them fabulous. Hi Tom, welcome aboard. What can I do
for you?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I need a favor for you if you could put
a love song off to my wife of thirty two years.
We're going strong. We've raised two kids, two boys, ones
in the military, to the other works does he does construction,
And we've had our ups and downs and everything through
the years, and she's always stuck by my side. I

(00:55):
had a terrible accident back in six which left me
totally to same and she's been right there by my
side ever since. And she's my rock, and she's my love,
and she's my heartbeat and she will always be.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
And what is this rock, heartbeat, beautiful soulmate's name?

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Mary Jane Meyer?

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Tell me what it was about Mary.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Jane that made me fall in love with her?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Well, you didn't just fall in love with her, You
are still falling in love with her. You are still
Oh yes, like a teenager falling in love.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yes, it's continuous over. What it was is we met
through my brother. It was a blind date setup, you know,
and I just fell in love with her right then
and there. We went home and I didn't see much
from her because she had a boyfriend. Well, long story short,
About nine ten months later, I get a phone call

(01:53):
it from my old roommate that she's been trying to
find me. She had gotten pray with her first boyfriend
and he abused her. A long story short. When I
met the baby for the first time, that's it. Between
the baby and her, that's where I wanted to be
the rest of my life. She said everything to me, jelilah.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I raised him as he was my own.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Your step son is your own. He might not have
your DNA, but he is definitely your son.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
He's always called me dad, he's always respected me, and
so I've been very well blessed with the Lord.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
So let me play a song for you.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
You got it, hun, did God bless you all right?

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Thank you, good evening, Welcome aboard. Who is with me
on the phone line?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Hi, My name's Faith.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Hi Faith. What can I do to add a note
of hope or charity to your night tonight.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Well, okay, so my two parents mother are my grandparents,
but they've raised me for fourteen years, and I just
thought i'd call and hope that you could take a
song for them, just as like a little thank you
for putting up with me.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
How old are you now?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I'm fourteen?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
So they they took over when you were a baby, yes, ma'am.
And do you have a relationship with your birth mom
or is it all grandma and grandpa.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I do have a relationship with my birth mother and
my birth siblings.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
And are you a teeny, teeny tiny bit spoiled by
grandma and grandpa? Yes, ma'am, Because here's the thing. Even
though they are mom and dad and they're doing the
work of mom and dad, they have the heart of grandparents,
and that means there's an extra measure of sweet spot
for you.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
So you want to say thank you? Now raise your
right hand and repeat after me. I faith, I faith,
Do hear by promise, do hear by promise in the
next three or four years for the next.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Time are your four years.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
I will not roll my eyes at my grandmother.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I will not roll at my grandmother.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I will believe that she has wisdom.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
And you'd be correct with that. I've picked up a
little bit of.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
It, and I will not talk back and.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
I will not talk back.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Okay, that's going a little bit too far. But don't
give her the eye roll. Okay, don't give her the
eye roll. Yes, ma'am, I will play a song for
your grandparents slash parents and for you because you sound
like an amazing young woman.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Hi Jonathan, Hello, Are you an old friend to the
Delilah Show? Have you been listening for years? Or are
you a fairly newcomer.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Me and my older brother have listened to you a
while back, but we're listening to you on.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
The way home.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Were you listening to me a while back when mom
was driving and making you listen because she controlled the radio.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Dial kind of a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Kind of a little bit. Yeah, And now do you
listen on your own volition or is somebody still kind of,
you know, making you listen to my sappy love songs?

Speaker 4 (05:18):
I don't know. I don't mind sappy love songs.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I don't care either way. I don't care if somebody's
making you listener, if you're choosing to listen. So long
as you are listening, I'm happy.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yeah. So well, I wanted to call because today's my birthday.
I just turned seventeen, and I would like to play
a song for my girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Happy birthday to you. Yeah, you definitely have a parent
making you listen to this if you're seventeen, What would
you be listening to if, like, if I just walked
in your room and saw you know your playlist, what
would it be?

Speaker 4 (05:53):
I like Matchbox twenty and Counting Crows food.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
You've got good taste in music.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, I got that from my other older brother.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
So, and what is your girlfriend's name that I'm playing
a song for?

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Her name is Dailey?

Speaker 1 (06:12):
And tell me what you love about Daily? Are we
using the L word? Are we using the love word?

Speaker 5 (06:17):
Or what?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Are we still in the like?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah we are, we are Okay. She's really nice and
it's very pretty and she's just all around just a
great person.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I will play something that will fit your musical taste
for you and Daily. Thank you, Jonathan, Thank you for calling. Hello,
good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who's this? Welcome

(06:49):
aboard Levon. Before we went on the air, you were
telling me there is somebody that you love, heart, mind, soul,
total in love with this person and you want to
share a message in the hopes that she's listening. Who
is this person?

Speaker 5 (07:04):
This person is my firstborn, my baby girl, my light
of my life, my everything. You are amazing, and no
matter where you are right now in the world, I
just want you to know that I'm not going anywhere,

(07:24):
and distance and physical absence does not mean that I'm
not with you. I will always be with you, and
I will always be here, and I love you and
I'm so very proud of you and you are amazing.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Did you ever watch the movie The Land Before Time?

Speaker 5 (07:40):
That's my favorite kid movie.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I love that movie. And when Littlefoot's mom would send
him the tree Star, Uh yeah, I love that.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
She's like, she's like my little foot, she's your little Foot.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Then you also said that she's your firstborn. That means
you've had at least one more. Do you have other children?
I can play this for as well.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
I have a son. He is seven years old and
he actually still sleep to you earlier, so yeah, for
them both. But I was wondering if we could play
in my daughter's eyes, for my.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Little girl I will do that.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Thank you for calling, and I hope that you are
able to look in those eyes soon.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
