In this update, a red strong wind warning will stand
force for Canterbury until later this afternoon. Med Service issued
the EMERT with severe gale northwesterlies of one hundred and
fifty kilometers an hour forecast in exposed places. Far An
Emergency Mid South Canterbury District Commander Rob Hands says people

shouldn't light fires and check on any old ones that
they're put out completely. Following several scrub fires in Canterbury
this week.

northeast of Ohamadoo. Farign Emergency says six crews arrived following
reports of trees on fire. A spokesperson says they've extinguished

In the North Island, firefighters are on the scene of
a blaze at a five story commercial premises in Auckland's
Epsom this morning. A foreign emergency spokesperson says they were
alerted to the fire on the ground floor at five
thirty am. They say six trucks are in attendance and
a fire investigator is en route. Overseas and a barrage

of Russian missiles and drones have killed at least three
people and injured more than thirty others in Ukraine. Ukraine's
air forces around six hundred drones were launched in the attack.
Russia said the strikes targeted military industrial facilities. Russia also
