Good afternoon. I'm Susie Nordquist and this is your midday
news fixed for Friday, the sixth of September. Police have
launched a homicide investigation over the death of a woman
in Dargaville. Joanna Sioni Lawaki's body was found at the
start of last month between Ormamari and Arlanga Beaches. Police
are asking for sightings of a white twenty twelve Toyota

dog cages on the back, as well as the victims
black Mitsubishi Outlander. Detective Inspector Alsimon says they're also looking

Police are launching a homicide investigation after a shooting in
Auckland's Gray Lynn. Authorities were alerted to the sounds of
gun shots on Tourungi Road just before seven last night.
One person with critical injuries died at the scene. Three
others are in hospital with gunshot wounds. The Herald's Jamie
Lyith says armed police are still there and investigation personnel

are arriving.

The ACT Party is lashing out at Health New Zealand
for targeting free GP and nurse healthcare based on race.
Health end z and hawks Bay has amended the two
year scheme, which used to be available to all residents
aged fourteen to twenty four. Jordan Dunn has more.

From this month. Young people in hawks Bay must meet
one of four criteria, including being Maori or Pacific, to
be eligible for the scheme. ACT Health spokesperson Todd Stevenson
says the methodology is lazy and divisive. He says there
are plenty of good reasons for targeting health services, but
argues race is not one of them.

Nigel Latter says he's doing well following his announcement of
a cancer diagnosis last night. The fifty seven year old
TV star and psychologist has been a vocal ambassador for
Bell cancer prevention since his father died of the disease.
He says scan show the lymph node previously detected has
