Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's in the news today, but it was actually on
TV Reload the podcast Can't Leave the Light. Hey guys,
welcome back to TV Reload. I want to thank you
for clicking on today's special episode. With one of my besties,
Alana McLean, a former co host of mine and I'm
going to say, a actual queen of Western Australia, we
have decided to unpack weekly episodes of the Real Housewives
of Beverly Hills this season. Plus when I do catch up,
(00:22):
we're going to do some double duty and talk about
Salt Lake City as well. We will unpack the cast
and who we think has nailed the brief while someone
else has kind of fallen a bit short. We will
discuss the takedown of Kyle this season, which has been
heavily promoted and seems to have sudden and to read
putting a giant target on her head. I will get
to hear about Alana's thoughts on Kyle's sexuality and her
(00:45):
edging towards maybe coming out as a lesbian. You are
going to get to hear a lot about Derek Kemsley.
What'll flip the switch? If going after Erica and Kathy
were strategic and if there's even a chance that we
will see a resolution with her friendship with Kyle this season.
There's actually so much to talk about, with so many
inside revelations from our point of view, So sit back
and relaxis. We unpacked the wonderful world of the Real
(01:07):
Housewives of Beverly Hills Season fourteen, Episode one. Welcome back
to the podcast again, Alana McLean.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Well, it's nice to see you. I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
It's very early in the morning here, so I'm on
coffee number three.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
How are you on coffee number three? I'm in Melbourne
and it's eleven thirty and I've done one.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I have two in the morning, two espresso shots, and
then just before we chatted, I thought I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Going to grab a little another one.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, good for you, but then that'll be I don't
really yeah, and then it's time for Chardi.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
I have to say, because you were talking to me
about this the other day, about us doing Salt Lake City,
I'm really enjoying it because of one thing, which I
think is going to be.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
From a Newport. Yeah, she's the best.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's the best debut season I have seen from anyone
in I don't know, maybe potentially. Ever, I literally woke
up this morning at five am to.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Watch the new one.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
It's just in every episode she's just more and more fat,
Like I just could.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Not love her more.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
The outfits, the looks amazing, but also what she has
to say and what she has to contribute is phenomenal
considering that it's quite a few seasons in. But this
is my Lisa Renner moment because I joined Beverly Hills
as Lisa Renna did, so I'm now joining salt Lake
with Bronwyn.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I don't think you're the only one.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
I think salt Lake is getting such praise online. They
are understanding the assignment. Every episode is like riveting. I'm
enjoying every single episode. The dynamic is always changing. There's
never an episode that you watch where you're like that
was a bit of a filler, you know. I just
feel like it's they're always bringing it. And Bromwin she's
so intelligent, but she's so measured and controlled, and everything
(02:44):
that she says is like a Mike Tyson punt, but
she says it in such a calm, considered way.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I just, oh, I'm just loving it.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I heard this that a girlfriend of mine dressed her
children up as receipts for Halloween.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
For Halloween, stop it. That is the best thing I've
ever heard.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Apparently walking around doing trick or treating dressed us with
the receipts. What's the other thing there was?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
One of them was dressed my god screenshots timeline.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
There we go. The children were dressline. I'm sure they
have no idea what their parents dressed them.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
A little bit inappropriate, but I'm here for it.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Also, can I say something really random as well to
start with this, because like we're going to get into
real housewives at Beverly Hill, So that's what we're going
to talk about today. Next week, I we'll throw salt
Lake into it. Did you pick up on the fact
that they were using a song for the first time
repeatedly through the episode, which was that I Love my
Life song?
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:38):
I did. Actually I was like, oh, well.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
I thought that that would be like a pop song
in the US, like it must be something big. Yeah,
but that's TV music, you know, that's royalty free TV music,
So like it's not even a hit, sort of.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Like all the music they play in selling Sunset, You're
sort of like, it's not a common song. But like,
this is a banger and I actually have tried to
look up music from selling.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Some said before, did you.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Pick up on the new shooting style for the series
as well. They've got a new way of being able
to shoot the episodes with these new micro cameras where
they can focus in on the shoes, the jewelry, the locations.
They've got like new technology, and I have to say
it makes the show so schmick.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yes, visually it adds another layer for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
I'm waiting to hear the taglines because they don't do
the taglines in the first episode.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
I think they dropped them as a promo so that
all the taglines usually come out like a few days
before episode two online somewhere.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
She did look quite a small cast when they had
the title screen up with all of them, I was like, Oh,
this looks tiny, Like it looks like, you know, they're
missing a few It.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Does look like a smaller cast. There was a lot
of talk about Eileen Davidson coming back for this series,
and after watching episode one, I kind of realized why
they might have been knocking on her door because when
Aileen left, she was really taking Derete to task over
quite a few things, and then when they flashed back
with Eileen Davidson the next series, she came in and
sat down with Lisa Renner and Erica Jane and she
(05:03):
was shocked to hear that everyone was now friends with Deret.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Eileen, I'm just as surprised as you are. What's going on.
I'm sorry, everything's good with you. She and Durite worked
their thing out.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
And that was the point where it sort of press
pause on Durette's personality and we got Vanilla to read,
so it kind of would make sense to pick up
that storyline.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
I feel like Eileen is like Bromwin from Salt Lake
City Lovely. She was polite, but she had something to
say and she would say it, but her delivery wasn't
abrasive or aggressive. It was always said with a bit
of grace, and I think she has never lost any
of her stardom or fan club. Online social media is
(05:43):
always here for Eileen, and I loved her too. But
we've got some other newcomers which are making it interesting.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
So yeah, you're right, we need to talk about these
new editions. So Boseman, who after last season's new edition,
which fell very flat, Boseman comes in really strong. You
could tell that she is a yes, that she has
the ability to stand up and be quite real against
people like Kathy Hilton, which we saw with Kathy Hilton
pulling all the hair out.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Oh my god, that was so good.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
The look on her face was just like I cannot
with this. She was not afraid to show her facial
expressions or anything in front of Gathy Hilton.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
She was like, this is wild.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
We are at a ball, sister, and you're just taking
out these excessions at your head, your own hair. Even
if my wig was falling halfway to the side, I'd
be sitting here like this holding it up. But for
me to take it off and sitting in the chair.
When I tell you, never seen that in my life.
I've never seen that in my life.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
The girls have always been kind of like, oh, there's
Kathy Hilton. They just let her go and be weird,
and they don't challenge her on anything apart from Lisa Rina,
who they were gone by the next series. I know.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
But bose I mean, look, I agree with you. I
think the second she got out of that car in
that beautiful cream dress and all the ruffles and she
had her assistant behind her like constantly like placing them
and every I think, I just thought, this is someone
who's got star appeal.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
You were instantly interested.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
And I think her friendship with Dereite, we can already
see some strong bonds starting to form there, and I
think that's going to be really interesting to watch that
over the course of this season, because Deret was kind
of almost a little bit on an island, and I thought, yeah,
she's going to come in, she's clocked in, she's ready
to fire, But who's going to be her ally? And really,
Erica Jane was the only one that was going to
(07:27):
be in her corner. But she's in a very hard
place because she's in between the friendship. She's equally friends
with Kyle. She's going to get stuck in the middle.
She's not really going to say too much, as Erica
doesn't in regards to picking one side over another. So
I think Bose and her Deret, They're going to have
(07:48):
plenty to say.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
But I feel like I can see the producers behind
the scenes of this very first episode. I think that
Bozman has been brought in and worded up to be
Durete's friend because both does not strike me as the
sort of person who would warm to a Derete type personality.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
I've got no interest, told her you right now. In
Jennifer Tilly and their Friendship. I said it last year
when she appeared on a couple of things, and when
she rocked up to that ball she looked like Burke's
crazy old auntie.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
All I was thinking was, oh my god, just no
sad heaven.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
I'm like you are, just I've just got no interest.
I don't want to see their friendship when there's like
scenes where you're like, you've just wasted eight minutes. I
want to get to something I care about. That for
me was their chat in the kitchen, and that to
me was the Crystal Brother vibes where.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I'm like, I've just got no interest in this.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
I couldn't agree with you more on this. I mean,
I loved her in those Chucky movies. I loved her
in some of her early nineties work, but that doesn't
seem to be a real reason to include her. I
feel like something can do things by herself, and unlike
the reason why Kathy seems to be back, which is
seeing Derete go to Kathy's house, just I don't know.
(09:01):
That just doesn't seem to be any purpose. But I
guess what do you think about the other new friend
being Kathy and Derete going over to Kathy's house bypassing Kyle.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
You know, that is one of the key issues that
her and Kyle are having in this friendship, was her
sort of almost standing up more for Kathy than she
did for Yle. Kyle's really pissed about it, and Erica
and Lisa Rinner got absolutely scorned for trying to sort
of bring, you know, to light Kathy being shady towards
(09:31):
her sister. And I just thought that's really weird that
now she's sort of hanging out at Kathy's house talking
about her relationship. I would have thought Kathy would have
been under strict instructions. You're here for me as in
Kyle and you are a friend of You're not like
a diamond holder, and.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
You were here to be my sister.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
So I thought that was really, you know, again, maybe
a production move to sort of play on that dynamic
and fan the flames of that feud.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
To read playing this very this is an amazing boss
move from Deret. You go hard, and she has gone hard.
She went straight off to Erica Jane, looped Erica Jane
in and then she went for her sister. And so like,
if you're going to take Kyle down, which is what
this series is going to be about, you want to
make sure that you take away her two right hand women.
And I think that's what Dereid's gone to Kathy, and
(10:21):
she knows exactly what she's doing. She wants to get
Kathy onside to undermine Kyle, and if Kyle loses Erica
Jane and her sister, we're going to see her lose
her mind.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
I just feel like the Kathy thing.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
I mean, it'd be interesting to see how much they
include her in this season, Like is she sort of
going to be there every episode, but she just doesn't
want the title of Diamond holder, therefore the pressures of
having to actually give us anything real about her life,
and she's just going to sworn in and out of
the parties.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
I think the inside tea, without it being a bit
of a spoiler, was that even Kyle Richard's. After they
finished filming, she was asked on a red carpet Kathy
and she said it was really good to have Kathy
there this season because Kathy was really there for her.
So I think we're going to see a lot of Kathy,
and I think that Kathy is going to be playing
Derete like a fiddle, and I think that there'll be
(11:12):
a change. I think there's going to be a shift
in the dynamics between Kathy and Dereite. I don't think
it's going to play out the way that Durit thinks
it's going to.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
We just need to get into the Derete of it all,
because really this whole episode was just her show essentially.
Can we start with the iconic cruising down at Kenyon
and lighting.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Up a sig?
Speaker 3 (11:32):
I mean that has just been on every meme on
my social media for the past like two days.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
The fuck is smoking out the window driving down Beverly Hills.
I don't think anyone has smoked out a window with
an actual cigarette, which is like a VHS player, you know,
like it is an old thing to do to be
smoking the old cigarettes out the window. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
I mean, obviously she is a smoker, but they've kept
that very far away, and I mean this is where
you do talk about the production.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
They've kept that very far.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Away from being on camera or being any part of
her image. But I think what that represented is the
start of the mask falling to rate. You know, she's
been more casual, She's in her genes. She's saying to
Kavi Hilton, Oh, I haven't had you know, I didn't
brush my hair this morning.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
I mean, she still looks amazing, let's be honest. But
I think this is going to be.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
The start of that scrappy, real rawness and she's she's.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Come to play one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
But I also think we've seen seasons like that before,
like with Erica Jane and the gloss and the facade.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
It gets stripped away.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
And that actually becomes really interesting for the audience and
to take us on that journey. And I think that's
what we're going to see with her. I mean, the
accents disappearing second by second. Let's let's be real about that.
I'm not going to take this shit, Kyle. I'm like, okay,
so we're not international anymore, okay.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Noted.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
What I thought about the smoking is in television and
film these days, we only really see people smoking if
they're trying to tell the audience that this is the
bad guy. Like that is very oliving Newton John and Greece.
When they wanted us as the audience to see Sandy
make that shift, they gave her a cigarette and so gee,
and that's what they did with de Dreta is smoking
(13:12):
with leather pants, and I'm like, this is a nod
to us as the audience, to let us know, if
we're not already that stupid, that Dreta is the bad guy. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Well, I mean we saw the start of the fight,
the confrontation between her and Kyle at the end, and
then they left us hanging with a two B continued,
which I thought, you know, it's frustrating, but I was like,
that's actually genius for a debut episode of the new season.
To leave us on a cliffhangout wasn't halfway through the season.
(13:40):
It was already leaving us in that place. We were like,
oh my god, game on. We want more. And you know,
I sort of thought they've really given her a shove,
They've given her a scare because, as we know last season,
at the end of last season, allegedly she was on
the chopping block. They had said to her, look, we
don't think you know. They left it till the eleventh
(14:00):
out of sign her when the reports were allegedly that
she was unless you're going to give us everything about
this split with PK, unless you're going to give us
something real, unless you're going to dive into this Kyle drama,
we're not going to sign you. So obviously, pretty soon
after that's when she released that statement and here we are,
(14:20):
and she when Kyle said to I don't even know
who you are.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Right now when you're farting.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
I thought, well, because I sort of want that she's
deliberately dialing this up to keep that check.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I kind of feel like, what was odd about this episode?
And maybe you will see this too, but why bring
the boys in having a boys catch up when they're
not on the show? That was really not to say yes,
like Moe coming on and having a chant with PK.
Why are you both on camera like you've only ever
been on camera before when you've come along as plus
ones to hang out with your wives. And then now
(14:51):
we've got this little moment with PK being like did
he ring the producers and say I know that I'm
no longer with Direte, but I still want to be
on the show.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Like it made I don't know what happened here.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
But it was actually interesting because I sort of felt
like his emotion and him explaining it was probably one
of the most genuine moments on the episode.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Like I actually was like, Oh, this is really interesting
watching him kind.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Of talk about it because she, you know, they sort
of did that split where it was like him talking
with Mauricio, but then it was showing what she was
saying to Kathy and sort of trying to marry up
the story.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
But I just felt the.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Way he was explaining it came across a so much
more authentic than what she was saying. And the fact
that now she's going around telling everyone he's a full
blown alcoholic and that term was used, you know a
couple of times. I thought, Wow, like she is stripping
it all back, she is going in. I feel like
something more has happened with them behind the scenes. I
(15:46):
have a feeling maybe Camille was right a few seasons
ago when she talked about the money pKa owing people
money and she was like, you're a little sneak, But
maybe there was more to it, and it's that's what
she's kept away from the camera now. Maybe she's pissed
and to put labels on that like, you're a full
blown alcoholic, and she's telling people like both, so she's
(16:09):
known all of a hot minute.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
I'm like, wow, she is really she's coming hard.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
I mean this whole episode, I just kept hearing the
Wicked Witch of the West theme song playing in the
background the whole time while she was on camera as.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Well, because I was a little bit confused.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
I mean, obviously we keep up to date with the
lease things on social media in real time, and then
we're sort of watching this and it's back. But he's
been sober for quite a while now, so I'm like,
I don't know if using the term look, I don't
know where he is on the journey.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
But my understanding was that he is sober. When they
broke up, he was sober.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
So to now come out and say he is a
full blown alcoholic, I was like, well, we've never heard
about this in seven years.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Is he recovering? Is he in the midst of it?
Where is it at? Because she was making it sound
like it was current and there were things.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
That were as a result of that that has broken
up the marriage, And when I watched him talk to Mauricio,
I was like, oh, I don't think that is what's
happened at all.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
I understand the drinking, and I certainly understand the sobering
up and leaving her, because if I was sober, I
don't know if I'd be able to continue that relationship.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Well, there's obviously a lot of issues there, and ultimately
it's so sad.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
They have got two little kids.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
And I think, you know, when we saw the start
of their relationship when she first came in and they
were friends with Lisa vander Pump and Ken and they're
at lunch and she's like, oh, I just love my husband.
I wouldn't look at another man, and you know, they did.
They seem like they had a great time. But as
we've seen with Kyle and Mauricio, and I sort of
thought it was a bit rich because there was something
that Kyle said where she was like, we just didn't
see the signs and I was thinking, well, hello, pot
(17:43):
kettle like and then all of a sudden, it was
like in the tabloids and we were all expected to
be like, oh, okay, well we saw that coming. We didn't,
and we didn't see it with these guys either.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
There was a couple of seasons ago and I can't
remember who it was. Maybe it even goes to Brandy,
But someone highlighted the marriages very early on and was like,
all of these women are not showing their real relationships.
It's all smoopy whoopy for the cameras. But they claimed
that behind closed doors there was issues across all marriages.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I almost wonder as we're talking, and I didn't really
think of this when we're watching the episode, but potentially,
I mean, yeah, just back to the claims around him
being a full blown alcoholic, is she steering people a
little bit more in that direction to hide what else
was happening aka could be money problems allegedly don't know?
Is it that sort of like, Okay, well, we have
(18:32):
to have some kind of reason for this abrupt halt.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
And we don't want it to be the money reason,
so maybe we'll turn the narrative this way. It could be,
but it is really sad, And that was what I
sort of liked about his chat with Mauricio.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
He's like, it is different for me than with you
and Kyle, because we do have young kids. We actually
haven't told them anything yet. That's a personal choice that
we've made. I mean, these kids aren't tiny. They're still
going to understand what's happening at some point. So will
we watch that unravel?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I mean, this is I'm not a parent and you're
not a parent, so we're going to be really careful. AI.
But the conscious decision and the fact that DREI came
out and watch What Happens Live this week to say
that the children still haven't been addressed to me. With
the friends that I have, and they've all got children
of the same age as these two young kids, my
friends have very adult conversations with their children, and especially
(19:24):
my friends that are in the media, they have to
be so careful about what is out there and arming
the children with the information before they're caught out.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
I get what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
I mean, now that it's all going to air and
this is all going to be playing out, hopefully things
stay as amicable as what they're trying to say it
is that we're seeing on this episode. But I mean,
in terms of her relationship breaking down with PK and
then this relationship with Kyle, I just think that is a.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Lot of trauma.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
That is a lot of close people that you had
and now this year you don't have them, So where
does she go from here out?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
What are we going to see? But I think it
will be a little bit like that Erica Jane ark,
which you know was out of her control. But it's
sort of like that episode.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
She was messy, she was scrappy, she was emotional, she
was ruthless, and then we sort of have watched the
redemption and her come back out on top.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
But I mean, in a.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Weird way, she might have bought herself a couple more
years whereas before she was.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
I always had this feeling that Tom Dourrati separated from
Erica Jane just before things got really bad, and that
there was a lot of heat that would have been
on both of them. And I feel like, you know,
Tom definitely did the wrong thing by all of the claims,
but I yes that he separated from Erica and detached
himself so that she would not go down with him.
And I somehow think that there was some heat circulating
(20:46):
Piquet and that just that idea keeps coming into my
head that they have separated so that Durret doesn't go
down with him, because I mean, Howie and staying at
the Beverly Hills hotel, because that, to me doesn't make
any sense because I don't know if you've looked up
the prices of that place, but it ain't a place
that you're residencing at. I don't know where he's getting
all of his money to be able to stay there
like that to me.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
No, I know, Well, and he was spending so much
time in London, and wasn't he filming a show over there?
Like all of a sudden he was like, Oh, I'm
back doing real estate and I'm going to do this
show and he was in London.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
But you're right.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
I mean, look, if we look back, you know Camille
mentioning the money that was a couple of seasons ago
the Dui Sutton had said, well, there was rumors that
there was a woman in the car with him, you know,
and she had to sort of defend that and be
like that's outrageous, not just the streets talking over there,
but also these little tidbits.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
That we can now look back on and connect. Over
the last few years, there's obviously.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Been some issues and you know, I guess we knew
him when they first came on the scene and he
was talent manager for Boy George, but then all of
a sudden, he was doing all these other things, and
I just sort of, yeah, you're right, I think when you.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Sort of start looking back.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
But look, he even said admittedly and own conversation with Maurice,
who goes, I've been working around the clock to try
and sustain the lifestyle that she's become accustomed to. So
did things get out of control at some point and
he's hidden things from her or whatever? Or to your point,
watching her friend Erica go through this with Tom, has
she seen some red flags that she's gone, Oh my god,
(22:19):
like I could be in this same position. I'm going
to distance myself and get out now. I don't think
we're getting told the full story.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
And where they smoke this fire. The whole commentary on Reddit,
on all social media boards is all about this takedown
of Kyle Richards, and that's not just from Deret. The
promo does continuously allude to the fact that there's a
lot of her cast members coming for her this season.
I want to know, from your point of view, why
are all these women doing this? Like, why have the
(22:46):
women put a target on Kyle? What has she really done?
I want to know what you think. Why are they
all of these women putting a target on her. Why
Kyle Richards, I don't.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I really really don't know, except for the fact that potentially,
you know, with social media and the noise that gets
made with everyone, particularly since Lisa Rinna left saying it's boring,
there's not much going on.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
You're watching a few episodes where you're like, well, I.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Could give all take like it's neither here nor there,
unless they've just sort of thought maybe that's the one
thing that could shift the dynamic.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I don't know. It'll be interesting.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
It's kind of a shame because for Kyle and Derete
to both be going through these separations at the same
sort of time, you would think that they would be
the closest and they could really bond over that and
they would really you know, I would love to see
them sort of start their new chapters together and what
that looks like as women, you know, in their early
fifties going through this second stage. But if that friendship
(23:46):
becomes irreparable, I don't know where it goes from there.
I don't know about the Kyle situation. I think social
media is an interesting one with Garcela and Sutton too,
because they were obviously the duo and everyone love them,
but I'm just starting to see them as more mean
girls now too.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
I just think some of the stuff that Garcel says
to Dereat or about her, and I'm like, it's so unwarranted.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I know they don't like each other that much, but again,
when we're saying, well, what did she actually do to you?
I don't think Darite did anything to Garsell. Garcell just
took offence to everything she said and then made it
her just seem like she was a whole different person.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
I was like, I don't think that's necessarily true.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
I think Arcel was asked once what her problem was
with Derete and she actually said to the camera, I
don't know, I don't know, yeah you know, and so like,
I mean, it was probably one of Garcel's finer moments
in my mind, of her being really honest and just saying, yeah,
I do have a problem and I don't know.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I get that, Like she has been there since SA,
So I don't think she's got a huge ego that
she's running around being like a Lisa vander Pump like
where she's expecting everyone to do everything a certain way
or say things a certain way, but I think if
you've been there.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
That long, surely a respect level is given. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
I mean I've never seen anything where I've thought, oh
my god, like in the whole time we've been watching
as a viewer, where I've gone, she's really in the
wrong here, she's called it wrong.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
I don't think when she had that five with Lisa
Vanda Pump I was teen.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Kyle.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
I think she is a good voice of reason.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
I don't know how things are going to play out
with her in Deret is not looking good. It's interesting
as well because we saw that scene with her talking
to Garcelle and about you know, her sexuality and you know,
the girl that shall not be named, And that was
weird as well because I was like, well, hang on,
you brought her on the show. We've seen her on
(25:35):
the show, We've seen the film clip, we've seen you
looking like a flirty schoolgirl with her, and now all
of a sudden, we can't mention her name. So I mean,
when we're talking about Kyle being the og and the
power that maybe she has even though she hasn't done
anything that we've hated as a viewer, but maybe there
is still some power there that now she's gone, Okay,
(25:56):
well now I've changed my mind and now we're not
going to talk about it.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Do you think the Carle Richards has had I mean,
this is a gross question, It's a really gross question.
But do you think that they've hooked up?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
I think something has happened romantically. I would have thought so.
I mean, there was just so much and even now, like.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
There's still you know, there's social media that pops up
and she's at her shows in different states, and there
was a photo that she uploaded on a safari in
South Africa and somebody zoomed in on like the safari,
like the rearview mirror, and was like, oh my god,
is that Morgan in the background.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
I don't know. I mean, I just I don't know.
I would think yes, But then I'm like, but why
is she being so secret about it?
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Why? Because she's sort of been quite open in that
she's saying, well, I hadn't questioned my sexuality, but then
I kind of did. So I don't know why she's
been If you're already saying that, why can't we say
if anything's happened. Unless something happened and then they've gone
nowhere just better as friends and so it's not worth
opening the can of worms.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Potentially makes me think of whether or not she had
relations with Teddy Bellencamp, because that rumor about Teddy and
Kyle was around before Morgan Wade, Like people were talking
about those two in a sexual relationship prior. I don't know,
maybe Kyle Richards has been thinking about her sexuality for
a lot longer than we realize.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Yeah, that could be true maybe.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
And that's okay too, do you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Like, because in of course, of course, but I think
she was the one that got quite defensive about all that,
and she was like, well, why can't Teddy and I
share a bed after a drunken night out and then
that dinner that they had at niece Richard's house, and
she was like, oh, apparently I'm a lesbian, and like
got really defensive And this was all well and truly
before her and Mo had split. So you know, Teddy,
(27:40):
as we know, has now filed for divorce as well
from Edwin after allegedly having this apair. So obviously things
weren't all happy in her marriage either. So there's obviously
a lot that we feel like we see and you know,
they always say, oh, we're on a reality show. We
have to show our true lives, and we have to
and I think we do to a certain degree, but
(28:02):
there's still a lot that we don't.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Just two things to finish on is garcel is the
new Crystal of the season. She's sort of like, what
are you doing there? I mean, I felt like her
catching up with her son Oliver was like giving me
Crystal vibes, catching up with her brother about his djan
career or whatever the hell that was. It's like, it
was such a strong first episode and then we get
a garcel moment where she talks about, yeah, with her
(28:27):
son and maybe the always her at a laptop.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
You know, working away and working away. I mean, Garcelle's
pretty strong in a lot of other ways.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
So I'm hoping that was just kind of like one
of the episodes where she wasn't doing much. I have
faith that she will bring more to the table. But
Sutton's the wild card there for me, because you just
it looks like in the trailer we're going to see
her turn against Kyle as well.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
But just we've already just.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Seen this debut episode and all she was saying was
how much she miss Kyle, and she loves Kyle, and
she wants to be friends with Kyle, and she wants
to send her online shopping things.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
So I just I never know which way she's going
to go.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
She's a flipper. But you know that's fine for Sutton
because that's her personality. I will give Sutton some credit,
and that was that. I thought she looked very beautiful
in this episode. There was many moments where I looked
at her and I thought, you are looking exquisite.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
You know, Yes, she.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Was looking very polished, and I love on the title
card her with.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
The longer hair.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
I thought, oh, she's channeling a little bit of Erica
Jane there. But she Yeah, she looks stunning. She's when
she's at her bess, she's great. But I just can't
handle that inconsistency. It just throws me off. That's one
personality trait that I just can't I can't deal.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
No. Push her off a cliff. I mean, the biggest
problem I have with her tig statement today, push her
off a cliff. My biggest problem with Sutton was her
taking Lisa Renn at a task and then taking over
from Lisa Renner's job like the following season, So like,
you can't spend a whole season critiquing someone and stirring
the pot and then come back the next year dressed
(29:56):
up as Lisa Renner like that to me, was it?
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Social media is a light.
Everyone's got something to say, and that's more than we've
had from debut episodes in some prior season. So I
think they're off to a good start, and I think
the addition of Bose will add a good layer.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
We'll see what.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Happens with Kyl and Dart, But I mean, look, we're
watching interviews play out now after filming is wrapped, and
even Erica Jane, she's quite open and saying, look, they're
better than where they were, but it's still not all kumbaya.
So I don't think we're going to see a full
circle moment where it goes from the conflict to the resolution.
I think there's obviously still a lot there to sustain
(30:35):
that over eighteen episodes. To know that they're not just
going to get miraculously back to where they were a
couple of episodes in.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
I'm keen to watch that dynamic change for sure.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Well, Part two's exclusive preview that is on Bravo on YouTube,
you can now watch. You can watch the first seven
minutes of the new of episode two. You can watch
a new promo of episode two that is now available.
And as I said, Mandy Cooin did mention that the
taglines might be available two days before episode two as well.
So if you like spoiling things, you can go on
(31:04):
to Bravo and check that out. And if you like me,
I try and stay away from them as best I
can so that I can enjoy the episodes called what
they are, but you never can.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
I just I'm concentrated to watch. I haven't watched.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
No, I watched the episodes with everyone else, but all
the sort of like little bits that they leak online
on socials, I'm always about those and then I send
them to everyone I know my inbox. If people want
to follow us on Instagram and then send us a
DM about anything they want us to dive into our
opinions on the show or whatever, please do that so
then we can, yeah, we can, you know, build up
(31:38):
our little community.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
This is the first time that we've done.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
And dedicated Housewives recap and we're sort of trialing it out.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
So if there's anything you sort of want.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Us to do a little bit more, we would love
to hear hashtag feedback.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
What's your Instagram?
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Alana McLean official? There we go, all one word. I
love it.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
All right, I'm going to go.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
I'll talk to you soon. Why
