Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hey it's Delilah.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Every night on my radio show, I take a variety
of calls from people from all walks of life, and
today I want to share some of those wonderful calls
with you.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Hi, Mary, Welcome aboard. What can I do for you?
Speaker 3 (00:37):
I just wanted to see if you could play a
song for me. Well, it actually is a song that
my husband of twenty five years has basically had me
listen to explaining something that he felt in his heart
and wanted me to know that he was taking care
(00:57):
of business so he could be a better map for
his family.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
What's your husband's name, Dan? Stan?
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, and Stan is taking care of what kind of
business to be a better man for his family.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
He was in a cycle of a lot of alcohol
and he didn't have a father and stuff. So we
had a really i'm going to say deep downfall and
it really affected my family and I had to, you know,
make a really hard decision of what was more important
my family or my husband. And it was hard because
after twenty five years, you know, expect something like this
(01:30):
to happen.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Well, is he is? He still drinking?
Speaker 3 (01:34):
No, he's in a three year program right now. Wow, yeah,
it was.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
That's a huge commitment.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Yeah, well, he's probably means that much. And I'm overwhelmed
because I didn't really I thought I would be raising
kids by myself, which I am. But you know, it's
kind of worth the fruit.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
You know, Well, if he's truly there to change and
working on his issues and putting his life together and
learning to be a good person, then.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Great, I put a lot into my America. I mean,
I have four kids from him. They're all his, you know,
I have a twenty one year old, a twenty eighteen
or seventeen year old, you know, and it's kind of
hard where I'm coming from.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
It's very hard.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
You're the one doing you know, he's doing hard work
on himself, but you're doing the real work in parenting
and taking care of the needs of all four of
those kids. Yes, you're the one going to PTA, you're
the one checking homework, you're the one paying the bills,
You're the one mopping the floor, You're the one doing
the laundry, doing the shopping, doing the cooking, doing the cleaning,
doing the birthday parties.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, thank you, yep, but I'm proud.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Of you, girl. I am so proud of both of you.
Let me play a song for you.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Bye bye, Hi, good evening. Welcome to the Delilah Show.
Who is this?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
This is Caitlyn, Caitlin.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Who are you thinking about tonight?
Speaker 4 (03:00):
My sister and her boyfriend.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
What is your sister's name, Amanda?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
And the boyfriend Kevin? Do we like the boyfriend?
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Yes, he's so helpful in every which way and he's
helping me through a healing process.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
So he's not just good to your sister, he's good
to the whole family.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Now here's the true test. How does your mom feel
about the boyfriend?
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (03:29):
My mom kind of loves him and adores him as
her own son because he helps out around our house
sometimes no need help.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Do you think he's really sincerely that nice or is
he just kind of a brown noser to win parents?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Because he likes your sister.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
I think he's truly the nice.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
He's truly that kind.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, destly good over him? Who just said that? Was
that mom or your siss My mom? She said he's
the best thing that's happened to you, guys. That's saying
a lot. Yeah, you must truly be a wonderful, wonderful soul.
How old is your sister? She's twenty And do you
(04:12):
think this is the one she's going to hang on
to for life? I hope So sounds like if your
sister ever broke up with this guy, you guys would
break up with your sister and keep him.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I'm glad that your family loves him, and I'm glad
he's such a gentleman and such a generous person with
your family. You have a great night, you too, Thank you. Hi,
(04:47):
Welcome to the Delightah Show. Who's this?
Speaker 5 (04:49):
This is Julie.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Hi, Julie? What can I do for you?
Speaker 5 (04:52):
My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our
tenure wedding anniversary. There's kind of a little bit of
a story behind us. Want him to know how special
he is to me. I met him when I was
five months pregnant, and we got married at eight months pregnant.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
And he married you. Were you when you were eight
months pregnant with somebody else's baby? Yes?
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (05:14):
And he was there during the delivery and everything, and
he had adopted my daughter and everything like that. He's
been a father to her. And we've been through some
hard times throughout the ten years that we've been married,
and I even had an affair on him and he
forgave me. And I mean, he is just a wonderful guy.
(05:35):
And we made it ten years and I just I
really want him to know how special he is.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
How old was this man when when he made this
decision to take on an instant family.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Twenty five, Julie, could you do me a favor?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Or next time you're with what's his name, Lance, next
time you're with Lance and he's you know, got his
shirt off, could you look on the back, you know,
right there where his shoulder blade and see if there's
small wings protruding.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Because this guy has to be heaven sent.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
He is wonderful.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Well, thank god that you recognize that, and you two
were able to salvage this thing, and you're you're recognizing
what a gift he is. Yeah, and you're never gonna
take advantage or take it for granted again as long
as you.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
Live, as long as I live.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
You know what a good thing you got.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yeah, all right, you go give him hugs and kiss
his happy anniversary, and I'll play a song for you.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
David High, Welcome to the Delilah Show. How are you tonight?
Speaker 6 (06:41):
I'm doing well, Delilah. It's such a privilege to talk
to you tonight.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Well, thank you. I'm glad you're staying up late. What
can I do for you?
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Well, I'd like to dedicate a song and memory of
my mother.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Okay, tell me about mama.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
Well, mom was a wonderful person, but she suffered from
mental illness and she would never stay in one place
for very long. And she disappeared from us about five
years ago and we could never keep up and never
could find her.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
No, what do you mean. She was like a drifter.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
She was a drifter. Yeah, and she would not submit
to you know, mental healthcare or anything like that, and
she would just always be wandering.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
So that must have been terrifying, not knowing if she
was dead or alive, not knowing where she was or
what was going.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
On exactly exactly it was. It was very, very scary.
But your show really got me through those times because
just listening to the music and so many songs that
she loved, and we're really very comforting, and I just
(08:00):
wanted to tell you thank you for that and how
much your show has meant to our family through that
difficult time, but also to just tell my mom.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
How much a mother well, I hope that God lets
her have a radio where she is now and I
will play that song to bring back her memory to
your heart.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Thank you very much, Stillimah, I so hope you have
enjoyed these radio moments.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
As much as I enjoy bringing them to you.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
I'll share more with you each weekday on Hey It's
Delilah
