Speaker 1 (00:10):
You're listening to a MoMA Mia podcast. Mama Mia acknowledges
the traditional owners of land and waters that this podcast
is recorded on Makeup is My Therapy Love. I'm obsessed
and I don't even feel guilty a body. Hello and
welcome to Your Beauty, the daily podcast for Your Face.
(00:32):
I am Sarah Marie Bard and I am Live Jane,
and you're listening to Tried and Tested, the show where
we put new products and treatments to the test so
you don't have to unless they're really worth it. We
waste our time for you. Well, let's get straight into it.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I'm so excited to see what you have actually brought it.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
In testing chatting one to three? Did it work? Have
you seen those videos going around so face mask you
put on your face, then you spray this kind of
mist and it melts, it just disappears. Yes, I have
seen the collagen masks. Yes, okay, that's what I've tried.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Okay. So I'm actually quite excited about this. So I
got the derma fee that's how you say it, dermafee.
I got it from Amazon, as I do many random
products that I'm trying out for tried and test it.
I find like in them same day. So it's one
hundred percent collagen instant resilience melting patch. Again, collagen doesn't
necessarily absorb through the skin. It's more internal. But I thought,
(01:36):
let's just see, let's see how it works. You can
buy this red Camellia cell activating mist, which is another
one by Derma Fee. They pair together. You can buy
them together on Amazon.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Okay, okay, and you have to buy them together.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yes, I think so. I think this is a big
part of the melting, like it actually working together, activating
it and actually making it work on your skin. Okay,
So I thought, try them together.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Let's see.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
So this is me doing the face mask. That's me
putting my toner on. I was running out perfect.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
So you have to put a toner on beforehand. They
say that, well, it does good. Sure your skin's clean.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I think, so you got to cleanse your face, pop
a bit of tone. You're on a lot of K
Beauty thinks they're big on putting tona as a prep
before you put any skin care anyway, because it helps
the skin care absorb into your skin.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
These are the face masks, so little patches one on
my forehead. I'll put them on the cheeks. I do
feel like I should have maybe run one patch further
down to my chin a bit more because it doesn't
really touch your chin.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, okay, that's interesting. So it's in four different parts
is it?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Or three?
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Or they probably should have a chin mask. Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
They also don't have a nose mask. Yeah. See, I
don't like how face masks do that.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
A lot of ledep masks do that too, where they
just miss the nose and I'm like.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Well, hold on, what happened to my nose?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
And my whole face can look great unless the idea is.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
They're like, we want to plump your cheeks and your forehead.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, okay, maybe.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
I did feel like I was from Texas chains to
a massacre when I put this on.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, it's looking like you look like you have a
pat on your head. Honestly, this is very satisfying to watch.
You've put three patches on your face, one on your
forehead and two on your cheeks, and then you just
spray it and it.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Disappears and it disappears.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
That experience alone would make me want to buy it.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, I know, it's kind of like it's the gimmick
of it really makes you go, what's kind of cool, right,
having a bit of fun with your beauty. Yeah, I did,
because obviously it wasn't on my nose, on my cheek.
I was massaging it onto my face a bit. You
can see that. I'm realizing it feels a bit tacky.
Once it starts to dry, I'm like, mmm, so it
starts to stick a bit.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
It starts to stick a bit, which I don't mind
that feeling.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah, I didn't like it on my face, so I
wanted to see how it was gonna settle. So I
did leave it on. I didn't wash it off.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Okay, interesting, you're not meant to wash it off, are you?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
No?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
I know you do look extremely glowy, like it has
added a shine to your face that was not there beforehand. Yeah,
and it's extremely obvious too.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
And I did feel really hydrated, like I felt my
skin will looked plus interesting and the moisture was there. Okay,
So whether this gives you collagen or not, I don't know, right, Yeah,
I don't think that's feasible, but I do feel like
if you want like a moisture boost hydration boost. I
would recommend putting your regular skincare on after to get
(04:26):
like the extra boost at nighttime something for like the evening.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yes, to try it most like a sleeping mask.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Did you notice, like because you did, did you do
that in the morning or at night?
Speaker 1 (04:38):
I did that in the morning.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Did you notice any difference throughout your skin?
Speaker 1 (04:41):
I felt quite hydrated that night. Okay. Yeah, it was
enough for me to say, you know what, I'm going
to try this again without putting makeup on because I
used to make up after that to see how it
sat under makeup.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Total fail under makeup. Okay, Well it has to be
without makeup on top. Okay, so you definitely do it
at night.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I would definitely give it a try in the evening again,
just for an extra moisture booze, put my cereum, pull
my I cream, put my moisturizer on after. Yeah. It's
a hard one to say a nail or a fail
in regards to a face mask. You could probably just
buy a better face mask that you know you can
use all over.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Really cute and gimmicky. But would I bit it again?
Not really? Okay, you know to have to buy the
spray and then the park and then the pack has
like seven sachets and the spray has enough for like
five thousand. How much was it? Do you remember? If
it was it was cheap? Okay. I felt like maybe
the masks were twenty five dollars and maybe the spray
was similar twenty dollars or fifteen dollars. So in regards
(05:38):
to like skincare as a whole, yeah, it's not expensive.
K Beauty is not generally expensive.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah. They usually have price line prices which I like,
you know, like going into mecro or Sephora, are you
going into, like, yeah, a pharmacy, which is nice.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Exactly. I think there's better masks on the market, Okay,
especially for K Beauty.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
I think we have to be brutal.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Then I think we have to be brutal just because
I wouldn't bite again, it was really fun to try.
It's something I would probably give to someone else to
be like, hey, have a try and look at it
disappear once the pack it's gone. Yeah, I'm not repurchasing, Okay, Well,
I just feel like I can get like a better
hydrating mask and put that on my face, my chin,
my nose, my neck, like I want to put a
mask everywhere. Yes, and yeah, this doesn't hit the spot
(06:23):
for me necessarily, So I'm going.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
To say fail damn it purely just because of that.
You can't have nails without fails.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
No, yes, exactly.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
That's the sacrifice we're having.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Unfortunately, we've got to fail today. And that's all right.
That's the way of like it does melt. Yeah, which
is cool. It was a cool experience. I enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
But would you do that? One time's enough? Yeah, there
you go.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, so we're going to say fail for this one,
just purely on that. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
My hack today is another extremely viral hack. It's sitting
on over twenty million views. It is curling your eyelashes
upside down.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
I don't know what you mean, Like, what do you
mean upside down? Like you're upside down? The eyelash curler
is upside down? Do I need good core strength for
this one? Plea? What do I want to know? How?
I don't know how much Like pilates don't need to
even ride to this eyelash trend.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
You just need like perseverance and and like just you
just need to be like, no, it's worth it. And
then you'll be doing it and then you'll be like,
this isn't worth it? Why am I doing this? And
you'll be like, nah, I don't want to give it
away too early in the game. Okay, Okay, this hack
tested me. Okay, I did it this morning. I have
a video that I can show you show me the hack.
(07:46):
So what happens, right is, your body is not upside down,
you are still upright. You are simply turning your eyelash
curler upside down and you are putting your eyelashes through
it and straight, like basically curling them to be straight down.
Why so then that you can curl them again up
(08:08):
and it gives it an extra lift.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Okay, I'm calling bers on this one so early. I'm
calling it early.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
It's interesting, right, Like, what do you mean you go
make your eyelashes straight before you curl them up?
Speaker 2 (08:20):
So you use your eyelash curler the wrong way around,
which makes them go straight down. It was extremely difficult
our video editors, how any attempts? I tried twenty five
times this morning.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Why are you using this eyelash curler also facing like
the curvy part facing your eye?
Speaker 2 (08:37):
No? No, so you're using it normally you're just flipping it,
and you want the whole purpose.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
I think I'm not going to live anxiety thinking about it,
Like I actually feel claustrophosic. I haven't even done it yet.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, I multiple times I had to go and just
sit down and look at the ground because it was
really it was hard and I hated the whole thing.
You can see them having a little bit of a conversation.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Longer this video goes. Your face gets reader. Yeah, it's hard,
blood pressure face is red.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
It's seven thirty in the morning, too early. I'm like,
what am I doing?
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Actually I'm getting a bit triggered watching it. So basically,
you get your eyelash curler, you flip it, flip it,
you put your eyelashes through the flip, and you just
clamp it like normal. Getting it through the eyelash.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Curler was the most hard.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
It was the hardest thing because your eyelash.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Curler is designed for this curve. Thank you, I'm not
for that curve upside down.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
And like every hack on the internet, the girl that
did it made it look so easy.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
You should probably use the mini lash curler that I
did on like a couple episodes back, like I am.
It was like the mini one, and you can use
it upside down, so you could do section by section.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Okay, see that because I missed a lot of sections too,
because I was like, I can't fit everything.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
As you would. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
So basically what I did I did one eye normally
because I was like, I just want to actually see
if this works.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
So I did.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I curled that normally, and then I did the upside
down hack. So you do the upside down, you clamp
it downwards and then you clamp it upwards. Look, the
unfortunate thing about this.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Is the whole thing is the whole thing, and the real.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Gripe that I have with it is that it was
better no, and that really that guys that pissed me off.
I did it. I was like, on attempt twenty five,
I was like, this is stupid. It's gonna be dumb anyway.
And then I curled it the normal way around, and
I went, oh, but you can drastically see right now
(10:38):
that the one that I did upside no way far
more lift than the one I did normally, So it
actually worked. It actually worked. This is hard, right, because
I really sat there and I thought, all right, well,
obviously it's worked, so yeah, is it a n ail?
And then I said, hold on, just because something works
doesn't mean it's good, and it doesn't mean it's worth
(10:59):
the emotional torment that you have to go.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Through to get there. You look traumatized in the video.
I was.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
I started talking to myself and that's when I know.
I was like, Nah, this isn't worth it. So even
though it did work, this is a fail. And I'm
happy to say it.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, damn it. Do not do this.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I'm a huge advocate for getting your lashes lifted and tinted.
It is the best thing I've ever done in my life.
So instead of doing any eyelash hacks, just go get
them done.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Get them save yourself, save yourself. The emotional baggage, Oh
my god, just the thought of it, Like, honestly, it
hurt my soul watching you.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
It was not worth that. Like twenty million people saw
that and thought, oh my gosh, I'll give it a go.
Can you imagine that's country of people that potentially went
through what I went through this morning, And that's sad.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I'm so sad. Yeah, I can't that much time and
your eyelashes my parting me thinking about it. I'll have
eyelash extensions just because I find curling them alone. Even
though it doesn't take too long.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Too long for me and the It's one lesson you
have to worry about too.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
It's ridiculous. Yeah, that's hilarious. I mean, it wasn't funny
watching you go through that, but it was at the
same time.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
I mean your face truly.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
I know. I sent it to our video editor and
I said, I'm really sorry about this. I just I'm sorry, Like.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Take twenty five, Take twenty six, Take twenty seven. Don't
try this at home.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah, do not do it under any circumstances.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Even though it works, don't do it. Oh my god,
it's not worth it. Thank you so much for listening
