PSA: your local Priceline is serving up bronzer that rivals luxury brands, and Wet n Wild is creating cream eyeshadows that costs less than your morning coffee!

On today's Spendy Savey episode, we're proving that sometimes the most impressive products come with the smallest price tags. Leigh's found a $15 bronzer that's giving serious NARS Laguna vibes, while Kelly's obsessing over a $3 cream eyeshadow that's so pigmented it'll make you question every expensive palette you own. We're diving into illuminating makeup-skincare hybrids that create that coveted glass skin effect, whole-body deodorants that are changing the sweaty game, and discovering why Japanese skincare continues to dominate at unbeatable prices.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
On Makeup is my therapy in love. I'm obsessed and
I don't even feel jailty of body. Hello, and welcome
to you, beauty. This is the podcast for your Face.
And I'm Kelly McCarran and I'm Lee Campbell.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
And we might be in your ears if you're listening
to us as a podcast, or you might be watching
us as a podcast on YouTube, in which Kelly's about
to say, we look like we live different lives.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Well, I feel like so many fridays we turn up
to the studio looking like we're going to separate events.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
I'm about to go, I don't know, read a book.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, you're going to read a book and I'm going
for a job interview or to do your taxes again. Yeah,
but you like so hot, it's only a portion of
out Friday. I'm like a busy business beiouch. Yeah, whereas
you are going to read a book. Okay, So on Fridays,
what do we do? We take you through our top
products of the week, which is why it's kind of

(01:14):
perfect to watch us on YouTube if you can, or
just have us in the corner so you can glance
up and we talk about a color.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
If there's one specific product.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
If you're listening as a podcast, but there's one you
want to see more about, we show and touch and
play and put them on ourselves so you can see
what it's all about.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Lee is the mum.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
We're both mums, but the mum of us, so she's
the one that brings the wipes because I said, oh
my god.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
And also have sense three issues all.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Right, So we do one expensive product, one not so
expensive product, something brand new, and then something we've either
shopped our stash off or emptied. I've been finishing so
many things lately. But actually today it's a shop mustache. Anyway,
what's your savor?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, my savor is not that I bought this at
price sign It is the estrallis fresh and flawless bronze
in goat.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I'm so excited by.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yours because usually I spy on them prior because you
put them in the script, but you didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I only put them in at the crack of dawn
this morning because some morning personal well, actually, no, do
you know what happened. I packed last night like a
good girl because we bring them in now. And then
I went to open the bag to do something and
one of them that I'm not bringing here had exploded
all through my beauty bag thoughts and prayers. I need
to go fund me only joking, but I had to

(02:23):
redo my life. And that's fine, because these are the
ones I could rescue. The Estralla's fresh and flawless Bronza
with squalene and hayaleronic acid in the shade goat a
velvety matte bronza that blends seamlessly to define your cheekbones
and add a sun kissed glow. Kelly, I know you're
not normally a powdered bronza, but it gives vibes of
a more expensive it.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Does my ice watch. Oh yes, please swatch your way,
because I'm not.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I love a powdered bronzer, but I'm very fussy with them,
which is why I so often go back to benefit
Huler Bronze, which is their og bronza.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Just because it's in the annoying box.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
It's too small. Oh that's nice, it's really nice, right.
I think it's about fifteen dollars.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
We can't really see it. It's very subtle, it's very blendable.
You could definitely build it up. Yeah, that's a really
good thing.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
And there's a deeper shade as well. But I think
that's good. Do you don't want it to go on
super muddy and dark much.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
At the time of recording, it's forty percent off for
nine dollars and fifty seven cents. I paid full price
fifteen dollars and ninety five cents. It reminds me good
remember my Mecca Max Ride or Die that they change
and it's still good, but not as good. It also
reminds me of nas Laguna because it's soft and buildable.
When they say, Matt it's not chalking. It still got

(03:34):
a creamy like not shimmer, but luminosity to it.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
It doesn't look like powder on your.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
No, it's a beginner Bronza or someone that just doesn't
want to do a whole bunch of conjuring.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I can't believe it's that price.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
If you put that in the ynas or you're you
could even put that into like a what's the powders
that we love that are ten billion dollars by terry.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, yeah, it could be a Bye terry. It's just
a really great bronza. Oh that far, but like it's
so mells like feel it. It's beautiful. Love it, glad
I bought it. Goat love the color of the packaging.
It's very bright and fine.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
I feel like Estralla's's glow up is really worth taking
note of. What's your saving, my friend?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
My savor?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Is this teeny dony little pot. It is the wet
and wild glitter single shadow?

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Is that what's on your eyes? No? Toasty?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
I love whatever in your eyes is so pigmented and.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
User friendly. And guess how much it costs me? Is
it an eye herb? Oh my godfather, look at that pigment?

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Does it have a brownier shade?

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, but it's a cream. Yeah it's a cream, but
it dry toasty. That is like a bronzy, Like that's
an orange bronze and with popper, yes, with like gold
o sugar that in for me and a brown So
that how much was it?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Three dollars and fifty one cents full price? I bought
off two dollars and ninety eight cents. I always has
sales or free shipping. Or like just go, oh my goodness,
I always just wait till I need a bunch of
stuff so I can get free shipping too.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Well, so their snacks are so good everything, Oh my gosh,
they've got the best snack, so you can.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I americlend it out so it's a lot more subtle.
Which so imagine if there was a champagne color on
your cheeks. Oh, that would be like because it's a cream. Yeah,
it might be a bit glittery.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
It's a bit glittery, but that goes to a longer
eye lid for something really easy and simple, I wouldn't
say if you have an exceptionally hooded eye, it might not.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Be for you, because it does it's juicy.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
It's juicy so it takes thirty seconds to a minute
to sort of dry down. So if you close your
eyes too quickly, it's then going to separate.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yes, a lot. You know what I would do though,
a good brush along the lush line and smudge about,
because sometimes I want to do a smudgy liner, but
even my pencil liners aren't smudgy enough or like so
beautiful anyway, I'm just so impressed with it, I.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Promise I'm not stealing it. I'm just keeping it here
so I remember to look for brown after we record.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
There definitely is like a one for you. It's a
Brownie car Ki shape. It's right up your may even
have a white place because I've got glitter everywhere. Well,
I was going to say it's got good staying power
because it's quite hard to get off. Okay, my spendee, please.
I don't really know what it is or how to
use it, but I love it.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I bought it at Mecca because I read a lot
of hype about the brand. The brand is called is Maya,
and then I just went online to research and it
was like sold out, sold out, and I was like, well,
whatever it is, I want it.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I ended up buying probably the shade that's not right
for me, but I'm still on the weight list.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Well, I went into Mecca because I was like, it's
called the is Maya five point Lift.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Oh what is it? An injectible? Is it a It
looks like an injectible like it's about to Oh.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
They call it an illuminating pain that effortlessly sculpts, lifts,
and brinds your face in five key areas. So there's
a multitude of ways you could use it. You're more
kind of adventurous when it comes to makeup. But also
I would assume that you'd need all the different shades
because there's like quite light to really dark, so if
you wanted to do like conjuring and stuff, you can't

(07:00):
all just use the one shade. Sixty dollars. Caffeine reduces puffiness,
so obviously that's for around your eyes, marine bioactives. Like
it's literally that's for the science of fatigue. It's literally
makeup skincare. It's so serum.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Oh that feels beautiful. So it's a tiny bit pink
for my under eyes. But it's a good neutralizer.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
That is perfect neutralizers. And I'm going to pat a
little bit on now me too. Why I don't want
to waste it, that's true, Oh.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Dear too much.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
It's better than when you did your browse in the studio.
Oh that so sixty dollars.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
This brand is quite new to Mecca, and everything's sold out,
so I'm assuming everything's really good. This is quite like
for a mature woman who has creepy under eyes but
wants to and you know, all the ingredients caffeine fatigue,
Like it's really meant for under the eyes. I don't
know the other points they're telling me to use it.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yeah, I wouldn't. I would just save this for the
under eyes. But it feels beautiful, isn't it nice? Oh?

Speaker 2 (07:53):
We have a look at my Oh juicy cis Yeah,
like it's super juicy.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Oh that's gorgeous.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Look that's not enough coverage though, Like I would definitely
still need you don't.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
That's the thing you don't need.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Yeah, I think sometimes I just you think you need it,
but sometimes lovingly you look like your own concealed whereas
that makes you look like a fresh, heavenly baby.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
It slipped sixty dollars. Sixty dollars so expensive, but I reckon.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Like, you know, that's so weird because my spend is
also an undry product, also from Mecca, also sixty dollars.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Exactly did you see me?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
There?

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Are we in weird sink? Yes? Okay, well what's your spending?

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Actually, I don't know if it's also specifically for underry,
but that's what I use it is it is.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
I've talked about it on.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Monday episodes before because I love it so much. It
is the Bobby Brown skin correct a stick. I use
the shade light biss Ye. Now, last year I got
you onto the smash box Underry Potty Putty put in
like a peachy color and it just completely eradicates the
darkness under eyes. It's not beginner friendly and it's a

(09:00):
bit messy. Sometimes I've been reaching for this more than
I reach for that, because it's so easy.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Can I remind you we had a you know, maybe
six months ago. Less someone say I'm going to be
in the hospital. I want to have photos with the
baby right after it. I do want to wear some makeup.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
You suggested that. Oh I did too.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah, because it's so easy. It's in a stick, so
it's good to take in your bag.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
That's why I was like, I know, I've talked about
it before, but I haven't actually recommended it, yeah, as
my spendy. And it's probably because it just seems like
that just looks so small to me for sixty dollars.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
So handy. But it's so handy. It's so creamy. It
is so creamy. You just bo I just you can
have so much makeup. I just put it right there
and right there on that real dark as well. But
peachy completely brightened.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
And I'm fairly sure as well as like the Peachy
correct D shades, there's also Conceally shade Yes series.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
That's why I'm like, I don't know if you could
just use it as a really creamy concealer. Yeah, sometimes
I use an eye crect like that, and then I
just use my foundation. If I'm using kind of like
a lightweight Dey foundation as my concealer, I don't need
concealer on top of it. Yeah, I've got that at home,
and you're gonna make me dig it out.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Just brilliant.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Love it in Newbie so anything else it's new okay,
newby Okay, got stuff everywhere you want me to go?

Speaker 2 (10:23):
First? Yes?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
What am I holding? Okay?

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I was about to say deodorant, but then I remember
that I saw an email from Rexona about something new,
So I feel like maybe it's that.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
It is deodorant. It's Rexona whole body deodorant. What okay,
t am I perimenopause. You're a sweaty lady.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Anyway, I'm very I don't normally wear deodorant to be
if I've showered at night. Anyway, long story short, but
when it's humid or depending if I'm wearing a synthetic
top or whatever.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
And then just let's join the dots. Some areas get
more sweaty than others.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I'm not saying she's got a sweaty bag, you know,
I'm not saying you should.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Put it on your fagien. But what they recognized was
that under arms aren't the only place that sweat. People
have sweaty feet, sweaty hands.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
I did read on the website the places you can
use it no aluminium, because they know that people are
worried about aluminium in their deodorants.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I'm not personally. I use a lot of aluminium products,
but it's for pits, chest, feet, and beyond.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I thought I was going to say pits and no.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
So you can use it anyway, pits, chest feet, body,
so you can spray it anywhere.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I mean sure it says like on it.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Oh no, I wouldn't like spray it on my labia.
But you know what, you know how you and I
in summer, I get such a sweaty hairline. Remember how
sometimes I used to use like an antiperson deodorant along
my top of my lip or my hairline. I reckon
this at the back of my neck because I just
my head gets so sweaty now that I'm pery my whole.

(11:53):
Yeah you I used to be the sweaty one out
of us too, But last summer I am already dreading poorly. No,
last summer, like she wanted to put herself in a freezer.
I can't wear any graymal anymore. Oh no, like winter's fine.
I'm okay, but yeah, it's just someone think of gray mild.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
So this is the cream and this is the spray.
So I guess it depends where you're gonna use it.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Even if I could put that the cream in your
upper thigh area, I'm gonna say because you're chafing.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
So it says seventy four hour odor control. I mean,
I think we should all shower more than every three days, please,
But isn't.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
That just so clever? So let me remember hygiene. But
maybe you're like going camping, or like high Cleston, Brie.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, of course, or like when my mum was in
hospital recently and you don't let me give a bird
bath or a shower every few days, Like this could
be so handy for so many reasons.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
That's actually very true.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
I just think this is super clever. I isn't going
to try it like come summer. Well, that's what it's
going to say. As it warms up.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
I'm going to try the I mean it says whole
body do o, but I'm going to try the cream
on various areas around my neck and my face, my hairline.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I really want you to try it on your upper lip.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, okay, maybe I know. I'll put someone on my
upper lip and go to a sauna. I mean, that's
very hot. I'll turn my air conditioning on.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
That would be such good spawn.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah, Rexona Swans soar, let's grape ry meenaphaorsalill help me.
Lena will go to anast my just my bedroom has
its own like heating unit.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I'm going to turn it up to like twenty eight
and see what happens. Oh okay, we love a girl
that commits to the name of sweatyness.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Kelly, your newbie ha the labo. So I think you've
talked about this brand more than I have. I have
both of us an absolutely glorious brand.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
It's the number one brand in Japan.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
It's the number one year like Mass skincare brand in Japan.
Only came to Australia a couple of years ago in
different packaging, so it confused the whole world because they're like,
is that the same, blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Indeed it is.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
It's affordable full price, it's thirty nine to ninety nine. Well,
one of you, all of the creams, it is the Obviously.
As soon as I opened this, I thought, well, well
that will be on my face, the mega illuminating moisturizer
cream with hyaluronic acid and transamic acid.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, transamic acid is on the way.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
My goodness. So to me, this fluffy cream provides extremely
effective care, supporting the process. She actually guys she's giving
it to me revitalation. I don't care about that. All
I care about is what it looks like on my skin.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
And also I just read I can't read that with
my glass. I look like Edward Cullen, but not as intense.
If anyone doesn't know, that's that Vanpire, that's glary. I've
never seen that outside day and night, which I love.
I would never waste it at night time though. No,
but you're traveling, or you're you're a low fi kind
of you just want to cream? Well, no, not y SPF.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
It's light enough for an oily perse all over. It's
a gel, but it is so it's like glass skin.
It is glass skin, which Ky Beauty and J Beauty said, well,
no scent.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
It's got this beautiful light shimmer in it. But it's
not a shimmer. No, it's like a pearl lesson per
lessons exactly.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
It's there's no micro or anything that makes it glittery
per se, but it's just got such a beautiful glow
in it that is just juicy skin so good. I
wouldn't use it at night because it's not thick enough
as well, and I need something.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Well, it's not all about you, Kelly.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Maybe some of the ubi's just want something to take
with them.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Exactly, it's not all about me. Shot Horror and Gosh,
they do a good job with everything they release.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I love that and thirty nine ninety nine full price,
I know, I know it's so good.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
I love their super hydrated like the lotion essence thinking
that now comes in a thousand variants.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
I don't even care what variant.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
I use it downstairs and now downstairs bat through. My
husband has the men's one because he has to do
his skincare down there.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
So many needs to have a men's.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Well he's just like it to us. But I go
in there, I go wha, like it's all great, Oh
my my goodness. Anyway, well done. I think that this
is phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Try it for yourself.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Shut mustache, okay, shot my stash and empty his Mine's
a quick little story. So a little while ago, brow
Coo invited me in to get my brows done. If
you don't know who they are, they're a chain of
brow places. I don't know exactly how widespread Australia they are,
but there's one at Westfield bond No Junction, which is
near me. And I was like great, because I have

(16:20):
to get a watch fixed. I had to do a
thousand things. Of course, I had to go to Kmart
and I got my brows done and then I got
some products when I finished, and I love them.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
You do look beautiful. I just hadn't noticed because they
were behind your gorgeous glasses.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Well this was a little while ago, but they're really
like they they had a light in the shape gorgeous.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Can I tell you?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I also like that place because normally I have threading
because I use vitamin A. But a lot of places
don't do threading, they do tweezing, so they'll literally tweeze
if you don't want to use hot wax or strip.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Wax, A lot that must take Oh you're not as harious.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
It didn't, No, it was bad. It didn't And she
did the tin. I was just really impressed. So they're
like in house or you can buy the products online.
It's called one V Salt.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
I do not know that you weren't supposed to wax
if you use vitamin A. Well, it depends.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
It depends on the waiver like I when I got there,
I was like, it's okay to use hot wax, which
is the stuff that like peel off with their hands,
but strip wax will probably lift your skin.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
It depends on how often used the product.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
And also I don't think I ever use bretnole around
my eyebrows if travels.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Anyway, she did a wonderful job tweezing. So their products
are one V Salon. This is my favorite, but that's
also my favorite. It's called the Highbred brow gel, so
it's a brow gell but also lamination vibes, but not
lamination vibes like I don't want that electroccuted eyebrow look.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
It's really nice because it's like a doesn't go crunchy.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
It feels like a men's hair wax but clear, but
that doesn't go crunchy but sets.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Okay, it's so good. So that's really good.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
But then they gave me the Browse soap and I
was like, oh, I don't know, because I don't want
to do the.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
As my brows are thinning.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
I'm losing a lot of brows sort of on the
outer corner, and so I want that fluffed up look.
But I would never get them laminated in salon, so
this just makes everything look fuller.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
And I just they're really good products.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
You can tell that people that just do brows made
these brow products, so you can get them online. So like,
for example, the Browse soap is twenty six bucks, the
Hybrid brow gel is twenty three they're really affordable.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
You can buy them.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Online so you don't have to go into one of
those places to get your brows done. And since then
that's all of it, using, Oh, really into it. They're
really good brands, So give it a go. What's your
shop sash or empty?

Speaker 3 (18:27):
On Tuesday? I had the glorious doctor Naomi on the formula.
Oh and we'll link the episode in the show notes
so you can go listen to the whole thing. One
of the questions that I asked her was because she
was talking about her routine, and obviously she was talking
a lot about her products that she has formulated, which
they are exceptional. But I was like, I want to
know what product you use on yourself. That's it's not

(18:50):
yours grade question. And there were two things that she used,
and she said blists. She said, I cannot make anything
better than blistecks. I love it so much. I've used
it forever. And I was like, oh, okay, random, interesting, I'm.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Basic and boring. Anyway.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Then that weekend after the interview, I was up at
my parents' house and I was cleaning my mum I've
realized in her older age, is becoming a little bit
of a horder.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yeah, hello to my house recently, you come and help
me clean it? Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
And I was clearing out some of her drawers and
looking at things, and she had six listics in there
and I said, Mom, why because we forget we go
to the shop and go, Oh, I think I need one.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
She also had eleven peas of Tweezers oh wow, because
it was on specials. So I stopped up and she
just had them littered through the house.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
That's how you get one anyway, So I was like, well,
I'm thieving one, and I took one, and it really
is excellent, So I have ages shocked mum stash. Effectively
it is. I remember these like honestly, like, I love it,
but I still don't think.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Different texture to the one I'm used to. Mine's not blue.
Oh it's got to intensive repair.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
It's really good, but I don't think it's the best
lip balm I've ever used.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
However, they're very good and active or whatever. Mentally.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I remember when I had a sort and I put
it around my nose and then I was like, is
there menthol in it? Well, I don't know, but it
feels like medical.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
It's really good anyway. They're really affordable, so full price.
Obviously I didn't pay for it. I stole it off mum.
But you can get them for two three.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Dollars next time you got you mums, can you get
me one? Yeah? Sure? Do you want some toweezes?

Speaker 4 (20:26):

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Yes, I do love a tweez for toyezes.
