This is the story of one ossie man, a secret
code he claims to be found buried in the Bible,
and forty nine million dollars of investors' money that's gone missing.

different words to describe Alan Metcalf.

He was a genius, He was a scammer and a
lunatic in a way, and he was basically version point
five of Trump.

Even those who knew Allan still can't say for sure
whether he was a con man or a visionary. But
one thing is certain. Alan Metcalf was an incredible salesman.

He struck me as being the kind of guy could
sell ice to the Eskimos. But you just wondered what
was the eye made off.

Those who believed in Alan saw him as kind of
a messiah who could lead them to a promised land
free from ever having to worry about money.

He always said if it got in the wrong hand,
it could destroy the world. When Alan died in twenty seventeen,
those promises turned out to be an illusion, with hundreds
of investors losing their life savings. Today they're still trying
to find out what happened to their money, all forty
nine million dollars of it. So I've joined their search,
