Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast, Do Love. Have
you ever had someone come alongside you and help you,

(00:22):
lift out a hand and lift you up out of
the ashes, dust you off, and help you down the
path of life. When someone comes along and helps you
and they're struggling too, their plate is loaded, their heart
is breaking, their mama is battling cancer or something, and

(00:45):
they're still reaching out to you that my friend is
not help, that's love. That is the purest form of love,
sacrificial love. When somebody is willing to pour into to
you even though their cup is pretty empty, Love them
in return, Appreciate them and tell them how much you

(01:08):
appreciate them.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Hi, good evening, Welcome to the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 3 (01:16):
This is Ali? Hi?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Ali? What can I do for you?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
I was listening to your show one night when you
were talking about angels in our life, and I wrote
you an email about an angel in mine. I met
her five years ago, and I really didn't care anymore.
I weighed almost three hundred pounds and I really didn't
care if I lived a long life. The lady I
met his name is Marcy, and she basically reached down

(01:44):
into a part that I had shut off and opened
it back up. I had basically built the cocoon around me,
and she took the layers off and is letting the
butterfly spreader wings.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
And how is she doing this?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
I met her at the gym and she was a
personal trainer, and I didn't know that when I first
saw her. I just thought she was somebody with a
great personality. And I met her the night I first
saw her. I met her that night and she gave
a tour of the gym, and she told me the
first time I met with her, I expected her to

(02:19):
give me a list of all that was wrong with
me and tell me what to do to make it right.
But instead she looked into my eyes and said, there's
nothing wrong with you. Let's just make you the best
you you can be. And she literally kicked open the
manhole cover I'd put on who I am, and she
just reached inside and say come out.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
I encourage women on Fridays to have Friday Night girls
get togethers and to reach out to other women in
friendship and love and This is why, because best friends
girlfriends can do for us what nobody else can. They
can love us despite ourself or in spite of ourselves.
They can see the good in us, and they can

(03:00):
be there through thick and thin in a way nobody
else can. Let me play a song for you two
and all forever friends out there, and I'm really proud
of you.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Thank you. I really appreciate your show. I think you're
absolutely beautiful, both inside and out.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Well, thank you. I'll see it at the gym.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Thanks.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Who is this Hi?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
My name is Jenna.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Hi, Jenna, Welcome. What can I do for you?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Well?

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I am calling because today's kind of been one of
the saddest days of my life. My best friend in
the world named Julie moved about fifteen hours away, actually
about sixteen hours away, just this morning, and I've just
kind of been crying all day. And how old are you, Jenna,

(03:52):
I'm twenty.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
So she moved away for work, for school, for what.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Kind of for school and really just who because we
don't really live in a place where there's a lot
of opportunity, and especially the kind of person she is,
she's always she's just always been the kind of person
walking a room, and five minutes later she knows everybody,
and everybody's in love with her. She's so bubbly and
just such a sweet, caring person. And I don't know,

(04:19):
she's just so upbeaten, outgoing, and she moved away to
go to school and to just live with her father.
She really needed to just start a new life. And
we've just been through everything together.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Now, how many years have you girls been friends?

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Oh gosh, I would say eight solid, solid years.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
And this is your best, best best friend that knows
everything about you. Oh, every every person you've ever kissed,
every crush you've ever had, everything evil thought you've ever.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Thought, everything. Just a good day to talk to you, because.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Because your heart is broken into a bozies.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
It's been so hard.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Just know that that this, the friendship that you're describing,
is gonna last forever, even if she's voting hours away.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
It was it was definitely meant to be.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
HI, good evening. Who is this?

Speaker 5 (05:22):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
My name is Angel, Hi Angel, I have a daughter
named Angel.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Really, are you more of an angel than she is?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Right now?

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Oh gosh, I don't think any child could be less
of an angel than me. So children are winters in
my eyes, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
So what can I do for you tonight?

Speaker 5 (05:47):
I have a question if you could possibly play a
song for somebody. She is my girlfriend, and she's my
co parent and we have a thirteen daughter together. She's
having a rough night tonight and she's looking for, you know,

(06:07):
something out there and you know, having a rough time.
And I just want her to know how much we
love and we care about her, and she is an
amazing mother, an amazing part of our life.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Names of your partner, names of your daughter.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
My partner's name is Courtney, and my daughter's name is Julia.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Okay, so rough time because of the thirteen year old,
or just a rough time in general.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
In general, because thirteen year.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Olds can sometimes you know, throw a little monkey wrench
in there and cause a rough time.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Yes, she definitely gives us for our money.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
She doesn't have a tiny bit of a hard headed
gene passed down from either side, does she.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
She definitely does. She definitely does. She is nothing but
mimicking our every move. And thank goodness that's kept my
diaries while it's growing up, so I can refer to
them and go, Okay, all right, this is the stage
that you're at now.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Okay, I remember this behavior. Yeah, yeah, see here's what
happens to me though. I go, oh, no, you don't.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
I know exactly, I know exactly what you are trying
to pull.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Been there, done that. It's not gonna work with the Mama.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Bear, exactly exactly. I just got to keep my head
on straight for a few more years, and hopefully she'll
grow out of it and come back to me.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
She will. It's a good thing that they're testing the
boundaries and that they are pushing a little bit, because
they're discovering who they are, and they're they're discovering who
what their traits and their passions and their hopes and
their dreams are.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
And so they got to push a little bit.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Yeah, And I just hope didn't. I have taught her
a good set of moral values, and she's making good decisions.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
And even if she makes a few bad decisions, so
long as she knows that she's got a safe place
to when she comes down, then she'll be just fine.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Oh when we are going to be right here waiting
for her land all right.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Let me play a song for you. Thank you for
calling Angel, Thank.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
You kill Hi who is this This is ian Ian?

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Yes, how are you?

Speaker 2 (08:23):
This is Delilah. What can I do for you?

Speaker 6 (08:26):
I'm doing very well. I wanted to tell you about
my wife, Shaney. She really is the most supportive person
in the world to me, and she's been with me
through thick and thin, and we are really going through
some really, really thin times right now. Neither of us
has a job, and needless to say, it's not very easy.

(08:46):
I realized that we're not the only ones going through it.
But she has been incredibly supportive to me, and I'm
very lucky to have her. It's been nearly ten years
since we got together. In fact, in just about two weeks,
it'll be ten years.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
And times are tough, and that has a way of
stealing your joy.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
That's definitely true.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
And unfortunately, when times are tough, a lot of times
folks start fussing at each other instead of drawing closer together.

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Absolutely, that is unfortunately what has happened from time to time.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
And it's not because you don't love each other, and
it's not because you expect the other one to fix it.
It's just you're frustrated and things aren't working, and there
doesn't seem to be a light at the end of
the tunnel and you just explode.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Exactly I understand. And if she listens to your show
every night and I wanted to just tell her through
your show that I love her more than anything, Okay.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
I will play a song that says all that if
you two promise me that you will make a pact
to work together as a team and to not let
anything going on in the world around you steal all
your joy.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah Do
