Speaker 1 (01:40):
And by beautiful face, she means a face that hasn't
slept in hours up early to try this hack.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Testing, testing one to three. Did it work?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It is something called the Blend Smart Rotating Makeup Applicator.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
That's a mouthful.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
It's a mouthful. Oh. This came across my desk recently, and.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
You know what it looks like.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
It looks like something that I would keep in my
draw next to my bed.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
It looks like a vibrated I knew you'd say something
like that. Look at this guy.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, I mean, it's probably like the makeup battery operated
makeup version of a vibrator.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I guess. I don't know, but it came across my desk.
And we get so.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Many products, and some of them, you know, just jump
out it. Yeah, this is one of those products. On
the website, it says it's the most advanced rotating makeup
brush on the market. Oh so I didn't even know
we had rotating brushes on the market, but this is
the most advanced one. For an everyday bundle with three heads,
it costs one hundred and sixty nine dollars on sale. Oh,

(02:48):
this is an eight piece set. Okay, so this is
like the full set.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Which is actually cheap for a full set of makeup
Rush when you.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Think about it.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, if you're buying like a full set of makeup brushes,
this has I think it's got five different heads, but
it also has a couple of other bits and pieces,
including like our silicon matt to wash your brushes on
and everything like that, and a travel Case's two hundred
and fifty dollars on sale.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
So that's pricing, okay.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I mean I would usually go for like an everyday set.
I'm like, usually every I would usually go she throws
out all the makeup brush and starts you every time,
and every day set is probably all I would need.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
But this full set includes everything.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
It's got a head for foundation, powder up, blush, blending, conjuring, defining,
along with like the travel case and a little like
silicone mat to wash it. Now, I usually use a
sponge to put on my foundation. The only thing with
using like a beauty blender of sponge is you know,
it just eats up so much of your foundation, but
you get a really good result at the end.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I hate sponges.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Why, I think because no, I didn't know that, but
now that's what adds to it. I think because it
works really well for people with dry skin, and I
think it worked really well for like liquidy dewey looks.
But when I use because I use a lot of
matte products and it doesn't blend as well, like I
think it's the water combination with the mate product that
just doesn't so well on my skin.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
And then obviously yeah, I mean, I guess it depends
on your skin type.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
I also like to use brushes as well.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
But I find sometimes it gets a little bit streaky
and then I'll have to use my beauty blender anyway, Yeah, okay,
and when I'm in a rush in the morning, I
just can't Yeah, and it sometimes makes me go for
a really sheer foundation over something that's more medium coverage,
because I'm like, I can't be bother blending it anyway.
This looks a little gimmicky, but it promises to make
the whole blending process seamless. It promises to use less makeup.

(04:43):
So I was like, I'm going to give this a go,
and honestly, like for gimmicky kind of looking products, I'm
like such a sucker for them.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
There was once like an MC beauty.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Like little washing machine that washes your beauty blenders.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
You buy one of these.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
I got one, and I just, OK, I have no
shame whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I did actually use a rotating mascara wand once, Oh yeah, terrifying.
I had it when I was younger and it was
brilliant because I used to have a big a version
towards eyes and like miscar. I never used to wear
it because I freaked me out. And then I got
this one that just turned on its own, so I
just held it then and I just did terrible.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
It was a bit scary, but it's like a big
fan of rotation.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Well, this is my first kind of dabble into the
rotating makeup application up.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
I want to see.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Okay, so I'm going to tell you after the breakout
when and also show you what's since that. Okay, opening
up the box, whoa, well, there's a lot is one, two, three, four, five,
five different heads. You've got the Definer brush head, You've

(05:50):
got a pro blending full coverage blush head, a universal
foundation brush head, a powder brush head, and a blush
brush head.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
That's really hard for me to say. If you have
a list, it's.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Very hard to say all of those words in such
close proximity.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
It also as as I said, this.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Like travel case and you got the little matt washing
the brush.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Do you have one of these? I do, but I
do have them my pression invest one. Myb'll take this,
you can take that one. So basically, I'm going to
talk you through what happened. I've got the video here.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I needed to read the instructions because I opened it
and I was like, oh no, there's batteries, there's everything.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
So it takes the vibrator out of your bedroom door
and you're like, it's time to.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Do my makeup.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
My makeup multi you could just buy the heads and
attach it to your vibrator. You put the battery in
the anti unscrew the end, you pop the battery in.
Oh look at you go, and then you basically choose
what head. I chose the foundation brush head. I don't want,
you know, full coverage for every day really.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
And did you put the foundation on your brush.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yes, so it says apply one pumper foundation directly on
the brush head and you're going so fast around your face.
It did go faster than I expected. Does a tickle
It does a little bit. It kind of feels like
an electric toothbrush on your face, but when you bring
it away from your face, the rotation slows down a
little bit, so it kind of like turns.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
It doesn't go.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Like so fast, so it's like a smart brush. Yeah,
it does feel a little bit funny around my nose.
It felt like it was kind of like flipping around
my nose a little bit. But you do put a
light pressure on your skin and I have to say
it blended really well. But I was kind of like,
this is so weird, the sensations so weird.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
You know what it looks like like if you use
an electric toobrush. When you use an electric tuobrush for
the first time, and it's like not doing the things
that you would.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Naturally do exactly, so you're kind of trying to like
rub it, but you're supposed to not kind of do
the work, like let the brush do the work here.
So I used it for my makeup base here, like
my foundation base. I did go ahead because I'm using
the Clinique even better foundation.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
It's quite sheer coverage.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
So I ended up applying another two pumps because I
have no self control. Yeah, I nice and going ahead
and then just going over again with the brush. It
blended really good though, like there were no streaks or
anything like that. I then went ahead and tried the
Definer brush head. I usually never conto, but I'm like,
I'm doing everything today because this is just it just

(08:25):
seems like I need to. I did a bit of
contour and used the Defining one, and then I also
used blush.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Did last morning, Oh my god, your face.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Looks does it?

Speaker 4 (08:36):
I didn't properly check, and it looks great.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I felt like it looked like it was blended.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I didn't go over with sponge again because I felt
like it looked okay. Also, it said the Definer brush
that can be used for concealing, and then I used
I didn't have like a liquid concealer, but I used
the Bobby Brown stick under my eye and then I
tried to.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Kind of blend it with the brush.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
That was a little bit hard though honestly it kind
of like went into my eyes, So maybe don't use.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
It around your eyes.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
But we've got to try everything anyway, So I tried
a couple of different heads.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
I honestly really like this.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
I thought it would be something that i'd be like, augh,
but I was like, this is kind of fun, really
and it was quick, and I think I used less
makeup generally than I would usually.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Use because it blends so well.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, blend's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
This is me here applying the end of my eye.
It honestly blended really well, but it would probably be
a little bit so tender, right, Yeah, it's quite thin,
so that was probably not the best choice for me.
But anyway, I found overall it's obviously very pricey. If
you do use a variety of different brushes in your

(09:49):
everyday routine, you could just go for the every day set,
I guess, and have like the three different heads.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I liked it and I would use it again. If
you want a.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Whole set of tools for your makeup look and you
want that really precise look without using a sponge and
brush at the same time, and you want to use
less product.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
And I guess it's sped up my routine as well.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
I have to say, look at you, go, look at me.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Go.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
I recommend digging around my makeup back, give me another head.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
It's honestly really good. So I want you to have
a little girl. This is actually so good.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Use I want to try to my hand.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
It's so nice.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
It's a good time. So it's a nail for me.
It's obviously not a must have. This is just a
nice to have. I think I will use it again.
So that's that's.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
A nail for me.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
You're glowing so tickling.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I know it's nice. I love it. So there we go.
Tell me whatever you got for me?

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
So I was scrolling on my Instagram and I got
a DM from a brand new beauty brand. They're called
Small Things, and I was immediately hooked.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Because they launched with this product.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
And the first product they launched with was a primer
and it was called the Save the Day sweat Reducing Primer.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Were oh my god, this sounds like a.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Good time because you you're.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Really sweaty now you always talk about how your makeup
like kind of sweats off and stuff.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yeah, yeah, so I changed a lot in my I
guess like every day routine. I wake up really really early,
and the first thing I do is like my skincare,
my makeup. I do a whole days of work, and
then usually I'll walk to work as well, especially when
it was summer, it was really hot, yea walk back home.
I go to a polarate session in the evening.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Like that's a lot, like, you know what, even if
you're not a sweaty.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Person exactly, And then I go to dinner after pilarates.
So by the time I reach my dinner and freaking
sit down and everyone's like, what's wrong with your face?

Speaker 4 (11:52):
And I'm like, you know, what's so true?

Speaker 2 (11:53):
So this primer really intrigued me, and I was like,
I really need to try it because it promises to
keep all your makeup in place. Or if you're not
a makeup girl and you just want like a bit
of a madifying look on your face, you can just
put the primer on. I do both, and I feel
like it's changed the game. So I'm gonna talk about

(12:14):
after the break exactly how I work this product.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Okay, how much is it?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
So this little guy is forty five dollars forty five, yeah,
which I feel like is a bit pricey price for
a primer.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
So it's not just a primer though apparently.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
It's not just a primer.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
It also like just helps like set everything in and
it reduces like your oil production of your face, which
I love because I'm also an oily girl, so I've
got oil and sweat. So this prime is working overtime. Also,
a little goes a long way, Like if you're watching
on YouTube, this is essentially how much I use for
my whole face.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Oh and it like just actually say I know it's like,
let me just dollar tube.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
It spreads so well, like that whole little bit like
spreads across my whole face.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah, that goes a long way.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
It's kind of likemells kind of.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
It smells a cherry. It's got a sense it smells
like she does smell like a cherry. It's like, yeah,
cherry lolly.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
That did not expect that from the orange packaging. Yeah,
a little goes a long way. That when all of
my hand it's kind of like a clear formula.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
And it feels very like serumy you know what it
feels like to me.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
It feels like the TBH Rebound serum.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
So that's kind of like.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
But it kind of has the finish of like the
Benefit Cosmeticy Yeah primer.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Like yeah, like the professional it does. It has that
like madifying finish, and when you put your makeup on
it then kind of feels like the Elf Power Grip primer.
Oh okay, So that's my only one flag is that
when you're putting your makeup on after this primer, if
you do wear makeup after you put this on, you
do really have to work on blending your makeup more

(13:55):
so than if you'd use a cream based primer or
no primer at all, because it does.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Like grip everything.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Okay, So like if you put like little dots or
foundation or conceala, like, it will be really hard for
you to like then ungrip that from the spot you
put it on. This also doesn't work with every other
product on my face, so it's one.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Of those things they don't play together.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
They don't play together.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
So the first time I use this, I use this
with like the clinicue moisture serge cream plus the Airy
Day's Mineral sunscreen. None of those products worked together and
they kind of just like pilled up on like my
temples and like down my cheeks. And it was one
of those situations I was like, I don't have time
to fix this, so I just took it all off.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
I hate that. Yeah, I hate that so much. And
then you're like, oh, that one there.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
And I think that's similar to the poor I've had
the same issue with the professional primer. I think it's
one of those things because this is like madifying. It
like sticks onto your skin. It has like a smooth
and element to it. So I feel like you really
have to be careful with what other products you use
it with. The best way I use this is when
I don't do any makeup at all and I just do.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
And how do you find it? Then? Through the day
do you find that.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
It's so good?

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Like I sweat less and I don't think it's sweat.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
I think itally I'm less shine much less shiny. But
there's something in my head that's like where is that
oil going? Is it just stuck in my skin? Like
is it just there like festering away? Because I hate
wearing makeup to the gym, but I also don't want
to look shitty for my dinner.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
So it gives you that nice blurring effect, a.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Nice blurring effect, and then after the gym, I can
put a little bit of makeup on, and by the
time the modifying is not that intense, so it works
out really well.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
But I've been using this every day.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
So we thinking nail.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
I'm thinking it's a nail. It's a good one. You're glowing.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Two nails.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Okay, I want to try that because I feel like
I'm more sweaty than ever.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Oh yeah, so I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
But you want to have dry skin, so be careful
of that, okay, because I might drive a whirl Okay,
two nails.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
We haven't heard a long time.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Now, now now, ding ding ding.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Thank you so much for listening to this episode of
Tried and Tested.

Speaker 2 (16:04):

Bag with Kelly and Sarah Murray.
