Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey it's Delilah
on this Wednesday morning, the eve of Thanksgiving. Are you

(00:23):
going to be frantic today cooking, cooking, cleaning, getting ready
for guests? Or maybe you are going to go someplace
for Thanksgiving. Wherever you go, I want you to be
safe and I want to celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving
with you all week long.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Kristin, Hi, Welcome to the Delilah Show. I understand you're
missing someone tonight. I am who is this someone that's.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
On your heart? My husband, but not in your arms.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
No, he's not.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Where's Michael tonight?

Speaker 4 (00:56):
He is overseas and he's been for about three months now,
and we're hoping that he's going to be home for Christmas.
And we have two kids, and the youngest is about
seven months now, so he's missed out on about three
months of her growing up and he feels very upset

(01:17):
about that, and we just want him to be home
and dismissing him a lot tonight and listening to you
is really helped. And I just wanted to talk to you,
and I hadn't called in the past, and I've always
wanted to, so I'm very happy that I got through tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
I'm glad you made it through.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I'm sorry you're missing your man, but I pray that
he's home, safe and sound, so that when Christmas morning
comes and Santa has slipped down your chimney, you can
open those gifts together with your babies.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
So do I one thing, Dolly, if I can. I'd
like to just say that he personally feels very proud
of what he's doing, and he believes in the mission
that he's completing, and he's happy to be where he is,
even though he's away from his family.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I think if you looked up the hero, there should
be a photograph of every man and woman who has
made that sacrifice to serve. And whether we agree or
disagree with the powers that be, we have to agree
that they are heroes among.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Heroes, absolutely because they're very selfless in what they do.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Totally selfless, totally willing to lay it on the line,
totally there. And you know what else is a hero
than somebody who had lay down a life for a
friend or a stranger.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Absinitely, God bless you and your hobby.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Hi, Ramona, Hello, how are you? I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 5 (02:44):
I'm great? I am awesome. It's such a pleasure to
actually talk to you. We love you so much.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Well, thank you. What are you doing this evening?

Speaker 5 (02:53):
I just got home from work and my daughter actually
made dinner, which is great. She's ten years old, tries
really hard, which is great. We have noodles, noodles, noodles
are good, noodles and toast, and that's basically you know,
that's basically it. But I like the fact that she
does that because she always says, Mommy, you're tired, you

(03:15):
have a long day, and that's basically what dinner is.
But for us, it's like a little snack because I
usually take out something to cook.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Really yeah, later on.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
Ye.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
What's your daughter's name, Dominique?

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Now are you a single mom?

Speaker 7 (03:29):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (03:29):
I am?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
And is it just you two?

Speaker 7 (03:31):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (03:32):
So you're a You're not just mother daughter, you're best friends.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Your team consider as best friends. But I always have
that guideline where she's always going to be in the
daughter's role.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Good for you.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
I want her to grow up to be the person
I got wants her to be. And I get tips
from you, which is great because you know, we all
need to, you know, learn from each other. And you
have more children than I do.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, would you like a few today? I can ship
you a couple of boys if you're interested.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
You know, I pray for a boy, but you know,
they told me I was going to have a boy,
and I was so happy. And she turned out to
be a girl, and my mom was right, and she
was born right before my mom passed away. So for me,
she is truly my angel. She has my mother's eyes
and every time I look at her, I see my mother.
And for me, that's a blessing that keeps me going,
that keeps me, you know, uplifted and knowing that, Okay,

(04:26):
I'm a single mom, but I know I can do it.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
You enjoy your dominique, and I will play a song
for you.

Speaker 7 (04:32):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Tell me what you are most thankful for, most grateful
for on this night.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
I'm very grateful for family. This year is going to
be a really really special special holidays for us. We
have a large family and the past three years because
my husband works, is a businessman and is never home
on the holidays. But this year we have a wonderful

(05:09):
surprise for the children, and that is that Dad, He's
going to be home.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And is he always had this crazy schedule?

Speaker 6 (05:16):
I would say probably the last six years he has.
But before that we traveled with him. But we needed
to set ground, build our homestead and have some stapability
for the children. So we have a small farm. We
raise sheep, and our oldest you.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Is de Lailah.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
I have a sheep named after me.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
Well, that was my daughter's idea.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Wow, what's your daughter's name, Kathleen?

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Now did Kathleen think of this because of the Delilah
in the Bible or because of me on the radio?

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Because she says that when we got the U, it
was it was a beautiful, beautiful little U and a beautiful,
beautiful black ram and he said. She says that Sence
and Adelaida and they're very much in love.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
And so Sam are Samson and Delilah giving you a
little ewes?

Speaker 6 (06:10):
We have plenty of them.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
And are they are they cute and adorable too?

Speaker 6 (06:14):
They're they're beautiful. They all have little bells. They they
they're hand said, and and they're beautiful. Wool gives the nice,
wonderful twitters.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Well, let me find a song for your family tonight.
Miss see Happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
We thank you very much, God bless you.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
High Happy holidays. Who is this?

Speaker 8 (06:41):
My name is Jason.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Tell me who's on your hearts?

Speaker 8 (06:45):
See all my kids. I'm driving to pick up one
of my other kids right now from you know, an
hour away for a visit for Thanksgiving. And and I'm
just really thankful. I own the company and I was
able to give all my employees giving dinner, you know,
deliver turkeys to tonight so that they'll be ready for Thanksgiving.

(07:06):
And and my birthday just passed. My birthday was yesterday,
and my son, who's seven, gave me a tremendous gift.
And it just it's a lot to think about. I
was just listening to your program on the way up
to pick up my daughter, and I just thought, you know.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
I am.

Speaker 8 (07:20):
I am so thankful to be able to have him
stilled into my little kids what it means to give
without wanting something back, and just and it's just it's
just awesome feeling, you know.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yeah, when you give expecting something in return, it's not
really a gift. It's a business exchange.

Speaker 8 (07:38):
Yeah. My son, he's seven, he's seven years old and
he's a pretty special kid, and just for my birthday,
and it's right around the holidays and Thanksgiving, and it
just really touched me. I mean, I have three beautiful
kids and they just all just give and give and give.
And if we see someone on the side of the
road and holding a sign, they're always the first one
to say, hey, can we give them a dollar? And

(08:01):
to them, they don't understand what anything else other than
they know that that person might need something. And so
it just touches my heart, It just really does.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
And what song can I play?

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Do you have a song on your heart for your
family or you want me to find one for you.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
If you're going to find one, that would be really great.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I will do that. Have a blessed Christmas and a wonderful, wonderful.

Speaker 8 (08:21):
New Year, you too, Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Bye bye, drive carefully, honey.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
All right, thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. I'll share
more with you each weekday on Hey, It's Delilah.
