that this podcast is recorded.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
On Makeup is My Therapy.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I'm obsessed and I don't even feel guilty about it.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Hello, and welcome to you beauty the podcast for your Face.
I'm am Vernon and I am Sarah Marie, and you
are listening to our show Tried and Tested, where we
put new products, treatments and hacks to the test so
you don't have to unless they're really good.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Thank goodness, because the amount.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Of stuff I have bought to test, which now I
have to.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Do again anyway.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah, and but then you can claim it on text
yea sometime, that's right.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Great? Great.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
So today I am going to be trying a very
new player in the pimple patch game. If you know me,
you know I am riddled with sister acne. Don't look
too close.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
But Tim's great today, Thank you so much. I don't
see any sister technique.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
It's good because I'm about to get my periods. I
can feel it about to it's ready to burst. But
I have been trying a very new product from a
brand that a lot of people love. I want you
to go first. What are you doing today? Testing?
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Testing one to three?
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Get it works.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I have brought in an eyelash curler that may or
may not change your life. My life, yeah, everyone's life,
except for mine because I have eyelash extensions.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
But I mean it could, Okay, it could.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Well, I'm skeptical because I do like my eyelash curler.
I use it all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
All right, let me show you what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
That's not an eyelash curlor.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's like tinker eyelash curls. So this is a mini
eyelash curler. When I say, for like your dolls at home?
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, my baby.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Children. So this ilash.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Have you ever used fake lashes, whether they be individual
or a full set and put them a scar on,
put the lash on, and then your lashes don't quite connect,
or you've used a traditional eyelash curler, and then the
outer corners of your lash I missed, like there's always
I feel like.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
I feel like this is a very directed towards me
because you're looking at my lashes right now, and you
can tell the ones that aren't.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Like on the outer corners. I never get that strong
in my face, can you see it.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
I can see it. I can see it through my
eyelashes that are dropping into my eyes like a camel.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I'm not meaning to, I'm trying to help you with
tinker bells.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
So therefore the eyelashes that don't make it in the
big eyelash cut into eyelash cut game.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
So for example, they've never been curled in their lives.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Because waiting, you know, have this meaning eyelash curler in
your life. This is something that whenever I've brought out,
people are like, what the hell is that thing?
Speaker 1 (03:09):
And I telling you it's only it.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Looks like something a gynocologist should be using.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah, tinker belts gynocologist.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
So like when I have skipped like a week or
so with my lashing fills, even now with eyelash extensions,
on those times when I need to put my scara,
I actually can use this to connect and kind of take.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
It for an extra week.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Instead of me having filmed this at home, I'm going
to throw you in the deep here and do something
a little different.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I cleaned this, but I'm going to.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
You're like, you can't keep looking at your ratchets or
dropping eyelashes.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
No, longer. It's disgusting.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Curl those corners, curl my corner.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yes, we've got to kill your corners today.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
I even think I forget to like put my scar
on them.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Hurt's my soul.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Hearing that I just miss out on it really hurts me.
It really hurts me to hear that. So I'm going
to curl your eyelashes today.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Oh my god, So I I just start seeing things
I've never seen before.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Yeah, I can show you the world vision.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
I want you to curl your one eye okay, I
mean you can do both with your traditional eyelash curler and.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
The other studio with one eye done would be a look.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yeah, it will one hundred percent be a look.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
And then I am going to curl the outer corner. Okay,
so we can see the difference of a traditional lash
curler to get every it literally gets. If you have
the shortest eyelashes.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
This should get them.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Interesting. What about like, do you think you could do
your under eyelashes with it? H that too hectic? Oh
you won't need to. They're going they're already going down.
I'm just trying.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
You're like really dedicated to the Okay, you can even
that's interesting.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Do you put mascara after you curl your lashes?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
No, I put it on so I don't have a
scar on this eye because I always get scared that
if I curl my lashes after mascara, they're gonna get
stuck and get pulled off.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh you got to kind of do it like very
lightly and quickly. If you're fast. Yeah, you can rip
lashes out that way people have.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
They've hurled it for too long. It's s dright, and
you've got to do it really like slowly.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
I'm bad with eyes, so scara is something that I've
only recently gotten into. And even like curling my eyelashes
because I get like a.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Bit freaked out. No way.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah, so when you do your mescara, just make sure
you're touching the outer corners.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I can already feel they've never been touched in our life,
so you forget they're they're even the ones that are
like right here, I always forget they're there.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Can I do your mescarase like I'm invading yourself?
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Okay, Okay, I keep my eyes open when.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
I look up down. Okay, if you can. If you
really can't look down, then shut your eyes. It's totally fine.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Do you miss doing this?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
You know what I kind of do, probably why I'm
making you lie.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Wait to now you're gonna curl them after okay.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
So we're gonna leave one.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Okay, we'll leave that so we can see that. Yes,
I can curl it.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
For you later or like we might forget, but let's
just do this out of corner. So you know what,
you can close your eyes okay, because I feel like
that feel lash color.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
It's a bit like intimidating.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
So I'm going to get this out of corner here,
and whatever you do, just don't move because I don't
want to accidentally rip your lashes off.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Oh look, Oh my god, how curly your eyelashes are.
Right now this out of corner.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
I can't look like I really want to really hyping
it up, like I'm really hyping it up, and I'm like, I.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Want to say, open your eyes made okay, can you
look at.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
That out of corner?
Speaker 3 (06:41):
That is crazy, Like my lashes have never looked like this.
That's weird. Can I do your other side? I didn't
belave it, but I'm like, oh my god, this is
so crazy those lashes. I didn't even know I had,
Like I actually didn't know I had those lashes so curly.
I cannot feel them, Like I can always feel them
(07:01):
on the side of my eyes, and now I can't
feel them. I find it.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Around your whole lash.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Probably the top will curl too much, yeah, because like
you have like such long touch my eyebrows, but these ones, it's.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Probably all you need to do. Like I worked so
well on you. That's crazy, so good. Just be careful blinking.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
So I knew this was going to be a nail
because this particular lash curler I've had for maybe ten
years and I used it on every single client. And
at the time, this brand, I don't even know what
the brand is anymore. I can't remember with the only
brand that sold this, I don't think they're around anymore
because they only sold this earlish curler. But you can
get them from like Modern Rock for fifteen okay, you
(07:42):
know Moner Rock lashes sell them.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
You can get it online.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
But yeah, they are a must have because they're so
like humm, they're worth every penny.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
I'm literally at Timeline cat. This is insane.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Oh my god, a nail you're glowing. A nail that.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Always a proper nail, because like we got two nails,
like me and you. Yeah, yeah, it was like a
nail for both of us.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Now for both of us.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Okay, So I'm one of those people that will always
sport a pimple patch because I'm always putting my skin first.
I don't care how I look. If I need a
ZiT to go and get sucked up, I would be
wearing a pimple patch at like any event, no matter what.
There are two brands that are like my go to.
They are the Skin Control pimple Patches and the TBH
(08:36):
pimple Patches. I feel like those two are the ones
that like do the most work because I'm also a
bit of a grot and I love seeing all the
crap that it pulls out.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Okay, that would be satisfying.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
So good, and you can see it all come out.
It's just beautifully disgusting. But go To recently have launched
their pimple patches as well, and I was lucky enough
to get some across my desk and I was like,
I'm the only one, I feel like, in this company
that swears by pimple patches, So I definitely want to
try them and they're called spot stoppers. Ah, they're very
(09:09):
They're like in this little box, and you can get
them in a few different sizes. I always use the
biggest ones, embarrassingly, but these are all the sizes, so
it's like a small, medium, big, probably not the biggest
that I would usually go for. I usually love a
really big one.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
We were saying, you get like cystic breakouts, right, so
they can get quite and I.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Can wear them for like days and days off. Really yeah,
so I sometimes all sport a pimple patch for like
three days straight their way, Yeah, because I need it
all out because then if you don't get it all out,
then it just comes back.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
So how about when you wash your face, Like, can
you wash your face with it on and it just stays?
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I will take it off and wash my face and
then put it back on and then do the rest
of my skin catch.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I didn't even realize you could use them like that.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Yeah, it's so good.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
You tually are the pimple patch queen.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I love them so much. So these ones have hydrocolide,
which is what's in all pimple patches. A little hack
also if you find these two price sea like these
ones are about sixteen dollars, but I know not everyone
and can afford like this much skin care. The hydrocoloid
like patches that you just get from the first aid
section in the chemist, or i'd woolies and coals do
(10:19):
the same thing. So you can literally get like a
big strip of large path yeah, and you can like
cut them up on like however you want it, even
with these big pimple patches, if they're too big for
you can even cut these ones up and like put
them on exactly your little pimples that you need. But
these ones also have halosilic acid and tea tree oil
in them. These are the best pimple patches I've ever
worn under makeup. They disappear into your skin. They're so thin,
(10:43):
So the actual patch itself you can tell in the
middle if you look really closely, it has like all
the good stuff in the middle, and then it like
kind of like comes out into this really thin circle
that pretty much is like seamless on your skin.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
You can feel like the sense yeah, or you can
feel the sensors a little a little thicker thicker.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
But what I've noticed with other pimple patches that are
as thick as the center in these ones is that
they'd be thick the whole way through. Yes, so when
you if you do wear them in the day like
under makeup. I know a lot of people just wear
these at night and take them off in the morning.
But if you do wear them under makeup with the ridges,
you can see a little outline with your foundation, these
(11:23):
ones you can't see at all.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
That's so good.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
So it looks like you'll literally have nothing on there
and you just put all your makeup on top and
it's perfect.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Oh, that's really good because I think, like with pimples,
you want to keep them clean. Yeah, but then the
reality of it is like, yeah, if you've got work
or you've got an event or something and you really
need to put your makeup on, you're not going to
feel comfortable without it is you.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Can put these ones.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
So these are really great for the day.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I did wear them at nighttime as well, like most
people do wear pimple patches. I felt like it didn't
take out as much of the gunk as the tarbh
R skin control ones do. So I have been relying
on them during the day. Mostly they still do the job,
like stuff will still come out. You probably just need
to use more than you would with other brands. But
(12:07):
this is a big nail for me as someone who
wears them in the day. There's been so many times
where people haven't seen them and I'm like.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
This is really good nail. You're glowing, nailed it. We've
got another double nail.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
We have another double double nail. Oh my god, mate,
