A listener shares her terrifying experience inside her family’s duplex — a home once owned by her husband’s late grandmother. What begins as a normal evening quickly turns strange when she hears her son’s voice inside the house… even though both of her children were playing outside. The story deepens with connections to other paranormal activity caught on video — including an orb that seems to interact with her in real time.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
He went pale, his eyes got huge, and we.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Just look at each other. There's nobody in the back rooms.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
We are about to hear experiences from Ashley and Tiffany,
sisters who are interested in the paranormal and have done
their own investigations. You might notice slightly off audio quality throughout,
but that gets better the deeper we get into the episode.
But at one specific moment, we captured a strange anomaly
that sounds eerily like an intelligent response. My name is Edwin,

(00:42):
and here is Ashley and Tiffany's true scary story.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
My name is Ashley.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I live in Nashville, Tennessee, in a small in the
suburb area in south of Nashville.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Not much happens here.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Usually these homes are all ranch styles and they're either
a duplex or just a single family home. Mine is
a duplex and actually used to be owned by my
husband's late grandmother. I live on one side of it
and the other side my sister lives. So one day

(01:37):
I was sitting in my living room working and my
husband was in the kitchen. Whenever you're looking at the
house and the duplex, the inside part of the house
is where the bedrooms are and the outside part of
the houses.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
On the outboard.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Sides are the living room and the kitchen areas. My
kids had been playing pretty much all evening together, so
I decided to get a little bit more work done
before it was close to bedtime. So I hear my

(02:15):
oldest for what I think is my oldest talking. I
can't really understand what he's saying, but it is a
good couple sentences, and I automatically assume that he is
with my youngest and there in one of the back
bedrooms watching videos on his tablet, and my oldest is
explaining the video to my youngest.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
I don't really think anything of it. Keep working.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
This happens for about five minutes at least.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Off and on.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
So I finally, after hearing a last little mumble, I
looked down on my phone and I noticed that it
is about thirty minutes until it's time to.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Get ready for bed.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I go walk through the kitchen, turn right down to
the hallway where the two bedrooms are. I look into
their bedroom and there's nobody in there. The tablet's on
the bed, it's turned off, there's nothing playing. So I

(03:23):
turn and I look into my bedroom. Because they sometimes
like to go in there again. Lights are turned off,
there's nobody there. I get full body chills. I'm one
who has experienced a paranormal multiple times, but I've never

(03:47):
felt this sort of chill down to like my bones.
So I go and I'm walking back into the kitchen
area and I asked my husband and did you just
hear Oliver in the back room having a conversation And

(04:07):
he just is like, yeah, why, And I look at
him and I see from the side of my eye
both of the boys outside in the backyard through the
side window, playing far off by the garden, well.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Out of audible range.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
And I look at my husband and I say, there's
nobody else.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
In the house besides us too.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
There's nobody in the back rooms. He went pale, his
eyes got huge, and.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
We just look at each other.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I look back outside. They're starting to run towards the house,
and my husband says, maybe we can just hear the
boys outside playing. And at that point, they're starting to
run towards the house and I can't actually hear their
voice as they're running up until they get pretty close

(05:10):
to the house. And I tell that to my husband
and I say, no, his voice was coming directly from
the next room, but I couldn't understand anything that he
was saying. Was just mumbles, like words that were blended
into other words, and neither of us could decipher what

(05:32):
was said because obviously it wasn't my real child's voice.
So then I decided to call my sister. She then
reminds me of earlier in the year when she was
in bed and heard my voice call out to her.

(05:56):
My story happened a few months before. Where she has
her computer station in the basement is directly below my bedroom.
I'm not much of a morning person, so I had
slept in. It was a Saturday.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
She was actually headed to Chicago for a show that day.
I'm in bed, it's already lied out. I have no
idea what time it is, but I hear my name being.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Called through.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
The basement right below me. I'm still in my sleep,
face starting to come out of it and waking up
because my name is being called. This voice is calling
my name and it sounds like my sister. Before I
even open my eyes, I fully wake up, but because

(06:55):
I don't like mornings, I still have my eyes closed.
And I heard it again, and I was like, wait
a minute. Okay, so I was not dreaming that. And
then I opened my eyes and I kind of sat
up a little about five seconds ago, but I didn't
hear anything, and I was like, okay, yeah, that was
definitely all in my head.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
No, it happened again, Tiff, tiffy tiff.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
And it sounded like Ashley was struggling downstairs right below,
like something had fallen over. She was like, get down here, now, help,
I need your help. But it was just her saying
my name. So I set up and I go me.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
And I started chuggling because I'm like, who am I
actually talking to?

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Because I don't hear it anymore after that, So then
I'm like, wait, I heard my name.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
I get up. I go down the hallway. Did they
get you?

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Where the door is that leads to the basement, and
I yelled her name. I'm like, Ashley, actually.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Nothing.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
I look out front, I look out back, I get
my phone.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
I call her. She answers. I'm like, Ashley, where are you?

Speaker 4 (08:12):
It's like I'm on the inner stake on way did Chicago,
And I was like, are you serious? Because I just
heard your voice calling my name from downstairs. It woke
me up and so we were both just kind of like, wait, what,
But then we just kind of brushed it off because
I was like, well, the boys their bedroom is the

(08:33):
same wall as my bedroom, and so I thought, well,
maybe the youngest is over there, and he realizes, oh,
Tiffy's on the other side of this wall.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I'm gonna wake her up. I'm going to call her name.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
That made me feel better, just thinking, Okay, well, I
just assumed it was coming from the downstairs. Maybe it
was just Luca playing around, but they were in the
TV room playing And when we're on the far end
of my house and she's in her bedroom, she can't
hear anything on the other side because there's a.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Big concrete wall that separates the duplex in the house.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
And then when it happens to Ashley with her oldest voice,
we were like, Okay, that's the problem.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
This is something. But at the same time, we're not scared.
We're just a little bit more curious.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
To have my experience on top of her experience just
kind of solidifies the fact that it wasn't some random
one off. When you hear a voice in your house
and you know that person isn't around, you kind of
just try to reason any other thing that it could

(09:53):
possibly be but a ghost. So having to experience is
in one house of a disembodied voice that isn't just disembodied,
it is sounding exactly like my family members.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
This was a full on conversation.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
This was a good solid five minutes of talking randomly.
So the mimic in the paranormal sense is an entity
of sorts who is pretty much mimicking the voice of
somebody you know or yourself. It could come either a

(10:40):
voice form, or it could actually come in like a
dopplginger form where you can see it looks like somebody
that you know, but in fact it is not. In
the mimic would be the audible version of that, where
you think you're hearing somebody that you know talking but
in fact it's not. Then some people might say that

(11:01):
a mimic is a very bad omen or bad sort
of the entity or energy. Thankfully, I didn't have any
like really negative feelings around it. I didn't feel scared
or like I was being watched or anything more of

(11:22):
like a playful tide and seek.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Sort of a way. I'm okay with it, just leaving
it at a voice.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
If I start seeing something that looks like my son
when he's not in my house, that's when I'm really
gonna get worried. The house hasn't had anybody like dye
in it or anything. We haven't had any crazy things
happened around. We do live in the area where the
Battle of Nashville took place, where there was a lot

(11:54):
of Union and Confederate casualties. And I'm less than a
mile from the Traveler's Rest where all of them like
took shelter, and by one of the areas where it
was like over two thousand soldiers died, and there's this
hill called like over ten Rows Hill, and that was
where one of the big battles was fought.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
I live in an area where there could be some.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Civil war spirits throwing around, but like, the only thing
that's ever happened to me here in this house is
the mimic. And then when I caught the orbs on
this side of the house where my sister lives.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
The orbs happened a year ago. Was it last year? Yeah? Yeah,
the orb was last year.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
So before my sister moved in, I had my studio
up here on the upstairs part of the side of
the duplex, and since she has moved in, I've moved
it downstairs in the basement. But when it was up here,
I had ring cameras out.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
The reason why we even had the ring camera when
the business side was up here in my place is
because we're sisters.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
We laugh a lot. We make each other laugh.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
We do the funniest ridiculous things all the time, and
we always joke around about well, today was a great episode,
like we only had.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Us on recording.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
So that's why we initially got the ring is to
record as being silly and laughing and.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
All of a sudden it picks up ghosts and said, Yes,
I was out of town at some show once and
I got a notification that there was something like the camera.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
And it just looked like something was just floating.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
It's just a random orb, and I mean it just
kept dancing and dancing for a very long time. And
I called my husband and I said, Hey, there's something
floating around or I don't know, there's an orb or
something in my studio and I can see it on
the camera. Can you go over there and check it out?
And he was like, huh no, So I just recorded

(13:53):
it flashed forward to three months later and the back room.
I get another notification that there is something in my
studio and I open up the video and I see
this orb like thing just floating around. And luckily I'm

(14:18):
at my house, so I'm on the other side of
the two plates, and I come and walk over here.
I still have my ring camera app open on my phone,
so I'm watching the video and I'm watching this orb
dance around, changing shape, changing transparencies.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
You can see through it. At times it's super.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Solid, at others it's like a straight line, and other
time and it has this like orb about it that's
like floating around it. It's not a bug at all,
because I go into that back room and I see nothing.
I'm looking at the screen still and I'm trying to
touch and to feel like where this thing is and

(14:58):
look and see if I can see it with my
naked eye, and nothing, absolutely nothing is there.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
I can still see.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
It though on my ring Camera app on my phone
live video as I'm trying to catch it. It's just
dancing around my hands and would not let me touch
it whatsoever, which was very strange. You cannot convince me
that it's a dust or a bug.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Or a spider. No, I was there.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
There were no bugs, no spiders, no dust, nothing, absolutely
nothing that goes on for at least a good ten
minutes or so, And me, being the parent ole invespator
that I am, I decide to grab my dowsing rods.

(15:49):
Dowsing rods, if you don't know, are these two metal
things that are.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Shaped kind of like an L and then you hold
on to them.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
And the energy move the rods either inside as an
X for yes or outwards and open for no. So
I used them to ask some questions. From just asking
a few questions, the orb or whatever sphered entity that

(16:19):
was there told me that it was just passing through
and it really liked the area and just wanted to
hang out and rest for a little bit, which leads
me to believe that it might have been a soldier
from the Civil War. Thousands of soldiers died right down

(16:41):
the street, not even a mile from the traveler's rest,
where said soldiers would go there either hurt, tired, or
hungry and would seek refuge. I've talked to people that
have lived kind of around the area, and they have
experienced orbs and all sorts of paranormal things.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
So having that sort of.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Orb that I could see on my phone but not
in my naked eye, and asking questions and getting some
answers that it's just a wayward spirit walking through, you know.
Felt very comfortable with it and happily welcome any other orbs.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
To hang out around the here. Just don't call my name.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
We'll the voice of any of my family members because
it will scare me.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Ashley and Tiffany share a few clips of a video
where a doorbell camera captures a strange light that is
moving in weird patterns. As we're talking about the clips,
we capture a strange interference during our recording. We started
hearing in audio anomaly. What you're about to hear is
us we acting in real time to what is happening.

(18:02):
The sound appears to be interacting with what Ashley and
Tiffany are sharing, and it was all caught on our
audio recording.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
I'm looking at the video right now. I just pulled
it up. This is it's moving not just from side to.

Speaker 6 (18:18):
Side like you know when you have a spider work,
but like it's literally zooming, like goes back and like
it plays around.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
With like where you are.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
Yeah, okay, so you're holding a phone right with the
phone light or whatever you're looking at it. If this
were like some light effect, as you move the light,
it would also move with you, or like it would
move as a reflection of your light somehow.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
But it doesn't, like it doesn't even plus.

Speaker 6 (18:42):
Like you being there and swinging your hands around, like
if it were something there.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Like it would follow that motion. Yeah, you would hit
it basically.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, but you can tell it's trying to like dodge
my hand as I'm trying to like feel for it.

Speaker 6 (18:55):
It's kind of like playing around, like it goes away
and comes back. It's I've never seen anything like it,
like ever, And geez okay, have you shown people that
maybe they have an explanation for it or like some
type of trying to deep bunketers or something like that.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
I posted it on socials and everyone was like, I mean,
I would say it was.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
A bug, but it actually doesn't look like a bug.
So I have no idea, you.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Know, but it would be great to like send it
to like fairly professional see like what their thoughts on
it is.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Last year, we ran into another traveling spirit on my
birthday at my mother's house, like a mile down the road.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
I just heard like the weird interference that we actually
kept hearing when we were at my mom's house. But
I'm telling you right now, Okay, sorry, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
I feel like we just we encounter like playful energy.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
Okay, hold on, I hear it now. I hear it now?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Is it me?

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Like? I just hold on? Getting chills on my o?
Did you did you hear that? Did you hear like
a when I mentioned it? Or do you hear it before?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I heard it before and then I heard when you
mentioned it too when I said, did you guys hear that?

Speaker 5 (20:10):
Yeah, I don't think we heard it at the same time.
I'm getting chills right now. Okay, this is bizarre.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
It shouldn't that happen at all.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
Did you did you like, I don't know, blow on
the mic? Did you like?

Speaker 6 (20:22):
No?

Speaker 1 (20:23):
I have a Taso ear pods and she has the
right one in her ear and I have a left
one in my ear, and we're just sitting here still
on the couch next to each other.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
It's weird because these are brand new ear.

Speaker 6 (20:33):
Headphones too, you see, because what you just said, you said,
I just gotta wait.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
Interference. I don't know if you heard it and then
I'm like, no, that's weird. I'm going to go through
the record.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
And then I heard it right when you started. But
it wasn't anything that I've ever heard during a call.
It doesn't make I mean, I know what interference sounds
like when you're recording with audio.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
This wasn't interference. This was like a oh man, I'm
getting extra like.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Someone was like exhausperating, like exascerate, going like talking about
us again.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Yeah, it was like.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
That. It was.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
And when we do our like paranormal investigating, I mean
like we've gone to the old Dale and Saint Augustine
like house in Augustine.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Oh there it goes again.

Speaker 5 (21:15):
Did you hear it a little bit?

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (21:17):
Yeah, Jeff okay, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
Literally about to tell you every time that we use
the EVP, we get interference.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Just like that.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
That just happened as I was explaining to you that
we get interference, Like what the heck? I never get
a voice, I only get an interference. You've never heard
voices on a recording. It's always an interference in the
electrical or something.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
We're like onto something here like this is uh, this
is the first time this I mean, we were talking
about the voices and I said, this is really odd
because it goes really low. When in the beginning of
the call, I was like, it was really low and
we're talking about voices.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
And right now when you said, and you know, it's
weird because I hear you know it's interference. I just
heard it, so.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
It's and then you heard the appearence as soon and.

Speaker 6 (22:01):
It's recorded, I'm sure, like I hope at least that
it is actually in the recording because it's it's I mean, I'm.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Going to hear it.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
We go through it extensively, like we like freely break
it down in them, so.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
If it helps.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
I've got my hair pulled up, so it can't be
something that like my hair is running against the mic.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Same with me. It's the mics part I'm watching hers.
It's a completely degree of anything again too.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
So I heard did you did you? Did you just
hear something?

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Now?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
No, but I did just open up pent top. So
I'm gonna talk that so I don't accidentally make a noise.

Speaker 6 (22:35):
Do that again, just do it just to see if
that maybe that's what's making this sound.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Okay, here I go. Did you hear that did you
hear it?

Speaker 6 (22:44):
No, by the way, you right now, I think it
was Tiffany that you were talking about a story that
you get to finish that before we got interrupted by
the sounds.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
It was my birthday and we had a ridgely gone
and tried to do a Wuiji board in the house
and it was silent, crickets.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Nothing, clearly, no one's here. They don't want to talk
to us. Mind you.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
I would never use the Ouigi board in my own house,
but my mother's.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, that's fine. Well because she's also convinced that she's got.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
A spirit there, but I've debunked everything that she has
said is what makes her think there is.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
But then we were like, well, Peter, there is something
to it.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
So that's why we at my mom and she's like,
try to figure out what it is. You know, I
don't care do all the sessions you want at my house.
We tried the ouiji, nothing came of it, so we
were like, well, let's just do our normal flashlights because
we get so much response when we do the flashlights.
We went into the dining room, we got so much response.

(23:54):
The flashlights were yes, no, okay, thank you, coming off,
they put off. They would tap on the artwork that
was right behind us, and it was in line to
a question. Basically, what we gathered from that evening was
that it was the passing by spirit.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
It really liked the area. She lives on top of
a hill.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
Her house has got a lot of natural light and windows,
and it thought that the neighbor, like all the people
that lived on the street, were really nice. They thought
that the just the scenery was nice. They were just
passing through. They didn't really want to talk much about anything,
but they were enjoying themselves, and so we were like, okay, cool, well, welcome,
half fun, thanks for talking to us.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
I feel like whenever we do communicate, just like randomly
with things, it is just like a passer buyer sort
of spirit, or.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Like I'm just scared hang around.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
When I was in the old jail, I never felt
any sort of like evil spirits, and thankfully neither in
my mom's house or our house here either. You know,
the old jail in August Panel's like the oldest jail
in America. I decided to go on to where the

(25:10):
maximum security area was, and everybody else, including my sister,
was on the other side of the jail. So I
was just like, I'm gonna go off by myself for
like a second. And so I went off by myself
in the jail cell area, and I said, if there's
any spirits around here, the only communicate, can you knock

(25:30):
for me three times? And so I knocked on the
concrete wall. And you know, if you knock on concrete,
you can barely hear it. As soon as I finished
my bang bang bang, I hear from inside of the
maximum security jail cell on the far end of the

(25:51):
jail where absolutely nobody was.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Everybody was on the other side.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
And then as we were walking out, I have the
ovulus on my phone that brings up words, and then
I had my flashlight out. So we went to where
the gallows were as the original gallows, and I walked
underneath the gallows and looked up and I set my
flashlight down and I said, if there's any spirits here,

(26:18):
can you turn the flashlight on? Boom, flashlight turned on,
and the word judgment came up on my ovulus. That
was the first time I actually really got freaked out.
After years and years of paranormal investigating, we've had.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
Just like little micro experiences with the other side and
the curiosity about it too. We were raised in religion,
but we are not religious now.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Very much in the spiritual.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
We're very much more into like getting down to the
like like the humanity behind ghosts or spirits and not
like the perceived notion it's a demon. Yeah, so instead
of getting frightened by these things, I mean, yeah, it's
a little frightening, but at the same time, like we

(27:09):
have more of a curiosity towards it.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
And so lends itself be more positive in nature.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
You know, maybe our curiosity about it is what's lending
all these spirits to come through and they know they're
saved with us.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Who knows. With my mimic situation, I can.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Only assume that it is a spirit that just wants
to be playful, especially because they were using my son's voice,
who is a happy, go lucky, playful kid. There wasn't
any sort of like negativity towards I didn't feel any
sort of negativity. I mean, yeah, it creeped me out,
of course. Thankfully, I'm feeling like it's not coming from

(27:48):
anything negative. But again, as time will tell, I might
I might not have another experience. But if I do
I hope this is as benign as that, but if not,
then maybe I was wrong and there is something a
little bit more levelent in my house.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
I do see things out of the core of my eye,
and that's how both of us. But it's actually a
lot lately.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
I just attribute it to it being the floaters of
my yeah, or me seeing like a reflection on my glasses.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Yeah, yeah, No, I'm just like it was.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
It was just it was just my eyeballs, and then
when the mimic thing happens, we're like, Okay, are those
floaters or what is this?

Speaker 3 (28:40):
