Good afternoon. I'm Malcolm Jordan and this is your midday
news fix for Tuesday, the tenth of December. State Highway
five will be closed today between Rotorua and Waimungu for
investigations after a horror crash last night. Four people have
died and two have been hospitalized after the crash just
before eight pm. It follows a bad weekend on the roads,

with five people killed in crashes in topor, Tai Hapei
and Canterbury. The Rotorua Daily Posts Ben Fraser says he
saw some emotional responses at the crash cordon.

Follow there cave people visibly upset, had parked at the
cordon and began walking down the highway towards the crash scene.

Mixed messages surrounding Health New Zealand's nurse staffing system. Nurses
are walking off the job and rolling strikes across the country.
The Nurses Organization cites in adequate staffing and low pay
and concern about staffing system changes, but Northern Deputy Chief

That will help reduce the worries and misinformation, disinformation and
the fears that don't know what's being taught, but not
