Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. I want to
know who you're crushing on? Who do you have a

There's this boy I like. His name is Brandon, and
I've liked him for about five months and I don't know.
This crush just feels different and he looks at me
a lot and we make eye contact a lot. But
I don't know if I should talk to him or
what I should do.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
How old are you?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
I'm fifteen.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Do your folks allow you to have a date or
a special someone or the old fashioned like me? And
I don't allow my fifteen.

Year old to date.

Yet they'll allow it.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
So they will allow you to have a special sweetheart.
But how is that ever going to happen? If he
doesn't have a clue that you are crushing on him?

Well, he kind of he does know because he was
on my brother's baseball team and they found out that
I liked him. But I just I get nervous to
talk to him, and I don't know what I should do.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Well, how about just work on a good, solid friendship
and see where it goes from there. Yeah, if that
blossoms into more than.
Speaker 2 (01:38):

Okay, how long have you been seeing him?

About two months now. We knew each other for about
three years four years now. We both were kind of
tied up in other things in life and other relationships,
and about three months ago we started hanging out and
we both knew we had an attraction, but we're both
afraid to be the one to come forward with it.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
So who finally broke down and said, Oh, by the way,
I'm crazy about y.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
I think that would be me in my own little way.
I think it is.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
You want to know something.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
It usually is the woman who who takes the initiative
there and says, Okay, enough is enough.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I just got to come out and say it. I
want to kiss your face.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Yeah, that's basically what I went and done.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
And I don't know if that's because guys are afraid
of rejection, or if they're just more stoic, or if
the I don't know, but it just kind of and
all the calls I take, it kind of seems to
be that it's the woman who has to finally say oh,
bye the bye. If you haven't noticed, I can't stop
staring at your.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Face and I just h'm in love with you. How
did you tell him?
Speaker 4 (03:16):
He was kind of afraid of relationships and commitment and
I just kind of told him, you know, he was
wondering where we were going to go and how are
we going to go to next level? And I just
told him that I would be here in support of him.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
So you didn't even say I want to kiss your face.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
And I went and kissed his face.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Oh you didn't say it.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
You just did it right, Okay, all right, that's a
good move, good tactic. I just couldn't forget the words,
just you know, go straight for the lips.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeah, I had to let him know.

here at work. There's actually a girl that I'm working with.

Uh huh, So why do you need me to brighten
your night, Martin? When you're sitting there working with someone
that you have but crush on, you have but crush on.

Uh Well, I figured she's probably in the same boat
as I am. So I figured, you know, you can
brighten my spirits, and I'm sure you can brighten hers too.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Hasn't anyone ever told you that you're not supposed to,
you know, go flirting with somebody in this same company
pool kind of thing?
Speaker 5 (04:37):
I know, But well, I don't know. I kind of
I figured this would be a good thing to, you know,
break the ice with and I kind of I think
she kind of feels the same with me too.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
You know, so heaven forbid you, she'd like go into
the kitchen at work and fix her a cup of
tea and hand it to her and gaze in horizon
and say, by the way, you know, you might want
to go out with me sometime.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
No, let's just go on the.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
Radio in front of a couple of hundred people and say,
well maybe, I don't know two or three, say kinda
you know, if you're not doing anything, I'd like to
kind of, you know, make out with you.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Let's take it one step at a time.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Are you telling me that
if you had the opportunity to kiss her face you
would say no, let's take it one step at a time.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
I wouldn't say that the truth comes out.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Well, let me find the perfect song then to let
her know that, you know, maybe you've got a little
tiny bit of a crush.
Speaker 5 (05:41):

married for twenty plus years and we became very good friends.

he was having difficulty with He still visits the in
laws and they're still like family. But I just like

I'm just not sure where he is, and I know
he has after twenty something years with that woman that
he was very close to from college, to lose her.
I'm sure it will take time. He's an awesome person.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
So you just you just want to toss your hat
in the ring and say, when your heart is.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Healed there you're feeling a.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Little stronger and the thought of maybe going to a
movie crosses your mind, or go.
Speaker 7 (07:22):
Out the dinner occasionally. But I'm not sure, you know,
if he's in a place ready, or even if he
would consider me. I don't know, but.

Until until we know that, I'll just I'll just try

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm.
