this update, the children of an Northland man who was
attacked and killed by dogs is pleading for dog owners
to do better. Open Justice reports sixty year old Able
Widder has been sentenced to three years six months jail
time after his dog's fatally mauled Neville Thompson in August
twenty twenty two. Whirra had been staying with mister Thompson

in Pungaroo at the time and keeping his twenty three
dogs confined in a caravan that had not been fed
in two days when they escaped and attacked. In a
victim impact statement, mister Thompson's daughter urged authorities to strengthen
regulations and ensure dog owners are held accountable for their
animal's care. Diversions remain in place in central Fielding after

a serious two vehicle crashed this afternoon. Police were called
to Hulcombe Road near Mount Taylor Drive around half past two.
The road's been closed and motorists urged to avoid the area.
A green light for New Zealand Shan's film and television
sector as a new industry body launchers to draw in
more international productions. The newly formed Screen end Z International

international screen projects and ensure long term stability in the sector.
Vice chair Harry Harrison says one of their core objectives

Seven little blue penguins and are the stars of a
new exhibit that open today at the West Coast Wildlife
Center in Franz Joseph. Each of the penguins are survivors
who've been rehabilitated after injury. Unable to return to the wild,
they've become ambassadors for conservation. West Coast Wildlife Center Director
Richard Venton says the penguins have important stories to tell birds.
