Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Do hi there.
How is your week going? Are the kids back in school?
(00:24):
Are they in all sorts of before school or after
school activities? Are they doing choir? Are they doing band?
Are they doing?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
What are they doing?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
My kids are back in school, and my radio station,
not this one, but a little radio station I own
on the Oregon coast is back in school. And they
had their home football game last weekend and they won.
But bigger than that is the fact that we got
(00:55):
to broadcast it the first time in like fifteen sixteen
years they've had a football game broadcast on the radio.
And I wasn't there to see it, but I was
there on the radio listening and just so thrilled. I
love high school football. If you live in a small
town with a great team or even a lousy team,
(01:16):
it doesn't matter. Go encourage that the team. Go be
a part of the community, Go get involved. If they've
got a concession booth, go buy concessions and enjoy it. Hi,
good evening, Welcome.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Who is this angela? Angela? What can I do for
you today.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
I wanted to share my story the love of my
life or I'm Mary and his name is Reyes, and
I wanted to kind of explain this whole story because
it's really kind of neat. We went out in high
school for only two weeks. It started out freshman in
(02:00):
high school and he was a senior and he was
actually the captain of the football team. So we went
out for two weeks and then I was like nothing.
At that point. He broke up with me because he
had a bunch of other girls lined up to date him,
and he was cool because he was the captain. So
I kind of just went on my way and got
(02:22):
married after I graduated high school and I had one child.
Her name's Kayla, and I was married for almost eleven
years and I got divorced and my parents, thank God
for them, they actually bought me a house for my
daughter and myself to live in when I got divorced
and I needed to buy furniture. So that's how I
(02:43):
actually met up with Reyes again because I needed furniture
and he worked at this particular store that I went to,
and we hugged each other. We were excited to see
each other and we've been together ever since.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
So now that he's not the captain of the football team,
he's got a little more time to spend he does.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
In my first marriage, I was very young and I
had a lot of growing up to do, and I
was a new mom. And now I'm settled and he's
my best friend, he's my soulmate, and I just can't
wait to have many more years with him and continue
that happiness.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
I will play a song for you.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Hi, good evening. You've called Delilah. Who is this.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
My name's Jennifer.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Hi, Jennifer. What can I do for you?
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I would love if you.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Would play a song for me and my boyfriend.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Tell me about your honey and what you want to
tell him.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
I wanted to know that I love him and he's
done so much for me these past maybe like three
and a couple months years together. He helped me through college,
he helps me now. He helps me in every way
I can think of.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
So he's supportive.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
He's very supportive, and I just want him to know that.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
And kind of course and cute.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Oh awesome. He's a football player, so you know he
looks good.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Wow, So he's all that and a bag of chips exactly.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
And he told me if I got through you, I
just better dedicate a song to him. So I finally
got through, and I'm so excited.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Good for you.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Well, because he is so supportive and so kind hearted,
I will play a song for you.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
You have a good night, you.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Too, Hi, thank you for calling. This is Delilah, who's
on the line with me.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Hi, This is Keaton Keaton. Yes, Hi, Keaton.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
I have a friend whose son's name is Keaton. Yeah,
never heard anybody else with that name before. How old
are you?
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Eight? Evil?
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Do you like baseball?
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Actually?
Speaker 5 (05:06):
My favorite sports football football?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now do you play football or do you just watch football?
Speaker 5 (05:12):
I'm going to play football my first season this year.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Would you do me a favor?
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Yeah, be careful. I will be very careful.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
US moms worry about boys getting hit playing football and
hurting your shoulders and your knees. All right, Well, that
makes me feel a little bit better. What can I
do for you tonight, sir?
Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yeah, I'm not gonna be in the same class as
most of my friends, and they've helped me through a
lot at school. I just want to you to pick
a song for for all your friends.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yeah, all right, I'll find a great song for you. Keaton.
You sound like a spectacular young man like my friend's son. Keaton.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
Okay, okay, bye bye, honey, by Hi, you've called the
Delilah Show. Who is this?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
This is Jeremiah, Jeremiah, What can I do for you?
Speaker 7 (06:14):
I would like to hear a song from my mom.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
What's her name? What do you want to tell her?
Speaker 7 (06:20):
Well, her name is Dawn. I just want to tell
her that I'm thankful for everything she does.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Now.
Speaker 7 (06:24):
She tried so hard to support me and everything. I
just had a football game tonight and her car didn't
have the right registration on it, and she tried so
hard to get a ride, and eventually she couldn't find
a ride, but she still made it. So she still
kept on trying, and that meant a lot to me.
So I just want to let her know that I
appreciate everything she does for me.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
And how'd you do in the football game?
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Son?
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (06:46):
Well we did all right. We didn't win.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
I didn't say did you win? I said how did
you do? Did you play your best?
Speaker 7 (06:53):
I gave it all I had?
Speaker 2 (06:55):
There you go? Then you did great?
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:59):
How old are you.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
I'm seventeen.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
And it matters to you that Mom's there and that
she made the effort.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
Yeah, it matters a lot because like she just you know,
she's just.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Cool like that.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
We're really close. She's like my best friend and my mom.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
So are you an only child?
Speaker 7 (07:18):
No? I have three elder siblings a twin sister.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Wow, mom's been busy.
Speaker 7 (07:24):
Yeah, she's been really busy.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
I'll play a great song for her.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
Okay, thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:32):

them to you.
