NATALIE TENNANT WANTS HER SIDE OF THE DRAMA OUT The stupid kerfuffle (the LATEST stupid kerfuffle anyway) involves a podcaster who made Dave Williams feel scared with his threatening text messages, but instead of keeping the attention on the person who actually did something the Colorado GOP made it about completely different people, including Natalie Tennant. They have been smearing her in the process and she wants to come on and set the record straight. She's on at 2:30 to defend herself from the lies.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining me on the phone to.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Dedicated Republicans who are trying, like the Dickens to just
bring some sanity back to the Republican Party in Colorado.
Natalie Tennant and Todd Watkins, welcome back to the show.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Thank you for having me Andy, I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I want to start with you, Natalie, because and if
you can kind of lay out the story and then
we'll get to where they sucked Todd into the situation
as well. But give my listeners kind of that thumbnail
sketch of what this latest drama is.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah. Well, I'll unpack it the best that I can
and as quick as I can, because there is a
lot to unfold with this. As we know, it's been going.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
On since the summer when Todd Nancy Palazzi, who are
named in.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
A bunch of this, made a call to hold a
meeting to.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Question and possibly remove Davil Young does a chair. My opinion, and.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
My opinion, they did it within the bylaws. I followed
this very detailed. So with that being said, we are
fast forward. We are here now. I follow things tremendously.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I like to be in the know, I like to
be educated, and I like to try to go to
the source. So when I seen that there was a commissioner,
I'm Wild County, I'm not Douglas County.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
That stepped down.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
And then there became a controversy that Dave Williams had
sent out an email letter.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Going at Steve Pax. So I was like, wait a minute,
what is going on?

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Why is it his responsibility as a county chair to
replace it?

Speaker 5 (01:33):
Anyways, I reached.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Out to Steve directly because I wanted to understand. It
didn't make sense to me the process right.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
So we had a conversation about the process.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
He had stated that he was going to put out
a video just to explain himself, and I said, okay,
I said, would you like to do a Twitter space
X space and he's agreed, So.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
I threw it together. I asked britt A Horn if
she would help post it with me, and she said yes.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
And so the topic of this space was what happened
in Douglas County. I wanted to educate myself and followers
for number Surrender what happened?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Who was supposed to do this? Because back up a
little bit Election night and helping care ballots for Dan Wug,
I kept refreshing through the Secretary of State website. The
Steve Dan's numbers went up during this time, I realized
that there were actually eighteen seats.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Mandy that had zero Republican running for them. So I
kind of felt it was a little hypocritical that Dave
is going to accuse Steve for doing something that he
actually did.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, let me clarify one thing, and the core of
this is that Laura Thomas steps down from the Douglas
County Commission, Steve Peck declines to, you know, have a
vacancy committee because Kevin Devi and Wigol had already been
elected to take her place anyway, and it was kind
of assumed that Kevin would just be elevated to that position.

(03:01):
So that is my impression about why Steve chose not
to have a vacancy committee and go through that whole
process and then skipping forward. You guys have this Twitter
space to talk about it, right, So that's where we
are correct.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Correct, that was the time that is hypocrisy. We titled
it that because it is, But I wanted to the
reason for the space was not to attack.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
The state Party at all. It was to talk about
this topic and that's how it started. It did.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I introduced him, We spoke about it, and here first
and foremost, it's.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
A public forum.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
People can join it across the world. And there was nothing.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Bad about this call, right people.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
All they have to do is actually go listen to it.
If you have a logical brain, you can go listen
to it.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Not once was their agitation.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
I think I probably had the loudest tone because that's
how I talk when I get excited about things.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
So there was it was a perfect.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Call, and.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
It was. It was so in that once.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
We began, Steve had the platform.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
He explained herself.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
People ask questions, Well, somebody.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Had stated that Hope was on, and I did. By
no means am I a fan. Everybody is very I've
never shied from that. I don't agree with them.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
And I had a second to be like, no, we're
going to bring her on. Absolutely, I stand firm on
the first amendment.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
She was there.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
I invited her to speak, and she did, and if anything.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
She dominated her and I dominated the conversation. I believe
we spoke the most during this call. So we unpacked.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
She opened the door to have conversations about other things.
People thanked her for being on Hope.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Is the vice president, Yeah, I hope, I hope Chepleman
is the vice president of the Collorado the tip Yeah,
I chair.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
So I needed to bring that. So she was on
the call.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
You guys had a great call. What happened next, So towards.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
The end of the call, I want to say, it's
like a hundred and like an hour and.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Twenty something in, a gentleman by the name of Anthony
Chavez had.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Asked the question. He was under the handle of Skin
in the Game and he asked the question.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
I brought up the topic of who runs the State
GOP's Twitter, who runs that account?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Because they're not very classy in their responses and their comments.
I've been attacked numerous times by them. They think I'm
a boot licker and I'm paid by the establishment. Mandy,
I haven't had a job.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
In three years and I haven't taken a penny for anything.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
So we brought that topic up. This gentleman started.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Pushing, you know, he was very persistent.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
About who's in charge of Dave.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
And then committee woman Christy Fedora had said she wanted
to answer that question, and so that conversation happened. It
was a few moments she dominated that conversation. He just
kept asking there has to be somebody.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
That Dave has to answer to. That was the question.
That's forward. We get through the call, Hope agrees to
come back on again.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
We've opened that door again. Let's continue the conversations because Mandy,
if we don't talk about it and we don't.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Fix it, how can.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
We move forward. We have to move forward.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
We can't keep doing this. So the call ends. It
was just shy of two hours. What actually happened immediately
after we ended the space.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I'm going to give Dave the credit because he is
the chairman. He attacked me. They never surrender account.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
He tweeted and attacked things of I don't have it
in front of me right now, but anybody could go
back and look, because it's still there that I'm paid,
I'm a paid operative or again his words that I'm
being paid by somebody on the inside of this to agitate,
and there was a little tit for tat. So if
anybody agitated anything immediately after the.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Call, it was actually Dave.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
So ten plus hours later the next morning, at seven
twenty thirty something, this gentleman chooses his own free will
to attack the party first and foremost. I do not
condone this.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
And you're talking.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
About the podcast or who made some very threatening text messages.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
They did cross the line.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
But I don't know anybody who hasn't said that this
podcast crossed the line. But it was a podcaster acting
independently of you guys.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Absolutely, I don't know him personally.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I don't recall ever being in spaces or public or
anything with him. From what I've understand and since is
maybe he has as far as I'm understanding from Britain now.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
That he did help us cure ballots for Dan Wug.
He apparently was helpful on several campaigns. I don't I
did not know.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
This, and I don't know him personally. So for Dave
Williams to state, matter of factly on a podcast that
I am an ally of this gentleman is a lie.
It is a flat lie.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I don't know him. I've never personally been around him.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
I don't know who this man is. So again, loud
and clear, I don't condone this. It is horrific. He
has been blocked for my platforms. He will not be
included in any spaces that we do going forward. I
know we don't do that.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
That's not how we act. So he that's for him
to deal with. But to associate with him, with me
or to blame, never surrender me and or.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Any of the people named in this.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
It blows my mind, Mandy, It really does, because there
was it was a perfect It was a perfect cause.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Here's the thing, and this is so low to do
with you, Natalie, and everything to do with the character
of Dave Williams. He is determined to paint himself as
the victim, and instead of talking about the things that
Coloraden's really care about and how to win races going
forward and increase the gains that we had in spite
of him in this last election cycle, he wants to
spend his time, effort, and money attacking Republicans. Now I

(09:19):
want to bring Todd into this because I want to
make sure we cover as much as we can before
we run out of time. Todd, you were part of
the team that I think rightfully held a meeting to
unseat Dave Williams. But now you've been dragged in, dragged
back into this mess.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
What is your role here?

Speaker 5 (09:36):
What Natalie said, Yeah, in that call, I was an
attendee on the call. I commented earlier in that call
that I thought Steve Peck used, you know, good kind
of battlefield decision making and not captaining the resources and
the personnel at the Douglas County Sense Committee. That's who

(10:00):
the vacancy committee was, the whole county central committee to
appoint the guy that just won the election, that was
going to take that seat in January anyway, and that
apparently my understanding is that police said he would appoint him. Yeah,
so that's really where I think I think Dave is
upset and some of the other people at Harefield was

(10:22):
on there. He's the vice chairman of the Douglas County
Republican Party. Is that uh they gave they gave Polus
a win? I mean, did he pointed a Republican?

Speaker 2 (10:34):
A Republican who already won the seat. That's why this
is also stupid.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
It was going to be vacant for I think four
and a half weeks.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
That's not right, not even well, I mean Laura did
step down a little bit earlier, so yeah, four and
a half weeks.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Right, So I think my my take on this is
Dave wanted a reason to throw a rocket Steve Peck
because Deepec sided with us on removal date and Hope
and and Natalie. So he's taken every opportunity he can
to draw blood from any and all of us. And
he's not wasting any time or certainly any credibility or

(11:10):
character to do it at all costs.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Here's the thing from my perspective, and I am not
a part of inside party politics at all. From the
outside looking in, the Dave loyalists, those people who somehow
believe this man is good for the party will think
you're horrible people.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
But I talk to Republicans.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
All the time who are horrified by the leadership of
the Republican Party, and I think overwhelmingly they understand that
you guys are just being targeted because there's no positive
message to sell right now. Right he should be focusing
on the issues for the next election cycle, but instead
he's wasting a ton of money. Have you seen the

(11:52):
late I mean, the latest is what is it? The
Anti corruption committee at the Colorado GOP.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
It's absurd that's aimed at me.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Oh god, I thought my name.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
On that right. The things that me and Nancy Pelozzi
and Eli Bremmers just for the record for your listeners.
Nancy Pelozzi is the chairwoman of the Jefferson County Republican Party.
I am the vice chairman of the El Paso County
Republican Party. Eli is I think he will. He's a
precinct leader down here in El Paso County now. But yeah,

(12:22):
we started a civil war and we level levied a
lawfair against the party. That's which is comical, right, because
we followed the bylaws. We did exactly what we what
the bylaws said to do for to hold a vote
to remove an officer of the state party. And the
lawfair has been waged by Dave. Dave's the one that
took this to court. Dave's the one that asked the

(12:44):
courts to intervene. And now Dave is going back to
the courts now he hired this whoever this attorney is
of Matt Arnold. I haven't heard a lot positive about
this guy. To yeah, to an anti corruption committee. What
authority do these people think that they have They're going
to investigate.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Under what authority exactly?

Speaker 2 (13:07):
And the thing that gets me is that they are
going to push more and more people out of the
party and they're going to be left to rein over
their little pile.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Of ashes, and then when everything goes to hell.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
In a handbasket in Colorado, they're going to blame somebody who.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Isn't there anymore for their problems.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
I just got a text message and said, Mandy, this
is Kathleen Chandler. She just got elected to the RTD board.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
She said, Dave.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Williams used my name on his success email. Not once
did he ever connect with me. I wrote a letter
back and was rebuked by Darcy, one of his staff,
for saying, don't use my name in your success email.
Here's my question for both of you. First of all,
don't let this as I like to say, you know,
when someone comes at me, I'm like, you know what,

(13:52):
I've been called worse by Better, and I feel like
this is the situation for you, guys. You've been called
worse by Better, and I hope that you don't let
this drive you out of the party, and that I
hope that people begin to see that the current leadership
of the Colorado GOP is way more concerned with stupid,
petty backbiting for their own party members than they are

(14:13):
in winning races going forward in Colorado.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
See here though he has.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
An expiration date on his chairmanship. It's March. There's going
to be an organizational meeting in March to elect new officers.
I don't think the tee les are leaning in his
favor here, so for him to embark upon all of
these you know, retaining attorneys beings rather questionable at best.

(14:41):
How much is he committing a party resources to do
this and what's he going to leave the next you know,
the next regime. Probably as little as he can leave.
He's probably trying to kind of burn this down on
his way out now.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Honestly, if the Democrats wanted to plant a plan to
destroy the Colorado Republican Party, you could not have found
a better person out of Central Casting than they have
in Dave Williams.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
He is going to destroy it.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
It's almost it's almost so, it's almost too obvious to
be true.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
It is I, Natalie Tenant and Todd Watkins, keep fighting
the good fight. I'm sorry that you are now in
the crosshairs, but trust me, you're in great company. And
more and more people are getting tired of the nonsense
coming out of this party instead of real ideas to
help Colorado move forward. And I appreciate you guys both
being on the show with me today.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
Thanks. Never surrender means never, it will always mean.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Never, and we won't surrender. We the people are done.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
We're done with this.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
And for Todd, I don't know how much time we have,
but Todd didn't even bring.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Up what happened to him today, that he's out in
a public place minding his own business and.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
He has some in Do you want to talk about
that time?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
We're at a time and we're we're at Yeah, we're
out of time, guys, But I know that Todd, you
were accosted at the gym.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
I guess, Oh yeah, it's one of Dave's cult members.
And Vicky's down here. What a therapy I know her. Well, well,
it's just irritating, well that he's inciting anything at them.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Well, we'll talk about this again as we move towards
that meeting in March, because I think I'm going to
start a petition for Republicans to sign that if he
or any of his minions get reelected, they're going to
leave the party. So let's see what we can do there, guys.
Thanks for your time today.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Thank you Mandy
