Good afternoon. I'm Malcolm Jordan and this is your midday
news fix for Tuesday, the twenty sixth of November. Former
National MP Nicki Kay has died aged forty four, after
a long battle with cancer. A friend told our newsroom
she was in great form a few months ago, but
went downhill quickly. Kay was twenty eight when she entered

Parliament in two thousand and eight. She served as Auckland
Central MP from then until twenty twenty, and also held
positions in cabinet. News talk z edb's senior political correspondent,
Barry Soaper says Kay was very popular in Auckland. She
was a young politician, but an ambitious politician. She was
