Speaker 2 (00:55):
Flying at the door with motivational quotes on horses. It
has been two this morning. I can't remember what the
first one was.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's space week here at fact of the day.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Influenced by a recent you've been through coy about this
recent he's mysterious, he's a mystery. Will you be revealing
more about this mystery trip You're damn right, Okay, sill
a little sausage, stay two little space sausage. Will you
beg space sausage today.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
What you're a big space sausage. Ah, you're a big
space sausage.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Today.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Is about the smell of space.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Oh, the different horomas you would smell in space, because
smeller and jasmin.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
What a wonderful combination. Oh, it's gonna be sweet. It's
going to be French peer, I reckon.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
So in space if you're both just shut your faces
for a moment, I will explain to you. And a
vacuum period time of the mother is at you said,
Remember that. I bet people still say it all the time,
just not your echo chamber of left wing libtai right
right right.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Us here at the old right. Not afraid to say it, Yeah,
not afraid to say it. Call out a woman for
hermod's on a period.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And a man too nice working with you anyway, we're
having fun here. The smell of smell doesn't work in
a vacuum like sound. Sound doesn't travel in a bit
if you start it in your suit and your suit
you're not in the vacuum. You're in a pressure environment chamber.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
But in space it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
But when you've been out on a space walk and
you go back into the International Space Station or what.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Do you smell? You can you can smell the environment
you've just been in. It would be like being outside
when the is a fire and you go inside. You
couldn't smell it outside, but then you get inside, you
can in a kitchen and you can smell the oil
on your clothes. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah, so they've done some because basically fragrance is just
basically a mix of chemicals, and it's how you're olfactory
sensors is the smell sensors, the aroma perception sensors breaks
it down. So what they do is they get a
mix of these exact chemicals and then they put them
together and like this is what space smells like. The
milky Way yep, smells of rum, raspberries and booze.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
What what the milky way?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
You know, if you look up into the sky and
you and see the milky way there broken down what
it's made of, and it's packed full of a chemical
nine as ethyl format, which has a couple of intriguing properties.
It's responsible for giving raspberries their flavor yum and rumm.
It's smell.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
I quite like the smell of rum. It's a nice smell.
Nice to impact.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Do you think that the Milky Way could have just
sucked up a pirate ship back in the day, and
that's why it's raspberry meditation.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Nope, I don't think so. I think you're being replaced.
Explain that. I think you're being ridiculous. Ah, wow, someone's
on their period. Who's been to the Milky Way? Here
not born, I'll tell you that right now.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
That's reached out to meager ingredients to recreate the odor
for training simulations. It brings back atmosphere examples of the Moon.
For example, they did the smell of the Moon, they said,
and they compared it to gunpowder, and that all checks
out because things found on the Moon no atmosphere, but
just the space of the moon the chemical formula, like space.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Rock or dust from the moon landing. Yes, give that
a sniff. I never thought about it.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Fat sniffed because I smelled because I just imagine, you know,
like your sniff pum us.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah, it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Really have a smell once you leave the galaxy. Apparently
there's dark pockets of the universe. Some smell a sweet
sugar and the other of a rotten egg stench of sulfur.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
As that's quite present in the galaxy.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
And if you went on for a space walk in
the International Space Station and you come back, and often
you would smell burnt or fried steak, cooked meat with
an egg, fried egg as well with it, or a
red Wine Jew sort of situation with a graton.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
More of a red Win Jew right on, lovely pathetic graton. Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
And then you get back to the International Space that
you can get inside and then you can't have a
a dehydrated milk mold up yogurt pouch.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah. So today's fact of the day the day, by
the way, liked this, yeah, really good from you, thank you,
is

Speaker 2 (05:25):
That the Milky Way smells of rum, raspberries and booze.
