From the News TALKSADB newsroom. This is NEWSFACS. In this update,
there's wild weather across the country as Aucklander's recuperate from
an intense electrical storm overnight. Communities in Mount Albert, Mount Roskill,
Sandringham and Only Hunger are flooded with up to one
hundred and ten millimeters of rain in localized areas last night.

(00:25):
Vector says twenty thousand homes in the region lost power
during the storm and they have one thousand people working
to repair the damage. Met Service meteorologist Alec Holdron says
Aucklanders can expect more rain today.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
We are not expecting anywhere close to what we saw overnight.
That is not to say that Cyclone PAM is without bite.
There are still the potential of thunderstorms forming.

Meanwhile, Met Service has issued heavy rain warnings for Taranaki
and the northwestern corner of the South Island. Earlier warnings
for Gisbon and the Bay of Plenty have lifted. The
Coromandel State Highway twenty five at Hickawai is also closed
by flooding. Hopes New Zealand will be able to weather
the storm of global trade turmoil better than most US

President Donald Trump's tariffs have cast a wide net of
uncertainty reshaping the world's economies. Aut Economics professor Evan Winchester
forecasts a zero point zero three drop in our GDP,
stemming largely from the conflict between the US and China,
but he says the impacts on New Zealand will be
in direct as we don't rely exclusively on these markets.

It's going to be a challenging time for everyone, but
I think Uhila has some relatively diverse free trade agreement
that are building trade relating elsewhere. A warning to be
vigilant with your home security if you're off to make
the most of the long weekend. Tower Insurance data shows

I think for pace wise, it's hard to tell right now.
I think we definitely need to find some time relative
to some of our competitors in the midfield. But obviously
Alpinland very strong this morning, looked strong again in P two.
Williams are fast. We need to probably make a step,

Is an All Blacks rest on the cards for Crusaders
fullback Will Jordan ahead of their next Super Rugby game.
The twenty seven year old played in his ninth consecutive
Super Rugby game in the win over the Blues in
christ Church. Crusader's coach Rob Penney has no intentions of
resting Jordan anytime soon, but says conversations are ongoing with
the All Blacks coaching staff that sports I'm Sandy Hodge.
