From the News Talk's Eddy Newsroom. This is Newsffects. In
this update, the government's opening the doors to fund more
events through a new seventy million dollar package. It includes
forty million dollars to secure large scale international events from
next year and a ten million dollar fund to support
existing events. The package is made up of forty five
million dollars of new money and twenty five million dollars

from existing funding. Tourism Minister Louise Upstance says they want
to be more flexible with event funding.

say yes. We want more great events here because we
know the significant impact that has on our hotels, our restaurants,
our visitor attractions.

Advocates welcome the government's Fetal alcohol Spectrum Disorder strategy. The
seven million dollar plus plan focuses on preventing FASD by
improving diagnosis and support and strengthening services over the next
three years. FASD effects up to five scent of babies
born here every year. FASD CAN CEO Stephanie Sadler says
