local drive home on the Gold Coast.

Absolutely and in moments like this that's probably the best
thing that we can be. Because there's been an interesting
report of a police incident done at Tweed City. Now
we've got Lucy from the newsroom in with us. Now, Lucy,
what do we know so far?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Yeah, this is quite frightening. Actually, it's understood a man
was attacked with an axe the Tweed City shopping center
along Mnjung will drive there around three point thirty this afternoon.
We've got reports that the attacker is still on the
run so police have not been able to find that
attacker yet. Images coming through lots of police New South
Wales police forming the area, parts of the shoppings that

have been cordoned off. We've just spoken to New Southwales's
ambulance as well. Paramedics have transported the victim to the
Gold Coast University Hospital. The victim has an injury to
his face, an axe injury. They have not been able
to provide the condition of the victim, but we will
bring updates as they come to hand. I guess all
unfolding at the moment. It is.

She's at the scene, so we're going to cross to
her in a moment as well. Quite frightening obviously, Trev.

Yeah, my kids were down there at the moment, so
I've just been getting in contact with them just to
chill out. So if you're out there and you've got
your kids down there, yeah, just look out for them.
Just tell them to sit safe.

you know, we can just chill out and hang out
with your mates, yep, and just yeah, just relax.

Has been apprehended, yes, taken into custoding, but we'll keep

recapping that as well. There's been an attack it's on someone,
a male Tweed City Mall and it is that person
is now being transported to the Googos University Hospital with
an injury to their face and apparently police and ambulance
in the area at the moment a
