Speaker 1 (00:10):
You're listening to a MoMA Mia podcast. Mama Mia acknowledges
the traditional owners of land and waters that this podcast
is recorded on Makeup is My Therapy. I'm in love,
I'm obsessed and I don't even feel guilty of body. Hello,
and welcome to you beauty. This is the podcast for

(00:32):
your face. I'm Kelly McCarran. Why am I sitting up
like I bring my school photo? I don't know. Here
we talk about beauty, hair, skin nails, body breakrequids, smelling
nice things, colorful things, all of the glorious beauty things.
And if you're only listening to us, please make sure
you get us into your eyes as well as your ears.

(00:52):
Find us on YouTube. TikTok instead will pop all of
the details in the show because there's extra things on there.
If you watch on YouTube, you get to see our
glorious but also watches like yeah, and they don't really
cut out all the funny bits on YouTube. When you listen,
it's a bit more professional and like you can listen
to Lee's stomach, who is our third team member as always,

(01:14):
and TikTok and Instagram have other wonderful content. All right,
We do some products that we love for in total
and we tell you why. So Kelly, start with whatever
the hell that is is that? That better be a
Saby Spendy Baby, Spendy Bay. I just want you to
try to guess. If anyone is just listening, I'm holding
up a pink gadget. It looks like a pink like frisbee,

(01:37):
but it looks like something. Can I guess like a boomerang? Yeah?
Maybe like a or like a hat, a hat. It's
like a visor. I don't know what it is to
advise you guessed it? It is a body washer? Oh
my gosh. And it was two dollars and fifty cents.

(01:57):
We're from Camar. Oh my gosh. So last week maybe
I was shooting all over your camart straight now. I
was like when you said last week, maybe I was shooting,
I was like, cly, poor thing. What did you do
with me? A week ago? Was what to do with this? No,
that you're rubbing all over your body? No? Last week
I was giving Lee a bit of humor if you
will over her. But I have still team came out,

(02:21):
I love came out. This was two dollars fifty and
these feels so good? Can I have a can just relax.
I've got a question. Do youher your thighs or wash
on my body? So it just feels so good? Listen,
the whole gher thing is about lymphatic drainage. I don't
do it properly. I'm not following any sort of well team.
You meant to wake up your lymph nodes first so

(02:42):
that there's got some, and then you go towards the
heart because you can't flush things. Why are your lymph
nodes in your vagina? Your lymphos are in your inner
thigh and in here. Haven't you ever had lymphatic drainage?
They've got to wake up. Oh my god. If you're not,
I've had like lymph stuff. You don't wake up your
lymph nodes before you drain everything. I don't know what happens.

(03:03):
Probably nothing, because I certainly don't think I'm doing anything
properly anyway, Okay, listen. I didn't buy it because I'm
doing lymphatic drainage. I bought it because I was interested
in it. I thought it might feel good when I
put my body oil on my body oil after a
nice shower, and then I use it to like rob
in I do do the upwards motions. Yeah, you look

(03:24):
like you're having a good time. Then oh yeah, that
feels good. Oh yeah, oh yeah, and then you like
put it up in a shower, Darmy. You could do
it in the show. You do it up your stunt.
You could do it under your boobies just to like
lift in their massage it. Get your partner or someone
else to do it on your back. It's like a massage.
I'm picturing you like Lenny rub this on me. It's

(03:44):
like rob it. He wouldn't do it hard enough, Like
you've got to get in there. It feels so good
without hurting. Yes, do it in the shower with your
body wash. That's what I do my lymphatic drainage. But
I use one of those cups two dollars and fifty
cents or this little gadget and it just looks fun.
It could be you could glue that to a handbag
and make it a handle. No, could almost be a Bengal. Yeah,
this your ancessory see them or nothing to wear? Watch out, La,

(04:07):
I'm coming for your job. Wow, you knew how right here? Fashion? Wow,
my savor. I hope for you bes appreciate the fact
that I carried this in a sandwich bag, and I'm
only gonna let you unscrew the top. Okay, what's with
that face? Because I can't believe you like that's commitment.
I appreciate you. Oh I thought you hated. No, I'm
like that you bought an giant oil a body butter,

(04:30):
but I like the oil in a pump like very
risky business. Oh honestly, you don't understand everything I brought
today with so liquidy. I will reuse my sandwich bags
and everything, and then I put it in like a
kid's insulated lunchbox because I didn't want to spill in
a regular beauty. That's how much I love my ybies
Parme's cocoa. But a formula Tahitian vanilla moisture drenching body oil.

(04:52):
Not just body oil moisture drenching. I mean whatever, it's
a body oil smell. This put a little bit on
my own. Have you been to Tahiti? No, I'm not rich, Okay,
near of mine. I've been to Tahiti. I'm too scared.
I got my first tattoo in Tahiti when I was fifteen.
You went to Tahiti when you were fifteen. Yes, must
be nice for some rude it's more probably outrageous that

(05:14):
I said Mom and Dad, I want to tato when
they were like, okay, and they've got someone to come
to my room. I love that. But I had to
get a high biscus because he didn't speak any English.
He didn't know shooting Star anyway, So you know how
I feel about Vanilla. Yes, I'm not a huge fanny
at that time. He shouldn't vanilla smell it so it's
not too Gorman bakery. I don't love it, I'll be honest,

(05:34):
but I like the feel of it. I mean, I
don't love it in that it's going to replace my fragrance,
but I just feel like it feels good. It feels
really good. And also I just like the tropicalness of it.
At this time of year. It's twenty four ninety nine,
but at the time I got it from Chems Sweat
House at the time of recording, it was four dollars off,
so twenty four ninety nine. And it's big cause I
always have it. I really should have put my glasses

(05:55):
on for anyone wanting. It's really big, like and you
only need to fire one hundred and ninety two meal.
Wow specific Yeah, why not too much anyway, it's really nice.
I like it so white flour and vanilla. It's Tahiti
in a bottle. If you can't go to Tagie, well,
I don't think I'll know for a very long time.
So that is the next best thing. Okay, what's your sending?

(06:16):
What do you think this is? Lee Kelly's brought a book?
I did. I brought a book as my spendere It
is a very expensive book, sixty nine dollars. You really
want to hope it looks nice on your coffee table
for sixteen books of that expensive. Yeah, I know they're more, yeah,
way more so. The brand is called Memo and it's
one of those really fancy expensive food sage brands that

(06:37):
they sell it Libertine Poffum. Yeah, and I know I'm
not saying that properly. We had that Fragrant Expert on
a while ago. Those episodes were my favorite book. They see.
I feel like he'd really appreciate this now. I've spoken
about Discovery perfume sets a lot over the history of
You Beauty. There was one from Nest that I recommended
a couple of months ago, but was it in a book? No,

(06:59):
it wasn't. Look at this is that not so beautiful?
So beautiful? Like I love the discovery and there's a
map and stuff. Yes, it's so nice. So it was
sixty nine dollars and there are seven mini fragrances in it,
ten each. Yeah, they're one point five mil. But great
to discover exactly. And I just like a discovery set.

(07:21):
Is this is such a good Christmas gift for someone
that's hard to buy for, or just someone that loves
and you want to do like a little bond bond
with a one each. Yes, because then you could pick
and choose based on what you think someone would love.
And you had some drinks. Are just such beautiful fragrances.
Can I tell you what's in there? Yes? So there's Ethache,
which is vibrant. Odyssey tells me everything, It doesn't tell

(07:42):
you anything. Tell me your favorite, okay, So I've got
a few favorites. So there is mad Duria, oh yes,
which is a mad jasmine. Obviously if we have Christmas lunch,
can I have that one? Sure? Then there's MafA, which
is the eye of tuberos, another white flower that we

(08:04):
both have said Martha or Marfa MafA okay, And then
I also really like Irish and African leather. They're two
other fragrances because I'm just so into getting that it
is beautiful for three out of seven or whatever, you know,
and you can always just And also they're just good
for trying or traveling having in your hands bag. And

(08:24):
it doesn't sound like much like one point five mil.
Isn't they last a decent amount of time, Like if
you're going away for two weeks, that'll do you. Oh,
that's all you need. It's not going to break. Well,
it's sturdy. It's sturdy, it's not going to break it.
It's not Back in the day when we had magazines,
we had to peel open the little sample and rub exactly.
And you know what else I love there the sprays, yes,
so you don't have to get that silly top off
off and then it goes everywhere. Or a rollerball and

(08:48):
then you constantly like I love a rollerball if it's
a little bit bigger, but sometimes so if it's an oil,
it's so hard when they're this small. So this is
just such a beautiful gift, even if the gift is
to yourself. Sixty nine dollars seven little mini forgetting this
and like because you men take the packaging out and
you've got a little Heidi whole book and no one's
eving to look in your ball. I just don't like

(09:09):
these rogrances start at two seventy five. Yeah, for a
big boat. That's a really good value. You do not
even if you smell something in a shop and you think, oh,
that's beautiful, I still think you want to try a
mini version because you want to see before you spend
that much money. That's what I mean. It makes more
financial sense to buy this. I would say, you've sold
us many times. Ever, what's your spendy I'm sorry, it's

(09:30):
very expensive. Well, I would hope, so being a spendy
skin Suiticles's launched, Yes, another product. Stop it. Stop launching products,
Stop launching good products. Launch a few duds so we
don't want to spend money annoying. This is the skin
Suiticles Advance RGN six Aesthetic Recovery cream helps improve visible

(09:52):
signs of aging. So let me tell you about it.
It don only just launch. It's got lots of excellent reviews.
Anyone can use. It is recommended for normal oily dry
combination sensitive or aging skin. I think that's everybody covers
it all. So it's a cream and I'm not really
that into moisturizers, but it's very Wait, would you like
to touch it? What do you mean you're not into moisturizers? Well,

(10:12):
you know how like I prefer like a gel based
Like I don't go to moisturize a face cream, so
to say, I would rather layer serums and then maybe
do like a gel texture. Would you like touch it
while I'm doing this? So you can have half a pump?
Remember the other time you took a whole pump of
my eight hundred dollars serum Ectoin is in there. There's
so many good ingredients that I'm not gonna bother explaining.
But it's specifically formulated for post treatment. So you've gone

(10:34):
and had laser or appeal or whatever. It's going to
really help speed up recovery. But because of that, it's
just really good on skin that needs improving, if that
makes sense, So you don't have to have had a treatment.
So what it's going to do is skin barrier repair
and rejuvenate tone and age damage, So damage from age.
I don't really like that term because like aging isn't damaging?

(10:56):
You know what aging is? Amazing? Yes, it treats discoloration, redness,
fine lines, and wrinkles, and it is damages and I
don't want to be for two hundred ninety dollars. It
feels beautiful, so nice. It's so flip and annoying. Yes,
using it at night. I guess you can use it
in the day. I actually don't know when you're supposed
to use it, but that's when I use it. Maybe
it says, well, if it doesn't have any harsh like

(11:17):
actives that are then you don't have to use it
during You could use it. I've probably read the instructions.
Oh they've got there, don't. You can do day or night,
so I could double it up and be extra beautiful,
but it's too extensive. I'm just using it at night.
But you're the one that told me off using patox
only at night, suresho. I will never live that down.
Go on, buy a Bobby bin and be quiet. Newbie,

(11:44):
so anything else, it's new? What's your newbie? Moving on
to newbies, my newbe is also new. Newbi's also new.
I may not say my newbies also a really expensive
new skincare products, but medicate very similar to skin suticals

(12:05):
in like their R and D and like everything that
they releases kind of on path for like fancy expensive,
really good. Yes, I even bought in my little thingy oh,
so I can give you proper of you. So it
is the advanced pro Collagen peptide cream rejuvenating anti wrinkle
moisturizer Marria peptide. I think I should. I really like this.

(12:29):
Here is about Kelly and the Peppi peptides. Look are
you proud? Yes? Please everybody if you're watching on YouTube,
Kelly just showed me that the little disc, the plastic
disc that lives inside the jar is still there. It's
very important do not throw it away. I don't ever
keep it. But I did with this because I knew
that I wanted to do. Basically getting your extensive oystizer
and rubbing it in. I just like did it in

(12:51):
case Lee. I brought it in and I was like,
I don't want Lee to yell at me. Do you
want to try it? Yeah? I guess so, Like I
just want to show look at oh, sorry, look at
how thick that is. You were going to be like,
that is a moisturizer. That's what I think of when
I think of a moisturizer. So it's their most advanced
collagen solution and it helps to increase collagen production by

(13:13):
forty five percent. It has growth factor mini proteins. Growth
factor has been talked about a lot this year. Next
year everything's going to be about growth factors. I think
people aren't going to be like, oh, hyuronic acid and nicinemata.
It'll be growth factors. Shoulder which is good for improving

(13:33):
the appearance of the skin structure by helping to boost
skins collagen. And we have a great episode upcoming where
we talk all things collagen on the formula, so keep
that on your horizon. Things to look out. They went away.
Then there's an NAD longevity booster, which is okay on
growth factors an NAD. I'm more into this than I

(13:55):
thought it would make. Yeah, it's very impressive NAD. Sorry
is what Remember a couple of weeks guy, I spoke
about the Murad new retinal night cream and I have
it as a supplement, but I currently doing it topically.
But it sounds like I'm on that's got the NAD
in it to help sandwich the retina exactly like any
night cream with an nag in it is going to
feel incredible. I don't is it on your shoulder? But

(14:17):
I just did that. I can't. Was I supposed to
put it anywhere on your face? And then it has
extra peptide in it that they have done all of
the I don't know they've done this scienced. How much
is it? It's very new. Kelly obviously doesn't know everything.
It's one hundred and sixty dollars for fifty sixty. I
think it's okay. I can't believe I just said that,

(14:40):
but the cost of living because you just felt it though,
and it just feels so Mine was nearly three hundred
so beautiful. I mean, look at that shoulder and just
baby shoulder. It is the science behind these skin care
products and the clinical trials. Will they speak more volumes
than words? Ever? Can? I just wish brands wouldn't call
them collagen creams because I think people think they're applying

(15:02):
think collagen topically, but no, what it's doing is it's
telling your collagen. Yeah, I don't know. I feel like
it's fine. I think people include on people that are
spending one hundred and sixty dollars. True, it's true. You
don't just walk in and go. I have no idea
what that is. He's one hundred and sixty dollars. Yeah,
like people are going to do the research before they
spend on hundred and sixty dollars. They're going to then
look into the research that Medicai have done and they'll

(15:23):
be like, okay, that makes sense. They're going to know
that it's not putting collagen on their face. I think
everyone is really going to look into everything if they're
spending one hundred and six dollars. Yes, okay, my newbie
is would you like a water? Actually? Yes, I'm quite
Is it actually water? Because I'm quite persty? It's not.
I thought it was beauty water. I don't know. Well
it is, but not for you for your tummy, for

(15:44):
your face. So muji the Japanese kind of I won't
say Japanese two dollars shop because it's more expensive, but
kind of the good quality basics. I am obsessed with
their undiaes. They're hard to find. You can get the
muji Melbourne. I don't know what you're talking about. It
is the muji mu ji. It's like what we're going. Okay,
there was one at the QBB and City then it closed.
Now there's one there again. There's one in Melbourne. They're everywhere.

(16:05):
They're global, think about like UniGlobe, but like of everything
home where I'm sure i've seen one. Okay, yes, I
don't really, I'm not like like, I like Uniclo if
I need a T shirt, but it doesn't excite me. Okay. Well,
people froth on Uniclor and I'm like, it's very boring. Okay,
but it's just about like good quality, simple classics. Okay,

(16:26):
as is Moujie grade socks. The best pen you'll ever buy. Oh,
using that pan, Yes, the roll of oil bawls, the
zero Puente three. We're going out after this to the
pan shop. No, okay, to go get drinks and lives
some mood I've always loved Moodie. They've always had skincare.
But they've just relaunched two of their rangers, new and

(16:47):
improved and flip and amazing. As you can tell, they
do not bother wasting money and marketing on fancy packaging,
hence why it looks like a bottle of water. So
the Sensitive Skin series is new, and so is the
Rice Bran Booster series. Remember our friend a few months
ago asked a question on a Monday episode about rice bread. Yes,
so it's all Japanese. It's all phenomenal. You will walk

(17:08):
in and go. Is that water? This is the pre lotion.
Remember how last week you had a Siluasu like pre serum,
so that similar concept. Yep, toning water, deep moisture, lum lum.
This is the Booster Essence lotion. There's a million products,
but are they all the same thing? That do different like? Well,

(17:29):
they're in different ranges. So the dark top that is
Rice brand series. The lighter top is the Sensitive Skin series.
This is the Booster serum. Ooh, I want to try that.
And that isn't all in one gel. I'm guessing cleanser.
The back of it is in Japanese, so I've had
to play with some and not others. I was sent
in the whole range for review purposes. Let me tell

(17:51):
you roughly the price, because obviously they're a huge collection.
If you have a Mooji near you go and play
like it's just like go buy the pen, like Manila folders, pajamas,
like everything, just classically Japanese and incredible impeccal quality. So
your toning water is nineteen ninety five, pretty amazing. Then

(18:12):
you've got your all in one gel twenty nine ninety five,
so really reasonable. The quality is phenomenal. You poo pooing
on this, but you'd go to no, no, no, no, no,
to W Cosmetics. It's the same thing. No, I'm not,
I'm poop pooing because I'm it just looks a little
bit too much like water. Okay, never mind. The lid's fine.
I thought it was literally the same lid as a

(18:33):
water bottle, and I was like, I would drink that accidentally. Well,
me too, maybe after a few too many drinks maybe, yeesh.
But know that I feel much better about the situation now. Oh,
there's such beautiful products. If you're really into your Asian
skincare products at the moment, and you're going to W
Cosmetics and all those Lila beauty websites, stop buy Emuji.
I'm going to I'm gonna take you. We're gonna have
drinks and am we're going to try at the Seerum please.

(18:53):
Then we're going to go to Muji and accidentally drink
them as water, no water, And then I'll probably and
then I'll probably end up buying the pen. And this
is the best pen ever. Oh you don't please, not
the best recommendation, I really do. What's better than a
Bobby pin? Show me it on you? Oh told you
it looks boring? It's good. Yeah, shop mustache? Did you

(19:21):
shop your stash? Did you do anything I did? I
wasn't going to talk about this product because well, I
was like, Kelly, you're not sixteen. You clickbaited me well
before we started filming. Actually, I said, you've got something
amazing on your lips, and you were going to tell
me later. So I said, it is this? Ah, Like
I originally was like, I'm not going to use a

(19:42):
glitter lip gloss. I'm not sixteen. Doesn't even literally what
have I been reaching for? Over and over and over? Yeah,
this is the I got it from Mecca. It is
the Half Magic gloss drip in the Shade Vixen, and
it has glitter in it. It's a brand half Magic. Oh,
I can see it's glittering in the little kit. It
is so glitterally, glitteral, glitterally, but it's literally glitterally. That's

(20:06):
literally glittery. But I think because it's not cheap glitter
and you feel it gritty. That's the thing I think,
because it is such a finely milled, good quality glittering.
Of course you can. It doesn't look like that's sixteen
year old. No, it's because it's got glitter in the name.
But otherwise I would say shimmery. No, it's glittery, but

(20:28):
it's not glitterly in like a craft glitter type of way. Well,
i'd hope, not hope it's craft. Like i'd say, it
looks like you know, when you do like a frost
on your lid, like a metallic frost you take your cake.
Oh no, you can't feel anything. It feels like it's beautiful.
Look at me. Yes, it actually really does. I love
the shade Vixen, and I just I'm like, why do

(20:49):
I keep using this lip loss that looks like it's
made for a teenager? I love it, like that could
have been like catvon d like, you know, like it
doesn't look like young. I thought, not that, I think.
I just I think because it's glitterally glittery, it's literally
glitterally say glittery. No, I think I'm really struggling with it.
I feel like people need to go look at what
we're talking about, because on YouTube it's so nice. It

(21:10):
sounds I picked that up exactly, yeah, exactly, I want it.
I got it from Mecca thirty five dollars. Okay, Spindy,
Oh yeah definitely, but like its so good d lips.
It's just beautiful. Did you also have a lip product? No? Oh,
does look like it though it doesn't got my stashes
something that I've used a fair bits. You can see, yeah,

(21:30):
almost an empty halfway. Well, yes, a little goes a
long way. Oh, I've had this for quite some time.
I'm a liprocorn. It is an eye shadow primer. I
don't often wear a lot of shadow, although I have been.
I have been, and you've got someone today you're looking
through sexy. Thanks. It is from glamortor So. Glamorate is
a website that does lots of things glamorated beauty. It

(21:51):
is called the High Impact Iprimer. It is twenty two dollars.
This will last you probably to the day eiter. It
is like a patty for your eyelid. Also, that's how
much you'd need for both? Well, yeah, I mean I don't,
I just because I've got oily eyelids, and I blink
like most people do, and most people blink, I just
get anyway of just yuck. So I just always wear

(22:12):
an eyelid primer, even if I'm only wearing Scara always
all day every day. It just literally like kind of
neutralizes the eyelid, matifies it down. Great base for even
if you're just doing liner shadow, cream shadow, anything kind
of brightens a bit and you've just been using it heaps. Yeah,
I've just been using it heaps. And when I was
sacking my bad because also it's getting hotter. Now I

(22:34):
have to bring out my anti humidity stop shiny steps
that I might not have needed in winter. Quite annoying,
but then you look a bit more. Next time I
need to buy an eyelid primer, I'm gonna try that
one because a lot of the ones that I like

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
