A family hired a car, went to Byron and got caught out by Tropical Cyclone Alfred. They couldn't return the car as the airport was closed so decided to drive the hire car to Sydney and was fined $2,000. Moyra and Big Trev opened the lines to find what people thought!

about what's been happening here on the coast with tropical
cyclone Alfred. Now there's a young family, Louise, her name is.
She's pregnant with twins and has a three year old son. Right,
so she and her partner and the one child who's
on the outside, they hired a car from the Gold

Coast Airport and it was Monday to Thursday of last week,
so it was in Byron Bay and it was one
hundred and eighty dollars to hire the car from Monday
to Thursday.

Owl and they couldn't return it to the Gold Coast

were safe in Byron so their flights had been canceled,

so they just decided to drive to Sydney.

But they're not all well, so they're not they were
tourists then, yes, right, so they're going to drive to Sydney.
