this update reports one person's been seriously injured and two
others have moderate injuries after a light plane crash in
the Bay of Plenty. Emergency services were called to a
rural residential property in Matata, northwest of Fakatane around quarter
past three. Local construction sector suppliers are being assured not

to fear foreign competition. The government's now allowing thousands of
overseas building products to be utilized in projects and developments here. Plasterboard,
clodding systems, doors and windows could now be imported for
use if they meet quality standards. Building in Construction Minister
Chris Penk says New Zealand businesses should not worry about
being priced out of the market by international competitors. They

won't be any ways off because of providing a great
product and it's already here so that doesn't need to
be imported, but the cost associated with it and they'll
be able to continue to do well. Experts are calling
for urgent research into what's causing rising homelessness here. The
Marian Pacific Housing Research Centers concerned relevant data are either

Muller says the government won't make it a priority unless
there's research about the scale of the problem. The government's
taking aim at council's use of road cones. Transport Minister
Chris Bishop says people have become irritated by over the
top use of road cones and costly traffic management around
road works. Mister Bishop says NZTAS required its state highway

contractors to shift from an overly prescriptive code of practice
to a more pragmatic guide. Councils will need to do
the same before government funding will be approved. The Foreign
Minister says New Zealand's falling behind when it comes to
smart immigration policy. Winston Peters says wise countries make sure
their immigration plans account for both their economic and social targets,

but mister Peters believes New Zealand is no longer one
of those countries.

smart policy with a nationalistic interest that looks after those
who are in New Zealand first.

That's news in Sport. Devastation for New Zealand swimmer Erica
Fairweather at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. Fairweather has
been disqualified in her four hundred meters freestyle heat for
a false start. She's also in the two hundred and
eight hundred meters freestyle. A perfect start As black Caps
coach has Rob Walter boyant about the future. New Zealand

capped off their T twenty try series in Zimbabwe, beating
South Africa in the final, lust winning all five matches
across the series. Walters says it's a dream come true
to coach internationally.
