In this update, a scene examination is underway in Featherstone
and a homicide investigations been launched following the death of
a man. Yesterday. Just after four pm, police responded to
reports of a firearm been shot at a vehicle leaving
a Fresh Choice supermarket car park in Featherston. A short
time later, a man was found in Carterton with an

Police say a second vehicle fled the scene and was
intercepted without incident at Kaitoki. They say two occupants were
taken into custody and their involvement is a focus of
the investigation. Police say they'd like to hear from any
witnesses and a scene examination will continue in Featherston over
the coming days.

For the first time since November ceasefire rockets are again
flying across the Israeli Lebani border. A number of rockets
flew into Northern Israel from Lebanon but were intercepted. This

World Vision study shows people in sixteen countries need to
work more than one week to pay for basic foods.
Spokesperson Rebecca Armstrong says without intervention, an estimated five hundred
and eighty two million people will be undernourished by twenty thirty.
