Spoiler alert: unless you've got a hot glue gun and several hours to spare, despite its 23.8 million views, this hack leaves plenty to be desired.

But all is not lost when Liv reveals her latest K-Beauty obsession which previously broke the internet in Korea - its a blush with that perfect not-too-dewy finish.

On Makeup is my therapy in love.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
I'm obsessed and I don't even feel.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Guilty about it.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Hello and welcome to you beauty, this daily podcast for
your Face.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I am Sarah.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Marie and I am Live and you're listening to Tried
and Tested, the podcast where you put hacks, treatments and
products to the test so you don't have to unless
they're actually good. So today I'm going to tell you,
Sarah Marie about a new product that I've found in
the k beauty world. It has the perfect formula that

(00:54):
is something that you can't really find in any other product.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
But I'm going to tell you about it later.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
What are you going to show me today?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, first, I am going to show you an eyeliner
wing hack I found on TikTok hm. Of course, because
why not all the hacks are on TikTok. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I don't know whether it will add value to any
of our ubi's lives, but I will show you what
I did.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Testing, testing one to three. Did it work?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
I'm going to explain to I actually brought it with me.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Actually, this is like going to be quite useful. Is
it meant to make it easier to do eyeliner?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
So the hack is yes, that I saw. She basically
connects a cotton tip okay to a cut out of
the edge of you know those medical tablet packs. Had
she even come up, she like lose it on, then
puts the eye liner on the foil and then presses
it on like a little stamp.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Okay, okay, yep.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I feel like everyone trying to do a wing liner.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
It's like the pane of everyone's existence is winged liner.
That's even if it suits you, it might not suit you.
That might be why you can't get it to work.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I've never been brave enough to even try because I
just don't. I feel like you have to have a
steady hand, and you do need to steady doing and
practice and I'm like, I can't even dive into that.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
I mean, I have zips. I can share with you
later about how to do it. I'm gonna make up
artist point of view. Okay, that will be, but for today,
this is the video. Let me show this to you
so you have a little bit of a idea.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, Okay, how did she even.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Discover the twenty three point eight million views on this boy?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Oh my, I know. I'm like, what, it's got one
point one million likes, So that's one point one million
people going yeah, I might do that.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah yeah, one hundred and twenty three thousand saves. Damn yeah,
me included. I'm one of those saves.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
But you're helping her out, so.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I gave it a go. What you do?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Oh my god, you've this You really need to watch
this episode. I'm going to explain it here.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
So you cut the side of like a pain relief
like packet, right, like penatle or something.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Oh any yeah, I think it might have been an
antihistamine because amazing a lot. Basically anything any edge of
a packet, they usually kind of have a soft curve
or something, and then like you could just make it
sharp and then you cut the ends of the cotton
tip right, and then you glue this here. Then you're
like stick it on hand. You get to let it

(03:27):
dry and then like use that as little hole that's
to stack.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Like okay, so to put it into words, basically, what
you're doing, you're getting your pill packet and then you're
going to the outer corner and you're cutting off a triangle.
You keep that to the side, right, that's what you've
done just then. And then you're going to get a
que tip, and you want to cut the soft bit

(03:52):
the end of the q tip off both ends. And
then you want to use eye lash glue or I
guess whatever glue you have, right to glue those two
things together to create a makeshift stamp that's all dried
and glued. You want to get the eye liner, in

(04:14):
which you have liquid eyeliner, and you want to paint
the pill packet triangle that is like the stamp on
the end of your queue tip in the eye liner
to create what is now a homemade eye liner stamp

(04:35):
that you'll put on your outer corner and hope for
the best as you use it to create your wing. Yeah,
something that's already green flag. To me, I am trying
to search for a green flag. I'm not gonna lie.
This feels like a lot of effort. But all of
these products are definitely in most people's homes, right, I

(04:55):
would say, except maybe the glue. Yes, if you don't
have lash glue. I mean, look, I'll get there, okay,
I'll get there all right.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I did it straight away so that the product doesn't
dry and stick has already come off. What the F
And now I'm like pressing it in with my finger.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I got my brush and I was like, as a
makeup artist, if I was like, and look how you
just do it with the brush?

Speaker 1 (05:23):
You do it? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
If I reapplied with more product on that brush, I'd
be able to get it much smoother. And I know
I can create this wing myself. Yeah, So I was
trying to just stay true to the video as much
as I could do. You think this hack she's designing
it for people that are a bit they don't know
how to do a wing liner? Like, is it meant
to be easier for people to execute than using their hand?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
It's meant to be okay, right, Yeah, I'll tell you.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Where I think her video is BS where she glues
the stick onto the cutout hadaway the video cuts and
she doesn't mention anything about dry time or whether she
actually did use the lash glue. Okay, right, So what
I found hard this is actually this video you're watching.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
You had to film it four times.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Okay, because I had to. You're a scientist.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I really had to, like, ye, wait for the glue
to dry on this thing, and it's still blood. It
came off like it still came off the applicator. So
the glue with an eyelash glue on this stick, it
doesn't actually hold. Okay, it doesn't hold. So I was like,
this is a hot glue gun job, like.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
You actually need.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, if you did not even like you need a
hot glue gun, then if you have a hot glue
gun at home, you're good, right, I believe this hack.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
If you have a hot glue gun.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Okay, if you're gonna like literally make yourself a stamp properly, yeah, okay,
fair enough, but you're not who's doing that.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
But you can also just buy that. You can also
use tape.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yes, And if you really do want to use a stamp,
you need a hot glugun for this to work, because
that's complete.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
You need to go to Spotlight. Then you need to
go to Mecca. Then you need to have five hours
free time.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
And if you're not like a medicine type person, you're
gonna have to go out and.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Get The thought process of hacks are so insane to me, Like,
especially these kind of ones. I'm like, she must have
just been sitting there and it's like, I'm just gonna
make this.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
I think it's like a great video.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Yeah, I mean as an social producer. Yeah, I'm like,
that's genius. It's so good.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Definitely a fail.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Yeah, damn it, because I feel like eyeliner hacks, at
least an eyeliner in general, those are the videos I
will watch because it's the one thing in my makeup
step or just in makeup in general that I'm like
I cannot I just don't believe that I can do it,
or I don't have the time, or you know all
that kind of stuff. So that would be really helpful.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Well, I think even doing this stamp, you still need
to know where I know where I'm placing the wings.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Like, even though it's a fail, look at how like.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
The positioning of the end after eyeliner is where it's
meant to be positioned, and that would change not different angles, correct,
it changes for different eyes.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Doesn't tell you if you do see the wings.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
It's like a whole other episode. You need to do
a full rundown on this because that's hardly.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Help Yes, Okay, that one hundred percent of running out
of my notes how to do the perfect winged eyeliner.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
It's a fowl, guys.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
But you have to have the fails to have the nails,
you know.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I thought it was fun to try because you get
so stuck in your like routine of you know, the
mundane sometimes.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Thank you for sacrificing your time, abs and a pill packet.
I want to tell you about one of my favorite
new products. It is in the world of K beauty.
Have you tried any K beauty or Korean skincare Japanese skincare?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I feel like you need to wash your mouth out
when you ask me that kind of question. You have
no idea.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Okay, you don't understand, Okay.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
My mother and I are.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
So K beauty obsessed that we have been using it
for years and years and years, and my mom I
was literally just talking about this. My mom went to
Korea and then I build a check in bag.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
She left it empty just for Korea Beauty good.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Because she's just so obsessed with it.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
So I was like, love that you're doing a K
beauty thing right now, because price wise, they're always really good,
so good is generally really good. I have tried somewhere
I'm like, I would never use this myself because you know, like,
for example, a sharplip line is not their thing.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah, because I'm like, no, no, ninety big lips.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yes, they do, like going for a softer baby doll
kind of yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
So I'm excited, yes, about what you have and if
it's a nail.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
It's interesting that you say that about your mum, because
Australians are actually other than like Koreans themselves. We spend
the most money on K beauty out of anyone in
the world, average around like one hundred and forty dollars
a year per person, which is crazy. And in Sydney
K beauty shops are popping up everywhere. There's W Cosmetics.
There's like seven in Sydney and I love.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
Them amazing because we always have to go to Cabra Matta.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
No, there's a shop in Cabra Matter that We're always like,
there's like Korean and Japanese beauty. We go to that shop,
we stock up and we leave. We go to the
fish Market after it's a whole thing we do about
young We do our K beauty.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Then we go to the fish shop and of good
and we go home.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
There we go, Well, keep doing that, but there is
three just up the road, just in case you're ever
in a pinch excited. One product that has totally stolen
my heart is from a brand that is spelled fwee
and it is pronounced free, which is so cute. And
they have this one product that went completely viral in

(10:35):
Korea last year and was impossible to find for a
very very very long time. And it's called the cheek
Blurring Pudding Pot.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I love the name.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
It's so cute. It comes in a little pudding pot
and basically it has this formula that starts as a moose,
but then when you put it on your skin, it
drives down Matt and I really love that because I
don't use like powder products. I don't I like anything
that's basically just not powder. I like glowing and all

(11:04):
that kind of stuff, but sometimes I still want to
be not too dewy, and this blush is per fixed
for that because it dries down with still a little
bit of shine, but it's not too glossy. And you
can use it on your lips, and you can use
it on your cheeks, and you can use it basically anywhere,
Like my hack last week. You'd probably use it on
your eyes everything. So basically what makes it so special

(11:27):
is it's packed full of ingredients. It's got cocoa, cocao butter,
it's got a garbae extract. It has pretty much like
all the good stuff that you can think of. But
what's special about it too, is there thirty five shades.
Thirty five shades, thirty five shades, no, something for everyone,

(11:49):
and it's not too expensive here all the shade My god,
you know when you go to a nail salon and
you look at all the beige, yeah, and then you're like,
they all look the same, but they're not the same.
They're not. That's what they do with their blush. Yes,
and I would recommend that you. I mean, you can
get them online, but if you can try them on
your skin, because they do kind of they look really
different on the skin they do from in the past. Okay,

(12:10):
I have too. The first one is called Baddie, which
is like a rich, plummy kind of pinky like it's
purple as well. And I went to Japan recently, which
is like a whole other thing. Like there's so many
products that I got from Japan, but I brought this
blush and it was perfect for the cold weather which
we're coming into, because it gives you that kind of

(12:32):
like like your cheeks have just been pinched by the
cold a little bit and enhances it. So that was
the first one I got, and then I went back
and I got one called like, which is really good
for I mean, I have quite pale skin and it
is just a watermelon pink. It looks quite natural and
it's perfect for every day.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
I've opened it up here, Yes, found it. It is
completely I that would be lovely for your shade.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
It's it's actually a really lovely yeah. Like you said,
it's a very soft watermelon kind of shade.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Like just like a natural blush for me. And the
biggest win is obviously the formula, like the fact that
it dries down natural and soft. It doesn't seep into
the pores, so it just looks like you've put blurring
filter on your skin, which you do need to make sure.
The only step back is you need to make sure
your skin's moisturized because it will attach itself to any
dry spots that you have, so on your lips especially,

(13:21):
so just make sure you put a balm on before
you put it on. But other than that, it's honestly perfect.
I haven't used another blush since I bought them. Oh
my god, is it you using it today? Or I've
got like on today?

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Oh, you've got it on today?

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Look at that? Yeah, I love how it looks like
I have a little bit of bronzer under. So that's
probably changing a little bit and putting a bit of
a glow in there. But the color is that, and
I just I will never look back.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Yeah, the finish is really lovely.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
I told Lee Campbell about this branded meticular and then
she went on a whole shopping spree because I do
like these crazy foundations where you like push it in
and it comes out and you've got a little pad
and you can push it all over. It's honestly cream,
skincare and beauty. My favorite thing about it is that
they have fun with it too, Like, yeah, the packaging

(14:11):
is really fun and it just is like pretty much
a joy to use.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
They didn't shy away from things being pretty.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
No, they don't, which I think is really important. Also,
like I put in my bathroom, I'm like, oh my gosh,
that's like decor.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Yeah, and it's easy to find. Yeah about trying to
find it's like, oh, it is so true.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Yeah, I love So they cost around sixteen to twenty
eight dollars, which is actually huge like difference. So I
would research online on where to buy them. But that's
the same as like you know, drugstore prices. They're not
too expensive and that's pretty much similar to all products
that are offered in places like w Cosmetics and any
kind of Koream skincare place that you can go to.

(14:50):
So ten out of ten recommend trying it out.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Oh my gosh. So we've got a.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Nail, an absolute nail. Like I will harp on about
this until I don't know, everyone in the world knows
about it. You're glowing. Oh, I love it.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Oh We've got a nail and a fowl today. I'm
glad We've got a nail.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
We need it, We need it.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
We needed the other one so nice.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
I'm literally looking at it right now online and I'm like,
this is a brand I'm going to go through.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
It's so good. I'm a lipstain girl. So because I
you know, i'll put it on in the morning, I'm like,
I need it to last for as long as it
can fe does and a lot of Korean skin care
and make up places do the best lipstains that last longest.
It's it's so good. Oh, I love it. Okay, walking

(15:46):
into places like that, it's like walking into heaven for me, so.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
That it's hard on the bank account, I know, account well.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Thank you so much for listening to this episode. I've
tried and tested.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Tune in again tomorrow for your episode of In Her
Bag with Kelly and I will definitely be back soon,
hopefully if you guys will have me. This is so
much fun.
