fixed for Thursday, the fifth of December. People in Selwyn
are being asked to steer clear of lighting any fires
as firefighters battle a major scrubland fire in the Southern Alps.
It started near Canterbury's Lake Pearson about four thirty this
morning and residents of Castle Hill Village have been told
