Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hey it's Delilah. We love to share.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Wonderful stories, wonderful calls with you, and today we're going
to do a little mash up, a mashup of some
of my favorite calls, old and new.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Hi Delilah, what can I do for you? Heidi?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I would like to dedicate a song to my very
best friend. We've been good friends for probably about seven
years now and he is just wonderful.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
So this is a buddy friend. Yeah, she pauses. How
do I define this? She says? Do you like him
for more than just like a buddy friend?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Well, that's really not fair for me to say right
now he is involved with someone, so I'd rather rather not.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Okay, so we'll just pretend like there aren't feelings beneath
the surface, going please look.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
At me, right, I've been there for you for seven years.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
I adore you, right at one time maybe, I mean
he had asked me out and I turned him down,
and even after that we're still good friends.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
So is he like seriously involved with somebody? Are we
talking marriage plans and now no, then he's still free game.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Heidi.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh, I know, I know, until.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
We're talking lifetime commitment, until he's you know, planning to
walk down that altar, until he's saying, this is my
forever mate.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
So what are you helping?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Well, you need to be bold. I know what's his name?

Speaker 3 (01:47):
His name is Aaron.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Do you know what his favorite color is?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You know, I'm not even sure it changes.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
You should find that out, and then you should find
a dress in that color. Oh okay, unless, of course
it's something like, you know, puce that looks terrible on you.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Oh well, yeah, I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Do you know what his favorite food is?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Well, he likes we go out to Applebee's all the time.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Actually, well, then perhaps nice dress Applebee's.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, that sounds really nice.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Actually bye bye, honey, Hi, good evening.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Is this Duyane?

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Yes, miss Elia, how are you?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I'm wonderful, welcome. What can I do for you?

Speaker 5 (02:34):
Oh, Delilah, I wanted to tell you about somebody else
on my mind.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Who is this? Somebody?

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Oh? This somebody is great? She Well, one day when
I was heading to my part time job for my
full time job I noticed her. She was having car
trouble and loend ho, she ran out of gas, so
her car cut off in the middle of the street
and I went back to help her out. So I
ended up pulling her truck out of street for us.
Then I took her to get us some gas, and

(03:01):
she was very precitive, but I didn't realize how much
because after two months after I helped her out, she
came back to my part time guten loft me some flowers.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Hmmm.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Was that because she was appreciative that you helped her
or was that because she thought you were pretty cute
in the process.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
I don't know, but she was very gorgeous to me.
She has a pretty several emerald green eyes on her,
and I mean, she was just really attractive. But she
just really took me by surprise, and she brought me
those flowers because I had kind of forgotten about her,
and you know, she brought them two months later to
my garden love them for me. And the bad part
was I was running late that day, so I didn't

(03:39):
get to see her.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So did she leave a phone number or anyway for
you to contact her?

Speaker 5 (03:44):
No, she didn't. I wish she had though. Oh, so
I've been trying to get a hold of your show
so I could actually get a hold of her so
she could come back to my job and I get
to see her again, get her phone number.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Oh my word, flyers of no contact info, And you
weren't there.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Uh h. I was actually running late that day. I
couldn't get to work on time, was almost in like
two different accidents that day, and I just had a
real bad day. And it just getting to work that
day and finding those flowers just lifting me up so much.
You have no idea.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Lifted you up until you went no phone number?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Yeah, well, let me see what I can do to help,
and Duayne, I hope what do you know.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Her first name?

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Her name is Grace.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Oh that's right, you told me that.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
I hope Grace is listening, and I hope she comes
back by so you can give her flowers.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I would definitely give her several flowers.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I bet you will call it by the flower in
the store.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
All right, you have a great night.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
All right, thank you, dear.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Heidi. Welcome to the Delilah Show. How are you?

Speaker 6 (04:56):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (04:56):
I'm doing great, Thank you, so glad to talk to you.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
What can I do for tonight.

Speaker 7 (05:00):
Well, I wrote an email a few weeks ago on
the occasion of my husband's in my anniversary. I had
called you on our fifth anniversary many years ago, many
years ago. It was fifteen years ago.

Speaker 8 (05:13):
When I was like ten, I don't probably probably.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Probably maybe fifteen.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
I'm sure of it. Anyway, we'd been to the church
where we were married and had visited it and had
gone out and picnicked, and we didn't have a lot
of money, so we couldn't go do anything exotic. But
I surprised him and I called you. We had two
children at the time, and when he heard on the
radio that I had called you and you dedicated a

(05:42):
song for us, he just thought that was the coolest thing.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
And what song do you want to hear for hubby tonight?

Speaker 7 (05:47):
Well, you know, earlier this summer, we had something happen
in our lives, which was that my husband was diagnosed
with cancer and he was put in the hospital and
we had a good number of weeks there, and when
he came out, he started right away on chemotherapy. So
we've been going through that for the last eight weeks.

(06:08):
And I want to have something for him that will
buoy him up and give him the message to just
keep going. You're going to make it and everything's going
to be fine. I just know it.

Speaker 8 (06:23):
Well, I will play a wonderful song and I will
ask our listeners to send healing prayers and thoughts of
hope and good luck with all those babies. And thank
you for being a part of my life all these years.

Speaker 7 (06:35):
Thank you, Thank you, Delilah.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
You have a good night, honey.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Who is this?

Speaker 1 (06:46):
This is Lisa, Lisa welcome.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
What can I do for you? Girlfriend?

Speaker 6 (06:51):
I have a short story for you about my husband
and I okay, tell me. We met seven years ago.
I was on my ten minute break at Round Table
Pizza and I was going out to meet one of
my associates' brothers and I thought, oh, you know, somebody
hooking me up. I'm never gonna like him. And when
we met, it was just it was love at first sight.

(07:14):
I know a lot of people say that and it's
just it doesn't work out later. But it's been six
years of marriage now and we're okay.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Wait a second on the road. You were were you
a waitress at round Table?

Speaker 8 (07:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:26):
So you basically you were smelling like pizza, sauce and
black olives.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
Oh, and you had.

Speaker 8 (07:32):
Your hair pulled back because you have to have it
back in a ponytailer bun.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
And you probably had a few, oh soda.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Pop stains, maybe some red sauce on your blouse. Yep,
not looking as hot as you would if you were
going out on a date, that's right.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
And this guy took one look at you and fell
in love.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Yeah, when I did the same with him. He showed
up in his scrabby clothes from working at a landscape
job all day with his father's lot fall company, and
oh my word, but we both just loved each other.
And we dated that evening for the very first time,
at a friend's birthday party.

Speaker 8 (08:09):
And so he went home and cleaned up and got
all the sawdust off him from the landscaping.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
You went home and.

Speaker 8 (08:16):
Got the pizza sauce out of your hair, and yep,
and it's been love ever since, yeap.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
And we married a year later, and we have two
beautiful children.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Now, and what are your kid's names.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
My son's name is Kyle and my daughter is Ayana Rose.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
All right, let me find a song for your whole family.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
