Speaker 1 (00:00):
So this morning I was at some shops and there
was a lady standing next to me and she was
of an elderly nature, and she had a gift card
and she was trying.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
To use her gift card. Now it was.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Fifty dollars, and she said, and I said, I'll help
you with it. So we were running it through the
machine and then I peeled off the pin number at
the back and so I saw the pin number and
I was running it through the machine again and I
put in the pin number and it came up as
de cliented. So then I went, are you sure that
you haven't possibly thought that it's expired? And she was

(00:39):
like no, no, no, no no, And I did it
again and declined again, and then she was getting frustrated
by this stage, and I was getting a little frustrated too,
and I said, it's okay, don't worry about it, and
she goes, you know what, just throw it in the bin.
I hate it when people give you a gift cards.
In some places you can't use them, and some just
put it in the bin. And I said, look, I

(01:00):
can try to register it for you. Got my phone out,
was trying to put it in like the card number
came up. It was actually a current card. So I
was like trying to do everything I possibly could. She said, no, no, no,
I've had enough. Just pay for it with my other card,
and off she went. So then she left it on
the counter and I was like, okay, cool, and I
just picked it up and.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Just put it in a put in my wallet.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Heck what why?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
She said, throw it out?

Speaker 3 (01:32):
So throw it out.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
So I put it in my wallet. It doesn't work.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I would you put something in you?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Well, I registered.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
It and it works.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
So you've got to go finder.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Ah.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
It's one of those ones, you know how. You can
only spend it in certain shops. Okay, So what she
thought was could be used anywhere. She can only use
in places like Rebel Cotton on a sauce, Cookye Dotty
Dimix style Runner H and Ham.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
So you got her address and details and stuff. You
just got to track it down. That's easy.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
What's it's in my wallet at the moment.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
You just have to try and track her down. They
have any way of tracing it.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Maybe maybe not, she said, she said, throw it in
the bin.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I said, I will.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Via my wallet.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Am I going to help? I can't.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
I can't spend it, but she said, throw it in
the bin. I don't want it, she said, I don't
want it. She didn't want it. It's being the gift
card that's in my purse, that's now registered and activated.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
It's not in the bin, though, is it.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Technically No, she doesn't know that it's functioning.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Exactly, and she pretty much she doesn't, she said, and
then it went where in my wallet?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
She doesn't know that it works.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Now, you know these microphones work?

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Yes, that's right.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Well she knows how to call it.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
What would you do? What would you do in this situation?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
What are your morals telling you? That's it? That's all
I needed.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
What would you have done?

Speaker 6 (03:43):
Cat from pub Bait, I would do exactly what you did.
I would put it in my.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Wallet, because she said put it in the bin.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
But she said she didn't want it, and she couldn't
be bothered, you know, taking the time maybe to do
what you did and activate it. Well, that's just her lot.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
She was old though.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Maybe she couldn't do it. Yeah, maybe she couldn't read.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Well, you know, Moya was there to help her as
much as she couldn't. She was prepared to help her
even more.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
She didn't want her.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
She is just like that. I don't want it.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Thank you, very smart, shouting from Ready Kraig.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Moral dilemma. What should Moira do?

Speaker 6 (04:32):
Moisy, you did everything to help that lady. That is
your reward for helping her. It's not your fault, she said,
get rid of it.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
It would have accidentally fallen.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
Into my purse and find to keep it it.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
Wow, Okay, she would have grown it in the bin.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
She would have what's the difference exactly?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Just know we need Morris perse the bin.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
It's like when you find money on the floor and yeah,
you look around anybody looking.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
You look around anyone, then you go to pick it up.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
And then you walk up.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Moira. If you have got her details, the ladies detailed
her name and her phone number, my advice would be
you need to ring her and let her know what
you've done, because she still may give it to you.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Yes, because you're.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
So honest to contact her. But I think that's the
honest thing.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yes, it is Helen, Yes, Helen my conscience, Helen.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Yes, yes, here are sitting on your shoulder.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Girl.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yes, I do have other person. He's talking to her
and telling the other one to shut out.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I do have access to her name and phone number.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Are you allowed to we? Are I allowed to get
into a personal details and stuff?

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I've got it.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
Yeah, so I should be really excited to hear about
the twenty dollars gift card you found.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, you can only spend the stalls that I love.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
It's the ten dollar gift card that she can buy
a five dollars coffee with.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
To be continued.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Figure out what my conchire, Helen's on my shoulder now and.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, yeah, but cut and shut him away on the
other side, Yeah, on the other.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Side, calling time with Moira and
