Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast, Hey It's Delilah.
You know why I love doing these podcasts because we
(00:23):
can mash up some of the best calls that I've
taken recently and share them back with you. So come
on in and enjoy today's edition of Hey It's Delilah. Hi,
good evening. You've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
My name is Donald?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Donald? What can I do for you on this beautiful night.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
I's been kind of a recent one. It's been a
few and far between the last several weeks.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
How can I add peace to it? Sounds like a
a heart that hasn't seen peace in a while.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Back on the twenty sixth of July, my mother ended
up passing away, So I've been spending the last three
weeks dealing with that and having to more or less
go through everything that nobody else needed from her place.
I enjoy being in her house because it reminds me
(01:23):
of her, but the fact that she's not there kind
of tears at me.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
The fact that she's not there, and what do you
do with a lifetime of memories. What do you do
with papers that are thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, eighty years old?
What do you do with photographs of people that are
no longer here and nobody remembers them? What do you
do with all those memories?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I'm trying to preserve as many as I can, even
though I don't know where the Putram was what to
do with them. I want to keep a hold of
them because it meant something to her.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I have to admit, Donald, I am a tadbit, okay,
more than a tad bit of a hoarder, and I
think a large part of it has to do with
the fact that I was in my early thirties when
I lost my mom and my dad, and now I
hang on to stuff that has emotional attachment long past
(02:21):
the point that I should.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
I'm so one to keep it at least for a
little bit and say, if maybe I can find someone
that path it on to who could cherish it as
much as I do.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
You won't because you're not going to find anyone who
cherished your mom like you do. Yeah, I'd love to
say let it go, but since I can't do that myself,
I'm not going to give you that ad fight, because
then I'd have to take it myself. But I will
play a song. What's your mom's name?
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Noo?
Speaker 1 (02:49):
I'll play a song to honor her long, sweet life
and her tender hearted boy. How's that?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Oh, I'd really appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Good luck, I mean, God, bless you you. Hello, good evening.
You've called the Delilah Show. Who is this Brianna? Hi, Brianna?
What can I do for you tonight?
Speaker 5 (03:15):
The first thing I have to say is I listened
to you since I was a little kid, and I'm
thirty two years old now, so I want to say
thank you, But I also want to dedicate a song
to the love of my life.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
So you and I have been together for a long time,
since you were sitting in the backseat, falling asleep against
the window, against the door of the car, your seat
belt uncomfortably buckled because your mom made you buckler while
she drove home at night, and you were listening to
my sappy love songs all these years.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yeah, when I was I spent a lot of time
in the hospital as a kid, and your show got
me through a lot of the hospital stays.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
And are you okay now.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
Yes, I'm officially grown out of my disease.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Wow, that's a miracle after twenty years. Yes, I have
a couple of kids that are medically fragile, and as
they get older, they have they still have struggles, but
not like they did as kids. Yes, so today you've
got the love of your life by your side.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Who is this person that you adore?
Speaker 5 (04:29):
His name is Matt, Who've been together for going on ten.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Years though, And is he there with you this evening?
Speaker 5 (04:36):
Yes, he's downstairs right now.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
I'll play a sweet song and you can have a
time to slow dance or just snuggle in the living room.
How's that?
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Thank you so much, Silila.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Thank you Brianna for listening all these years. God bless you. Hi,
good evening. You've called it Delilah show. Who's this?
Speaker 4 (05:05):
It's Anthony?
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Hi Anthony? What can I do for you tonight? My friend?
Speaker 4 (05:11):
I just want to everybody know. I want to thank
my mother for putting it with me for forty one
years after the tough times. You know how boys can
be when they grow up, and I just want to
know if you can play a song for me for her, So.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
You're growing up now? Please tell me you're not still
putting her through stuff.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Oh no, ma'am, No, ma'am okay. And I just want
anybody to know that you know all the stuff he's
done all three years for me, teaching me to be
a young man when she was just me and her.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
So what is one of the sweetest lessons Mama taught you?
That you hold deer in your heart and it's become
a part of your character to.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Be strong and don't let anybody bring you down, no
regardless what it is.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
So keep a joyful heart, regardless of what other people
are saying or doing. That's a good lesson we could
all learn. We could all borrow that wisdom from your mama.
What's her name, Leah? Let me find a great song
for your mama. Thank you for calling, Thank you for listening.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Thank you, MoU.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Hi Jessica. This is Delilah. What can I do for you?
Speaker 6 (06:28):
I just want to dedicate a song to my husband.
We've been together for eleven years and we just spend
on an adventure together and I just want to let
him know that I love him very much.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
A good adventure, an exciting adventure, or a terrifying adventure
like a like a ride at a theme park that
went off the rails. Like what kind of adventure are
we talking here?
Speaker 6 (06:55):
A little bit of everything. We have four beautiful children together.
Just been one of those things you'll never forget.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Tell me what song you want to hear tonight?
Speaker 6 (07:07):
Oh, I'll let you pick. I've been listening to you
since I was ten years old, though, I know you
got good taste, all right.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
And what's your hobby's name?
Speaker 6 (07:14):
His name is Juan.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
And tell me the name of the four babies I.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Have, Anthony, Jamie, Carla, and Matthew.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Anthony, Jamie, Carla, Matthew. And how old are they?
Speaker 6 (07:26):
One's eleven, one's a two and ten months.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Oh my word, Mama, you got your hands full. Be blessed.
Make some some moores, and I'll find a sweet song.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Okay, thank you.
Speaker 1 (07:41):

much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey, It's Delilah.
