Hall of Fame wide receiver Andre Reed is back on Unglossy with Bun B, Tom Frank, and Jeffrey Sledge for Part 2 of our conversation. This time, the Bills legend opens up about life after football and the season ahead—mixing wisdom, humor, and a few bold predictions.

From surviving –43 degree temperatures in Alaska to calling a 13-4 record for Buffalo this year, Andre gives us his unfiltered take on extreme conditions, fantasy football sleepers, and why Kansas City is still the mountain the Bills must climb. He draws parallels between NFL rivalries and modern rap beefs, breaks down why the defensive line will decide Buffalo’s Super Bowl hopes, and explains why Bills Mafia is the best fan base in sports.

Along the way, Andre reflects on meeting his wife the day he got the Hall of Fame call, what legacy really means, and how authenticity defines both football greatness and life beyond the game.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
When I go to the hall every year, when I put on that
yellow jacket not going to lieto you y'all I'm a little
different person when I'm aroundall the Hall of Famers Just a
little bit different Right fromthe start.
I'm amongst greatness 120 guyswhose journeys maybe have been

(00:22):
similar, maybe not, but we allwent through something to get to
that point.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
From the top.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
I'm Tom Frank.
I'm Jeffrey Sledge.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
And I'm Bud B, welcome to Unglossy.

voices moving culture beyond thegloss of hype and headlines.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
So buckle up.
Unglossy starts now.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
We're back with part two of our conversation with
Hall of Famer Andre Reid.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
And my wife, who we've been married a year and a
half now.
No, almost two years, two yearsnow.
I'm glad she ain't here becauseI might get that wrong.
I was about to say you betterget that right.
She might come out of nowhere, you don't know how long you've
been married Exactly.

(01:15):
You better recognize them orsomething.
But she's a sports marketingagent, so I met her the day I
got the call for the Hall ofFame in 2014.
She was the first one tointerview me Wow, in New York
City, when the Super Bowl wasthere that year and she loves

(01:38):
sports.
She's actually from New Jersey, was born in Alaska.
Bun you ever been to Alaska?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
I have.
I've been to Anchorage and itain't too much around there, but
Anchorage.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I've been higher than you.
Fairbanks, which is aboutFairbanks, is up there, bro.
You can smell polar bears.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
You got to take the little plane to get to Fairbanks
?
Yeah, you do, and I don't meanthe jet, you got to take the
twin props.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
You got to take that little one.
That goes.
You got to take that one.
And her parents were born fromPhiladelphia, from New Jersey,
so she's Italian, she's got NewJersey in her she's.
You know, girls from New Jersey, they're Italians, they have no

(02:26):
filter at all.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I'm married to a Philadelphia, new Jersey,
italian.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Does she?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
have a filter.
She don't got no filter, nofilter.
And man, when it comes tosports, we get out of her way.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
So she was in sports her whole life.
They moved to Alaska and sheplayed basketball and her mom
told her your mom's a teacher,her dad's a teacher, sister's a
teacher, they're all teachers.
Her mom said to her when shewas in high school why don't you
be a teacher?
And she said you know what I'mgoing to get into sports.

(02:59):
So she's a sports marketingagent and she is phenomenal,
she's awesome at what she does.
So, plus, she has to deal withme.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Toughest client of all, exactly.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Exactly the toughest of all, but I'm a little softy
when it comes to herself.
What can I imagine?
And Alaska is a different bird.
So fairbanks is about 600 milesfrom the arctic circle.
So yeah, you're, you're way upthere.
Yeah, every day I was there, Iwas looking outside to see some

(03:38):
big, something big and white, come strolling through a big old
bear or something.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
You thought it was cold in Buffalo.
That's a whole nother cold Bruh.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Quick story the first time I was up there I looked at
the clock on the University ofAlaska.
It was minus 43.
No wind, Not a wind chill.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Nothing Minus 43 degrees outside.
I don't even know what thatdoes to the body?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I don't either.
I know what it does to the eyesshit.
You don't even go out, you lookat it, you stay in.
That's what you do.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
We get a little of that with the heat Bro minus 43.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
You know it's pretty bad when the car is hooked up to
some electric and it don'tstart.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
And it still don't start.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
It still don't start.
It just says no, I ain't doingit today.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Matter of fact I ain't doing it ever.
This is my thing.
I do prefer the cold to theheat and I'll tell you why.
Yeah, give me that one.
If it's cold outside I couldput on enough layers and gloves
and face masks and all thesethings and I can get a level of

(05:03):
warmth, but if it's down, here.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
when it's 100 degrees outside, I can get a level of
warmth, but if it's down hereand you see when- it's 100
degrees outside you can getbutt-ass naked and you're still
hot.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
You are still hot.
You can take off everything onyou and you're just naked and
hot.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
You can't even peel.
You're trying to peel off yourskin.
You're trying to peel off.
Hey, maybe I can take this off.
It'll be good.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
You, you trying to peel off your skin, you trying
to peel off.
Hey, maybe I could take thisoff, it'll be good.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
You might want to take a bath, you just go sit in
the tub all day.
Man that Texas heat ain't nojoke.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, it's not.
That's 100 degrees, like 100days in a row, but you know
people that live up in coldweather love to come to the heat
for the summer, and people thatlive in the heat love to come
to the heat for the summer, andpeople that live in the heat
love to go to the cold for thewinter.
I'm looking for a whiteChristmas.
Every Christmas, I'm lookingfor a white Christmas.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, there ain't no white, but here you can go.
I'm two hours from Palm Springs, so that's Right now in Palm
Springs it's like 115.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
That's the desert that's different.
That's dry like 115.
That's the desert, that'sdifferent.
That's dry 115.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I can deal with that.
I played golf in 100 degrees,110.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
That's dry heat, here is humidity, so you got heat
coming down and you got heatcoming up.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Yeah, you're right about that Totally different
beast?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, it is.
It's a totally different beast.
But you know what, as long asthere's water around, I'm good
to go.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Amen to that.
That's the key Hope we lostJeff for now Looks like we lost
Jeff this time.
We're going to keep going.
So I got to ask you about thisHighmark Stadium Last year in
the stadium Looks like we lostJeff this time.
We're going to keep going.
So I got to ask you about thisGo ahead Highmark.
Stadium.
Last year in the stadium yougot Buffalo Bills on hard knocks
.
You got a really promisingseason coming up.

(06:56):
What's your take and correct meif I'm wrong you are the guy on
the game number one.
What's the tradition?
There's a tradition in Buffalo, right where you're going to be
honored.
It's called Game one.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
You lead the charge.
It's called.
Okay, I'm actually going to bethere hyping up the crowd.
You know it's calledBaltimore's coming in, lamar's
coming in.
Yeah, it's Sunday night openinggame.
Thursday night or Sunday night,I think it's Sunday night
football Opening game.
It's going to be bananas bro.

(07:30):
That's what Tom said, dude, andthey're going to try to avenge
what happened last year.
So right now, most publicationsand most people in the media,
they're talking about Josh LamarAFC Championship again Talking
about A're talking about JoshLamar AFC Championship again

(07:52):
Talking about AFC ChampionshipJosh Lamar it's not that I don't
see that.
Bill's got a pretty toughschedule.
They got some trap games Likeeverybody has trap games every
year but this will set the tone, whoever wins this game will set

(08:12):
the tone for the season forthem.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Absolutely.
They're going to spend the restof the season trying to live it
down.
Is what's going to happen.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Of course, because, guess what?
That'll be the game that theylike in week 11, they'll be like
oh man, yep, Yep, back in theday, it was always us against
Miami Marino, all them dudes.
It was always us against.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Miami.
Yeah, yeah, andre, quickquestion, and no disrespect to
Jim Kelly, because obviouslyhe's Hall of Famer.
Is Josh the best quarterbackyou've seen?

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Go ahead.
Oh, I froze up on this.
Oh, he's reconnecting.
We're trying to do a podcast.
He might just be standing still.
Maybe I'm in a different room.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Let me go in a different room, guys.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
He might just be standing still right, it's safer
to connect, all right, hopefully he pops in when he
pops back in we'll finish withthat.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
We'll go into some predictions for the year and
then we're up over an hour, although we've lost a little
time in there about six minutesmaybe.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
So, we should still close around 1-5.
Depending on how long it takesfor this to fully shut down and
then him come back in.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Yeah, To get in.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
The feel is mutual.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I'm telling you, he's definitely a big fan of yours,
man.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Like when we lost the Oilers, I was like I'm going to
just go be a Buffalo fan for aminute, you know.
But I was really know.
I didn't really care aboutfootball in the same way.
I didn't want to walk away fromthe sport fully and just not
watch football.
But it's hard if you don't havea dog in it.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I can't imagine growing up in a city and having
your team taken away.
That would be just rip it outof you.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
It's still weird now because of the way it was done
and because of the fact thatthere's new ownership and a new
team here.
Like we can't properly retirepeople Like there is no like,
for example, earl Campbell right, one of the greatest players
ever.
If you wanted to retire hisjersey, technically you have to

(10:27):
retire it in Tennessee, but henever played in Tennessee.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Oh, because they're.
I guess the same thing could besaid about Baltimore, right?
Because?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Sorry guys, I moved out of that room.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Maybe that was it.
No, no, you're good, you'regood, okay, go ahead.
We.
Maybe that was it.
No, no, you're good, You'regood, okay, go ahead.
We'll wrap up with this though.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
We want to hear what you think of the upcoming year,
what you think about the newstadium, and it's really going
to make an impact in Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah, I think the Bills.
I think the Bills, obviouslythey're going to win.
I think they win the AFC East.
I think they're going to be.
I'm not counting Kansas Cityout, y'all, I'm not going to
that'd be the wrong thing to do.
They still got Mahomes and agreat coach, andy Reid.

(11:15):
I think it's going to be arepeat of last year to a certain
point.
The Bills have to get over.
They got to beat Kansas Citybottom line even before,
whatever happens, the first gameof Baltimore.
Kansas City is still thereigning AFC champion, josh and

(11:40):
Lamar got to figure it outsomehow.
Hopefully it's Lamar, I meanJosh.
Nothing against Lamar, but tofigure it out somehow.
Hopefully it's Lamar, I meanJosh.
It's not against Lamar, butJosh is coming off an MVP season
.
That's the only thing he has todo now, him and Lamar is get
their team to a Super Bowl andwin.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
I think you guys have better wide receiver depth.
I think they have better rungame over there.
So I think you guys are fairlyeven match.
You know what I'm saying.
But Josh is just an animal of ahuman being in size and
fortitude.
Lamar is probably a mongooseplaying football because he's so
hard to catch.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
He is a crafty dude.
Lamar Josh is just a.
Put your head down.
I'm going to run you over, eventhough you're a linebacker.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah, it's that Cam Newton thing.
You know what?
Nobody's open.
I'm going to just tuck it andgo.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Most of y'all are smaller than me.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Most of you are smaller than me Most of it, yeah
, and what really set apart?

Speaker 2 (12:43):
what sets apart, josh , is that play.
Last year, to a certain pointwhen they played the 49ers in
Buffalo I was at that game snowhe throws a pass to Amari Cooper
and Amari Cooper pitches itback to him and he scores a
touch.
I mean just like, like Sandlot,he's playing Stanlock football

(13:07):
out there, but it'll beinteresting to see what that
what James Cook does.
That was going to be my nextquestion yeah.
We need, we need that guy.
That guy was 70, probably 45,50 per.
He was half of the offense andJosh was the other half.
So we need James Cook.

(13:30):
James, I hope you can see thispodcast with Bun B on here.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
We need you, bro, I can guarantee you, guarantee you
, james Cook will be listeningto this podcast.
I can guarantee it, jc, we needyou.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
I think you're right, because quarterback play you
guys match up very well.
Running back play you guysmatch up very well.
I think it's going to come downto receiver depth.
I really do.
They've got the young guys overthere, like Keon going.
I think Keon is on par for agreat, great opportunity this
season.
They can fully integrate him.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
This year he's got to step up.
He's got to step up this year.
It's his second year he's gotto step up.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
I think he's got the talent.
Oh yeah, he does.
I think now he's going to haveroom to show it, he's going to
have time to show it.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah, he's been with Josh a year or two now, so hey,
let's go.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
They should have that rhythm by now Be the number one
.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Be the number one guy .
We need you.
You're the number one guyDefensively, obviously, we saw
what Philadelphia did to theChiefs in the Super Bowl, the
first series.
The game was over.
I hate, I mean the game wasover.
I hate, I mean it wasn't overover cause it's Mahomes in them,
but they totally dismantledKansas city's offensive line.

(14:54):
So what did the bills do?
Defensive line, that's whatthey got.
The first four, three rounds.
They got put pressure on.
They got put pressure on everysingle quarterback Burrow, Lamar
, Mahomes.
They got to put pressure onthem and then cover behind it.
That's it.

(15:15):
That's the key for them,Because there's always been
defense for them later in theyear and in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
So they got to bring the heat up front.
If they can figure out this, Ifigured to me.
This is the way I'm looking atit.
If you guys can figure outKeyon before they figure out Zay
Flowers, because they've beenright there, They've been right
there.
Zay drops a few.
That's the only problem I'vereally had with zay flowers as a
receiver.
He drops a few.
I just feel like keon, justhasn't, hasn't been fully

(15:50):
engaged by the offensive umcoordinator.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I think now, yeah, he's gonna be engaged this year
because right now they he's gotto.
He's got to because they theydon't have that veteran guy like
they had last year with.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Amari Cooper right.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Amari Cooper.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
You know, when I played, we had me James Lofton.
James Lofton was already 12years in the league when he came
to Buffalo.
Don Beebe, oh wow, the whiteflash.
That's right, I forgot aboutDon.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Beebe, yeah, don Beebe.
Don Beebe, yeah, don Beebe theWhite.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Flash.
I saw him run dude.
I was like nothing againstwhite dudes, but I never saw a
white dude run like that.
That dude was faster yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
You get about one a decade.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
Right now it's.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
McCaffrey, but he can't keep his knee right.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
He can't stay on the field.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
I'm probably going to draft him anyway.
You know what some of ourplayers say hey, you can't make
plays in the tank boy, that'strue hey, will there be any part
of you?

Speaker 1 (17:01):
any part of you.
I want an honest answer here.
Bittersweet, if Buffalo were towin a Super Bowl and they get
one in one try.
Is there any party that's like?
I wanted to be the guy who didthat.
You're talking about a party.
I'm talking about winning itall the Super Bowl, Like being a
part of that team.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Well, I feel like I'm a part of that team, no matter
what.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah, maybe they'd give me a Super Bowl ring.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
They should.
You know what, dre, I'm likeyou.
I'm part of the team.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
I'm going to start telling them I'm part of the
organization.
Now You're part of theorganization.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
I think if Gilly could get a ring, I'd get a ring
.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Hey, I'll tell you what, though Hold on.
How did Gilly get a ring?

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Gilly was the mascot this year.
It wasn't the eagle.
Gilly was the official mascotof the Eagles this year.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
I met Gilly before.
I don't know I met Gilly before, but he like pass him Probably
at a Super Bowl.
I don't know I met Gilly before, but he was on the podcast.
Is that his podcast?
Is that Gilly's podcast?
Yeah, dude, yeah, I know.
This whole thing with Cam isjust off the chain.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
They need to cut that out.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
You got two alpha males competing on.
They're arguing about were yougood, as you say you were, in
this period, and am I good as Iam in this period?
As I say I am in this period,it's not that it doesn't make
sense.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I think Gilly has a valid point, but on Cam's side
of it, I mean really it's allabout that Jalen Hurts has this
and Cam don't got it Right.
Jalen Hurts got two Super Bowlrings, cam Newton has zero.

(18:56):
Why can't we just leave it atthat Now?
They acting really crazy, Ithink these things.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
This is what I talked about earlier, about when this
stuff happens in public, thereaction is different.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
I think, gilly and.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Cam in a room with themselves, no camera, just as
men.
I think they can push throughit, because you can't talk like
that if it's just Cam and Gillyin a room together, the
conversation does not have thismuch ego in it.
That I guarantee.
Of course it's very easy tothrow a rock from a safe place.

(19:34):
You know it's very easy on bothsides.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Yeah, but don't throw rocks in glass houses either.
I think you're right.
If they were sitting next toeach other in the same room,
they would squash all that, whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
But they both operate in a space where public
perception and reaction kind ofdictates the profit point at
this point with these podcasts.
So they have to, that's why Isay they have to conversate in a
way that creates, if notclickbait, at least a thumbnail
that people want to see.
Right that kind of thing, andthe further that goes, the

(20:13):
harder it is to rectify, unlessthey get enough views to make
enough money off of it.
Then everybody's happy.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Yeah, I was.
I was on his podcast at theSuper Bowl this year on Cam's
podcast On Cam.
Yeah, good, I mean great, everything was great.
He gave me a whole box ofcigars.
Man, these cigars were awesome.
I don't know.
I think he got them from Castromaybe or something.
I mean Cuba.
They were good cigars man.
I was like man bro Anytime youwant me to come back on here and

(20:44):
get another box of cigars, giveme another box.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
I only yeah, let me know yeah man, it's just, you
know.
It's like hot beef, it's rapbeef.
As long as they keep it on thecast, everything's fine.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
I was going to ask you about rap beef has it?
Because I grew, grew up in, youknow, when I was in high school
, the 80s.
You know rap is just likeanything.
Rap is different now than itwas in the 80s.
You know, my guys were Pumbo Dand LL and all that dude.

(21:21):
That's all I listened to.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
I mean it was a lot.
It was a lot fewer people backthen, so the stakes were higher,
I believe, because I mean, where do you see?

Speaker 2 (21:33):
where do you see rap going?
I mean, is it on?
Is it doing it what it'ssupposed to be doing, or is all
these mumble rap dudes kind ofmessing it up?

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Here's the thing I think rappers are in the best
position they've ever been interms of profiting off the art.
Right, when people talk aboutthe quality of music or the
level of execution, right now, artists are not going to make
music that their fans don't wantto hear.
Oh yeah, if they thought thatthe music they were making and

(22:07):
the style in which they rap orwrite or communicate through
song, if they thought peopledidn't want to hear that, they
would strive for somethingdifferent.
The problem is is that no oneno listener, no consumer is
asking more.
They're not telling them that.
Well, that's the thing.
It's almost like if you look atthe attention span today.

(22:28):
Right, if, let's say, everyrapper did like a street rapper,
tried to do something differentthat was deeply thoughtful.
I don't know if there's a fanbase out that wants that.
They only want certain thingsfrom certain people.
Right, it's like, if I want tohear something positive, I'll go
turn on J Cole or something.
Right, if I want?
to hear something gangster, I'llgo cut on this guy or whatever.

(22:51):
They have a lot more choicesavailable to them and because of
that people get to fine-tunewhat they want to listen to.
So it's almost like your wholelife is built around the
algorithm and playlists.
you know what I'm saying, and soit's like oh, if you like this,
then here's that, and whathappens is they only get exposed

(23:11):
to that.
They never really get exposedto the other stuff, so they
don't even have an entry pointinto a level of appreciation.
You put the generational gap inbetween that.
You put the generational gap inbetween that.
You put the generational gap inbetween that.
Then we're not supposed to likethe same things.
My mama didn't like my music.
Her mama didn't like her music.
Can you imagine people lookingback at like God, I'm trying to

(23:35):
think of who like Sam Cooke andAl Green and people like that
and somebody telling them thatain't music.
What is all of that RightGenerationally?

Speaker 2 (23:46):
You know, they were the forefathers of what y'all
doing.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Right, right, exactly so.
I try not to put myself in aplace of judgment, because the
reality is, dre, they're notmaking music for us, no more.
Anyway, that music is not forus, so we're not supposed to
like it, and our music ain't forthem, and they're not supposed
to like it.
It's usually if you're a youngman and your uncle or your big

(24:13):
brother or your daddy was a guythat you looked up to and you
looked at how he dressed and howhe cut his hair and how he
talked and the music he listenedto.
That's who you identify with asadulthood or manhood or cool or
whatever that is, and we justwe ain't cool to them.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
To them no more.
Yeah, that's just it.
I mean, why would?
Why would we be?

Speaker 3 (24:33):
I don't wear number polo shirts and and cargo shorts
.
Nobody, no, 22 year old kid, want to dress like that.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yeah, hey, sometimes you got to do that though.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
But you know what?
I'm comfortable with it, LikeI'm on.
I'm featured on Bryson Tiller'snew album right now.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
I don't know if you heard it yet, Joe.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Yeah, I'm on Bryson's new album right now, so I do
get appreciated by certainartists who are trying to strive
higher.
But sometimes they you knowthey really, they really climb
into the top of the tree for thefruit that's on the lowest
branch and it ends up a waste ofeffort and time and we'll be
right back.

(25:14):

Speaker 1 (26:04):
And now back to the show.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
What do you think about this whole Kendrick thing,
because I know that's lost insteam, but it was hot for a
while, as far as I think it.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Was that beef?
Was that beef or not?
That was legitimate.
That was legitimate.
Those were two people wholegitimately, I don't think have
gotten along for a while.
I think they both believe thatthey represent a necessary part
of the culture and theexperience, which I think is
valid.
I think the viewpoint and theideology that Kendrick lives by

(26:42):
is just as important as it isfor how Drake lives and operates
in, because if you look atmusic and you look at life like
when rap starts having too muchfun, somebody comes in and be
like hey, we tripping, we needto be paying attention to this,
and this and y'all need to focusup, and then we'd lock in on
that.
And then, after a while of that,it and this and y'all need to

(27:06):
focus up, and then we'd lock inon that.
And then after a while of that,it'd be like man, god damn,
like shit man, I just want to gosomewhere relaxed, kick it and
chill, have a beer and then raplives and stuff.
That's how the world like it's.
It's cyclical and if you livelong enough, you'll see certain
shit come back around.
So I don't have a problem withrappers beefing and having
differences or whatever, becausethey all represent somebody
Right and people expect like I'mfrom Houston, if somebody says
something about Houston or PortArthur or whatever, people would

(27:30):
expect certain people to standup and speak on that.
You know what I'm saying, for alot of people.
It's just like boxing.
It don't really.
If you lose a fight, I don'thave a problem with you losing a
fight.
If you lose a fight, I don'thave a problem with you losing a
fight.
I do have a problem with youeither not fighting back or
saying what you was going to do,and then, when opportunity
comes, you don't do any of whatyou said you do.

(27:53):
I have no problem with somebodythat gets in the ring and is
willing to fight.
Typically, when two people thatdon't get along actually fight,
they tend to come out of itwith respect for each other.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah, I don't think that.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
But that's again.
That's that one-on-one, two menin a room.
We're going to either talk itout or we can box it out or
whatever.
That's going to be right.
And when it's left, at thatsimplest state, two men and I
talk to this about my wife allthe time I say, if you see two
men arguing, they already know.
Both of them already know whocan whoop who, but they're just

(28:34):
in a place where neither one ofthem can afford to acknowledge
it.
So we kind of going to have tofight now, even though I know
you're going to whoop me, that'scool.
I still got to fight you though, just so you know.
You know what I'm saying.
And whenever those thingshappen, those two people,
there's a different level ofrespect, because the little guy
typically bows down.
The guy that knows he can'tfight bows down.
So a guy that you know you canbeat up still want to fight you.

(28:57):
That might be, especially if heget one too.
If he get one, that'scommendable.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Hey, guess what he might beat you up.
Then you never know.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
If he get one in with him, you and the one-on-one
with certain defenders, especially in your conference,
you might get them one game.
They might get you one game.
I like playing against him.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
That's a great point, because I like playing against
him.
And guess what If I can beathim?
That's a great point because Iknew that too, there's one thing
knowing it than going out thereand not knowing it.
I knew that, hey, I'm going towin some.
As long as I win one more thanyou, I'm okay.
I'm not going to win them all.
I didn't beat everybody all thetime.

(29:41):
That's just part of the gameand just like, yeah, you're
absolutely right, but you got tobe comfortable with that too.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
It's like a football game, right.
You guys compete on the field, and no matter how friendly your
competition is on the field, andeven if y'all respect each
other in the form of combat inthe middle of confrontation,
there's still fights in thestands, there's still fights in
the parking lot, so it's theresidual shit that's really bad.

(30:08):
Typically one-on-one it's notan issue right.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Just go to a Cowboys Eagles game, you'll see that.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
All day.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
All day, all day.
If you're a Cowboys fan andyou're an Eagles fan and they're
playing in Philly, something'sgoing down.
There's a lot going down.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
I took a Giants fan when we played the Patriots,
when the Texans played thePatriots, and they were more mad
at him.
Just for the happening audacityto wear a New York Giants hat.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Oh, in the Patriots stadium.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Yes, in Gillette Stadium.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
I don't blame him.
He shouldn't have that on there.
He's a New Yorker.
What are you going to do?
You know what?

Speaker 2 (31:01):
But guess what?
Tom Guess what he's close toNew York.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Yeah, yeah, not close enough in that room.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
They threw popcorn and shit at him.
All game you know why.
Because they knew they couldconcentrate on him, because they
were dog walking us on thefield.
This was the first varsityjacket game, oh, okay.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
I'll tell you this.
I went to the NFC Championshipthis past year.
I'm a Commanders fan and I wentto Philly.
I couldn't get out of therefast enough it was a tough game.
You know, they got a jail inthere.
My wife protected me.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
She was an tough game , you know.
They got a jail in there.
My wife protected me.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
She was an Eagles fan .

Speaker 2 (31:45):
You know they got a jail in that stadium, oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
There's a reason for that.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
I might ask for protective custody Dude.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
I went to a game Security.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Invited these people to a game in Buffalo and the
dude that I was with showed up.
We were playing the Broncos.
Showed up with a Broncos shirton yeah, with you Buffalo as
your guest, as my guest.
I was like this.

(32:21):
I was like dude I I was likedude, I ain't know what to do.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
I go, hey, you can't come up in there with me like
that Do you make him take it off?
You have to take it off, yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
We went to a Rockets Mavericks game.
Jason Terry invited us up tothe game and gave us floor seats
, like courtside foot on thewood, and every time the Rockets
would score, my wife's jumpingup Like yes, yeah.
And Max looking at me, likeTerry looking at me, like bro,
what is she doing?

(32:58):
Like what are y'all doing?
I was like man, you can't stopit, it is what it is, bro.
You shouldn't have invited her,you shouldn't have invited her.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Hey, let's talk.
You want to talk about the teamnow?

Speaker 1 (33:14):
I don't want to take too much of your time.
Here's what I wanted to know.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Dude, I'm sitting here I'm with one of my favorite
rappers, man I'm with one of myfavorite rappers man, I'm with
you.
And one of my favorite rappers, bum B, come on.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
I'm talking football with a Hall of Famer man.
I'm having a ball.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
I'm going to ask this question for you.
I know you're a big fantasy guyfantasy football.
I got a note from Andre Reid.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
Who's your top three receivers in the game?
Today that Bum's got a draft inhis upcoming fantasy football
league.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
I need this inside information.
Hold on, let me get my notesout.
Get your notes out.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
I like this, I like this Well, you know what, but
you figure, bun, you figure.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Justin, jefferson, jamar, they're going to be gone.
Right, you can't get all three.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
You can't, you can't, I mean, do you have a shot at
getting one of them as far asreceiver one yeah, they'll be
gone, right, right, okay.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
So, with that being said, what are your options?
Because they're trying to getthem two dudes first.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
I'm ace pick, I'm ace pick, I'm ace pick, so I'm
probably going to get.
I'm probably going to get.
I'm either going to get a topfive receiver or a top five
running back.
I got to make a pick.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
So either one.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Yeah, I would probably go receiver one because
I feel like receiver one after10 starts to drop precipitously,
whereas running backs.
I'll still have a decent choiceof running back in the third
round or so.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
I'll tell you one person that really I think is
going to have a good year is DKMetcalf.
I think DK is going to, I thinkRodgers is going.
He's going to get him the ball, because I don't think Geno
could really.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Geno couldn't match it right.
That's the thing.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Well, it's not that he couldn't match it.
I think the play calling was alittle bit suspect up there in
Seattle.
Okay, that's fair, but I like, even though Tomlin doesn't call,
the play calling was a littlebit suspect up there in Seattle.
Okay, that's fair, but I like, even though Tomlin doesn't call
the plays and I don't know whothe offensive coordinator is for
Pittsburgh, but they're justlike.

(35:35):
They got him and Pickens, youbetter get them, dudes, the ball
.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
They ain't had nobody get them the ball last year.
Well, who are the receiversthey had last?

Speaker 3 (35:41):
year.
They had Wilson.
That was it.
They had Wilson, that was it.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
So they had Pickens, right, wasn't Pickens?

Speaker 1 (35:47):
hurt.
Last year no Pickens was there, and now he's gone.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Pickens is in Dallas.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Dallas now.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
So it's him, and it's DK Metcalf.
Who's the other guy?
The?

Speaker 1 (35:59):
other guy is Austin.
Last name Austin.
That's his first name.
He's good.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Yeah, he is good.
He's a sleepy good, yeah, butCeeDee Lamb, I mean, can't go
wrong with him, no, and Pickensis a second I just don't know if
my pride will let me draftCeeDee Lamb.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
No, you can't pick CeeDee Lamb.
My pride will let me draft CDLamb.
No, you can't pick CD Lamb.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
And then again there's not enough football to
go around for both of those guys.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Yeah, I got a sneaky one for you.
I want your opinion on this guy.
This might be a tough one, though he's one of those guys
who, like James Cook, is in alittle bit of a contract
negotiation.
What?

Speaker 5 (36:42):
happens with Terry.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
McLaurin Ooh, mm Scary Terry Ooh, is he
overpricing himself?
No, he's deserving of that.
I mean because he's good, right?

Speaker 2 (36:56):
No, no, he's really good, terry McLaurin is good and
he got a quarterback that getshim that shit.
He gets him the ball.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
But he's placing his price based on his production
period Because Jaden just gotthere you know what I'm saying
and Terry's been the best playeron that command, been the best
offensive player on that team, until Jaden got there.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah, I uh.
So he's not signed yet, right, tom?

Speaker 1 (37:26):
No, it's very stressful here in the Washington
DC area, Brian.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Thomas Jr.
All respect.
It's scary man.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Any movement at all in the last couple days.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
No, and I check it every minute.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Who's the second guy?
Never saw him.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Well, the second guy is Debo.
Remember they picked up DeboSamuels there?

Speaker 4 (37:52):
Oh, that's right.
I got Debo Samuels, that'sright.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
I forgot about that he becomes great with Terry, but
without Terry maybe he's thenumber one, but it's not a great
number one.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Debo Samuels is not a wide receiver one.
Never that yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Not at this, maybe when he was.
He's a hybrid.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
When he was with the 49ers.
He kind of was.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
For a little bit yeah .

Speaker 2 (38:18):
That's a good one, tom.
I don't know what McLaren islike.
I don't.
I don't know.
Has his agent said anything, oranybody has said anything about
what he's looking for?
Is he?

Speaker 1 (38:30):
looking for?
I'll tell you who messed him up.
He's looking for top six.
He's looking for DK money.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
Who he's looking for top five, top six, receiver
money Comparable.
He knows he's not top three, but he believes he's top five,
top six for sure.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
And I think DK Metcalf threw everything off
this year because I personallythink the Steelers might have
overpaid him.
And now he's set a whole othermarket, which you said earlier
in this podcast that the marketsets the market.
So you gotta put your worth outthere now.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
So that's gonna be interesting.
You're right, because I thinkhe's going to hold his ground,
Because he's not going to getJamar or get.
Maybe he'll get T Higgins money.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
Again, like I said, top five, top six, right yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
I think it's T Higgins top six.
No, no, you're playing next toJamar Chase.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
No no you're getting a pretty big payday.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
Dude.
That's the first time I've everseen two receivers on the same
squad get that kind of dough.
Yeah, I was born about 10 yearstoo early.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
I had Burrow and I had Higgins last year and
outside of injury he was very, very productive.
He's a really, really goodplayer.
I just don't know.
And then the commanders are notan organization that throws
money at players anywhere.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Ain't enough balls to go around.
I don't care who you got.
Ain't enough balls to go around.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
Ain't enough balls to go around with you To justify
the money, justify that salary.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
I totally forgot about that guy.
Oh yeah, these other guys.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
They're going to get all the touches that their price
demands.
For sure CD's going to get his, jefferson's going to get his,
jamar's going to get his.
He's going to split with T.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Jamar's going to get his.
He's still going to get hisball Is Pickens going to act a
fool, though Probably so.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
Yeah, he is.
He's highly regarded as a YN inthis league.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
He's capable.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
Yeah, he's been a YN since he came to the NFL right
now.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
He's really capable of doing that.
But see, Mike Tomlin did such agood job with him.
Tomlin is good.
He did, tomlin kind of kept himunder.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
I think we lost him again.
We lost you at volume.
Check it out.
It says that his audience isthere you go.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
There you go, is it?

Speaker 2 (41:17):
McCarthy, who's the head coach?

Speaker 3 (41:21):
No, mccarthy's not the coach anymore.
Is he?
Who is he?

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Who is it?

Speaker 3 (41:26):
He's got.
It's a something burger, gotsomething like that.
Yeah, yeah, he's got a very, very long, weird name they went
from bad to worse from a coach'saspect, in my opinion, it's
Brian.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Wait a minute.
The head coach now is BrianSchottenheimer right.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Yes, there it is, there it is.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
I knew it was Schottenheimer.

Speaker 1 (41:45):
That's the guy who's coming from right, Because
that's the son.
Didn't his dad His dad?

Speaker 4 (41:49):
was a coach.
Marty Schottenheimer.
Marty Schottenheimer, he was a.
What was he an?

Speaker 2 (41:54):
offensive coordinator right, yes, Before, yeah.
So I just want you guys to knowsometimes offensive
coordinators do not make goodhead coaches.

Speaker 4 (42:06):
North Turner.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
There's too much going on, but obviously Jerry
knows something that we don'tknow.
I think Brian Schottenheimerwould do a better job than
McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
You think he's better for the culture of the locker
room?
Yeah, or is it just?
Anybody would be better rightnow, frankly.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
I think Brian Schottenheimer will be better.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
Because McCarthy lost him, he lost those guys.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
He lost them years ago.
And then guess who's trying toclean that up?
The owner?

Speaker 3 (42:48):
No, of course, Jerry Jones.
Jerry, the mess he made.

Speaker 5 (42:52):
No.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
I just don't see both of those guys getting six
targets a game.
Him and Pickens CD ain't goingto like that and Pickens ain't
going to like that and Pickensain't going to like that.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Watch, I give that about 4 or 5 games, y'all and
then it just blows up thenyou're just going to see
highlights and then blowing upon the sideline and some
interesting post game comments.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
Oh, pickens you don't know what do you really Pickens
?

Speaker 4 (43:27):
You don't know Pickens.
What do you really mean?

Speaker 2 (43:29):
by that you don't know what's coming out of his
mouth.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
He could very well be AD on the road.
He could play now.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
He's a hell of a receiver.
Shoot him.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
He's a hell of a receiver.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
He definitely got AB tendencies.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
And on the field he's just as good as the receiver.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
Oh, and on the field he's just as good as the
receiver.
Oh yeah, he's amazing.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
He's a good kid, but he's also a liability.
I don't know how that's goingto work.

Speaker 4 (43:53):
Andre, how do you feel about Diggs leaving?

Speaker 2 (43:59):
That was inevitable, man, he burned a lot of bridges
out there Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
When he left.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
I had so many people talking to me about and I met
the dude one time.
I briefly met him.
I briefly met him at a game itwas the opening game last year,
two years ago, two years agoprobably, yeah and he was out
there on the field warming upand I was with Thurman and Jim
and Bruce.

(44:31):
And I go, I'm going to go up tosay something to Stephon,
because I never really met him,and I went up.
I was going to go up and shakehis hand and say, hey, man, he
kind of gave me a bad vibe, bro, like get away from me.
You know that kind of vibe.
I was like I'm not coming up toyou again.

(44:52):
You should be coming up to me.
Yeah, that's kind of strange.
Until your name is up on thatwall up there, that's all I'm
saying.
I kind of lost a little respectfor him.
Great player, lost a littlerespect.
See, I'm the kind of guy if Isee him again.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
I'll go up to him again because that's the kind of
guy I am.
I'm like that, I like that, Ilike that.
Suddenly, I know what you meanwhen you say that I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
I need people to.
I need you to tell me you don'tlike me, because otherwise I'm
going to keep coming in yourface.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
So I'm going to need you to tell me you don't like me
yeah, and sooner or lateryou're going to have to tell me
something You're going to haveto tell me.
But, guys, I have the billsgoing 13 and 4.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
13 and 4 this year.
Okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
Well, y'all got a strong schedule.
You still think that you got astrong schedule, but you know
what?

Speaker 2 (45:50):
For every strong schedule there's a lull, like
right in the middle of theseason, where there's a lot of
trap games and they play the NFC.
South this year.
Nothing against Atlanta,Carolina, New Orleans they got
to go.
They got New Orleans.
They got to go, they got NewOrleans.

(46:10):
And who's the other team?
Atlanta?

Speaker 3 (46:13):
New Orleans, carolina , is it?

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Tampa.
Is it Tampa?
They got New Orleans and.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
Tampa at home.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
And they got Carolina Carolina Atlanta away.
New Orleans and Atlanta at homeand they're right in the middle
of the season, like prettyclose to like around
Thanksgiving, something likethat.
So there's some trap games.
Atlanta is going to be betterthis year.

(46:40):
I think Carolina is going to bea little better.
I think Carolina's going to bebetter, a little better.
You just don't know with theSaints, because who's the
quarterback.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
That's janky, that's very janky.

Speaker 4 (46:58):
Who's the quarterback ?
That's janky Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
Because the other guy retired right.
Kind of unexpectedly, he's thestarting quarterback for the
Saints.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
Right now, that's your starter.

Speaker 4 (47:08):
Right now they're predicting Spencer Rattler to
start, because Carr retired kindof unexpectedly.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Yeah, derek Carr, retired Carr, retired.
Winston is out of there.

Speaker 4 (47:17):
Yeah, yeah, Jameis is going.
Jameis is in New York.
Now they're saying it lookslike Spencer Rattler.
So yeah, I don't think NewOrleans is going to be doing too
much.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
Every third game, taysom Hill, will start.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Taysom Hill wow.

Speaker 2 (47:34):
I just see in that division.
I see Atlanta winning thatdivision, not Tampa.
They're going to be fightingwith Tampa.
I think Atlanta with Tampa.
I think I just think Atlantawith B John Robinson.
I just think Atlanta has abetter shot at winning that
division Atlanta's got to figureout if the Pinks is going to

(47:59):
start.

Speaker 3 (48:00):
I feel like the Bucks come back with a defined team.
They know who their runningback is they know who their
receivers are.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
They have a very clearly defined team.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Baker had a their running back is.
They know where their receiversare.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
You can't go wrong with Baker.
They have a very clearlydefined team.
Baker had a great year lastyear.
I like Baker, kenny Duper, takethat.

Speaker 3 (48:12):
He really did.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
Because he was supposed to be left for dead,
like two years ago.

Speaker 4 (48:16):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
And he was supposed to be like yeah, so that's going
to be interesting to see, andBryce Young will be a little
better.
Did they get anybody around?

Speaker 4 (48:32):
here Did they get anybody to catch the ball.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
That doesn't say much , it doesn't take much.
It doesn't take much for no Idon't think so it doesn't take
much.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
Who are the receivers ?
I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
I think Thielen's still there, thielen, but I
Thielen's still there.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
But I don't think anybody knew.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
Thielen's about 50 years old, isn't he, thielen's?

Speaker 3 (48:57):
been around for a minute now.
He gets by on size, though.
He wins a lot of matchups andcoverage.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
He's crafty man.

Speaker 4 (49:07):
He's crafty.

Speaker 1 (49:09):
I got a lot in between.
Picture me saying that just nowand a guy like andre going
there's that guy drinking chipsand beer, sitting on his couch
making fun of him.
He's no way he could play inthe league talking about talking
about oh my god oh man yeah, Isee the bills going yes, sir,

(49:30):

Speaker 3 (50:01):
Look, Bills was the first starter jacket I ever had
in rap.
In rap, that means a lot.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
You typically end up in a black starter first,
they're trying to get themstarter jackets.
Now, man, there's a companythat has those starter jackets.
They're going to kick it backup.

Speaker 3 (50:19):
Carl owns it now right?
I think so.

Speaker 4 (50:24):

Speaker 3 (50:27):

Speaker 2 (51:35):

One dude took his kid.
Kid was probably five years old, he was on top of the bus,
Jumped off the bus on a tablewith his kid and then drank a
beer out of a bowling ball.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
Some people don't deserve kids or bowling balls.
