Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yesterday we spoke to him. What are we calling the
weather King? The weather King? I'm so sorry, Tony orton
Channel seven, meteorologious and all around good guy. How are
you good?

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Afternoon, guys. I'm still trying my best to live up
to that Weather Royalty tage.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
How all we were expecting a king a crown. Actually
we thought it the game last night. There'd be a
crown and nothing.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
No, maybe by the end of the week if I'm lucky.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
All right, So stupid question. How are we looking, what's
happened and what can we expect in the next set
of twenty four to forty eight hours.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Okay, no significant changes on the track. We're seeing Alfad
doing what we're expecting to do. A few wobbles in
the park here and there that had taken that forecast
track a little bit north and a little bit south,
But essentially we are still expecting that landfall as a
strong category two system, more likely to be into Friday morning,
potentially up to Friday lunchtime. Now still centered around Brisbane,
with those worst conditions pushing right across the Gold Coast,

(00:52):
damaging winds from tonight and then the really nasty stuff
from lunchtime tomorrow through to probably Friday night in terms
of destructive winds, surges, wave, then rain lingering into Saturday,
and we need to watch the flooding after that too.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Okay, what's the best advice for someone who's never lived
through somebody like this before?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Best advice is be alurse but calm, get the information,
Be in touch with people around you, whether that's family,
it's neighbors, a little bit of tiding up around the
house and plan.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Are you in an area that's an issue? Do you
have a storm surge risk? Can you get on the
roads if you need to? Ideally not, but if you
where you are is in a bit of danger, where
would you go and just have a little bit of
food handed in case we lose power for a few days.
Can you survive non perishable food for a couple of
days as well?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I know my next door neighbors go to parents, I
could e. Okay, well, if that's only in desperation.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Make sure there's parrot food.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah, yeah, it over.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
You are the king, he's the thinker, is well tony.
We know you're very very busy, So thank you very
much for your time. We'll probably catch up with you
again tomorrow. This is like Christmas for you, isn't it really?
This is like Black Friday for me.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Uligious miss and Halloween time to shine weather King, all right,
we'll see you the way the King, Channel seven the
News of course. Tony Orden, Mediorologist, thank you for your time.
