your host for the next three hours, Mandy Connell, and
I'm joined, of course, by my right hand man. He's
he can barely run the show right now because his
fingers are so exhausted from the exhaustive social media coverage
that we had over the NFL Draft. He is Anthony Rodriguez.
We call him a Rod. I'm surprised you can even

(00:50):
push that button. A Rod. You and hear both okay
for my gen X listeners. He has he has joystick thumb.
Back when we were kids, a Rod before they had
all the joyce with all the different buttons and whatnot.
You have the joystick and you have the shoot button.
You had one button and the joystick, so your shoot
button thumb would just lock up.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
I have terrible the carpal tunnel syndrome. Can down the road.
I'm just gonna keep working and hopefully I keep pushing
it back far enough and deal with it with my sixties.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
I will tell you that I have in the last
couple of years, I have been struggling with a little
bit of carpal tunnel in both of my hands.

Speaker 6 (01:26):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
It affects me though, Like I can type and do stuff.
And if I type, you know, cause I type a
lot for the show. When I type, I'm okay. But man,
when I'm doing push ups or I have my you know,
all my weight on my hands, it is like shoots
a dagger through the pad of my thumbs. It's terrible,
just terrible. Now, I know what you're saying, don't do

(01:48):
push ups. I tried that and my personal trainer was like, no,
you're doing push ups. We got a lot of stuff
on the blog today. We got a lot of stuff
to cover, a lot of conversations to get into. And
let's do that. Jumping right into the blog, go to

it's Monday.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
We outside Broncos HQ that couldn't get in. I know
they were just trying to play with their instrument. They
were shunned, shunned them. Let's start at Broncos HQ for
just a moment, because, uh, we've got a couple of
interviews coming up at one o'clock. We're going to talk
to Natalie Tennant and Todd Watkins. If you remember last

(04:33):
week on the show, I believe it was Friday, might
have been Thursday.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I asked you guys if you had seen or heard
of this Colorado Doge email that is going around soliciting money.
And I said Friday, I was like, look, you know,
they keep saying they're a nonprofit, but when you click
through to their donation site, there's no indication that you can,
you know, exempt those donations from your taxes. There's no

(04:57):
tax id number, there's no status, there's know nothing, and there's,
by the way, no information about what that money's going
to be used for. And I said on Friday, kind
of looks like a grift, like save your money, don't
give these people money yet, And come to find out
I am not completely wrong. So Natalie Tennant and Todd
Watkins are going to join me at one o'clock to

(05:18):
talk about the latest grift by a group of Republicans
who are so angry and bitter that they are out
of power that they are trying to, I don't know,
make people think they're doing something so they can raise
money to do something else. I don't know. We'll find out.
That's coming up at one o'clock. At two thirty, I'm
very excited to have Agent Stroup coming on the show.

(05:41):
He is the architect of the bust that happened last
night in Colorado Springs that we're talking about in our
news and we're going to talk to him at two thirty.
He is with the DEEA. We'll find out how all
this investigation started, what was going on, and how the
arrest of over one hundred people last night eventually went down.
So that is coming up at two thirty. In the meantime, though,

(06:03):
let's talk about the draft. The NFL Draft. Now, the
Broncos uh went heavier on defense. No, I guess it's even.
They got three of each, right, they got a running back,
a wide receiver, a punter, and a tight end. No,
that's offense. And then they have two edge rushers and

(06:24):
a cornerback on defense. And it's funny to me. A
Rod made a very cool graphic with all the guys
on it where you can see who they drafted and
then the comments under it. It's like, what great do
you give the Broncos draft? Look a D minus. Here's
the thing, you guys, And this is what I think
of every single time I see these draft classes. Right,

(06:44):
the Broncos know what they are looking for. We don't
necessarily know. We're not privy to everything that the Broncos
organization thinks they need or recognize where there could be
a future issue that they're trying to address now. So
it always cracks me up when people sort of grade
the draft class when you may have players that you

(07:07):
loved that didn't get drafted. But ultimately the team knows
what the needs are and the team has way better
access to these players than we have.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I will quote our verial in Benjamin Albright who said,
there aren't steels and reaches, not a thing. You get
your guys and they work out or they don't. We
don't know anything right These are prospects. It's not as
far as baseball, where like we're talking, they aren't in
the majors for three, four or five years. We'll know
within a year or two, but we don't know right now.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
So the big story, which is a shame for Cam Edwards,
because the biggest story out of the draft was the
slide of Schador Sanders from Mel Kiper projected number one pick.
Well it was number one quarterback, I know, I know,
but it didn't matter because Mel's been in love with
Shador for a long time.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Well he's been in love with a lot of bad
quarterbacks and it worked out.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
Yeah, And so slid to the fifth round and picked
up by the Cleveland Browns. They were one of the
teams that I understand they saw him multiple times, right,
They did multiple visits with him, so there was some
interest there for Cleveland. But what a spectacular fall for Grace.
And I have talked to so many people over the

(08:16):
weekend who have a different take on this.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
Right.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
One of the most interesting things that I heard that
I think made a lot of sense was that in
college now, the way college is structured, with the portal
being available, with name and likeness, money being available to
these college players, college players are completely and absolutely one
hundred percent in control of their college experience. For the

(08:40):
first time ever. They can make a crap ton of
money if they're really good. If they don't like where
they're playing, and they don't like the coach or the
coach leaves, they can go somewhere else. So for the
first time in college, the players are in control. And
I saw a guy and I honestly don't know who
the guy was, and I could not find after I
saw this, but his thing. The NFL is sending an

(09:03):
incredibly strong message to college players that whatever you are
in college, whatever shots you're calling in college, that does
not translate to the NFL. The NFL is letting you
know you come in until there's going to have to
be a culture change or a system change, it's not
going to fly.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
I think it's more specific to Shador and where the
NFL is right now. Where the NFL is is when
you target a quarterback to be your future franchise guy,
you deal with some of the other extra stuff, whether
it be the ego, the way you carry yourself. When
you put first round grade tape on in college, A

(09:46):
lot of people, unfortunately good chunk of teams in the
NFL had a second or third round grade on Shador Sanders.
The problem is is when you get into those second,
third rounds and if he falls further than that and
the some teams have taken him off the board, then
for a guy that maybe isn't going to be your starter,

(10:06):
it's a lot less likely in the NFL for them
to deal with those extra things when it's not your
starting quarterback. For example, right here in Denver, Sean Payton
talked glowingly about Shador. He knows coach Prime and Shandor
very well. They would never take him though, because as
a backup quarterback, as talented as shador is and as
great as he would be as the number two quarterback

(10:27):
here in Denver. Total example never woul happen. I'm saying
an example, but he would require those press conferences. You
would hear it from coach Prime. You would always want
to know how going to do from coach Prime. You
can't do that with backup quarterbacks. And when we're talking second,
third round grades and further down the board, not as
far as fifth round, because that's unfair. He's got the
talent to be at least a second or third, but

(10:47):
for a guy that may not be the starter, teams go,
I don't want that to be in my second quarterback position.
I will handle those things just like you. And this
is a kind of a poor comparison, but it's reality
when it comes to talent in the NFL. If there's
off the field issues, if they're doing stuff that you
don't like, if they're getting into legal issues, those are things.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
That you deal with.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
If they are superstars, if they are starters, if they
are your guy. It's it's hypocrisy, and it's best. We
all know it. We admit that it happens. But you
deal with those things as an NFL franchise when it's
going to be the guy should or started following up
to where teams didn't recognize he was going to be
their starter, and makes it the more he fell, the
more likely he would continue to fall, exactly, because that's

(11:29):
just the reality of this issuation.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
I do think that they I do think that an
example has been made of Sheldwharre Sanders. He blew off
the combine. He didn't take it seriously. He walked in
and I said this to my husband this weekend because
he said, you know, hasn't Deon Sanders always been a blowhard?
I'm like, okay, yes he has been. But I saw
a fascinating in it with Deon Sanders, who talked about
his persona in college, and his persona in college was

(11:54):
just like his persona now, except he was a college player.
He said, I created that image so I could put
that out there and people would leave me alone, like
go after my image. But with Shador, it was like
he got elevated to the same status image wise that
Dion Sanders is at and love him or hate him.

(12:15):
Deon Sanders was a two professional sport athlete and good
at both of them, right Deon Sanders has earned the swagger,
he has earned the the the what's the word I'm
looking for? The attitude. And his son, though, played great
in college in a system that his father designed specifically

(12:37):
for his talents, which I also think is a huge
part of the problem for Shdor Sanders. He's only played
college ball for his dad, So how is he going
to go into a system that's not necessarily created just
for him. But the reason I wanted to bring him
up today specifically is that I have a lot of
interest in what happens next with Shador Sanders, because I

(13:00):
gotta tell you this, if this was me and I,
this sort of thing can apply in a lot of
different situations, and I'm not gonna lie. It kind of
reminded me in my talk radio career. When I first
started in talk radio twenty five years ago, there were
no female hosts at all. And if you go look
at premieres lineup of men they syndicate, it's all dudes.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
There's not a.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Single single alone woman syndicated by premier networks. They're the
ones who syndicate Bucking Sexton and Sean Hannity and Glenn
Beck and all of those guys, it's all dudes. So
throughout my career there have been situations where I went
after a job and in one situation, I negotiated a
salary for that job and then was told that corporate

(13:45):
got involved and women can't succeed in talk radio. Now,
at that point, I could have just kind of folded,
you know, I could have just given up, taken on
a partner trying to get something going. But instead I
just made it to her nation. I'm going to work
harder and be undeniably good, right, I'm going to be
so prepared and so good at everything they asked me

(14:07):
to do that they're going to have to give me
a job. And if Shadur Sanders right now today, like today,
he should already be studying the film of the Cleveland
Browns because they have the same offensive coordinator. Right going
into the next year, he should be studying every single
play of the Cleveland Browns. When he walks in for
the first day of camp, he should know every play
they have done ever before, so all he has to

(14:30):
do is put a name on it.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
I is going to sound unfair because I think you
celebrate being drafted. But of course he had a massive
party that is now across all the news outlets. He
had a big, correct, giant, outlandish, in my opinion, big
old thing that now has gotten way too much attention.
And it's just like, man read the room a little.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
But all he can do from this moment on is
be the guy who drops every everything else, drops his
nose to the grindstone, and comes into camp ready to
be the starting quarterball.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
Well, you know, he's got like four other guys to
beat out. You know, the Browns quarterback. I know Joe Flacco,
I know Kenny Pickett.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Okay, okay, Joe Flacco's what is he forty? And I'm
not even kidding.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
He might be the guy and he has the lowest
odds to start. They drafted Dylan Gabriel from Oregon two
rounds ahead of him and still took Joe Flacco is forty.
He has a chance to start. But the Browns are
such a mess. Clearly did you did you see the video?
Oh the head coach agm after the pick room.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
They're all like, give golf clap more on.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
Your face that you were forced to take chador by
the ownership. But here's the dude, None of that should
matter to Shador. All he needs to do is literally.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Become a sponge a machine learn everything about the Cleveland
I'm telling you, he walks in the first day prepared,
then he's got a shock.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
People are comparing him to a couple of names I've
heard in terms of NFL comps for him. One of
them is very notable because the head coach he has,
Andy Dalton and Kirk Cousins. The head coach of the
Browns knows Kirk Cousins very well and knows that system,
knows that style should do or will have a chance
to be the guy and succeed. I don't know if
Deshaun Watson plays a down of football this year with

(16:21):
more injuries, but he's got the rest of the room
to beat what should door can do it. He can
be that beast quarter Dick.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
I'm saying like, if I'm him, if I'm Deone Sanders,
I'm telling him, Okay, you know what, put away your
little party favors and let's start looking at film. You
need to be doing nothing but watching Cleveland Brown's offensive
film from here until the day you walk into camp.
So when you walk in and the coach says we're
going to do this, this, and this. You already understand
the play. You may not know what it's called, but
you understand the play. I mean he's gonna have He

(16:49):
has way more to prove than any other ricky in
this class.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
The other thing too, and this is a contributing factor
on the field why he fell a bit more. The
NFL is moving towards those quarterbacks that can do both,
that can be mobile, that can that can navigate the
pocket but can also escape. He is a pure pocket passer.
That is an issue in today's NFL. I think it's
part of the reason why he fell. But I think
Kevin Stefanski will get the best out of him in Cleveland.
It's a great offensive mind for him to be paired with.
But like you said, he has to go all in

(17:16):
because unfortunately for Chador, I believe he's got a ceiling,
and I think to reach that ceiling to be as
best he can if he could, if he could have
Kirk Cousin's career, that's fantastic. That's still a ceiling.

Speaker 7 (17:26):
Though.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
He has to go all out to get to that point,
and he's got a lot of guys to beat out
to get there first.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
And he's got to display a seriousness that has been
lacking up to this point. Blowing off the Combine not
a great idea. I bet you every single player would
be at the Combine next year.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Well, and now stories of meetings, yeah that.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
The stories of the meetings are coming out now and
they are not sattering.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
He went in the fifth. It sounds like he blew
his chance to go third overall with the New York
Giants because they they traded up, did not like twenty
one took somebody else. They did not like they took
Jackson Dark. That did not go well. He could have
been there. That is a team looking for that franchise QB.
They had everything, every reason to take him at free Yep,
it did not go well apparently.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
I want to ask the listeners because I kind of
shared my story of when I was, you know, facing
a situation that was really disheartening and upsetting. I decided
to double down and work every single day to be
better than everybody else. Now am I better than everybody else?

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Know?

Speaker 4 (18:27):
But I guarantee you I'm trying trying every day. How
have you dealt with a setback in your life that
felt huge? You know, like some setbacks are minor setbacks.
Some setbacks feel like massive slap in the face. How
am I going to get up and go back to
work the next day? Kind of setbacks? How do you,

(18:49):
in your daily lives get over this stuff? How do
you push forward? Because I've got some comments like Bill
Bill says, Mandy does anything in Sanders' profile suggests he's
going to work as hard as as you suggest.

Speaker 8 (19:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
I've never been his teammate. I've heard good things about
his work ethic, you know. I have heard good things
from people that are involved in the CU program about
his work ethics. Well, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
Sean Payton said to the rest of the league, beware
because he said that he's going to be a guy
in the stay. I'll tell you one thing. There's one
thing as a chip on your shoulder, this big of
a fall is I mean, not just humbling. It's embarrassing,
and that's embarrassing for him not to mention you partner
with a stupid, embarrassing, disgusting print. Call well, everything about it.

(19:35):
We'll talk about that when we get back see hopefully
hopefully does it.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Yeah, we will. I want to know how you guys
have overcome maybe we'll make a little note and we'll
send it to Schadur and say shandor you got this.
You can do this, but it's going to require a
lot of effort on your part. So how do you
overcome a massive setback in your life? Text me at
five six six'. Nine, oh we'll talk about that. Next
you guys are the best audience. EVER i ask you
how you overcome difficulties and you delivered on the text. Line, Hey,

(20:02):
mandy this reminds me of kids right out of college
that expect the same salary and lifestyle of their parents
without putting in the time and. Effort, boy that has
become a sore subject for. Me and here's the. Thing
i'm not one of those people that think that every
young person should have to pay the same level of
dues THAT i. Paid BUT i do think that for

(20:23):
people to come out of college and immediately believe that
whatever industry that they go into should immediately listen to
all of their, ideas even though they have no idea
what they're talking, about is super frustrating because the vast
majority of the, time though the idea itself may not
be a bad, idea they don't know everything else that

(20:44):
goes into the back story of whatever they're. Doing, Hi,
mandy my crystal ball shows Coach prime will not be
A cu in three years And shador may never start
a regular season in THE. NFL i don't know about,
that you. GUYS i do think he has. Talent we shall, See.
Mandy i'm only a fan in of, college and Besides Travis,

(21:06):
HUNTER i couldn't guess why any player is. Taken, however
after Watching sanders play the last few years and playing
Against nicks And pennix who were drafted last, Year nick
And peenix looked much better Than. Sanders we'll. See we shall. See, So,
mandy you're saying the only thing the kids need to

(21:26):
do is unlearn everything as father taught him his entire.
LIFE i don't. KNOW i don't know What dean tottam
his entire. Life rumor is it's Racist dway didn't get
Drafted sooner yelled. THAT i first of, all has anyone
actually said? That did anyone say? That BECAUSE i keep
seeing all these people, going oh, yeah people are saying it's.
RACIST i have yet to find the person that said
it's racist That schnor wasn't. Picked there are so many

(21:49):
black athletes in the. Draft that's just. Dumb it's just
the FIRST i second overall draft, war the second overall
pick of the. Draft you, know it's like couple. GUYS i,
mean BUT i haven't actually seen anybody say.

Speaker 5 (22:04):
That, seriously there's no great conspiracy. Theory.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
NO i keep seeing people react to, that But i'm,
LIKE i haven't seen the person that said this is.
Racist it's just that's just. Insane, Mandy you're absolutely right Regarding.
Sanders the sure. Thing the sad thing is he won't
do that because it's been a. Privilege he's been a privileged,
life and he won't do. That it's you know, what
we'll find out he has an. Opportunity this person, SAID
i double down and believe THAT i can be better than.

(22:30):
Me and that's really you just have to be better
than you every single. Day manny uh took took banger
for two. Days what does that? Mean took? Banger then
back to the. Grindstone life is one big kick in
the nuts after. Another and that is, true sad but.
True is there a tweet From dion out? There? Aron

(22:51):
what did he? Tweet because this Says. Mandy the tweet
From dion isn't helping. Either see if there's a. TWEET
i do want to talk about the prank call that was,
Done AND i tweeted about this this weekend because you
can you can be you can be happy or maybe
and gaged in a little shouting frauda Because Schendar sanders.

(23:15):
Slid but you, know humbling is different than. Humiliation and
when somebody called and pretended to be THE gm of
The saints and then said, no you're gonna have to wait,
longer it was just. Cruel it was, cruel a cruel
thing to. Do, now WHAT i didn't know was apparently
this happened to somebody last year, too so this is

(23:37):
now a.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
Thing, yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
WELL i didn't know that it happened to him. Too
UP i was like considering that the chor was already
on the you, know. Slide it was extremely. Cruel it
was cruel thing to. Do now we find out that
it was the defensive coordinator of The Atlanta falcon's, son
twenty three year old idiot Who god has Got chenor's

(24:00):
number off of an iPad that his dad had and
waited and not only did he prank call, him he
filmed himself prank calling him and then put it on
the internet as young people. Do and now he's been
forced to grovel. Apologize he had to call shudor grovel
and apologize. There but, man what a, dumb, dumb dumb

(24:21):
thing to. Do dumb thing to.

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Do two posts From Coach prime by the, Way, okay first,
one everybody's worried about what happened yesterday and few other
possibilities of what will happen, tomorrow when we should be
focused on. Now what we do with our now is
what matters the. Most let's make the most of our
now Hashtag dad slash Coach. Prime and they had a second.
One this was this. Morning this too shall. Pass there's

(24:46):
two hundred and twenty one of y'all that need to.
Know the storm you're phasing and getting the best of
you right now shall. Pass hold on to the lesson
and where your level of faith is in the midst
of the. Storm god is a Progressive, god so progress
and don't oh so progress and don't stress hashtag Coach.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Prime i'm going to say something that's going to be,
insensitive BUT i am bothered by the conflict THAT i
feel exists from the flashy arrogance coming From Schdor sanders
and then the reliance on talking About. God don't get me,

(25:24):
WRONG i hope his relationship With god is as strong
as he shows on social, media but there does. Not
it feels like there's some cognitive dissonance there between the
look at, me look at, me look at, me look at,
me look at me style Of Schedhor sanders and then
humble Before. God there's something there that bothers me AND
i can't quite put my finger on.

Speaker 5 (25:44):
It, well unrelated to you know what other people are looking.
At when it comes To Coach prime ON x this
time it was known As. Twitter march, thirteenth twenty. Eighteen
CAN i ask you real, quick where did should or
get drafted? To that would be the fifth round of The? Browns,
Okay march or excuse? Me march, thirteenth twenty. Eighteen Coach
prime On. TWITTER i love what The browns have done this.

(26:05):
Offseason but If i'm a YOUNG, qb ain't no Way
i'm going To. CLEVELAND i would pull An Eli manning if. Possible,
yike that's been dug. Up that is not a flattering.
LOOK i, mean it's not, wrong it's not wrong that hashtag.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Truth nobody's gonna be, like Please, cleveland please draft. Me,
okay let me read some more of, This. MANDY i
overcame a narcissistic employer by making look repeatedly. Foolish oh dang,
it hang, on you, guys let me go back and
turn that off and give me that and then we're
gonna hit that SO i can get to the bottom. Ones,
OKAY i overcame a narcissistic boss by making him repeatedly

(26:45):
look foolish with his condescending. Personality WHAT i and all
the other employees should have done was left him high
and dry to deal with his lack of, decency, courtesy and.
Respect except you've got a job to, do, RIGHT i,
mean you have a job to. Do Why yoghi sends.
THIS i turned to my faith to over come those
challenges and. Setbacks When i'm at my, Lowest i'm forced
to remember THAT i can't do it, alone SO i

(27:05):
lean into my faith In. Jesus thanks To hallow and
The ascension, APPS i can now have access to The,
Bible rosary and guided prayer WHEREVER i am, hiking, gardening,
driving life. CHANGING i, Agree, mandy there's such a huge
difference between confidence and. Arrogance arrogance is so off, putting
AND i think that plays a big role in what possibly.

(27:27):
Happened also having the possibility of his dad criticizing the
team for his lack of success and getting too. Involved
AND i think that, point that second point is, big really,
big Because Dion sanders is.

Speaker 6 (27:44):
The the what is.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
What?

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Is oh my, gosh, king what is The? Serena And
Venus williams dad's Name, Richard, Yes Richard williams colossal pain
in that you know, what Colossal and he cost his
daughters some endorsements and things of the nature because nobody
want to deal with him until they were able to
kind of get out from under him and his. Thumb

(28:09):
But Deon sanders is like a million times worse because
everybody is going to put a microphone in front Of
Deon sanders's face and ask them how he thought about
how The browns played that. WEEK u you deal with
hard stepbacks by not dwelling on, them says this. Texter
take a day at most and then start trying to
come up with your plan immediately on how to bounce,

(28:30):
back because the longer you wait to come up with
that plan the harder it's going to get. Started shoudor
needs to take this embarrassing situation and use it as.
Motivation taking less, talking less with his, mouth and more
through his actions will go a long way to swade.
People that From, jove you know, what deeds not. Words
that that is a life motto in our. Family it

(28:52):
should be a life motto for. Everyone deeds not. Words
flap in your gums means. Nothing, Okay, mandy here's my
story about always having to prove people. Wrong i'm a
visually impaired person who was attending New, university which WAS
i was majoring in exercise. Science one DAY i got
a note to meet with the dean of the department

(29:14):
and he flat out told me because of my visual,
IMPAIRMENT i would need a different. Major, Nope i'm going
to continue and achieve my, degree which meant for me
THAT i had to work harder than any other. Student
ONCE i got into the real world as a personal,
TRAINER i also had to keep proving people wrong that
a visually impaired person can do this, job and was very.

(29:34):
Successful i've transitioned into another job in the health and wellness,
industry WHERE i continue to prove to PEOPLE i am
excellent at WHAT i. DO i consider myself successful and
enjoy proving those who believe that people with a disability
can't be successful at their. Career go, Avalanche there you, Go.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
There you.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Go how DID i overcome the nasty, divorce reconstructive, surgery
learn to walk, Again overcome the corporate? Debt work fourteen hour,
days overcome the corporate tax, debt sold my company at a,
Loss overcome, suicide, attempts unload the. Guns it was a
lot of hard, work a bit of, luck and the

(30:14):
desire to prove That i'm better AND i won't be
defeated by. Hate, mandy your debt to me intern was
a prime example of a mister noah all. Youngster trust
me WHEN i say, This matt truly understands he doesn't know.
EVERYTHING a bit of that was just show voting for
the radio, show And, God i'm so glad he did
it because it was. Hilarious All, right when we get,

(30:34):
back want to quickly talk ABOUT, shassa the organization that
oversees high school sports and their decision to make sure
that girls lose in the. Future, Hey, mandy there are
only two things you control your actions and your. Attitude
your character shows by what your actions and attitude are
not only when things go, WELL i. E Travis, hunter

(30:55):
but especially when things don't go. Well should Wear. Sanders
we'll see what kind of character he. Has and you know,
what you guys ego, Aside i'm rooting for him because
this is a public humiliation the likes of WHICH i
cannot recall in a very long. Time but a public
humiliation that this texture points out was partially brought on by,

(31:18):
Himself mandy on Shidor. Sanders his self proclaimed legendary titles
status ON x is not. Helpful during the print where
the draft the print call where THE nfl coaches son
pretended to be THE gm of The, Saints shnor a
couple times used the legendary phrase when he thought it
was a real phone. Call pretty arrogant for him to

(31:38):
be legendary at age twenty three just entering THE. Nfl
perhaps that kind of attitude helped him not get drafted
in the first. Round not to mention the arrogant. Lifestyle
you know WHAT i thought of WHEN i read that
Ad Rod broncos Country let's ride the most contrived catch
phrase in the history of catchphrases that never caught on

(32:01):
because it was. Contrived should never give yourself a, Nickname
you should earn something cool from the people around. You
i'm just, SAYING i don't even know IF i have a.
NICKNAME i, mean wonder what people call me behind my.
Back you can text me that five six SIXTH i.
Know NOW i got to talk ABOUT chassa for a.
MOMENT chasa The Colorado High School Activities ASSOCIATION chasa as

(32:25):
how they're. Known they oversee high school sports In, colorado
and recently a group of eighty people from school districts
and various agencies from across the state ASK chasa to
go ahead and protect girls' sports by making sure that
the only people that could play in high school sports
were actually girls who were born. Girls, now we're told

(32:46):
all the time this is not a big, deal but
there are three state champions in girls' sports right now
across the country who are male state. Champions so this
has got to. Stop this makes absolutely no. Sense it's completely.
Irrational it flies in the face Of title. Nine it
is the stupidest THING i have ever seen in my,

(33:07):
life AND shassa is absolutely doubling. Down, listen the. Response
school communities Throughout colorado hold a broad range of views
on this. Matter while your letter expresses one, viewpoint we
also recognize that a diversity of equally passionate perspectives exists
among our members schools and. Communities we believe all school

(33:31):
leaders should be afforded the respect to act in accordance
with their perspective and values while honoring the legal obligations
that govern their. Institutions it's important to underscore that the
ultimate resolution of these issues will not come FROM, chassa
but rather from the highest levels of the state and federal.
Judiciary as, such chass's role is to support its membership

(33:52):
in remaining informed and, thoughtful while providing timely updates to
our member schools as decisions are rendered by the courts
alone with the state and federal government. Officials, Now i'm
going to do this in one. Minute we've got to
draft a group of young male athletes who are very
good at the sports they play, in and they need

(34:13):
to declare themselves, women and they need to sign up
for girls' sports across the. State we need high school
baseball players to drop into. Softball we need high school
basketball players to play on the women's. Team we need
boys to show up for female. Volleyball we need to
make them force this down their, throats the absurdity of this,
decision because if a boy post puberty can just decide

(34:36):
he wants to play because now he's a, girl then by,
gosh by, golly let's give it to. Him we need
activist boys who are good at. Sports they have to
be good at, sports because if they're not good at,
sports it defeats the whole. Purpose but if they're already
letter athletes in other, sports and they could just slide
into women's sports at every. Opportunity And i'm so sorry
to the girls who are going to be hurt by.

(34:57):
This i'm so so. Sorry but in order to force the,
issue we have to force the. Issue and that's. It
chass's hands are tied due to state. Law it says
This Texter democrats are controlling. This, okay there's an executive.
Order If chassa goes to the state and says we
are in conflict with an executive order from the, president

(35:19):
what do we Do but they're not even doing.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
That it's so so so.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
Ugly mandy behind your, back, MAN i so teasing love your.
Show Handy. Mandy, oh, well that's what my husband calls.
Me we'll be right. Back and when we get, back
if you've seen an email From Doge colorado asking for,
money you're going to want to lock up your. Wallet

(35:45):
i'll tell you about it.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Next The Mandy Connell show is sponsored By belle And
pollock accident and injury.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Lawyers, no It's Mandy connell and.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Nine Saw god.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Want To stay and the noisy preconne keeping the sad.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
Base, Welcome, Welcome welcome to give the second hour of the.
Show and if you listened last, week you heard me
talk about this thing THAT i saw pop up On,
facebook and it Said Colorado. Doge if you want to
get to the bottom of spending In colorado and you
want to you want to really see where all the,
waste froden abuse, is Donate Colorado. Doge but then it

(36:35):
didn't really say what you were donating, for or more,
importantly Who Colorado doge actually, is or how they were
going to find out about all the, waste fraud and,
abuse because didn't appear that any of them were elected
officials who would have access to this. Information and so
immediately my suspicious antenna went, up AND i said last, week,

(36:56):
like let me figure out what this, is because all
over the fundraising plea is we're a. Nonprofit we're a.
Nonprofit we're a. Nonprofit but when you click through to
their donation, page WHICH i, did there's absolutely nothing like
a TAX id number or AN irs status that would
indicate true nonprofit status that would allow you to write

(37:18):
off a donation to this, organization which in my mind
AND i could be the only, one BUT i don't
THINK i. Am WHEN i see someone advertising a, nonprofit
it means, hey IF i donate under, THEM i could
probably take that off my. Taxes it's a, big big, thing.
Right so Thankfully Cherry pie From Complete colorado was listening
to the Show Hi, chery and she, said, OH i

(37:40):
know who knows what's going, On and that means she
connected me With Natalie tennant From Never surrender and joining. Me,
Now Natalie tenant And Todd, watkins the vice chair of
The Olpaso Republican, party have joined me to talk About colorado. Doge, now,
GUYS i want to say. THIS i just got this
text from a listener that, said, Hey, Mandy colorado doge

(38:00):
stands for Cunning. Optimists disguised organization for generating easy. Money
so let's talk about What Colorado doge actually. Is, natalie
what do you know about this shadowy? ORGANIZATION i also, Wait,
natalie hang, On hang, On, natalie hang, on your bandwidth

(38:25):
is not very. Good turn your video off and let's
just do the audio for you so we can see
if we can get a better. Connection, okay we're very
very warbled there for a. Moment hang, On she's, god
there you. Go, Okay, Natalie now tell me What george was.
Doing that's so much.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Better go.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
Ahead.

Speaker 8 (38:42):
Okay SO i got a TEXT i believe it was
Last thursday from numerous. People we're, like did you see?
This look What Cody LeBlanc is. Doing Cody lebanc is
In Well. County i'm In Well, county so we're very
familiar with each, other AND i, mean He i'll try
not to go score.

Speaker 7 (39:00):
Here but, anyways it was brought to my. ATTENTION i
started looking into. IT i figured out the, website and,
again texts went. Crazy so everybody started looking at TRACER, fc.

Speaker 8 (39:08):
Like do they have?

Speaker 7 (39:09):
Filings, well appears that they have filed. Something they were
also on The Rhino watch podcast and they spewed everything
that they're doing with, This so, yes they are going
under the guise Of COLORADO. Doge, OKAY dog stands For
department Of Government. Efficiency they are no part of the.

Speaker 8 (39:27):
Government. OKAY i feel this is very. Nefarious SO i looked.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Into it and it.

Speaker 7 (39:32):
Is they've spoke on their little call last, night which
we were going to have A twitter space due to
a series of unfortunate events that could not.

Speaker 8 (39:41):
Happen we are thankful to be on with you, Today,
mandy so thank.

Speaker 7 (39:45):
You this oozes nefariousness because they're using the logo as,
well the Name colorado doche in big, letters just like
you KNOW doge actually uses. It AND i just felt
it needed to be brought to the tension of ACTUAL
doge because it's nefarious that they're doing it under the
guys that they're raising money FOR doge and they're no

(40:08):
part OF. Doge So Cody, LeBlanc if you want to
go do your little nonprofit and. Whatever it's not the
first time he's done stuff like this from WHAT i,
hear go do, it but not under the guise OF.
Doge you're misleading the. People you are not a government,
entity AND i don't think doge. FUNDRAISE i don't think
that's what they. Do they're there to just expose. Corruption

(40:30):
they're not fundraising and asking people for.

Speaker 8 (40:33):
Money it just.

Speaker 7 (40:35):
Reeks and then add the lawsuit stuff into it And.
Todd that's Why todd's on with, me because he is
on the lawsuit and he's fully aware of that is
it appears to me Appears, OKAY i don't have facts
that the money that was raised over last, weekend which
was just shive two thousand dollars from all anonymous, donners,
donors nobody would even vouch their name on, it, okay

(40:56):
that they're using this.

Speaker 8 (40:58):
Money then didn't they file thing with the? Courts?

Speaker 9 (41:00):
Tod, yes they, Did BUT i have to correct something
first BEFORE i get called out as a you, know.
Misrepresenting i'm the former vice. Chair my, Apologies, todd thank, yeah,
Yeah SO I i will.

Speaker 8 (41:19):
Dare to kind of tread to where Where natalie is
is being.

Speaker 9 (41:23):
Cautious this is Uh Cody LeBlanc In Wealth, county Like natalie,
said And Eric, grossman who is the chairman of The
Mineral COUNTY, GfG and it appears that they stood this
up as a fundraising, money a cruel scheme to fund

(41:44):
their attempt to join the lawsuit against Me Nancy, Colotsi Christy,
Burton Brownie Like, Bremmer kevin, McCartney And Britta horn that
was begun By Williams Hope, Shuffleman Anna, ferguson the former

(42:06):
officers of The COLORADO gop who no longer have standing
in the, case so they're. Out enter a man Named Matt,
arnold under the auspices of a investigative, committee supposedly stood
up by The COLORADO gop Executive. Committee his motion to
join the lawsuit was tossed, out and within twenty four

(42:29):
hours of that judicial, ruling Income Eric grossman And Cody
LeBlanc attempting to join the, lawsuit also as under their,
names not under the moniker Of Colorado. Doge but, Yeah
i'll put one in one together and the, founders, yeah
they Are Colorado. Doge you're telling me that seems like

(42:52):
what it's. For it's to fund their frivolous.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
Lawsuit, well let me ask.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
You, natalie because you said they fundraised over the weekend
and they were on some kind of show or podcast or,
whatever and did they say they were raising money to
trial this? Lawsuit so they've been so they're lying on
the internet about what.

Speaker 8 (43:12):
They did last. Night on their call, too they said.
It we had people that were on that call.

Speaker 7 (43:18):
Too the funniest thing, too is again a series of unfortunate.
EVENTS i could not hold That twitter space x space last,
night which maybe by the grace Of god because they
were ready and they said on their little live that
they were going to live stream my ax space so they.
Can how is it said they would get me in

(43:39):
a gotcha moment for spewing my. Lies i'm going all
of this is based off of everything they've, said everything
they've posted their, website their, posts their.

Speaker 8 (43:48):
Flyers i've watched what.

Speaker 7 (43:51):
They're doing and it is a Nefarious they have clearly
clearly stated that they are using this against the CURRENT gop,
leadership Also Todd, Walkin Dli, BREMER, Kbb kevin, McCarney all
those listed in that lawsuit that they are using this
for that this is their first, Attack, like come, On,

(44:11):
colorado are you going to donate to an?

Speaker 8 (44:12):
Organization we've had enough over the last.

Speaker 7 (44:15):
Two, years and you know we're called the coup because
we Questioned Dave williams and his. Antics you, know current
leadership hasn't even been in office for thirty days.

Speaker 8 (44:25):
BARELY i think we're right out about thirty and they're already, bitching,
like give it a.

Speaker 7 (44:31):
Minute we Got republicans with frivolous lawsuits in law fair
again raising money under the guise Of doge to attack
our current.

Speaker 8 (44:40):
Leadership so the coup didn't do any of that. Stuff
the coup didn't even.

Speaker 7 (44:44):
File, lawsuits which everybody is a Hope sheppelman is lying
on social media and they keep touting this that the
coup filed the.

Speaker 8 (44:53):
Lawsuit they know they did.

Speaker 7 (44:56):
Not Todd in them did not file that first, Lawsuit
they did not start a law, fair so the current
state party leadership.

Speaker 8 (45:03):
Did so wait a, minute we're going to keep, on
leave it, ON i.

Speaker 4 (45:06):
Guess so why is the lawsuit still a? THING i,
Mean Britta horn is now the chairman of The COLORADO
gop and she's suing. Herself why is that even still a?

Speaker 9 (45:14):
Thing so that's the therein is kind of the the,
twisty you, know serpent nature of.

Speaker 6 (45:22):
This.

Speaker 9 (45:24):
True the three who brought the, Lawsuit Dave, hopanana did
so under as in their official, Capacity so essentially it's
the you Know Colorado Republican party suing The six Of. Us,
well one of the six Of us is now the
head of The COLORADO. Gop so They britta and an

(45:45):
attorney Named Steve klinda was retained to represent the party
in this, matter Dismissing dave's, Attorney Dave.

Speaker 8 (45:53):
Pigot there was no objection to.

Speaker 9 (45:55):
That emotion was made with the court to substitute For
dave And Steve kleinda For Dave, piggott no, objections and
they filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit with, prejudice
meaning it cannot be revisited and those matters cannot be
brought up in a court. Anymore and along Comes Matt

(46:19):
arnold under the auspices of that investigative committee THAT i mentioned,
Earlier so that put a stop in rulings and a
flurry of answers and responses and you, know legal briefs
regarding his opposition To Steve clenda representing the Party brita

(46:40):
dismissing the, lawsuit and a couple of other things THAT
i can't. Remember essentially those are the judge hasn't ruled
on a lot of, those but the judge Throughout Matt
arnold participating in the. Lawsuits so you, KNOW i guess
by by default then all those other motions are now
are now. Moot whether the judge issues a statement as

(47:03):
to their, MOOTNESS i don't know when or if that will,
come but suffice it to say that and joinder or
is no longer at. Play and so then along Come
Toddy LeBlanc And Eric grossman to keep this. Going so
rather than dismissing this and putting an end to, THAT

(47:26):
i looks to me like they're just trying to prolong
this law fair and keep us having to retain our
attorneys and there and respond and file briefs to what
is ultimately going to be the same faith they're going
to get tossed out.

Speaker 4 (47:43):
To so now let me ask you, This, natalie because
you saw the, post AND i read the, Post but
DID i miss the part where they said that the
monies that were going to be raised For COLORADO doje
were going to go finance these? Lawsuits was that in that?
Post BECAUSE i do not recall seeing. That and if if,
not then isn't this fraud that they are. Perpetrating we're they're,

(48:06):
saying you're gonna go find waste fraud and abuse in
the state Of, colorado but we're just gonna use it
to attack Fellow.

Speaker 7 (48:11):
Republicans so this is their first, MISSION i guess we
could call. It and Again i'm just basing my opinions
my words right. NOW i watched The Rhino watch podcast very,
detailed AND i went to the PLAYBACK i caught some
clips on.

Speaker 8 (48:30):
It they clearly clearly said that this is what caused
them to.

Speaker 7 (48:36):
Build this is this this was their first Thing they're
going after is retribution that the coup needs to pay
the money.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
BACK I i these people don't want to. Win they
don't want to, win they don't care about Helping republicans win.
Elections they want to burn it all, down roll over
the ash, heap and Let colorado continue to slide into
the ultra, progressive left wing state that it. Is AND

(49:06):
i don't know how to stop. THAT i don't know
how to make these people recognize that they are doing
far more damage than ANY rhyo that they're worried about
by this continued ongoing nonsense when they have been, clearly you,
know rebuked by The Central committee who clearly said we

(49:27):
don't want you in charge. Anymore, so how does this
all end? Correct what do we do? HERE i don't.

Speaker 6 (49:33):
Know you know a.

Speaker 7 (49:34):
Lot i've had a lot of guidance on. This i'm
very vocal. Online call me an. Activists there's a lot
of other names out there people have for. Me BUT
i speak, truths and WHEN i see nefariousness or something
doesn't seem right to, Me i'm going to question.

Speaker 8 (49:48):
It kind of like our legislators right. Now you, KNOW
i love most of, them but, hey there is a
time to hold them, accountable and to hold people. Accountable
we voted you, in we can vote you.

Speaker 7 (49:59):
Out but, this this rate here Is republicans Attacking, republicans
and they're not giving the benefit of the.

Speaker 8 (50:07):
Doubt Brit it not quite thirty. Days yet she's going
to do great, things you, guys give it a.

Speaker 7 (50:13):
Minute you, know if they had walked in and got
the smooth, transition maybe That dave had promised and they.

Speaker 8 (50:19):
Didn't they're going to lie about that, too because they
lie about.

Speaker 7 (50:22):
Everything they take their small factions of a truth and
beloviate it to their.

Speaker 8 (50:27):
Narrative so you, know.

Speaker 7 (50:29):
Be mad because there was one hundred thousand dollars in
legal fees or whatever the number, is at this. Point
but the current leadership did not create. That Todd watkins
did not create. That he called to question the actions
of the chair and what the actions of what he was.
Doing there were other people that jumped on board with.
THIS i supported this one hundred percent from the, beginning

(50:49):
AND i wouldn't change. ANYTHING i would do it all over.
Again timing was, horrible but now they're mad because they.
Lost they don't have control. Anymore and, oh they're gonna
come get us gotcha. Moment they're going to get a gotcha.

Speaker 8 (51:01):
Moment enough of the.

Speaker 7 (51:02):
Law, Fair let's put boots on the ground and do the.
Work let's grow the, Party let's Get republicans. Elected be
pissed all you. Want you, know we're still pissed about
some stuff, too but.

Speaker 8 (51:14):
We're not acting a.

Speaker 7 (51:15):
Fool we're just Gonna i'm gonna speak truth all the, Time,
mandy and if it puts a big target over, me that's,
Fine i'll take.

Speaker 4 (51:21):
It, Well it's it's kind of sad because you, know
there are people who really believe that they're going to
donate money and they're gonna find, waste fraud and abuse In.
Colorado AND i think it's a very interesting positioning that they're.
Using and it SEEMS i, MEAN i. Don't it seems
like fraud to, me like actual illegal definition of. Fraud

(51:42):
when you say we're going to find, waste fraud and
abuse In colorado's government and then you redirect that money
to continue your personal grievance as a part of inner
party bickering THAT i don't know how that's ny.

Speaker 8 (51:53):
Fraud i've given this out to a lot of, People,
mandy just know.

Speaker 7 (51:56):
This i've connected with, People i've spoke with elected AND i, said,
look this is not a good.

Speaker 8 (52:03):
Look.

Speaker 7 (52:04):
Again If Cody LeBlanc wants to go create some nonprofit.

Speaker 8 (52:08):
Called blah blah, blah call it blah blah, blah.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
Then call it what it.

Speaker 8 (52:12):
Is you are Not Colorado. Doge you're not raising money Under.

Speaker 7 (52:15):
Doge stop, it go do Your i'll keep my words Clean, hereians,
fine do your shenanigans and we'll combat that if we need.
To but this isn't healthy for the, party, Man this
isn't healthy at. All it's and it Has it's nothing
like what happened last. Year this is we didn't come swinging.

(52:35):
Out todd didn't come swinging out with lawsuits like we're
gonna sue.

Speaker 8 (52:39):
You he just wanted a damn meeting.

Speaker 7 (52:41):
Held and if they had just held that damn meeting
within the time called day would have.

Speaker 8 (52:46):
Won it would have been. Over no lawsuits would have.

Speaker 7 (52:48):
Happened if they don't see it that, way they can't
see the truth and logic of, it of what actually
would have. Happened but, no they had to come in
with a frivolous lawsuit and here we are they should
have to.

Speaker 8 (52:58):
Pay but, no it's really. Ridiculous it's, intense it's, insane it's,
mental it's a lot of, things And i'm not standing for.
It SO i hope this gets to THE doge.

Speaker 7 (53:07):
People the Actual doge, people and they see Because i'm
gonna tell you right, now they're also using the shebi you,
know dog.

Speaker 8 (53:13):
LOGO i think some people should look into. That can
they use? THAT i don't think so.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Well they put A c around it to make it
Look colorado. Does AND i just found their actual, website
which by the, WAY i did not share on my
blog today BECAUSE i don't want to encourage anyone to
go to this, website but it does say support efforts
like The Colorado Republican Party Controversy Investigative, committee which by the,
way has been completely. Disbanded is there everything anymore which
is uncovering serious internal? Violations well more than, That.

Speaker 9 (53:44):
Mandy it's been, dissolved And Matt arnold thinks it can't be.
Dissolved he's decided that he has some sort of you,
know divine immortality bestowed upon him By Dave, williams who's
no longer the chair of the. Party But britta dissolved that,
committee which she has the authority to do according to

(54:07):
the state the party's. Bylaws and now we have a judge,
essentially you, know footstomping that, decision saying, yeah you're subordinate
to The Executive, committee to The Colorado Republican, committee and
you do not have the authority to act independently on your.

Speaker 8 (54:24):
Own so you're not immortal and you're not. Omnipotent but you.

Speaker 9 (54:28):
Brought up, earlier you, know the idea that THIS doge
Is Colorado doge represented some sort of, Fraud AND i
would offer this THE g IN doge stands for Government
department of government. Efficiency they're not doing anything with government,
efficiency they're looking at party. Efficiency so would it be
more appropriate for them to name it The Colorado dope.

Speaker 8 (54:48):
Dpe leave it To. Todd you know what that is
like you coming around.

Speaker 4 (54:54):
Exactly there you, Go Todd watkins And Natalie. TENNANT i
appreciate you coming on. TODAY i hope you saved some
of my listeners some of their own money from donating
to something that they think is going to do one
thing when it's going to do something entirely. Differently just
to let you guys, Know i'm going to Email cody
right now and invite him to come on the show
and explain. Himself SO i. Will i'll let him know

(55:16):
you send your, regards But i'll give them a chance
to explain why they're not just grifting by using doge
when that's not what they're doing at. ALL i, mean
this is such a bait and switch it's not even. Funny,
Guys thanks for making time for me. Today this is
every TIME i think we're going to be able to
move forward right because there are huge and pressing issues

(55:36):
in this state WHERE i believe that The Republican party
has the better answer for the problems that this state
Of colorado has right, now and we can't even have
a discussion about those answers because we're mired in crap like,
this so let's just shine the light on crap like
this in the hopes that little turd will dry up
and blow. Away Todd watkins And Natalie, TENNANT i appreciate

(55:59):
your time, today. Guys Thanks mandy for having us an all,
right have an awesome. Day that, Is todd And, Natalie
oh my, goodness, Gracious i'm sending an email right now
inviting these people on the show to explain why what
they're doing is not a grift when clearly it appears
to be a grift in my. Opinion we'll be right

(56:19):
back at about two thirty this. Afternoon i'm excited to
have the gentleman from THE dea who orchestrated the massive
investigation that led to a bus last night at an illegal.
Nightclub And i'm a little dodgy on this nightclub because
they they don't use the Way i'm not quite sure underground.

(56:41):
NIGHTCLUB i, mean did they have a license or. Not
so we're gonna talk to him at two thirty and
find out the details about. That So i'm looking forward
to that as. Well got a lot of other stuff
on the blog. Today there are so many things happening
right now in This colorado legislature that are so. Bad
When ross AND i were driving a winter part we
were talking about the fact that every, year at the

(57:02):
end of the legislative, session we kind of, think, oh thank,
god that's over and it can't be worse next, Year
and then The Colorado democrats are, like hold my, beer
it's going to be way worse next. Year and this
year we have so many bills that are designed to
erode the relationship between children and. Parents one of, THEM
hb twenty five thirteen, twelve is being discussed This. Wednesday

(57:25):
that is the bill that would essentially say if a
parent uses the quote dead name of a child who
has changed their, gender that can be used against them
in a custody. HEARING i, mean it's it's gone well
beyond what any normal person should. Expect AND i got
a text message WHEN i spent two minutes talking About

(57:46):
chassa refusing to prevent voice from playing in girls'. SPORTS
i got an angry text who, said why are you
always talking about trans? People there's so few of them
in the. World, well you know, what The colorado legislature
keeps doing things that force it into the conversation and
this bill goes well beyond what is reasonable or, necessary
and it's they're Testifying wednesday at one point. Thirty if

(58:09):
you want to, Testify i've got Information hidigan All, road
really good column about it on The Rocky Mountain, voice
And i've got that on the blog. Today if you
would like to go, testify you have to sign up in.
Advance AND i would love to flood the capitol with
parents On wednesday and just say enough is, Enough leave
my children, Alone leave them, alone because it is it's

(58:34):
just gotten. RIDICULOUS i don't know how to get in
touch with Former Mayor Michael, hancock but, BOY i want.
To he's writing regular columns for The Denver gazette now
and today's he called Out Aurora Public schools in The
Cherry Creek School district for not being more transparent about
where the bond dollars that they are just getting and

(58:57):
the mill levy overrides are, going because it doesn't appear
to go for student. Achievement it's going to add amin.
Costs and a lot of bond issues are about capital,
issues capital, costs Like Douglas county just passed a big bond.
Issue but before they passed the bond, ISSUE i have

(59:20):
to give the board a lot of. Credit along with the,
superintendent they released a, list an actual list of things
that would be funded by the bond issue by. School so,
you as a voter In Douglas county could go to this.
Website AND i put a link to the. Website it's still.
Live you can still go look at it and you
can go look and see what your neighborhood school is

(59:40):
going to get from this bond. Issue and bond, issues
by the, way you, guys they're just borrowing money that
the taxpayers are promising to pay, back, Right so that's
what a bond. Is so, ultimately the bond issues need
to be clear and. Transparent And Mayor Michael hank is
calling out a roor of public schools In Cherry creek

(01:00:02):
schools for not being. Transparent AND i hate, to you,
know point it out for them in such easy, terms
But Douglas county already showed you how to do. It
and if you don't know what the money is needed,
for and you don't know what you're going to spend it,
on why are you asking for so? Much that's the
other thing they don't even have An excel. Spreadsheet how

(01:00:23):
did they come up with the? Numbers how did they
know how much to decide to ask for if they
don't already have a. List i'd love to know the
answer to. That but if you know how to get
in touch With Mayor Michael, hancock please text me or email,
me Because i'd love to have him on the show.
Again AND i, bet unlike our current, mayor he would
probably come back on the. Show and my only connection

(01:00:45):
THAT i had directly with the MAYOR i do not have.
Anymore so if you, know let's just go ahead and
make that, happen BECAUSE i kind of missed that. GUY
i love talking to, him mostly because he would talk to,
me but also because even though when he was, mayor
his handlers would always try to, limit you, know what's going,

(01:01:07):
on and they would always try to limit what we
were talking. About but WHAT i found the mayor to
be was able to talk on any subject at any.
Time And i'm talking About Mayor Michael. Hancock and so
if anybody knows how to get in touch with, him
let me know Because i'd love to have him back

(01:01:28):
on the show.

Speaker 5 (01:01:28):
Again so.

Speaker 4 (01:01:31):
There's a lot of talk right now about criminal justice
reform In colorado and the fact that they are making
it even easier for us to be a sanctuary. State
they passed more laws about sanctuary state stuff in this
last legislative, session making us even more. Sanctuary this editorial
in The Denver gazette has hit a hot button for

(01:01:52):
me personally THAT i would love to see more conversation.
About they start out by Saying colorado's radical left wing
legislative majority brazenly prioritizes criminals over law, abiding tax paying.
Residents what began is soft on, crime criminal justice reform
has become a blatant effort to burden law Biding coloradin's
while coddling. Criminals this trend is storicly evident in state gun,

(01:02:16):
laws where actions Like Senate bill two seventy, One House
built eleven seventy, one And Senate bill three combine to
ease restrictions on offenders while burdening responsible citizens with strict.
Controls the state undermines public, safety caudles, criminals and betrays
law Abiding colorado's already drowning in, taxes, fees, regulations and

(01:02:37):
inflation signed into law in twenty twenty, one and then
it goes on to talk about the criminal justice reform
stuff that has already been, done and They i'm jumping
down here BECAUSE i don't need to do all, That
and then they talk about INCREDIBLY hb eleven seventy, one

(01:02:57):
in a modest, effort they, say to control the damage
empowering felons with new gun. Rights Three democrats recently Introduced
House bill eleven seventy. One if signed into, law it
would bar individuals with three felony convictions for motor vehicle
theft from possessing, firearms a common sense step Given colorado's

(01:03:18):
nation leading auto theft. Rates inter rational, legislature this bill
would soar through both. Chambers reasonable politicians would amend it
to forbid guns on the basis of one felony auto theft,
conviction especially after legislators obstructed gun rights for law abiding,
citizens would sen at MAL. Iii, INCREDIBLY hb eleven seventy

(01:03:39):
one barely sweep through The Judiciary committee by a single.
Vote even, then it contained a provision to restore gun
rights for serial felons ten years past their. Convictions the
thing that drives me crazy About colorado legislature is they
never make it harder on criminals to commit a crime
with the. Gun can you imagine If colorado passed a

(01:04:03):
three strikes in your out? Bill the three strikes in
your outmill works like. This you get caught committing a
crime with a gun three times and you're looking at
the potential of life in. Prison, now imagine what locking
up the actual criminals would do when it comes to gun.

(01:04:23):
Violence imagine what locking up people who are actually breaking the.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Law with a.

Speaker 4 (01:04:30):
Firearm imagine if we took all of those people off the,
streets what would? HAPPEN, omg it would be, amazing absolutely,
amazing and yet they won't do. It the fact of
the matter is is that IF i were in the,
legislature the first BILL i would try to pass right

(01:04:51):
now as a conservative right, leaner IS i would pass
a bill that says every gun crime that is, reported
every report that is filled out by law, enforcement needs
to have an extra checkbox added to, it and that
checkbox is, simply was the gun used in this crime obtained?
Legally that would be the only. Question just add put

(01:05:14):
that on the form somewhere right in the. MARGINS i don't,
care but we need to start gathering data about how
many crimes are committed in the state Of colorado using
a legally purchased. FIREARM i bet it is statistically, insignificant
because once we have that, data then it becomes impossible
to argue that more laws against law abiding citizens are,

(01:05:37):
needed and we can start passing laws to take people
who are committing gun crimes off the streets for a, very,
very very long, time at which POINT i think we'll
see our crime rates start to trend in the right,
direction because right now there's nothing to dissuade, them nothing
because we just keep making new laws for law abiding,
people not for criminals who tend to ignore. Them, anyway

(01:06:01):
even though he looks just Like Michael, hancock who was
the former, mayor they have a different middle. Initial they're
not the same. Person they look the, same AND i
don't mean they look the same because they're. Black you
can just keep those. Comments they look the, same both
bald slight goateique. Glasses This Michael ahncock looks a little bit,

(01:06:25):
older But Michael hancock has gotten older since he left. Office,
wow that's. Crazy thank You texters for clarifying. That BUT
i still Miss Mayor Michael. HANCOCK i just do still
want to talk to him, like where's the mayor? Today
where is he? Now what's? Happening so thank you for
the Clarification and to The, texter you, guys sometimes on

(01:06:47):
the text, LINE i get the most genius ideas AND
i don't even have to do the rest of the
show because these genius ideas come. In This texter, said
my first LAW i try to pass is all criminals
must obey all current. Laws get the. Irony they actually,
said get the. Irony, yeah that would be, cool if
only it would, work if only all? Right also on

(01:07:07):
the blog, today this story is kind of. Crazy i'm
still a little bit mad at A rod that he
made me interview my PILLOW Ceo Mike lindell at THE
Rnc and he did make me Interview Mike lindell at
the r N. C i also think the one area

(01:07:28):
WHERE i have a lot of sympathy For Tina, peters
WHO i do believe broke the, law is that she
relied on the legal team that Was Mike lindell's legal,
team AND i think they used her case to sort
of test some legal theories because he is facing a defamation,
suit which we buy an executive of dominion voting, systems

(01:07:51):
a massive defamation, suit and he had to file a
some sort of, document some sort of response in this
case In, Colorado, okay because dominion is based, here so
the case is. Here so he, files his team files a,
brief and according to court, Documents i'm reading from our

(01:08:14):
friends At fox thirty.

Speaker 7 (01:08:15):
One.

Speaker 4 (01:08:15):
Here according to court, Documents Federal Judge Nina wang found
about thirty defective citations in a brief That lindell's legal
time filed In. February the defects range for, misquotes, too
citations of cases that do not. Exist here's where it gets.
Interesting The lindell legal team USED ai to write the, brief,

(01:08:43):
which by the, way apparently more and more attorneys are.
Doing BUT ai does this thing CALLED ai, hallucinations where
it wants to please us so much it just makes
stuff up out of whole, cloth and in this, case
made up, cases made up quot, boats made up, citations
and no one From Mike lindell's legal team caught. It,

(01:09:06):
now they say in their, defense the legal team, says
this brief was filed by. Mistake it was supposed to
be an initial brief that we then went back and
we made a bunch of changes to, well they should
have actually walked in with that brief for the judge and,
said oh my, Gosh, jush we are so. Embarrassed we
are just so embarrassed about. This here's the real. Brief

(01:09:31):
this is like a clown show on. Steroids this defense, TEAM.

Speaker 8 (01:09:35):
I Mean.

Speaker 4 (01:09:38):
David, laye an attorney who is not involved with the,
case said ABOUT ai and, briefs you can use. It
it's not a, prohibition but you have to go check the.
Sites if you're going to cite people Versus, smith and
this is the case, number you got to go look
and see is there such a? Case seems pretty, Basic

(01:10:01):
pretty pretty. Basic wang has Ordered lindell Attorney Christopher katuraf
and another member of the legal team to demonstrate why
they should not face court sanctions and be referred for disciplinary.
Action they're throwing themselves on their sword and simply saying
it was human. Error we're so, sorry we don't. Know

(01:10:25):
but when we get, BACK i want to share something
with you that my brother is a. Guy he just
likes to mess with, stuff right and right now he's
been messing WITH, ai and he of course does it
in a way that's far more creative in the Way
i'm USING ai, Right i'm USING ai to plan vacations
And i'm not even. Kidding chat, gpt where CAN i

(01:10:47):
find an overwater bungalow that's built so only check AND
i are planning our twentieth anniversary trip in three? Years
got to get a jump on. Things chat gpt found
it all for. Me it's just been. Magical but my
brother used it after having a less than stellar restaurant.
Experience he used it to write a review For, yelp

(01:11:10):
but not as, himself as late Great Anthony bourdain and,
boy howdye DID ai? Deliver i'll share it with you.

Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
Next The Mandy Connell show is sponsored By belle And
Pollock accident and injury.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
Lawyers, no It's Mandy connell.

Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
And Dona.

Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Kamata and the Nicety.

Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
Andy coronald keeping Sad.

Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
Babe, Welcome, Welcome.

Speaker 4 (01:11:47):
Welcome to the third hour of the. Show coming up
at about half an, hour we are going to have
a chance to talk to the Dea Special agent in
charge who Assistant Special agent In Charge James. Stroop he
was the artect of the bust that took place at
an underground nightclub In Colorado, springs which netted the arrest

(01:12:08):
of over one hundred, people most of them illegal. Immigrants
so we're going to talk to him in a. Bit
and right, now, THOUGH i have to share with, you,
like you, know a ron how much are you USING
ai and how are you using? It because you're way
more advanced THAN i, am SO i figure you.

Speaker 5 (01:12:22):
Probably do you know more decent amount just like quick
prompts IF i, need, like give me ten different ways
to say this or, whatever like very simple.

Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
Tasks, well my, brother never being one to shy away
from exploiting, technology is now using CHAT gpt to write restaurant,
reviews but not as. Himself he's writing restaurant reviews in
the voice of the late Great Anthony. Bourdain, now if
you're not An Anthony bourdain, FAN i get, It BUT

(01:12:57):
i happen to Love Anthony. BOURDAIN i Miss No, reservations
his travel show that was just so. Outstanding BUT i
want to share with you this restaurant. Interview by the,
way it's written for a restaurant In Las vegas Called Roma.
Me and the headline of This Anthony bourdain CHAT gbt
written review Is Roma me a masterclass in missing the

(01:13:21):
point by somebody who's been around the block too many.
TIMES i, wondered, like, roma, ME i really. DID i walked, in,
hopeful maybe even a little, hungry for one of those
old school red sauce choints where the pasta is a little,
sloppy the bread's the little, birds and the wine flows
faster than you can, say. Nana but WHAT i got
was a slow motion car wreck disguised as, dinner a,

(01:13:44):
baffling infuriating parade of everything that can go wrong when
a kitchen forgets its soul in a dining room forgets its. Manners,
first the, service if you enjoy feeling like a burden
just for, existing congratulations you found your. Mecca, drinks forget about.
It the food, beat the, cocktails the table like it
out of. Money appetizers, sure if by appetizer you mean

(01:14:04):
something random that arrives fifteen minutes after your, entrees already
congealing under the fluorescent. Lights they cleared plates like we
were fugitives on the. Run god forbid you linger over
a half finished forkfull or savor a. Conversation swoop plate,
Gone dignity. Optional i've been mugged with more, grace and
then there was the, Food oh the. Food the carbonara

(01:14:28):
dish so simple it's damn near, sacred came out so
salty it could have pickled a. Corpse one bite and
my face puckered like a raisin in the. Mojave the
lasagna was a crime against Both god and, pasta a,
wet flavorless mass of, mush like somebody dropped a tray
of stofers in the alley behind a strip ball and, Decided,
eh good.

Speaker 5 (01:14:47):
Enough the.

Speaker 4 (01:14:48):
Alfredo don't get me. STARTED i don't know who decided that, creamy,
luscious butter laden sauce should taste like canned che chef
boyarty product. Runoff but here we Are. America this was
the pasta equivalent of a sad gas station hot, dog, pale,
tired and somehow both slimy and dry at the same.
Time you want to know What roma me. Is it's

(01:15:09):
a tourist trap for people who don't know what Real
italian food is supposed to taste. Like it's a plate
of broken promises shoved across the table with all the
warmth and hospitality of a hospitality of A dmv clerk on.
Overtime if, nanah we're, alive to see. This she'd burn
the place to the ground, herself and we'd help her
light the. Match that is a perfect use OF. Ai

(01:15:33):
what are some of the Things if you guys in
the listening audience are USING, ai what are you using it?
For i'd love to, know BECAUSE i do think that
once you start to use. It Because i'm great At internet,
Research i'm. Fantastic i'm just gonna SAY i might be
out of EVERYONE i. KNOW i am top five internet

(01:15:54):
researcher of internet researchers of my entire group of. Friends
some of them are, academics some people do research before a.
LIVING i would put My internet research skills up against
any of. Them so NOW i find myself, going, HMMM
i wonder how to compare these few, things or if
there is a comparison about these different, issues AND i

(01:16:15):
plug it into CHAT gpt and lo and, behold there
it comes and it's. Amazing AND i did learn this
from one of you. Guys one of my listeners told me.
This they, said, Look, mandy if you are questioning the
accuracy of what you get from CHAT, gpt ask them
how they arrived at that. Answer how did you get this?
Answer is a very easy, question and CHAT gpt will

(01:16:38):
either justify itself or correct, itself ALTHOUGH i will SAY
i USE groc more than CHAT. Gpt grock is THE
ai On, twitter and then CHAT gpt is its. Own
but are you guys USING? Ai and if, so how
here's THE ai can't wait? For and this is right
around the, corner you. GUYS i, mean this is right

(01:16:58):
around the, corner very close to getting to a point
where if you go to a doctor's office for a,
visit before you, go you will upload every symptom that
you have into a MEDICAL. Ai and a MEDICAL ai
is far more accurate at diagnostics than a doctor. Is,

(01:17:18):
now why do you still need to see a? Doctor,
well here's the. THING a lot of diseases that we
have and illnesses and issues that, arise we are great
at diagnosing, them but we still need that human touch
to try and figure out the best way to treat. Them,
Right so we're still going to need the doctors to
figure out a treatment. Protocol but there may come a

(01:17:40):
time where instead of going to web md and deciding
that you always have a brain, tumor you're going to
be able to go to MEDICAL ai and you'll be
able to, say, okay look TODAY i woke. Up one
side of my head, hurts my sinuses are a bit,
SWOLLEN i have some weird stomach pain and like a
bubble atomic and i also have a pain in my right.
Elbow And i've got this patch of dry skin on

(01:18:01):
my left arm that is creating all kinds of. Problem
i'm just making up. SYMPTOMS i don't really have all these.
Things but then MEDICAL ai will be able to crunch
all of that and, Say, okay you know, what you
probably don't have a brain, tumor but you probably have
a sinus infection or, whatever and the patches you spot
on your arm has nothing to do with any of.

Speaker 6 (01:18:19):
It.

Speaker 4 (01:18:21):
Mandy one Thing i've learned to ask for is. References
just like someone else told, you exactly, Exactly. Mandy i've
created AN ai agent that is an expert in the
use of our. Software my employees can ask it questions
on how to do things and get great. Instructions oh my,
GOD i would pay money for. That at iHeart to

(01:18:41):
just figure out how to navigate some of the stuff
now that we have to do because we don't have
humans that are building that do this stuff. ANYMORE i
mentioned in the Fact i'm trying to change my photo
on the. Podcast you, GUYS i have to fill in a.
FORM i don't even know what the words. Mean no, clue,
lol No, ah computer is not more. Effective, yes, yes

(01:19:05):
you guys a lot of these. Things people are saying
that lawyers will be replaced BY. AI i don't believe
that BECAUSE ai is not going to go into a
courtroom and convince you that someone is guilty or innocent
based on a gut. Feeling and isn't that What jerry's always.
Do it's a gut, feeling, RIGHT i, mean evidence is,
evidence but ultimately the conviction comes down to a gut. Feeling.

(01:19:25):
Mandy i've USED ai to write a cancelation policy for my.
Salon OH i love that cover letters for a job.
Opportunity well, done very well. DONE i found out THAT
i can use grock to dissect my blood panel. Results
you just take a picture of it then boom. Results.
Wow that's fascinating because you know when you get your
blood panel back and there's always that weird thing and you're,

(01:19:47):
like wait a, MINUTE i don't know what that, is
and you look it up and it's a little, high
and you're like, well that's What i'm gonna die from.
That it's all, Over. MANDY i AVOID ai and feared
as much AS i feared traffic round about ELSE i
drive a mile out of my way to avoid. THEM
i have to tell you, GUYS i love the. Roundabouts,
hey roder you?

Speaker 10 (01:20:06):
Were are you on?

Speaker 4 (01:20:07):
Roundabouts pro? Roundabout anti? ROUNDABOUT i love? Roundabouts of course you.

Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
Do they're.

Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
Terrible, no they keep traffic moving so much more. Efficiently. Terrible,
no why do you hate a roundabout BECAUSE i just.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
Do.

Speaker 4 (01:20:20):
No roundabouts are way better than a stop light or
a four way. Stop there's so much more, Efficient. Mandy
i've ASKED rock everything from passic activity loss limitations to
meet all. Recipes it does pretty. GOOD i don't know
IF i TRUST aa with my recipes because they can't
eat nor can they. Taste just throwing that out, there

(01:20:42):
lawyers will be enhanced with their ability to USE. Ai,
absolutely you describe my symptoms and it was a, tumor
WEB md, SAID i already. Died now you rank amateur internet.
Doctors you don't just go to Web. Md. NO i
tell my doctor all the. Time she knows That i'm
an internet. Doctor and WHEN i go IN i am

(01:21:03):
right about what's wrong with, me like ninety five percent
of the. Time the other five percent it's usually, nothing
just throwing it out there five, six six. Nine, oh
tell me what you're USING ai. For we'll do. That
next controversial roundabouts were until that simple conversation that has
now lit up the text. Line roundabouts are fine until

(01:21:24):
they block your view of traffic with statues and landscaping
in the middle of. Them that is a fair, point
a very fair. Point this person pointed. Out the only
people who don't like roundabouts are those who put the
toilet paper against the wall or who dig for gold
and check to see if it's, real i. E pick their. Nose, yeah, yep, Yep.

(01:21:50):
MANDY i help my team write an interview follow up
email using CHAT gpt AND i did get something from
someone IN. Hr it has already fallen off of the
text line that, said, YEAH i work IN. Hr those
CHAT gbt cover letters are not all they're cracked up to. Me,
guys if you're doing anything ON ai and then you
are not massaging it or editing it after you do,

(01:22:12):
that that is you are doing that at your own.
Peril BECAUSE ai doesn't get this is what just happened
to my? Pillow, Guys. Mandy i've had a total of
two conversations WITH. Ai both started WHEN i saw an obvious.
Error in each, case they denied any knowledge of the
error UNTIL i pointed it out they had made it
in the first. Place in both, cases they then. Apologized

(01:22:34):
mandy used it to design my son's hockey teams. Jerseys
definitely pro roundabout people don't like to, Think. Mandy roundabouts
make you think and be aware of your. Surroundings, man
if you use the roundabouts in Downtown Castle, rock they're
too small to use. Properly, yeah those are pretty, dinky
AND i always, think, like what if you're driving a
big truck in some of? Those you? Know my college

(01:22:59):
kid uses chat gpt for weekly meal plan with each
meal under fifteen. Dollars my daughter in law does the same,
thing only she'll say chat gpt create a menu for
me and a shopping list that Is whole thirty compliant
because she Follows whole thirty every once in a while
and stuff like. That and it just spits out these
recipes and.

Speaker 5 (01:23:18):
It's, like WHAT.

Speaker 4 (01:23:20):
I USE ai to adjust baking recipes for? Altitude?

Speaker 6 (01:23:23):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
WOW i unfortunately diagnosed my son with a rare disease
on web md and crappy.

Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
PART i was.

Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
RIGHT i am so sorry about. That that's one of
those times when you probably were wishing and praying to be.
Wrong mandy tons of. Stuff i'm seventy two years old
and still. Working this, morning we needed to shorten the
content on a piece of marketing material from four pages to.
TWO a few weeks, ago we use CHAT gpt to
create a programming script to summarize results from about twenty

(01:23:54):
different interviews with sixty questions from about twenty people and
put it all on one spreadshere and see that kind
of task right there is WHY ai is. Amazing Amazing
if you're not good at creating, spreadsheets WHICH i am
not good at creating, Spreadsheets LIKE i know how to
Use Microsoft, excel But i'm not gonna. Lie every TIME

(01:24:16):
i click that button to open, IT i get, THIS
i start to get the flop, sweat you, know AND
i start to get this little panicky. Feeling but let
me tell you. SOMETHING. Ai they can do that for.
You it's pretty. Amazing and since it is going to
be a part of our lives going, forward why not
dip your toe into it when your job isn't being

(01:24:37):
threatened to make you good at your. Job i'm learning
to code using rock that's. Fantastic my boss has used
CHAT gbt for verbal and written warnings for. Employees, Yeah,
mandy roundabouts are fine except for those people that don't

(01:24:58):
know how to use them or don't know what you fielded,
means which is a significant number of. People maybe Maybe,
MANDY i USED ai to price how much it would
be to sell a fig upside down almond. Cake we
have a fig, tree so the entrepreneur THAT i am
wants to sell some this. SUMMER i gave it the
recipe and broke down the price of the, eggs, milk almond,

(01:25:19):
flour electrical use in labor all together twenty eight. Bucks
so were you selling the cakes for twenty eight bucks
because you also have to factor In, yeah you did.
Labor that's pretty. Good will you drive big trucks use
both lanes in? Roundabouts we also have the right of
way in. Them that seems. Reasonable and last, One, MANDY

(01:25:42):
i use ai'd answer all sorts of questions that would
otherwise require a half hour to do more, research. Eg
if tariffs are. Inflationary why was the economy deflationary After Smoot,
holly that's a really good. Question why Did honda switch
to a completely NEW v six engine at my? Age
is it a bad idea to do thirty to thirty

(01:26:02):
five push ups? DAILY i know the answer to that is.
No will it give me a heart? Attack john And
pueblo us AN ai the way it's supposed to be
when we get. Back there was a huge bust In
Colorado springs last, night and joining me next to talk
about it is the man who sort of orchestrated the.
Raid we're going to talk about yesterday's or we're also

(01:26:23):
going to talk about the investigation that led up to
the raid and what actually came out of it With James.
Stroop he is The Assistant Special agent in charge from
THE Dea Rocky Mountain. Division he's joining us next the
story of a huge bust In Colorado springs over the,
weekend AND i am thrilled to have with. Us who
was this person was described to me BY dea Spokesperson

(01:26:46):
Stephan tubbs as the architect of yesterday's. Enforcement joining me,
Now Assistant Special agent in charge of THE Dea Rocky Mountain,
Division James, Stroup welcome to the, show.

Speaker 11 (01:26:58):
Sir thank you mana having.

Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
ME i want to start at the very, beginning And
i'd love for you to tell me a little bit
about the investigation that led to the raid at this underground.

Speaker 10 (01:27:08):
Nightclub so this is so close old investigation as it is.
Ongoing but WHAT i can tell you at most is
that it was very important from us from the beginning
to have a number of our federal partners and our
state local partners involved in this. Case you will learn
that we have roughly ten federal agencies that came together
to view this as a significant opportunity to work. Together in,

(01:27:29):
addition brought in our state local partners From Colorado springs
Of Pasa county and Even Douglas county to. Participate this
is an unheard of event that takes. Place it takes
a lot to be the architect of. THIS i can
tell you that to bring all of these different agencies,
together but it was a sheer joy to do.

Speaker 4 (01:27:44):
So so tell me about the actual. Rate, well answer
a question about the nightclub. ITSELF i keep hearing feel
say it's an underground, nightclub an illegal. Nightclub what was
the status of this. Facility what actually was going.

Speaker 10 (01:27:55):
On, here, well these are underground, facilities is that they're
not known to the, public they're not opening to. Advertise
they have after hour sales of liquor with no liquor.
License you can't be selling liquor or drinks to anybody
without a license between the hours of two am and six.
Am so this was a ward of mouse type environments
where you would get a notice on a particular way

(01:28:16):
and be passed off the information on how to get
to this location very cliindest sine in secret in, nature
and then inside it's just a basic. Club it's loud,
music it's lots of. Drinks but, unfortunately inside this particular
club they had added activities in drug trafficking with the
weapons violations and even.

Speaker 11 (01:28:31):
Prostitutions so did they have any.

Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
Kind of licensing at? ALL i, mean that's the Part
i'm confused. About were they licensed at one point and
then they just went beyond that or is this fully
an underground situation where they're selling a legal liquor.

Speaker 10 (01:28:44):
Too this is fully an underground operator were associated with?

Speaker 4 (01:28:49):
This how many people were arrested.

Speaker 10 (01:28:54):
Through our, investigation we've identified that roughly about two hundred
people were inside this. Location we have one hundred and, ten,
sorry one hundred and fifteen that were taken into ice,
custody and through that process of processing of, them there
are now one hundred and five that are in. Custody
we took another two in custody with regarding their wants
or warrants on local.

Speaker 11 (01:29:13):
Charges the rest were released as they.

Speaker 10 (01:29:15):
WERE us citizens that had no other reason to hold
them for.

Speaker 11 (01:29:18):
Anything, Further, so.

Speaker 4 (01:29:20):
What did you find and when you went into this?
Nightclub other than the, people what else was in?

Speaker 10 (01:29:25):
There we saw quantities of, cocaine pink cocaine or two cy.
Methanphetamine we seized twelve guns and a little bit OF us.

Speaker 4 (01:29:37):
Currency so it is my understanding that when there's a
rate of this sort that you guys walk in and
people just unload drugs and guns onto the floor to
make it harder for you to attach it to the.
Owner is that?

Speaker 5 (01:29:50):
Accurate, yes that's.

Speaker 11 (01:29:52):
It it's very.

Speaker 10 (01:29:52):
Accurate and as you could tell withinside this, club we
had roughly about two hundred people inside and we had
a very large presence of our own on the outside
and us making notice make an entry for the search.
Warrant we had people just spilling, out so they knew
that we were there with our overt, presence and whomen
learned that we were, there it simply was that it's
empty your pockets of whatever you don't want to be caught,
with throw your guns around into a, corner into the ceiling,

(01:30:14):
tiles anything like, that to distance themselves from the drugs
that they were possessing or the weapons they were, possessing
and then from there try to either escape or try
to get outside and just in contacted and be able
to move from.

Speaker 2 (01:30:24):
There how did you?

Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
Guys did you guys initially find out about this place
from a tip or was it through WHAT i? Mean
can you give me that?

Speaker 10 (01:30:31):
Information, well it is an ongoing, investigation but we have
a number of ways that we collect information to get investigation,
started and then we vet that information, thoroughly conduct our
own investigation and continue to work up the.

Speaker 11 (01:30:41):
Line so, again it is an ongoing. Investigation we are not.

Speaker 10 (01:30:45):
Done we're looking at other co consphars within this operation
and if it leads to other, nightclubs then so be,
it but we're continuing our investigation, forthright.

Speaker 4 (01:30:53):
Do you believe that this was gang? Related and are
you confident that you? Are are you?

Speaker 10 (01:30:57):
Arrested gang members last night were aware from our intelligence
of conducting operations inside the club PLANNED estmi through, undercovers
and with that we identified information to indicate that there
WERE tda, members THE rams thirteen, members or Even bandito
members that were inside these. Clubs we're working with our
partners right now to ascertain and to vet the individuals

(01:31:17):
that we contacted to find out if any of them
were any of those members or any of their additional
members such as one of the cartels Like, CINALOA cgng,
AGAIN tda OR ms.

Speaker 4 (01:31:27):
Thirteen without giving too much about the ongoing, investigation up
was it A dea or operation that that turned into
something where you knew that you needed to bring ice
in or was it the reverse or was it a
combination of the.

Speaker 10 (01:31:40):
Two So i'd go back to my beginning is that,
yes this was A dea initiated. Investigation but as you
developed the, intelligence as we further peeled back the layers
of this, investigation we identified that we needed our partners
FROM ATF, armycid CVP, FBI, AHSI, E RO, O, Irsul Special,
service and THE Us marshals and also to include our

(01:32:04):
representatives in Col Rob SPRINGS, pd A Passo COUNTY.

Speaker 11 (01:32:07):
Pd And Douglas.

Speaker 10 (01:32:08):
County the breath of this investigation is revealed that all
of these different agencies THAT i just talked about has
some sort of bearing into, it and so it's very
powerful to be the architect behind this and to combine
these agencies together towards one united. Efforts AND i can
tell you having been out there on the, scene when
you're walking around with this many people from our own
agencies and individuals we encounter in the, club it was

(01:32:29):
powerful to see all those agencies.

Speaker 11 (01:32:30):
Working together as.

Speaker 10 (01:32:31):
One it wasn't Just dea out, There it was all
of our, partners and that makes it so special is
that we were all working together as.

Speaker 4 (01:32:38):
One we're seeing a lot of these bus here In.
Colorado is there renewed? Energy not that there was an energy.
BEFORE i don't want to imply, that but there does
seem to be a renewed energy and a focus on
sort of making these big splashes and publicizing them highly.
Afterward is that part of a strategy as, well to

(01:32:59):
sort of put the bad guy on notice that the
easypsy days are behind them and that they need to
be looking over their.

Speaker 10 (01:33:05):
Shoulder we want everybody to know that federal law enforcement
is here to serve the community and serve the. Public
we are under a different administration and administration is challenging
us to go out there and to improve the communities
and take the fight to the. Community so when we
learn of activities like this, happening we want to have
an immediate action and. Impact and one of the best
ways we can do, that beyond our enforcement, activities is

(01:33:26):
actually sharing that with the public by getting it out
there with the news, media conducting interviews with, Yourself, mandy
but also going.

Speaker 11 (01:33:32):
To our ex.

Speaker 10 (01:33:32):
Account you, know we are getting out everything we can
to let everybody know the work that we are. Doing
so it is very positive for us to share the
work we're doing, openly because if we, don't no one
knows what we're. Doing they look at us and, say
what IS da doing, Today, well.

Speaker 11 (01:33:45):
We're out, there in fact proven it every day post non.

Speaker 10 (01:33:49):
Act making, interviews doing everything we can to let The
american public know that we are here to Serve americans.

Speaker 11 (01:33:55):
And to get that information.

Speaker 10 (01:33:56):
Out and in, fact IF i can have a moment
of your, time we want to tell you about a
phone call we received today from one of the residents
within that. Area this gentleman took time out of his
day to locate our number to contact, us and we
have a message to say how thankful he was for
the work that we had done in that. Community he
was terrorized within his own, community afraid for himself and
fred for his, family and afraid for others to even

(01:34:18):
walk across the street to the seven eleven because of
this club's. Activity, now because of the efforts OF da
and it's partner, agencies this gentleman is, family his loved
ones around in that community to traverse that neighborhood without
fear because we've eliminated that. Threat and that is.

Speaker 11 (01:34:33):
Such a powerful impact for us on this side to
know that we have made.

Speaker 4 (01:34:36):
A difference the owner of the building or the. Facility
he says he had no idea this was going. On
is That even one of my texters, said how is that?
Possible how is it possible that this guy had no
idea this was going?

Speaker 11 (01:34:49):
On, YEAH i would wonder that.

Speaker 10 (01:34:51):
Myself with everything that we had, LEARNED i find it
hard to believe that he did not.

Speaker 4 (01:34:56):
Know, well you, KNOW i appreciate what you guys are.
DOING i look forward to seeing what's going to happen.
Next and it's not THAT i believe that we are
a state just overrun by, criminals BUT i think me
and everyone else who lives here as a law abiding
citizen is happy when at least some criminals are taken
off the. Streets what happens to the people that were

(01:35:18):
taken or arrested by?

Speaker 5 (01:35:19):
Ice do you?

Speaker 10 (01:35:20):
Know they will be moved through THE ice processes and
they will make their own determinations and what to do
with those people that have a status to. Stay AS
i said, EARLIER i used to take it in one
hundred and fifteen.

Speaker 5 (01:35:31):
People to be.

Speaker 11 (01:35:32):
Detained of, that so far as my, knowledge one hundred
and five.

Speaker 10 (01:35:35):
Is the new. Number so ten people have been released
due to legal. Status, okay, well they will to work
through their own processes to make a determination how to move.

Speaker 4 (01:35:43):
Forward one texter asked this, question and it's a good.
One why were The Postal service and the irs? There
did that have to do with liquor being sold and
not taxed? Properly what was their role?

Speaker 11 (01:35:54):
There, well it wouldn't have to do with.

Speaker 10 (01:35:57):
LIQUOR i could tell you, that But it definitely has
to do with part of the ongoing. Investigation and again
as the arkansack of that, investigation look at the different
agencies that are, there as you made Mentioned United States
Pulls Inspection SERVICE E R, O HSI FDI i R,
s they all have a role to. Play they all
have a unique talent that they bring to the, investigation
and we're going to happen to each of those talents
to make sure that we can peel back every layer

(01:36:20):
of every co conspirator and bring them the.

Speaker 4 (01:36:22):
JUSTICE i like the way that, sounds AND i appreciate
the work that you guys are doing out, there And
i'm glad you had time to come on and talk
to me about. It this Is Assistant Special agent In
Charge James troop with THE Dea Rocky Mountain. Division thank
you so, Much Agents. Troop we appreciate your time.

Speaker 10 (01:36:37):
Today thank, You, mandy and, again if you can follow.

Speaker 11 (01:36:40):
Us A Dea rocky MT N D I v ON,
x it would be greatly.

Speaker 4 (01:36:45):
Appreciated That's Stephan tubbs in the. Background tell Them i'll do.

Speaker 11 (01:36:49):
It thank, You.

Speaker 10 (01:36:51):
Mandy all, right Thanks.

Speaker 4 (01:36:52):
Agent, streep appreciate. You you, know gott to follow THE
da On, Twitter Ryan edwards.

Speaker 5 (01:36:58):
Important it, IS i.

Speaker 4 (01:37:00):
DO i already follow them On, twitter so that's.

Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
Fine it's.

Speaker 4 (01:37:02):
Fine so we were talking earlier in the, show lots
of interesting sort of side stories out of this draft
that have nothing to do with player. Ability, indeed, INDEED
i mean they're JUST i DON'T i don't recall any
draft having the drama that we saw Around Shadoor. Sanders
and you, know we were talking about this, earlier And
i'd love to get your thoughts on, It like in my,

(01:37:23):
mind if you're geared like, me if you're wired like,
me And I'm Shedar sanders right, now this minute in,
Time i'm watching every bit of offensive TAPE i can
get From Cleveland, browns and WHEN i walk into training,
Camp i'm gonna know every single, play even IF i
don't know what it's. Called i'm gonna know every single
play before that playbook hits my. Hands but that's just.

Speaker 6 (01:37:40):
Me, NO i think that's exactly the right way, to you,
know put your head, down go to, work prove to
everybody that you're not just some guy that's out there
for flash and for. Presentation, YEAH i mean we've seen quarterbacks.
SLIDE i mean Famously Aaron rodgers On night, one but
he still went To night. One Gino smith went today.
Too there was a one that comes to. MIND i
Think I'm Malik willis a few years. Ago was a
little bit later, on but again we nothing like, this

(01:38:03):
nothing like.

Speaker 4 (01:38:03):
This this was like a statement. Passover it really. WAS
i mean it was a.

Speaker 5 (01:38:08):
Message and then you get to the fifth. Round, YEAH i,
mean where.

Speaker 4 (01:38:13):
Money for a fifth. Rounder it's not not near his car.
Payment he's not.

Speaker 5 (01:38:18):
WELL i mean he made more in.

Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
College let's put it that.

Speaker 5 (01:38:20):
Way he made way more in. COLLEGE i was.

Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
Kind of surprised that by round four they weren't talking
about pulling him out and having play another. YEAR i
saw somebody say he should not only play another, year
he should play for somebody else other than his.

Speaker 6 (01:38:32):
Dad, well and then there's the possibility of if not,
that then if, saying, hey telling TEAMS i don't want
to be, drafted let me go, undrafted and THEN i
get to choose Where i'm going to, go because he
would be a highly sought after college free agent at that.

Speaker 5 (01:38:46):
Point BUT i think there's a certain amount of.

Speaker 6 (01:38:50):
Moving past, it, right AND i think for, them eventually
they just want to like move past this entire. Thing,
Hey i'm, Drafted i'm on a. Team i'm going to
see WHAT i can do. There they have five, quarterbacks
so it's not to be an easy, path but they're.
Not they're not like five oh my. God like they
had their franchise, Guy Joe flaco's, Forty Joe flacco's, Forty Kenny,
pickett he's an a one year. Deals that Was Joe,

(01:39:12):
Flacco Deshaun watson they want to move on from as
fast as. Possible and Then Dylan gabriels ahead of, him
which again was also weird that he had drafted ahead Of.
Sanders there's nothing About. Dylan this league drafts on, traits
and there's nothing traits wise About Dylan gabriel that beats
out shod Or, standers so that part is.

Speaker 5 (01:39:28):
WEIRD i heard a.

Speaker 4 (01:39:29):
Super interesting take AND i cannot remember the guy who
said it because it was ON ax and WHEN i
went to share, it it refreshed and it was gone,
forever SO i have no idea what it. Was but
he said he thinks set right now in, college all
of the powers with the college. Athletes you got the,
portal you got name and, likeness they have an just
an incredible amount of power for the for the game in.

(01:39:51):
College and this might be the NFL's way of putting
every athlete on. Notice it's not like that in THE.
Nfl you don't get to tell people they have to
change their scheme or their culture or. Whatever and you've
got to play the, game meaning come to the, combine
play in The Senior, bowl dance monkey. Dance that's the
reality of getting drafted in THE. Nfl and it was
like a reiteration to any players coming, up like we're

(01:40:13):
not Gonna we're not gonna put up with your tom.
Foolery and in all, honesty it's like reminiscent Of Russell
wilson rolling in here with his. Posse, yeah you, know
in a disruptive, way without the talent to necessarily back it.

Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
Up but he had at least a better. Resume yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:40:29):
Exactly he had a record that you could reflect, on and.

Speaker 6 (01:40:32):
He had a resume to back up some of the
reasons and things he. Requested but, YEAH i, mean you're
you're absolute. Right at least for Shod Door sanders and
for a lot of these players coming into THE, nfl
you're gonna have to do.

Speaker 5 (01:40:41):
More you have to be. More you're not gonna be
able to rest on.

Speaker 6 (01:40:45):
WHATEVER i, mean Even Quinn, yours who WENT i think
the seventh or sixth or seventh, round like very into the.
Draft it's A i, mean there was a year ago
we were talking about him as a maybe a first round.

Speaker 5 (01:40:54):
Quarterback and he's didn't have a terrible season Of.

Speaker 6 (01:40:57):
Texas he got heard at some point AND i mean
he's but he's still made the college Football, playoff like
he's still like one of the elite, programs and he
didn't go to the end of the, draft and he's
seen as a guy that's not problematic or anything like.
That so it's a fascinating spot for SHADOR i certainly
hope that it is maybe a little bit of a
wake up, call, yep for, him AND i hope he

(01:41:19):
can find. Success the problem is is that The Cleveland
browns have not really been an organization has done great with,
quarterbacks and that is going to be.

Speaker 5 (01:41:26):
Working that is one of the things.

Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
Though it's, Like, okay if you show up, right here's the.
Thing he's got to answer the knocks on his work.
Ethic he's got to answer the knocks on his. Ego
he's got to answer the knocks on a lot of
stuff that don't have to do with his. Gameplay, Right
so imagine he comes into a terrible franchise in The Cleveland,
browns but he comes in, Prepared he comes in, humble
he comes in ready to get the work. Done that's
going to help him if at some point he does

(01:41:51):
get cut loose and he ends up looking for a.
Job there's a lot he can, prove even in a failing.
Franchise And i've got to tell, You i'm rooting for.
Him he may be an arrogant. Fool he's, young he's.
Stupid we were all stupid when we were. YOUNG i
want him to bounce. BACK i want him to prove
the hater's. WRONG i want him to like work his

(01:42:11):
butt off and be. Somebody it was such a horrible,
humiliation it really.

Speaker 1 (01:42:17):
Was.

Speaker 6 (01:42:17):
NO i agree with, you AND i think it goes
to a bigger point about how so much of life
in general is about, mindset.

Speaker 5 (01:42:24):
Yep and it is about work. Ethic it's about.

Speaker 6 (01:42:26):
Mindset it's about understanding that you're not always going to
get what you. Want, but as The Rolling stones would,
say correct what you.
