Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hey it's Delilah.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Are you and your significant other the epitome of opposites?
I don't mean you say tomato? He says tomato, who,
by the way, says tomato. I've never met anyone that
actually says tomato. Maybe you're like leather and lace. One
of you is kind of rough and tumble and outdoorsy
(00:41):
and wild, and one of you is more refined and
classy and more demure. We love intriguing love stories. We
love hearing how you make your life work as a couple.
So if you've got a great story, share it with us.
I would love to hear your story. Hi, good evening,
(01:02):
you've called the Delilah Show.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Who is this?
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (01:05):
This is Liriz calling Hi.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Liz, This is Delilah. What can I do for you tonight?
Speaker 5 (01:11):
I wanted to play a beautiful song for my husband,
going to be ten years this year. We've been together seventeen.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Tell me about this man you love and why you
said yes all those years ago.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Well, he is somebody who I met a little later
in life. We met each other in our late thirties,
and I'm a dancer and he's a businessman, and he's
the sweetest, most understanding, loving man. We love our kids,
(01:45):
who are now in their thirties. It's just been an
incredible ride, and I'm so grateful and I love him
more than anything in the world.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
So you're a dancer, he's a business man. That means
he knows how to properly load and unload the dishwasher, probably,
and where every tupperware lid is and his socks are
neatly folded together. Yours, however, maybe like in the tupperware,
your socks might end up in the tupperware.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
You're not sure.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
How did you know?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Uh huh, uh huh.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
You've been around dancers, artists.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I understand the way this works.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
And you leave a room and you say I'll be
right back, and then two hours later you re emerge
and he said, where did you go? And you say, well,
I went in the bedroom to look for that yellow jacket.
But then I saw a necklace that I had broken earlier,
and I decided to restring the beads. And while I
was restreating the beads, you know, my daughter called and
(02:47):
I laid down on the bed to talk to her
and I fell asleep.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
Yes, yes, that's it.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Uh huh. And he just smiles and loves you all
the more.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
Yes he does.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Is there a a favorite song that you two share
or can I find one for you?
Speaker 5 (03:04):
If you feel like playing some bond job?
Speaker 1 (03:07):
All right, let me see what I can do for
you in the meantime. You have a wonderful, wonderful night.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Thank you, Delilah, and you too. I want an honor
to talk to you really love.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
You, Love you, honey, God bless you.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is this, Darren?
Who's on your heart this evening?
Speaker 4 (03:34):
My fiance Mary?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
And tell me about your sweetheart?
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Uh? Well, I actually met her in the strangest of places,
in a library. She's a librarian.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
You're marrying a librarian?
Speaker 8 (03:47):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Now? Is she?
Speaker 6 (03:48):
You know like those girls that look like they're real
quiet and real mellow, but when you take her out
and you're having fun, she kicks it into high gear
and she's a wild thing.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
No, she actually, this is the funny thing. I'm the
proverbial bad boy and she is the good girl.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
So opposite's definitely attracted.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Yeah, because I was into Harley's and you know, choppers
and hanging out with bikers and everything else. And when
I met her, my whole world got turned upside down.
And she's the most amazing woman I've ever met. And
I wish I could climb to the top of the
Eiffel Tower and screaming at the top of my lungs
how perfect she is and how much I'm in love
(04:28):
with her. And I figured this was the next best thing.
Is if I could get a hold of you, that way,
the whole world could do well.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
I don't know about the whole world, but certainly quite
a few folks will hear this.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yes, And what's her name again?
Speaker 4 (04:41):
Her name is Mary?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
And did you have a song that's your song? Or
you want me to find one?
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Could you find one?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I will do that for you. You have a great nine.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
You too, Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Bye bye bye bye, Vanessa. Welcome. This is Delilah. Who's
on your heart tonight?
Speaker 7 (05:08):
Oh it's my husband Jason.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Tell me about Jason.
Speaker 7 (05:11):
Oh, we're total opposites from each other. We're both different races,
different heights. I'm much taller than him. We're different religions
and we're very much different ages. I'm older than he is,
but we're so.
Speaker 8 (05:29):
Let me understand this, girlfriend. You married a shorter, wider,
younger man.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah, and smaller, how much younger?
Speaker 7 (05:44):
Fifteen years?
Speaker 8 (05:48):
And you keep him on his.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Toes, don't you?
Speaker 7 (05:51):
No, we're happy.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
How many years have you been married?
Speaker 7 (05:55):
We've just been married six months this past Sunday and
it's going really well.
Speaker 8 (06:00):
Okay, Now, personality wise, are you opposites? Are you like
a neat freak and he's a slob or he's a
neat freak and you're a messy one.
Speaker 7 (06:08):
Oh? Actually we're physically different, but everything else we're basically
the same. That's why we get along.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
So will Congratulations Vanessa.
Speaker 8 (06:20):
I hope that your colorful, interesting life brings you great joy.
Speaker 7 (06:26):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Is this Jamie Ann?
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Yep?
Speaker 9 (06:36):
This is Jamie Anne.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Hi, Delilah, how are you?
Speaker 9 (06:39):
I'm good? Thank you?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Who's on your heart tonight?
Speaker 9 (06:42):
It's this very special person and his name is Brad.
He's my poor friend, and we just spent three months
ago and he has practically made me so happy in
my life. I've never been this happy before. And We're
both from two different backgrounds. I'm Indian and he's Greek,
(07:03):
and I never thought that two years ago I would
be meeting such a wonderful person in my life.
Speaker 8 (07:09):
Well, the good news is you both like really strong
flavored foods.
Speaker 9 (07:17):
Yes, that is true. I must admit that is very true.
Speaker 8 (07:21):
I'm trying to look for other similarities between these two
cultures and that's the only one that's coming to mind
real soon.
Speaker 9 (07:28):
Well, we're both very open minded, and so are our parents.
And his mom is one of the most wonderful people
I've met, and he's always been there for me. And
just three months seems like forever.
Speaker 8 (07:40):
Now, where did you an Indian woman fall in love
with a Greek man.
Speaker 9 (07:45):
Well, we both worked together at the same place and
he walked up to me at the service desk and
it was so funny. He had come in for a
job interview and I had mistaken him for someone else,
and I thought he knew my manager. Sure, so I
let him go upstairs and he got the job the
very same day, and after that we just went out
(08:07):
for coffee.
Speaker 8 (08:08):
So basically it was love at first sight. It was
he saw you, you saw him, and that was it.
That's all she wrote.
Speaker 9 (08:15):
It was amazing.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I'm going to predict that you're going to call me
back within the next two years. Maybe, yeah, definitely the
next two years, telling me when when the big event is.
Speaker 9 (08:26):
Wow, I hope so. Thank you so much, Julila, it
was a pleasure talking to you.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
I still hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Each weekday on Hey It's Delilah.
