Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey it's Delilah.
What are you struggling with?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Are you burdened down under the weight of something that's
crushing you. Let me ask you a question. Is it
really that serious? There are some things that the answer
to that is yes, Yes, Delilah, it is. It's that serious.
It's cancer, it's abuse, it's it's grief, it's I've lost
(00:46):
the person closest to me. For some people, it is
that serious. But most of the time we let little
things steal our joy. We get annoyed with somebody, somebody
gets on our very last nerve, and we don't want
to talk to them. We don't want to see them,
(01:07):
We don't want to have to deal with them, which
is really hard if we're married to them, or our
job gets to us, or people cut us off in traffic,
or the bills pile up, and right now food is
so expensive. Take a deep breath, Take a deep breath,
(01:29):
and let the stress melt away for a minute. I
always say, give your problems to God. He's going to
be up all night anyway, let him deal with him. Hello,
you've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Doila? My name is Chris Hi, Chris Hi.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
What can I do for you tonight?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I would like to have a song played for the
people that are in my life that are close to me,
so that way they know that I really care for
them and they've done a lot to help me through
some of the roughest times of my life.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
All Right, tell me just a synopsis, not like the
whole book, but just a short little version of some
of the stuff that you've struggled with and who has
helped you through it.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Well, my fiance, for one. Sometimes I kind of mess
up with my financials and he's helped me out a lot.
And my family for one, like they've seen me through
more than anybody could even imagine.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
So when you say kind of messed up financially, are
we talking you wrote a check for ten bucks over
what you should have, or you went and got credit
cards and went one hundred thousand dollars over what you should.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Have, just like ten dollars.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Oh okay, all right, okay, how old are you?
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I'm twenty six?
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Okay, Well, your twenties are when you figure that out,
hopefully in your twenties. Yeah, otherwise it'll really mess up
your credit rating in your thirties.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Oh oh yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
We've already learned that. Huh. Yes, all right? What can
I play for you and your family that are there
for you through thick and thin and the lean times too.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
I actually don't have a particular song in mind. If
you could just by one night you think the situation,
that would be great.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
I will do that for you. Thank you for calling,
Thank you for listening.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (03:28):

a little more special?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Well?
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Lightly up and feeling sad and don't know why.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
I thought maybe you could play a song for me.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I can try tell me, tell me why you're you
don't know why you're feeling sad? You said, no.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Idea, No, I'm going through depression and I just thought
maybe you could play me a happy song.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Okay, I will play a happy song if you promise
me something. Yes, tomorrow you will get outside and walk
or stroll or or get some form of physical exercise
for twenty five minutes.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
If you will do that and just breathe the fresh
air and notice the beauty around you for twenty five minutes,
we got a deal.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Yes, that's the deal.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Okay, Then let me find a song for you.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Okay, thank you, Hi, good evening.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Welcome to the Delilah sholl Who is this Katie? Welcome aboard?
What can I do for you?
Speaker 3 (05:02):
I was hoping that you could play a song for
my husband. He's been going through a very rough time
and I just want to make sure he knew that
I loved him very much.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
What's hubby's name and how can I help him through
this tough time?
Speaker 3 (05:16):
So the name is Todd, and recently his son has
gotten in some trouble and he's very just stressed out,
and you know, we've been we've been kind of on
a rough spot and I was just hoping to dedicate
our song when we first danced ten years ago. John
legend all of me, So he knows that he does
have all of me and I will always be there
no matter what.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
How old is his son who's in some trouble, he's
nineteen and is it chemical trouble, is it behavioral trouble
or all of the above? All the above, and Dad's
it is wits in trying to fix it, trying to
change it, trying to get him to open his eyes.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
He opened his eyes. He's going through a rough time
trying to, you know, have him open his eyes and
just do the right thing. And you know it's hard
for him, and I hate seeing him struggle. It breaks
my heart.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Is his son and you who are close to getting help.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
He's currently incarporated, so you really he can't do much
right now, but hopefully he does matter after this.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Has he shown any signs in any conversations? Have you
heard him say things like, I'm going to go to AA,
I'm going to go to NA, I'm going to get
a sponsor, I'm going to stop doing the things that
are killing me. Have you heard him say anything that
indicates he is actually taking steps to change?
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
If I have, Okay, that's good news. I will say
a prayer and I will play a song for you.
Thank you for calling. You sound like an amazing step
mom and your husband is a blessed man. Thank you
very much, Bernadette, Hello Bernie, what can I do to
(07:05):
make your night, your spring that a little more special.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
My husband passed away three years ago, and it's coming
up to the three year anniversary. And if it's really hard,
we were together over forty two years and we have
four children together, and it was sudden he died of
cardiac arrest.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
What's your husband's name?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
His name was Dave.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
I suspect it still is. I suspect next time you
see him, you'll still call him the same thing.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
I hope, so, I hope, so.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I know we get new bodies. I don't know if
we get new names.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
We do, I'm sure destined meet him up there. So
and I appreciate everything you do. I've listened off and
on all through the years, and this is the first
time ever got through. You're wonderful. I just want you
to know that.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Well.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
I don't know what it's like to spend four be
two years loving and cherishing one person, because unlike you
and Dave, I didn't get it right the first time
or the second time. I would have to be like
a thousand years old to make it to forty two
years with my current husband. But I have friends who
(08:18):
fell in love with their best friend and they've been
married more than forty years, and it's such a beautiful thing.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
It is. I mean, there's ups and downs, but there's
more good times and bad times. So but again, we've
listened to you when he was alive. We used to
listen to you too, and your song's help and you
help with your advice and stuff. So you're a beautiful person.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Thank you. I wish I had some advice or wisdom.
I don't, but I can play a song and I
can say a prayer and ask God to comfort your heart.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Thank you so much, Deliah.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
God, bless you, Bernie, thank you for Colin. Bye bye.
I hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as much
as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share more
with you each weekday. On Ay, It's Delilah.
