It begins at her then-boyfriend’s childhood home, where she experiences two separate instances of being slapped on the head by an unseen force—while lying against a solid wall. Later, she learns of a man who died tragically nearby, deepening the mystery.
In 2019, during what was meant to be a relaxing river trip in Texas, she wakes in the middle of the night to a terrifying presence she believes was demonic—an encounter so disturbing she’s only spoken of it once since.
Finally, in 2022, while doing laundry in her garage just after her father moved out, she locks eyes with a full-bodied apparition watching her from behind a wall—solid, detailed, and unnervingly curious. These events, together with a sensitivity to energy and spirit, form a haunting timeline of unexplained phenomena doesn't look for, but endures with quiet strength and faith.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Ever since she was a young child, she knew that
there was something else out there, and her experiences once
she became an adult only seemed to confirm this. My
name is Edwin and here is Raquel. It's true scary story.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
One of my first memories that always stuck with me
because it's very different. I call it like an episode,
and this I'm only told to a few people in
my life because it sounds crazy. But I remember vividly
as if it was yesterday. I was about eight years old.

(00:46):
I was playing alone in my childhood backyard and I
was sitting on the concrete. It was a sunny day.
I was just alone. It was very quiet in that moment.
I was sitting with my legs crossed, and I remember
staring at my legs, specifically one leg by my knee.

(01:06):
I don't know why. I have no explanation as to
why I focused on that area, but I felt myself
pulling away from myself. It felt whatever makes me my
subconscious or whatever it was it makes me, was separating
from my body. I was now watching myself. I was

(01:30):
raised above myself, looking at myself in third Curson. So
it's odd, but I one thousand percent remember clearly my
voice in my head was saying, Wow, I can't believe
I'm back. I remember feeling that very shocked, very surprised

(01:53):
and happy. My voice in my head was saying, I
can't believe I'm back. Wow, this is me. I'm back.
And just like that, in that foot second, I came
back to joined with my body and I thought, wow,
that was weird. But I was eight and around that age,
and I didn't understand what had just happened. But I

(02:14):
also didn't tell anyone. It didn't scare me, it was
just odd. In middle school, maybe thirteen years old, I
was playing alone again. There's a park behind my childhood home,
and I was in the park playing alone, and I

(02:35):
sat down again. I remembered that moment and I thought,
I wonder if I can do it again. I sat
down the same way. Legs crossed and I stared at
one leg and I just focused and I was just quiet,
and without even knowing what I'm doing or how to
do it, I remember the polling feelings started again and
I was starting to separate. At this time, it scared me,

(02:57):
so I stopped and I looked up and I saw
my house and it went away and that was the
last time I ever tried to do it, and I
really don't have any interest in that. Again. I don't
know if that being able to do that as a
child kind of solidified having an extra sense about something.
I'm not sure. As I grew up, we had a

(03:20):
difficult time. My childhood home is very dark. It seemed
very heavy. I had a childhood of constant nightmares. I
had a reoccurring nightmare for many years. I used to
see a lot of dark shadows at night. The house
itself was always very dark. It was a small little
house built in nineteen forty. But it was later on

(03:42):
in life that real, specific, memorable things happened. I wanted
to preface this with that was just pretty much the
norm for my childhood. And I am a Christian. I
joined the Christian faith and gave my life to Jesus
Christ as an adult in my late thirties. And I

(04:03):
don't seek to learn more about these things. I don't
do anything involving the occult. I don't play any type
of games or conjuring tools. The first one was around
twenty fourteen. I had just met my then boyfriend who's

(04:25):
now my husband. We were visiting his childhood home. He
was living there and his home is about an hour
from my apartment. We planned to visit with his family
and then for me to stay the night for the
first time. This is my very first time visiting his home.
We went and we spent the day normal day with

(04:45):
his family, and at nighttime he had It was a
small bedroom I would say a ten by ten or
maybe a ten by twelve, and he had a twin
bed in it. Because I was spending the night, he
blew up a queen size air mattress and in such
a small room, it really did take up most of
the room. I lay down and he said, I'm going

(05:07):
to go to the bathroom and I'll be back. And
it was late in the evening, so this mattress was
pushed up against one wall, an exterior wall, and it
was just a plain wall. There was no window, so
I knew that. I was very aware that behind me
is just a wall. And I'm laying on my right
side waiting for him to come back, and I feel

(05:29):
a hit on my head light. It was obvious. I
knew right away. It was the very first time I
was hit by something that wasn't there it's the best
to explain what it feels like. It's like someone hitting
you on the head, but you don't have You can
hear the hit and you feel the sting, but you

(05:49):
don't feel the weight of a hand. It was just
on the top of my head. It reminded me of
a kid who was just annoying me and just tagger it.
It felt like to me. He came back into the
room and lay down, and I didn't mention it. I
wasn't terrified. I just thought it was really weird. I

(06:10):
forgot all about it. So some time goes by. We're
now in twenty fifteen and my lease was up and
we decided to move into his childhood home so that
we could save money for our own home. Moving day
went as normal as possible. We moved in. We just

(06:31):
had that one room, so most of my stuff went
into storage. We had painted the room my favorite color,
We had a large area rug, we had my bed,
and we basically moved in just the basics. So at
the end of the night, we were both getting ready
for bed, and here we are again. I completely forgot

(06:52):
about this the first time. So I lay down on
my same right side and he leaves to go take
a shower and then come back. I'm Alaine there again.
He's gone for about a minute, and again I feel
the same hit on the left top side of my head.
I can hear it and I feel the sting of it.

(07:15):
It wasn't as friendly as the first time, but it
didn't terrify me. But I was not going to not
tell him this time, so when he came back, I
definitely told him, Hey, I just got hit in the
head by someone who's not here. The headboard is up
against another wall that doesn't have a window, and there's
no one behind me. Nothing fell on me. These are
things I would of course be aware of or check for,

(07:37):
but completely unexplainable and very real. He just jokingly said, oh, yeah,
it's the man he used to live here. Apparently there
was a family friend that lived there with his family
for a while that had passed away. He was killed
in a pedestrian auto accident down the street a few
years prior, and he was just said, oh, yeah, it

(07:59):
must be him, and that was it and we just
went to sleep. I lived there for about seven months.
There was one night we were This house is set
in the country. It's in a suburb outside of Houston,
and the houses are very far apart. This one sits

(08:21):
on a couple of acres, so at night it's very
dark and lonely out there outside. It's a small little town.
It was late at night one night we were home
alone and we heard a knocking on the door. The
house is it's a really large house. Just to even
be able to hear knock someone knocking on the front door,
it's difficult. We heard a knocking, so he went to
go check and it was no one. It's very late

(08:42):
at night. He comes back to the room and says, oh,
there's no one out there, and then we hear the
knocking of the back door within seconds. It would take
a long time for one person to make their way
through the property. This time, we just kind of left
it and we did not go answer it. We just
left it. The closest bathroom to our bedroom was down

(09:07):
a long hall outside of our room, so my bedroom
was the first room when you're entering this hallway. Our
bedroom was the first room on the right, and the
bathroom was at the very end facing you. There was
another bedroom past our room, and it was always locked.

(09:28):
It was His family is mother's I believe sewing room.
I'd lived there for seven months and never saw the
door even open. The one time I was in, I
did see inside the room. I noticed that it was
They did use most of it for storage, so it
wasn't There wasn't a lot of walking space in the room.
It just had a little nook area where she could sew,

(09:48):
and that's pretty much it. The rest were boxes. One night,
I had to go to the bathroom. I hated to
have to go in the dark in the middle of
the night by myself to this bathroom, so I I
would always just put my head down and walk quickly.
I got up and quickly got to the bathroom, shut
the door locked. It was using the bathroom, and the

(10:12):
house is completely quiet. You can hear creaking of the house,
of course, but you can hear everything. They're hardwood, tile,
no carpet in this house. So I remember hearing a
can drop in the sewing storage room, just next to
the bathroom. It sounded like maybe a paint can. I

(10:33):
heard it drop hit the floor and start rolling, slowly rolling,
and I thought, oh gosh, I have to pass this
room getting back to my room. I was terrified in
that moment, but I did just leave the bathroom quickly
make my way to back to my room and go

(10:55):
back to bed. It was a Saturday morning and I
wasn't working that Saturday. My husband at the time was working,
so I was home alone with his mom. His mom
is in her eighties, so she just hangs out around
the house and she's in and out all day, just
walking around and different things here and there. So I

(11:17):
woke up on a Saturday morning, I went to the
bathroom and the bathroom had a kind of a knob.
It's an old house. The knob. To lock it, you
had to intentionally lock it. There was a way to
turn the knob and push it into the right to
intentionally lock it. If you didn't do it just right,

(11:38):
it would not lock. It was a really big bathroom.
So I went in and I carefully locked it, and
I went to use the bathroom, and I could hear
my mother in law's shoes, her little sandals, dragging on
the floor walking towards the bathroom, and I thought, my
first thought was, I hope I locked that door, because
she's going to walk in here. And so she started

(12:01):
rattling the knob and she spoke out, is anyone are
you here? Are you in here? And I said I'm
in here, and she said, okay, never mind. I heard
her little shoes walk off. I heard her shoes dragging
and her steps walking away back down that hall. So
not maybe five seconds, the doorknob starts to aggressively shake

(12:23):
now like she's aggressively trying to get in the bathroom
with me. And I remember thinking like, oh my gosh,
it's been five seconds. Does she not know when I'm
still in here? And so she's rattling this doorknob, and
I remember that moment thinking I never heard her shoes
come back. She didn't respond. I said I'm here, I'm

(12:47):
in here, she didn't. No one responded, and I never
heard her shoes coming back. I again was scared and
quickly got out of there and went back to my
room and just waited for my husband. So these are
a few things that happen in just seven months in
this house. I have not been back to the house.

(13:08):
My husband goes every weekend to visit his mom, and
his mom comes to our house, so I see her
and family at other locations, but I just don't have
I'm not terrified where I won't ever go back to
that house. I just try and make a little effort
to avoid it if I have to. Every August for

(13:37):
about five years in a row, we have our really
close friends of ours we love to travel with, and
every summer, every August, they would rent a river house.
This is about an hour and a half west of
San Antonio. Every August she would rent this house, this
big giant house. It's lept about twenty eight to thirty people.

(14:01):
She and her husband would invite tons of friends and
family to come stay and we would all have a blast.
Each house had its private pool, private hot tub, It
had an outdoor kitchen. You get your private volleyball court.
All of the houses in the subdivision were close enough
where you could see the next house, but they weren't
on top of each other, so you could party at
night and have your musical out. And we would party

(14:23):
till three or four in the morning and then spend
all day on the river. And so we did this.
I went five times. I believe we would leave. We'd
go from Thursday to Monday. So it was common to
everyone to show up on Thursdays and then start heading
home either late Sunday or early Monday. This is August

(14:46):
of twenty and eighteen. This is my fourth time going.
This house was a little bit bigger than usual. There
were probably thirty thirty two of us. It was a
great place for her family and they would bring their
entire families, So mom, dad, and all the kids would
come and me and my husband would go and we

(15:06):
would all buddy up and share rooms. So we had
our favorite buddies to share rooms with and our favorite couple.
My husband and I shared her always shared a room
with They were an older couple, and I liked sharing
a room with them because they always brought a loud fan.
The wife always wanted to have. She's always very hot natured,
and she wanted her room to be very cold, which

(15:29):
worked great with me. I preferred cold also. We got
to the house on Thursday and we partnered up with them.
We settled in our rooms and in our specific room.
It was on like one wing of this house. Saturday night,
my husband and I planned to drive home Sunday afternoon.
We were all in the pool and in the hot tub.

(15:51):
At this point it's late, it's probably around midnight. All
of the kids are in bed and so all the
adults are just outside having a great time, chatting and
laughing and dreams and partying. I noticed that the hosts,
our close friends are not there, and I thought, I
haven't seen them in a while. It's been a few hours.
Where are they. I wonder where they're at. Some of
us started questioning, like, have you seen them? Where are they?

(16:12):
So many work secluded, there's only so many places, and
at night, you're not going to be on the river.
The wife, she had a nephew that had joined us
on this trip. He was probably early twenties or late teens,
and he asked, us, Hey, their doors locked. You mind
if I sleep in your room? Do you have any
empty beds in there? And I said, yeah, we have
an empty bed in the middle last room down the hall,

(16:34):
middle bed. I'll leave you a blanket and he's like,
oh great, perfect. So we go to bed. The other
couple is already asleep and we turn on the fan.
I remember being very hot and I was just uncomfortable.
It was probably in between three and four am. I

(16:57):
was asleep facing towards the wall with my back to
the room. I'm laying on my left side facing the
wall and on my right ear I feel a few
strokes in my ear canal, felt like a long nail
tickling my scratching my ear canal. That wasn't painful, but
it was enough to wake me up where I thought,

(17:17):
what is that? What is in my ear? So I
turned around. I turned over and turned around, and my
husband's lying next to me, and there's a little girl,
a teenage girl, standing over our bed, staring at me,
dead in the eyes, not blinking direct eye contact. She

(17:39):
looked exactly like the daughter of one of the couples
that were also with us on this trip. My first
reaction was, why is she standing here? Her parents are
across the house. Why what is she doing staring down
at us. I want to mention that at this time,
it was starting to thunderstore was starting, so there was

(18:01):
a lot of lightning. So every few seconds there would
be a flash of lightning which would light up. Because
I had two windows so close to me, it would
light up the room. I could clearly see this little girl,
this teenager. I remember thinking, what is she doing here?
So I started to focus in on her. I remember
I was sweating, I was blinking and trying to focus

(18:23):
in on her, and she's staring me dead in the eyes,
and she starts to shift her look the movement of
I don't even want to say she anymore, because it
wasn't a little girl. This thing started with a snakelike
type of movement, started to shift and change form right

(18:43):
in front of my eyes, and I was so terrified.
I started shaking my husband to wake up. So he's
a light sleeper, and he started the still groggyes the
mile night. So he started to wake up, and I
was just calling his name and telling him, look next
to you. Do you see that? Do you see that?

(19:05):
And he's just like confused, and so he looks over
and there's enough lightning every few seconds that he can
see a clear shot of the room. And he saw
said I don't see anything. And I closed my eyes,
thinking if I blink long enough, it'll go away. And
I opened them and it's still there, staring at me.
And at this point it's still moving in a slow

(19:27):
snakelike manner. I hate to really let my brain go
there to really try to recall exactly what it looked like,
but I just I can't forget the movements. I look
down at his back and I was like, seriously, you
don't see that. And I kept blinking and looking again,
and it's still there, and he just he didn't see anything.

(19:47):
He couldn't see it. He's just I don't see anything.
He don't know what you're doing. I know what you're
talking about. In his half sleep, he said, I have
to go to the bathroom. He just started to get
up and to walk away to go to the bathroom.
The bathroom was about ten steps in front of us,
so I thought, oh my gosh, I have to get
up too and walk where this thing is standing. So
I just looked away to my left, avoiding my right,

(20:12):
and I jumped off the bed and ran into the
bathroom with him. I was in there pacing while he's
used in the bathroom. I'm pacing and I'm freaking out,
and I'm telling him, oh my gosh, I don't know
what to do, like I was terrified, And in that moment,
I had been I'd become a Christian maybe a year before,
two years before. I'd gotten really close with our pastor.

(20:35):
He's one of our best friends, and he'd taught me
how to pray and what I should do when I'm scared,
and in that moment, thank God, his voice came into
my head, and he said, you know what to do.
And he had taught us in church, in Christian Church,
the annoyed oil you pray when you pray over a house,
you usually pray over all the doorways and windows. To

(20:58):
pray over a house, you pray over your oil. I
didn't have anointing oil. I didn't have my pastor. I'm
a baby Christian. I'm terrified. So I told my husband,
we have oil. I saw it in cooking earlier, with
olive oil. We have to go get some and anointed,
prey over it, anointed, and just do our best. I
don't know what to do. I was panicked. I was
in full planic mode. So still there's still lightning everywhere.

(21:22):
So he and I quietly tiptoe out of the room.
I never looked back at our bed. I couldn't, and
so we went down the long hallway back to the
great room where you can see the kitchen. I looked
throughout the kitchen and I'm using basically the light of
the lightning. The great room won the back wall facing
the pool, and the backyard is all glass, so I

(21:43):
had tons of light from the lightning, but I didn't
see the oil in the kitchen. So I looked up
at the outdoor kitchen and I saw it on the
island outside, and I thought, oh, I have to go outside.
And so I opened the back door and creeped outside
with him, and I found the bottle of oil and
poured a little bit into the pond in my hand
and shared some with him, and we prayed over it.

(22:05):
This is all we could do. We knew nothing else
to do. We didn't even know if it would work.
This is all we knew how to do. Makes me
emotional just thinking about it, because it was the most
terrifying moment of my life. We prayed over the oil.
We go back inside and we prayed over every doorway
and window, making crosses over each and just praying the

(22:27):
way Mike cast taught me how we saved our room
for the last. So we get to our room and
I thought, oh my gosh, here we go. I noticed
going back and forth and walking out and coming back
into our little hallway, the thermostat is there, and I
noticed that the air the ac was set on about
sixty eight and it was cold. We had two fans

(22:48):
in our room, and I thought, looking back, now, I'm
like oh, it was hot. I don't know if that's
I've heard the presence of ghosts meant cold, but the
presence of evil brought heat. I'm not sure if that
is a thing, but I just remember being sweating. We
start back in this room. I go the couple that
you first bed. You walk into the older couple. They're

(23:09):
still sleeping, they have no idea what's going on, And quietly,
without waking them up, I'm praying over them and over
their headboard, their window, next to their bed, over the
young boy that was sleeping now in the middle on
the he sleeped on the empty bed that's now in
the middle of us. Same thing, over his headboard, over him,
and it was like, okay, Raquel, it's time to get

(23:31):
to that last to our bed. I didn't look up,
and I walked right where it stood, and I prayed
over our bed and our windows, our doorway in the bathroom,
closet doorway, closet, bathroom window, everything as best as we could,
and I remember the house felt lighter. I was able

(23:53):
to lay back down. I could not just fall asleep,
so my husband had no problem just going right back
to bed. So I didn't cry in a moment, I
just was so focused. At that point, I laid back
in bed, I covered my whole self up, and I
remember just praying myself to sleep. We woke up. It
was about seven am. The house had light in it,

(24:15):
and it felt so much lighter. We looked at each
other and we were like, we're out of here. We
were packed and gone on the road without saying goodbye
to anyone. They were all still sleeping within about thirty minutes.
It was about an hour on the other side of
San Antonio driving home that I just in that point

(24:39):
it was like, Okay, I feel this time. Now I
can just cry. When I came home on our first
night back, we went straight to our pastor's house and
told him what happened, and we met up with the hosts,
our friends later on that week. Once they came home
and told them what happened, and they actually had their
own experience pet night. Reason why they were locked in

(25:02):
the room is they were having an episode or experience
of their own. I don't feel it's my story to tell,
but it was something very dark and they had issues
and it was not going well for them, so they
felt it was best to just stay with themselves with
the door shut and locked for the rest of the night.
So I don't know if whatever was happening to them

(25:24):
then came to me. I don't know. You never know
when with a rental house what people practice in them
or I don't know. I have no no explanation for that.
It was very real. It was very scary. My husband
at that point, when he saw me break down on
the road home, he said, now I know it was real.
I believe you because you were You didn't cry, you

(25:47):
were so terrified and then so focused. And we did
go the next year back to that river trip, but
it was not the same house. It was a completely
different subdivision. It was nowhere near I don't think I
could ever go back to that subdivision. This house was
located completely separate, away with a different part of the river,
and everything was fine. We moved into our home, my

(26:13):
husband and I alone, just us two, in April of
two thousand and eighteen, and all we know is we
purchased the home from an older woman, single. That's all
we know about her. We've had some We had a
pool party once here and one of the kids that
came had been to our house prior to us owning it,

(26:35):
so she remembers the family. She was friends with the
family before us, and so she was able to tell
us who lived here, and she never mentioned a husband.
I think she may have passed away. I think. So
we move in and first thing was we like having cameras,
an alarm system of course installed, and we to find
a yard guy. And so my husband said, today, there's

(26:57):
going to be a couple of yard men coming. You
have to enter the door. They're going to call me
and I'll they give me a price over the phone,
and I'm like, okay, great. So he goes to work
and handles that. So I'm expecting there to be someone
on our property. I woke up early. It was quiet
in my house that had not turned on the TV.
I came and sat alone in the living room with
my dog, and I heard Crystal Clearest Day right behind me,

(27:20):
which the front door is behind me about twenty feet
fifteen feet. I heard someone clearing the throat and I thought, oh,
the yark guy must be here, and so I grabbed
my cell phone which is next to me, and I
looked on the cameras and no one was at my house.
Front back, empty driveway, no one. I thought, Oh, that's weird.
So when my husband got home that day, I said, hey,

(27:42):
I heard somebody weird in the house. And he said
what and I said, I heard someone clearing their throat
smiled and he said, I didn't want to tell you,
but I heard the same thing. And I said male
or female and he said male, and I said young
or old and he goes old. I would say old
and I said why and he goes scratchy and I'm like, yeah,
like a smoker, like a longtime smoker, and he goes yes,

(28:03):
And I said, that's what I heard. And so he
had heard it in our back room, the room that
I'm currently sitting in, and he heard it in this
room and he goes, it made me feel like someone
wanted me to get out of the way, And I said,
it just made me feel like someone was announcing their
presence behind me. So we just we love our home.
We just we had it blessed and we moved in
and we just ignored it. We thought, oh, okay, nobid deal.

(28:25):
And shortly after we would there were a few times
that we'd get home and we'd been gone for the
whole day and we'd walk in together and in our
entry way, we would stop and look at each other
because it smelt like someone smoked a fresh cigarette in
our house. And this house has an alarm and five cameras,
there's no way, and a dog. There's no way anyone

(28:46):
could be inside our house smoking a cigarette, and we
don't smoke, so we would just look at each other
and smile and ooh, that was weird, and thought okay,
But I never saw anything up until more recent I
saw my first full solid apparition in my garage. My

(29:10):
dad moved in with us in late twenty nineteen. He
was ill and needed advanced medical treatment, so he moved in.
By October of twenty twenty one, he had fully recovered
and was in remission and was moving out into his
own apartment to go back to independent living. And that weekend,

(29:35):
my beloved grandfather of ninety two years passed away. He's
moving weekend, so my father went ahead and went home
to a small town, and my husband and I moved
him and into his apartment, and by Sunday afternoon we
were done. So I came home, I cleaned up his

(29:56):
old room and the one I'm currently in right now,
and I was doing laundry and just resetting. And so
I remember being in the garage. I was pulling clothes
from the washer, which is like the top loader, and

(30:16):
I have the dryer door open, so you're standing, you
pull clothes out, you turn and lean down to put
clothing into the dryer. And something told me to look up,
and I did and I saw solid a man watching me.
I saw him peeking. He looked like he was peeking

(30:39):
around the corner. My first impression was that he was
just curiously watching me. He didn't look scary. He looked
I remember him vividly. He was tanned, dark complexed. He
had a very strong jaw. He seemed older. He had
black hair, very strong facial feature, strong nose, strong draw,

(31:00):
strong chin, and he was wearing a black All I
could see was maybe half fist chest because he was
peeking around the corner, but watching me curiously intently. His
face was very serious, and I in fear. She screamed
and blinked and he was gone, and I yelled for

(31:21):
my husband, and my husband came out and he was
just like, what, like there was someone here watching me.
I just saw him watching me, And she didn't like
kiebout okay, so I couldn't. I was terrified. I couldn't
describe like to him exactly how it felt. So I
just grabbed his hand and I put it on my
chest or my heart was pounding that I think that's
when he understood, Okay, she's really terrified. This is real.

(31:45):
I never I was happy that it happened in my
garage and not in my home, but I had never
That was my very first time seen a really solid
I don't remember being able to see past him. There
was a light over me in this whole air, so
it's very illuminated. I don't know who it was thought.
I've had thoughts where maybe it's her husband and this

(32:06):
is his house, or I don't know. That's happened back
in October of twenty twenty one, and even now when
I drive in, I'm parking on that right side, which
is close to where he was peeking around the corner.
I still don't look up.
