Speaker 1 (00:10):
You're listening to Amma Mia podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Mama Mia acknowledges the traditional owners of land and waters
that this podcast is recorded.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
On Makeup is My Therapy. I'm obsessed and I don't
even feel guilty a body. Hello, and welcome to you
the Daily Podcast. Your Face. I'm Kelly McCarran. You sound
very calm. I am. I am calm, except I'm not.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I'm excited because it's Friday and we get to talk
about all of our favorite products from the week.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
So on Fridays we talk about our spend eis our savings,
something new to us or the industry, and something we've
recently finished or about to finish or love. And I
don't really want to deally Delly because I'm excited. So Kelly,
what's happening?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Well, later on in the show, I'm going to tell
you all about some hugely popular products that now come
in giant.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Size, hugely popular, hugely huge. I love a mini and
I love a huge, exactly big and small. I don't
want medium, but I do plus if it's a quarter
pound of meal. Okay, I want you to start with
your savy.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Spendy Baby, spendy Baby.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
My savy is the Revlon Illuminance Serum Concealer.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yes, have you tried it?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
I have?
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I love it. It is I've got the wrong shade.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
At the time of recording, it is on special for
fourteen ninety full price, it's twenty nine ninety five.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
It's Revlon. You can always get it somewhere on special.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, I think I got the wrong shade, which is
why I haven't kept using it.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
But I liked the texture.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Well, this shade is a medium four. So this isn't
for my underayes. This is for like my face. I
do slightly light to under eyes. But in terms of
just like my face when I'm got like a little
bit of a tan on, would you just look at
that coverage?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
But it's not caky.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
When it's called illuminance, I wouldn't say it's illuminating at all.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Well, they've got the illuminance range, so there's a foundation
of BB and now there's like.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
A Charlotte til Redupe right, so it's a whole rain.
I actually don't like that, although I have only tried
at once.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I didn't but I didn't like it. But there's a
lot to choose from in that category. I think everyone loved. Yes,
it has got such good coverage. Maybe that's without a
looking cakey. Yeah, I agree, honestly, it's smooth.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yes, yeah. Concealers are so hard to nail, which is
why you get the harder concealer gets, which is why.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
And young people don't really need it, so like that's anoximoron.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
And that's like why often so many of the concillers
we recommend might be more expensive because the formulas are
just simply better.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
But this is outstanding.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
My savor is so wonderful. It is called I've been
on a big K beauty and J beauty shopping hall,
like I've got so much on the way I can't
even tell you. So this one is from Yes Style.
It's the Judy Doll Slim liquid eyeliner.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Full price.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
It's thirteen dollars and fifty cents at the time of recording,
it's on sale, but you know that's the price of
your iced coffee. Have you ever seen a liquid eyeliner
this fine before? Look?
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Oh, look at that.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
It is so so fine. Do you want to know
why I love it? Because I mean, I have my
very word. I have a plate black, deep brown, medium brown,
gray brown, and another type of gray brown. I love
it because you can tilt your head back on the
top of your lash line. It's almost looks like you've
just had like that root of a lash tint. Like
(03:29):
it doesn't necessarily look like you're wearing a liquid liner.
You just kind of stiple it or just drag it
along your top lash line and it just makes the
root of your lashes look really rich and dark. I
often do that, don't do a flick and just kind
of protect your look full of yes, full, have a play.
It is the finest eyeliner I have ever found. It's
so affordable. It's once it dries, it's hard.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
To get off.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
You can push harder and get a thicker line, but
it's just so fine.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
And that is the finest I've ever seen. That's the
finest I've seen.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
And because it's a dark brown and I'm my brows
are dark brown, I've also used it to feather stroke
my eyebrows.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
I see how.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
I don't like a chubby Yeah, it's one of those
like felt text of styles. I don't like a chubby
one because I feel like it's harder to get fine,
but fine is easy to build up. Yes, Judy Doll,
and then when I bought so much Juty Doll, I
hasn't come back yet.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
I don't know who Judy Doll is.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Well, when it arrives, I shell test and report back
on all the winders.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
What's your spendy?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Okay, my spendy is the KMS Color Vitality Intense gloss treatment.
It's so good at Like, recently, I chopped off all
my hair, so I don't.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Really need to we haven't even talked able. I don't
really need to worry about things like dead. But you
well if you don't take care of it now exactly.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
And so the idea is that I chopped off all
of my hair and then I'm going to grow it
back out.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Again, still past your shoulders. But it was SHOLDI okay
to shoulders. I didn't have any qualms about chopping off
it was.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
This one is really good because you know how often
like bond repairing products actually aren't that nourishing because they're
treating the inside.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, they're making them strong, but can feel strawy. Exactly.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
This one does both, and I think it's because it's
a gloss treatment, so it's treating the protein bonds like
the inside of.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
It, but it also feels really silky.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Okay, And now may I ask is this a travel power? No,
that's just I love that though for travel, for like
not taking up too much room. Because you also don't
do a mask or a treatment all that often, So
I don't like a giant thing in my shower because
I'm like, you don't deserve that real estate because you're
not frequently called upon exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
I love it. I do just feel like, is it
for blondes because it's purple? No?
Speaker 3 (05:34):
No, no, no, it's white, so you totally like the
cream is white? Full price? It's thirty eight ninety five
from Adoor Beauty. At the time of recording, it's thirty.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
One far to shampood hair for three to five minutes. Great,
so it's a twenty minute thing. Oh god, exactly how good?
And can I smell? So I'm in the market for
an your hair. Oh I think you like this one.
It's not overpowering at all, but it's yummy. Yeah, yum.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Okay, how much thirty eight ninety five full price for
one hundred mil Okay, so yeah that's expensive, but a
little goes a long way.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yes, yeah, it does.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
I still do have pretty thick hair, so it's definitely
more affordable than some other hair masks.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
But I don't think you'd get ages out of Yeah yeah, yeah, fair, fair, fair,
all right. My spendee is in my shower and I
didn't bring it because it was wet. It is the Maturium,
the energizer, Mandelic acid, body wash, Collie God.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
This isn't a s bendy.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
It's not, but my eyeline. I was thirteen dollars. This
is such a bargain. I'm just trying to bring the
coze Limbs Vibe five hundred meals. I love it, love it,
love love used it. It is, they say, a cooling
for me, A lot that deeply cleanses and neutralizes body odor.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
So hands up.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
If you're a switzy Sally, hands up, iy perimenopausal, Well
that's me.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I'm just a sweaty person. In general. It is so humid.
It's very old. In the Mum of Me podcast studio.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
It's fine to be sweaty, but you don't want to
be stinky, sweaty shit.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
And like I just sometimes I'm like, oh, at the
end of the day, I'm running around, I do twenty
thousand steps a day, just working like I don't know
how I know, and I'm a smelly person.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
I'm sorry this feels when it says cooling, it does so.
I like doomer pits, domer bits shower showering. You use
it in your bit. I use it in my bits
in well, not inside, but.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Like to wash because that gets ititchy too. It's fine,
I've got likely sure, well use it where you look.
Have a look on the It says everyone's going to
be getting gentile mandelic acid. I get perymnipersal sweats down there.
I'm happy to say that. When you get out of
the sharon, dry yourself, then you feel the cooling.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
It's like your body's had.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
A mentoss oh, and it definitely does help fight sweaty
body odor.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I feel like I just haven't noticed the cooling, but
maybe I just you got the pain about it, well
I didn't.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
I love everything from nuturium, all the body beautiful, but
this one, as it's summer now and it's sweaty, it
just really feels refreshing and I smell better all over.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Move on, OK.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Declaration after the breat Kelly, I can't wait to tell
you about my newbie, because guess what you told me
to a newbie anything else, it's new, okay, so Kel,
A little while ago, you talked about a brand in
general called Miss Morning.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
I kind of just like, I didn't know that much
about it, but I told everyone about it because it
was a brand new brand and the products that had
tried were great.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
So I went home and I tried the get Ready
antioxidant brightening bi phase face oil.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Now I love a biphase.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I love a by phase, which means when you look
at a product, it's kind of like got oil on
the top, water at the bottom or vice versa, like
it looks separated and then you shake it.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
So I tried this.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Which was a risk because it's antioxidant and brightening, so
you're going to use it in the morning exactly. But
it's a face oil, and I'm a combo girl, but
it really truly is by phase, and that when they
say it's an oil, it's more of an emulsiony kind
of serum. I would say it's a serum like it's oily,
but it dries down like it feels plumpy, but it
dries down enough that I can then do SBF and makeup,
(09:00):
and I look glowy but not oily.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
I don't know what products you've tried. Smells nice.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
I mean, I know I've used it before, but I've
never popped it all over my hands. So full prices
seventy dollars. This is an Aussie brand, right kel, Yes.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yes, small Aussie business.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
So beautiful packaging like chunky glass bottles would be a
really good gift.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
They also offer subscription.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I've tried this and them get Ready Face No the morning,
good Morning Face serum or something, but this is just
really delicious. If you kind of want a one step juicy,
plumpy face serum for the morning, give it a go.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
What's your newbie?
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Mine newbie is more of a category because I'm sort
of talking about a couple of products which I don't
think I've done before.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
But it's just a cheating but I like it.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
It's a trend that I've noticed in the industry, so
I wanted to highlight two great brands that have done it,
you know how like when you have a favorite. On
Monday's episode, we were talking about loyalty.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
You're loyalty products.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
And you're like, oh my god, it's so annoying having
to repurchase often or you forget, or it's something that
you just all use in your house or you know exactly,
so you sometimes think, gosh, I wish that did come
in a bigger product or maybe an easier to use
whatever it is. So the banging body ferming cream, that
one has been so popular ever since they launched, however
(10:16):
long ago.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
It is usually in a tube, a thirty mel tube.
Give me that's you among thiss it's four hundred.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Milligram ginormous, so it's four hundred milligrams.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
So it's the exact same formula.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
The body lotion firming body lotion forty eight dollars for
one hundred and fifty mils or ninety eight dollars for
four hundred mills. Yeah right, So it's still expensive, but
such better value, such better value. Of course, these products
are really expensive, but you're getting better value totally. Now
the next products, I'm still trying to figure out the
(10:50):
math in terms off they're actually better value.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
They're definitely not worse value anyway.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
That is a big Good Genes Sunday Riley two of
their favorite, like most popular serums. So the Good Genes,
which is their lactic acid treatment and then the vitamin
C brightening serum. They have released them in one hundred
mill sized bucks.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I ever seen a serum that big in my life.
Neither have I.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
It's one honey, I shunk the kidney, blew up my serum. Yes, wow,
that's so good. I mean, that's got to be better value.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
How much it comes in fifteen, thirty, fifty and one hundred,
Well at least and fifty is the best value, which
doesn't really make much sense. So I don't know if
it's just like a glitch on the Mecca website.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
But regardless, if you love these.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Products, I mean, they are great products that is going
to last you do you know what I thought? I
just bought the really big ultraviolet body sunscreen, the big
blue pump, because my husband loves that, my son loves it.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
It's a sunscreen.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Everyone will use it feel like the kitchen when they
go to preschool's work daycare outside and it's just like again,
not a tube, like literally, walk past pump off, you.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Go, yeah, so good, so good.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
So aren't either like a mini or a big yeah
boppa exactly love her.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
None of these regularize products. After the break, I influenced
Lee with her newbie. She influenced me to hunt something
out of my stash.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Whewo, shut mustache. All right, what did I influence you
about so recently? I I'm just not in a tanning error. Yeah,
me neither. I can't be bothered. I just can't be bothered.
But I wanted a bit of a glow.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
And I was having a look through my stash and
I found the news of bronze gradual tanning lotion that
you told me about months ago.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yes, so good. It gives you a proper tent.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
That's what I've got on too, because I can't be
bothered a dark taw. It's a strong gradual, I would say.
But it's a clear moisturizer type lotion. So I do
it at night, get into bed, don't care because my
sheets don't have to get yucky.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
You're not going to get yuck because it's a gradual.
It's fine.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
The only weekend someone said to me, wow, that's such
a nice color. Is that You're like, I do not
town naturally. No, this is a great gradual. Yeah, it's
such good gradual. It's thirty nine ninety five for two
hundred mils. I've used it now about five times.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Though maybe I got a bit too liberally. Maybe you
do go a little bit liberal. But great Aussie brown
from NUSA, great Aussie brand.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
The only thing is just because it's gradual doesn't mean
you don't wash your hands after it.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Oh no, you've definitely got a particularly in between your
finger webs.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
No, because it's a strong you think.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
With a gradual though, you're like, oh, just slap it,
just go, oh, that'll do, and then the next week
oh whoopsies.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
No, it's very good.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
It's not a lovely female founded business from NUSA, so
that's a good one to support. Mine is also a
female founded business. So a little while ago now, Kelly
and I talked about skin cycling and where to use
an led mask and at home needling, and I talked
about how I don't really do at home needling on
my face anymore, but guess what I've been doing?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Oh god, so wow, not on my face.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
So we were vagina after.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
You've used your mintiness on it, can you imagine?
Speaker 2 (13:53):
No. When we went overseas a few months ago, my
son and I got attacked by mosquitos in Spain, and
these mosquitos were like helicopters. Then I itch in my
sleep without knowing.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
So I've had.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
These big purple scars on my legs because I've itched,
and then I've obviously picked off the scab, and who
doesn't love picking? And it got really bad. So what
I've been doing is using this. It's a relatively new
brand called Bowie. I've got the complete kit, so it's
like a micro needling roller, then the chill serum interestingly
and excellently a cleaning spray for your little roller because
(14:25):
it's so important to make sure it's antibacterial and a
look good. And then you put the little thing back
in the head, like the head back on so the
spikes don't get it bent. Yes, that's why I didn't
bring it, because I was like, interesting, very cute. Oh,
the packaging is amazing. I didn't use the serum for
quite a while because I thought it said chili serum
and it's red, so I was like, why would I
want to put something zesty on after rolling. It's the
chill serum, so it calms it down.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Yes, But what I was.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Doing is derma roll, derma rol grmarole, And then I've
been using silicon gel.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Oh, literally after.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Two weeks, my scars are eighty percent gone. I still
won't dermal roll on my face only because I can
afford needling in salon, not that I've had any this year,
but I'm just not going to do my face. But
for the scarring on my legs, particularly now we're in
summer and I've been wanting to wear something shorter, but
like my ankles look like I was attacked by killer bees.
This has been great, So dermarole and then probably use
(15:14):
the serum that comes with it. But I've been using
silicon gel and it's.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Mean bloody one. Love the branding.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah, so the Brandy Cue Bowie and the complete kits
one hundred and forty four dollars if you want to
get the whole thing, or you can get individual products.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
I Am going to try microneddling on my legs again.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Do it.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
I mean I wouldn't do it if I had all over,
but like I've got no like on my little scars
from scratching things.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Yes, and what you should do.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
I spoke to my girlfriend who's a clinician, and she said,
when it's purple is the best time because it's still healing.
So obviously older scars are harder, but when it's purple
is a really good time. Silicon gel as well as microneddling,
and then anything if you've got a pigment inhibitor is
really good.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Okay much think.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
However, thank you so much for joining us today. We
hope that was helpful and a little bit funny. We
love being in your ears.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
We do.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
I don't know why, but that sounds like a little
bit pervy and like intrusive, and your ears like a
queue tip, except apparently when.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Up to supposed to book, but I still do you.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Beauty is produced by Cassie Merritt with audio production by
Lou Hill and We're going to see you on Monday. Bye.
M hm
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Hm
