In this update, Surf Life Saving New Zealand says its
lifeguards trying to resuscitate two people pulled from the water
in Northland yesterday evening. Police say they were called to
the area between Mahoota Gap and Glinks Gully just before
seven pm yesterday when two people were struggling in the water.

Surf Life Savings says lifeguards from Bailey's Beats responded to
the incident after being allerged of two people caught in
a rip. They say the location was seventeen kilometers south
of its Bailey's Beach patrolled area. The first lifeguards at
the scene found both men in the water and unresponsive.
They returned to the beach to commence CPR. They were
unable to save the pair.

The weather is set to improve for many today after
a dreary start to the weekend. METT Service forecaster Jared
Ballam says the North Island should get a bit of
a reprieve. He said showers and heavy rain warnings will
start to expire form this morning. Auckland's watercre says it's
upgrade of the Clark's Beach wastewater treatment plant on the
city's southwest is progressing well. The population is set to

grow to thirty thousand by twenty fifty. The upgrade, due
to be finished in June, will allow for growth and
better treatment of sewage. Southwest Program manager Dave Kennerley says
twenty twenty five has been busy for Cruise.

equipment items, two switch gear panels, and we're going to
be commissioning or starting to commission this equipment in twenty

A summer weddings not on the cards for ACT leader
David Seymour, but he's in no rush. Seymour proposed to
his partner, Auckland buyers agent Alexandra Martelli, on a Californian
beach last summer. The Deputy Prime Minister says the pair
will be spending much of the summer in Auckland, but
he says the wedding won't be happening just yet.

World Starts Champion titles. Luke the Nuke laid waste to
Gianne fan Faine, cleaning up the Dutchman's seven to one
in the Ali Pali finale. Littler told Sky Sport he
had to lift the trophy again.

I had to do it twice. Won Ofka Friski Is Finley,
Malville Ives and Ben Harrington have scored top eight placings
in the FAS half Pipe World Cup Tour event in Calgary.
Malvill Ives was a superb second, while Harrington delivered his
best result of the season with an eighth place finish.
