared to know that something
was going on, but to actually see it in the picture,
it was mind blowing for me. I was speechless. I
didn't know what to say, I didn't know how.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
To see it.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Once I got home, I told my nephews and they
were like, what you saw what? And I'm like, yeah,
I saw it. I have one of my nephews here.
His name is Dude Avererson. We can say ydih for short.
So after all that happened here in Easton, we had
this hurricane Barrel.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
It was really bad.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
It was a whole city about three days without electricity.
My mother in law had already told me, you know what,
go and get some sage, Go and get some candles.
This is what I want you guys to do to
cleanse yourselves.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
And to clean the house. So I said, okay, So
I went to a Yerbria.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
I got some sage, and since we didn't have no power,
I was like, you know what, this is my opportunity.
Open up all the windows and let me start saging
the house. So I went ahead and I started saging.
I went room by room and when I entered their room,
the room that they're are now, since it was supposed
to be my husband's game room, it's a purple.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Color, so it's like a darkish color in there.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
So I'm in there and I'm in every corner, I'm praying,
and I'm clean cleansing, the house, asking for whatever is
in here to leave the house, get out of this house.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
As I go to.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
That same corner where that figure was captured, I'm in
that corner and I feel like, if somebody has their
nails just scratch the back of my leg. And I
turned to look down and there's nothing there. I was thinking,
(20:24):
maybe it's my cat. He came in here and he
wants to play. But as I turn around and I
look towards my leg, there's nothing there. I look up
at the doorway and my cat is sitting at the
doorway but looking in concentrating on something, and I'm.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Like, come here, come on, Cookie.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
His name is Cookie, So I'm like, come on, come in.
He doesn't want to come in, and I know they
usually say that animals see things that we don't see.
I'm trying to get him to come in while I'm
doing all that, and he looks at me, gets spooked
of something, and just leaves the girl wing and goes
to the living room.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
So I'm trying to hurry up.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
While I'm in there, I'm just take I just kind
of want to get out of this room.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
I don't want to be in this room. I even
go over the mirror.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
I sage the mirror everything, and that same night I
cleanse everybody. My mother law always tells me to get
a candle of the archangel Michael for my husband, and
she told me a specific one to get for my
nephew since he does have the blackness around him.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
So I said, okay.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
So that night we're there, everybody takes a shower getting
ready to go to bed.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
And remind you, we still don't have electricity.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
They're telling us it could probably be a week until
we get it, and we're ready on day two.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
So we're here in the kitchen.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
I start to cleanse everybody, and I start cleansing him
with the candle. And this candle is like a certain
candle that's like, uh, that's how they say, it's prepared
already now specifically for him. And as I'm doing that,
he starts to shake and I start to get chills
because I'm like, wait a minute, I've never done something
(22:06):
like this. I've never had somebody start shaking or anything.
So I was getting nervous, and he was praying. He
had his eyes closed and he's praying, and I see
he's starting to cry, and I tell him I'm like, mehn,
stop when you're leg I need you to stay still.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
He stays still for me.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
And he's, yeah, I can't, I can't. I have no
control of this. And he's starting to cry a little
bit more so I had already. I was figuring like, okay,
this is probably not him. Whatever it is it's attached
to him or whatever is around him is causing this.
I just get I get the egg and I start
cleansing him as well. With the egg, I have the
candle in my hand. I'm like, you know what, here,
(22:42):
now you do it. Because as I'm doing this, I'm
starting to forget the prayer.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Ba.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
I'm just like, this isn't normal.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
I'm just like, you know what, I'm going to do
this and I'm just gonna close my eyes and I'm going.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
To pray a little harder. So I started to do that.
I started to pray harder. I started to.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Let just really get into it and pray for him.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
And his leg stopped.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
They stopped shaking, and he's like, yeah, that I promise
you that wasn't me.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
That wasn't me. I'm scared.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
They usually say, don't turn out the candles, let them
turn off by themselves. They burned for about four days.
The night before that they was already gonna burn out.
I had taken a picture of them because I was
trying to show my mother in law, look, we turned
on ours after we turned on his, but they were
(23:38):
both burning at the same speed. And I took a
picture about it because like twelve o nine that day
at night, and then in the morning, I wake up
and I checked them.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
They're all they're done burning.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
But the candle that me and him both had rubbed
themselves with, which was one specifically for us that I
had gotten that one as well prepared, that one, was completely.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Black, pitch black.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I know that as when you have a candle like that,
it's because it's something bad.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
It's not good.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I'm freaking out because I'm like, wait a minute, but
just last night it was clear. There was no darkness,
there was no burning, there was very little, but it
was still lighting.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
So I didn't understand how.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
It got so black within I would say, what eight
hours of us being asleep. So I was really confused,
and I sent it to my mother and I and
I'm telling her like, hey, look at these pictures.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
I don't know what do you think.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
So. Once we got the electricity back on the next
day here, after the whole storm and everything like that,
the first thing I told my husband was, I don't
want this marror in the kids room anymore.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
You're gonna do with it, but you're gonna take it
out of this room. And he's no, I don't want to.
Maybe we could just cover it, and I said, no,
I don't want it in the house period. Something about
this mirror, this room. I just don't like if the
kids have already experienced something we've experienced, seeing shadows every
time you would walk into the rest from the bedroom
to the restroom. In my living room, I have one
(25:24):
of those sin those little Scinti warmers, and the Sinti
warmer gives a lot of light in the living room.
Once all the lights are off, you could see reflections
of certain things. But the one thing we would always
see in the living room was a dark figure of
a man sitting on the sofa, one of his legs
(25:48):
up on his like resting on his other leg in
the shape of an L. And it's like he had
a hat for me. That's the same figure that we
captured on those on the camera. After that, I was like, no,
we got to get this out of the house. I
don't want this here anymore like this. This has to go.
(26:09):
So he's like, okay, I'll go ahead and I'll take
it out of the house and we'll leave it alone.
I said, okay, fine, So he did. You took it
out of the bedroom. After that, things had seemed to
calm down. There wasn't as much of the fighting and
(26:29):
arguing as there was. It was more my nephew was
more of a kid, like how he should be a teenager.
He was more relaxed, more wanting to talk to us,
wanting to conversate, wanting to just be around more. And
I told my husband, I said, it had to have
been something with that mirror.
