this update of vehicles crashed into a police car in
Northland injuring four people. Police attended a single vehicle crash
on State Highway fourteen in Mangatarpari at around twenty to
nine last night. While they were investigating that crash, another
vehicle veered across the road, hitting their patrol car and

striking an officer trying to get out of the way.
The second driver was also hurt. It's believed fatigue and
alcohol are factors. Northland District Commander Superintendent Matt Surroy says
there's always a risk with officers being on the road.
He says they take a lot of care, flashing red
